This perk and ds are mostly fine as they are now, but when you combine the two its not very fair at all.
This is one of the problems I have with the survivor meta. Stacked second chance perks with little to no risk involved.

The fact killers simply have to finish match to get their crowns, while survivors such as myself have to endure several matches of camping, tunneling and being face camped to even just get one crown is absurd. These past two days I've faced the worst of the worst, going out of there way to be extremely campy, tunnely and toxic. I've barely made it out alive, which can be attributed to being lucky and finding the hatch. The only time I've had an easy game where I get out with a crown is against a rank 20 killer. imo this even is god awful and horrifically unbalanced in favor of the killers; then again, that's usually the case.
Oh how the tables have turned!

Disagree, it hasn't made killers "stronger", it has brought them up to a more even plain of field.
Yes, survivors have been substantially nerfed, because they were substantially stronger as well. All the things you mentioned were MoM level of brokenness, it's a miracle the game survived the way it was.
I don't dismiss the fact that they have, indeed, been moving towards a more balanced game, albeit I can't help but to notice that killers are still getting burnt out, which I reckon is due to some lingering issues.
My point here is to raise awareness of the constant frustration that seems to be endured by the killer community, to see if the devs can iron out the rough edges in order to make the game equally fun for both parts.
While I understand your efforts, I firmly believe that BHVR won't do anything about it simply because to me it seems that BHVR is more focused on making the game fun for survivors. I feel that the day BHVR decides to focus on what frustrates killer's, it'll be too late because the killer community will practically be dead!

The exact problem I have with DS! You play fair and you get hit with DS
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The issue with DS is the timer itself, it doesn't matter how long it lasts what matters is when it should be disabled. If a Survivor touches a gen, gets into a locker or if another Survivor is hooked the timer should drop to zero. It should be this way because if you can do any of those interactions you're obviously not being tunneled.
I feel like this simple change would fix the abuse of the perk.
2 things!
- BHVR themselves are saying that DS isn't a anti-tunnel perk (even though it activates and the only counterplay's to it is not to tunnel), their saying it's an anti momentum perk, which makes absolutely no sense to me since the whole killer roaster (besides Sally and Rin) has to rely on survivor's making mistakes in their chases and if the killer captilizes on their mistakes DS practically punishes the killer for being a killer.
- The main reason why I agree with what your saying is because I've had games where I'll hook 2 different survivor's and I'll still get punished because "I played well and the other 2 survivor's made mistakes"

So I'm going for 100% trophies. And obviously I need to do merciless with each killer. I'm not sure of the exact requirements for merciless rating. Could anyone explain it to me and offer tips for the harder killers? I've only played killer a little bit and I'm learning a lot from survive with friends and kill your friends.
Right now I only own the 4 newest dlcs but I am planning to buy the rest later.
It's best to go for killer adepts while your at the lower ranks simply because the high your killer rank, the more difficult and frustrating it becomes to get the adept achievements.

Just give us a perk that pauses hook progression whenever the killer is near the hook (let´s say.. kindred range) and NOT in a chase. There.. it´s fixed. Don´t even need to be survivor base kit.
I´m just saying that because I´ve been going against a lot of hard campers. I know the "counter" is doing gens but whoever is on hook is not having a great time, is it? And also, do we need more toxicity in this game? Give us a proper chance to fight it with a perk instead of giving us trash situational perks like blocking gens (repressed alliance)..
Step 1: Survivor's Gen Rush
Step 2: Open The Exit Gate's
Step 3: Escape
Problem solved on how to deal with camping killer's. There is literally no other way to punish camping killer, besides giving them less points and a depip for camping. Ik it sucks for the survivor that got camped, but y'all gotta realize that some sacrifices are needed to escape

The only problem with iris is that you see it always combined with belts... if you run iris you should just have 1 hatchet. That’s all.
Here's the other problem with iri heads! Survivors refuse to even try weather or not it's stacked with another add-on
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fAYoznKPlNg -
Sorry guys, but I gotta revive this so I can get an answer from BHVR
-
@Poweas said:
So this rework just popped into my head when I woke up, but what if Iri Head were to only instadown 24 metres away (number can be adjusted)? That'd give it actual skill, and good Huntresses would be able to still down you very easily, but you'd actually feel outplayed by the killer, instead of the broken addon. It'd also provide Iri Head good counterplay, since you can just stay somewhat close to the Huntress.
It doesn't exactly nerf the addon's strength, since she can still instadown, but it makes it require way more skill, so only good players will get real value out of it.
Now put yourself in Huntresses shoes! Are you literally going to wait for a survivor to be 24m+ just to have a slim to no chance to get an instadown? Are you literally gonna measure out 24m+ mid match?
The only reason why I disagree is because nobody is gonna measure out 24m+ to get an instadown. I would rather change the add-on to were in order to get the instadown she has to fully wind up to get the instadown, but wind up time is tremendously increase

