I now want the data if possible to see which of the consoles and pc players have the most toxic reported players lol. It be interesting to see who has the most reported although I assume pc, simply by the whole PC Master Race debate 🥴

You'd be surprised. I've run into many toxic players on PS4 who even put in their PSN profile about how they enjoy, and I quote from one user I saw 'Bullying nubs into the ground so they quit haha'.

oh I'm quite sure people will upvote toxicity without just cause, but I would hope that in general the community aren't total d-bags and it wouldn't impact toxicity rating much, or it would end up lumping everyone into toxic player matches and therefore would have no affect at all

I wish I could beleive that most would be like that, but the forums are a small % of the whole game playerbase, and most on the forums are usually the sort who wouldn't abuse it. But, the non-forum users, well, that's a whole other kettle of fish.

Well, it's only Monday. The Auras aren't as bad as folk think. Ever tried adjusting your screen? Until then, considering the auras are their first priority.

The problem is, PC players can for sure adjust settings for the screen, but what can a console player do? I'm on PS4 and even when I play survivor, trying to see where others are while on hook, or using Kindred is getting stupid hard, especially on big maps. Not to mention that color-blind players have all had to leave the game until it's fixed. So sure, it may be fine for some, but many are finding it difficult, myself included, to see these auras right.

  • I'd personally just be happy with a unique outfit for each character instead of the bloodstained one. If they change prestige, keep the Bloody version for 1-3 but add a unique costume for 4-6. It would be something to work toward and who doesn't love a good cosmetic.

  • So far MM has abused the killers for me. I've had Red rank teammates that have been actually NOT potatoes! The killer however seems REALLY bad. I mean, new player type bads. So the MM has screwed somewhere if these poor players are being matched to people far beyond their skill level.

  • You'd think this was the case, but it seems not. I've never touched Nurse and tried her for a few matches to get the hang of her and it was a complete wreck. I mean, I was garbage for sure, but these survivors knew perfect loops, Gen locations, all totem spots. So if it is using an 'average' of all our other killers to start with, that kind of defeats the purpose of the killer side of the MM

If we are talking briefly about FNAF, I think Foxy would be a better fit. Think about it. No one has an idea on what Springtraps mechanics would be since he would just appear for his jumpscare in the fnaf games, but Foxy always would pounce on you for his jumpscare. So, we could have some sort of pounce attack as Foxy's big attack.

FnaF 1-3 Foxy would be the same as Springtrap. 1 he just ran down a hall and Peek-a-Boo's you at the door. 2 was Mangle and again, Peek-a-Boo's from darkness. 3 was a Ghost. 4 however, that could work. Since he did 'build' himself inside the Closet unless you checked on him, Foxy could be used that way for DbD. Secretly mark a locker to 'build' yourself and if a survivor doesn't check it in time, they become injured if they get close to said locker.

  • Man I thought mine was bad. All Rank 20's when I used my GF, and I use him fairly often. It got so bad, they literally all hid in one corner of the map. Thankfully it was on PS4 so I had to message one of them to say please do a gen. Really hope this isn't the future of MM.

When you mention Thana and nurses calling it got me thinking what if Freddy had the build of thana, nurses calling, sloppy butcher, with the swinging chains add on

AFAIK slow downs stack with each other when using Add-Ons and Perks so it should work. But expect some serious salt for it!

I don't see that it's out on anything but X-Box yet?

There was a news post in-game saying it's now active on PC and Consoles so I assume it SHOULD be active on PS4, Switch and Xbox fully now. If it works that is, which I'm experiencing it's not too well.

  • I like to use Nurses, Discordance, Thana and Dead Man's Switch.

Nurses and Thana since they can 'try' to heal but with it taking a little too long, I'll be saying Hi pretty soon. Discordance, for sneaky sneaks. And Dead Man's Switch so I can see if a survivor who WAS on a Gen, suddenly leaves it and figure out the route they're coming from, and surpise them. Downside to Dead Man's is I need to hook the Obsession, but it usually works well when 2 survivors decide to try save.

From my understanding of what I was told by a friend, the system is supposed to start reading and coordinating your skill after the MM update was released. I don’t think it takes your previous numbers and adds it. Therefore, I don’t understand why you’re getting matched with Red ranks you/super high skilled Survivors if you’ve never played with nurse or don’t have the highest skill with her.

    Its confusing.

