I'm a little annoyed that when I post about fnaf, and try to be reasonable and just have a conversation, I get all the haters and trolls, but when someone else does everyone seems chill.
It happens quite a bit to people.
Think it depends on the first few comments and where the comments lead to.

Damn, didn't read anything from this thread but hell damn can the devs please already make a FNAF chapter so this dumb discussions and the mountains of threads every new chapter can stop 🙄
You know the main point of this thread was to show why Fnaf is so hated right?
Even mentioned it was because of the Low effort fnaf spamming and reasons why people say children only play Fnaf but of course most people here did not read it then just choose to show more hate for Fnaf.
Feel like most people just don't read anything and just comment what they think based on the Title of the discussion.

They were milked to the bone. And Scott's kiddies praised him like he was the Holy Grail of the gaming industry when his games were pretty irrelevant and were mostly known for having the worst community full with furry kids and other weirdos. Also those fanatic theorys from that guy Mattpat or whatever his name was. This guy was basically writing the story and Scott just went with it.
Ever community is weird that's the funny thing. No such thing as normal.

Fnaf was milked to death back in 2015.This is nothing to be proud of considering the games are pretty ######### tbh.
Meanwhile never bought any games and just read about the lore lol

There are plenty of good licenses around, why should we care for FNAF? In fact the playerbase of FNAF is notorious for beeing full of children. Do we need those kids around in DbD? Usually, at least from my experience, they tend to be toxic. Something i can despense.
You know Kids play Dead by Daylight and some Adults act like kids right?

I understand your point about ignoring low-effort threads, but that's not the main issue.
Right now, most people are burned out from the constant FNAF spam. No matter how well thought out the idea is, people are going to respond negatively, it's just human nature. It's not feasible to expect people to respond logically once they've been riled up like this. If you actually want to have an honest, open discussion about it, the first step is to stop mentioning it altogether for a prolonged period of time. Let people actually have a break from the subject.
Even if every single thread was well thought out, if they were posted nonstop, people would still respond negatively. The quality of the threads doesn't stop people from being fed up with the topic.
To summarize, if you want people to stop being angry about FNAF and to respond to it the same way they respond to other topics, then you need to act like people who post those other topics.
That means no more thread spam, giving people a break from the subject for some time (I'd wager at least a chapter - not counting this one - before tempers have cooled), being honest about when the new chapter teasers are or aren't compatible with FNAF (I've seen people literally say they know it's Hellraiser and not FNAF, but that they were claiming it was FNAF anyway - this just makes people angrier), and being honest about the franchise itself (yes, it was marketed to kids and most of its playerbase was teens and kids back in the day).
Very true.
Funny thing this is my first discussion talking about fnaf in almost 2 years of being here.
Just wanted to give some advice since I know there are still gonna be Fnaf spam but at least have threads actually be engaging to read and actually attempt to persuade the reader.
I gave up on Springtrap on this chapter because of the "Sound leak" if you know what I mean.
I got sick of pure hostility to it even though its because of Spam I wanted to share reasons for the hate so people can understand it better why it's hated.
I love how people want Fnaf in game but most fans spam it here which gets hate.........killing the very thing they like which is ironic.

No I did. What I said is true. You lessen the chance of it being added when you keep spamming the forums with it. I don't care how good a concept is when concepts for the SAME KILLER are spammed everywhere. I was fine with him at first and now I don't want him here out of spite for FNAF fans. If you want him as bad as you claim you do, don't mention him anymore.
Spamming is giving no information or same generic post.
I am giving reasons why Fnaf is getting hate and why people should "Move on".
Can't even be Civil and tell people to "Shut the Hell up"
I also mention spamming of Fnaf and against it but I am sorta fed up having Fnaf getting unwanted hate.

This was a well-thought out post and I appreciate that you took all this time. Honestly, though, I’m just tired of hearing about FNAF.
I’m not a fan of the games, but if you are, go nuts. Not my place to tell you what you can and can’t enjoy that doesn’t harm anyone. I probably will just skip the future threads about it, but I just want to not hear about it for a little while.
Before anyone asks, yes, I’m also sick of 300000000 “nerf DH”, “Remove camping” etc posts. Every day I’m tempted to make a “here’s what everyone has already posted about a million times so you don’t have to” thread.
Same to be honest, I made points even here that reasons why Fnaf gets hate because of the spam.
Even pointed out most people hate it because people are like "Add Fnaf" in thousands of discussions.. They give no reasons or information why Fnaf would be good or benefit DBD by being a chapter.
Also ironically this is my first Fnaf post because I always know there is always gonna be hostile people but got sick of people hating on Fnaf so just gave forums my few cents.

