Please stfu! Spirit is already having audio problems that i'm sure the devs are fine with and not concerned about fixing any time soon
-
I would simply make it to where the perk becomes active if the survivor is rescued when the killer is x meter's away from the hook. As a Nurse main, I can literally hook 2 other survivor's within 1 minutes and still get punished by DS for doing what a killer is suppose to do. Even if the killer doesn't tunnel survivor's will go out of there way to burn the perk just to get a free unhook etc.

can you plz discuss instead of just not accepting my opinion and just saying I'm #########. I do not want things to be nerfed, you could buff Spirit if you just put an way to know if she's phasing, I don't care too much for her being strong, just boring too play against. plz don't be a man child
I already told you, you have to out run Spirit, if she can't catch up to you while Phasing because she's going the wrong way she'll have to drop the chase. Spirit has to predict where you are/going when she phases. If she predict's correctly than she's going to use the rest of her power to catch up to you. If she doesn't predict correctly she's forced to come out of phasing to see where she screwed up at and see if she can track you again. Like @ClickyClicky said

The best way to counter Spirit is to play her.
When you get a stand off with her, you're guessing what she wants to do next, and what she thinks you're going to do next.
Most Spirits aren't that great and it becomes very easy to extend a chase against her for 3 gens. The uber Spirits that everyone worries about are very very rare. Like everyone says about survivor de-pip squads I guess.
Spirit is like Nurse, it's not about looping it's about guessing your opponents next move and conditioning them to predict yours. I wouldn't want to face Spirit or Nurse every game and spirit was overused but I find these two killers a nice change of pace as it's a much more cerebral battle.
Your better off playing her to understand her better. When I switched to PC and got to the purple ranks I hated dealing with Nurse and I would always complain about her because my console usage of her wasn't enough knowledge to face her on PC. So I picked her up on PC and just by using her I learned her weaknesses and used it against other Nurses. Sometimes it takes being one to understand one!
-
That's why I don't like playing survivor. It's too damn easy and not stressful enough like it should be. You aske me, the roles should be switched, survivor's should be the ones stressing out and not killers

That is just luck, Spirit counterplay. What I want is just to know when she is using it. And ruin is not even good, and it was buffed
Blah Blah Blah ruin this ruin that! That's nerfing her, if they do that, might as well delete her because if she gives some kind of indicator that she phasing, it defeats the purpose of her power.
-
Had 3 devotions as survivor, I switched because survivor is boring as hell. Even when I was swf I got bored real easy because survivor took no skill.

Literally 72% of killers suffer from bad map and kit design to the point they aren't even worth taking past rank 12.
@BenZ0 go into a match vs red rank survivor's with no ruin using a killer that isn't Nurse. Billy, Spirit, or Oni. After you do that comeback and tell us what it was like trying to apply pressure with a non agile killer

Do I ever sayed something about bullying killers? This is not an surv sided post bud
Your right, dying isn't counterplay, but neither is complaining about her just to get her nerfed again isn't either. You have to keep moving to counter her and if she can't catch after phasing she'll just drop the chase.
And with these ruin changes the game will become a bully simulator for survivor's sense killers 90% of the killer's lack map pressure
-
On console I haven't noticed any sound problems. On PC there are huge sound problems from the killer perspective, from a survivor perspective Spirit is the only killer I noticed with a problem. I crouched up to her to eat her ass and I heard her phasing sounds.
-
Imo Nurse mainly because most of them literally tell her back stroy
-
Mostly upset. It took away the only skilled thing about survivor while making killer games more stresssful. I'd rather hang around the green and purple ranks as killer, and not play survivor since there is no longer anything challenging in my eyes

I would like to open the discussion up if slugging is an acceptable strategy for killers to use, I just got Bubba the last killer I needed, I avoided getting him since he seems so challenging to consistently win with, also I get the feeling like Oni kind of that as a killer it seems more appropriate to slug baiting survivors out. It’s more to handle I think but I’d like killer opinions and strats
There's nothing wrong with slugging, you'll generate a ######### ton of pressure since someone isn't doing anything. Your gonna get a lot of salt though because survivors don't like getting forced not to play.

