I really hope this is the last chapter they do for a while now. They really need to focus on improving everything on this game. I get they need some way of continuing to make money, but the reality is the game is dieing sadly...on xbox it is anyways. The dedicated servers were a massive fail and have already been taken down despite them taking 2 months since PS4 & Nintendo Switch got them.

There is far too many issues for them to continue to focus on making more content. Let the game breathe for a while, get the balancing correct on each map with reworks etc...fix all these horrible lobby errors...i'm interested to see the new matchmaking they have planned too. Make being rank 1 actually worth something because once i'm at rank 1 i just play for Bloodpoints and I get no reward come the 13th every month except jumping back to rank 11 and then it's just a wothless grind to rank 1 with getting a mixture of noobs and sweaty players depending on the situation.

They have an amazing game 'idea' here, i think it's being poorly executed, am i the only one who finds doing gens so skill-less and disatisfying? I would love a new objective or something just to spice the game up a bit, maybe take a page out of Friday the 13th's book and make other ways to escape. Don't have to over complicate it but there's better ways to make the game fun rather than doing generators.

I also think that there could be another possible objective for the killer. So they dont have to heavily rely on getting kills to satisfy the entity. I'm not great with coming up with ideas like that but i'm sure someone could have a good input.

I'm also tired of feeling like I have to force myself to run 'meta' perks like DS, BT & Whatnot because I like to play around with different perk builds, totem cleansing etc...but it's hard when you have to rely on your random tms to make a smart play to unhook you or a killer not going to tunnel you.

Get use to dedicated servers, when they come back there is no telling when they'll turn them off again. I play on PC as well and I joined when they were testing out the servers. There will be a day where they turn them on permanently and make adjustments to them with every update.

Honestly that's why I stopped playing in general. When they nerfed Nurse that was a sign to me that the game was going to go downhill. I switched back to playing survivor and I ended just not playing because survivor doesn't require any skill and I wanted to prevent myself from burning out playing killer. I haven't played since the Ruin changes and the fact that they are releasing new content simply tells me that BHVR doesn't give a ######### about the games health or balance.

The other day I was in a party with my Xbox friends. They said that wait times are increasing for survivors, I hate to say this and it's just as I predicted, if the killer community dies, the survivor community will be all thats left to keep the game alive

  • Surge is practically PGTW and Infectious Fright put together and neither of those perks have cooldowns.

Thrilling Tremors cooldown makes since, but imo the cooldown last too long

I dont think adding a vault animation is an overnerf, spirit is still unloopable

Because she's not designed to be looped. Just keep moving. It takes being the monster to understand the monster.

I use to say the same thing about Nurse until I learned and mastered her, which I than learned her main weakness. Mind games!

Nurse didnt die, she just got extremely boring to play as

Spirit was far from an overnerf, it was barely a nerf

I didnt get to play Oni on PC so I cant really say anything about the flick, but he was pretty OK on console.

Nurse got overnerfed for learning nurse players. I can hit my blinks, so i'm only affected by the various bugs.

Spirits addons got a MASSIVE nerf. That was good. Her basekit nerfs were not needed. (no collision and window vaulting animation)

Oni on PC was horrible. It was a ~40° flick before the buff.

Nurse was overnerfed for the satisfaction of survivors, so they could get breathing room. Even the communities most popular Nurse main said that she's boring and unfun to play because of the blink cooldowns.

Spirit was overnerfed as well. Her collision needed to go but her vault animation didn't because giving her a vault animation defeated part of the purpose of her power. PT. 2 of her overnerf is that the survivor biased devs waited so long to fix her sounds and when they finally fixed it, they think we wouldn't have noticed the shadow nerf to her phasing sound while in TR.

Keep in mind that survivors still want these killers nerfed because they can't mindlessly loop these killers

Personally, I think killers who dodge EVERY SWF are just bad at the game.

Yes there are death squads and bullies in the SWF pool, but not all of them are like that. So if you dodge SWFs, you're kiiinda admitting your own skill suck because you're saying you're not confident in your skills to take on a group of players that may be optimal and may be not.

