Don't even need to spend real money on him, just "buy" him with shards (playtime).
That’s what I did. And I don’t plan on playing him at all. Just want his perks which are all pretty good (at least compared to a lot of other killers’ perks)

Not a fan of the new pallets. I don't know why they wasted their time on them when they've already had multiple graphic reworks - who was complaining about their looks to get yet another graphic rework?
They wasted time/resources giving pallets another graphic rework instead of focusing on the fog that looks horrible on alot of maps (Farm map looks like random little bits of exhaust) and the fog causes performance issues because it's poorly optimized. Focus should be on that instead of pallets that were fine as they were.
Exactly. Nobody was asking for this change, yet someone at BHVR decided this was a priority when there are 1000 other issues with the game that continue to get ignored. Super frustrating, but I guess people keep playing the game so the devs don’t see any problems here
-
I hate it too. Yet another change that nobody was asking for and makes the game worse for a lot of player
-
I guess people can stop playing and/or spending money on the game if they aren’t happy with this. Why shouldn’t BHVR do what they can to maximize revenue? It’s a for-profit business and they wouldn’t be doing their jobs if they weren’t trying to increase the $ coming in the door. It’s impossible to make everyone happy, so they are going to spend time and resources on the characters that bring in the most revenue. I have zero problems with this
-
There is a bug, but the devs are refusing to killswitch it. If you want to play killer, “tough luck” seems to be their response to this. Kind of makes you wonder how broken a map has to be to actually be disabled.
-
It’s both a bug and a feature

I literally just spent half hour looking for two survivors who were quite frankly hiding for 30 minutes.
I even checked with the clock to not to lie. They begun the game normally and then were just hiding. I went around whole map looking for them but never found them after the first sighting.
And now, due having also earlier bad connection I am on the cool down for a long time. This sucks. And they, naturally, get no penalty.
In games before this smart bunch there was rage quitters: half of the team leaving before being put in a hook?. I this what this game truly is about?
Edit: Luckily it was only 5 min cooldown. But man!
This has been a problem for a long time. It‘a not terribly common in my experience but it is incredibly annoying when it happens. All the devs need to do is implement a mechanic that will reveal survivors’ locations if they (the remaining survivors collectively) don’t touch a generator after a certain period of time. A sort of “shot clock” for the game. It’s a very simple solution but hasn’t been prioritized by the devs

So, arguments have been made that if it’s “in the game” it’s a viable strat. Body blocking, face camping, tea bagging, whatever. So with the quit game button, does that make it a viable strat? Say, leaving a game to let a teammate get hatch, prevent the completion of that final Gen. Why is that button there? Say your game is all wonky or glitchy and that’s why it’s there, so you can leave, but you still get a penalty for any reason you push that button. Why not just remove the button?
BHVR have stated that they realIze there are valid reasons to leave a game and that it should be very rare. That’s why the initial DC penalty is small and resets if you don’t do it all the time. I think it’s punitive enough to discourage repeated DCing and keeping these types of players from ruining too many matches for others

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter! Kill switching is something that is done with a lot of consideration and many factors need to be considered; please be assured the team is actively looking into this issue!
This is a really disappointing response. I realize that nobody on the dev team wants to kill switch a brand new map, but it’s absolutely miserable to play as killer and there have been a ton of complaints on this forum and other forums already. The specific complaints are 1) it is bugged with too many pallets and 2) it’s very difficult to see scratch marks and elements of the map look very similar to scratch marks.
Unfortunately it looks like there are plenty of killers that are still willing to play right now so I guess there’s really no incentive or urgency to kill switch the map. As long as there are enough people playing the game these problems will not be addressed quickly, it seems.
-
@entertainment720 said:
Howdy! So you're aware, there is a bugged tile that's spawning too many pallets.
Why hasn’t it been killswitched then? How long will killers have to put up with this? This map spawns every other game so it’s not like killers only have to deal with it infrequently

In before they move/delete this one like every other thread complaining about the new map. They need to kill switch this pile of garbage now.

