i never said it is the devs fault for bad teammates. please don't put words in my mouth.
I am am not putting words in your mouth. You start with a statement calling the DEV ignorant. That is not particularly constructive, nor likely to get you the response you want. You follow up by complaining that you can't survive. If I were to, like any English teacher would, diagram your sentences I would show that you blame bad teammates for it. The other stuff you mention have NOTHING (absolutely nothing) to do with your survival rate. So whether you know it or not, that OP blames the DEV for you having bad teammates.
Your other gripes are your other gripes, and there is nothing wrong with them. They are, however, irrelevant to the main issue you are upset about. We all face the same problems. Some of us survive JUST FINE. Stop blaming other people or the company for your own failures. It has no dignity. Own your problems. Control the things you can control.

Devs. You guys are honestly very impulsive and ignorant. I can't even play a game without depiping. I work my ASS off to survive but still can't survive. I keep deranking every match because of the teammates I get. Nobody asked for the new animations or HUD. You guys don't even listen to your community who try and help you make this game better. You guys only follow your path and never take advice from us. I don't understand why some things need to be rectified immediately but the ones that need to be fixed immediately are put off. For example, you guys are so worried about getting killers in the game but you don't even pay attention to what needs to be fixed. I love this game but, the state that it is in may make this game decline. I can't rank up. My teammates are all over the place. I'm sorry that I'm this serious but it must be said. You guys don't even play your own game too often which can show that you guys don't have REAL empathy for us. But with that being said, I don't hate anything about this game. It's my favorite game to play in my free time. I just wish you guys would pay attention to the things that are significant.
Have a great day! Feel free to give me criticism
How exactly is you having BAD teammates the DEV's fault? Do you think they can magically match you with only Superstars? :) Your other gripes have nothing to do with your MAIN complaint, i.e. your teammates suck. That is on you and them to correct.

I got all my survivor and killer rift tasks done so I've just been waiting for Level 2 to be released with just my daily tasks to give me purpose. Maybe I shouldn't do these tasks because they're always on my non-Prestige 3 characters with less than optimum perks.
I've been trying to get Kate to survive to open an exit gate, but the first match had 2 survivors crouching across the map (I saw this from the start with my Bond), allowing the 4th survivor to get to the second hook stage and then left me to die on my second hook so they could get the hatch together because one of them brought a key (I didn't notice this).
Game 2: I brought a key and decided I was going to be selfish and play like those other survivors. Except every time the killer saw me, they stopped everything they were doing and tunneled me to take the key out of the match. And the window hits have never felt worse than they did with this update with this Blight.
I'm trying to find the point in playing this game if all I do is wait for more rift tasks. It just feels like all the good players have left the game, and all we're left with are crappy survivors who don't do crap in this game.
For all the people who complain and say Solo is nothing but hell, I assure you it is still possible to play. Is it harder? Yes. Can it still be fun (and can you still win)? Yes. I play most games Solo and I do ok. When it comes down to it I'd rather be with a team of ALL Solos than a damn 2 or 3 Person SWF. That is what is awful for Solo Players, being treated like the Red Shirt.

@PodgeNotRodge said:
I mean it needs a change. Yes. But does it need the current idea change, fuckn hell no. And let me explain why:
Current change is basically now: Once unhooked, you have 1 minute of DS at tier 3 so if you go down by tunneling, you get an escape of shoulder free card. But doing literally anything will negate it. Ok. So same as before but now you cant do anything.
Heres why that doesnt work for survivor more than it does for killer.
A survivor with 1 minute DS must now make a choice.
Option 1: Be useless for a full minute doing nothing to progress the team for the sake of holding on to DS. Deliberately get tunneled but killer picks up on this... slug. Useless anyways.
Option two: Waste DS in that split second thinking the killer is going for someone else, attempt heal, 20 to 30 seconds later, killer spots you, downs you. DS useless.
Option 3: jump in and out of a locker in Hope's the killer will grab you. Killer realises you're being useless... DS useless.
Option 4: On the off chance you may or may not have interacted with something if the killer comes back to you after 40 seconds and downs you. Get slugged on the off chance killer still thinks you have DS... DS useless.
Or Option 5: You do get tunneled and by some miracle not slugged.
So I ask... how is making a survivor perk benefit the killer more a good thing? I mean, it's now made to be an "Anti-Tunnel" perk now but all that is defeated by simply slugging... as it was before change. I get it, I play mostly killer and I dislike eating DS's when I dont deliberately tunnel. I am guilty of slugging sometimes depending on how much they pissed me off. Other times I will deliberately eat a DS.
But this change is dogshit for survivors and now it's gone from a garunteed survivor freebie to a garunteed win win killer freebie. Cause 4 out of these 5 options benefit killer more than survivors. And if you had more than one with DS at once, that's twice as bad for them.
I say again, this needs a good balanced change. Not this current idea that makes them be punished if you potato for a minute, or punished cause you tried doing something but got tunneled 30 seconds later.
Incorrect; you do not pass go, and do not collect $200.00. Your entire premise is wrong because you are working under the assumption that you CANNOT do anything for (60) seconds or DS turns off. That is because you are STILL trying to operate under the framework of using DS aggressively. As soon as you are SAFE, feel free to get on anything you want. Consider the following:
- Killer does not follow you. It does get wasted. You can get on anything you want.
- Killer does tunnel you immediately; you use DS and get a 2nd chance.
- You move off and squat like a toad wanting to save that DS for some reason.
Two out of three of these options are fine for you as a Survivor. Only ONE of them works in favor of the Killer (most of the time). Look if you want to squat like a toad, more power to you, but you don't HAVE to do anything. The only reason to do it is because you are hoping to stun that Killer. That is your choice. But if the Killer does NOT immediately tunnel you, the DS isn't going to be wasted anyway.