Or - and hear me out on this - I know it's a groundbreaking idea.
People could use the search feature before making a new post to see if their idea has already been posted! Thereby not clogging up the recent discussions tab with threads everyone has seen before.
Pretty sure most of them are low-effort ones and ones are actually worth looking at are just do deep in the pile.
Like a discussion could be "I want Fnaf ingame" as title and "Add Fnaf" in the description which most likely are 90% of them sadly.
The ones with actually effort are just hidden very well from lot of the spam Fnaf ones. I still remember some person spamming Fnaf in DBD with Springtrap long ago and posting fake info saying "Dawko confirmed it" with some photoshopped tweet and some other random crap. Don't know what happened to the person but glad they stopped doing it since made me not want Springtrap in-game for a long time.
Again there are some good discussion made with effort but usually covered up by sheer amount of short worded discussions for Fnaf which also cause lot of people to get sick of hearing Fnaf.

Idk man. Dbd has some seriously demented killers. Like those teens that were peer pressured into killing people. I think fnaf is to kiddie for dbd.
Hmm yeah that is true, they did also add some Star that has nothing to do with tricks but just the name.
-
Meanwhile I just think Springtrap is perfect.
Caused a pizzeria franchise that was made for families be feared by them because of murders and the missing children which now haunt the animatronics unable to move on into the afterlife.
Then in an ironic twist Wiliam afton gets killed by his creation, the suit he wore to kill and commit the murders. Just like the children in the animatronics, now it's his turn to spend miserable years in a decaying, rotting suit. Even 30 years pass later and the Fazbear fright's fire did not end him.
He only finally died once Micheal [His son] and Henry burned William afton inside the reopened Freddy Fazbear building while they also in there. Now currently, William Afton lives in his own hell, facing the monsters he created from his foul deeds. There is no winning or losing, there is no 6:00 am goal. Just the never ending nightmare of his so called "Legacy".
High chance this chapter is Pin Head but I still think Springtrap will come to Dead by Daylight someday.

You're allowed to have your own opinion. That being said, I am allowed to have the opinion that your stance doesn't make sense.
True but does not mean gotta keep saying "you're in denial" all the time.

If you know it's gonna be Pinhead, then you don't think it's too good to be true. You can't say "I know it's gonna be Pinhead" and also say "the clues are too good to be true." They are contradictory to each other. If you think it's the first one, then you are not in denial about that, but then you don't actually believe that the clues are too good to be true because you do agree with the conclusion they point to. If you think it's the second one, then you don't actually believe it's gonna be Pinhead and thus are in denial.
Ok so how about this.
Clearly your just gonna drag this on until you wanna hear what you want so just gonna say this again finale time since kinda getting fed up.
I am not in denial.
I just think its weird/off but does not mean it is to everybody.
I can have my own opinion on the matter without people forcing me to change.
So there, now leave it alone.

Simple. Because that is not the only thing that you are denying. You are also denying that it's definitely gonna be Pinhead at this point. :P
You just said that is the only thing I am denying is you saying I am denying than you also I deny Pin head.....which is it?
Cause again I am saying clues look too good to be true. Not saying "Oh clues are fake".
I know its gonna be Pin head but the clues just feel off to me though I am not in denial which you lovely keep mentioning.

You'd be wrong, but that's okay.
OK so how am I wrong if I deny that you are saying I am denying?
All I said was clues are just too good. Never said once that "Oh killer is not gonna be Pin Head but Fred Flintstone"
That's denial

Saying "seems too good to be true" is pretty much what being in denial is.
Um.....I am just saying that. Not denying the evidence we have is fake I am saying just looks too good.
Kinda like finding the pepper jack cheese for a sandwich just to realize I had not bought Pepper jack Cheese in 6 months after taking a bite.
Again not denying anything, so maybe not try and not diagnose what my meaning is literally.

Sounds to me like being in some level of denial purely for the sake of it.
Not denial.

To be fair Slender Man isn't really that popular anymore and certainly had his five minutes of fame awhile back. When compared to the horror icons of the 80's a lot of the newer horror characters/creepy pasta don't really hold a candle to them as well.
Definitely give Hellraiser a chance though as it isn't like most of the other horror film killers the game has. Why not give all of them a go as the 80s icons in a lot of ways was the golden era of horror.
True but Slenderman was one of those characters you could basically make any horror story if you follow Slender mythos aka Tentacles, Teleportation, 8 pages, static, etc.
I do agree with 80's killers being ingame but Slenderman would be an interesting yet fun killer to have ingame if done right. For a character that was popular for 6 to 7 years Devs should give him a chance.