Just had a game on Midwich. Passed by several gens on the opposite side of a wall that got done only moments later that made ZERO noise when I was patrolling. This in turn caused me to face check every single gen which wasted a ton of time. Don't even get me started on survivors making zero sound.
It's not just the map or the ambience either; I've been able to hear generators through the same walls before and even through walls/floors on other maps such as the Game. Sound will either work or it won't; it seems to be quite random at this point.
Are we going to have to wait months for this to get fixed? It makes ######### severely unfair on the killer's end because you are denied a ton of info that you need. If I can't hear the generators I assume they either aren't being worked on or aren't even on at all, which is info that this bug completely voids. So this leads to face checking every gen which will cause you to just lose very precious time better spent elsewhere, since survivors could be working on gens on the other side of the map without you knowing until the gens pop, and by that point it's already too late.
As a Spirit main, I picked up on the sound bugs right away, and it baffles me because they make a killer that revolves around sound, but they don't address sound bugs. Especially the fact that BHVR is well aware that sound is crucial for killers!
@EvilJoshy said:

I mean to be fair we should be nice to everyone, but especially when it comes to new or low low rank players. As a red survivor if you get a rank 14-20 killer you know it almost immediately... just be chill with them. I’m not saying let them win, but don’t go so try hard that you need to pallet stun and chain blind them over and over. And when you’re done with gens just open the gate and leave, don’t draw the game out teabagging at the exit. I go so far if the killer gets maybe 0-3 hooks all game that I actually hang around and let him kill me without making it obvious.
As a red killer if the survivors seem like they have no looping or basic fundamentals don’t slug and get the 5 gen 4k in like two minutes. Hook a couple and then wander off, let them desert and do it again. After you get some hooks and they get some altruism then shut it down.
We need more players. The game is overwhelming at the starts now with 20 killers and almspst 100 perks on each side.
While I agree with what your saying, toxicity and bullying will always exist until the player gets a taste of the same medicine while playing the other side.
When PH got released I was getting bullied by the same swf and I could tell that they had a new survivor so I just left her alone, but the other 3 survivors bullied the mess out of me. An hour later when I ran into them again, I bullied the 3 survivors leaving the baby Meg alone with Spirit!
In other words what I'm saying is that this community has yet to expirence or understand "if you don't like it, or want that done to you while playing the other side, than don't do it"
-
My only proble with DS is that it can punish killer's for playing fairly

@SpaceCoconut said:
The devs like cooldowns nowadays... give it a 60 second cooldown.
I have to agree with Space 2 reasons!
- It takes away the element of surprise from stealth killer's and having to moonwalk constantly to avoid the perk is just stupid
- Vault build! The devs implemented the slow vault for a reason, and the fact that Spine Chill is 1 of the 2 or 3 perks to help bypass that, something needs be addressed about it which is why I think it needs to be put on a cooldown
-
I stopped using him after day 1! He's weak imo and I consider him the king of tunneling and camping (play styles I'm against). But than again I'm never excited for licensed killer's because they're always trash and become forgotten about after 2 weeks.

I've been excited for lisa since she was announced and now there's a bunch of killers trying to ruin my games for playing her. Excuse me for buying one of my favorite video game characters of all time and just trying to have fun. STOP DOING THIS, YOU'RE KILLING THE GAME WITH YOUR TOXICITY.
You act like survivor's don't so this as well! In the pictures below, this was a swf that bullied me while I was playing PH, and when I asked them in postgame chat why they felt the need to bully me? They said "Because gen rushing is boring and interacting with the killer and making them feel like **** is fun." When I ran into the an hour later and gave them a taste of their own medicine, this was the final product
Message I'm trying to get through to you guys is "If you don't ######### like it or want it done to you, than don't ######### do it"

It's a cheap "get out of jail" card that punishes killer for doing their job. Survivors that use this only have it because they can't properly avoid the killer.
And people say it's to combat tunneling, but tunneling is a myth, as it's just a legit strategy since it's always better to go after the hooked survivor since they're injured. gen rushing is what dbd should combat.
Removed? No! Addressed? Yes! Any killer that tunnels deserves to get hit by DS, any killer that doesn't tunnel and plays fairly doesn't deserve to get hit with DS for doing what they are suppose to do.