Just had a match where everyone was constantly grouped together and the minute I hooked someone they would unhook. Of course most of them had Dead Hard except one. They kept trying to bodyblock and would never leave the hook so forced me to camp. Finally downed the one who didn’t have dead hard and killed him. Everyone else escaped. Think they were a team cause I could never find them for the longest. Also I’m low level Killer 13. Getting ranked with sweaty tryhard reds. The one I killed messaged me accusing me of tunneling and I need to get skills. It’s not my fault they all hovered around the hook and I couldn’t leave. I seriously wanted to DC cause it was the swamp, everything was dark and all everyone do was crouch. I only get one kill and I get hate for it. And of course these survivors were toxic. Constantly tbagging and such. I managed to hook and chase others so I wasnt tunneling. I mostly camped the dude during endgame cause they were constantly around me. All of them.
It made me feel like a loser honestly. They had all the advantages in this match and I had practically none. I was the Huntress. I can throw a hatchet....yay. Honesty doesn’t make me want to play Killer anymore.
Just ignore the after game chatter. Who cares about some nameless, faceless idiot quacking on the internet?

Do you think survivors will just run around when they get unhooked trying to bait the killer into chasing them?
Will they do objectives and deactivate the perk and complain about tunnel and make forums posts about it? (this is not a insult or complain, i am pretty sure it will be a thing)
remove it entirely from their builds?
How do you think this change will affect the game?
I don't think it will affect the percentages of people who run it one bit.

Why are you avoiding the question? I’ve just asked for an estimate
I didn't avoid it. I was quite clear. I don't have enough information to make an estimate, nor do you. If you like, I'd be happy to track my next hundred matches as a Killer and as a Survivor (which would be 200 matches) and count the times I am tunneled, i.e. I'm unhooked and immediately followed by the Killer again and hooked next with nothing in between. *Likewise, how often I do it as a Killer. But to get an estimate, you need real data. Otherwise, you are just guessing and your memory will play you false. You will remember what you want to remember, i.e. whatever feeds your theory. It is seeking confirmation bias.
So, exactly WHAT are you basing YOUR estimates on? You seem to throw around a lot of numbers. Where is that data coming from?

Lately I no longer see anyone using any Memento from either Cypress, Ivory and Ebony in my games when I play survivor. Maybe in your case it is different, but lately in mine I don't see any sign of memento mori. Is it because the rate of increase of the use of the 3 offerings has dropped considerably after the nerf they gave? Since before they used it a lot and eliminated the 1 hanging hook.
The change they made to the Memento (and the Green) was overkill and made them entirely pointless, UNLESS you want to play very dirty and play keep away after your first hook. You can, if you want, use them to force the first hooked Survivor to go to 2nd Stage and then allow the rescue and Mori off the hook taking the game to a 3v1 relatively early. That is the only value they have not, and most people aren't that cutthroat. I never used them that often to begin with as they are counterproductive to points and Emblem advancement. However, if I bring one in, you can rest-assured I'm going to use it to maximum potential and I will use that nasty tactic.

Okay, thats true, sometimes camping is necessary, but its not necessary like, 5 gens left, 1 survivor on hook and a bubba in front of it... Thats not fair, and losing a pip from rank its not even something that killers cares, some of them just want derank to bully newbies. Thats why this matchmaking is not even fair
Accept it, embrace it, or not. It's not fair, but that is just the way things are.