One of the reasons I'm against giving the killer an indication of SWF is because a lot of killers tend to think they're not good enough or that they have a stigma they are completely unfair.

And that would just kill matchmaking time for everyone. The killer, solo Qs, casual SWFs. It'll just be horrible as killers who dodge would only want to face players they think are fair to their mind.

The same could be said about swf. Since I've switched to PC I've noticed something about survivors. On console most red rank survivors can only reach red ranks as a swf but can't carry their own weight solo, and on PC most red rank survivors seem better solo.

Back when I was on console I would dodge swf because I didn't agree with the advantage swfs have. A lot of survivors claim that they just 'wanna play with friends' or 'wanna talk while playing' but they don't realize that while they are doing what they claim they are doing, they are giving themselves a advantage by passing information. It's why I disagree with OoO within a swf

  • Before dedicated servers I believe. Swf would spawn in the lobby at the same time. But they changed for survivors sake because

    1. Killers would lobby dodge.

And I don't blame killers for not wanting to deal with swf

    2. Killers were brining mori's to deal with it

This led up to the events of survivors quitting out of the game to cancel the match so they didn't have to deal with mori's

  • Use to be like that. But survivors complained about it because of lobby dodging

  • Use your ears. When survivors couch down, they force louder mouth breathing

  • Survivor

Kindred: Survivors are suppose to work together

Self-Care: The speed of Self-Care should just make it basekit for survivors

    Killer

Shadowborn: I'm addicted to this perk, without it I suffer great eye strain

Beast of Prey: Because of the strength of looping, and the fact that godloops still exist, this will give killers a chance

“You survivors.” Nice assumption, friend. I’m rank 1 on both sides.

"You survivor(s)" I'm targeting multiple people, but sure. If the boot fits, feel free to wear it.

  • BBQ has a counter, but since you survivors like to tell us to pressure gens, BBQ's arua reading helps us do that, it's just only 3 killers are capable of getting to highlighted survivors within a certain amount of time.

  • @FKreuger1 said:

Firstly I'd like to say I play both survivor and killer 50/50 so I'm talking from both sides.

My reasoning behind saying killers probably should lose their red stain is I personally think the game is more fun when there are jump scares, which only really happens with stealth killers. My favourite moments from playing as a survivor are when you look around and see the killer such as ghostface or tier 1 Myers too close for comfort with no warning.

I also think this would help the game out with a lot of the complaints about games being too short, a lot of survivors wouldn't risk staying injured to do gens if they knew the killer was nearby but had no big indicator of where.

Legion would act as he was meant to in his chapter trailer as it's really only his red stain that is the big indicator who he is compared to other survivors.

I'd love to hear what a lot of survivor mains who are experiencing shorter games would like to say about this as a lot of the discussions on here talk about nerfing survivors left, right and centre but this is more just a killer buff that would make the meta change with jungle gyms and other parts of the map.

Due to the lack of viable killers that can't depend on their power in chases, and the strength of looping. I'd say yes. Red stain gives too much information, to survivors which is why looping is too strong.

Or the devs could make Beast of Prey (Huntress perk that removes the red stain when killers BL) base kit for all killers

  • You survivors are ######### spoiled man. That's the purpose of Spirit. She's a complete guessing game. Why do you think she didn't have a vaulting animation? To leave you guessing if she vaulted or phasing.

You don't wanna run Iron Will just to counter her? Killers didn't want to run old ruin just to slow down gens. She doesn't require much skill? Same thing could be said about survivor in general.

Sorry to clap back, it's just I enjoy going against strong/OP killers, mainly because I get a thrill out being outplayed/outplaying a strong killer

  • @KillerKiller said:

Killer is easy and the devs coddle the killers.

    They never listen to survivors.

