"Conspiracy theories". Friend, the number of cases in my state alone increased by more than 10x within a matter of days, and that's only confirmed cases. Stocks are crashing, retirement funds are burning, schools/work are closing, all major events are being canceled, and yet we still have complete idiots who have a decent following saying it's "not a big deal" then getting infected themselves and getting others around them infected (Rudy Gobert). With how quickly this thing is spreading and how much damage it's done globally, millions within 2 years globally isn't even a stretch.
But back to DbD while we're throwing complaints in the pile: revert deathslinger change pls
Great the world is trying to prevent the spread of a highly infections disease akin to the flu despite economic consequences and you're saying everyone's gonna die in a couple years... aces.

Nice Job! You just wasted a few minutes of your life writing a post complaining about the same things you find on any other post and expect the devs to see this post and immediately change their ways! You deserve a mountain of cookies and milk for all your hard work! You Fixed the game Great job!.
Great to see people like you doing nothing about it, at least I wan't to keep spreading awareness.

You know, I want to take a moment to appreciate that millions of us are probably going to die within the next couple of years because of a frickin virus, but we're still going to be bitching about DbD right up until the very end. There's something poetic about that.
Anyway, killer queues are longer (which isn't actually correct for me on PS4 at rank 1) because people are all playing the new killer. Factor in rank/time of day/region/etc.
Glad to see your coming onto a forum, a place where people go to complain about stuff to complain about the complaining and then spout nonsense conspiracy theories...

Currently there is no other game where I can eat people as a demogorgon... so not any time soon, that's what is awful about this game they have such good talent on their hands such good vision for a fun and amazing experience yet their mechanical and balancing competency is as complex and thought out as a loaf of bread. They take 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards and having no competition leaves me dry...
I would go play After Dark on pc if I had one and play that newly released spider creature but 1 I don't have a gaming pc and 2... it's player population isn't the best and as such not a viable competitor to dbd

This.
People think he's a god because he overuses the term "mindgame" while chasing potatoes most of the time.
Personally I think he's a rather average red rank killer performance-wise considering he's been playing DBD 7 days a week since 2016 and yet didn't even know old Doctor could grab in treatment mode till he got grabbed off the hook (in 2019). He didn't even know saboed traps respawned after the devs patched it.
He doesn't even know how non-meta survivor perks work to this day. He has never even tried to make a killer respect a pallet to go for another loop. He can't 360 or juke etc.
Quite simply an overrated player.
People don't think of tru3 as a god that's an overstatement
And his reputation is rightfully earned, he plays both sides quite effectively and consistently unlike many other more average players and has one of the best critical thinking and analyzing minds in dbd's streamer area. He encourages discussion on topics and has fostered a very positive and like-minded community who'd rather think on something than judge and jump to conclusions. He isn't perfect, and he doesn't know everything despite what you may think because he is a streamer he doesn't live on dbd, he has a life outside of it and shouldn't have to know every micro detail of the game to be considered "good" by you, he has done far more for this community than you likely ever will.

What entitlement? The only entitlement in this thread is killers wanting a match that ended in a 3K to be made longer than it was so there is the possibility of a 4K.
Your understanding of the main point of this post still baffles me after reading all your comments... lemme put it like this, I can show you case after case from even different players and even my own freaking games played of how unbalanced this game can be towards survivors as long as they hold m1 on a gen as a priority, yes tru3 freaking 3k'd this game to the survivors fault, but I can show you games easily of how a 1,2 or 0k happens on the regular, and you don't even watch his streams so you miss out on the games where things don't go as pretty as the one you saw above. My entire point to this post is to open people's eyes to how no matter how you play with 99% of the cast survivors can genrush the heck out of you and it basically encourages 99% of the killer cast to play scummy thus causing a cycle of toxicity. I cannot grasp why you don't think the game should be balanced to push away these types of matches, THESE MATCHES ARE NOT FUN AND UNFAIR TO WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SCARY BAD GUY OF THE GAME. Why shouldn't they be balanced out? The unfairness is obvious, the "SURVIVORS" should not have the power to do this to the "KILLERS" it is like the roles are reversed in this game. These matches are NOT a 1/100 chance, they can happen a multitude of times in one playsession, that is enough to warrant concern; and then when you have an entire community of players complaining for HALF A DECADE that this is an issue, then you would expect someone to see the writing on the wall and do something about it. But it seems you like killers as they are, and feeling like an over empowered survivor that has the advantage of mechanics as well the numbers advantage... it is a 4v1! The side with 4 is SUPPOSED to be WEAKER because they are 4 and NOT 1... it's logic.

