  • are you referring to the Deathslingers base TR being 24m (16 with M&A and up to only 4m with certain Add Ons) aswell as the TR starting out with some easily missed music, or are you trying to report a new bug where, even with a basekit Deathslinger you have literally no TR?

cause if its the later, you might want to report it to the bug report section. this seems like it should get fixed very soon or otherwise might be pretty bad.

  • as far as im aware, there are currently no penalities for DCing, as the system is temporarily deactivated due to a bug.

that would explain the huge increase of DCs lately...

Yeah, I think the reasoning behind doing this is forcing players into spending more $$ to buy the entire outfit instead of individual pieces they want. Scummy marketing strategy and a slap in the face to players (like me) who actually have supported the company by purchasing individual cosmetics prior to this change.

i think the official reason is that it "prevents clipping issues".

honestly, i would prefer clippinng issues over this any time.

trading your ability to mix up cosmetic items for having less clipping issues is almost as stupid as trading your ability to insta down survivors with the chainsaw for being able to run through pallets without stopping.

its a good idea / intention, but its simply not worth the price we have to pay to get it.

His hitbox is perfectly fine. It allows you to reach survivors on some places and certain loops more precisely.

I feel Scott acts like that in this specific video is because he is too spoiled from too much huntress.

its not perfect, but its mostly fine.

the main problem id have with it is, that sometimes you will shoot cleanly through a survivors playmodel without actually hitting the hitbox on them (e.g. shooting the head during a fastvault).

other than that, given you have a good connection to the server you're playing on, there is no problem with it. its actually really cool when you consider all the little holes you can shoot through and still hit survivors if you are good enough.

  • agreed.

the only outfits that i can understand being linked would be Cheryls "Lisa" outfit and the Legions bunny outfits.

every other one is unnecessary and imo only restricts my ability to mix up outfits with one another.

okay, they might have an excuse for licensed content. maybe the license holder wouldnt allow it otherwise, who knows?

however that new Nea outfit... no.

i am not going to purchase any upcomming linked skins, unless they actually change the character we play (= legendary skins) or have a huge discount on them.

The most you'll see is what, thousands of opinions in a game that is played by millions? That's an indication for you now? Wanna talk about skewed statistics?

I got an example for you, if I go to newschannels on youtube, I'll see mostly vile vitriol being spewed by anti-vaxxers with only a minority being people with actual intelligence, the videos are downvoted to ######### most of the time with being 50/50 tops. Does that mean rightwing nutjobs are a majority in germany now?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkCQGU6IYQg

I guess masks are dangerous now, look at the comments debunking that video.

yeah, i have a couple of thousand people agreeing with me on this topic.

thats a lot better than the millions of imaginary people you have though.

and your "examples" have quite literally nothing to do any of this. this is not a facebook group of anti-vax moms, this is not a Covid 19 conspiracy theory diskussion, this is about Dead by Daylight and the newest changes on the Hillbilly.

you're way off topic right now, so i guess the best thing is to call it a day here before you throw the next strawman at me.

    have a good day

I was talking about the time it takes to get into the match, and they are from my own experience. I go to work and I go to classes, so I have to play either late at night, which Q times are pretty good for me then, or early in the morning, when Q times are awful for me. That is to say, I am not gonna wait 10-15 minutes to get into a match so I can be facecamped and, honestly?

It is not my responsibility to be Jesus on the cross for every other survivor NOR is it my responsibility to punish killers for anything they may do. That's on the Devs.

Clearly community policing and social shaming isn't doing anything to stop them, and nobody who camps actually cares about ranking up or anything to do with the game. They just care about ruining the game for 1 player at the least.

Actually, it's a lot more reasonable for ALL the survivors to either DC or die on the hook immediately and simply not talk to them at all. Short games for everyone involved and the killer doesn't get to have the satisfaction of people even trying against them--which is what they like. They like irritating people, or they wouldn't be camping. Rank has nothing to do with it, kills have nothing to do with it, they are trolls. Gunrushing, only letting them get one kill doesn't matter because at then end they still got their objective--to troll at least one survivor.

