  • How many totems are typically on the map? I've never counted.

I don't think Ruin is OP, but it certainly changes the dynamics of the match. When I realize its on, I don't even bother doing a gen unless I have a toolbox and a teammate. Otherwise, as soon as I see its on, I just spend the rest of the time looking for it.

Since they do effect the game so much, I don't think skillchecks should be necessary when it can sometimes be damn hard to find the things. But, I think if you cleanse it, the killer should be able to take just as much time as it takes to cleanse one, to relight another. This would give them the option to MOVE the totem if they don't like the initial placement, and doesn't totally defeat a perk slot if its found right away. The killer would need to make a choice, just like the survivors, if they want to take the time to re-light totems.

  • I do think showing survivors who are together as together should be a thing. Its helpful even for the other survivor party members. They can have them holding hands.

If killers are vehemently anti-SWF, then at least it would give them actual information for their lobby dodging behaviors, rather than just dodging willi-nilli when they see people arrive together. On busy nights I see this happen all the time, and they're not all SWF.

  • As I think about this, I think its a really good idea - and I typically play Survivor.

The game needs more variety. I think the ease of unlocking "teachable perks" and creating all the same survivor with optimized load outs really dulled it down. The characters on their own were kind of balanced and served specific roles. If they had worked with that to make each character as unique as each killer, it'd be really cool (which I think is what they're trying to do with death garden).

So make claudette the healer type, but give her some better stealth and finding skills, since she wouldn't be your main "gen runner". Make one of the characters the distraction master, dodging and out running the killer. Etc. Then... probably don't let more than one character in a match at a time.

  • Would also making health kits more important. Right now its just a toss in item when I don't have anything better to take. I wish they'd change too - the addons are really stupid. "Adds X more charges!" Big woop, who most matches I never get to use it enough for it to matter.

May also make Empathy (a perk I personally love) more important so that the healer can find people.

  • So they're changing self care?

Why would anyone want to derank? (I know the answer to this, I just think its kind of pathetic)

No. The other survivors are already punished by the explosion alerting the killer.

yea but what if the killer is chasing someone? they keep repairing

Right. And the killer needs to decide if its worth scattering them all off the gen or not. When I play killer, I usually scatter them all of the gen, give it a kick, and start hunting again.

  • The killer should be able to take the time to re-light a non-cleansed dull totem after the original is cleansed, or move the hex to another dull totem if they find one that seems more hidden.

  • I'm still pretty low-tier survivor, but from my experience timer or not - the RBT doesn't matter because every Pig I've encountered is just going to camp the hook. I think it'd be a more interesting dynamic if they had to chose RBT or the hook. As in, they have to let the survivor go with the RBT.

I don't really know how this would fully play out from a gameplay setting, but I think it'd make the Pig a lot more interesting, and probably more fitting with the actual lore.

  • So regardless if I have unlocked them via the store they will start to show up in the specific characters bloodweb at level 30?

But if I want it to show up in **other characters** blood webs, I need to unlock it in the store.  Correct?
  • Queue times will go down when they make it more balanced for killers. So few people want to play as the killer right now.

  • If you're on PSN, you may need to go to your system account settings and restore licenses (or something like that)

  • @iceman2kx The problem I see with more bloodpoints is that high level players don't need them, and while the extra cash is nice, I'd rather have fun in the game. Getting blood points at the expense of fun isn't an answer.

  • @Utna I could buy that, but I'm not thrilled about it. It would also not punish solo survivors who end up with a 3 stack.

@iceman2kx Ranking with your highest party member rank is essential.

In my original draft I was trying to think of ways that the killers perks would ONLY be boosted towards the SWF people - that way again, we're not punishing the random guy who ends up with the group - but not all perks can be boosted in a meaningful way that way.

  • If survivors don't like options 1 or 2 then you are plainly admitting it has a huge advantage. If thats the case, then option 3 (or something like it) is the answer.

  • But yes! I'm not tired at all.

My only issue with the hatch is, that it should not open if anybody already escaped!

    Agree!

I think the hatch should be made available to the last survivor REGARDLESS of how many generators the players have completed BUT It is only open a percentage based on the amount of generators done. 5 Generators left, its going to take you nearly as much as time to open it as fixing a full generator. All but 1 generator done, it opens pretty quickly. If you don't have at least 1 generator done, its not open at all, and thus doesn't even make the wooshing noise.

  • The developers had this, and it was deemed unbalanced and didn't make sense in context of many survivors. The developers want you to have to click to vault. If you feel the screen indicator that you can now vault is being ill-timed than that is what should be fixed, not the requirement to have to push the button to trigger the vault.

  • Simple answer is likely the cost to license the character, and all parties to agree. Its an old franchise, so its likely harder to even track down everyone who would need buy-in on using Nancy.

  • It would be interesting if they had a game mode that allowed the killer to have a partner. 6 survivors, 2 killers, 7 generators.

  • I believe what people posted above is correct. If they just shut down the PS4 / Pull the Plug / Or Close the app, it will be hard disconnect and survivors lose all stat gains. If they just exit out of the game via the normal menu system, it counts as an escape for survivors.

It's not that big of a deal. Sadly nothing they can do. Simply go on to the next game, better luck next time.

A.) "Its not a big deal" is subjective. When you don't get a lot of opportunities to play, and the few games you do are not rewarding because the killer hard disconnects - it is a big deal.

B.) "Sadly nothing they can do" Thats flatly not true. The killer is the host of the game, and based on what I've seen, their programming logic is to not report back to Behavior servers until match completes. It should not be difficult to add a routine to the game that occasionally reports back to Behavior the current progress of the game. I'm sure its doing this in some manner already for other types of statistics. Adding in the blood points earned at that time should be trivial. That way, if the killer hard disconnects, the survivors could still get blood points since the last check-in.