So that why Im saying this, to killers stop camping and learn how to play.
Herding, Camping, Tunneling, Slugging, and the Mori are all niche tactics that Killers can use. It doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing. Done wrong they hurt the Killer; done right they are very potent. Why don't you spend less time worrying about what OTHER people are doing and more on yourself. Control the things you can control. We all face the same problems and obstacles. Some of us seem to be doing fine. That means you need to OWN your own failures and stop blaming the Killer for doing his/her job and start worrying about you doing YOURS.

Okay so, camping the hook its something that a lot of killers does and I think there's should be a change. So, if a killer stay in an area like 20-30 metters of the hook, it freezes, stopping the countdown. That would be fair because, most of this kind of plays ruin the fun of the players and for that, you will need to change some perks that stops the countdown. Camping will also make the killer lose, and I think putting that freeze thing, it will help killers get better and making more pressure on the map. Its my suggestion, if you don't like it don't need to "attack" me.
How about... no. Start working your basics, looping, evading, coordination, etc. Accept that nothing is going to change anytime soon, or ever. You either enjoy the game or you don't.

Hello to anyone reading this, I've started to play DBD for about 2 months now. I have a massive love/hate relationship with this game. It's beyond obvious to anyone who has played this game for more than an hour that matchmaking is horrible. I won't be discussing that but I'd like to talk about a problem worse than that, ranking up to a higher level is way too easy. As stated earlier, I'm only two months in and last month I became a rank 3 survivor and I'm currently a rank 5 killer and a rank 8 survivor. For the killer aspect right now it's basically unplayable because of the complete sweats I'm going up against. I honestly don't care for this competitive style and it's ridiculous how fast I got to rank 5 and I don't even think I belong here. As playing both sides, I can promise you I've seen way too many people at the same level as me that are just superior in every single way. At this rank by the time I even hit someone a gen is done and the second one is basically at 80%. Before I hear just get better or maybe you need a better killer/perks I literally don't care to hear that. I have a great setup and maybe that's why I climbed the ranks too fast but its literally unplayable. Also can someone explain how when I'm a rank 5 killer I'm getting only red rank survivors yet when I'm a 8 rank survivor I get red rank killers? I know I'm not the only one with this problem since my friends are always dealing with this. If you happen to be a sweat or a red rank honestly good for you this isn't to attack people like you, it's me stating you should be put into a lobby against someone of equal skill or at least close. Playing comp that's way too difficult won't make you better, it pushes people away.
Next: hatch is way too luck based. I understand why the hatch is in the game and I'm not saying remove it. But for the love of god get rid of the stupid keys people can find/bring in since its completely based on luck when they find that hatch. With or without a key at this rank I literally have to down someone and keep him down just to find the other guy first to get a 4k. If the killer is at this point the killer basically won, why give a key alternative?
Next: Hex totems need a fix. I think it's great that some perks are hex's since some would be way too powerful to have as a guaranteed permanent perk. With that being said, finding them is stupid. I find that normal totems are hidden 5x better than a hex. I mean come on when I'm using hex ruin some games people literally spawn right next to it or literally have it in their view at the start of the game!!!!!! It's so broken and immediately I'm at a massive disadvantage. They need to be in better locations, right next to a hook or gen like really guys. Take this into consideration since its way too common for people to find it so fast.
Next: Bloodweb is awful. I decided I'd give the shape a try since I enjoyed the movies etc. I have a ton of good perks in my web that can be found and I figured he'd definitely get them. He's currently lvl 42 with no barb-chili, no hex ruin and I just found corrupt intervention (finally). The frustration out of seeing these completely GARBAGE perks pop up 20 times before I can even find barbeque and chili once is ridiculous. I would literally spend extra bloodpoints getting these trash perks out of my web.
To sum it up, yes this entire post sounds real negative but its simply because I love this game. I understand maybe there's going to be people that know much more about this game that will pick this apart, but new players is how this game can grow and the developers will earn more money. Just from myself and my friend I play most with the game got $30 out of us and I'm sure I'm not the only new person out there. If you disagree I'd actually like to hear why but as of now, I'm trying to grind through these problems but its hard.
Ranking up is more a matter of time in grade currently than skill. That is because you are not being matched up properly. For the longest time, as I worked toward Rank-1, I was fighting Red/Purple teams every match from the time I hit Green. About a month ago, we entered the "taste rainbow" phase. As a result, I fight all manner of Survivors and sadly most of them should NOT be in the ring with me. I suspect your ease of Ranking has a lot to do with the "taste the rainbow" situation.