I don't think you understand really, I'm not saying the game is balanced, but these tru3 videos always get posted on the forums every time he posts them on his youtube, and they all end the same 3/4Ks, we shouldn't be balancing the game around these extremely rare occurrences.
No we shouldn't, so is what you are saying that these occurrences should be allowed to happen? *By the By they aren't as rare as you make them out to be* I say something should be done than nothing, I never understood why people like you fight so hard to make sure killers stay as trash as they are, don't you want a challenge in DBD? Or are you okay with ez games vrs. underpowered opponents

Of course he struggled with a new killer. It takes time to learn how to play a new killer properly. I was watching Marth struggle alot with Deathslinger last night. As the evening progressed he got a better feel for the new killer. I don't disagree that the early game needs to be slowed a bit. But you act like every game is filled with veteran rank 1 survivors.
I've stated on this thread games like this can be not as common as ones with average survivors, but they happen well enough to warrant a half a decade long controversy to how survivors are the power role

The fact that these kinds of matches are rare as it is, it still ended with a 3K doesn't matter to you? These matches are incredibly rare, tru3 LOVES to upload these matches when they happen, but they only happen rarely, if it was a common sight you'd see these videos from him every day but... you don't.
For one Tru3 despises these kind of matches he's said it himself, for two he has had plenty of days where he has gone against top level survivors through most of his play session he has said it in even the small tidbits of random games if you just browse his videos through different time periods, and for three there are many videos he doesn't upload to his youtube, that either go as what you see here or him just stomping so hard it isn't video worthy, either way yes these high level players are on the rarer end because average and bad survivors are more common... HOWEVER, these high end survivors are common enough to warrant the nigh thousands of complaints, posts, videos, and more on this types of players controlling the game and limiting killer effectiveness. The survivors in this game weren't even THAT good, they just focused gens, this is why so there are so many complaints, you don't need to be a all rank 1 swf OoO triple toolbox flashlight all meta perk squad to get games like this, you just need to be decent and focus gens on and not 3 gen yourself and you are good.

The demo tunnels and pressures no one else in that match during gen fixing, they had nothing to do so that is entirely on the killer.
Look at the clip myers posted, killer chases someone, downs them and applies pressure elsewhere in attempt to slow them down, it still results to nothing.

It doesn't make what happened any less true?
There are more videos on tru3s channel of him 3K/4King by about 20x than there are of "gen rushing".
Initial generators don't matter, I really don't see how killers don't see this, you can 4K with 2 gens done, you can 4K with 3 gens done, you can 4K with 4 gens done, and those gens done don't matter because the game wasn't over until you killed everyone.
The fact that is flying over your oblivious head is that the survivors had 100% control of how that game ended, they could of left her and easy as pie tru3 would of got a 1k from camping gg ez wp. But on their accord they went and tried to save her with two people injured and coming in separated... it was fully on the survivors while they lost not tru3 outplaying them and that is the problem, the killer is at the MERCY of the survivors decisions, not the other way around.

