My favourite dbd content creator is Yerv, because he is extremely chill, hilarious, prioritises fun over gameplay and always interacts with the chat. Honourable mention: Otzdarva. Such a nice guy, educational commentary on killer and always entertaining to watch. Another honourable mention goes to Raging_Ryuga, The most entertaining legion gameplay out there. ANOTHER honourable mention is ScottJund, dude really knows what he is talking about, and convinced me to play Oni and see the fun in him.

I really really really wish devs will give us either second objective or Scott's "Trial warmup"
So much boring to play as survivors when the killer only focus chasing 1 person while i'm holding m1 forever and pop 1~2 gens too early
It's even more boring if they're camping since all you can do is pretty much only gen rush
Survivor is just a boring role overall for me. Chases are boring, just running in circles. Doing gens is boring. All of it is unbearable for me. The only thing fun about survivor is playing against Oni and deathslinger, because those 2 are legitimately unsettling.
-
Also, why are all survivors aware of hex: huntress lullaby, when they get a skill check and the killer hasn't even gotten a stack yet.

CI is good on hag and trapper. Otherwise its wasted and does little to nothing to stop gen rush. MOST gen slowdown perks are overrated on most killers.
Mobility killers can easily patrol 4 generators, and having to patrol less on any killer helps.

I am a survivor main, but I do play killer a bit too.
As a survivor, here's my definition of absolutely legal yet scummy:
Huntress: Hook, reload, sit 50 feet from a hook and launch hatchets non stop (fridge hitbox gg's)
Bubba: Sit 50 feet away run back with chainsaw revving and try to mow down two people
Hag: 15 traps on every hook
Freddie: Do loops in a 50 foot radius around hook even though you can move around the map
If people do this after the gens are down, I don't think it's scummy at all. I think the end game is fair game for any playstyle: camp, tunnel, sit on hooks do whatever. If people think a SWF is playing disrespectful, all norms are out the window as well IMO. If you act like a 14 yr old, get wrecked.
The funny thing when people get called out for it they say:
Get gud
I don't care
I'm not here to have fun
How the ######### are you red / purp
I watch all the main youtube killers. They all do this in the majority of their matches. It's a legit strat. Is it fun, or do you feel you absolutely have to do this to get 3k / 4k ? Even with CI, pop, ruin etc? I am asking in the context of your average survivor team not SWF. I see people doing this with 4 or 5 gens still up at the 7-10 minute mark. Do you really have to play that sweaty? There is a high probability you are going to win.
Your Freddie reason i don't find very scummy, because if a survivor is near the hook, you can apply much needed pressure, and it isn't very scummy. I agree on hag, players that put over 2 traps in front or at the sides of hooks are mostly bad at hag. I disagree on Bubba since 50 feet isn't that bad, and if he is that far away, he won't get the 2 downs. I agree with you on huntress, since hitting on hook or throwing hatchets at the hook is just scummy. Those are my opinions. I don't see much killer mains who slug for the 4k, even the really devoted players like ScottJund don't even slug for the 4k and just count a 3k with hatch escape as a 4k.

The developers are working on a solution to early game, which I am quite excited about.

Do you not like whispers on pig? Guarantees you'll never be crouchwalking for no reason, ofc it was better when her terror radius was smaller...
Ah, sorry I forgot that one since I don't play much pig, but yes it's amazing on pig when combined with monitor and abuse.

Lithe gives crazy distance and after the vaulting fix, you're unlikely to get dedicated which makes it even better.
The only weakness to lithe is the game map in my opinion.

Adrenaline.
Sprint Burst effect and maybe a heal AT THE ENDGAME. Let me just play the entire game with only 3 perks for a once-only small boost. Sure, I could clutch out a chase against a killer and be able to run them for a bit longer, but NoED has infinite duration and a smart killer might decide that gates are actually more important right now.
Dead Hard.
Never works. Either extends a chase by all of two seconds at most, unless you've planned out everything with a pallet nearby or can be used to bait out and possibly confuse newer killers in the lower ranks.
Unbreakable.
If I'm slugging you, I WANT you to use your Unbreakable. I'm wasting time with you eating dirt.
Whispers.
I have found this perk only useful on Doctor to use with Static Blast. That is it. I know that it's meant to be good tracking, but it really doesn't work for me.
Corrupt Intervention.
I don't immediately rush for a generator. I instead look for totems, and possibly a chest. Locking down some generators at the start is a huge waste of a perk to me because it's again, a one-use-only perk, and doesn't affect me that much considering my main goal now isn't strictly generators. Especially since the whole "gen-rush" thing negatively affects both sides. I perform better, and rank up faster, by playing in a solo setting and playing in longer games. Corrupt literally helps me do better as a survivor.
Quick & Quiet.
The killer is going to be looking at you half the time. No real point in using the perk then now, is there?
I agree with all of this, even whispers. Whispers seems very situational for me and once you start hooking people it can become worthless.