Okay answer this simple question, roughly as a percentage, how often as a survivor do you get tunnelled? Or if you don’t play survivor, then a rough estimate of how often you think a general survivor gets tunnelled?
I play both Killer and Survivor (Solo mostly). On average, I have no clue. Unlike you, I don't just toss out numbers to try and make my case. When I want to test something, I record my games and go back and count. A good sample size is a hundred matches. Do I think people get tunneled near as much as THEY think they get tunneled? No. But short of collecting actual data, as I have for other experiments, I don't assume. For the record, I don't run DS much at all because I don't think I get a good return on it. However, enough people (a LOT of them do) so clearly they must be getting a return.

And as I've said, and everyone can clearly see, your point is pointless. :) By all means, continue... amaze us with your insight... impress us with your acumen. Continue to tell us that the new DS will be useless and how no one will take it. In short order, we will see if you are right or not. That is why I love these Forums because whenever you post some other bit of your odd wisdom, I'm going to to jump on and link them back to this topic so they can know the quality of your credentials. :)

I guess that’s a way to look at it, but in red ranks, all survivors are highly motivated gen rushers. It’s difficult to accept making a build specifically relying on a perk that may get you an end game insta down. In the red ranks, as soon as the survivors see you’ve downed 1 with NOED, they are going to find that totem. Seems like a waste of a good perk spot just to get one survivor down.
Of course they are going to find that Totem, but a good Killer isn't facing 3-4 Survivors at the End Game. More often he is facing 2-3 and the time it takes them to find that Totem generally means getting at least 1-2 of those on hooks or slugging them. Again, it isn't a Build I use often, but I've seen it done very effectively. *It bears noting that I play Myers and when I'm not using a Spooky Myers build (Scratched Mirror + Boyfriend's Memo) I'm usually using a Fragrant Tuft of Hair and have infinite Insta-Down long before the end of the match. That is another reason I don't usually run it. However, when I run my Spooky Myers and "ride the lightning," i.e. I don't put in a map offering, it means I am going to be fighting on larger maps and I do often get to the End Game against a Red Rank SWF fighting on terms not favorable. That NOED at the end can come in quite handy.
It really depends on how good you are at keeping up pressure. The greater the pressure you keep on Survivors, the less time they have for doing Bones and the more desperate they get about doing Generators. It becomes easier to manipulate them into a 3-Gen by carefully herding them. Survivors take the path of least resistance when under pressure and thus you can get the 3-Gen which forces them to come fight on your terms. Then the attrition game starts. Red Rank Survivors will break the 3-Gen but you usually get them down to 1-2 before they do and that is a number that NOED can slug.

I don’t think experienced killers use NOED unless they are doing a gimmick like NOED, & Blood Warden. It’s just a waste of perk slots. There are much better perks to use. So if you’re facing a killer that uses it, either they are new to the game or you are. I guess you could be facing a disgruntled killer who just wants to smash some survivor hopes, & dreams because of an earlier bad beat, but that’s going to be few and far between.
You would be thinking wrong. I'm not trying to be mean, but you do need to understand that NOED is used by all level of Killers. More experienced Killers who take it have specific plans, and are often doing what is called an End Game build. Some top Killers who face Red Rank SWF frequently throw them in because when you are facing a fast Gen-Rush with highly coordinated and motivated individuals, it is nice to have an Insta-Down.
It would be unwise to assume that only Potato Killers use it. It would be better to assume that it could show up at anytime, but with one key difference, experienced Killers are going to use it BETTER. For example, if/when I run NOED (and it isn't a common Perk for me as I'm not huge on the End Game builds) I will purposely ignore their Looper(s) all game. No matter how hard they try to get me to chase them I just decline and focus on the others. After all, their loopers are often NOT on Generators as they try to waste my time. What this means is that when we get to the End Game they generally have less fear of me, have no idea how I loop, and suddenly their first hook is also their final hook.
There are different strategies and styles of play. NOED just thrown in is the sign of a Potato Killer. NOED selected as part of a strategy to be applied during the entire match is going to be far more effective.

How is doing your MAIN objective first is a poor gameplay? And what do you mean by lazy? I do every totem I find in soloq and still can't prevent that pesky perk.
Do I really have to answer this question for you? :) Technically, if you are having a problem with NOED... you kind of already have your answer. I don't think people who don't do Totems are "lazy" but I do think they are gambling. It is a high risk gamble, i.e. will the Killer have NOED or not. It is no different than the gamble the Killer makes when he/she puts NOED in and HOPES it gets to activate. If not, the Killer played one Perk down the whole game.