Again, doesn't really matter.
Most people will recognize him based off of the stabbings. That's not a good look for ANY company.
True but Sony did not care......which in result Movie still sucked.
Dead by Daylight Devs would do a better revival than Sony ever did. Slenderman deserves one more shot to be in the good media again since he was quite popular for 6 to 7 years so at least give him another chance.
-

-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2427598#Comment_2427598
And why didn't people go see the movie?
Probably because the only thing 95% of them ever heard about Slenderman was the stabbing case.
Saying it didn't contribute heavily is foolish.
Also reason people did not see the movie was because Sony did not even use the Slender Mythos or anything that people recognized with Slenderman.
No 8 pages, no cameras, no classic jumpscares, and hardly Slenderman in the movie.
Blum house would have done a better movie than Sony.

Regardless, he has a terrible reputation.
Because people choose to focus on that solely when thinking about him.
Other fictional characters "influenced" bad actions but we ignore it to preserve the character we like for example Freddy Kruger which I am not gonna go into detail why but has nothing to do with Reboot.
Main point is just because some how a fictional character was involved in a real life event should mean we always have to associate it with what happened and just let all the good memories we had of it just rot away to never be brought up ever again.
I get it if someone involved with the creation or has a connection to a fictional character like a story writer that was involved in something bad which in response most people will hate or be uneasy to see it be popular.
In Slenderman's case it was just some random girls that just read about Slenderman on the internet which everyone has access to. Not the creator or someone connected to him just random people.
Heck he was the first internet horror character just to be made by the internet by random people based on 2 pictures for a contest.

"We didn't want to go, we didn't want to kill them"
"Notable for being taken the day which fourteen children vanished and for what is referred to as "The Slender Man"
These are both taken directly from the lore. Whilst video games are not the cause of people's actions, they do influence them. Bringing Slenderman back would be in bad taste, just like Jeepers Creepers would be. Likewise, the character is often depicted in a more benevolent way these days. It has changed considerably from the original way back in '09 and it has never regained it's popularity.
Well I am just gonna say this.
They said they talk to lord Voldemort and the teenage mutant ninja turtles. So pretty sure they would have done it with a different fictional character that all I am gonna say.
Also with Jeepers Creepers is different. Director that helped make the movie did bad stuff. No one in creation or real life connection of Slenderman did anything bad just some random girls.
[edit] PS I am still hating how people give Slenderman the bad rap. Did nothing wrong and was used to make scary stories and video games.

They won't do Slenderman.
Everyone's dropped it after what happened to that poor kid, and rightfully so.
To be honest Slenderman does have a chance since quite bit of people would like to see him ingame.
It's awful for what happened to the kid but not really fair to put the blame on Slenderman and say he caused all of this so we should forget he ever was created, which is what most people's thoughts go right to automatically sadly.
100% Devs could revive him and do it better than Sony's attempt.......which is bold of me to call an "Attempt"

No, most Candyman fans realized it wasn't Candyman early on. The other fandom, however, is denying that a file literally titled "Hellraiser chapter" (and some other stuff) is conclusive evidence that the new chapter is Hellraiser.
And you still don't find it a little suspicious about the Video thing called "Hellraiser_Finale"?
Which is English on a different language post of the teaser.

Tbh I am just hoping for Springtrap but I will wait for more clues.

I'm still not convinced about showing another character. Like, if they shown James Sunderland and added Heather Mason instead for Silent Hill, because PH is from Silent Hill 2 (as James) and Heather from Silent Hill 3.
I'm not convinced either the H is a hint. Contrary to the other letters, this one was hidden and not that clear. But if the H is a hint, it doesn't work with "I always come back" as there is no H. It does with "I'm still here" tho.
A sentence seems a bit too long to spell out with one letter a day, and a name seems too obvious at this point... It could be something else.
Yeah true, also H is most likely not a hint since too hidden compared to the other letters.
I still think its gonna spell "Fazbear Fright's" or "I am still here" with an official H
first quote might be too long but "I am still here" just needs a H, M, and L to make the complete quote which is 3 days.

Freddy is the one with a hat? Well, I thought it's be weird to show another character instead of the Killer.
I don't know what to think now. People were sure it was FNaF, now it's Hellraiser... I'm lost.
Well thought it was a hint that Springtrap is gonna be the killer since showing a picture of Freddy aka bear with top hat is the main animatronic used in the pizzeria because its called "Freddy Fazbears Pizza".
Plus only character in Fnaf that would work as a killer is Springtrap since he is the only killer in the series.
Also people are saying Hell raiser cause a H was shown in a pic that was confirmed by Twitter guy to not be a clue and we got a E on a japan dbd pic.
I still think we are gonna get a Springtrap puzzle or a quote that says "I am still here" or "I always come back"

Was a mistake, gotta have a certain brightness setting and guess a certain app.
Had a friend did it and they got that result, I did it and did not get a good result.
Guess brightness on dbd pics don't do a good job revealing secrets.
was supposed to be a Freddy head in the corner but idk anymore.

Ah, might have been just a app that accidentally altered it when brightened up