I think the devs make up all these posts of whiny killers complaining that it's hard because they want to keep the game easy for killers and with only survivors complaining they couldn't .

    justify it. Lol

    Im with you man

Every time I come the forums I sit here thinking

    WHAT GAME ARE YOU PLAYING?!!?

Dbd is totally killer biased, the killer has a profound advantage. It's easy as hell

So much so that when I've hooked someone twice and down them, I let them go be healed and don't kill them unless I down them again.

    Which I do

    I never camp, never tunnel.

I don't hook anyone twice till everyone's hooked once. I don't kill till everyone's hooked twice.

I don't hook the same player twice in a row

I make sure everyone makes good BP.

I make the game as fun as I can for everyone but the killers are faster. They can't escape us.

It's not hard at all. It was at first but after a week, I figured it out and boom.

I have no idea why killers complain

"Killer is easy and the devs coddle the killers"

Are you sure about that? All the killer nerf patch notes literally state something about catering to survivors

Legion: Frustrating for survivors to deal with

Nurse: Giving her blinks a cooldown to give survivors breathing space

Forever Freddy: Nerfed slowdown add-ons so survivors can have a chance to escape

Spirit: Vault animation, and add-on nerf because she was very frustrating to deal with

Doctor: Snap out of it takes you back to T1 madness and a cooldown after shock therapy to give survivors a chance

Ruin: A legit nerf because survivors can't hit skill checks

Seems like you need to play a non viable killer vs optimal swf on Mother's Dwelling

  • No!

Survivors already have and run too many crutch perks, and it would make some killers break the game

  • Welcome to DBD where 6 month old killer bugs is known but the devs don't do ######### about, because it doesn't affect survivors in a negative way. If you notice anymore killer bugs please feel free to keep them to yourself since BHVR doesn't give a ######### about killers.

  • I strongly agree! DH is being used for distance and not what's intended for. BHVR usually does something about perks not being used as intended, but it's a survivor perk so nothing is going to happen about it

  • Are you aware of the fact that Canniable is based off of a real killer? Granted he is from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but those movies are based of a real murderer named Ed Gein aka Leatherface

  • @ABannedCat said:

Imagine complaining about a loopable killer.

Survivors wanna mindlessly run in circles with every killer, hence why they got Nurse and Spirit nerfed, and when a killer fits the NASCAR meta, survivors STILL complain about them. I just don't get it ...

When are survivor's never complaining about strong killer's. Hell to this day survivor's still complain about nerfed Nurse and Spirit

  • For me it is literally Nurse's nerf

From a killer perspective, she becoming more boring to play simply because have to wait for her main source of movement and chase potential to come back has made her unfun and boring to play.

From a survivor perspective, she's no longer a threat to me and she's easily countered because her potential. Hell I even faced off with a Godlike Nurse and got bored simply because I could out run her blinks

  • Spirit is fine, her nerf really didn't hurt her besides her Shadow nerf which isn't a big deal.

I'm situational about Legion, I don't play them as much unless I'm at the low ranks.

As a former Nurse main I can agree, her nerf made her much harder to play which I don't mind, but it made her very irritating to play. I won't use her unless I run double cooldown add-ons on her.

  • That's how I feel about it, I feel like it's a bandaid fix for how powerful looping is instead of fixing the problem

  • I just wanna see how survivor mains are gonna react

  • Only reason why I think DH should get nerfed is simply because it's not being used as intended. It being used to prolong loops and not avoid taking a hit

  • Your best bet is to bait it out. But if your facing optimal survivors than there's nothing you can do since they'll only use it to get to the next loop

  • I simply stopped playing killer because it is too stressful, and no longer fun. I shouldn't go to click on killer and my palms and face sweaty simply because the only way for a killer to have fun is to play in a way that pisses survivor's off. I think it's time to accept the fact that all the high rank and veteran killer's only play survivor or have left the game

  • @dbizzle said:

DCs are a part of any online game . we havent had them since 2016 we dont need them now. its just silly. if you want to DC you paid for the game do what you like. if you want out of that match and want to go to a new one that is your right. you should not be penalized.

