There's policies to follow and more than likely, legal stuff.
Just because I shop at walmart doesn't mean they have to make changes or even listen to my feelings. At the end if the day, BHVR has the complete health of the game to consider. As players, it's common to only consider a part instead of the whole.
Sidenote, don't let a video game take a toll on your mental health. In the end, it's just not worth it ✌...
How does the current legion changes represent them having a firm grasp and understanding on what helps and fixes their game overall? They caused this firestorm

It's a protection thing, basically. Some things they're simply not allowed to comment on for confidentiality reasons.
But in general, they're just cautious about it. It's not a lack of transparency, so much as the fact that they know the community will latch onto their every word and call them out for being "liars" or something to that effect if they don't follow through. So they have to make sure that everything they say is correct and accurate, and that they don't make any promises they're not certain they can keep, because they're constantly under the spotlight and subjected to so much criticism.
And honestly, speaking of criticism, the amount of poop that's hurled at the devs on a daily basis would quite frankly make anyone reluctant to engage. So if they sometimes hold back from controversial topics because they would rather not be bombarded with abuse, I can't really blame them.
The other thing is they're just really busy. There are only a handful of CMs, and they get hundreds of tags and messages and replies on a daily basis (Peanits in particular). And being active on the forums is only one part of their jobs. It's not realistic to expect them to be hanging around here engaging with discussions and putting out fires all or even most of the time.
This would hardly ever be the case if devs actually made an effort to the communities liking's and not screw in alliance with overall balance, there would be much less anger and hate if they wouldn't create an experience in which players come back angry and hateful from, like I said, they don't ask their community on ANY upcoming changes, and don't even TRY to answer controversial issues, all people are doing is asking why, why this, why that? Is every single time the community managers are unequipped to answer these questions? Or as you claim they don't have the backbone to handle them.

They don't have to read your thread. Your opinion is not some sacred text looked over and fed back to the developer team, and to top it off, you threw a tantrum and bothered him while he was streaming to ask why you weren't given the attention you wanted.
He didn't throw a tantrum and people like you supporting the devs in their backwards corporate centric mentality is appaling. We aren't demanding they read every thread post, they don't seem to flippin read ANY of them or if they do they don't even answer the PRESSING ISSUE, i've seen peanits go into hot topics post's and answer smaller less weighty questions INSIDE that thread... do you NOT see a problem their? They cherry pick and ignore feedback they ASSUME is "BIASED" or "OVER EMOTIONAL" and where has that got them? Making backwards legion changes as such.

To be frank, that’s a disgusting attitude.
Just because someone chooses to spend their money somewhere, doesn’t automatically entitle them to make demands.
You do not understand the difference between a demand and transparency...
I am not asking for the devs to bend to my will when I ask for something
What I am asking and wish all game communities expected of their devs is for information that directly affects the balance of a game is to query the community on it in some fashion and to keep the lines of communication open to respond to controversial topics and issues that matter to those that play their game. In all honesty if the dev team simply asks their community the changes they want to apply majorly then the game and the community would be much healthier for it. Instead they are silent to most things and continue down a path of separation to the voices that cry out one thing and the devs do the exact opposite... how are we wrong for getting agitated when the devs do the exact OPPOSITE of what the community wants? THE COMMUNITY, we play the game so why do the reverse of what we think will make the experience better?

This^
BHVR have a right to keep a lid on sensitive corporate information, just like any business, AND it’s at their discretion what they deem sensitive corporate information.
Just be grateful any information is shared at all!!!
You run a company like that, especially a video game, it get's run into the ground. Look at anthem or fallout 76 for an example of what lack of respect and clarity to your community, we respect them by giving them money to increase they quality of the product we invested into, if they want that income stream to last they BETTER respect us just the same and give us transparency to better suit OUR interests as we are the ones that invest into and play their game keeping it alive.

