You made me laugh when you said that totems are "hidden" dude, that thing is always next to gens, and there are maps that anywhere is a ######### spot
depends on the map.
on new maps they are usually hidden pretty well, its just old maps that dont have great totem placements - and even there i have seen some really good totem spots.
-
why did you have to ban Iron Will Dx
now i actually gotta come up with something...
okay, the first 3 perks are easy, as they are already part of my usual survivor build:
- Plunderers Instinct
- Ace In The Hole
- Kindred
now, since i have to replace Iron Will, which heavily restricts my stealth abilities, i will have to go with something different that allows me to get some other use. i was thinking about Botany Knowledge, as, if i get a medkit from a chest, i can get myself healed up in no time, making up for the loss of not making noise while injured.
However, other perks might benefit me aswell, especially those that reveal my fellow team to me i can go to when i need heals. Therefore i think Aftercare, Bond or Empathy would be good picks for that slot aswell.
now for killer, this one is definitely a lot more difficult, as you just banned away almost everything that slows down the game.
idk, Discordance is the only perk i can think of running 24/7 now... but without PGTW, Monitor and Nurses im gonna have a hard time tbh. at least PGTW and Monitor i run religiously on almost all my killers - Moitor could be replaced with Shadowborn though, that could work out. i still dont think i would really stand a chance against most without having any tool of slowing the game down (as you basically removed 95% of all the slow down tools i have), so maybe Thrilling Tremors, Surge or Dying Light would come in handy? however, im not a big fan of Dying Light, due to its heavy restrictions and buff it gives the obsession, aswell as its lack of earlygame pressure.
yeah im gonna stick with that for now: Discordance, Shadowborn, Thrilling Tremors and Surge. i would probaply not be able to play most of the killers i enjoy playing though, as the lack of perks to cover their weaknesses would make them even more unviable choices.
-
mine would be:
A)
- Plunderers Instinct
- Ace In The Hole
- Kindred
- Iron Will
B)
- Decisive Strike
- Dead Hard / We'll Make It (comes down to preference)
- Kindred
- Iron Will
(kinda the tryhard build)
the perk i run religiously is Kindred.
not only does it give me accurate information on everything my team is currently going, allows me to coordinate hooksaves with them / let them coordinate them when i am hooked (so not everyone runs at the hook at the same time, wasting time on gens), it also works like a reversed BBQ & Chili! i can see the killer after hooking someone, i know when they want to camp and i see where they are going after the hook. that means i know when they walk towards me and can react to that before they are even in range.
if you ever want to run a Solo perk build, run Kinred. after a short while you wont want to ever unequip it again.
-
Small Game, Detectives Hunch, Maps, Game sense / Map knowledge.
totems are supposed to be a waste of time, thats the whole point of them being HIDDEN around the map.
i would support a totem counter on Small Game, but thats it. that information should not be given to everyone for free, especially because of NOED (the perk is already medicore and we really dont need a shadownerf on it).
-
yep, sums up my main problems with Borrowed Time very well.
"i had BT so unhooking in the killers face is not a "hook farm" or unsafe, its the killers fault when they get attacked again1!"
-
Trapper / Deathslinger
while i love Trapper and everything he has, i think Deathslinger is a lot more consistent ingame and more fun, so i play him a LOT lately.
for survivors, its gonna have to be Claudette.
i do plan on changing that in the future, though im currently busy maxing out my killers, so its gonna take me a while to get to the survivor side of things.
-
ive seen a strange increase of OoO survivors lately.
so due the increasing amount of wanna be toxics i've seen lately my answer is gonna be survivors.
-
if anything its too strong.
while i get and support the anti tunneling part of it, it very rarely really gets used for this. instead it just encourages the BT survivor to go for unsafe hook rescues in the killers face without any penality (especially when the unhooked survivor bodyblocks for them), which is my main critique on this perk.
imo the best change right now would be to not give the unhooker a "safe unhook" score event, when the unhooked survivor has been hit.
currently you only miss out on the 500 BP and get the emblem penality when the unhooked survivor goes down, not when they get attacked, so BT easily stalls out that time and is basically a guaranteed "safe unhook", even when the unhook itself was the definition of an unsafe unhook.
maybe this will encourage survivors to no longer unhook in the killers face with BT, unless its necessary to do so. after this change, we can look at how the perk is now doing and whether its actually too strong or not.
-
i dont think anyone needs a rework tbh.
all their powers are working fine, its just that some need buffs for their powers to be viable.
-
simply due to the lack of a definition for the term "camping" it should never be a bannable offense.
-
it would be neat if one chest was to guarantee an event item every trial...
that way you can farm them up - with competition of course
-
i think its just her left side that looks off.
from this angle it works just fine
from this one however it looks like two different colours.
-
@Cheers said:
Only if you're the last survivor. If not then no.
AND only after a certain timer is met.
otherwise some would suicide the second they go down, just to deny the killer their hooking and sacrifice points.
-
nah you're right having a harpoon stuck in your chest and forcefully ripping it out (literally breaking the chain it is attached to) doesnt injure you in the slightest.
he hit you, therefore he at least gets you injured, so the effort he went through shooting wasnt for nothing. therefore he cant down you without succesfully reeling you in.
also you can hardly call it "outsmarting him", when he sniped you from a long distance and you happened to have a random object around you could get behind. you dont "outplay" a deathslinger while being on his chain - he already outplayed you in that scenario.