If the link doesn't work, the timestamp should be 23:25
1 survivor on hook about to die, 1 slugged, 1 OoO injured and too afraid to go for unhook, last survivor runs in for the farm.
Had the grab worked that would have been 1 survivor on hook dead, 2 incapacitated just leaving the OoO. Instead the grab cucks him and survivors get to reset the game and get all gens done.
That's been happening for YEARS now. It happens so often and it has a HUGE impact on how the games play out, as you can see from the video.
I'm sure survivors can put up with a few wonky looking hits for a week longer. Consider yourselves lucky that the developers take survivor gameplay as their utmost priority and not an afterthought like they do killers.
Please stop pedaling a false dichotomy. Game balance, for us as Players and the DEV, is not an "us versus" them situation. We all have a vested interest in achieving the best, ROUGH balance possible. Perfect balance is a nice utopian dream, but not achievable in an asymmetrical game. Most of us play both roles, and do not see it in these limited terms you are pushing.

Lol you clearly don’t understand English or something. Again the stuff you said has nothing to do with what I said. All I explained is that the new DS will be pointless in roughly 90% of games
I understand your posts perfectly. You are not looking at the big picture. How much use do you think people get out of DS now? What percentage of games does it come up in NOW? What I'm pointing out, which you either are missing or purposely ignoring, is that since the new DS has exactly the same utility in so far as tunneling as the old DS, it will get exactly the same use by Players and come up for use just as much. The utility hasn't changed. Thus if you think the new DS is going to be pointless in 90% of games, that means you think it is pointless in 90% of current games. *I disagree with your math. I think it comes up about 30%-40% now for people who use the Perk slot.

Shows what little you know, good killers know WHEN to slug and don't need to tunnel. Bad killers feel like they HAVE to tunnel.
"what rank are you?" reeeeally shows what little you know 😂 After four thousand hours, you'll learn rank doesn't mean Sh*t, bud, do you really not know that? HELLO? this is Dbd we're talking about here.
You make me laugh. Good Killers will Herd, Camp, Tunnel, Slug, and Mori if it is required for a specific match. Good Killers play the game to win. All the tactics that Survivors whine about are niche, i.e. they have a specific time and a place. Used incorrectly they damage the Killer more than the Survivors. Used correctly, they are devastating. In short, good Killers will do whatever they have to do at the time, and not give it much thought one way or the other.

Would you like to actually read what I wrote first before replying to me? I don’t care about the old DS, I never used it and only just got the perk in this shrine. I’m talking about the new DS and how it won’t have any use in 90% of games
I read what you wrote, and I just don't think this theory holds water. Most people take DS to avoid being tunneled. That is as much thought as goes into it. It doesn't have use in most games NOW if you are not tunneled. So it will exactly the same utility in the new form as it has in the current one. So your comments are moot.

Where did I see it doesn’t do the SAME thing it did before in regards to anti-tunnel? What are you on about?
If the Perk does the same thing in regards to anti-tunnel, and the only change is you can't use it to work objectives in the Killer's face, then there is not significant change to the Perk. The only people abusing it to work objectives in the Killer's face were coordinated SWF. The same people who took it for anti-tunnel before, will continue to take it. The only difference is we might not see SWF with all four carrying DS anymore. Good riddance.

But now it’s a pointless perk in most games. Tunneling is quite common, I see it in probably about 20-30% of red rank games as a survivor. But that’s 20-30% tunnelling happening to ‘a’ survivor, to me personally it probably happens 10% of games. That means with the new DS, bringing it does nothing at all for 90% of games.
Then you decide not to bring it because it does nothing, so there’s no obsession in the game, and shock you get tunnelled because the killer sees it. It will become quite a pointless perk most of the time
It does the SAME thing it did before in regards to being anti-tunnel. What are you on about?

That's a terrible explanation. People often times don't do bones when they don't have an incentive to do so. That has nothing to do with how well the killer is distracting you.
You can make an argument about doing bones and whatnot but that has zero bearing on the skill of the killer.
On that note, NO ED is the true blue shell of this game and rewards bad gameplay. It rewards you for failure and its permanent effect is overbearing regardless of if it's a hex or not. It should be 120 seconds like Hope.
Actually you have it backward; NOED punishes BAD Survivor play. Totems are objectives. You are supposed to do them. There is already an incentive for doing them, i.e. point and Emblem advancement. On top of that there is another incentive; the Killer MIGHT have NOED. You are gambling when you choose not to do them, just as the Killer is gambling when he/she puts in NOED and knows it might never get to go off.

