the requirement is in place, so survivors cant just collect a crown and then immediately suicide on hook to collect them.
so by forcing them to escape with it, it ensures that the hook suicide numbers dont skyrocket.
its not perfect, but it is indeed necessary.
-
id be fine with that.
i only had Trapper Legacy 1 to begin with, so thats just fine for me ^^

Calling bullcrap on everyone @Mister_xD @Yogerman1997 etc who acts like they play super casual and somehow capped it with 2-3 weeks to go. You guys are playing at least 40 hours a week.
During COVID I have been playing 25+ hours a week @Milo and each tome level I only have 1-2 challenges left (mainly because I do not own the killer/survivor) ..... I'm rank 60.
Here is the reality .... RIFT WILL TAKE YOU 150-250 HOURS TO COMPLETE BASED ON:
1) If you do ALL the challenges, the less you do the closer to 250 hours.
2) Rank/queue times, don't forget the 1 to 5 minutes you sit in lobby waiting. This "real life" time counts.
3) Skill/luck/farming matches/DCs/etc
why would i lie about this?

there are a few ways to kill a survivor without having to hook them first.
one would be the Cypress Memento Mori, as it will allow the killer to kill the last remaining survivor in the trial with no additional requirements.
another one would be Devour Hope, which allows the killer to kill and instadown a survivor when a certain hook save threshold is met. this perk however requires these unhooks to happen far away from the killer and is bound to a totem, so its destroyable. however, once he reaches 5 unhooks, he can go and kill whoever he sees.
the third option would be rancor, though this perk only works when the 5th generator is repaired and only on the obsession.
i believe thats all the options there are at the moment.
the thing you are describing seems to be a fully stacked Devour Hope play - if he didnt have that perk equipped, i dont know what happened (maybe you did get hooked, but forgot it later down the line? dunno)
-
ime he only needs a few adjustments to be a good killer:
- start the trial with all traps in hand and dont have a limitation to how many traps you can carry at once (bag add ons simply increase the amounf of traps he has, so default would be 6, trapper sack would give 1 more, trapper bag would give 2 more and stitched sack would give 2 more aswell as another small boost (e.g. faster setting time))
- escaping the trap is now a lengthy animation and no longer RNG based, however the animation gets greatly reduced when a friends comes to help you (lets say from 20 to 5 seconds or sthg like that - add ons such as the wax brick that currently reduce the chances of escaping now increase the time required to escape a trap)
there, thats all they need to change on this specific character to make him decent, yet nothing has happened in that regard for years.

Just out of curiosity, how much you guys play a day (or in general)
not all that much tbh.
i do play on a daily basis, but usually its no more than 3 to 6 games before i call it a night.
though i do sometimes somehow manage to get enough motivation to play the game A LOT.
like yesterday, where i unlocked every killer crown (from clown onwards), the dwight and kate crown aswell as getting all remaining challenges done (besides Dwights Fright - that were at least 5 master challenges btw), boosting my rift from tier 63 to almost 69.
EDIT: one thing i forgot is, that as a contrary to the days where i play nonstop, i also have plenty of "burnout days" - actually at the beginning of this rift i was so unmotivated, i just barely managed to get the challenges done before the next level opened, even though i pretty much first tried them all. sometimes i barely played in weeks.
also im now tier 69 with 7/10 fragments and no challenges left.
-
currently im at tier 68 with 9/10 fragments.
also got one master challenge left (Dwights Fright), so i can totally see me getting this rift done early this time.
its funny to see how i improved over the time... rift 1 i had to buy ~6 tiers to complete it, rift 2 i barely managed to complete with the given time and rift 3 i complete almost 2 weeks early...
thats an interesting develpoment xD