Why do you assume it's hackers? It's probably just a bug because something similar happened to me. But not hrs, just 15 min or so
cause Tru3 said so and i have no reason not to believe him here.
i wasnt there when it happened, but uppon checking he did have a 72 hour ban, aswell as holding a lengthy monologe about hackers abusing the system, aswell as answering questions from chat asking him what happened with "i got hacked".

Which was exactly my point. When it happens to "noname guy" its "not possible" I mean, just this week there was a thread. "Not possible" was the common reply. "You must be DCing over and over" but when its Tru3,... you dont accuse him?
Yet, here we are with the same problem,... someone "I did not DC but got a 24+ hour ban"
but naaah not a problem, only when it affects a streamer. You literally proved my point for me.
its not "not possible", but there is no proof for it.
its a lot more likely they are lying about them getting the ban "from one DC" or they did DC a few times without having 10 hrs of gameplay inbetween said DCs, than them being targeted by a hacker.
if the devs were to just unban everyone who claimed that "it wasnt their fault", the whole point of the DC penality would be lost as everyone would be abusing that now.
its possible its bugged, its possible hackers hacked you, but its a lot less likely - and without proof you have bad cards. Tru3 had plenty of proof, thats why he got it removed immediately.
-
as we learned from previous events:
most probaply.
they wont even put them in the shop for a small AC price or anything like that, just for free for everyone.
-
@xiozen said:
Update: Looks like the devs fixed it. Hopefully.
they removed his matchmaking ban, but that doesnt mean the problem is fixed.
said hackers could still very much give him a new one / affect others who dont have an audience, which is the thing that needs to be fixed first.
removing his ban was important, but not a fix.
i really hope they find a solution to this fast...
-
you need to record the game and send the recording as additional proof here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
an ingame report is mandatory for this though.
if that happened, the account that used the bot will most likely get banned.
-
this one requires Dev attention ASAP!
please bring this up to the team as soon as you can, it cant be that hackers can abuse the system like that!
-
Darkness Among Us.
just because of how many times Legion freaking broke the game and how much trouble we had with them.
-
i want a survivor perk that allows me to escape with multiple items at once.
especially during events! like, last game i got two event flashlights - and the game before that i got 3 event medkits and both times i could only save one :C
-
how long did you chase him?
and did all 3 gens pop at the exact same time?
cause its entirely possible he's been holding 2 gens at 99% and just popped them one after the other.
-
nothing beats a tombstone myers outright grabbing and killing the guy taunting him right at the escape line xD
-
i got every DLC they ever put out (okay that was a lie. i am still missing out on the Head Case)

Not true, I haven't disconnected. I just restarted my console hoping it's a glitch maybe.
Nope not a glitch it literally banned me 6 hours for disconnecting once
one DC = 5 minute ban
two DCs = 5 minute ban
three DCs = 15 minute ban
...
a LOT more than one DC = 6 hour ban
the way this system works is, that when you DC you "level up" - the higher the "level" is, the longer the ban is going to be. these "levels" will not reset on their own, but instead you will lose ONE "level" with ~10 hours of DC free gameplay.
so if you DCed multiple times in longer periodes of time, without having 10 hrs of DC free gameplay inbetween, you will get harsher bans every time.
also keep in mind, this system does count game crashes as "Disconnecting", so maybe your game crashed a few times, leading to the long ban time?
anyway, you can not get a 6 hour ban just for DCing once without having any previous history in disconnecting.
also, before a mod says it:
the forums arent the right place to address bans.
if you have any questions, go here and aske the support team for help: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

works on everyone but the killer.
id like them to add the killer to that match detail list, honestly.
that way we could check ingame who the killer is (profile name, not character ofc), aswell as being able to access their profile in case of a needed report.
-
please just try to hide the bait next time.
this one is so obvious, it hurts
-
no, if you're a real BIG brain, you run Selfcare, Botany Knowledge and Resillience for the fast self heals!