Again, I don't think that's really the case when it comes to killer feedback or balance. My primary reason for the Ruin nerf is best described by @Peanits :
"We are not. We have mentioned multiple times that if something needs to change about gen times, we're happy to take a look into it. Unfortunately we cannot do that when 80% of red ranked killers are using a perk that covers it up- it makes it impossible to tell what actually needs to be done. We'll keep an eye on it."
This supports my theory that the reason that the Devs have been ignoring killers feedback in the Latest patch has been because they don't have the hard data to support their claims regarding Gen speeds. As for the recent Killer nerfs, Nurse was OP with broken add-ons, and i feel no one can debate that. The addition of a cooldown on her blinks may have been a bit rash, but in all honesty, i have yet to see a post from a Nurse main who say that it completely breaks her. As for Spirit's nerfs... TBH, I haven't seen ANYTHING calling them unfair or destroying her tier level, so, either no one is playing her anymore, or the "nerfs" haven't changed much for her.
Still, the Devs ignoring complaints about Sound issues really irks me since this happens "Every Time" they update the engine. The Demogorgon update had its sound issues corrected very fast, which made me believe that the devs knew it had to be done, and had learned from past mistakes, but with this mid chapter update coming out next week... without even a mention of corrections to the sound issues... That breaks my heart, and ruins my confidence in the idea that they have learned from their past mistakes!
It's not just killers that are getting screwed by it, survivors do to, but when killers get "Loading Screens" saying stuff like "If you lose sight of a survivor, Listen! Survivors make many sounds that can help you locate them" but the game doesn't actually provide any of these alleged "sounds" within an audible range... there's something wrong with the sound design.
Y'know, alot of New Players try to play killer too, and if the sound design is this bad for them, why would they even bother trying?
Not trying to stir the ######### pot with you, but idgaf about what the devs have to say about killer's at this point. I will let their actions speak, which will determine if I will continue playing or not.
Old Nurse was not OP imo simply because I was a Nurse main and I understood how she had to think in order to counter, I use to think she was OP but after learning her I learned her weaknesses.
The other day I faced a streamer while I was using Spirit. After he went offline I went back to go watch the footage to see where I needed to improve my gameplay. The whole time that streamers SWF was complaining that they hated facing Spirit because they couldn't tell if she was phasing or not (which survivor's are going to have to get use to because that's the way she was designed to be played), but yet the streamer was injured not running Iron Will, sticking his whole face in Spirit's ass and could hear her phasing. That's probably why your aren't hearing anything about Spirit because of sound bugs and survivor's just giving up and not playing because they don't wanna deal with her or use their ears with these sound bugs

No, I don't think that's really the case. Hear me out before jumping to a reply:
First of all, and probably the most obvious,
This game can't exist if no one wants to play the Killer role! Naturally there has been a major amount of adjustments made in trying to balance this regarding survivors: DS change, BT nerf, BL nerf, Major Healing nerf, SC nerf, BNP nerf, Insta Heals nerf, etc... So they know the killers are actual players and have been working to balance the game to acknowledge that fact and "try" to make the game more fair. This means that the devs are actually working towards Balance so that both Killers and Survivors can enjoy the game.
2nd,
The problem with the recent Ruin nerf is that they either didn't acknowledge why it was so popular, or because they needed to remove it as a factor in figuring out how powerful survivors truly are in the game. Based on their responses, I'd have to go with the latter, and honestly feel that after a month of seeing the data (maybe less) that the Ruin nerf presents them, they'll be able to come up with a more grounded solution to the core game-play mechanics without 1 perk obscuring the numbers. True, the recent update definitely was worded to be primarily survivor sided, but the last 4 updates presented nerf after nerf to the survivors, and very light nerfs to the killers (The Nurse's nerf is still waiting on a final judgement TBH).
The only reason any company would flat out side with 1 side of the players of their game over the other is if they purposely wanted the game to fail so they could move onto another project. With Death Garden out of the picture because they will no longer be developing for it or updating it (as of last December), that leaves them with only Dead by Daylight... Their "Golden Goose" if you will. It would be absolutely moronic for a game company to kill their "Golden Goose" without a backup plan by destroying the one thing that makes the game work: The Killers.
While I agree with you that the sudden and unexpected Ruin change is bad, because the devs are ignoring the reason why the majority of killers felt that they "Had To" use it in order to compete... I honestly have come to believe that the change was made so they could understand it themselves based on new data that they couldn't collect as long as old Ruin was obscuring the match results. So yeah, its gonna be a rough 6 weeks after the mid chapter patch (hopefully less), but overall I feel that in the end this will work towards balancing the games core mechanics once the devs have gained enough hard evidence that its heavily imbalanced towards the survivors when it comes to objective completion speed.
I'm going to agree with @newavitar these past few patches they have been shooting killer with the nerf gun and not caring enough about feedback from killer's. As of the sound bugs it's been known for 3 months, but the devs haven't done anything about it, which at this point makes it seem like a shadow nerf and that they are ok with it. I don't wanna call the devs survivor bias but they are making themselves look survivor bias
-
That's pretty much what it means to be a killer buddy. Killer requires a lot of skill, and quick thinking. But sadly, we get frowned upon for doing what we are suppose to do by survivors, and the devs punish us by making killer more frustrating and stressful to play as. Right now the devs don't care about killer's. They are too focused on holding survivors hands and making the game easier for them and treating us like we are bots. Keep practicing buddy, you'll eventually get there buddy, just take a breather from killer every once in awhile