Worst thing about PH is how easily you can abuse his projectile attack. Its easy to dodge but when he holds it at Pallets or Windows it doesn't matter what you choose to do because he can just cancel his attack and immediately hit you.
Choose to vault the Window? Projectile will hit you. Choose to fake the vault? Instant cancel into M1. There seriously needs to be some kind of minor punishment to prevent this kind of thing. Yes, PH isn't overpowered by any means but he ruins the PvP aspect of the game by making it brainless for both sides.
Also, ######### the bugs this update. Killer is unplayable thanks no sounds. Thanks BHVR
So your saying that you want him to be punished for making reads and/or for using his power?

Listen before you surv mains get but hurt at different colored from ranks 20 to 1 gen time should be increased by an extra 10 to 20 seconds and every color rank change to rise to that gen time adds that 10 to 20 seconds more to each rank
Imo gen speeds are't the problem! I believe the problem lies within
- Lack of viability and mobility in killers
- Map Sizes
- Lack of objectives for survivors
1 of these 3 things needs to be addressed and I would rather much it be number 3 because all of these have huge advantages it would give killers. Addressing number 1 could make killer's OP, address number 2 could make S and A tier killer's too powerful, and addressing number 3 could screw over solo survivor's. Imo I think BHVR should have stuck with their idea of bringing solo survivor to the strength of swf and than went from their.

As both killer and survivor i find it absolute bullshit. Happens in a good chunk of my games. When someone does it, either because they don't like the killer or they don't like that they were first downed. It completely ruins the game, basically guarantees the killer will win, and also makes the killer lucky to black pip. It's bad for everyone in the game and there is no excuse to not treat it the same as a D/C
I play both sides but I have to agree to disagree! I'm all about points, fun and improving my gameplay. Survivor's that suicide on hook are some of the most entitled player. I hate playing against Billy because he's not fun to play against, but that is a pitful excuse to kill myself on hook, when I can literally either get as many points til I die, or I can improve my gameplay against him. The reason why I disagree with you is because I firmly believe that nobody should be forced to stay in a game that they don't wanna be in, but that is also a entitled statement.
Holy ######### the entitled statements on this thread, I'm sorry but just because you kept the killer occupied for 3 minutes doesn't mean your entitled to a free escape or that you should killer yourself on hook. I've been in the same situation before, but because I decided to keep playing all four of us escaped. Like damn man, does anyone play for points or to better there skill anymore.

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop playing with Spirit, chase music has been loud for so long that I learned to focus my hearing on certain things such as survivor's regular breathing and footsteps! Just give me some practice time on the map and trust me the map sounds won't bother me

Only reason why I hate the map is simply because it's loud and me being a Spirit main, I will happily take a DC penalty rather than play on a map that takes away one of my senses

I played him on the PTB, I also played against him. Facing him is too easy, unless survivors are potatoes. I looped a decent one for 2 pallets and 2 gens popped. It's insane (red ranks, of course) but this is how the game is now.
-He has no map pressure or mobility.
-His secondary attack is awkward to say the least.
-His cages most of the time play against you unless you want to avoid a DS or something.
-He has no slow down perks. And mostly his perks are really bad.
I'm trying the adept, I'm downing survivors left and right, still getting gen rushed because the killer is like a bubba without a chainsaw or any information perk (like BBQ) that gives you map control or map information. If I kill them all, I get a Ruthless killer, but that's about it.
Everyone is excited, but he'll be forgotten after a few weeks, maybe used by Otz for some meme build or something, but nothing more. Mark my words.
Sorry if I offend any Silent Hill fan, but the truth should not hurt.
I have to agree. Nothing feels different about him, and he is severely punished for using his power!
Just let the community have fun with him for now, I had 3 games as Spirit today and survivor's were DCing left and right