They don’t test or play their own game. If they did, there’s no way the new map would have been released.
-
How are we validating this “all-time high” claim? Are there camping stats available somewhere?
Also, when I play killer I am 100% going face camp on the new map until the devs fix that flaming pile of garbage. I would prefer to just DC so everyone can move on to the next match but that’s against the rules 🙄
-
Players need to understand that the only way you’re going to have a functioning SBMM system is if there is a large enough pool of players. Unless you can figure out a way to instantly create a huge pool of available players at exactly your skill level and exactly the time you want to play, you’re either going to have to be OK with waiting a very long time for the “perfect” match or you’re going to have to be OK with being paired with other players who are available to play right now but probably aren’t at your same skill level
-
Yes - it is a huge problem. The devs apparently tested this piece of garbage and thought it was ok to release
-
Fogwise is pretty useless for a SWF unless you happen to be facing a stealth killer and then maybe it has some value. It’s just giving you information that you can get by communicating on comms. Throw it in the dumpster with Kindred and other perks that SWF get for free
-
@Unimatrix00 said:
Are others having difficulty seeing scratch marks in the new map?
Yes. This map is a pile of trash product that the devs should have never released. They do not play or test their own game
-
@Lost_Boy said:
New map is utter trash. Like a million safe loops and pallets connected on a pretty small map. Can't see scratch marks very well because of the environment. Lots of really small environment objects you get stuck on. Environment in general doesn't have much in the way of colour variation.
Shaping up to be my new most hated map already!
Totally agree. New map is horrible for killers. I just played it for the first time as killer and could barely see scratch marks, plus there are elements of the map such as parts of walls that the exact same color as scratch marks so you go out of your way to locate a survivor that isn’t there.
This is yet another example out of a garbage product that would take a casual player 2 minutes to identify as a show stopping problem, yet the devs after months of supposedly careful development and testing go “yep, looks good - ready for release!”

After peanits comment on my other thread, im encouraged to give it another try all though my last post about Shattered hope when it released wasnt getting any notice. So i kinda gave up on balancing discussions.
Mainly i want to see what the overall playerbase thinks. I could do a poll for it but i think it would be better to have an open conversation, why yes or no and what good suggestions we might come up with for nerfs or reworks.
Because i think COH and DH still need nerfs.
Why do they need nerfs in the first place?
-> Circle of Healing because its infinite. I would say shattered hope should be basekit, hexes are high risk, mid/low reward most of the time, it would be fair and square if boons were the same, if not, then at least have counts to them. A max of 2 or 3 for all boons, infinite just is too strong. Or just nerf COH solely and let the other boons be as they are, i just feel they can get abused as much all though they get less used than COH. (looking at you exponential)
-> Dead hard provides a loose loose scenario no matter what. A killer can and will adapt to baiting it out/not fall for 360 into DH tactics etc. But by all adapting there is, its still a loose loose scenario. No matter if you mindgame it or fall for it, you loose time. Every second counts, maybe not if you play the nurse but most if not all M1 killers can not spend any seconds for free. Also Auto DH is a thing and needs to be dealt with.
So much for my reasoning why COH and DH need nerfs. How to nerf them? what exactly? maybe you have an idea if you agree on the topic in the first place.
Both were extremely problematic before their nerfs and now I think they are mostly fine. I don’t have major issues with either when I play killer. With CoH I find that survivors waste an awful lot of time setting up boons and self-healing. I can bait out Dead Hard at least half the time

I quess people don't like worse Artist that has less gameplay and takes way less skill.
I jumped on to play a few survivor matches to see how bad it would be and got Artist, Ghostface and Pyramidhead in my first three matches

It’s great for solo q but it’s yet another perks that is useless if you’re in a SWF on comms. It’s pretty amazing that some people continue to argue that SWF on comms is not a huge game-breaking advantage when a growing number of survivor perks are just worse versions of information benefits that you get for free by communicating on comms.

