  • Just gonna post these two links here, with two of my concepts that obviously need gameplay and balancing twists but are overall things I wanna see:

    The Ice Queen, Charlie(The Darkness)

other than that some power using insects or spiders but I can’t really picture how that could be implemented...

  • Rule: Don’t run Decisive Strike or Unbreakable, never ever in combo

Rule: Don’t gen rush, if you are not in a chase or on a hook, be idle

Rule: Don’t gen rush, if killer approaches and a gen is almost done you have to let go of it

Rule: Don’t play immersive, don’t hide from the killer

Rule: never ever play Claudette, somehow even pink hat and white jacket Claudettes count for some as a Blendette

Rule: don’t Loop they Killer, looping is boring

    Rule: No flashlights

Rule: No keys, if you bring a key even a broken one, you have to accept that you get tunneled

oh no i think I just read those from another rule book 🤔

  • Another one that only thinks in survivor main or killer main and the ‚us vs them‘ mentality.

    lol

  • I guess Leatherface because of his perk BBQ! Franklins Demise is also pretty good against items..

and since his rework, he is also pretty strong and relatively easy to learn.

Freddy doesn’t have very good perks but overall he is considered the strongest out of those and the easiest to pick up and play.

  • No official date was given. Most likely next Wednesday, but nothing is set in stone

  • 3K and no pip? Was probably a fun game..

bye and see ya in the fog soon

  • There has not been an official date so no, there has not been any delay.

it may come on feb 2nd but speculated is feb 9th. Again, both dates are not officially confirmed in any way..

ok, thank you for telling me the REAL idea of MMR this is just what I have seen so far in my games.

MMR is currently not activated so you have never seen how it will work.

  • Sssshh it’s a bug that directly helps killers and hinders survivors. And the devs didn’t immediately fix it.

those kind of bugs must be ignored so that the ‚devs are survivor biased‘-narrative can live on.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

He can be pretty fun provided they're running a build that doesn't consist of Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, BBQ, and Tinkerer, and as soon as they get that sweet sweet tinkerer proc they abandon all chase regardless of how skilled the person is to protect their oh-so-precious gens. Then it's just boring, especially in solo, when you have little baby Meg who can't last longer than 2 seconds, Claudette in the corner doing nothing productive, and David with No Mither deciding to tbag, get hit, and dc.

Provided they have some ounce of skill and/or creativity, they can be pretty fun and overall imho is balanced.

    This. Very much.

(and I might or might not be the baby Meg in this scenario. But more often than not I am not using Meg for this skillful playstyle)

  • I think both Blight and Twins require much skill and a different playstyle compared to others. Usually when I see one of them they either don’t know what to do with their power or they wreck the survs.

So like Nurse people don’t have the patience to get good with them and rather use their mains. Maybe Killer specific MMR will let people try out other killers they are not as comfortable with from the start.

  • I think the work on UI and Animation changes causes them to have to work longer than usual. That and the disaster that was last chapter. Maybe they have planned in more time for QA.

  • I agree that it’s not overpowered in general.

    but:

it’s way more useful than people that say they are only using it for the BP are giving it credit for.

on low level play it is super powerful. First games I used it I was surprised how easy survivor tracking was with it, because of distance and aura reading time. I know also that people on these forums don’t care at all for low level survivor experience..

the usefulness is correlated to high map mobility. Those killers don’t really need any more help, and low mobility killers don’t have an alternative for the extra 100% BP and have to use a perk with little impact on their actual game. Would be cool if aura reading time and distance could be related to the ability of the killer on how fast they can cross the map..

  • Just from what I gathered from these forums I am guessing Tyrant/Nemesis/Mr X as well.

it makes sense to take a killer that has possible legendary skins and as far as I have seen most people expect one of those three over Wesker.

The question was what annoys us personally. I answered truthfully. What's your problem?

I just wanted to know. No problem at all.

this is a public forum after all..

  • @DangerScouse said:

Survivors telling killers how they should play..... roughly translated to "wahhaaa you didn't let me win".

You could have just said ‚players telling other players how they should play‘, or. not?

in my experience killers are no exception for this..

  • I think he is one of the best contenders as a killer from TWD.

Cant really picture a power on my own though.

there are many people in this community that think killers (especially licensed ones) shouldn’t be just normal human beings without a mask. It’s one of the main counter arguments for Hannibal Lecter, Norman Bates or Jack from the Shining I have seen..

  • @DBD78 said:

It's not about population of countries, but who plays the game. How many % of the DBD players are from India? Do we have a Russian character? Because there seems to be a lot of russian players.

I'm from Sweden and Nea Karlsson, that surname is very swedish so I'm happy with that lol.

It’s not only the surname, you can read the lore of Nea: She is from Sweden but her parents moved with her to the USA.

Its Forced when the only reason for then being in the game is because of their race. I have no problem with adding them I just want characters that arent defined by they appearance/sex.

good thing BHVR never made a character with only one single trait as their definition. There is no reason to assume they are going to start now.