The thing is that I wanna take the game seriously and try to get good at it, but I also wanna not have an annoyingly unfair advantage. I realize the whole "its unfun because youre gonna just get hooked again" philosophy because I play a lot more survivor. I just wanted other people's opinions on the matter so I could decide on whether or not its #########-ish
i handle it like this:
i try to avoid tunneling, unless im forced to. if the unhooked is the only one i find / if they force themselves on me with their BT and DS, they get tunneled (and when they do the later, i will tunnel them even when they already used their DS up later on, as they really seemed to enjoy it and really want me to do it), until i eigther find an easier target and drop the chase with them, or they get rehooked.
however, when they give me the opportunity to down both, i will take that.
when is it tunneling though?
i have this wonderful saying i go by "when they get back on the gen, they are ready for the hook again". as long as they dont push the objective and heal up first, i wont go after them. but once i see them on a gen, its fair game to kill them.
other than that, once they are healed its no longer tunneling.
-
i actually just equipped it, because i noticed a lack of them in my survivor games.
not having at least an obsession can be really bad for your team, as the killer is free to tunnel whoever he wants - and he knows it.
-
its extremely unfun for the one previously on the hook.
its not "unfair" though, but it is very annoying and makes you seem like you A: take the game very seriously (sweaty / tryhard) or B: you only want to ruin the other players fun (toxic).
i can understand why one does it, but i can also understand why many hate it and get upset about it.
-
the only emblem i have trouble with is the Malicious emblem tbh.
like, 3 times in a row i got Iridescent Gatekeeper, Iridescent Devout, Iridescent Chaser and then miss out on the adept achievement because of a golden Malicious...
could it be that giving a Survivor their final judgement does not count as a hook?
-
yeah i cant wait to get my Bloodpoint!
seriously, have they fixed the wording yet, or is it still a "one time only bonus Bloodpoint"?
-
what if they removed the loud screaming he does when teleporting and instead make it that all lights flicker? that would be really cool!
-
considering that they were the powerrole its only natural that, uppon balancing the game, survivors would get the stick over and over until its fair.
its still not entirely fair, but honestly i feel like its decently balanced right now and therefore no one needs any big buffs anymore.
-
what if i want to answer though?

Isn't that achievement the tombstone one? It isn't with ebony
that also exists, but its not the one i was referring to.
i believe its called "Blood on your face" and it requires you to kill all 4 survivors in a trial.
-
i dont think deleting something is the right way of doing it.
for the ebony mori it would even be impossible, as there is an achievement bound to killing everyone with it.
instead, how about this:
the Cypress Memento Mori stays unchanged. The Ivory and Ebony Memento Mori however stay deactivated until every Survivor has been hooked once.
That would still leave them with some power to them, though it would stall out their usage in game, allow for some actual counterplay on the survivors part AND would get rid of the annoying insta tunnel and mori off a hook scenario.
for keys, the Broken Key should stay unchanged, i agree (maybe the time on it could be buffed a little). Dull Keys now only allow the Key holder to escape through hatch and the only way to have everyone escape is with a Skeleton Key.
also, Ultra Rare Items should not be obtainable from chests, unless the perk Plunderers Instinct is used. The Keys now also feature a lengthy hatch opening animation, which the killer can interrupt. And to top it off, Keys should not remain in the trial once a Survivor dies - we could change the Add On the key has that allows the user to take it with them uppon Death to instead allow it to spawn underneath a hook / on their dead body uppon death.

I watch Otzdarva and even he says Legion is in a bad place... They are definitely not mid tier.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1387799#Comment_1387799
It's surprising to hear someone say they go against Legion regularly.
i never claimed he'd be good. all i said was that, AT BEST, he can make it to mid tier, implying that even with the best possible loadout for him he can not make it past mid tier, which is really bad - especially when considering how deadly certain other killers can get when using their strongest build. for example a pinky finger clown or a speed add ons bubba can be pretty good, but legion cant. he is rather cosistent in the low to low mid tier he usually gets placed in.

