Having all survivors spawn together is GOOD for the killer. In many, many ways.

Yep, I main PH now with Moniter and Discord, and the second I see a secret survivor offering, it's not too hard to figure out what it was. Within 2 seconds of the match starts, boom. Head over and most times they're so focused on getting the gen slammed out I can injure at least 2 with my ranged, 3 if its a 3-man gen. After that it becomes a panic fest as they all block each other trying to escape. Pretty funny most times.

  • I haven't played the new cross-play yet, but I had a feeling this kinda thing would happen instantly. I have no issue playing against PC on DbD. I feel like a vast majority of the negativity comes from the 'PC has X advantage over console' and yes, I won't deny that it's true that PC can alter settings, but at the same time, that advantage is pretty small compared to other games that crossplay like Fortnite or Warzone, where PC do get a pretty big advantage over console. Right now it just seems to be turning into the usual war of 'Mines better than yours' and it's pretty sad we're still seeing this nowadays. Let's just all enjoy the game we love together and stop being at each others throats.

    *Some survivors

Not every survivor is this toxic abomination people like to make them out to be, i've made many friends from playing killer from the survivors i've versed

Same here honestly. I've had many matches where survivors have decimated me, and rather than the usual T-Bag in the gates, or spam noise, I'll just nod and basically make it obvious I'm letting them open a gate and leave, they'll usually drop their items for me or send a GG post-game. That's not to say you won't get the usual toxic behaviour when you do this of course, but I've found 90% of games that end this way were always a happy end for it.

  • Before I came to this game a couple years ago, I heard all the usual horror stories of toxicity and I just laughed it off thinking there was no way it was as bad as people claimed. My god I wish I could go back to those innocent days. I received constant toxic messages on my Xbox profile for weeks after some matches, received death threats, slander, etc. I couldn't beleive how low people were willing to go over a game. I switched over to PS4 a few months back and my friend claimed it was much better than Xbox, but nope, the same again. I shouldn't have to make my profile private on PS4 or Xbox just to avoid people like this, since I've met some good people in the game, and others, but because of DbD and the absolute toxic salt you receive, I feel like the second your profile becomes public, you're just placing a target on yourself. I mean, there's always toxicness in any game, but DbD seems to go to levels beyond extreme.

  • I never play any different in a match, obsession or not. If someone gets unhooked in my face, they get redowned and I leave them there to get picked up since I like to give everyone a fair chance. If nobody goes to help, then I'll re-hook after a while. There are times when I do end up eating a DS, but that's usually because a survivor decides to locker hop and I just pull them right back out to prove a point and move on to find someone else.

  • Feng hasn't been in a Tome yet so it's possible that she could be included in the next Tome release, or in the future.

You can't start a sentence with "no offence" and then proceed to be completely awful and non-constructive.

It's hard to be constructive when the game is a literal dumpster fire right now and all hope of it being fixed died long ago when more and more bugs just kept getting thrown into the game alongside new DLC. So sorry, not sorry.

I'm not that competitive - I just like to play.

I'm honestly not in a bad mood about it. Frustrated as I'm useless to my team and dead fast anyway. So it's like should I just de-pip to get to a level I should be at? and I'm I a bad teammate for doing it? or..

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1532735#Comment_1532735

Exactly enjoyable... and technically my teammates loss a teammate anyway. Just a minutes sooner really lol

It feels wrong to do that though. So I'm humming about it and I wondered if others felt the same atm.

I mean, on the one hand it does screw over the remaining teammates, but on the other hand, I really don't want to stay in a match where I'm just not enjoying myself. I play games for fun, and if it's not fun, I won't force myself to stay in it for anyone else.

  • Honestly I don't blame you. I came back to DbD after a couple days break and the first matches I get were Freddy's each running a mega-slowdown build that ended with 3 DC's and me dead on hook within the first minute of the match. I would honestly rather de-pip back to yellow than go against killers who sweat so hard. I just want a game that's enjoyable, not constant sweatfests 24/7 that just ruin the experience for me.

  • I mean, no offence to the devs or anything, but they couldn't fix their normal MM system after nearly a year so what made anyone think their MMR system would work? I honestly hope it doesn't come back until they confirm it works 100% because I can guarantee a lot of players left the game over this recent bork of MM

  • Just had a similar match against a baby Huntress and my god it was painfully obvious it was a baby killer. The other survivors clearly knew because they went out of their way to T-Bag and taunt them, which I really didn't agree with. The MM is bad enough without the newbies feeling even worse. I ended up staying in the match till EGC ended because, they were pretty good sports and tried to let me leave, but I wanted them to get at least some decent points because they tried so hard.