Because absolute transparency makes the community feel like they have the right to demand this, that and the other thing even more than they already do. It's still the devs' game and it's up to them what happens.
Also a lot of what we see comes through community managers, we get responses when there's an agreed upon response to be had. It's probably the same reason we don't see a lot of devstreams any more, they get sick of saying "That's an interesting idea, but it's not on our radar at the moment."
Peanits does a lot of responding, and is more often than not the voice of reason on "nerf X" posts to point out why suggestions are simply not a fair change, but they don't need to respond to every single thread to be active.
When there is a severe issue, and people are demanding answers or changes, it's probably better for them to stay quiet than to say something uncertain and be held to that later. Like the Tome changes, there were pages of threads on it, but there's no sense saying "we're looking into it" until they actually knew for sure that changes would be made, or they may have to return with "nothing's changing" which would feel worse with false hope.
This I feel is you are answering the wrong question here, the devs community managers never respond to the controversial or hot pressing matters for the reasons Ulven quoted above, because of "Bias" and "Emotion", of course there is going to be emotion and bias in everything but that does not exempt it from a read after a MAJOR patch. Many of these decisions seem to be made because they devs don't look at the majority of proper criticism because they classify it as said above. Imagine if they asked or polled a community on ptb or upcoming changes they would like to implement? Imagine how healthier and more concrete the changes would be because they asked their own community what THEY wanted, because guess what, it doesn't matter if it's their game, WE GIVE THEM MONEY, THEY WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT OUR SUPPORT.

No, after a day of playing him at red ranks he is absolute dogpoop

Lol actually read through this thread. Where's my "LOL" reaction to give to the OP? Sounds like someone who's never played Nurse and never got past Rank 10 saying that "new Nurse is fine cause streamers said she was OP before and now she was nerfed."
You obviously didn't read, I said I have played her plenty in red ranks

You admit she takes skill but call her broken.
She had counterplay before the nerf. All the nerf did was turn it from skillful and location based descion making into a dash in a straight line to make her constantly have to double blink just to catch up and never worry about being challenged.
Nurse's counterplay wasn't all that great if nurse read what you were doing.

I specifically said it doesn't matter how well I do or don't do; it doesn't feel rewarding. The new mechanics just aren't fun to deal with. And it's not fun to play against her because most players aren't good with her, so it's a boring match. Before the change, even inexperienced Nurses still managed to interact somewhat with survivors, but now they might as well not even be on the map.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/883221#Comment_883221
You're probably right. Different people have different ideas of what's fun, so it's not like you can sway their opinion on it, anyway.
The whole point of this post is to express my opinion of the current changes on those characters, for nurse in specific I understand that you may not have fun but I do, that my opinion and off of that I have had plenty of success and seeing others complain about how awful her changes are makes me cringe. I understand people wanted nurse's addons nerfed and thats great but her base kit nerf I feel is a welcome change. Her base kit always annoyed me pre nerf, now it actually feels like I need to really take into account how and when I use my blinks.

I don't care how well Nurse can perform, she was already a struggle to have fun with on console, and now she's not fun at all. It's no longer an entertaining challenge; playing as her is frustrating and unrewarding. Kills aren't the only thing that matter. I can have fun without killing anyone, and I can have miserable games where I 4k.
Her add-ons needed changing; her base kit didn't. And now, the few times I've gone up against Nurse as a survivor, I get almost no Boldness points in a chase because she quickly falls so damn far behind. Yeah, great killer.
Really weird, when I play at ranks red I can end chases quite quickly with well timed blinks and reads despite the survivors best effort at looping and evading... I play on console as well... hmmmm... ahh that doesn't matter she must suck cuz when i play her I dont succeed! That surely can't mean i'm just bad at this new version of nurse and need to practice her more to get good... naaaaah

The git gud argument is used by lazy people..I look at the facts
Fact: her playrate has dropped by over 75 percent
Fact: Everyone was on board to remove the addons that broke her..but the base kit change was hated immediately
Fact: zome of the most well known nurse players in the game all hate the change for the same reason..it feels horrible and was totally unnecessary to start with
Fact: The change made their desire to create alternative playstyles people would actually use fail miserably because the cooldown makes it pointless on all addons but 2 and only because they limit your blinking
Fact: several streamers I've personally asked have stated they've seen maybe 2 nurses since her change and one even went so far as to say none of them did very well at all..so either all the good nurses quit or there is a problem
Ever heard of overreaction? 3 years of getting used to a busted killer will do that to a playerbase, now that she is balanced guess what? She's now "un fun" and "too complicated" or in other words, "I need to re learn her again but i don't feel like it, devs pls bring back op busted nurse so i can have more survivors dc at my brokenness"

Do you think that Nurse with only basekit pre-nerf was overpowered? If so, do you also think that a very efficient 4man is also overpowered? What do you think the game should be balanced around? Solo, SWF? These are the questions that will help me and others gauge where you lie instead of trying to force derivative opinions without trying to find out the base of your beliefs.
Basekit pre-nerf was busted, if she guessed right no matter how you juked her she got the hit 0 counter play, at least now she has a cooldown so she cant just spam it out after a fatigue.
4 man swf is op
Game should be balanced inbetween to appease both sides, and lower the strength of the latter but increase the strength of solo's and weaker killers.