James is a stealth killer... Oops! Ghostface is a stealth killer, you have to constantly be on the look out for him. I don't like using Spine Chill because it takes the element of surprise from him (plus I love being jumpscared) but you also gotta use your ears. Now when it comes too looping and he cloaks, it's best to leave that loop so you can get LOS on him again

While I believe the Ruin nerf to be harsh, after seeing the reasoning for its removal without a remedy to gen speeds, I’m more at peace with it. They need to get solid numbers and statistics about game speeds before making any changes and Ruin made that incredibly difficult by scewing match times by making them really long, or unaffected by Ruin and short.
The devs have made so many killer buffs and survivor nerfs over the past year or so yet as soon as killers take a blow, the devs are apparently survivor biased. Flashlight nerfs, pick up and hook time buffs, DS, Self Care, Borrowed Time, Sprint Burst nerfs, Pallet Vacuum removal, Vaulting nerfs, the list goes on.
Tell me, why the hell would they be survivor biased? In a game that requires BOTH sides to succeed. Do the majority of people here not see what they are trying to do? I will admit at first I was a part of the “tHe DeVS dOnT CArE abOUt KillErS” circle jerk but now it’s getting out of hand.
Maybe if people actually listened to what they are saying and don’t let it fall out the other ear because of blind rage, you might actually see what they’re trying to do.
Let me ask you some questions?
What changes about a survivor's gameplay or mechnics when you nerf them?
What perk(s) do survivors have that is a core perk?

I'm not going to face it because it's not true in my opinion. Healing nerf, pallet density nerf, pallet vacuum being removed, DS and Mettle of Man nerf, Freddy rework, there have been many changes for killers to make their experience better.
As much as I am frustrated with the devs that this sound bug hasn't been adressed yet, because it really should have, I'm not going to accuse them of bias towards any side.
Nerfed Nurse because she was over performing and could keep mad pressure on maps and and chases, because it gave survivor's no breathing space
Nerfed Spirit because she was over performing and irritated survivors, her nerf came with the sound bugs which has been brought up to their attention 3 months ago but isn't a priority because apparently it favors survivors
Nerfed Oni because they thought his Blood Fury flick was too strong
Nerfed Freddy's add ons because he was slowing the game down too much and they wanted to give survivor's a chance
Nerfing Ruin because it's irritating new survivor's.
The only good that they have done for killer within these last few patches is nerf balanced to attempt to end god loops which still exist on some maps. The only hope killers have left is they wake the ######### up and realize what they are doing to the killer community
-
@ad19970 said:
I've always argued that you are not biased towards survivor or killer. And I would probably still do. But it absolutely baffles me how you nerf the best perk for killers to slow down the game, but three patches later, still haven't adressed the ridiculous sound bugs that were introduced wih the Oni patch.
It is so annoying to not be able to hear running survivors at all, even when they are one meter next to you. Can anyone tell me if they at least have responded to this issue, letting us know they are aware of this problem? Because it can be a pretty crippling bug for killers, and if there hasn't even been a response yet, I think that's quite ridiculous. At least let us know you are working on a fix, losing a survivor just because they run away from a loop without actually making any effort to lose you, is quite frustrating, especially now that Ruin is nerfed and killers are playing against the clock more than ever.
Just face it brother. The devs don't give a ######### about killers or how it impacts killers. The only time they do anything about killer's is if it makes us 'Over Perform' or if it 'Inconveniences or annoys survivors' at this point I am questioning if any of the devs are fighting for or considering killers, because they seem to forget that killer make up a percentage of this games community
-
Survivor's will complain about any killer. They want killer to not exist, so play as you please

Survivors complain about NOED because they can´t bend down and do bones. I know that was silly of me not getting my point but instead using meme. The problem with Adrenaline is not it being too OP but it being annoying. You know how spirit was mad annoying becuase she (and still) had no counter play? Adrenaline has the same problem
Spirit has counterplay. You gotta keep moving. Looping her is asking for death. If they nerf Spirit any further, it's best to delete her because than they'll be defeating the purpose of her power. Plus with the shadows nerf to her, you can hear phasing while in terror radious
-
All I hear is "new player's this new player's that" When are y'all gonna address your veteran player's? Veteran player's have helped the game grow, and if veteran player's quit, new players will quit with them, or they'll quit because they have no one to show them the ropes and long queue times.
Secondly, it' seems that killer's are no longer part of y'all concern. Killer's are player's too and since y'all are nerfing Ruin without looking into why it's being used so much, y'all are better off making AI killer's since we seem invisible to y'all

