Why do people still think stealth killers are low tier?

It's hard for me to fathom really, I see people say wraith, pig, gf get looped into oblivion but I feel they only ever go against bad stealth killer if that's the case, I personally play pig and wraith avidly and they are much stronger than people set them out to be. Especially since I 4k with them nearly every game in red ranks (specifically wraith, my boi top 5) it makes me wonder where people get these notions of them being bad are coming from. I mean seriously if you have ever gone against a sweaty R1 wraith, pig, gf you understand what i'm talking about when I say they are very scary. Their ability to apply pressure across the board is amazing but imo the most effective at it is wraith... yes wraith, most people think he is like C tier but that speedy bell clanging boi can apply so much pressure it'll make you wanna be a baby dweet in a locker. Me personally when I play, even going against top 5% gen rush swf's, wraith holds up very well and the pressure is immense, the key is... don't chase, just catch em off guard :D and let the thanataphobia rain.

  • I think that people just have it drilled into their heads that Wraith is bad. It’ll probably take a big buff or rework to get people to accept him as being decent at least.

Problem with Wraith is - he's only good with certain builds; and these are builds you can slap on any killer to make them half-viable. Otherwise he's literally the definition of lower-mid tier.

  • Go to autoheaven as GF and go inside of the gas station towards the gen (you know which one), hide behind the car in stealth mode, as soon as someone enters go for the insta grab from the generator. WORKS EVERY TIME.

    Post game messages:

"What the hell is wrong with you! I almost had a heart attack"

"Dude... My cat attacked me cause I sreamed because of what you did..."

"Why do you do this to people! Are you a psycho?!"

"OMG! That almost made me break my screen and controller!"

"I'm gonna start doing that as GF! The biggest scare jump I've ever had!"

  • Many true stealth killers lack the ability to end chases quickly. Yes, you can get the first hit in without a problem, but the problem lies with the second strike on good survivors.

Ghostface and Wraith are a blast to play, especially the Wraith with the right build/Addons. Yet both of them can and will still struggle to end a chase if they get caught in a bad loop.

Not saying it is impossible to win, because it’s not, but it’s harder than some of the other killers.

True, wraith is only very scary with proper builds... but, here is my counter, how many games do you see killers playing awful builds in red ranks for their killers? Your argument is a mute point because you generally play killers with what you can most likely win with.

That's why you make builds to keep the injured for longer and don't chase, i'm not trying to sound like true talent here but you have to apply that pressure, and catch them off guard.

I think a killer needs to be good with more than just a specific build or two to be "good" or movable on a tier list. Bubba for example. Give him PWTF, Nemesis etc (the standard obsession racer build), and he's pretty scary. He's still a horses ass of a killer, though.

  • Personally, I think tactics that can be used on Wraith or Ghostface don't really work on Pig because her stealthing is the slowest and clunkiest of them all IMO. Example: I find that the hit and run Thana strategy that Wraith and Ghostface can use doesn't work nearly as well on Pig because she slows down substantially when she stealths up, so any benefit Thana might have is offset by the extra time it takes for Pig to cover distance while sneaking. All she has to make up for her weaker stealthing is a situational Ambush and inconsistent Traps.

Traps are less for killing and just a slowdown tool to get them off gens, you don't want to sneak all the time with pig but by experience you find a nice middle ground of sneaking and regular movement to attain about the same affect, pig many times can be even stronger than gf or wraith because of her traps along with the injury slowdown or slugging you can insue.

The problem with Traps is that they are very inconsistent at stalling. The middle ground still means she has to slow down compared to Ghostface, who doesn't, and Wraith, who speeds up (though he does slow down when uncloaking, though he also attacks faster out of uncloak).

Spine Chill can be countered easily by just going backwards towards the generator you know is being worked on by a Spine Chill user. Works everytime, they rely on Spine Chill too much ;)

It's hilarious seeing killers try this. I literally just walk away and they lose me lol.

.. well you don't go straight at the generator, obviously. You go from the side, in hiding. Behind walls or obstacles. And you can tell if they're still working on it or not by the sound

But yeah if they're going in reverse in plain sight, no one would get caught :p

Props to any killer who can expertly weave behind obstacles backwards. I have yet to face one though.

Well depends on the map.. I wouldn't do that on Lery's.. but some maps are easier to do that on, if the path towards the jungle gym is clear and the generator is hidden behind its walls, then it's easier to do it. Or you can make a mental image.. tree, rock on the left, so if you bump into something, press A or D to move accordingly

    le gasp

You foiled my plans! How could you?!

  • My brain's bigger than yours, obviously! ;)

  • 1. Spine Chill

Stealth killers shouldn't be detected by any perk when in stealth mode, and people who rely on Spine Chill rely heavily on TR when they don't have it

    2. Swf

Too much info is being passed through their comms

  • They usually stay lower tier because of Mobility issues, the fact that a lot of them are M1 killers whos power doesn't help in a chase, and sometimes their stealth isn't actually stealthy at all, like you can hear them coming a mile away or you can hear them breathing or you hear a ######### wind tunnel or some stupid #########.

Basically.....BHVR keeps hand holding survivors too much for stealth killers to be the actual threat they present in their kit. And as a whole BHVR hand holds survivors too much. Giving them too much information regardless of their rank, and in general just babying them.