I don't understand it myself. I get Nurse is a tough one to learn, so I was of course making so many obvious mistakes, but it was the fact survivors knew exactly where Gens were, the best loops to use, etc. Seemed a little too high skilled if I was supposed to be matched against a lower skilled team if I've never played Nurse. It's just putting me off learning Nurse all over again honestly.

  • Kindred to Stalker

Unlocks potential in ones Aura-Reading abilties.

While you are on hook, you display the Killer's Aura to every other survivor who will ignore it anyway and rush the hook. The Aura can be seen within 8/12/16M of the Hook.

If another Survivor is hooked, you will see the aura of the killer within 8/12/16m of the hook, but secretly, you're just using Kindred at this point to watch the Claudette Self-Care 100M away from the Killer and nobody else is going to save the poor hooked survivor!

  • I'm questioning if it even exists at this point. From my understanding, it was 'tracking' us long before it got activated live, so killers were at some kind of skill already for matching. So, my thinking was, I've never touched Nurse once in my playtime, so why not use this to practice her at last and finally learn her since I've always wanted to, but being placed against Red ranks over and over wasn't a option. So taking that into account, my Nurse should be 0 skill matching newbies. Now, before that's taken from context, I've not used her, so I'm essentially a newb myself with her. But no. 4 matches, all mega coordinated gen slammers, healing within 10 seconds of being hit. So yeah, seems 'Skill based MM' works great so far!

  • Is this a bait thread? I can't tell because if 4 Gens took 8 minutes, what the hell was going on in the match? 1 Gen solo takes 80 seconds so... Confused here.

  • For Survivor it's Cheryl, because Silent Hill 3 was my favourite horror game when I was younger. Killer is a tie between Pyramid Head and Deathslinger. PH because, Silent Hill and when I send someone to a cage I always shout 'To the Gulag!'. Deathslinger I love playing because it's so satisfying when you pull off a shot through obstacles that survivors think they're safe at.

You dont need to have 3 people leave before you do or before you die in one single match, you can do it over multiple matches, that one really isnt that bad, it would have been bad if it was 3 people in one match lol

Ohh your right. I don't know why I thought it said in a single trial. This actually makes me feel better now. Kind of. I guess it's the wording that got me confused tbh. Makes it sound like 3 must leave before you in the match.

  • I cannot stand some of these challenges. You'd think they'd learn from previous tomes but they just keep adding them back. My current bane is wait while 3 escape. Every damn match they ALL stand there T-Bagging at the exit and someone ALWAYS gets hooked because of it.

  • Happened to me yesterday as Deathslinger. Hooked everyone twice at least with 2 deaths, and nothing in Devout. No scores or anything, as if I didn't do anything for that catagory, or all survivors did zero unhooking. It was bizzare.

  • Sounds like a bug I just encountered then on PS4. Was playing GF and after downing a David, I picked him up and my movement started acting like something was blocking me. It was so slow it became unplayable. The survivor told me post-game it looked like I had no walk animation and I just stuttered across the floor. I guess it's just not DbD without something going wrong in a game somewhere.

the fun fact is that it really, really works well even in indoor maps like hawkins/lerry's, maps where usually a hillbilly is almost at a loss.

Oh I can imagine. I only encountered it on Coldwind, which was similar with Corn blocking him and just seeing a chainsaw fly out of it, but I'd love to experience it on a indoor map for sure. I love when killers like Myers or GF just come from nowhere. It makes the game so tense and fun and now Hillbilly has joined the stealth killer club!

  • Luckily I haven't had it... yet but I did get Midwitch back to back as Demo and jesus christ. It was like I had a Windows 98 PC instead of a PS4 because the FPS was so choppy it wasn't even funny.

  • I've only encountered a couple Hillbillies since the change and only one had this add-on, and my god, I could have been mistaken for a schoolgirl that day. I loved it because it scared the living crap out of me when I just suddenly turn and see a chainsaw flying at me from nowhere.

  • Brings a whole new meaning to 'Do bones'. But I haven't noticed it myself, at least not on Cheryl. Maybe it's character specific? I mean, who can tell with the amount of sound bugs atm.

  • I've yet to do this challenge for this sole reason. Everytime I point toward the exit and pray the idiots will just leave, but no. I get hooked and see 3 idiots pointing and clicking flashlights at the killer for the lolz of course. Who at BHVR thought this was a great idea for a challenge? And I really hope to god there isn't another like it further in!

I always think of key escapes as cowardly, and know that they didn't deserve to escape at all. I also bring new Franklin's and a ivory mori on hag, just so I can get rid of that key and nobody else can take it.