i keep listening and reading about Killer mains saying Survivors have to many second chance perks, that everyone use only meta perks. but i also read and listen to them saying "nerf this and that perk" example Mettle of Man.
When mettle of man came out for the first time it was Broken af but after the first nerf it was pretty good but somehow killer mains still complained about how broken it still was when you needed 3 unhooks to get that perk activated.
now i listen to people saying the upcomming perk is to strong for the new survivor what will give you the BT effect and they again ask for a nerf. now the real question is.. are you really sick of people using only DS,Adren,BT or do you just want them to use these perk? if you really want them to use something different why you want everything to get nerfed? that is not how it works. you cant ask all the time for a nerf and then complain about "every survivor use the same build" well maybe because of that reason?
Anyways i took a look ingame to the perks of survivors and i saw exactly 20 useful perks you could use in rank1 against rank 1 killers.
then i went to killer perks to see how many useful perks killers have and i count 36 + all different killers you can play + synergy of some builds.
for survivors you dont have the choice if you wanna win. means no meme builds. with the +50survivor perks you can maybe do 3-4 synergized perk builds what will help you to win.
now here are the perks if you're intersted on my list.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/52QXBY8TC5IB/20200610144753-1.jpg
Now the question here is do you really want people to use perks like Streetwise, Vigil, Autoditact (what is never working because of RNG) or lightweight? or do you really want to ask all the time for a nerf for a good perk so survivors are forced to use the Meta to have a chance or fun in a game?
Killer mains need to stop with thinking every game is against a SWF. you maybe wont belive it but there also people like me who play solo, or duo. so do everyone a favor and stop asking for a nerf and maybe ask for a buff for the bad survivor perks and maybe people start using them? i guess that is enough ranting against the MAIN player.
maybe change your mind and try the opposite side? you'll get more understanding about everything.
The reason why killers are asking for strong survivor perks to be nerfed, is simply because the synergy of them is unfun to deal with.
-
Imo gens aren't the problem, it's the lack of objectives survivors have!
-
Play killer for a change and maybe you'll understand why the game isn't killer sided!

SO DS has a 5 second stun right? And people mostly use it because they get tunneled off hook.
Killers on the other hand are frustrated because they hook 2 persons inbetween and still get DSd.
So how about this:
DS has a 60 second timer after the unhook.
if the killer picks them up again while DS is still active they get stunned automatically (remove skillcheck)
and the duration of the stun is connected to how much of the timer is left.
60-50 seconds: 6 second stun
49-40 seconds: 5 second stun
39-30 seconds: 4 second stun
29-20 seconds: 3 second stun
19-10 seconds: 2 second stun
9-0 seconds: 1 second stun
The stun isn't the only problem! It's the fact that for how strong the perk is, there is no risk or downside to it for the survivor! I would change it to where if the killer hooked another survivor, any active DS time deactivates.
But that's just me being bais to my own playstyle!
-
To all of you saying "Have a good headset" shoot yourself in the ######### foot! Both games were 4 mans. I played the same way in both games, they were back to back games in fact. 1 team did gens very efficiently, they split up and had gens done before I could pop my tier 3 twice. The other team did not do gens efficiently, they stayed grouped up and allowed me to be very effective with t3.
Its not swf, its the strategies they use and gen speeds. Swf doesnt need to be nerfed, gen speeds directly shouldnt be nerfed, the game needs secondary objectives.
The team I beat I was always going to beat because they played poorly. The team i lost to I had 0 chance to beat unless I basement camped AND they made the mistake of being overly altruistic. And there in lies the problem, to beat these teams you can only do so if they make mistakes.
Its not ranks, its not swf, its nothing being in between the survivors and doing gens except 1 killer who cant be in 4 places at once. Thats it.
@Dehitay said:
SWF groups need extra objectives that solo players don't. Something like the entity blocking off the exit gates for SWF players until a totem is cleansed for each member on the team and a chest is opened for every 2 people on the team.
Here's my 2 cents about giving survivor's a second objective! While I agree with your idea, it'll screw over solo survivor's. And not only that, I technically see it as a nerf to survivor (Please try to change my mind if you can), nerfing survivor's will make killer's like Trapper, Leatherface, and Clown stronger. But it will make killer's Nurse, Spirit, and Billy way too strong!