And again, reporting survivors because they didn't buy YOU time and would rather just gg go next rather than miserably stare a camper in the face is not only an abuse of the report system, they didn't do anything against the rules for you to report them, but it's also selfish. "Boo hoo I didn't get my extra 60 seconds to do this gen and now I'M the one getting camped. The campers have WON. U get reporded. Wah, I'm struggling on this hook, they should have too then I might not be here. :'<"

If you want to abuse the report system so bad and report people for not doing as you wish, you might as well report the killers for camping in the first place instead of blaming people for simply choosing to not put up with bullshit.

ill try to keep it short:

    1) yes, its not your responibility to "play jesus on the cross". then again, as i previously stated, all you do by immediately quitting is encouraging them to keep doing it, aswell as keeping them in the ranks where you are going to meet them again. dont complain about campers / ask for "camping penalities" (which, little fun fact: are there, yet they wont be applied when you just insta quit) in that case though. YOU are the reason they are doing it after all, if you want them to change, you gotta change your own behavior first.

    2) if quitting the game early wasnt a problem, the DC penality system in itself wouldnt be needed. and no, hook suicides dont only occur on camping games, they occur whenever survivor X has found reason Y as to why they dont want to play this trial anymore. that may be killer, map, teammates, performance, etc (the same reasons people tended to use to DC, which apparently is bannable). and even if we were to apply them to a camping game, you are right! i am complaining about them not waiting out these 120 seconds, as now i am the one hooked eventually. you actively denied me the ability to participate in a normal game, aswell as everyone else on your team. thats the reason people get banned for DCs, i dont at all see why it shouldnt be the reason for early game hook suicides aswell.

    3) i am not "abusing the reporting system" at all. by quitting a game early you ruin it for everyone else after all, its actually comparable to trolling or sandbagging me, which both are listed as reportable offenses (cause, you know, they ruin others experiences). camping itself is not reportable for two reasons: 1) due to it being a legitimate strategy that WOULD have counterplay to it, would you just wait out these 120 seconds on the hook and 2) due to the lack of a definition to the term "camping". when is a killer actually camping? when are they defending the hook? when are they just trespassing, when are they doing normal killer interactins with the environment around the hook, when are they setting up traps, etc.

    4) the time it takes you to find a match has nothing to do with the time you waste to a camper - the two minutes shouldnt matter at all when you wait for 10 to 15 minutes anyway. actually, this ties in very nicely with my previous argument, stating that by encouraging these players and allowing them to keep their rank, you waste a LOT more time in the long run, as you basically ensure you will meet them again and again.

okay, looking back at the wall of text i have provided you with keeping it short didnt really work out that well, so ill try to sum it up:

you are basically defending early game DCs here.

those have always ruined the game for everyone else and there is a very good reason why the Devs have started banning people for it.

stop being so selfish any start thinking about the others you play this game with.

  • Ormond is a really bad map for killers in general.

especially as a Deathslinger, whose main weakness is map coverage, Ormond is basically a gg as soon as you get it.

you entirely rely on a huge screw up on the Survivors side to win - if they dont offer you that, you lost.

Ormond, on top of being as large as it is, offers a lot of pretty solide looping tiles, therefore Survivors have a lot of options to waste your time, compared to the very few options you have to properly slow them down.

All you can really do is to run around and look for anyone who might be outpositioned, offering you the screw up you needed.

once you commit to a chase around said good looping areas, you lost the game.

LoL, unless you back that up with some data I'll just laugh at your futile claims of being part of some huge community. Billy is gonna get nerfed, very well deserved and many ppl that I talk to agree he needed it.

okay, so would the community outcry regarding said nerfs ever since they got announced count as enough evidence for you?

maybe you could make a poll in the polls section, asking whether this is a good change or not aswell?

the vast majority of players i see are against this change after all - this includes content creators, this forum or just general people i talk to. thats my "data", now please provide me with yours.

Nobody wants to wait the sometimes 10-15 min to be facecamped, though, and it's more unreasonable to expect survivors to sit around and do nothing or get a penalty for not just tap-tap-taping their keyboard than it is to want for the killers to get a harsher penalty for camping. One person in this situation can play the game and the other can't.