There's something called terms and conditions which you agreed to. So you gotta deal with it 🤷‍♂️

All these people here complaining about DCing and slugging. Sorry but it's part of the game. Don't like being slugged? Unbreakable or no mither. Don't wanna be punished because you can't DC? Get ######### good. The only reason why I'm for the DC penalties is simply because it'll teach killers that it's ok to lose and get better, and it puts survivors entitlement in check and forces y'all to get good against the killer.

  • Hate to say it but anything that inconveniences survivors will eventually get nerfed. At this point the devs might as well nerf killer's to the point of where they no longer exist

  • Arde did make some bad choices but the problem lies within the fact that gen speed is too fast especially for butchered Nurse with Add-ons that make her feel like her former self

  • The only time I condone DCing is if you have a a emergency outside of the game. If my step daughter tells me she's hungry, my job needs me to come in, that is the only time I am ok with DCing

  • Killer main always because I've had more fun playing killer simply because I get a thrill from being out played which in return makes me better, not only that killer is the only skilled thing about this game.

No longer play the game because.., it's not fun anymore. Killer is too stressful and the devs only listen to survivors and I don't appreciate being part of a community were only half of it is seen and heard, and the other half is seen but not heard. I do play survivor but survivor is boring af to me and very easy

  • A lot of survivor refuse to play killer because and I quote what excuses I've heard verbatIm

"Killer is too easy" (these survivors are mostly brown rank killers)

"I wanna play with my friends"

"I don't wanna get a taste of my own medicine"

This one is the biggest cop

  • @28_stabs said:

The worst feeling is when survivors 1v1 killer all game. Killer can drop chases, but all survivors can run to the same loop. They will point at killer, clickyclick, tbag and killer can do nothing about it, because killer can be harmless in this game. It can ruin any mood playing killer role.

My biggest gripe about killer. I'm not saying survivors shouldn't have a way to defend themselves, but how strong looping is

  • Reason why I quit playing killer

    1. I don't wanna constantly play Nurse, Spirit, or Billy just to have a chance of having fun or even remotely winning.

    2. With the ruin nerf matches go by too quick

    3. I don't wanna play a game where I'm more stressed out than having fun

    4. I don't wanna play a game as to weather making the right play still means losing

  • The only reason why I am happy about DC punishments is because it will punish swf that use hatch tech

  • 1. Spine Chill

Stealth killers shouldn't be detected by any perk when in stealth mode, and people who rely on Spine Chill rely heavily on TR when they don't have it

    2. Swf

Too much info is being passed through their comms

  • If your that bored to find this info, than you either don't give a ######### about this game anymore, or curiosity killed the cat

  • I like how a bunch of y'all are saying bait DH, yet it's being used to prolong a chase if survivors are abusing it instead of using it as seen in the discription

  • 3 things

    1. I don't blame you for not maining killer anymore, it's too stressful which is why I quit. Yeah sure I could play survivor but I get bored very easily playing survivor due to the lack of skill involved with survivor.

    2. I would just shorten the timer for DS. We slug DS because it's the only counter to it. While I I agree with your statement, I believe the timer shouldn't be paused because the killer is trying to counter the perk.

    3. I am situational about DH. Because of how strong looping is and the fact survivors aren't using DH as it's intended, something needs to be done about DH because it's literally being used to prolong chases and not to avoid taking a hit.

  • Mine is shroud of separation. When the killers offering doesn't flip over, survivors will DC to cancel the match and when they see it was a shroud, they lose there #########

  • The current state the game is in swf are way too strong. But I always own up to my mistakes though

  • only second chance perk I have a problem with is DH simply because of the strength of looping and the fact that DH is literally being used to prolong loops and not avoid taking a hit

  • The only changes I would make to DS is to simply shorten the timer and prevent interruptions from triggering it.