Omg do I really gotta go find the all the killer games from multiple streamers or all the posts and complaints talking about this very issue to prove to you that this exists? I can go make a smurf get in a green rank game with clown and make the survivors my playthings if I wanted to, is that what you are referring to when you say killers decimating matches? We've all seen survivors that are average or make really dumb mistakes get decimated, your point? 4 gens done in less than 4 minutes despite 80 second Corrupt Intervention.
Those Survivors had no stealth skills, were not good at chases and even worse at saving. While Tru3 could've played better, the Survivor team played worse and up to the 4 minute mark was carried by how fast gens can be done.
BHVR needs to start developing a secondary objective ASAP (they should also stop making Killers without movement/travel options, but that's for another topic).
Also note how the devs won't respond to this post because they know they have nothing to say about this, no matter the evidence we bring up they will offer a whopping 0 amount of justification for their decision making in balancing for this topic.

Imagine running an item farming build with that perk, it would be almost as bad as bringing a medkit or running self care against plague

It's because the devs took an entire week of ptb forum feedback and threw it in the trashbin in favor of probably some stats and internal playtesting and assumed off of that he needed no changes, and said... You realize that re-working perks, reworking maps and everything else takes time, right? It's not like they can go in tomorrow and be like "Okay, this map has been reworked, these add-ons have been changed, etc..." Reworking a perk takes time. They have to look at the perk, see how its used, then decide how it can be changed without making the game broken in some way. Then they have to actually code the perk.
I said a roadmap... not a next week update, please read the post

my analysis is they cant do anything xd, because lowering skill cap is worst thing they can do, and they cant make holding m1 longer (because that wont fix anything, just high kill ratio will be even higher)
"why is it so hard for everyone to be happy?" because its impossible?? we're not living in perfect world, do you remember old event where survivors got 2nd objective (drain juice from flowers)? and instead of playing game normally with 2nd objective they drain them and then asked killer to kill them? or perk ruin that was made to help weaker killers but every billy, spirit, nurse ran it? or slowdown add ons on freddy? if players wouldnt abuse crap out of stacking slowdown those add ons wouldnt ever be nerfed(now are dog ....) etc etc
devs had a lot of great ideas but community abused crap out of them, and youre telling me there is perfect solution that makes game ultra ballanced (when "strategy" where killer tunnel crap out of 1 surv and then play 3vs1 normally is still a thing)
My point is simple, I don't want perfect balance I want killer to be a threat and not a survivors plaything
Doing something is better than doing nothing

Essentially you are asking for 4K every game by slowing down gen speed progress via toolbox nerf or whatever else. I don’t want to stay on the map one more minute with how swiftly I’ve seen killers wipe survivor teams. If that’s entirely a possibility why is there an issue? Can they just strip Mori’s and those damn lunge attacks? Maybe their fvcking speed? It’s nuts that there’s such a lack of cover and dead ends and open area everywhere because map design is terrible.
This person sounds like a rank 15 survivor main
-
@White_Owl said:
Frankly if you are not playing spirit, usually your best outcome is 2 kills 2 escapes.
Couldn't it be that you're better with the Spirit than with the rest of the cast?
For example I don't play her a lot and I'm not that good so I average 1-2 kills, but if I play my mains (Wraith, Trapper, Legion, Doctor and Demogorgon, all considered not top tier) I consistenly get more than 2 kills.
It refers to my point of you not playing against these top level players every match, to this reason is why DBD is still playable and the issue I am discussing is in the minority, however it happens frequently enough to why there is such controversy on the topic. I guarantee you that if you play a swf 4 man sweat team every match your results would not be the same as average red rank players.
-
@Galklife said:
i get what youre saying but that has other side of coin
"As a side note, I am asking these questions because I really do like DBD, I want to be able to play any killer and feel no matter the map or caliber of survivors I have a fair shot to be able to get a 4k despite what placement they are on some tierlist. I don't want every killer to be juiced up to the point of insanity either, just having the ability to play leatherface and feel I have the same chance at winning as say the spirit would be nice to feel and make the game a whole lot more fun for killers."
other side: i want to have fair chance to escape no mather if its LF or instasaw billy or wakizashi Spirit or iri head huntress :)
this game is impossible to ballance around everything and they already gave up on that, now they are only buffing/nerfing killers that are "overperforming" and "underperforming"
if killer wants surv dead he is dead no matter what he will do, so its bad if good survs can escape if they tryhard?? before ruin rework EVERY killer had above 65% kill ratio (even clown), now devs will get data how games go without ruin in almost every game in red rank, then after patch they will see data after toolboxes nerf and we will see that will come next (hopefully keys and moris rework at the same time)
and unless youre rly rly bad those good teams (that makes you 0k or 1k) should balance out with full potato team (hell huge majority of survs is bad), but thats problem with most killers personalities if they 0k "this game is crap, how could i lose, unbalanced game", after 4k "thats how it should be" after looking at attitude of killers they dont feel good with 4k but feel bad if they wont, so whats the point of playing then? (ok small disclaimer i have over 900h only on killers and never push kills because rank doesnt matter anyway)
and there is 1 big issue in balancing around good players, youre taking as given, good players/veterans are giving their all when they play xd i have ~1500h on survs and i think im decent but i dont push gens, im doing chests, 5 totems, some head on memes xd so should i get punished for playing more than others?
So your analysis is do nothing? No, something should be done, despite what you are saying here we should balance to a point where both sides of the spectrum can enjoy themselves, and if killers have certain extremely strong addons then they should be nerfed. It is simple, why is it so hard to ask for everyone to be happy? I know it can't be perfect for everyone but do you really think that this is how this game should be? Killers feeling like an uphill battle and survivors feeling like invincible juking gods? No it should be quite the opposite, Killers should pose a threat to EVERYONE, each and every one of them, this is a HORROR game, and should be treated as such.
-
Dedicated servers seemed inconsistent, some days it was great others it was complete garbage, rather they stay away until the devs fix them, which'll probably take them another 9 months