How much points do i get for the crown?
i believe you get 250 points for picking it up and 500 points for escaping with it / generally ending the trial as killer.
so you should get 750 points in total from them
-
events now and in the past give you bonus points for doing their special objectives - these points are given on top of your total score and dont have any limitation to them.
(screenshot taken during the halloween event)
-
why would the entity do that though?
the entity doesnt care whether a killer is facecamping or not, all the entity wants is for the killers to kill the survivors and for the survivors to try and escape their fate - if a killer is facecamping, they are just doing their job.
the entity doesnt care HOW they do it, all it cares for is results - good killers are rewarded, bad killers are punished.
sometimes it gives the killer a helping hand when they struggle (window blockers), but it will mostly stay out of the trial and just observe.
it doesnt want escape to be impossible after all, it just wants to build up hope and then crush it again and again and again.
how about we make it, so if the killer is within X meters to the hook and survivors are at least Y meters away from it, they will get a buff to their repair speed instead.
the one on the hook is dead, but you can still help the others survive.
-
ive had those aswell.
seems like they found a way to lagswitch, as mine would also get extremely laggy once i entered a chase (ya know, running in one direction then teleporting to the other side of the map) and i also couldnt hook em.
i really hope the devs are aware of this.
-
id also like to be able to select challenges / check on the rift while in the lobby.
also a notification ingame that tells you when you got your challenge would be highly appreciated.
-
please no!
tier 3 is already enough noisespam, i really dont want it to be even more!
they should just make the perk update its information more often, so that it stops glowing yellow once the 2nd survivor leaves the gen instead of lasting the whole 12 seconds.
-
i just realized - with this event you are no longer the only person on this forum who had a crown! :o
-
once a year the entity unlocks the AK47s and looks away for a night.
sounds great xD

That would be nice! Because although the crowns aren't a new challenge and just fashion, killers I've come across today seem to be making it their own challenge to not let those that found the crown escape via tunneling. So it's become an unfair event.
yeah apparently there have been a lot of players out there with a toxic mindset today...
i never understood such people tbh. yeah i can understand tunneling when someone pissed me off, but doing it just to be toxic, for no other reason, just to ruin someone elses game - someone who has done nothing wrong - thats just scummy imo.
i think there is definitely room for improvement in this events structure - lets hope they will fix these problems with the next event / maybe even change how this event works before it ends.

Then killers should at least need a 2-3k to keep their crown. All I've had all day are sweaty killers that either have the crown or found it and just tunnel survivors so they don't get to keep their cosmetic. Something at least should be driving killers to keep their crown just like survivors - otherwise one side gets it effortlessly and the other side may be deprived from it.
i would prefer it if they allowed survivors to keep their crown when they sticked around until the trial was over tbh.
the crowns arent ment to be challenges a player needs to complete, they are ment to be given to those who just participate and play a bit.
so instead of making it harder for killer (which would suck, especially for those who still need their Nurse crown), imo they should make it easier for survivors to gain them.
why not have it so that crowns will be awarded to those who collected one once everyone is in the end result screen?
that way no one can just suicide on hook, grab their crown and leave within 5 minutes, while its also not a necessity to survive in order to get one.

Keeping in mind, I play both sides of the game and enjoy both sides... but you say this and I can't help but wonder, what about the killers just going and getting the crown and then wandering around doing nothing the whole game to get the crowns ASAP?
When I'm playing survivor I appreciate a fun, friendly killer. They're so rare I greatly appreciate someone who's willing to not be sweaty and just have fun. After a dozen games of tunneling and camping killers, I had to log off for the afternoon because I was fed up with it.
The point of this thread is that it's the Devs are asking a LOT more of survivors than they are killers. Yes, a survivor could just get the crown, run to the killer and kill themselves on hook to collect the crown. However, they are required to survive the match. The killer on the other hand just has to get the crown and doesn't have to do anything else the ENTIRE MATCH to get it.
With 2 weeks to get the crown on my survivors (and I already have 5) I'm not worried about it at all and getting it for killer will be easy because hey, all I have to do is find it and BOOM, it's mine after the match no matter how badly I do. I could legit get the crown and go AFK off in the corner.
The fact you can't see the problem with that... I feel sorry for you.
Killers should at least have to hook all survivors at least one time to get the crown. That would be far more fair in my opinion as far as obtaining a cosmetic.
you missed the point of my post.
i merely pointed out why the restriction is in place, and why it is necessary to be there.
i never said that a killer AFKing after grabbing a crown was okay (its literally a bannable offense - if one does it, record and report them), or that it was fair towards the survivors - i completely agree that its quite unfair and certainly not the best solution they could have had, but it is a solution to a very realistic problem that needed to be addressed.
without this restriction the forum would be full of people complaining about survivors grabbing a crown and immediately suiciding on hook not even 5 minutes into the trial. that ruins the game for everyone, therefore they had to disable that option.
whether its fair or not, whether some killers have a toxic mindset or not, whether its fun for both sides or not, whether killers can just AFK or not, etc. has nothing to do with my previous post.
i merely tried to explain why the system works this way, the one who brought all these things up and put tons of words in my mouth i never said (such as "i wouldnt see a problem with killers grabbing a crown and AFKing") was you and you alone.