Doctor - Annoying
Huntress - Ok
Bubba - DC

Twins - Very Annoying,DC
Trickster - Annoying
Nemesis - Annoying,DC
Pinhead - Annoying
Artist - Very Annoying,DC
Sadako - Ok
Dredge - Ok
Wesker - Annoying
Overall I feel like most survivors dont really enjoy the game or playing againts most killers unless they're really bad,and dc most of the times againts most killers.
Disagree with a lot of those. I play both sides and when I play survivor, the only killers I hate going against are Pinhead (pointless to try in solo q), Legion (super annoying and boring) or a skilled Nurse (survivors usually have no chance). I’m fine going against every other killer.
I don’t know why anyone would DC against Bubba. I think he’s one of the easiest killers to counter and I always enjoy going against him. If you get caught though, yeah there’s probably a chance you’ll get face camped.

... how was I pitted against four survivors with less than a hundred of hours each?
I was on one of my best killers and I've got almost 3k hours on that account.
That's the kind of MMR flukes I don't get.
edit: the only peculiar game was a 45 minutes ones against bullies but I still got 3 of them.
The SBMM system doesn’t work. It’s that simple. There aren’t enough players across all skill levels in both killer and survivor roles to make for efficient matchmaking. It probably works a bit better during peak times when there is a larger pool of players, but most of the time the system isn’t going to work at all because it would take way too long to make a “fair” match with available players all around the same MMR level.

anyone else noticing a peak of DCing people? like its insane i have seen more DCs this whole weekend than in last 2 weeks playing.
had like 10 games yesterday, 6 killers and 4 as survivor. Or it was vice versa, i dont keep track. But out of 10 games there was 7 DC's from AT LEAST 1 person. one game it was even multiple DCs.
And now, first round this evening nemesis dced because of 0 hooks and 3 gens done. I get the frustration but i dont get the bailing.
like why bother playing a pvp multiplayer game if you gonna quit whenever it doesnt suit you? Am i only having some REAL bad luck to get as many DCers or are the penaltys gone again? Cant play even 1 game normally.
No. DC frequency seems about the same as always for me. I see one in maybe 1 out of every 8-10 games.

Killer: For me, hands down NOED. One of the most frustrating perks in the game. Just gives subpar killers free kills at the end of the game. Hate it as survivor, and i refuse to use it as killer on principle.
I mean at least don't hide it. When last gen is done just show survs the exposed status. So they know not to go for yolo unhooks and can at least look for the totem instead of feeding the killer. The amount of games times it turns a 0 or1k game into an unwarranted 3 or 4k is stupid.
If i die to bloodwarden or no way out I can deal with that. But NOED is simply infuriating.
Survivor: no mither. I mean why is it even in the game? It is just actively useless. Should give a huge bp bonus and silence pain grunts totally. Even then it'd still be pretty garbage.
Eruption. Obvs.

@dspaceman20 said:
I think a 75% reduction to grunts of pain was enough to nerf the perk the the exhaustion condition is not needed imo just remove it is unnecessary

Iron will is now a trash perk that nobody should ever use. It’s really depressing - I used to use it all the time :(

So i've played dbd since 2017 and ive taken a little break every now and then (after legion got released for obvious reasons :p) and now. I dont enjoy the game anymore killers have been so hard buffed that every match is a loss if you play soloQ. Teammates run the killer for 10 max 20 sec and DC or just suicides on hook its unplayable unless ur a 3 or 4 man swf or sometimes on rare occasions when you do get decent teammates. Almost half my matches are DCs or suicides on first hook. + There are also a sh*t ton of camping and tunneling like before but whatever :P
Do you guys find the game more enjoyable now or did you like it more a few years earlier? (both killer and survivor)
I keep seeing comments about solo q being terrible, but hasn’t it always been terrible? I can’t remember a time in the history of this game when you could count on consistently good teammates in solo q. From what I’ve experienced, this has always been a problem and will always be a problem. It doesn’t help that BHVR continues to drag their feet on buffing solo q with simple changes to add information to let teammates know what you’re doing. They could have done this years ago but have refused to prioritize it.