I don't really like using the term "overrated" since it tends to be used as though it's objective fact rather than just another opinion.
Anyways, I don't like Corrupt Intervention nearly as much as some other people. I think it's useful on certain killers that need time to set up, but that's about it.
No worries mate, this is all opinions! I personally love corrupt, I think it is great because you can pressure less gens at the start of the game.

Self-Care
I'm aware a lot of people complain about this perk already, but in the red ranks you'd be surprised with how popular it is. Whether I'm playing as killer or solo queue, there will always at least one person using the perk.
Self-care is overrated in the red ranks particularly because people think it's useful to healing instead of having to search for a med-kit or equip a med-kit every game. Admittedly I used to run it a lot but then I tried out Inner Strength and I've since kept Inner Strength in my build.
With the healing speeds nerfed a while back, self-care became detrimental to the team and allowed the killer to secure an easy kill.
Agreed, you waste so much time healing when your team mates can heal you faster, when the killer injures and leaves you, they probably want you to heal.
-
@MortisCarnifex said:
Play With Your Wood is overrated I think. The speed boost is a lot but isn't a must have.
Play with your food is more underrated than overrated, people write the perk off constantly, but when used well on the right killers, it is an amazing and unpredictable perk.

Dead Hard.
Handy if you've been unhooked with BT, especially if you are making a bee-line for the exit gates.
Otherwise, it simply delays the inevitable.
Well, it is very useful at loops, otherwise you are going to get downed by any half decent killer who knows how to counter dead hard.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Old Ruin was arguably only a placebo perk and allowed a killer that was going to crush a team to crush them even harder. PGTW can legitimately wreck a high level game when only one or two gens are left. Corrupt I am still feeling out for all killers. My sense is the delay is still only recommended on set up killers like Hag, Trapper, Plague.
Totems have incredibly inconsistent spots, they can be out in the open or hidden, either way a survivor will find and cleanse it quickly.

So you think Freddy is weak? Interesting pov, but I think a killer that can't be seen from far when you are awake, destroys every loop effortlessly making you drop pallets earlier and than teleports to the other side of the map to pop the gen while staling the game with slowing down addons also effortlessly is pretty sweaty... He has mobility, either breaks chases faster or get pallets out of the game, slows gens progress by doing nothing with addons, what is his weakness again?
I never said he is weak, he is one of the 4 best killers in the game, I used to main him and have played him since release.

The only political topic that was ever associated with dbd is when they did the #blacklivesmatter thing on instagram.

I had a fun time using a sort of Undetectable build for Pyramid Head when I was trying out the PTB. The perks I was able to unlock for him were Dark Devotion, Nurse's Calling, Deathbound, and Pop Goes the Weasel. With some modifications, this could turn out to a be a serviceable build, allowing you to really get the drop on survivors with Dark Devotion and Nurse's Calling. I'll keep these two perks in my build and experiment with the other two perk slots to form a true "Spooky Pyramid Head" build.
I'd like to point out that Play with your Food actually does lose stacks when using the ranged attack (Punishment of the Damned), since it's capable of dealing damage and is therefore considered a "Special Attack" according to the perk. That said, Play with your Food is always a good ace-up-your-sleeve perk that can throw off survivors that don't expect you to be 5-15% faster than normal, so I would keep trying it out to see if it works for you.
Thanks, I thought you couldn't lose stacks, but I will still run it as it's an amazing chase perk.
-
@Schmierbach said:
Slowdown builds seemed to work well on him on the PTB so I will probably try those first, then maybe branch out a bit once I'm used to his playstyle.