The way you try to talk about the positives of Legion reminds me of how people talked about old Freddy. He was an awful killer but some people managed to develop a play style with him and did well. Despite that niche he was still considered the weakest.
Some people might be able to do well with a killer but that doesn't mean they are in a good spot. If a person understands the mechanics of the game well enough they could be great as any role and any killer such as Tru3, Otzdarva, and Monto.
there are some striking differences between these two characters, the most noticable being the RNG aspect old Freddy had, which Legion does not at all have.
I believe that Legion are a much more consistent character than most will aknowlege him for and that he can be pretty good when in the right hands.
the scenario is the same as with nurse: nurse is the strongest killer and she has been acknowledged as such by the community, yet unexperienced nurses get easily stomped. the only difference here is, that Legion has not been acknowledged as the decent killer he actually is, as most people tend to underestimate his abilities or lack the general skill required to play him well.
cause if one isnt a good M1 killer, they wont be able to play as Legion.
Legions main power lies in having everyone injured and being able to mindgame more easily, making for a really deadly combo when done right, but being ultimately useless when you are lacking in one of these aspects.
i am fully aware that the opinion i have of this killer is very different to the opinion most have of him, though i do believe to be right, due to having quite a lot of experience in playing this Killer and doing consistently well, aswell as seeing others paly him well.
none of this means that they were a good killer though - al i am saying is that their power is fine the way it is and does not require a full on rework to be better, just a couple of buffs here and there - which ties back into the original question of "do you want Legions power to get fully reworked or would some tweaks here and there be enough?" - my answer is that a few small buffs are enough.

What's our character pattern; is there a certain pattern that we've had in the past? If anything, he'd fit our character pattern. It's not uncommon for two licensed characters to be released one after another. If you're referring to the character's aesthetic, I guess that's mostly subjective.
The main thing I struggle to see is how a game that gathered a young audience 6 years ago can bring that same young audience to DbD now. Any 13 year-old who liked FNaF when it was popular are all almost adults now. Even the newer fans of the series are older, due to the older YouTubers with young audiences (such as Markiplier) playing other games.
EDIT: wording
every killer in DbD is a human / humanoid monster (Demodoggo as the only exception to the "only humans" rule).
Springtrap however is a mechanical killer robot. yeah there is a dead human inside of it, but that still doesnt mean it would fit into this game. that would be like saying a Terminator T 800 would fit into DbD, because it kills people and kinda looks humaniod.
also, up to this day i mostly see younger people attracted to the FNaF series - eigther younger people or really cringey older people, so i really just hope they are young (for them). that doesnt mean there were no "normal" FNaF fans out there, but the vast majority i see - or maybe its just the vocal minority, idk - is rather young (no offense).
DbD and FNaF as games couldnt be further apart aswell - when i think of DbD i think of avoiding killers, getting chased around the map or playing said killers and using my power to shorten said chases. when i think of FNaF however, i think of sitting in an office, getting cheap jumpscares thrown in my face from time to time that scare me at first and then get stale and boring after a short while. i really cant see these two games collab tbh.
i just wouldnt want Springtrap in DbD.
i dont think he would fit into this game at all, and thats my opinion on it. feel free to disagree, but i dont think you are going to change my mind on this one.

Slowing the game down does very little when it comes to actually fulfilling the killer's objective which is.... To kill the survivors. Otherwise they are just m1 killers. Even Trapper and Wraith have more going for them despite also being m1 killers.
It seems that hardly anybody actually plays as Legion which should say a lot. Which brings up another question. How do they know Legion is fine if the sample size is so small? But, if they think Legion is fine then what can we do?
To me, they seem to be in a very bad place. There have been a few members of the forum who said they enjoy Legion but the feeling I get is they are the vocal minority. Maybe, I just need to accept that I don't like Legion and just ignore them. That'd be a shame though.
slowing the game down is one of the most important aspects of this game. Without a decent game slow down you are going to get all the gens done in a matter of only a few minutes.
the legion, when combined with Thanatophobia, is really good at this, as survivors are now forced to eigther be oneshot and work slowly, or to heal up and waste tons of time, especially due to how easy it actually is for Legion to get them injured again.
their chase ability is also rather basic, but you can see them as a killer with a constant instadown. as legion there very rarely ever is someone healthy in front of you - and if they are you press M2 and get them injured immediately, aswell as receiving a positionreveal of everyone around you. so basically every chase you do is against injured players, meaning you can instadown anyone.
also lets not forget their small playmodel! thats something thats being overlooked a lot, yet this really helps at mindgaming survivors.
they are definitely not the best killer, they are at best mid tier, but they are still not a horribly bad killer and i would rank both Bubba and Clown beneath them.
you should definitely go and watch Otzdarva play them a bit - he is actually really good at Legion (and watching his gameplay did change my mind about this killer aswell - prior to this i did share your opinion)