The perspective of the question is an interesting one to me. As a Survivor main/occasional Killer, I do try to be as fair as possible. Survivors often go to bat for Survivor buffs, and Killers often go to bat for Killer buffs. But what about an honest insight into the other role?
So Survivors, which Killers (if any) do you honestly think need a buff? Do you have any ideas on what those buffs would be?
Poor Trapper needs some love. A good start would be to make it so he can’t get caught in his own traps. Seems like an unnecessary downside to his power.

First of all, I rarely see Trickster, period. But even when I do, I don’t see rage quitting as a problem (at least any more frequently than any other killer). I personally really enjoy playing against Trickster. His power doesn’t seem OP and has plenty of counterplay.

"Legion is worse to face than any other killer"

Ah yes. Mending for 12 seconds = boring... BUT healing myself multiple times in a corner of the map with Boon: CoH (which takes 24s) is fun! I also LOVE repairing for 90 seconds, but god... I AM NOT spending 12 seconds mending!!!!!
Legion more unfun than any of those killers listed because matches are usually just insanely long mending simulators. I think this is what most people hate Legion for, not that they’re OP. For all the other killers you listed, the matches are usually going to be much shorter. I personally don’t find doctor or artist that difficult to deal with. Pinhead is awful in solo q, so probably my least favorite killer to face unless I’m in SWF. Nurse is only miserable to face if you’re going against a god-level player who is good at predicting your movements.

@Zboard said:
Considering killer and survivors play normal, why still exist matches with 12 hooks/1 gen or 5 Gens/ 1hook?
How is matchmacking failing so hard?
As a both sides player, is not rare for me to have these type of matches few times a day, playing 2h, specially on weekends (for some reason?)
Matchmaking is only going to work well AND quickly when there is a large enough pool of players across all MMR levels on both sides. This is almost never the case, which is why SBMM is effectively useless in this game. The only way for it to be “fair” is if you’re willing to wait a very long time for SBMM to get just the right combination of available players. Today I was playing solo q and kept getting matched with very good teammates and what appeared to be very inexperienced killers. I felt bad for the killers and can understand why new players are turned off by this game because the matchmaking is horrifically bad. Other days I’ll get matched with terrible solo q teammates against sweaty god-level killers. It’s just so inconsistent
-
@Jackal7879 said:
This perk is the bane of solo-q survivors you are incapacitated for 25secs and the perk itself has a 30 second cooldown. Also you can proc it by downing someone by any means. The cool down is so short that by the time you down someone hook them and get to a gen it’s ready for to go.
i feel the cooldown needs to be longer or the incapacitated needs to be shorter
And even as killer this perk has won me games that I should not have because I held a 3 gen with eruption and SH:Pain Res as my only slow downs
and those games can go on for long time especially if the survivors have Boon:Circle Of Healing
100% agree. There’s a reason this perk is so common - it’s very OP. The only counterplay is “you have to be in a 4-man SWF on comms”. It’s just no fun at all to go against in solo q
-
Hex perks are usually useless and a waste of perk slots unless you’re playing against baby survivors. If you’re playing against mid- or high-tier survivors, they’ll know where to find the totems and you’ll be down one or more perks very early in the match. Also, half the time your hex totem will spawn right next to a gen in plain sight.

