When the devs actually make a good decision which is like rarer then getting a two pip at red ranks as killer

Are you trolling?
In all seriousness they may have made the HoT perk to see how it performs before changing the addons ---> this is okay.... the hook perk is something for the inexperienced/brown ranks----> which again is fine... but all these perks imo are unique and are designs that open the door for new ideas...
They don't need to make a perk just to see how something works, that's just wasted resources and time, they can literately make a PTB which is completely separate from the main game and change the addons there and see what happens, they don't need to make something into a perks just to see something else, makes zero sense.
And your second point sound okay at first thought, but this has already been discuses before hand, especially around ranked games. While it may help lower ranked players, just imagine how more powerful the perk should not be when it gets carried over to the high rank. DS was suppose to help lower ranks, but when it got carried over to the high ranks, look what happened, adrenaline was to help lower ranks, but look what happened when it got into the red ranks, MoM when it was first released was suppose to help the low rank players, but in gods name look what happened when red rank players got hands on it, totally got abuse for how overpowered it was. This is why ranked based games balance around the high ranks, because anything that gets made for the low ranks, gets stupidly far more powerful then it should be in the high ranks, and low ranks that try to use what high ranker user use, don't know how to use it and is look upon as weak. That's why anything that is given to the lower rank players are usually something that help the low ranks players only and causes little impact when it gets used in the high ranks, basically starter stuff.

Okay, frankly what you said is an assumption of what I meant.
First off you were complaining that it wasn't realistic for a survivor to full on throw themselves over a pallet without any momentum to do so. I didn't say anything about you breaking a pallet as survivor, it's quite clearly obvious that breaking pallets is exclusive to killer so don't give me those sarcastic smart ass replies.
Secondly, you said and I quote "Humans have human abilities, they gain nothing from the entity", false, as I mentioned above, the entity grants the survivor the ability to run endlessly without tiring and can fall from great heights without any injury.
There was nothing sarcastic about it, you worded your sentence that way, in a way that it wasn't executed in the way you wanted to sound like, what you should have said instead that would have made it more clear (and yes I understand what you meant to said but still) "Wow complaining about survivors vaulting a pallet? Just break it" but instead said "complaining about vaulting a pallet?" Which could reference anything, but in that case, people reading that could just assume that you are saying that I'm complaining about vaulting as a survivor and I should break the pallet or referring to me vaulting it in general.
And also "humans have human abilities, they gain nothing from the entity" is not false, I don't know if you don't read my whole replies or something, but I have clearly stated several times in my past replies saying how that I know that this game isn't all based on reality logic did I not? The only things from what I know so far that the entity gave them is perks and pallets, and really the only other thing the entire gave them is aura reading, now of course going back to what I said earlier, I've should have stated saying survivors gain very little of anything from the entity, but still that can be seen as nothing.

Incorrect. Following your logic, if the survivors were solely human and didn't gain any abilities from the entity then that means they would tire and die from falling from heights, both of which doesn't happen in Dead by Daylight.
Your reply to my whole argument right there was just pointless and flawed really easily
So you solely followed my logic? Okay let's point out a few things.
I point out the fact of how some things that the survivors are able to do is inhuman and does not make sense because of how it would work in reality, and with that I said that almost (not all) any games you find, there's always some sort of reality aspect to it, but I didn't say this game was entirely run by reality did I? No, just like how you assumed that I said that I shouldn't be able to break any pallets to catch someone when I clearly didn't even state that at all and after stating that you didn't bring it up again and of course the way you worded your sentence "Wow, complaining about vaulting a pallet? Just break it" So as a survivor I should not value a pallet and break it as a survivor?
Going back to when I said that, this game follows some reality logic, but not entirely by it. If you were to look at the fall distance at some places, like off a hill or some mid-height places people can still land correctly if they did it right, of course the animation of how it shows the survivors falling off is not correct, but them stuttering and not be able to run or even move for a few seconds after falling is realistically right, especially from mid-height areas, but that doesn't mean that dead by daylight needs to go full realistic mode and if a Survivor jumps out of a window as high as one of the windows from red forest or haddonfield should be injured or die, there's games that contain game mechanics and realism mechanics and you usually find those in asymmetrical games because of balance reasons. The survivors are solely human, unless you want to look at them as half human half God (or immortal) or half human half demigod for some reason.
And I never said it was my logic did I? Though I did get "my" logic from the lore of the game and understand it.
So you assumed two things so far on me, thinks that the survivors in this game or half human and half immortal, ask a question to me that didn't make sense ("complaining about vaulting a pallet?) And now you blindly jumped into "my logic" and try to use it against me without thinking about?
-
@Chaddad2169 said:

It's a video game, who cares about realism, it's all about balance. A survivor can stand still and fast vault a pallet, whoopy doo. It's the end of the world.
Vaults have been nerfed enough, now why are you complaining about vaulting a pallet of all things, I guess you having a problem with a survivor being able to throw their body over like that even when they're standing still means I can have a problem with Hillbilly sprinting around a map that first with a chainsaw for the exact same reason that it isn't realistic.
Humans have human abilities, they gain nothing from The Entity
Killers in the entity realm, have supernatural abilities from The Entity
Your whole argument right there was just pointless and flawed really easily

Wow, complaining about vaulting a pallet? Just break it omegaLUL
I've already seen you everywhere on the forum, so no point in giving you anything, but just for your pleasure needs.
1- I've stated something at the end
2- reread your own sentence again and see if it makes sense
3- I've never stated how I should never break a pallet anywhere

@noneofyourbusiness said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/633014#Comment_633014
and some other change besides the vacuum of the pallets can be considered as QoL change?
Insta flashlight? yes, why should survivors be able to instantly save someone in less then a second when the killer is picking up someone and not be able to avoid? and with pallets, they just put it down, killer goes to break the pallet and survivor just clicks for less then one second and then gone, even lightborn was useless against it
Self care? yes, why should a perk that helps you to be able to heal yourself be at the same speed as when someone heals you? or near that speed? its like I have a cut on my back but my friend can heal it up quickly because he has a good vantage point on it and can see where it is, if I try to do it myself I would have to feel where the cut is and even then, I would have a hard time patching it up because im having to push my arms back behind me
Window vault change? Of course, it didn't even remotely make sense that a survivor could just look away from a window while being 2 feet away from it and then make their body quickly flick towards the window and be able to have enough speed and distance to fast vault it and and it should go the same for pallet, makes zero logic that a survivor could just be able to push their body against the pallet and somehow have enough speed and zero distance to fast vault it, or even standing standing still near the pallet vault zone and yet somehow with magic has enough force and speed to fast vault it. This change was to help stop infinites (But it barely did because the infinites themselves are the problem)
Yes this is a game, yes its the entity realm, but that doesn't mean the devs put in some reality logic in it from the real world
-
Hopefully that gets fixed
-
Insta heals...don't know how that got through when in development of the time
Noed...don't know how that came into their mind at all
DS (First version) really don't know how that passed through
hex perks..because you know "Risk vs reward" when really its Risk vs Risk
MoM (First version)....my god I don't even wanna know how they came up with that and how that even passed their team in the first place

I think it's more that those three screenshots specifically had those words. Out of every line said in Stranger Things, it's more of a stretch for those lines to randomly have the right words after Netflix announced a partnership with...someone.
Also, no need to crap in peoples cheerio's, mate. Let them have their fun and go be a grump somewhere else. If you don't like it; don't read threads about it.
my POV on that Netflix post will change after 2 or 3 weeks don't worry.

omg wow it has the words dead............by...........daylight, wow so much confirmation
I could make a book and each chapter would each have those words randomly placed and you would still be "OMG LOOK THIS CONFIRMS IT DNEOINBFIUB"