You can balance a 4v1 it just takes a dev team that's willing to address issues that exist

Dividing the affects of a perk by rank is a bad idea

Yeah, but I still see him as more powerful. He has more map pressure that doesn't require effort.
As Pig most of the pressure comes from the mid-game when you have already downed people. Billy has it instantly and permanently.
Yeah but that map pressure doesn't do much when survivors just run off to strong loops seeing and hearing him coming from a mile away, piggy can get close without you knowing and her traps put survivors out of position to get to the jigsaw boxes.

Agree to disagree. When your power is literally "proxy-camp to win" then your power is essentially garbage. Yes this is what happens on console.
When I can verse Hags as a whole who don't do this, then I might gain a modicum of respect for them.
Nobody uses her power to shut down loops, gather information or apply pressure. They place traps at your feet on hook, and in front of a totem. Never anywhere else.
Might just be all the Hags I've versed, but none of them are proving me wrong.
Billy isn't stealthy, piggy is though

Sure actual gameplay has improved. But the community and play styles and the constant mess the servers are in make the game more painful than it ever had been.
Are you sure about that? It's not like there is a literal period referred to as the "dark times" in dbd history by many veterans. Are you so quick to forget how awfully unfun and unbalanced this game used to be with also horrible bugs, matchmaking glitches, and VERY toxic playstyles and hordes of bully swf teams out to make the killer their plaything. I think you need a vibe check
-
Yeah, I also missed how this game was before all of the amazing balance changes that have only been making the game more fair and balanced for killers and survivors alike, I totally want back all the broken toxic bs that was in this game 2 plus years ago.
To me it sounds like you are just missing the hey-day's of being in toxic 4 man swf's that could run the killer for all game and stall it for minutes on end without fail using broken insta heals, pre nerf ds, pallet vaccums, insta flashlights, infinites, and more with no egc to cease the madness.
Yeah this game sureeeeely was so much better back then and hasn't improved vastly since release.