Thats how I see a key escape, unless it was literally the final survivor and I closed the hatch, then it's fair game. But when you've mowed down 2 survivors and the final ones are stealthing around until you suddenly see 2 exit symbols appear on them, it's so frustrating to see.

  • Cleanse totems and we stop NOED? Who'd have thought it possible?

Oh wait, reality says Survivors just slam out gens and forget the 5 bone piles... Hmmm. This counter may need some reworking!

  • The big problem is that it's 1 Killer to a 4 survivor lobby. And there are far more survivor players than there are killers, so survivors will get huge wait times compared to killers who can get instant matches since there are so many survivors still waiting for a match. It also doesn't help that many survivors act toxic toward killers, which of course will put many off wanting to even touch killer. Alongside that, bugs galore that help survivors and make killer a nightmare at times.

  • Hag can be amazing in the right hands. She's not a pick up and go killer like others. She requires some setup, and once she has that, you're off. Many survivors forget that you can just crawl over traps and that's Hag's biggest strength. Along with add-ons, she can be insane to go against. She's one of my favourites to VS and it is a real shame you don't see her much anymore.

  • Again? Well, looks like all my survivor lobbies are going to be DC'ing a lot now. Going to be a great day playing this game today 😑

I typically give last survivor hatch if I had completely dominated the match.

When I drop survivors I tend to put them right on top of it (or close enough) and then go walk away to a pallet or something to break....many times however (after realizing they have not tried to escape) I'll find them trying to hide in the grass or spinning in circles.

    I really don't get it.

I do this myself, and it always confuses me when they do it. I guess they just want to give you the death since you earned it but I just want them to leave so I can move on.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Type "ggs" and move on trying to be mature.

This. Replying in anything else is pretty much lowering yourself to their level. Just GG and move on to the next game. I've got zero time for players who want to ######### and moan over every little thing they hate in the game. I'm here for my own enjoyment, not anyone elses.

  • Honestly, if it's good for one side, it's good for the other. Why should Killers be exclusivly locked to matchmaking with no ability to change, but survivors can insta-switch at the last second to bring in a key or meta build?

  • Thankfully I haven't crashed yet myself, but I can barely play more than a couple matches before I need a break from this game lately.

It's not a bug, the auras are hardly visible. They ARE there however.

    4 Gens in first pic

    Exit gate in second pic

This just shows how bad the auras currently are. I could just about make out 3 Gens, and only just see the exit aura if you really look close. I'd love to meet the people who passed this out the door as working!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1500672#Comment_1500672

Yeah unfortunately there is nothing we can do about that. Still if we lose from that i.e. not doing 2/3 gens in the meantime (as a team) then its mostly on us and not the killer's tactic (even though its cheap).

It's the one big downside to Solo queues. I've had many matches where the killer is obviously camping and even with Kindred active all 3 will try come over to unhook. So many times I wish they could hear me screaming at the TV to go do Gens while I keep him there for 2 minutes. It usually ends in the same way everytime. 1-2 downed, I'm unhooked, redowned and the final survivor is downed shortly after.

  • I've had killers do this to me before. If they do it, I just start to crawl the oppisite way from the hatch to prove a point. I could care less if they kill me or let me have a free escape, but there's no need to be toxic about it really.

  • Oof. Someones not skipping leg say in the Entity realm! More reason to let those David's go! 😂

  • What I find funny is that in the Survivor Tutorial, where you play as Dwight VS Trapper, after the Trapper Bot hooks you, and you attempt to escape, you can go into Struggle before the Meg Bot gets you. The Struggle meter doesn't insta-kill you at all. Now, sure, it's a tutorial so dying there would mess it up, but it does show that they can just remove it easily if it's already in the game.

  • Kindred is 100% a must in my loadout. It's saved me so many times, and my teammates. It let's me see the killer and if they're still roaming around, or if they just poofed from existence, leading to Insidious, and lets me see teammates, usually sitting in a corner Self-Caring away, but still I can see when someone else might be going for a save, or if they're suddenly running around like a lunatic, the killer's chasing them. It's stupid useful!

  • I'm not color-blind myself, but even then, I've had matches where it's been tough to make out auras correctly when they're at long distances. Really hope this gets fixed, more so for people who can't see the auras at all. I can imagine it's a living hell!