@shmoul said:
I'm just going to copy what I said in a different thread a while back:
My problem with the spirit is the lack of mindgames. You heard me right, there are no mindgames on the survivor side playing against spirit.
- You can't know where she's coming from. Hearing footsteps is near impossible if you're working on a gen or you're running or even just injured.
- If you know she's phasing and you try to trick her by double backing, she'll just run into you because she has collision for whatever reason.
- As I said, no mindgames really. It's just a guessing game. Say she's chasing you and you vault a window and she walks up to it. She could be vaulting it, phasing or standing still and there is no way to know which she is doing. Also, she can hear your sounds way too easily and can just phase right on you, so you basically need to use a window or a pallet every time, but because the spirit knows this she will go for those specific things. Going for a pallet is a 50/50 and you can rarely make it to a window. (and she might even cut you off)
- Passive phasing. Even looping turns into a guessing game instead of a mindgame. When you're looping her and her stain suddenly disappears you can't know if she just turned around to double back, or if she just got passive phasing. This is even more dumb because of the fact that she doesn't know when she is passively phasing so she can't use it to her advantage purposefully
- With everything mentioned above, her speed after phasing is pretty insane especially with addons. This makes it so that even if you managed to make her think you went somewhere else she will almost always catch up to you regardless.
- Prayer beads.
Those are my main problems with the spirit. Now I don't want her overly nerfed, but I want the devs to introduce some sort of a way to tell what the spirit is doing, that way surviving is not just rolling the die and hoping that you get lucky, but an actual representation of skill.
There are perks that counter her power
if your at a loop and you know that she is using her power or think she is, don't stay at the loop, go to another nearby one
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Rin_Yamaoka read her power for that collision
passive phasing is there to help her confused the survivors more then it being used to mindgame, and its called PASSIVE for a reason, your not really suppose to have full control of it
Sooooooo you want her to be weak as wraith? and remember, its only her addons that change that, but you barely see anyone use those addons, and her base speed when she comes out of her power is not insane at all
prayer beads eh it still have a counter to one thing and when being chased? its no different
My main point is that her power is greatly in her hands, not in the survivors hands cough Ghost face and plague cough and its for the survivors to do their best to work around it and counter it
-
Im pretty sure in the lore and by the devs themselves, with each trail survivors and killers are brought into, it is always different
-
Because some players just want it easy for them and more fun for them, instead of learning how to go against the killer and counters. Spirit is the most balance killer yet, aside from prayer beads a little cause that has a counter to it, next to that is huntress but no map pressure and then nurse

I wouldn't want to see some sort of punishment for cleaning a hex, personally. Hex perks are generally more powerful than the average perk because they can be cleansed. It's a risk, but it could pay off big time. If there's a penalty for cleansing it, there's no risk. Whatever happens, you get a powerful effect.
I'd prefer they keep the risk vs. reward aspect. If you don't want to take the risk, you can go for a weaker perk that has a similar but guaranteed effect.
(It would be nice if the hex perks that spawn wide open, like on the asylum, didn't happen, though.)
risk vs reward? more like risk vs risk
and ruin isn't even that strong, just learn to hit great skill checks
devour nope is strong but by the time you get two tokens its gone
third seal just neglects auras, yes gets rid of information for survivors but what else?
noed is very strong, but you have to wait till the end and even then, you might only get one or two kills, or even none (Noed needs a rework asap btw)
haunted grounds is the only good hex perk because you want that to be cleaned
huntress lullaby is not even that strong, yes may throw off some survivors, but then what? and even then before you even get a skill check they immediately know you have it and either prepare for it or go find it
thrill of the hunt is just....garbage and time wasting to the killer, not to the survivor and it is way beyond counter-able
When you bring in a hex perk you...
risk of it being cleaned to fast
risk of it spawning in a really stupid spot
risk of it not even working fully
risk of survivors being able to easily counter it without cleaning it
risk of one survivor just going around cleaning all of the totems and happen to find your hex totem
risk of it not even doing its job
and the only reward out of it is if it last long enough to work, but that takes time which is also a risk so it doesn't even feel near like a high reward
unless the biggest risk is taken out asap (which is the really obvious totem spots) hex perks are a risk vs risk
-
Nerfing survivors lmao...I see it more of a quality of life change to the game and survivors, but yet, I still see people saying "The deletion of the pallet vacuum was such a nerf to survivors!" lmao what a joke, can really tell the difference between survivor players saying when something is a nerf in their eyes (aka they change what gave them free power that they shouldn't need) and when something is consider a QOL change to them, deletion of pallet vacuum was a QOL not a nerf