What’s a Good Nurse build?
Just maxed my Leatherface and have played everything else extensively except for the Nurse (Billy and Huntress but F them)
I want to give the Nurse a go because she’s got a different play style from everyone else imo. Played her in Private’s but never competitively.
Use Shadowborn with caution. Shadowborn is a killer drug because once you become addicted to Shadowborn, it's extremely hard to get off of it especially on Nurse. As a nurse main I am permanently addicted to Shadowborn on her because without Shadowborn
1. My blink timings are #########
2. I can't react to survivors jukes fast enough
3. On Nurse I get motion sickness
Not trying to tell you how to play but use Shadowborn with caution.
-
It's not so much listening to killers, it's nerfing killers to where they are irritating to play.
When they announced Nurses "add on rework" the whole community agreed. What did the devs do? Lie to us and nerf her base kit and give her ######### add ons.
They announced changing a few things for Spirit. What did the devs do? They kept their word, but took away her base kit post phase movement speed, and shadow nerf her sounds which made her more irritating to play as.
Doctor, can literally stop survivors from dropping pallets or vaulting after shocking them, but the devs gave him a 3 second cooldown until he can attack after shocking.
I get your point, but the problem just isn't the devs not listening to killers, it's simply the devs are making killers more annoying to play

@kimukipi said:
Killers just need to adapt and improve. Didn't you read the patch notes about why ruin was getting nerfed? Its used in about 80% of games guys. Come on. No other perk from survivor or killer side is used this much. Maybe bbq but I'm sure devs will wise up and make it balanced soon. Now don't start comparing DS, BT, DH which are used widely too because they are nowhere near as powerful as ruin or bbq. Regarding gen times, there is already enough counters. Listing few below anyway..
- Patrol gens as mentioned in game loading screen. Some maps are really huge for non billy killers but you just need to find a better walking route. Doable.
- With just 8 stacks of Dying light, you can slow down the last gen by almost 24% percent. Except for the obsession though otherwise it would be OP.
- Thanatophobia is a bit OP (needs to be looked at) but you could abuse it for now. Just need to keep 4 survivors injured most of the time for a game breaking 16% action penalty and there is not much survivors could do against it except to heal (there is a perk) or sit a bit longer pressing m1.
- If a survivor is in a strong area of the map and knows to loop, just break the chase and go to the other end of the map. If all survivors keep running to the same strong area, rinse and repeat until they get tired and stop running. If games get done in 5 minutes, you are just bad. Sorry.
That's just a few. I'm done spoon feeding.
Tldr; Devs have stats. Stats don't lie. Also, contrary to popular belief here, devs do play their own game at the highest level so its not like they don't know what they are doing. Looking for constructive comments from people who play both sides 50-50 and have at least 5 k hours.
Thanks for stating the obvious but here;s what you forgot to mention. Map Designs, non mobile killer are gonna struggle because they have no alternate speed. Maps such as Mother's Dwelling, Crotus Prenn Asylum. Non mobile killers are gonna have to resort to 3 gen strat which survivor's will get upset at themselves for doing.
5 to 6 tokens of Dying Light is the ideal gen speed we killer like, only thing about Dying Light is that it requires us to keep our Obsession in check, I always slug the obsession to keep them from healing others
Thantaphobia has already been nerfed and is easily countered by healing which means the killer are going to have to keep pressure on survivors but only 3 killers are equipped with map pressure
Stating the obvious once again, but than that'll lead me into my belief why survivors don't have enough objectives while killer has too many
-
Because if we didn't care, we would just uninstall the game. We killer's see a lot of potential in the game, Right now killer's are rebellious because we feel invisible to the devs since they wanna push the veteran killers away.Without killers the game wouldn't exist. Queue times are about to end up being 30 minutes just so survivors can gen rush and the match be over in 3-5 minutes or so survivors can DC since y'all despise mori's and killers being toxic