  • They have already done a really good job on making a diverse character cast.

but the next 3-4 chapters are already worked on and the characters are probably set as of now. And some of those are probably licensed.. Indian is also not the only ethnicity that is not present currently in the Entitys realm

You missed the point. It's not about if they do merchandise, it's about putting out surveys to pretend like we're offering feedback and it's really just them ticking the box to say they had player participation when it's clearly already a done deal, same way people in these comments are saying they didn't ask at all about some recent changes which means they have no interest in worrying about it.

Or maybe they also gathered feedback about those topics via the forum and other media and didn’t need to hear the exact same things again..

the Survey may be used to get community feedback on stuff they feel like they don’t get enough feedback about in other ways

  • @Traslogan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1905320#Comment_1905320

Yeah I bet all the merchandise questions are just them saying "we're doing merchandise no matter what, we just want to seem like we asked first"

    Uhm

    why wouldn’t they make merchandise?

just because you are not interested doesn’t mean others aren’t interested.

it’s not like the devs themselves would now be distracted because they are in any way involved in creating merchandise...

  • @CheyeneKL said:

?????????? What????? What have they been doing lately...?? Where are you coming up with the idea that they're just wasting time and money on licenses rather than improving the game?

They literally haven't been adding new maps lately because they have been reworking old maps visually and balance-wise. They have been reworking perks (which has been heavily asked for) and weaker killers.

MMR is also in the works for matchmaking issues and they regularly attempt to repair glitches and bugs.

If you wanna slander linked cosmetics, go right ahead. But as far as the cost of cosmetics go, BHVR's prices are pretty standard tbh. Fortnite cosmetics are similarly priced, for example.

What are you expecting from them that they're not doing???

    Accessibility options of course!

oh.. wait.. they already are working on that as well...

They could at least optimize the game for us console/lower end pc players :(

yeah. I got the switch version after they announced crossplay because i thought it could be fun.

with that performance I think they should never have released it on switch though..

  • The last 3 chapters were originals and not licensed though? And they already stated they aim to make at least half of their chapters originals.

it’s not like they are only focusing on licenses, and frankly, do you really know how much they are spending on licenses?

focusing on game health is also a double-edged sword: trying to make the game more accessible for new players would be in direct contradiction to making the game more balanced for high skilled players. And they are already working on both ends..

No, Undying DH won´t be viable at all. Haunted Grounds has at least the exposed status effect. But do you see many killer running around with HG DH? I haven´t seen any in ages. Same will happen to Undying.

And how many people are running Undying with Devour now?

Undying was always supposed to be a general Hex protection perk but the current implementation wasn’t working like that and it’s only real usage was with Ruin.

there will be killers using Undying with another Hex perk (with stacks). It won’t get to be Meta perhaps. But not every perk is supposed to be Meta. And Hexes were definitely never supposed to be as strong as Undying+Ruin was on certain killers.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1905573#Comment_1905573

Undying received a hard nerf. It´s now a weaker Haunted Grounds. Even Thrill is better for protecting Devour Hope.

So keeping your tokens for Devour Hope is a nerf? Let’s be real, Undying+Devour Hope wasn’t a thing at all but might be viable now.

they nerfed some aspects but also buffed other aspects of the perk. The current Undying was almost only usable with Ruin.

  • Actually they tried to make the current rank system matching around the highest rank of an SWF. It just doesn’t work as it’s supposed to.. it’s definitely not searching with the lowest rank in mind - at least not purposefully.

for MMR I guess it’s either the average, the maximum or something in between. They know they shouldn’t matched for the lowest skillrate of an SWF.

  • The community.

not saying BHVR or the devs do everything perfectly. But the community seems to always have something to complain about. Also the majority only playing for themselves and actually seeking out to make the other side have the worst experience possible.

  • Undying doesn’t even get nerfed but rather get reworked to get better synergy with all Hex perks.

the only thing getting deservedly nerfed is the Ruin+Undying combo.

mane ‚survivor babies‘ didn’t even cry THAT much about it, there were always more complaints about Noed for example. Which doesn’t get nerfed now, does it? Seems like the devs had more reason for this change.

Datamining actually factually confirms 2nd Feb was but is no longer the intended release date. Should be the 9th. I call that a delay.

That may be an internal delay.

but something like this is not to be discussed in the forums and it’s not really delay when the community wasn’t supposed to know about the date in the first place. Internal delays may happen all the time in software development.. that’s nothing extraordinary.

  • Why do you directly blame MMR?

matchmaking didn’t work for a long time correctly now. Currently it’s even worse because there is an imbalance between survivor and killer players, which leads to longer queue times and even messier matchmaking.

MMR was confirmed to be turned off and they will announce it when they turn it on (they talked about it in the latest dev blog)

    Patterns cause expectations

people hope things live up to expectations

people are let down when things take longer than the pattern said they would

Well, never said anything against that...

but after the last chapter it should also have been expected that they might take more time

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1904922#Comment_1904922

    But it, does?