  • All the killers have a sort of 'feel bad' backstory that the Entity manipulated to it's own ends. The biggest one for me was always Spirit. Her backstory hits me hard since she was never meant to be a killer, but became one out of the want for revenge against what her father did, even though the Entity caused her father to murder her mother. You even see it in Spirit's lobby animation, the few seconds that she seems to realise what she's become. It always hits me in the feels.

Lol. "People should stop focusing on the nerfs they want and focus on the nerfs I want".

Never said that did I. I've never said I wanted nerfs so where this came from I have no idea.

  • The only times I'll use a Mori is if it's a newly released killer and I just want to see the mori animation. Or I just want to take some selfies with Survivors as GF. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a selfie with him?

    Okay firstly, mood.

Secondly, I just don't know how that's physically possible to put yourself through that emotional stress.

I second this. I can just about manage 1 game before I feel the need to throw my PS4 Controller into my TV screen.

  • I personally think people need to stop calling for so many killer nerfs. The killer role is the power role, hence STRONG. It's getting really tiring hearing the same thing over and over for every killer (Minus Freddy because he is a little too OP at times), but seriously. Let a killer have some strength and stop wanting EZ Games people. If nerfs got answered as much as they're cried for these days, this game would be a literal Gen simulator.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yeah, no, that's your fault. 3 minute chase? All right, there's no excuse: the gens should have been finished. If you did 1 or 2, then ######### at your other teammates, not the one that bought you all enough time to pop and escape.

This. So much this. I've ran a killer around for around 2-3 mins before, and not a single gen popped. Turns out they were following me around trying to flashlight save. So it's not always the chasees fault.

  • I wouldn't mind it being added in the game for sure, but as long as it also came with the option to mute it since I don't really enjoy hearing a 12 year old raging at me down mic because they're losing.

Which is the point i was making, you can run any survivor without a penalty you can't do that with killer. Every survivor is just the same the only differences they have are their appearance. Stats would be an interesting concept for survivors to have if you really think about it, it makes no sense how survivors all run at the same speed, or how we can run across a map like coldwin farm or rotten fields without being exhausted

I agree, it would, but then the game would grow old and boring. You'd see the exact same 4 survivors every match because they would have the best stats. We already have that in form of the 4 Meta perks for Survivors. Doing it with the same character wouldn't change much.

  • Why would survivors need to change? Survivors are just a skin change. A T3 Meg is no different from a untouched Yui for example. Killers are different because of the powers they have. Survivors 'power' comes from their perks, being their only defence barring Pallets/loops. So of course Killers play differently each time. You wouldn't expect, for example, a Demogorgon to try sneak around like a Myers because their powers are so different. Demogorgon is loud and you know how he can cover distance easily, where Myers will try sneak around and get his power from you without you realising. Survivors don't need to build up anything, or setup the match.

  • I tested this with a fresh account on PS4 and it started out as normal as ever. All basic new ranks for a couple survivor matches, but then after around 5, high ranks began to appear, including killers. Switching to killer was instant 4 red ranks against Rank 20. I'd honestly love to get my friend into the game ready for the cross-play update in the future, as he is on Xbox, but right now, I've steered him away because of the absolute trash fire MM is right now. REALLY hope this gets sorted soon because even on my normal account, getting baby survivors/killers really just destroys any fun the game produces. I enjoy the challenge of going against tough players and obliterating new players is not my idea of a good time.

  • I really wish they would pull their finger out and do something about it. It's terrible when I play as Demo, especially on indoor maps, Lery's and Hawkins being the prime suspects. I love Demo but he growls a little and my PS4 has a seizure and the FPS dips. I love the game and will always play through it, but I'd prefer to have a game that actually runs at a solid 60 FPS. You know, what I paid for.

  • As an Inner Strength user myself, I make the Ghostface stun sigh EVERY time I scream leaving a locker.

  • Midwitch is number 1 for me, but I'm a SH Fanboy and my inner childhood screams with nostalgia over the map. Dead Dawg is my second fave, especially when I play Deathslinger there. I love playing target practice with survivors on the balcony Gen. I always end up losing the match but survivors message afterwards saying they had a fun time so I coinsider my job successful.

My very first game of the new MMR system was me dying on my first hook while everyone else crouched around the edges, scared for their life.