You can't fault someone who wants to do the same objectives that YOU want to do in a game for not wanting to stay in a lobby where they not only are not going to be able to do any of those things, but will also de-pip for it, lose their items and add-ons, etc. Nobody is forcing the killer to camp, but the killer is forcing the survivor to be camped. Reporting them for that just seems like you're punishing the wrong person and also abusing the report system.

excuse me please, but where exactly do you take these numbers from?

as far as i am concerned, a single hookstage takes 60 seconds to go through, two of which you will have to endure, totalling to a maximum of 120 seconds (2 minutes) of being facecamped.

asking someone to wait out these 120 seconds shouldnt be asked too much - and by doing so you A: buy your team an actual chance against the killer, aswell as B: punishing the killer for their bahavior.

if you dont do that, the killer gets what they want - they get to kill majority of the players in the trial AND to rank up, so you literally give them no incentive to ever play any different.

if you dont want to wait out these 120 seconds, you passively encourage killers to continue this behavior, therefore you basically ensure you will meet more killers that camp, so less games you can play normally.

Legion was absolutely perfectly balanced, each down of legion would take at least 30 seconds unless the survivors tried to do stupid mindgames, for the majority of the playerbase there was no difference between facing a legion or anything else (because a majority of the playerbase is absolutely casual).

You are talking about some vocal minority that no dev should care about.

ooooh boi there are a LOT of things wrong with your statements buddy...

    everyone hated old legion.

thats one of the very few things both, the killer AND the survivor community agreed on: old legion had to go.

so if one of us is in a "vocal minority", its definitely you.

  • i dont think BHVR is gonna do much about it, you should report it to the Steam Support instead, as thats the plattform they cheated on.

if you suspect them using ingame cheats to get the achievements however, you can report it to BHVR, as they are now directly affected. dont report them hacking the achievements though, report them for the cheats.

  • billy was perfectly balanced the way he was.

devs gutted him --> community dissatisfied

legion was the most broken and unfun killer to both play and verse in the entire game.

devs FIXED them --> community happy (happy is a strong word, most arent happy with how legion is currently performing, but lets be honest: 99% of the people prefer current legion over the old one)

the reason no one complains about the legion changes is, because they were needed for the overall health of this game.

the reason why everyone complains about billys change is, because this was not at all needed and just ended up gutting who was widely known as the "most balanced killer in the game".

Add On rework? yes please (they really were over the top)

    Basepower rework? HELL NO!

You have to understand the guy that gets hooked early and facecamped, is literally getting Nothing for wasting 3 minutes of his own time that could be used already being finishing first gen or hitting one up by then in another match. Of course they're gonna suicide in that case. The other day somebody ran a bubba straight into me not even half a minute into a match and he literally sat right in my face, and I tapped out since I was gonna get literally nothing but the measely few hundred or so for the gen I was on while also having to deal with my extremely low attention-span on top of how much that idgit ticked me off. Naturally, well before that three minutes of face would have taken to end, I was already on a gen in another match. Maybe that dude shouldn't have leashed his agro off onto me and gotten me facecamped if he wanted 3 teammates, or at least give people enough incentive to sit through that for a bunch of total complete strangers over starting a fresh match. Nobody wants to work for free.

and by doing exactly that, you literally gift them the 4k.

if you wanna do that, go for it. but then dont come here and complain about campers (not saying you would, but there are a LOT of anti camping threats out there).

and dont expect your team (you know, the guys you abandoned and doomed with your decision) to be kind and understanding. you would probaply be the one they come here on the forum to complain about then.

for me, players that do exactly that are the reason why playing solo survivor is a pain in the ace.

i have lost so many games, because someone couldnt afford to just sit on the hook for TWO MINUTES, i have come to the point where i literally report players for immediately suiciding on a hook, cause its that unfun to have and it gives you such an unfair disadvantage from the getgo - it has ruined too many of my games at this point.

there is a reason why DC penalities were introduced - and honestly, i feel like hook suicide penalities should become a thing aswell.

  • stop.

    feeding.

    campers.

aswell as stop suiciding against them - ffs you are literally dooming your entire team! ;-; (sry thats the one thing i see so often that turns an easy 2 or even 3 man escape into a 4k. please people, LEARN.)