Congratulations, you're the only godlike demodoggo!
Nah, i've seen a few other good ones, but it's rare because he takes actual skill and isn't some ez mode headphone auto pilot killer like spirit

Literally every game i can remember against the demogorgon as rank 1 solo survivor was an at least three man escape. Honestly because you can hear him doin #########. Teleporting, attacking, even walking.
Then those demo's you run up against are trash, becuase I 4k and 3k plenty if i'm on my A game, games I get 2k or lower are a rarity for me.

The more you talk the less I believe your being honest...because you should know better if your being truthful
Or maybe you just cant comprehend someone not having "the norm" of the usual nurse opinions who aren't lemming train followers that think she is ruined, I think the changes they did were perfect, people just need to git gud

Nurse really isnt that good at present..and her basekit change was foolish because it went against their objectives while merely making nurse no fun to play..and I'm sorry but if your not using cooldown or range addons..your facing scrubs if they easily lose to slow nurse
I disagree with your opinion

Yeah, why would you play a killer that is mechanically trying to fight you and frustrate you the whole match? That's what Nurse is now. Not a test of your skill but paitence.
@OP try and make a decent post like this. Well thought out and explained, while offering his opinion.
She still takes plenty of skill, it just seems to me people are salty their broken character got nerfed and is now balanced because of it, you just want her back to being good old easy and busted nurse
-
I said it was my honest opinion didn't I? I think people are just bad to be complaining about killers that can still preform well just not busted as heck. Nurse I usually use two yellow addons, and do just fine. A bigger cooldown window isn't hurting me much at all if you are good and hit your blinks

I agree. But one thing he really needs is some noise reduction. Seriously he's making noise by existing.
No he doesn't, I mindgame fine and well with him being as he is, survivors need something to track what he is doing. Again it seems the problem is more people needing to git gud than a character being weak.

Yes he is a very good killer with practice and i don't struggle with him it's just that he doesn't have really anything special going for him. He doesn't excel at one thing but instead can be good at multiple things "well rounded" like you said but it's just all of the things he is good at can be done better by different killers like freddy, nurse, spirit, hillbilly, and Oni can do the things demogorgon can do better. The only thing really unique about him is his top notch visual and sound design. These changes focus on making him keep survivors on edge they don't know when and how he will attack.
Why does he need them though? If I can beat the best teams with said killer then anyone can do it with practice, he doesn't need to be S tier to be good, and buffing him would be overkill. And as far as I know, you can hear oni, billy, nurse, and spirit coming... demo has a global scream so if you don't see a portal open then you are clueless to where he is, and thus the mindgames ensue.
-
This would be amazing! I wish they would of put this as one of oni's perks
-
He doesn't need buffs, it's called practice demogorgon, get a good build that synergizes with what you what to do in a match and he is an amazing killer, just because you struggle with a killer doesn't mean they need buffs, maybe you just need to play them more.
Demogorgon's kit is very well rounded, he has map pressure, location tools, and anti loop/ gain distance tools. But he takes skill, which is why he is hard to learn, you just have to learn tactics and strategies that you can find success with. I'm a demo main that easily get's R1 with him, he needs no buffs.
-
It's a parody of survivors asking for nerfs on spirit, killer mains are mad so they made a parody, same thing has been done for other killers on a less extent.
-
Yes/No

pls buff
No, no buff, he's already great in the right hands, demo main here btw so i know best :)
-
I am on the original xbox, that game's frames will preform great at first then drop HEAVILY after multiple killer matches gradually forcing constant restarts to prevent constant fps loss.
I shouldn't be loosing fps at all as my xbox runs much better looking and demanding games with ZERO loss of performance.
-
I just want the fps killer glitch that forces you to restart your game every few matches lest you want to deal with MASSIVE fps drops in every match you go into to. And it only happens for killer which is insane
-
I Think he is perfectly fine as he is, I don't want him changed at all as I main him and make him work despite his fair shortcomings, every part of his kit takes skill and planning, make that easier and all the survivors will be begging to nerf him.