My first match was pretty much the same, but thankfully I had Deliverance so I somehow managed to escape, but they all still did nothing. Ended up doing 3 Gens solo. I don't blame them of course. New players don't understand the game at all, so I hold nothing against them. I even tried to signal them to come help but they just wouldn't move. First match I did as killer I was GF and the whole team just hid in a single corner together. It got so bad I had to message them to ask them to at least do gens. It's just lose/lose right now because if you let the new players win, they go against stronger killers, but make them lose and you're just stomping them so hard into the ground they don't understand how to counter anything.

  • @Pawcelot said:

All my survivor games since the MMR system introduction have been me (green rank) + grey ranks vs a red rank killer who stomps the entire team because I cannot do everything alone. Its not fun.

Same here. Maybe 1/5 matches gives me fantastic teammates, but the other 4/5 are newbies, or players who belong in newb levels just crouching in the most obvious hiding spots, or locker hopping, too afraid to even try save someone. I've had to completely redo my perks just to even have a chance to survive and as you say, there's only so much you can do alone before you're screwed over.

  • I've been getting matched to the exact same, but as Survivor. All new players at around Rank 18-20 while I sit at Rank 2. Every unhook results in the survivor running to a corner and self-caring, or hiding while I'm on hook. The game is now unplayable because of the players themselves, not the bugs for a change. It's annoying and really making me want to quit the game for good. I'm not amazing by any means, but my skill is far more than a new player for sure, and having to die over and over becase of said players, well my MMR, if it even exists at this point, is going to drop because I got matched to players who don't understand the game.

  • 2 identically dressed Survivors, especially Blendettes. Though, they get caught when I play as Adam which is VERY strange and nothing at all related to me running a certain perk... 🤔

  • I've died a couple of times to it, usually because it's the final box to check and I know the time I have left isn't enough. Pig's Traps are the one thing that actually make me sweat like crazy when that timer gets low!

  • @Veen said:

If it can reassure you, it could happen even before the mmr system got introduced, I want to remember to everyone that matchmaking was crap before too.

But thats not the point is it. The whole point of MMR was to FIX the broken MM system and stop this crap from happening. Yet I still get matches of Red rank SWF teams all running flashlights and denying any hooks that apparntly match my MMR level? Yeah, don't reckon so.

Do you even play survivors, or are u that killer that camps and tunnels with noed? I thing i'm pretty good at the game as survivor but u really don't now what ur talking about...

Right. Because this is the typical DbD player. I defended a killer so I MUST be a Main and tunnel and camp and NOED people to death. No, I play both sides, and do not tunnel or camp. And even if I did do these things, that has nothing to do with any of the points I have made. Your response proves it really. You go down the insult someone route, when I'm giving my opinion on what you claim is 'OP'. If you don't like it, don't respond. But don't go insulting people like you just did because you don't like what is said.

  • No, they should not because despite being similar, they all play differently. I'm a great Deathslinger but garbage with Huntress so how would it be fair if I got high skilled players if I play Huntress now. So no, they should not link because each killer has their own strength and weaknesses.

  • @Smax said:

The Killer nows that he is playing PH so he doesn't use the Perks where you need a hook and if you are getting chased good luck crouching through the Torment. I think Survivors are really weak atm and i am not even talking about soloq. I think they should buff Killers early cause he has no chance but nerf his lategame (I have been playing against a lot of Killer that camp three gens from the beginning to get you in a three gen) but buff the survivors overall.

Sorry, couldn't read past the 'Survivors are weak' part. Do you even play the game? Like at all? Because you clearly don't, and if you do, you're clearly a low rank. Or MMR level or whatever we're calling it now. I main PH and I run those perks you need hooks for and I still manage to use my cages perfectly fine. And the survivors I VS are very good at avoiding my trails and avoiding my AoE attack. So, to sum up. PH = Fine. Survivors = Not weak.

I dunno this team has endeared itself to me. I forgive it for busting auras and other shenanigans over the years.

They're miles above Nexon, EA, and Ubisoft and new Blizzard.

Not that it's hard to be above them, but ever since they bought the game back from their publisher they've got Indie-tude with a mix of serious in house gaming crew. When they lose the Indie-tude that's when it's really gonna get poopy.

Gotta agree. Though DbD really does have it's ups and downs, I'd trust their word over companies like EA or Activison/Blizzard these days. Sure, cosmetics are flying out faster than patches, but that's fine for now, as long as they at least ATTEMPT to fix issues. Though I wish they would start doing these fixes more often than every mid-patch and chapter release. At least 1 bug fix patch per week should be standard imo.