  • Just no. 100% nope. When DC penalties were removed recently, and I played matches, people DC'd left and right, and it messed with me earning emblems and points. I deranked so much just because 2 people wanted to peace out and I couldn't earn enough emblem score. So no, DC Penalties are fine. Survivors need to stop being so entitled just because they don't like X reason here. You don't like the match? Feel free to use that amazing escape button for a hook death. But even doing that, you screw over the remaining 3 survivors, who then end up dying just because you left.

  • I mean, camp away. If it's in the game, it's for you to use. And since Gens are close by, then bonus. You can guard all of them. Don't let survivors make you feel like you're playing wrong. They want you to play THEIR way, and let's face it. That's usually you standing in a corner until you're given permission to MAYBE come and hit someone once. Of course, if Killers were to ever point out survivors acting like this, we're usually the ones in the wrong.

After spending times on this forum and seeing what people say, I've come to a conclusion. This game will never be balanced. It can't. The skill of the players will forever hurt a change.

The Devs will try to give a change to help new people, but the older players will complain. They could do the opposite change and help older and experienced players, but then newer survivors would be hurt. And it goes the same for killer.

Some of the changes I've seen on this forum could be cool ideas, but they hurt a group of people to much. Let me give you a suggestion.

Someone once said to remove hatch. This would hurt solo q survivors. A lot of the time it's relyed upon because you can't depend on tour teammates to be the best. Sometimes you win the lottery and they do gens. But other times, they throw themselves at the hook and die.

One change I think could help all killers, is to implement an early game mechanic. Something like EGC.

One change for survivors could be to encourage working with another survivor. A lot of times survivors won't help one another, unless they have certain perks.

Also I'm gonna say this. If you're going to state and opinion don't be an a** about it. I don't wanna see someone respond to someone with "git gud"

Pretty sure, but not 100%, but I heard there may be a early game EGC coming to help with the killers who need setups, like Demo, Trapper, Hag, etc. Hopefully this does happen because by the time you finish setting traps or portals as Demo, you can guarantee 2-3 Gens are just done. If I ever play matches as those killers, I'm just turned into a basic attacker because I don't have enough time to trap up, and once I have, those areas usually become useless since gens aren't near them. But you are right about the balance. It feels like they cater more toward new players, evident from Ruins rework, but forget that not everyone is new. Not saying it's a bad thing of course, but they need to also consider that older players suffer from some of the changes more than a newer player would.

  • I've had a few matches where my FPS just tanked on PS4. Literally from nowhere. One was just against a Deathslinger on Coal Tower so it shouldn't have been so bad. Luckily I've not been sent to indoor maps where the true horror lies, but my luck only lasts for so long.

  • Detectives Hunch is a lifesaver for me when I run Inner Strength. Tenacity has saved me from greedy killers many times, except the one time I just managed to reach the exit gate and ALMOST crawled out but died to EGC. Stake Out is pretty meh. Stay in the killer TR for X seconds for an auto great skill check. I'll pass on that one for sure.

  • I personally love the Wraith skins on the Rift. Wraith has always been a personal favourite of mine, but I rarely use him with MM being so busted, but I might just pull him out of hibernation for this skin. Doc's is a little meh for me. I like the idea of where it was going, but it just doesn't stand out for me. Hag's is a little hit and miss for me. I very rarely use Hag these days so I don't care much for cosmetics for her.

The big deal is that I don t feel satisfied sweating and giving my best so that they escape just because the game balance is 0 and it s also rigged for survivors being a must for one of them to survive.

No, I refuse that, I really do not care about my rank or penalty. I will do this as long as the game remains the way it is now, rigged.

So, why play the game? You know how survivors act these days and nothing is going to change in a major way anytime soon, unless MMR comes in. Maybe take a break for a while. Playing matches that frustrate you over and over isn't good and it will just lead to you hating the game more. Trust me, I did this for the past few weeks. I've only just returned to the game today, and it's still the same sweatfest it always is, but I just take the losses as they come and just try enjoy myself. I'm not here to win, I just want everyone to have a good match.

  • I mean, if survivors are going to escape, they escape. What's the big deal? You get points regardless. I mean, enjoy the DC penalty I guess if you plan to do this long term.

  • I tried a match for my Hag earlier for the Phantasm challenge, and good god it was like a nightmare. It was bad enough it was Coldwind as Hag, but because the auras are now like X-Rays, I mistakenly took a downed survivor toward a Gen instead of a hook because half the aura was missing. Honestly, I get they just wanted to make it look better, but these auras are awful at times!