To be honest, I'm just worried that after the nerf there will be A LOT of matches where no one is running DS, the killers will see no obsession, and tunnel everyone to death.
All I'm asking for is to make one survivor the obsession every match, regardless of what perks are being used.
...and maybe bump up the stun from 5 sec. to 6 sec., because, lets be real, 5 sec. x 4 m/s = 20 m
A nurse can eat the DS and blink that distance no problem. Is it too much to ask to give the survivors 4 more meters?
Discuss
People will still run DS. The primary function of the Perk hasn't changed.

I'm going to cut to the chase here; you can take what I say on face value or not. The DC Penalties aren't going anywhere. You can extend this thread into the thousands, or create countless more. It won't make any difference. Dead by Daylight only works when the participants take part. There are no Bots, and there are never going to be any Bots. The cost to create working Bots is prohibitive to the ongoing profit. This business model keys on the fact that the Player provide Protagonist and Antagonist. That is all there is to it.
People disconnecting was undermining the system to the point that the actual business model was threatened. It has gone beyond the rude, inconvenience many of us were individually suffering. People are not going to log in and play if they don't get to finish the majority of their matches. That is why there is no leeway anymore in the disconnect penalties. That is why they are never going away. Accept it. Embrace it. Make your peace with it. Nothing prevents you from acting like a jerk, but you will pay a price for it. It is YOUR choice.
-
I put in a suggestion in feedback on how to fix it. An even easier fix would be:
Target hit by a basic attack CANNOT throw pallets for an amount of time based on Level of the Perk. Level-1 means they cannot throw Pallets for 15 seconds, Level-2 means they cannot throw Pallets for 20 seconds, and Level-3 means they cannot throw pallets for 30 seconds. *Then remove the Hex Perk aspect of it, and say only ONE target can be affected at a time.

Wherever it's true or not, we can't possibly know for sure.
What we do know is that it has happened before, and if it is happening again then the Devs will eventually find out and ultimately will have to disable the DC ban until it's fixed.
Absolutely we can. That particular hack was very distinctive and the door to it has been closed utterly. I hate hackers, trace their IPs back... and do things when I catch them. I'm very familiar with the hack the OP is talking about, what was done to deal with it, and can tell you 100% it isn't back.

Pretty certain I saw a hacking Feng when I was playing Huntress, she was running around the shack, not even using the window and after several loops I noticed I wasn't catching up. Now I know the Huntress is slow, but she's not THAT slow.
Furthermore, I was having no trouble downing the other survivors, it was only that Feng. The game ended with a 3k and Feng getting hatch. This was only a couple days ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if hackers are making a return, they ultimately always do.
Hacking? Sure... there is plenty. That isn't what the OP is trying to deal with. He wants the DC penalty to go away and is stretching the truth to try and claim the hack to force others to DC is back. It isn't. :)

It 100% has returned. Just because it hasn't happened to you yet doesn't mean it doesn't exist. :)
When there's an invisible Jake with only a hair cosmetic in the game, that's hacking in mori animations then DCs everyone from the game then laughs in end game chat, it's real. Stop being ignorant.
Right. :) Sure..... whatever you say. You know this isn't going to work right?

I take everything I do seriously; I don't see the point in doing something half-ass.

I feel pretty much the same as I always do. I'm not sentimental about games, nor do I rage against the setbacks that ALL of them seem to go through. Long ago I accepted that this style of video game would always be beset with technical difficulties. Knowing and accepting that, I don't get upset about it. Would I like to see some stuff fixed? Sure. Has it altered my fun at all enough to play something else? Not yet.

I love the swamp maps. Of the outdoor maps, they are one of the best choices for my Spooky Myers.