@LoverOfDemogorgon I'd say it would have made more sense to change Insideous to apply Undetectable to the killer upon hitting a survivor with a Basic Attack. Keeping the times and cooldown you suggested; that way if you commit to the survivor, you've wasted it - since chase music takes priority over the Terror Radius. And it can also put the mindgame of "is the killer still following me?" if they decide to break chase and LOS. And since the timer for it isn't long, the killer has to commit to one or the other: leave them to stealth approach gens, or mindgame the survivor by feigning leaving and coming back to catch them out.
Edit: forgot to add that I would have preffered this version I suggested before Dark Devotion did this very thing lol
I think sticking to the "end chase" requirement would be good and necessary for variety's sake, unless it would become a better version of DD.
-
@IMAFEEISH said:
Honestly I like it. But the lvl 3 version should only have up to 15 seconds with a cooldown of 1 minute. 25 seconds of undetectable for killers who struggle to stealth is WAY to easy to achieve every 30 seconds.
I think 12/16/20 seconds would be a nice middle ground with a cooldown of 60/50/45 seconds.

My gripe with the totems is that they are hardly ever worth it to you, a very specific circumstance needs to happen for you to get the totems to actually do their job in red ranks. That isn't high risk high reward, it bad design

More like 90% fail rate 10% maybe a reward if the game doesn't end before you get past 3 stacks.

@TAG said:
Personally, I think tactics that can be used on Wraith or Ghostface don't really work on Pig because her stealthing is the slowest and clunkiest of them all IMO. Example: I find that the hit and run Thana strategy that Wraith and Ghostface can use doesn't work nearly as well on Pig because she slows down substantially when she stealths up, so any benefit Thana might have is offset by the extra time it takes for Pig to cover distance while sneaking. All she has to make up for her weaker stealthing is a situational Ambush and inconsistent Traps.
Traps are less for killing and just a slowdown tool to get them off gens, you don't want to sneak all the time with pig but by experience you find a nice middle ground of sneaking and regular movement to attain about the same affect, pig many times can be even stronger than gf or wraith because of her traps along with the injury slowdown or slugging you can insue.
-
@Divinitye9 said:
Many true stealth killers lack the ability to end chases quickly. Yes, you can get the first hit in without a problem, but the problem lies with the second strike on good survivors.
Ghostface and Wraith are a blast to play, especially the Wraith with the right build/Addons. Yet both of them can and will still struggle to end a chase if they get caught in a bad loop.
Not saying it is impossible to win, because it’s not, but it’s harder than some of the other killers.
That's why you make builds to keep the injured for longer and don't chase, i'm not trying to sound like true talent here but you have to apply that pressure, and catch them off guard.

Problem with Wraith is - he's only good with certain builds; and these are builds you can slap on any killer to make them half-viable. Otherwise he's literally the definition of lower-mid tier.
True, wraith is only very scary with proper builds... but, here is my counter, how many games do you see killers playing awful builds in red ranks for their killers? Your argument is a mute point because you generally play killers with what you can most likely win with.

I mean I do use it against sweaty red rank SWFs and it works fine; I also have hundreds of demo games played, and I think it's really good on him. It can be funny with 8 stacks and overly altruistic survivors during end game too lol.
I don't rely on it though because there are plenty of other things you can do with him that are just as good, or maybe even better for you depending on your playstyle. I like using Devour Hope sometimes for example, because his ability to defend it is crazy good.
I a big stickler for consistency, I go with builds that get me as close to a 100% success rate as i can as long as I play on point, STBFL didn't offer me that, against 4 pro looper survivors who focus gens and dont stupidly hook bomb STBFL doesn't do jack when every second matters and more then often you are going for shred's on loops.
DH I guess could be good, i haven't bothered to playtest it because totems aren't consistent

I've compared STBFL to the perks in my current build, it isn't useful nor consistent enough vs. try hard sweaty teams and can take a bit to get online thus lowering effectivity, are you a demo main with hundreds of games played on him? If not then i recommend you try and use that perk yourself and see how useful it is vs the top teams running around.

That can happen, but there was a suggestion that the warm up phase would end when a survivor came within striking distance. So either way the killer gets a first hit, rather than no first hit because you get ran by the best player in the match for 3 gens (Not speaking from experience >_>).
And who said you are forced to chase said person? Why not take the free hit and find someone else? Killer progressivism, dont chase... apply pressure!
