Most games with Cross Play are opt in, so it shouldn’t be a problem.Dreamnomad said:@Orion said:

I hope they don't force crossplay on us.What does it matter, if it's just between consoles?
If it was just between consoles then I wouldn't mind too much I suppose. But I don't want PC vs console matches.
Unless Behavior chooses to make it a problem. -
Yeah, I doubt Epic Games will be overtaking Steam in any meaningful way for a while.Terratoast said:It would likely depend on how much the Epic Games launcher gains in user-base. Because right now, even with Fortnite, Steam likely just rolls over any and all other methods of advertisement. Out of all my launchers that I have for my various games (Epic Games, Origins, Blizzard, etc), Steam is likely my most visited launcher by at least 10x all of my other launchers combined.
However, I would also say it holds a lot more potential than other stores.
Given a few years to properly develop, I think the store will at least force Steam to improve their policies in some way. -
I can understand getting burnt out on a game, especially one like this.
Sometimes you just need a break for a few weeks or months, but even if that isn’t the case with you I’d like to help.
What type of games do you like? And what platform are you on?
I might have some recommendations. -
Either reverted, or make it so no one can see Auras in lockers.
Meaning that your Aura can’t be seen in lockers, but you also can’t see other Auras. -
This is the only part that matters: choice.nomorevideos said:@starkiller1286 said:
I doubt it Microsoft and Sony still aren't playing nice with each other and besides those on PC would have an advantage via that 360 dodgeAnd if you're really still not convinced that not every game is le ebin competitive and you can have crossplay, look at Fortnite. PC, console and phone users can all play together or just by themselves if they choose to.
Cross Play between Consoles presents little issue of fairness.
Cross Play between Console and PC does, regardless of how little you may think it matters.
So long as Cross Play between Console and PC is opt in, a choice, then it’s fine.
However if Cross Play is forced between Console and PC then it’s a problem. -
It’s all about execution.alivebydeadight said:f13 did that somewhat, and did you see how that went, and also your promoting gen rushing
It would only promote Gen Rush if the time was horribly short.
Moreover, it doesn’t have to be a literal timer either. Battle Royales such as Fortnite and PUBG have a “time limit” in the fact that the map is slowly becoming smaller, and will eventually kill every player: ending the game.
Someone suggested something similar before, that at a certain point in the match, the Entity would start consuming the map.

It should also be noted that Smite will be introducing Cross Progresssion as well.Oblitiry said:SMITE is working on cross play. Feels bad being a PS4 player and seing my console excluded.
Hopefully sony stops with this selfish BS completely. They're literally holding back their player base from the future of gaming.
People have been dreaming of this ######### for decades. -
They’ve allowed Cross Play on select games, and they are expanding this list bit by bit, however the video you linked didn’t make any announcement of Cross Play.pandorayr said:@Orion said:

Oh I don’t doubt Sony will. But so long as consumers want Cross Play, they’ll move to the platforms that offer it.
So if Sony chooses to be stubborn, they aren’t gonna get off scot-free this time.
Maybe not, but they are going to underestimate the effect this will have, go bankrupt (or almost), and put the blame on something else.
Sony Is Finally Allowing Cross-Play on The PS4

In the future, and especially in the next generation of consoles. I think they're going to keep being stubborn.

For the last 5 years, PlayStation has held a sizable lead on Xbox in terms of units sold.Orion said:@powerbats said:
Sony will always be the holdout on this since they don't want people to be able to play on other platforms. They have this backwards logic about it. Apparently, they believe that allowing people to play with their friends on other platforms will lower profits on their own. Of course, anyone with a grain of common sense knows that the exact opposite happens - if the other consoles offer more options, people will just move to those.
Outside of exclusives, often times a large driver in determining what console you’re going to get is what you’re friends have. So by preventing customers from playing with other platforms, it forces friends or family to purchase the same system to play with each other.
In the present however, Cross Play is growing to be a much more desired feature amongst consumers. As such Sony has been slowly caving into consumer demand and is allowing Cross Play across multiple titles.
Frankly, a large part of how Sony was able to deny Cross Play for so long is because of how dreadful the launches of the Xbox One and Wii U were. It garnered them a huge lead, and they’ve rode the momentum up till this point.
In the future, and especially in the next generation of consoles. So long as Microsoft and Nintendo don’t botch there launches again, it’s very unlikely Sony will be able to remain very opposed to Cross Play, without losing a substantial amount of customers.

It should be opt in, where you can change your settings and choose to play with PC.only1biggs said:If Xbox and PS4 could play together it would be great, but PC should definitely be kept separate.