I guess the huntress or hag are next on the chopping block, since survivors hate them most now.

As for Oni, we've got to wait a year before no other high tier killers are left and survivors would switch to him.

i could maybe see some hag changes (make her more fun and appealing to play / verse), but huntress certainly doesnt need any power rework at all.

though both have problematic add ons, so yeah excpect to see this happen again sooner or later...

    sigh...

  • you cant use pallets the way you normally would on Hawkins.

if you try to play around a single pallet, thats not gonna work. however, if you play around multiple pallets at the same time, you can create an unwinnable loop for the killer that forces them to break down the pallets in order to proceed with the chase. and thanks to the insane pallet numbers on that map, you can expect one to be there for you every 5m.

it requires to use the pallets differently from other maps, but they arent useless.

for Midwich, yeah idk. havent had enough playtime on the map to have a good opinion on it tbh (i heavily dislike it as the killer though, so you are not alone in your Midwich hate, if that helps you xD)

  • your wish has been granted!

... a couple of years ago?

NOED is a Hex perk since the 1.5.0 update.

  • honestly, in his current state i dont see any reason to run Billy over Oni.

guess Oni is gonna be our new "perfectly balanced killer"?

  • billy needed an add on rework, that we can all agree on.

however, what they did to him was too much.

i dont think the overheat should have eber been a thing in the first place, and if then only for those who literally facecamp with a 99% chainsaw.

  • its not considered "taking the game hostage" when there is a set end to it.

you got slugged, which in itself has a limited time to in in form of the bleedout bar.

additionally to this, due to the EGC being active there was a set ending to this trial anyway, therefore not killing you until the timer ran out can not be considered taking the game hostage.

a game that is being held hostage is a game that can not progress any further for one / more players with the cause being another player denying them the ability to normally participate.

e.g.: killer bodyblocking you in a corner for extended periodes of time (not counting EGC, due to the 2 minute death timer) / survivors hiding, not progressing the objective at all for extended periodes of time (all of the remaining survivors).

the killer was not holding the game hostage, however they were acting pretty toxic towards you.

i can understand why you migh feel frustrated, but its nothing that would be reportable, as long as it occured during the EGC / was time restricted in any other way.

  • yes, the overheating mechanic is going to be a thing.

that doesnt mean it was "set in stone" or "never to be looked at again". the different values can very much change and in the end might get nerfed to a level where the chainsaws overheat is something you rarely ever encounter, unless you literally hold your chainsaw up for extended periodes of time (like 30 seconds or so)

personally i dont think id have much of a problem with the overheating mechanic if it took much longer to take effect, so it only really punished billies who tried to facecamp someone with their chainsaw at 99%.

  • yeah the overheat mechanic is going to go through.

not only did they spend a lot of time on it itself, they also build the entire add on rework around it, therefore there is no way this is not going to stay.

i really just hope they will get the feedback and heavily nerf the numbers on it.

like, a third of the meter just for charging the chainsaw? thats way, waaay too much.

depends on how you look at it. I look at it as if im not satisfied with a product or the product changes past what I deem is acceptable for the money that I spent than I am entitled to get my money back. I see you’re not a lawyer. Holding the game hostage is blocking multiple survivors in a corner and taking a poop. But evading the killer while NOT being afk is perfectly fine gameplay. Is it scummy? Maybe but they have the right to do that if that’s what gives them fun.

you are right, i am not a lawyer.

but i dont need to be one in order to know when someone breaks the games rules and therefore is performing a bannable offense.

survivors holding a game hostage is just as much possible as a killer holding it hostage.

is the killer allowed to bodyblock someone in a corner for extended periodes of time, denying them the ability to play a normal game? you are right, they are not.

are the survivors allowed to hide and not do anything for extended periodes of time, denying the killer the ability to play a normal game? of course not!

im not sayig stealth was not a perfectly fine option for survivors to use to win the game, if you think stealthing around the killer is fun and it works for you, all power to you! however, this is only a valid strategy as long as you at least try to push your objective.

you can do whatever you want, as long as at least one of the two main objectives (killing the survivors / escaping the trial) is being progressed. stealth is okay, if you are working on gens when the killer is not around. bodyblocking someone in a corner is okay, as long as the action has a set end to it, such as a charged chainsaw in their backs or the EGC killing them. however, both are forbidden when there is no clear end to them.

next time, please read what the OP actually says (in short, they got their game held hostage by survivors hiding for roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes, not doing ANY gens) before commenting something like that.

    kind regards,

not a lawyer, but someone who knows about this games rule set.