More like killers cry because they have to use effort. Killers literally run faster and have a weapon lol. Survivor can try all they want but eventually killers are guaranteed to catch up and kill them. Killers are to lazy to put effort in
So do you want killers to put in effort or do you not want them to put effort in? Pick one, you can't do both
-
Ping? Cannnnn we get the ping? Unless I know about the ping of the killer then its not hixboxes and it was fair
-
So you don't want Killers to protect their hex totems at all cost? If you and none of your teammates can get the totem, just do the gens, I'm pretty sure it's not that hard to learn how to hit the great skill checks almost every time

I guess if I find a video of four survivors getting destroyed then I can show proof that survivors are weak?
If four (or the team) survivors are getting destroyed by a good or god spirit, nurse or hillbilly then they aren't weak, especially if the survivors did well against them
If four (or the team) survivors are getting destroyed because they make bad plays, bad loops, bad calls or bad reads then no
If four (or the team) survivors are getting destroyed after surviving longer then 4-6 mins against any killers, especially against nurse, spirit or hillbilly and still pip or safety pip then no

So... rank 2 killer = fair for rank 13 survivor? Nice logic.
And a rank 15 Killer versus a rank 2 and 4 Survivor = Fair?
If you're going to survive with friends and you have two highest rank Survivor in the group, then it should be verses against a high-ranking killer, we don't need boosted survivors. There shouldn't even be any boosted survivors in the first place, you want to wonder why half of the survivors most people team up with in solos are bad? Even though they're red ranked survivors? Because half of them are boosted from Survivor friends and don't know what to do when they are on their own.

Not to mention, since Snap Out Of It is not COMPLETELY broken, it's hard to find what did it, or know it would happen before it happens.
Broken code, on it's own, is somewhat easy to find when it's completely broken.
When something breaks because the stars aligned & you hit Insanity 3 while sprint-vaulting on a specific map, or because you got hit on the same frame you hit insanity 3, or something else altogether..
..Well..That's just not possible to find before it happens.
Why do you think games do open beta? You can have the best bugtesters in the world, but no one can think of every thing that could break. 5,000 people at their keyboards just playing could stumble into bugs that no bug tester would find.
The same goes for completed games.
No game will ever, EVER be without bugs. And no bugfix will EVER remove all bugs.
Also the bug just happened when he got me to tier 3, that's it nothing special just when I hit tier 3 is when it happens

You can actually look up the previous sounds that were leaked, which are most likely tied with the next killer, and its strongly theorized that the next killer is licensed, if you want to know more, look it up for yourself.
This could be very true, this new soundtrack is like so out of tune of what DBD would have, but yet fits at the time same, and it came out of nowhere

Come on, we don't want poor people playing this game. They're nasty! If someone can't afford $20 (plus taxes, yeah I know) for a huge amount of fun, maybe they should get a job instead of playing video games.
The playerbase needs quality, not quantity.
So I already know your that type of person. k
If poor people aren't allowed to have fun or have a video game because of money issues, then I guess homeless people should just not be feed or have a home because they are nasty/poor? Because that is what you are saying.
Also there is no saying of "PlayerBase needs quality" What the hell? How does a PlayerBase need quality? What is this? North Korea?
Game needs Quality
PlayerBase only needs quantity in general, so I don't know where that logic came from.