Wow, someone is quite fond of putting words in my mouth, aren't they? Let me break this down for you a little:
Yes, I do see this as a casual game. I don't see people disconnecting from it as big of a loss of that in other games. And, unlike your narrative of 'Aha! This player hates their teammates and just wants to DC every match' (Which, I will admit might not have been your intent, but to me, you did come off as quite righteous.) this isn't because I'm wanting to be selfish or encourage selfish behaviour. It's because the way that the queue works, the system is unfair to both types of players.
Unlike other games with Competitive scenes like Overwatch, you don't log in to DBD and go into a Competitive-Only queue. You don't log in and go to a Quick Play or casual equivalent. You play against random people who might be playing casually or competitively. You might have a Huntress that is a literal Demi-God who can hit cross-maps like there's no tomorrow in your game, with a full meta build to boot, while you might get an Ace on your team who just wants to try to make friends with the killer. The expectations between the two are vastly different. I think it's fine to play the game competitively, but you shouldn't force a casual crowd into that environment either. Especially since the current, DBD 'Sponsored' Comp system is a Rank system that they themselves admit that doesn't actually show your skill, and a... questionable MMR system.
I just think that, if the game wants us to treat it as a Competitive game- a real, super Competitive game, like Overwatch- they should have more support systems in place for Tournaments, and support a more competitive scene. Which, BHVR themselves seem mixed with, as the game currently kinda feels like it's in an identity crisis of sorts.
No. This doesn't mean I'm selfish. I personally don't DC. I don't encourage it. I don't think everyone should play the game casually, or have to play like me. But I do think that we also shouldn't force everyone to have to play competitively without other options, such as a casual queue. If you want to take every match like it's an E-Sport Tournament, be my guest. But I don't think I should be called 'Selfish' just because I don't think I should have to in average queue, and think that if we want that sort of environment, we need to push for more Tournaments at more skill levels to be held. (Because by God, with the low player count right now, if queues get split, I think the game would die.)
I should also note that overall, I don't DC. I don't encourage it. But I'd also rather a teammate DC then constantly sandbag me, work with the killer to get me killed, blow up my generator, sit AFK in a corner, or just kill themselves on first hook. At least if they just DC, the bandage is off and over with. If they mess around and troll with the team, it just wastes everyones time- which isn't fun for me as a casual player, and for people who do take the matches seriously, I've seen them have freak outs in post game chat over those people. At least if they DC they can't bother anyone.
Technically, as I've said before, there ALREADY is a casual game option. It is called CUSTOM GAME. There you and those who go in with you can set any standards and nobody has to rely on anyone for their advancement. The games don't cost them Add-Ons or Offerings, or Gear.

"this to be possible" being a survivor opting to take themselves out of a match while on the hook (or at least have a 96% chance of doing so). I wasn't asking for anything to be changed in my comment.
It is possible; you are perfectly able to be selfish, screw over the other Survivors, and take yourself out of the match. Unlike a disconnect, suiciding on the hook (although essentially the same thing) is legal. The way I read your post, it sounded like there was some mechanic in the being chased, downed, and hooked that you wanted changed. Now I understand your meaning.
In point of fact, the DEV don't like it when you do it, but yes they let you retain your agency to take yourself out. The rest of us are just commenting on how immature and awful the that behavior is in application.

A while back, there was an issue where some people had a third party cheat or hack that would allow them to force DC other players within the match. To solve this DC penalties were removed for a short time until the problem was fixed. However, since the mid-chapter update, these people have returned with a vengeance and are mass DC-ing people from games.
I think another round of removing DC penalties is needed until the issue can be solved again. I shouldn't be punished for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, etc. because people are forcing me and the survivors out of the game.
Please help us out, the hackers are slowly tearing the game apart.
Nice try, but nope. That has not returned. People are choosing to DC on their own.

A match just started on Blood Lodge. I barely walked five steps before Bubba finds me first. I use a couple pallets in chase, including shack with basement there, then go down in the middle. Get dragged to the basement with Iron Grasp. No DS available on that character. No thanks.
If the devs didn't want this to be possible, they'd have changed the mechanic by now.
So let me get this straight; you got caught and put in the basement, and you feel that is the DEV's fault? What mechanic are you talking about them changing exactly? :) It sounds like you got chased, downed, and hooked.

What I suggest here is a concept. Feedback to determine if it could be good and what should be modified to make it the best way is what I want. But I see with the comments I got that showing only a picture was not a so great idea : I wanted people to get just a global idea of what my concepts offers so they could go see the video I've made about it and get the full version with all the details taken in count. If my entire concept was in this picture, then yeah it would be obviously completely useless and would broke the game more than anything.
I will, per your request, watch the video first before I take out the rhetorical sledgehammer and critique you on the little bit you posted here. However, this had better not just be an attempt to manipulate us into getting hits on your channel. That would annoy me. I'll go into your video with an open mind, but I'm going to be blunt about the fact that I do not believe that any ham-handed mechanics that constrain Player agency, i.e. choice are good for the game. If I wanted to play against Bots, I'd play against Bots in another game. Killers are Players too, and making them wear what amounts to a complicated corset to prevent them from making their own choices goes against the very nature of this game.
Would we also be coming up with complicated, penalizing things to prevent Survivors from camping Generators? I'm not joking here. If you stay within 20' Meters of a Generator you are driven off of will it start to regress if you stay within that range for (5) seconds, and teleport you to the other side of the map if you stay too close for too long? I'm sure that we could mirror your intent for Survivors to and set both roles up with extremely complex rules which take away all agency whatsoever. The games would therefore always be a minimum length.