  • record and report.

they were holding the game hostage and thats a bannable offense.

if you have the game recorded (or parts of it that clearly show they were not doing anything for longer periodes of time) and reported them ingame, go and submit a ticket with your recording of the trial over at the support ( https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us ) and they will be banned.

  • probaply the Winter Event theme.

for killers, id say its tied between Doctor and Oni

  • it is not toxic at all.

however, survivors tend to dislike the perk, cause it denies them their win when they were super close to actually getting it.

due to that frustration the clear and easy counterplay this perk has is often overlooked and anyone using it is called a "no skilled noob" / the perk itself is referred to as "a crutch perk for baby killers".

you shouldnt feel bad for running the perk.

and you should get used to salt in the end chat. that is, sadly, a very common thing in this community. id recommend you not taking anything serious others write and report anything that is heavily insulting towards you or others, you might have a bad time otherwise.

just as a general tip for a new player such as you.

  • Claudette

    you are welcome.

  • the one that forbids me to defend my hook against the 3 idiots running straight at me right after hooking.

like, i wont camp the dude on the hook, but that doesnt mean i wouldnt come back when i see someone else. im not giving you that safe unhook for free, you eigther earn it or you are gonna have a hook trade.

  • try reporting them to steam?

there is an option for that after all, so maybe when the DbD devs wont do it, the Steam support will take action?

last time i checked you cant play DbD without having a steam profile, so it might be worth giving a shot.

I usually side main slinger and can confirm, god no one uses the coin. 15m is plenty of space for a survivor to easily wiggle out of your chain.

not only that, but you have literally no control over your distance towards them.

its just plain luck whether they are actually 15m away, then you need to hit, then you need to reel them in and you gotta hope they were healthy to begin with, otherwise the iri coin is once again pointless.

i really wish they would just delete the Add On and give him a silencer for the gun instead...

(just imagine working with someone on a gen and out of nowhere a harpoon comes flying at them, grabbing them and pulling them away. that would be both scary and hilarious at the same time! xD)

But if you made it so DC was punished and crashing wasn’t you know what would happen.

and if we dont make it, the old complaints that have filled this forum for months now where people ended up getting banned for long periodes of time just because their game kept crashing will once again reappear.

and if there was a huge increase of "game crashes", they can reactivate it at any time.

  • as a survivor i see it as a win as soon as i escape, no matter how many others made it out.

the only really noticable thing to me is when all 4 make it out tbh.

as a killer, i feel like a 2k is a draw. had i played the trial better i could have gotten more, therefore i didnt achieve the win, but i also didnt lose, as they didnt get the majority of players out.

    a win for me as a killer would be a 3k or a 4k.

  • then make it so when you crash you get a timeout, but it doesnt increase.

im pretty sure 95% of the ppl who have a game crash didnt force it, therefore its a little unfair to give them increasing DC penalities for something they had no control over

  • others can still mend you, so instead of doing it yourself you might want to look for other players who can do it for you.

also, i think the time required to snap out of it is less than the time required for your mending bar to hit 0, so unless the Doc is using the one add on that makes snapping out of it longer, you should be able to do both on your own.

  • you shouldnt get any "mercy" DCs.

instead they should update it so it can actually detect when a game crashed and not penalize you for it, aswell as fixing potential bugs where players got a timeout longer than what they should have gotten.

  • deathslinger is not in the need of any buffs.

the dude is a freaking monster when you can play him well - he also isnt significantly weaker than Huntress. like, there are scenarios when i play Huntress where i wish i was a Deathslinger, as he can shut down sooo many loops Huntress has to take.

he isnt stronger than her, due to him having some restrictions she doesnt have (range / reeling in), but he can be used so much more while in loops (he is one of the least loopable killers in the game imo) - making him 115% mms would be way too strong imo.

    EDIT: fixed some poor wording.