As a player who plays both killer and survivor, I believe the Doctor needs changes, and yes I mean a couple of nerfs. There's one or two things in his arsenal I feel are just not necessary. He could still be a very good killer. This is not a rant from a player who has his bottom smacked daily by the Doc, it's a rational observation.
Although I don't always have a terrible match against the Doctor, his range of abilities and effects are pretty over the top. He really is the perfect low-skill killer. With certain add-ons, an experienced player can make dog meat out of a team with little sweat spilt.
As a survivor, it's become a regular occurrence to be pitted against Doctor. He's such an easy option. He is a strong killer. When I play as survivor, and within 10 seconds I hear that familiar chase music...I just roll my eyes and think "Here we go again".
Doctor simply has too many weapons at his disposal. He's got far too many tools to hunt down survivors, and the survivors have far too much happening on their screens.
With survivors crying out and having their positions revealed without an ounce of skill involved, it makes playing covert survivor extremely difficult. Not to mention the simple 'hook survivor followed by static blast' tactic which blows the cover of any would-be rescuer nearby.
The Doctor can use shock therapy to disable a survivor long enough to pervent them vaulting or dropping a pallet. This is another powerful attribute in the Doc's repertoire.
When the madness effect kicks in, the screen goes appropriately insane. It really is madness. Then you have to 'snap out of it', leaving you prone until you do so.
The fake pallets are another obstacle with which the survivors are up against.
The fake Doctors that follow you round the map, which the Doctor can also see, are an extension on the postion giveaway factor. Doctor already has Static Blast, but with the fake Doctors there is even less chance of hiding.
The random screaming is another eye-ball roller, especially with a slugged dying state survivor screaming out...and giving their position and probably kissing goodbye to a possible hatch escape or heal.
These are my personal opinions on the changes needed. I think they're pretty reasonable:
-Disable the Doctor's ability to see fake Doctors. He already has Static Blast. That's sufficient for finding and tracking survivors. He doesn't need an added extra.
-Dying state survivors should not scream.
I agree with the 2 nerfs you suggested, but a low skill doctor won't be able to use the static blast effectively. Let's say a doc is running thrilling tremors and pop goes the weasel, when the doc downs someone, he does a static blast to shock survivors off of generators and trigger thrilling tremors, and pops the generator later. That is something a bit more complex about doctor. However dying survivors shouldn't scream, and maybe he shouldn't see his clones.

The lore always grabs my attention, I love how the entity's realm is similar to the thinny or going todash in the dark tower.

Noed is terrible designed. Besides that the rewards the failure of the killer to Eliminate 4 survivors before all gens are done, it also is only punishing solo survivors. Swf who want to win WILL cleanse the totems in the most efficient way possible due communicating the counter.
Not all end game perks are unhealthy just because NOED is, blood warden rewards playing well for example.

So I tend to enjoy playing DBD with a friend or two due to when I solo queue I usually get bad teammates who won't do gens as I'm being chased, won't come get me off the hook, camp hatch, etc. But my friends and I aren't toxic, no flashlight saves, head on saves, we rarely get pallet saves (usually we're not working together in the same spot) and of course we don't bm or talk ######### in endgame chats.
I will say we're decently skilled but we only escape 10% of the time at most. We play like a normal survivor would expect we give each other occasional bits of info like "Hey I'm being chased" or "I know where the hex totem is", etc. And even though we play normally we usually get called toxic/ one of us gets face camped from the beginning of the game.
I'm just kind of curious as to what people's opinions are on non-toxic, relaxed SWF teams.
Any swf that doesn't click flashlight, sabotage every hook, DS, t bag or flashlight save will get the hatch from me if I kill everyone else.

So, this is pretty common. A killer camps a survivor so he can guarantee at least 1 kill. I thought this was not wrong and I got camped like this quite a lot. I still thought this was OK since the killer doesn't want to depip, which makes sense. Then I watched an Otzdarva video in which he played Wraith. All the gens were done and he had 1 person on hook. Instead of camping, he continued playing normally and because of that, he got a 4K. This really changed my mind. I don't think camping for 1k isn't wrong but if you do it, you might just waste a 4K.
The only time I camp is when I don't have end game perks, and both gates are 99%, but I don't face camp.

Actually shack is pretty weak with a shorter loop (done by the breakable wall). The saloon is the only strong loop in the map and it can be nerfed if the killer breaks a pallet or two.
Overall, saloon is very killer sided.