and killers can freely tunnel them when they see they have it, bm to make sure they know they're doing it, and ruin the game for everybody.. because that's fine,,
not if you were to equip all the anti tunnel perks you got.
its not like the crowns made it any easier for the killer to tunnel you after all.
what you are describing here is the playerbase acting toxic towards one another - which isnt really a surprise tbh. ive had survivors with crown heads walk around, stealing crowns just so others couldnt get them. that too wasnt nice of them.
oh and no, i didnt say "that was fine" - being toxic in general isnt fine. but the camp / tunnel question has nothing to do with why this requirement was implemented in the first place.
its not ment to be a challenge towards the survivor, it is ment to deny them the ability to instantly suicide (which most would probaply do).
these crowns arent ment to be obtained by completing challenges, they are ment to be obtained just by playing the game. is it harder for survivors to do it? certainly. is that fair? no. - but its a necessary evil.
and i guarantee you, if killers had any way to end the game early and just go to the next one while the others were still playing, that would be restricted aswell.
-
its meant to disencourage players from ending the trial early just to claim all crowns asap.
killers will have to stay the entire game, therefore they dont need to alter anything there - survivors on the other hand could just immediately get themselves killed uppon collecting a crown - this would ruin the game for everyone else, especially when large numbers of players were doing it.
therefore, to encourage them to stay the whole game, they gotta survive with a crown.
-
honestly, the cosmetic Daddy Slinger got is so far the best looking one he has - well besides the Prestige look - in my opinion.
dunno, for some reason im really not a big fan of the other cosmetics he has :/
-
it would have been really cool if they could be added to whatever cosmetic you're currently wearing.
cuz the way they did it now it looks like im gonna wear them once for the celebration, then never again.
-
congrats, you just prestiged your character.
uppon prestiging, you get said bloody cosmetic, but therefore the characters progress gets reset.
you can prestige a character up to 3 times by the way, so if you wish to get a fully bloody cosmetic set of them, you'll have to do that twice more.
however, all his teachable perks will stay unlocked - both on the character and on others.
-
it would be enough if they would at least give the skins back to those who have LITERAL EVIDENCE of them posessing the skins in the past!
but nah,
that'd be too easy.

To all of you killers who tunnel the survivor who bring keys to their matches. Did you know that survivors tend to really like getting chased by the killer?
they must really enjoy mories and hook camps aswell
otherwise that key thing isnt gonna turn out too great for them.
-
bind your basic attack key to something weird such as '9'.
now you will ONLY be able to throw hatchets - you will get it like that eventually (well, or you are gonna develop a strategy on how to move your hand from your mouse to your keyboard, hitting the new attack key without losing ground ingame)
-
pure willpower.
and i have gone further - besides Nurse, Hag, Pig and Pyramid Head i have everyone P3 with all perks besides Pyramid Heads (thats a work in progress)