Just played 3 games in a row where 2 people killed themselves on first hook. Just a PSA that if you are somebody who does this, you should consider not playing the game if you can't handle a core mechanic of it. As an aside, not that it should matter, but the killers for those 3 games were Trapper, Billy and Nurse. The nurse was baby af.
Anybody have similar experiences where somebody let go on first hook for seemingly no reason?
It happens all the time. They are losers, probably in real life too. They leave the other Survivors in a world of pain because of it and don't care in the slightest. Some of them, insane as it sounds, think they are punishing the Killer by doing it.

What about them? 90% of the survivors I play with hide around the map, do nothing and escape through the hatch. Or you save them, heal them, do most of the gens and the first time you get hooked, they leave you to die first hook. Had some survivors message and say it's every man for themselves. Soooo.... I no longer care.
And there you have it ladies and gentleman, the answer to "why does playing Solo suck so hard?" :) This guy, and many like him, simply don't accept that the game is a 4v1. In another thread I had someone, who plays Survivor say, "I cringe when I hear the word team..." and went on to say how it is every man for himself. So let's tell the truth and shame the Devil, Solo doesn't suck because of Killers or nerfs to Perks. It sucks because of a percentage of the Players in it do not pull their weight or even understand WHY they should be doing so.

I DC'd once like when the bans first came out just to test it and I DC'd rn since I was fully sacrificed I just wanted to queue for the next game ASAP since I was irritated none of my teammates saved me or tried to save me (I was on first hook and the killer wasn't even camping) and I have a 5 minute ban????? So does this ever reset or am I gonna DC in six months and just be perma banned.
The first penalty when you disconnect is always 5 minutes.

Nope. There are a dozen ways to abuse this on the Survivor side.

Moundshroud you are going overboard. Chill.
People are free to play the game how they want, just like you. While me and you probably have similar playstyles it doesn't mean everyone else must play like that.
I didn't say they had to. I'm just saying I wouldn't want to be stuck in a foxhole with these guys. There is literally nothing I could say that makes them look less appealing as a teammate than they have said themselves. One of the big topics of discussion is tunneling. People endlessly complain about it, but most of it is brought on by Survivor behavior. For example:
- Unsafe rescues causes tunneling.
- Farming (on purpose unsafe rescues) causes tunneling.
- Vanishing like a Ninja right after unhooking someone (being unwilling to take a hit or hook) causes tunneling.
The most effective teams I have seen as a Killer and been part of as a Survivor myself have been made up of those who are willing to take the protection hits, risk the sabotage, or even take the hook on purpose to draw the killer off a person or an area and thus by time for rescues or Generators. These are the teams that get 3-4 people out pretty consistently even against very good Killers. I'm simply commenting on what I know.

Honestly the word “team” makes me cringe. If wanted to play that way I’d swf. We have mutual overlapping objectives and thats it. I’ll help you when and if I can, but I’ll also throw you under the bus without a second’s thought if necessary. I expect no more or less from others, lol.
Yeah, you and those like you are exactly why Solo Que is such a nightmare right now.

It's quite easy to tell tbh. If we are facing a stealthy killer i can understand why someone is crouching, for instance, but if someone gets hit and the other guy keeps urban evading on the other side of the map then i know what kind of teammate i got.
Also, it's not always about me being able to see them. I also run better together and you would be surprised (or not) about the amount of times i gotta stop working on a 90% gen because some smart guy decided to bring the killer to me while being chased.
I'm holding my tongue to be nice, but let's just say your "situational awareness" is not as good as you think it is in fact. I play a lot and I keep track of my teammates as much as humanly possible, but even I don't know what they have been up to entirely until the end of the match and I look at their points. Survivor is a 4v1 and that means you take the hit. Hell, I'll take the HOOK if it means there is a better chance we all get out together. Thus, if someone is on their third and I haven't taken one, I'm taking the hit and will even go down to make sure they get away because I can serve some hook time.
Your attitude, and confidence in what you think you know, is not a good thing for a group of Survivors. I hope your name in the game is the same as it is here (mine is) because I'm dodging any lobby I get lumped in with you. You don't sound like a teammate I can rely on when things get rough.