It goes on 50% sale on steam pretty often.
There's also other websites where you can get it way cheaper. For example on cdkeys it costs around 6$ now.
So no , I don't think it should go free to play and no it doesn't really cost 20$.
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed. How does it not cost $20? And im talking about DBD going free because of the amount of in-game purchases are in it, especially with battlepass coming to it. 19.99 is not 19.99, especially with tax.
@George_Soros said:
We would see a sharp increase of disconnects, and bad players.
The occasional free weekend sounds fine, to get those people who like the game enough to play seriously (and pay for it; hey, it's cheap!).
There are other games that have lots of players come in and they gonna be pretty bad players and they have to learn over time and some will disconnects, that is no difference with DBD, now of course with how bs this game is, yes and increase of DCs, but bad players with new players coming in is just gonna be normal
Also not everyone has a budget to buy a lot of things and then buy video games that cost $20 and over, don't forget tax, it makes it worse. And of course to people with low family budget.

Devs stated that DBD has no auto-aim. Every killer has a hit detection zone in form of a cone. If a survivor hitbox is within that cone killer will gain momentun to make the animation look better and score a hit. My only problem is that these hit detection zones are the size of a bus.
Don't let the devs confuse your mind, hit detection zone is just a fancy way of them saying "its autoaim or aim assist"
If im about to attack or lunge attack and my aiming does something on its own without me doing anything and does corrections, its doing that AUTOmatically and since that has to do with aiming, its called autoaim or aim assist
Its the same thing with FPS games, If I am aiming down my sight and the game makes aiming corrections on an enemy that I am looking at while aiming down, its AUTOmatically doing that for me and that is auto aim or aim assist. Pff but these devs want to be like "Its auto aim but its called Hit Detection Zone so its not auto aim"
-
I just close the game before the match starts, im not dealing with bs haddonfield with all balance landing, bs loops at coldwind, etc

This whole game pisses me off when I play it, too many stupid ** that happens that cost me a kill or even the whole game, toxic players, you name it, same for survivor.
And yet funny cause R6S has a toxic community but yet I still have loads of fun with it, dbd is just that one game that wants to piss you off cause of the devs and how they don't know how to make a game.
-
You do realize the reason why ash can talk is because when he or they are at the camp, which to the survivors, is their safehaven, because they're not in a trial, and the Killer is just lurking in the distance, watching them, watching whoever is going to be in their trial, once they go into a trial by The Entity, then they can't speak.
Or we can go for a more simpler explanation and it's just for decorative reasons, and it doesn't necessarily affect the lore

If you are playing against a good nurse and surviving for 5 minutes, his monitor is turned off. Why are there so many low-ranked people commenting on what they don't know?
Or that I'm making my movements less obvious, constantly trying my best to break LOS n such. Also I don't know why you assumed that I'm a low rank player. I could easily assume that you don't know what your saying either, but am I right? No.
-
So if I played trapper and get 200 kills in 50 games, trapper is OP?
Anyways, the problem with his experiment is that one of two things
- The way the survivors play and/or what they did
- and how long each survivor survived and/or kept him in chase
If there are survivors in any of his games that throw the match or kill themselves on hook, it should not count as a kill as they are not fully putting their work into going against him
If I am able to keep a good or god nurse in chase for quite a good time and survive longer then 5 mins against one and still pip, I consider that as a win, but everyone wants to consider escaping as a win. Really escaping means nothing if you still piped and died. Its just that everyone expect themselves to win every game by escaping and that dying and still piping is consider a lost.
-
People just don't have patient anymore to test something out sadly, all they need is just to get killed once and they say "OP BROKEN!"