The perk being up for 60s is invulnerability for survivor's. I do tend to slug people that just got off the hook, but as a nurse main, I can down and hook 2 other survivor's and still get punished for being a good killer. As for the not triggering during a interruption, I say that because a lot of survivor's tend to hop in lockers just to force DS and than DC because the killer continued chasing them after getting downed again, I would rather the survivor's use the perk as intended instead of abusing it just to use it, plus survivor's will also use DS as a get out of jail free card

  • @OperationMintyHippo said:

I'm trying to hold out hope for still playing this game, but it feels like the game is forcing me out.

I try to play as killer (purple rank), but the time it takes me to cross a map where the survivors spawn, they've already got one gen nearly completed. And if I guess incorrectly they will finish it before I get there because literally everyone spawned on a gen. So that's one gen lost. I chase one person, lose another gen because it is completely across the map and I cannot apply any pressure to it and if I do then I risk losing a gen where I currently am to the same situation. Hook that guy, lose another gen to prove thyself and toolboxes. So that is 3 gens for one hook. Maps are too big to apply pressure paired with how fast gens go. I ended up just DCing because I didn't have any perks to recover, and based on other details of the match I knew there was no way I would get 11 more hooks within 2 gens. The survivors were all red rank and all had at least the minimum amount of clue about the map setups and could easily soft loop pallets and windows. Plenty of pallets to use still for 2 gens left.

Maybe I was just having an off day, switched to survivor (red rank), and once again, sit on gens, loop easy pallets while your team got gens done under 2 minutes. I don't feel rewarded when I do well as a survivor because there's no effort required to play. My chase wasn't even that long. But I never got hit, they switched off, but then I just went back to sitting on gens. They ended up DCing.

    I. Don't. Blame. Them.

Can't play this game anymore. Survivor is too easy and killer is too stressful. :( I love this game but I don't like what's happening to it.

For starters, I play both sides but I'm a killer main because killer feels like the only skill based thing about this game.

As much as I would love to believe that this game can be saved, I feel that it may be too late to save it. While I agree with the fact that survivor is too easy and killer is too stressful, the game is heading down the the same path as Deathgarden.

If anything is going to destroy the game it is the lack of killers. Right now the current killer's that are playing are killer's who still have faith that the game is good or will get better, or survivor's who are finally playing killer to get an understanding of our frustrations. If this keeps up queue times will be the next killer simply because killer's are tired of dealing with the stress that killer causes and the unfairness of the devs nerfing viable killers and perks. I have quit playing dbd for the time being, but the fact that i'm here on the forums shows that I still have hope that the game can get better.

  • Nurse because of the challenge she gave me, after her rework I dropped her simply because she became too annoying to play with her individual cooldowns.

Spirit because she was also a challenge for because she requires listening instead of your eye's. After I got use to her power survivor's became very predictable and so I dropped her.

James because I like sneaking up on people, I dropped him after the ruin changes becuase killer became too stressful to play

  • Imo there really is no point in trying to win anymore. If I play killer the goal is to get my BBQ stacks, if I play survivor than I'm trying to do a ritual

  • 1. Survivors who literally do nothing but follow is around just to get saves

    2. I shouldn't face a wall and still get blinded out of the corner of my screen

    3. I shouldnt get blinded when I look up

    4. If I bring Franklin's Demise I'm the bad guy

Exactly, infinites loops and second chance perks are problematic for certain killers that are easily loopable. I dont know how balanced are expectations from killers and survivors. Survivor can repair gens insanely fast while killers has to chase and hook every survivor 3x. Survivors can in ideal case finish game in 5 mins, killer cannot chase and hook 12x in 5 mins - its impossible. Then killers prefer camp and tunnel to eliminate at least 1 survivor fast and this leads to verbal abusing and crying of survivors. Just repair speed of gens and game will be fine.

I play both sides but main killer. When I play survivor in most post game chat I've been defending killers

  • The only reason why I consider the game survivor sided is simply because gens go by too fast compared to the number of hooks and chases killers have to go through. Imo hooking is fine, but chasing is a bigger problem simply because looping is too strong and survivor meta gives them too many second chances and invulnerability.