The data says that for the last 4 (I didn't look farther back) they have been on a 6 week development cycle, patch, 3 weeks, ptb, 3 weeks patch, in that order

Im the middleman, shoot the middle man at the expense of your own weekends time

im just here to point out that they are off schedule to support the point of the person calling them out

But it does not? Even if there is a pattern they can schedule their release dates on their own will. Nothing was officially committed to.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1904793#Comment_1904793

Im not the ones calling them out im the ones supporting the ones calling them outs point with data

shoot the messenger at own risk of shooting the messenger

Not sure what you were trying to say there.

but your data of previous PTBs doesn’t prove there is a delay. Just before your examples they always had 2 weeks and changes that so there is precedent of them changing those release patterns. And again, nothing was ever officially confirmed. and we are certainly not talking about internal delays here.

  • i think this gets triggered only in the EGC if two specific gens were done: the one in the music room and the one in the chemistry classroom.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1904757#Comment_1904757

Looking back at the last 4 ptbs , ptb drops 3 weeks before the midchapter or chapter, then the midchapter or chapter follows 3 weeks after, so technically it could be considered delayed if it didn't follow this schedule even if its not set in stone set in wood isn't anything to scoff at

They always said that this is nothing official though and especially after the last chapter we should not call them out for taking themselves some time

  • It never was the officially the 2nd anyways so there was no delay.

  • It’s a known bug

you can search and upvote the report in this section so the devs are aware that many people are affected:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

  • Usually shortly after the update is correct, but I think it was also always open for new questions the week before, which would mean next week would be the stream.

they could of course change their usual schedule with releases and streams any time.

  • Second Wind will always be mediocre because of the restrictions.

There is Inner Strength, Selfcare (with Medkits and/or Empathy) or even Adrenaline that just work better

the fact you need to fully heal somebody else is definitely too much, it doesn’t work if the person started healing themselves, others helped with healing, you get interrupted by the killer with 99 healing done etc. And that only even applies if you actually have someone else to heal.

Another activation condition would help this perk immensely

  • Memorization is probably the best way... maybe run Visionary or Deja Vu or use a map and bring offerings for maps where you have problems finding the gens!

The Game: don’t know it that applies to the reworked version as well but you can look out for those closed gates (the grey ones that almost go an entire wall), gens are usually next to closed gates which open up after completion.

Lerys: Some rooms have flickering lights if a gen is in there.

Midwich: LOL run around like a headless chicken until you stumble over a gen. (Well that’s my plan there at least, but some gens I have memorized pretty well)

Hawkins: Memorization, but if you have a general sense for the layout: the corners and exit gates often have gens, there is always the one on top and the one at that portal thing.

The thing is though how big is the playerbase of this game in Russia? Is it enough to warrant dedicated servers specifically for that region? Genuine question, perhaps running these servers is cheaper than I'm thinking and they should be a separate region.

However I don't think it is uncommon in online games for Russia to be grouped into EU, most of the people who live in Russia actually live in the very far South West, so it's not actually far from EU at all, especially in terms of internet infrastructure.

But I recently I have seen quite a few names featuring russian (cyrilic) characters, or seen players post russian messages in the post game chat. However it's literally always survivors though (I mainly play Killer, and when I play Survivor I guess there's still 3 other players who are survivors so I'm more likely to observe variety in the survivors.

But if it's Russian people playing as survivors, I don't think this is a case of VPN exploits for an advantage, or at least it's not "VPN Killers" I've been observing.

BHVR already commented that Russian servers are not possible. I think that was in one of the Q&A streams.

also I think this is because they are using servers that are just not present in Russia.

i have to say I do get matched with many Russians but only several felt like they were abusing high ping (if VPN or they had bad connection i can’t say). And that was mainly before Server sided Hit validation. Many of them are playing fairly normal like everyone else. Obviously.

  • @Angelicus23 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901722#Comment_1901722

It literaly didnt even change anything in hits, gotta love russians in EU tho

for me it did though. Also central EU here and also going against many Russians

  • Server sided hit validation is on, so VPN killers or even killers with bad connection shouldn’t have such a great advantage anymore.

But there could of course be server issues that still cause unfair hits or just a hiccup on one side -either Surv or killer.

  • The Last Of Us is another possibility. Maybe only with a survivor as a Paragraph though..

  • @Pulsar said:

That's because it got noticeably worse right before the BloodRush.

I was getting a Yellow or White Rank every, maybe 7 games while I was at Rank 1. That's fine, I can say that's just a SWF.

I have been getting them WAY more frequently now, may every 3 games or so. I have a more difficult time explaining that.

I would assume currently the problem is there are too few killers/too many survivors playing which screws the matchmaking even more.

at least for me (central Europe) the lobby times for survivor is pretty high while killer has instant lobbies.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901377#Comment_1901377

I had played well over 100 matches during MMR's first life cycle and it did not get any better.

yeah? The devs acknowledged the problems though.. but now everyone thinks as soon as matchmaking doesn’t work that the bad bad MMR is at fault. Even though matchmaking haven’t worked for over a year..

  • Yeah. Watch me get facecamped by Nurses. A lot. Just because i try to be nice.