  • Doc has always been African - American.

    Same with Wraith btw.

  • the franklyns change is NOT a fix or nerf for keys.

keys were literally not changed at all.

you can expect a mori nerf when keys ACTUALLY got nerfed.

  • so you want to make it literally useless?

i dont see any Deathslinger who runs the Iridescent Coin. its extremely bad and honestly should be reworked into something entirely else - and it especially should NOT be taken as a balancing standart for new Add Ons.

    so in short: no.

please stop asking for an Iri Head nerf, the Add On itself is fine the way it is - actually, its pretty bad. like, you trade the ability to down two and injure a third just to be able to down one instantly. thats a direct downgrade from stock, damage wise.

the only thing that is too strong here is the Iridescent Head when combined with the Infantry Belt. this COMBINATION of Add Ons needs to be nerfed, not just the one that allows for the insta down.

so why not make it so that Iri head actually sets the amount of hatchets to two and caps it at that?

that way its not as bad as it currently is, but you could also not combine it with the Infantry Belt to make it overpowered.

  • my current Deathslinger build is:

    • A Nurses Calling
    • Monitor & Abuse
    • Pop Goes The Weasel
    • Discordance

in general Monitor & Abuse is a must have perk on him, due to the TR reduction. once you have that, i recommend tracking and game slow down perks. For tracking, A Nurses Calling is godlike, due to its ability to reveal them to you AND you being in shooting range before they even hear your TR. it makes healing a difficult thing against you which you can profit on.

Discordance is a great perk in both cathegories: not only does it give away the location of multiple, stationary (easy to shoot) survivors, it also tells you exactly where to apply pressure to slow the game down as much as possible. it also works together pretty well with PGTW, due to you knowing exactly where you need to apply it on order to ruin the most progress on a gen.

other perks that are pretty solid on him:

    • Save The Best For Last, as it allows you to quickly wipe off your weapon and go for the shot before the Survivor has any chance of getting to safety (requires you to ignore one Survivor though)
    • Sloppy Butcher, as you are always going to apply it uppon injuring someone, even when using your power. unlike a Hillbilly for example, who can not get it on a chainsaw attack (might encourage them to not heal at all and rather genrush though)
    • Thanatophobia, so you give them a little incentive to actually go and heal themselves, which works together very well with A Nurses Calling and Monitor & Abuse
    • Corrupt Intervention, to reduce the early game gen pressure Survivors have on you (its useless after some time though)
  • probaply the same as with the Docs Iridescent Queen.

they originally changed the Scrapped Mixtape and reworked that into the Iridescent Queen, therefore you had as many Iri Queens as you previously had Scrapped Mixtapes.

so my guess is that they wont create new Add Ons and delete the old ones, but rather rework the old Add Ons into something new, allowing you to keep them.

its only when they have to create new ones out of nothing (e.g. the Trappers Trapper Sack / Padded Jaws) that you wont have any and need to collect them first.

  • i dont think the hidden aura was a good change.

the other one was reasonable, but the hidden aura was a little overkill imo.

and actually, caging was and still is quite good, as it allows you to completely ignore DS and just rehook them immediately.

get them tormented and you can tunnel them down without any penality to it, cage them and they are on deathhook already, without reactivating their DS uppon being rescued.

it also saves time, when you down someone next to someone else, just cage them and continue the chase.

the cage was not ment to replace the hook, but its a mechanic you are supposed to play around with, denying certain tactics (DS, flashlights, bodyblocking, sabo ,,,) while simultaneously saving you time.

  • maybe its a secondary account and their first one has like 15.000 hours?

  • my current Deathslinger build is:

    • Monitor & Abuse
    • A Nurses Calling
    • Discordance
    • Pop Goes The Weasel

the main idea is that you get information on them, while hiding your own presence and shooting them from far away without them noticing.

  • its called Hex: No One Escapes Death and its a base perk unlocked for every killer.

you want an extra boost, run that.

  • to be fair here:

Doctor was DESIGNED to be Add On dependent.

but yeah there are quite a lot of cases with a huge Add On dependance that shouldnt be overlooked - and they should be next on the change list (Trapper, Bubba, Wraith, ...)