  • I think we all wish chases were a little more interactive, but beyond Pallets and vaults, theres not much we can do. And BHVR have spent 4 years doing nothing to add more to chases. I'd love to see more interactivity with killers and maps. For example, Hawkins. We all know the doors either open when a Gen completes, or stay sealed, but what if both survivors and killers could activate buttons within a room to seal a door, and open another in the area. Essentially, you'd create a new pathway for yourself, and slow the other person down. Just simple little interactions like this would spice up chases across all of the maps. And it wouldn't have to be limited to doors. It could be anything.

  • Jesus christ, this crap again? People, you need to accept a KILLER (Look at the name) is going to KILL YOU. Not walk you down the freaking isle at your wedding. Yes, PH's power negates you of your 2nd chance perks, but it also negates his. He can't use PGTW or any perk that requires a hook. There IS counterplay to cages. Stop walking through Torment. Crawl through it. If he slams the knife at a pallet, avoid and move away. Seriously, people need to stop screaming for killers to be freaking nerfed 24/7 just because they don't win every match. Let a killer actually do their job and have power. Survivors have had the power role far too long.

  • As a Solo player, I do it mainly to make sure anyone still alive gets out that might be injured or hooked. However, others will do it just to boost their own egos and make sure you know how badly you lose that match. They also need you to hold their hand out the door or they just get very confused about how to move on to their next match.

  • It's always classes a DC'ing killer as a Exit, but I don't think it used to show the escaped symbol on the results, but either way, you'll always get the 5k Survival points for a DC from the killer

Are we sure this is the right thing? I mean obviously I don't wanna tea bag baby killers and as a killer I don't wanna tunnel but if we go easy won't that keep them in the wrong MMR grouping?

I just wonder what we're meant to do? We stomp them, they end up demoralized and think they're terrible at the game. We let them 'win' and we give them a false sense of acomplishment. This whole MMR system is the real enemy of the game right now.

  • I sense very low quality bait...

  • The cages are that. Cages. Not hooks. Any perk that activates on hook saves will not acitvate, just the same as PH using it, his perks that require a hook will not work.

  • I can say on PS4 for sure, the new MMR is complete garbage. Survivor matches I get baby killers who can barely keep up in a chase or stop a loop. But playing as Killer I get survivors who slam me into the ground so hard. This matchmaking system just won't let anyone have a match at their own level it seems, and new players are feeling it worse than before the change.

I feel like the people defending MMR or saying "wait a week," are the type of people who enjoy bullying newbies and are really really happy with the new MMR it's sad.

It really is. I had a baby Nurse earlier that really tried their hardest. I mean, you could even tell they were getting so frustrated when the other survivors were just t-bagging and running circles around her. I Gave her a free hook and kill because I know how painful that must have been to endure.

MMR is smurfing for us. All I seem to get is baby killers as survivor. The MM system is making the game boring as hell because of it.

The match I was in the survivors had like 300 ping and they played so bad thought we were farming at one point. I even cliped parts that happened because it looked so weird. A meg went for an unhook and was too late the person died so they start self caring when you can tell they wanted to try the unhook. I hit and down her and she flies like 5 ft away.

Got harassed for 30 minutes over this.

Yeah thats some serious server lag there. I had a match like it earlier where a survivor was literally freezing on the spot then teleporting away. They were lagging so badly I had to let them go because they were running into walls and everything. Survivors will always try to blame the killer for anything, even when it's not your fault. It's the mentality of too many players on any game these days.

  • I've been having these issues for weeks and I'm on PS4. I'll see survivors just get random spikes of ping or I do as killer. I've also sat in a survivor lobby and watched in-game the ping beside each name spiking higher and higher. One player at one point hit over 1000 while the rest of us hovered at 600. At this point, I just say whatever to this stuff. It's all a feature of the game now to me it's that damn bad.

  • I really hope this crap goes against killers MMR rating, if it even works at this point. So sick of having a killer facecamp someone, just for the other 2 survivors to feed him more kills, leaving me to either risk myself trying to help, or dying trying to find hatch. It's a joke.

  • I'd prefer they just do what Mobile did and add DC Husks. Sure, it's a bot so you know it's going to be a complete garbage fire, but at least there's still a 'player' doing something instead of being a man down which overall screws everyone else over, especially early game.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 43