He needs adjustements, its broken now.
The range for the tp should be 32 meters or less not infinite. And he should either place snares slower or look down and stay in place like the other killers that puts traps. Being able to do that while moving and super fast its unbalanced.
So you want him to be back to his old self? Immobilized and everything? I don't see how his new self is broken. Yes he might be able to TP to a generator at infinite range, but that makes up for how slow it takes to actually get to the generator, and for how long it takes for the power to recharge, the snares are not even that good, half of the time the Survivor won't even step on them, and like the OP said, they usually work good on Long Loops or Windows, but half of the time survivors just ignore them. Fake pallets are really good, but that's just the extent to it, overtime, survivors are going to start teaching themselves to remember where each pallet was, what pallet has been used and what pallet they have used, and again over time, survivors will just learn that the next time they're in Dreamworld, they will remember which pallet they have the used, and when they see a pallet that's not supposed to be there, they will just use it up, and will just start putting them down so no one else falls for it.
The Killers need another viable killer, Freddy is looking to have that potential in him, so any changes like you want on him, will sound like it won't do much on him, but when it goes live it will do a lot, and then you'll have the survivors complaining that they're just going against the same three killers, nurse, hillbilly and spirit

Are you just saying people use map offerings more in high ranks or are you actually implying survivor-sided maps are intentionally selected more often by the map RNG there?
I don't know where I hinted saying map offerings are use more in the high ranks, I've only said they are use just to ensure a survivor sided map AND that map selection RNG starts to feel and look/become narrow in the high red ranks, IF anything, map offerings used in high red ranks are to ensure the most unfair survivor sided map like haddonfield, preschool (maybe not so much now after the work on it) and coldwind

No keep this open, because we need to talk about this mess.
There has been valid points on both sides, and you saying that their has been only valid points on one side already says a lot about you, Im only saying that someone needs to close this thread because the points have already been made, nurse addons are the only things need changing, and the only reason why this is all a "mess" is because everyone is making it A mess by keeping this thread up
"Why, you all thought your echo chamber of shouting how Nurse isn't OP was gonna stop sound reason of why in fact she is?" Unnecessary rudeness and
"No keep this open, because we need to talk about this mess." its only gonna make it messier, so what do you want?

its funny enough that when you start getting into the high ranks, map RNG becomes very narrow to like Coldwind, haddon, pennys etc, maps that favor survivors a lot, map offerings just ensures they get a survivor favored map to win

Time they say....pff ok
Over the years since mid to late 2017-2019 only like I would say 10-13% of the perks on both sides have been used because of how your game works, especially in the high ranks, if we try to use different perks other than ruin, bbq, spirit fury n enduring, killers just get gen rush to hell, and because of the loops, and you say time? haha okay.
Same for survivor meta perks, we don't use them, we get killed easier

So, what I have gathered so far, is that you don't have the "time" to take a pic of your Survivor Rank and killer rank, and it looks like you play Survivor more, but when you play killer, you completely suck, and you have use bubbles basement in the low ranks, which is indicating to me that your killer rank is not very high, which also indicates to me that since you don't play killer a lot and suck at it, you don't even know how to go against most of them or learn how they work so you can learn yourself as Survivor counter their abilities and perks, and especially how stressful it gets into the high mid ranks and high red ranks, and finally you, telling me, that I have to take your word for it that you're a rank 3 Survivor.
Ruin is doing what it's supposed to do, slow down the game, and if your teammates are wasting all their time looking for the hex totem instead of doing the generators, then that's on then, and that's ruin doing its job
bbq is not even that powerful, it only shows your location for 4 seconds and that's it, from the time it shows your location to the time the killer gets to your previous last known location is a big difference, so if people, including you, just stay put in same place, or don't even care to hide behind a generator or in a locker, after someone has been hooked, then that's on you.
So if you're basing your statement, because of your experience of your teammate not caring to counter the perks or learn how to hit the great skill checks and not completely waste time just looking for one totem, is very biased.

Ehhhhh nope gotta show me a pic mate, not taking your words, but even then, ranks don't matter when half of them are boosted from swf and all they do is search for ruin and get themselves killed, no one care enough to learn to hit great skill checks