Nah actually, soak up the downs for that first go, spread out so she can't use Infectious Fright to slug you all and play it safe for the minute. That's the SMART thing to do, most people just go and cleanse for the ExTrA HeAlTh StAtE. You could also force it on her if you've got a good SWF team.
im not gonna gift her that 4k just so i can say "well at least i didnt give her her power".
if we have one guy hooked, another one downed and the third potentially in a chase i wont go there while fully infected, unless i know its safe to do so.
that would be suicide.
also i have no controll over what the randoms in my team are doing, so "just spread out" or "coordinate your approach properly" is great advise - for SWFs, which really helps me as a solo player.
-
DS is an extremely strong perk.
if you want to have usage of it, equip it.
we dont need survivors to be able to have 5 meta perks equipped at once
-
she starts with a corrupted fountain now, so not cleansing can be worse than cleansing (sometimes)
though i wont be the one who starts the whole cleansing stuff - ill do it in endgame / when the team is going down like nothing anyway and there is more profit in being healthy and going for hook rescues, though thats it.
i will start cleansing however once someone else cleansed, as that person is going to cleanse whenever they can anyway, so staying infected, loud and broken is just a huge disadvantage at that point.
-
it heavily depends on the killer i play / verse.
i LOVE indoormaps on stealth killers.
i hate the multi level aspect of Gideon and Midwich though. Especially when its NOT a stealth killer and i just have a constant heartbeat 24/7 -.-
though, they are really good against spirit. you can hear her footsteps very well on these maps floors and it makes it a lot easier to pinpoint her location.
-
i 100% agree with you.
after more than 2 years of not getting the legacys back i honestly pretty much gave up - though i AT LEAST want a good excuse / explanation for it BHVR!
-
honestly, i find it absurdly difficult to build up map pressure on that map.
like, i know they are working on a certain gen, yet i can not reach it in time before it pops.
-
just permaban every killer who is within a 32m radius to the hook for more than 5 seconds.
see, its easy!
now we can all enjoy our game without these annoying killers ruining our fun :D
-
i agree that the free rift is quite empty.
they should add something like BPs or Iridescent Shards to it imo.
-
maybe a bug, but 100% not an exploit.
knowing BHVR they are gonna say it was intended and leave it in though xD
-
thats most likely due to the lack of Ultra Rare things a killer can obtain from their bloodweb, compared to the many things survivors have.
usually a killer has 3 Ultra Rares, so when the bloodweb gives them one there is a 1/3 chance for it to be an Ebony Mori.
Survivors however have 5 Ultra Rares, therefore the chance to get a Skeleton Key is only 1/5.
BUUUUUUUUUT we shouldnt forget about a certain Very Rare Item in existance, equal to the Skeleton Keys strength. however, getting one of these has a 1/12 chance to appear any time you get a Very Rare item, therefore Very Rares are easier to come across than Ultra Rares - plus you can loot them from chests midgame, which makes them even easier to get.
if you want keys, use plunderers. you will be surprised how common these actually are.
-
every killer has the exact same lunge range by default.
his attacks are no different from anyone elses.
-
your first post on a profile created 10 minutes prior to posting this, stating something that is 100% untrue, while also attacking the opinions of as many people as possible.
im sorry, this basically screams "bait!" at me.
-
in low ranks killer is the easier role, as survivors are very inexperienced and they cant get a good use of their tools.
the higher you get however, the more this shifts to the point where survivors are the powerrole in high ranks.
at rank 1, survivor is a lot more chill than killer is, mainly due to killers not being allowed to make any mistakes whatsoever, otherwise they are risking their win chances.
-
Nurses = healing close to you is extremely dangerous
Deathbound = healing far away from you is dangerous (position reveal + oblivious)
when you combine both, there is only a very small grey zone of 8m where they can heal and not get negative effects.
both give away the survivors location, and one makes them vulnerable to ambushes after being healed.
-
Neigther
the game is certainly survivor sided, but there have been multiple changes to that in the past and there will be others in the future.
the devs are not balancing around only one side, as they have done in the past, they are balancing around both sides to try and make the game the best for all instead of letting one side have fun on expense of the other.
-
dunno but it ruins games on both sides.
i have died countless times because someone else decided to ruin everything and kill himself on hook immediately - and as killer ive hardly blackpipped with a 4k thanks to hook suicides.
imo hook suicides are just as bad for this game as DCs were. there should be some sort of punishment for it to disencourage people from doing it (i am actively reporting all those who do it, but i actually have no clue whether it actually does anything or not. fact is, that its extremely annoying, unfun and unfair to have in your matches and it made me want to quit DbD multiple times in the past weeks after having 2+ hook suicides in one trial over the span of multiple trials in a row - and it doesnt particulary make the situation any better when the killer decides the best course of action was to slug for the 4k and onehook everyone (seriously, thats just extremely sweaty and unnecessary, especially after two hook suicides. shame on you.))
-
maybe the mori doesnt check whether you actually achieved a hook score event (like BBQ or PGTW do), but whether a Survivor is in second hookstage or not?
but yeah, the description does state you needed to hook them so i'd say its a justified change.
-
this happened to my friends today aswell.
they were spectating and once the EGC started / the gates got powered (idk i didnt hear it myself), they heard the sirens.
guess its a new
bugfeature? -
pff, thats nothing!
I have every single Executioner cosmetic in the game! HA!
on a serious note: congrats my dude! that does require some serious dedication! (and money)
-
the only thing id change with that build would be corrupt for discordance.
imo discordance works extremely well on legion, as he always needs to know where multiple targets are at to get the best use out of his power - especially in the earlygame.
-
if they were to give an exact number, there would be trolls abusing that by holding the game hostage till just before said time is reached in order to make the game as miserable as possible for others while not being punishable for it.
its better when no one knows.
-
no, this is definitely a bannable offense.
you should definitely report players like these.