Other games simply have opt in Cross Play.starkiller1286 said:I doubt it Microsoft and Sony still aren't playing nice with each other and besides those on PC would have an advantage via that 360 dodge
Where you can choose to have Cross Play enabled, as well as only have Cross Play between consoles. -
The test with Fortnite was a success, and since then other games have announced Cross Play so I’m hopeful.
It would definitely be after dedicated servers are established though. -
Assuming it would be delisted in the same way other games have been on Steam, then no you wouldn't have to buy it again.Mr_Myers said:If I had to buy the game again then [BAD WORD] no, even them Steam is widely used so if anything I think DBD would have less of a new player influx
You’d always own the game, as well as have the option to download it if you uninstall it at any point.
-
I’m not particularly opposed to a time limit.
Something in place to avoid 30+ minutes games would be nice.
Although I don’t know if I agree with those numbers specifically. -
So long as the player base in those areas warrant the servers, then there shouldn’t be a problem.
-
It’s been getting worse over the last month, hopefully it’s all ironed out in the optimization patch, whenever that is, tomorrow would be great.

Yes I’m quite sure and there’s no need for insults.Orion said:@ModernFable said:
Nothing. I play on Xbox, but this interested me so I wanted to talk about it.You sure? Because your OP reads exactly like an advertisement by a mouthpiece/puppet.
The store releases a few days ago and Steam hasn’t had an actual competitor in the last 15 years.
Not to say Epic Games will be an actual one, but I found them more promising than Origins or Uplay because they’re attracting developers with more than a subpar service: more money.
I play mostly on console, but I’ve always kept up with the PC scene in one way or another. And the idea of making Valve better their own service by introducing a better competitor, intrigues me to say the least. -

It’ll more than likely come to the store regardless.The_Crusader said:Lol. Steam is too popular to be ditched.
Possible they would also make the game availabe on Epic store though.
However even with Steam’s popularity, the potential profit margin for the Epic Games Store is very enticing. -
Would be nice to know if it’s coming out for all platforms at the same time too.

“Mend, Snap out of it, and Wake up, are no longer considered healing actions, and as such, will not be affected by perks that refer to healing.”I very much appreciate the newly added consistency this change brings.
That being said I didn’t feel Legion, Doctor, or Freddy needed a nerf. However hopefully now they’ll be better able to adjust their kits as needed, and not be held back by weird interactions.
(excluding Freddy due to his “Soon TM Rework”)
This will allow us to tweak the base power of a killer much better, without fear of breaking his build when a players use a certain perk. The feeling of necessity to have specific perks on a character to make him viable is not something that we think is good for the overall balance, which is the reason why we are doing those changes.
Thank you!
-
I would very much like the option to turn crouch to toggle.
-
It is just as useful for Nurse, however she has the benefit of being a wildly better Killer.
Thanatophobia doesn’t get buffed because it can’t be.
The perk is very poorly designed in the fact that it’s numbers are so low it’s a non factor in most games.
While at the same time they can’t be raised enough without being oppressing. -
Yes I’m aware, Killers aren’t very scary at all, but that’s not the main point of this post.Rebel_Raven said:The killers aren't really scary, though.
Some might get in some jump scares, but no one is scared of them, rather what they can do.
I.e. some people might dread when the nurse, or doctor is the killer.
Even if they were scary, and they probably were at one time, once you go through a haunted house enough, it will eventually stop being scary.
Survivors are already in a power role. Especially in SWF.
Especially with the new perks, and buffs so far in PTB.
Whether the Killer or Survivors currently hold the power role isn’t important.
The point is, because neither role is indisputably in control, it creates problems for balance depending on the player’s skill level.
SWF groups are dominant, yes. However they’re not dominant enough to allow certain balance changes.
The same is true for a normal Killer versus solo survivors. -
STBFL is alright when you’re able to chain attacks on multiple survivors.steezo_de said:As long as you don't hit a wounded survivor tho, you should be able to keep that frenzy speed for as long as the power lasts. How long is it?
Maybe we just need to mess around with the right combo. STBFL may be good with him.
However, because of the short duration and Legion’s 110% movement speed, it makes it difficult to get different survivor hits.
It resets when attacking survivor without the Deep Wound status, yes. But that’s not always possible because of what I previously stated.
And in the situations where you can only hit a lone survivor, the power can’t down them in one use and STBFL is a lot less useful because of Legion’s fatigue on top of the attack cooldown. -
It definitely is, but the power doesn’t last long enough if the survivors aren’t right next to each other.steezo_de said:It feels like they made the power for mass attacks and since you have to mend before you heal, it's discouraging tunneling the survivor with that power. You can still hit them normally and they go down as usual.
Additionally, Legion only has 110% movement speed and a relatively long cooldown.
This makes moving around the map and attacking multiple survivors difficult, despite his power leaning towards that playstyle and punishing you otherwise.
Legion is really fun, but some parts of his kit are really counterintuitive. -
It’s still gonna really strong and the anti-hook build I brought up before is still gonna be very annoying.SnakeSound222 said:
For me it isn’t, because of how sweaty Survivors can be. I don’t want to have to run a perk just because Survivors get sweaty and I want to have a fun game. Hook rushing isn’t a sacrificial situation anymore, especially if that is the only hook nearby or the Survivors are running No Mither or are sabotaging hooks. Some suggestions I had for nerfing the perk are:ModernFable said:
That’s a relief.Orion said:@Carpemortum said:
Wondering why someone hasnt gone into a kyf and idk, waited 3 mins to see?I did, and it's 3 minutes.
The hook could only break when the Killer is within X meters and there are Survivors nearby (like the Chaser penalty)
Have the Entity block the hook instead of break it if the Killer tries to put the recently unhooked Survivor back on that same hook before a timer runs out or they get healed.
The hook respawn timer could get reduced (would only work on the hooks broken by Breakdown.
The breaking hooks part from the perk could just be removed and it could be reworked.
Any of these nerfs would not require Killers to run Hangman’s against sweaty hook rushing Survivors. I get the point of the perk (discourages tunneling), but can’t it be done in a way that doesn’t [BAD WORD] over the Killer?
I’m just relieved Behavior remembered that letting people permanently destroy hooks via items and perks is really unfair. -
There’s a lot of weird stuff with Legion’s kit.
He has to go through the attack cooldown animation and the fatigue animation. Unlike Nurse who just goes through fatigue.
Legion’s power removes scratch marks and takes a lot of hits to down a survivor.
Survivors still receive the movement speed boost from being hit because of how the Deep Wound effect works, which often hurts you more than it helps.
The power has a short duration and weird interactions involving his cooldown.
There's also a lot of perks that don’t cooperate with his power well, like Make Your Choice and Devour Hope.
You might say you can avoid this by not using his power, but at that point you’re just playing a slow 110% movement speed killer without no power. -
It’s really bad and wastes a lot of time.
Nurse’s fatigue and attack cooldown happen at the same time, so I’m not sure why Legion’s power is like this.
I’m hoping it’s just a bug. -
That’s a relief.Orion said:@Carpemortum said:

While we’re on the topic of how the game looks:
How different is Freddy’s Dream World?
Because before it was a visual obstacle to Freddy himself, is it better now? -
It does seem like some of these could have just been Perk Reworks.
Discordance could have been Surveillance.
Distortion could have been Sole Survivor. Etc.. -
The only way to respawn Hooks lost to a sacrifice is Hangman’s Trick.fcc2014 said:My bad was that changed? I was pretty sure they respawned.

Hook/Traps respawn after 3 minutes when Sabotaged.fcc2014 said:My bad was that changed? I was pretty sure they respawned.
The Hook respawn time can be modified by Saboteur and Hangman’s Trick.
Hooks don’t respawn after being destroyed by a Sacrifice. As far as I know it’s always been like this.
The only thing that was changed, was a long time ago Hooks didn’t respawn after being Sabotaged. -
Yeah, hence why I’m concerned that there’s no timer on the Perk.ChesterTheMolester said:

When someone is sacrificed, the hook stays destroyed, unless they have Hangman’s Trick.

If a person is sacrificed on hook, the hook breaks permanently.fcc2014 said:@ModernFable said:

I would assume the standard time of a sacrifice.

Unless I’m misunderstanding something here, it seems really broken. -
I’d very much appreciate it contributing to Lightbringer.

With the exception of maybe some Iridescents and Very Rares, I’d say Perks.
Another Trap or Tonic is nice, but neither of those is gonna slow down the game like Ruin or Sloppy Butcher.
Nor will reappearing as Wraith faster or having a longer Shock Therapy is great too, but they’re not gonna give me the vision that A Nurse’s Calling or Barbeque and Chili would.
While a lot of killers are add-on dependent, even more are perk reliant, or at least can more often receive a greater boost from them. -
At the moment he’s pretty frustrating to play and play against. If he was just buffed, it would worsen that on the opposing end.
However, he’s receiving more of a Rework than just straight buffs. Assuming he ever actually gets the changes, Soon TM. -
It should be, since a fast vault anywhere out of chase is generally a bad idea.
-
Fun Fact: the Switch version is slated to have 60 FPS
So a MOBA with dozens of AI, 10 players, and has numerous abilities firing all around the map simultaneously: can run at 60 FPS on the Switch.
Then surely, 60 FPS for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is a reasonable feat. With the X and Pro being capable of much more.
-
It’s mostly preference and depends on how you play. I’d just try them both out for a few games and see how you like them.
-
I prefer A Nurse’s Calling since I find Whispers to be distracting, and provides a bit too much vague information.