(also, please don't say some rude ######### about "oh entitled killers" or "oh entitled survivors" i just want to talk about this)
Don’t ever feel bad for playing the way you like to play. I’ve seen some killers be intentionally toxic, like one game last night where the killer just let the last survivor lay on the ground for a few minutes before hooking him for no reason. As long as you’re not doing stuff like that, no need to feel bad.

soooooo do i just camp and tunnel, i mean i know a lot of players don't like that, even i don't, but tbh its a very viable tactic and it always works
so im trying to understand players here, do i camp and tunnel and win or are we trying to make the game better and remove tunneling and camp so everyone enjoys the game
because tbh every time a killer that is still playing fairly, when they complain that they are playing a bit too hard to enjoy the game they always get people telling them they are crying....
you complain about getting camped and tunneled "just use perks or maybe you suck?", you complain about getting gen rushed or finding the game a bit too hard without playing toxic "maybe play better or just use perks"
does anyone have any other argument beside use perks or get gud?
The only way you can play without getting complaints is chasing survivors so they can have some killer interaction, but intentionally letting them go so they can t-bag you at the exit gates.

Yes, devs mentioned it a long time ago but like many other game health changes it apparently takes years to implement

@Minaaa said:
Are there any plans to buff survivors?
The 100% blood points for survivors is literally always active so it is pretty clear no survivor wants to play anymore.
I used to play quite a bit but now am down to once every 2 weeks, the infamous patch pretty much ruined the game for me.
Whenever I do play now will lose 90% of my games because tunnelling is rampant, although eventually, the game will feel bad for me and pit me against a totally new killer so i can have one boring win.
So am asking the original question because I want to know if I should bother logging in once every 2 weeks or just give up on DBD completely if there are no plans to reach a semblance of balance.
I think the best way to buff survivors now is to implement the info icons to help solo q know what their teammates are doing. SWF doesn’t need any buffs, and this change would be neutral for SWF and a positive for solo q. Unfortunately BHVR have been dragging their feet on this as they do with many of their game health changes, prioritizing cosmetics and new content instead.

I don’t think she’s OP at all. Also, she seems buggy as hell. It’s always a crapshoot whether your corrupt puke will register a hit on the survivors or not.
-
I’ve been getting RPD a lot as well and it’s made me stop playing the game for a few days now. Every match I have played on that map as either killer or survivor has been absolutely miserable.

I still think the excuse of "we can't give killers individual hook counters because it would facilitate tunneling" was one of the lamest excuses ever pulled in DBD balance history. If someone wants to tunnel, they are going to tunnel. Hook counter be damned. All reserving the individual counter does is make life more painful for people who want to 12-hook or otherwise want to avoid tunneling because then I have to keep track of everyone's hook states to make dang sure I'm not tunneling—and even then that doesn't work because they're all playing Claire and I can't tell them apart anyways.
Totally agree. This was another one of those super lame excuses that we always get from the devs when they just don’t want to do something that the community is asking for

As a killer main, whenever I see the RPD map, which feels like every other game, i instantly want to just out the controller down, let the survivors do the gens, and move on. It’s an absolute maze and a horrible map. It’s extremely survivor sided IMO. Thousands of hallways and exits and whatever. Behavior even realized this and had to split it up into 2 parts. I hope RPD gets removed the same way Hawkins did. Just absolutely miserable. Hawkins wasn’t even that bad. I’ve also noticed Lampkin Lane has endless loops as well. Survivors run the same loop over and over and over again. It’s like watching a movie over a hundred times. It just makes me say out loud, “here we go again.”

Title.
Everyone and their mother uses Eruption now.
It is fine otherwise but the incapacitated lasts way too long and there are no counters (other than being in a SWAT team SWF). As a solo survivor, there is no way to predict or anticipate the effect of this perk (unlike Pain res for example). Also, other survivors do not know if you have the incapacitated effect, which causes miscommunications and frustration (e.g. you cannot heal others and they do not know this).
These kind of perks, where effectiveness of the perk inherently depends on if you play with your friends on comms or not, are fundamentally bad design and something needs to be done to bridge the gap between solo and swf. Nerfing perks like these is a good start.
Killers use it because it’s an OP, busted perk and the devs haven’t bothered adjusting it yet. I don’t blame killers for using it - why not use it if it’s available?