So I find it laughable actual killer mains act like she was really nerfed. Is it pure bias? Ignorance? Just being bad? Idk. But I know you're wrong. She was barely nerfed.
Rin's nerf was nothing, I can agree to you but you also gotta be aware that there are extreme sound bugs that make her increasingly difficult to use. The devs are aware of these sound bugs but,
Lets be 💯the devs don't give a damn about killers
-
Been saying that ever since I redownloaded dbd. Its a 4v1, BHVR's logic doesn't make sense. 4 survivor's gotta work together to stay alive vs 1 muderous (Minus Wraith, Nurse, Spirit, and Plague) being. The Survivor's aren't suppose to 1v1 the killer, killer is suppose to struggle when all the survivors work together
-
For survivor I think self care shouldn't require a perk
For Killer, you nailed it on the head. Shadowborn

sorry but buying some time? literally 10 or less seconds, when someone finds it? killers shouldn't rely on it, it's not much of a good perk, it doesn't by enough time as most of my games is that ruin is gone before even someones gotten hit...i agree about the survs needing more objectives though, but killers cant blame survs for gen rush as survs are meant to do gens...we cant help it we dont have anything else to do other then bones and some dont even do them
All I need is 10 seconds to down and hook someone. Once killers get BBQ procs it gets the ball rolling even faster since it makes tracking easier

I have a lot of survivor but I have more hours in killer
We killer's ran Ruin to simply by us some time to get enough hooks in order to balance objectives. Without Ruin, gens go by too quickly, especially vs optimal teams without any gen rushing perks or items
What I'm trying to say is that killer's have too many objectives and survivor's dont have enough objectives

Simply put it, survivors are spoiled.
Nurse: Fun killer to play, most skillful character in the game, was a challenge on both sides. But survivor's were too lazy to find counter play
Spirit" Fun killer, difficult to use a first, probably had the funnest build in the game. But survivor's were too lazy to listen for her footsteps or crows, or to see grass moving, or to use Spine Chill to detect her, because Prayer Beads was to scary to deal with
I get what your saying homie but put it simple, survivor's are spoiled and if they can't escape or if it isn't fun to them. They complain

You mean nerf? Because so far the devs have showed us that their definition of a rework includes nerfing

I didn't intend to slug but the reason why it came to that is Simply because I downed Claud within the pallet and Nea was in my face, so I hooked her in hopes that claud would be on her feet when I heard her being healed by Ace who orginally [BAD WORD] up, because instead of getting Claud on her feet and taking agro like I wanted him to, he chose to hide in an obvious place, and get mad and DC because he misplayed. Do you know how many people said once ruin changes go live they are camping/tunneling/slugging just because they are mad. I don't understand it. And I'm not saying that they have to play to make me have fun.
But if you wanna act like that then I'm gonna make it so you possibly don't get a pip. Its one in the same right? Seems like most killers just chalk a win up to pipping..or getting that 4k
Well DC isn't actually a kill and could cause your little pip to not be there..
Im just saying, People need to look at the reasons in WHOLE. not jus "they were mad" or "they werent good enough" it actually takes me a bit to dc but once I do, Im done with the game for the day.
I can fully agree with you, on those reasons to DC besides slugging. I didn't intend to slug but the reason why it came to that is Simply because I downed Claud within the pallet and Nea was in my face, so I hooked her in hopes that claud would be on her when I heard her being healed by Ace who orginally ######### up, because instead of getting Claud on her feet and taking agro like I wanted him to, he chose to hide in an obvious place, and get mad and DC because he misplayed. Like that David, I ######### up my blink, he had plenty of reaction time to see that I ######### up my blink. What did he do, vault the pallet and DC because he ######### up.

I don't see why people are saying the Killer shouldn't have slugged the Survivors. If the Ace didn't DC, this situation wouldn't have occurred.
I understand the frustrations against a Killer that actively slugs the whole group, but when the situation is caused by a Survivor you can only really blame the Survivor.
Thank you! I had full intentions on hooking Ace, so David could get Claud up, than I would have gone after David, than Nea and or Claud could have gone after Ace. But Ace chose to get mad because I heard him healing Claudette and instead of running he chose to stay in a obvious hiding spot and DC because HE ######### UP and got spotted.

Interesting to see all the people that believe this is fine. So if survivors bring brand new parts and went balls to the wall popping 3 gens in the first minute it's cool if the killer bounces?
Define "Believe this is fine"?

Coming from a killer main, maybe try not slugging the whole team in the first minute. I don’t blame them for disconnecting.
So what am I suppose to do if the other survivor's are nearby and I can hear or predict them? I'm suppose to just walk away?

As a survivor: Looking out for other's, I will take hit's, sacrifice myself so the other's can escape, if I accidentally lead the killer to someone i'll take a hit to keep the killer focused on me.
As a killer: Idk, I guess I'm too nice.