@Kebek said:
It's a second chance perk that can turn the game around. Ofc people will use it, just like survivors use theirs.
honestly, you cant even call it a second chance perk anymore.
dont get me wrong, it defenitely was one! but when the 1.5.0 update dropped and changed it into a Hex perk, it shifted from being a cheap second chance for killers / a "reward for failure" to a punishment for those who ignored the totems throughout the trial.
had they just done bones they wouldnt suffer the insta down right now. its entirely in the survivors hands whether this perk activates or not, which no longer makes it a valid "second chance perk" for the killer.
let me explain further:
a "second chance perk" is a perk that will activate and help you out in a scenario where you screwed up. Dead Hard for example lets you continue a loop and dodge a hit when you previously screwed it up - it allows you to avoid the punishment.
however, NOED doesnt do that. while it does have the aspect of turning an unfavorable situation the killer is in into a favorable one (which makes it seem like a second chance perk), there is no guarantee for it to ever activate. the killer can screw up as badly as they want, if the survivors did bones, there wont be a NOED to save them - no matter what they do.
if the killer was able to deactivate Dead Hard by maybe destroying something on the map, Dead Hard would aswell no longer be a second chance, but instead act as punishment for the killer not getting THEIR secondary objective done (exhaustion add ons do not count, as not every killer has access to them. it has to be something that every killer is able to do by default).
so the only thing that stands between NOED and it being a "second chance perk" is the currently existing totem requirement.
-
i was tossing around the idea of selecting items, add ons or offerings of a certain rarity to appear in your next bloodweb.
the way that was supposed to work was, that each time you prestiged you obtained a slot where you could select one - slot one would only work on common, slot two on common and uncommon and slot three on common, uncommon and rare items / add ons / offerings.
while i do like your idea, i feel like that would be a lot of work for the devs, as they would have to reprogramm a lot of perks and powers just in the case someone did prestige these characters.
this would not only be a humongous amount of work to do, it would also lead to many many many bugs with that system - and it would indirectly punish casual players who dont have the time to prestige / those who maxed out their characters without prestiging by giving them a competetive disadvantage.
imo you shouldnt get a competetive advantage with prestiging, but rather get some more utility based boni from it, such as the currently existing higher chance of items of a higher rarity appearing in your bloodwebs.
-
haha, no.
that would effectively kill the perk.
instead how about finally getting that totem counter on Small Game?
also if you have trouble finding totems, use Small Game, Detectives Hunch, Maps or just map knowledge.
its really not that hard to take them all down.
-
i honestly dont think Legion is that bad of a killer.
yeah he isnt great and he does get outshined by many others, but his ability to slow the game down should not be underestimated.
i dont think a rework is necessary at all at the moment - a few smaller buffs however would be nice, such as shortening the fatigue or increasing the Freal Frenzy time / recovery speed (or, ya know, removing the aspect that you lose half of your power just for hitting someone).
also id say the punishment he receives for missing a swing in FF is a little much - getting broken out of your power? fine. but immediately losing all your power at once aswell as being broken out of it? thats a little harsh imo.
-
i have no idea where all of that is comming from, but personally i would really not want him in DbD.
besides the fact that he would not at all fit our character pattern, i do fear he is going to attract quite a few rather cringey younger people to the game...
and honestly, i would just cringe every time i saw him in a trial... sorry FNaF fans.
-
thats weird.
you should have gotten one uncommon charm, an uncommon Deathslinger head and a common Claudette body...
are you sure you havent received any of these? you wont get any notification that you got them, so maybe you just missed them?
if not i would suggest reporting it to the bug report section, maybe tagging a Dev, asking them to give you the cosmetics you missed...
-
@drimmalor said:
You can usually bait the stun if you're suspecting it. Otherwise, having a delay would essentially make the perk useless - it was extremely inconsistent on its release, and sometimes even had such a delay, and it was basically unusable.
i usually do that and then get stunned AFTER the survivor already left the locker and starts moving again.
please tell me thats something the devs are aware of :(