@Reinami said:
What you said is partially true. This game SHOULD be balanced around the highest level SWF gameplay. Every game should be balanced around the highest level play. However, in the top level play it is still clear that survivors have an advantage. Although with the previous changes that advantage is much lessened.
What needs to be done to fix this game is to give solo survivors the same power as SWF. And that power is information. When playing in a SWF, discord basically gives you the following perks for free:
- Aftercare
- Alert (you know where broken pallets are)
- Babysitter
- Better Together
- Bond
- Buckled up (at least half of the perk)
- Empathy
- Kindred
- Open Handed (effectively infinite range on all your "perks" from discord)
- Wake up!
That's 10 perks for free. On top of getting things that perks can't give you such as:
- Communicating how many totems are left
- Communicating the exact position of hex totems you saw
- Communicating what perks the killer has ("hey he has pop, he broke a pallet fast he has brutal" etc.)
- Knowing exactly when a chase starts and when you can safely do gens
- Knowing exactly what killer it is as soon as someone spots them
- Knowing the position of the killer most of time (worse with Object of Obsession)
- Being able to communicate hook saves.
- Knowing the exact progress of all the generators being worked on
- The list goes on and on
The way they fix this game is by giving more information to solo survivors. Do the following:
- Survivors now see the aura of all other survivors are at all times with unlimited distance.
- Kindred is now baseline for all survivors (also helps with camping)
- Survivors get an icon that shows when they are being chased
- Add a totem counter to the UI
- Rebalance/fix/rework all of the perks this effects to do something else.
- Make WGLF baseline, for Bloodpoints (i'd argue the bloodpoint bonus for BBQ should also be baseline)
Now buff killers to compensate. This brings solo players more in line with SWF and closes the gap more. So now killers don't feel so helpless against SWF depip squads, and survivors don't feel so helpless when playing solo.
This was BHVR's original intent! Idk abandon the idea, but I believe if they stuck with bringing solo survivor up strength with SWF than we would be in a more balanced state, but they insist on nerfing survivor's instead

all u killer mains are still cryin over ur ruin, oh ma ruin got nerfed boohoo, move on and use thantaphobia, ma hooks got sabotaged oh no how awful ppl should do a challenge, plus try and save a team mate from gettin hooked, half of u play so toxic it's unreal and then wonder why survivors start tbaggin, funny how survivors adapt and killers still ask for more nerfs after most pallets in map are removed, maps have been shrunk, loops reworked on the killers favour, toolboxes nerfed, talk about entitled, and we're actually forced to run BT, unbreakable, DS, and IW due to most killers 'strategy' campin and tunnelin off the hook,oh.. and left to bleed out on the floor
It's not about ruin anymore! It's about bringing balance and trying to give the non-viable killer's a chance. Nurse, Spirit, Billy, etc. are the only top tier killer's because they could waste time dealing with strong and un-mindgameable loops and if they couldn't, they had the map pressure to drop a chase. Leatherface and Clown couldn't because their map and chase pressure is #########. It's not fun being on a map where survivor's can go from loop to loop with a window right there, and not being able to do anything about it except drop the chase and go find another survivor just to have 3 gens pop, and than have another gen or two pop by the time you get your first hook! But god forbid when the killer is Nurse or Spirit (Killer's that force survivor's to use different tactics) that killer needs to be nerfed because they have great map pressure, and you can't mindlessly loop them.
Those perks are YOUR choice of using, no killer's shouldn't be a reason you are forced to run perks!

Why is their such a lack of variety when it comes to viable high rank killers? Unless you want to get stomped by a gen jockey swf your only choice is spirit or freddy (console btw). Docter works sometimes but he can underperform some of the time. Theres so much potential for some of the killers in this game but they're so underplayed because of how weak they are.
Red ranks is very very stressful for killer's and if the killer makes a single mistake, that mistake can cost them the game. The reason why you might not be seeing other killer's as much is because of the lack of viability in other killer's. Spirit is 1 of 2 killer's to when it comes to chase's she has the upperhand. As a Spirit main myself I use her at red ranks because I don't wanna spend the whole match being looped and having to depend on survivor's to make a mistake just for me to get a down

I'm sorry, but after facing my 5th game in a row with an Iridescent camping Huntress it gets old. Something seriously need to be done because it's extremely toxic and OP to run that with Infantry Belt. It's extremely ridiculous that it's a thing. Any survivor will agree with me, killer you think it's okay (which I understand) but come on, we all already hate each other enough.
The add-on is fine! It literally has the same counterplay when Huntress doesn't have Iri Heads!

That's not necessarily true! I don't find survivor boring because because it's not as interactive as killer. Now a mechanic that I find boring as killer is looping, I mean sure survivor's should be able to loop, it's the fact that majority of the killer roaster is vulnerable to looping and have to resort to the same tactic.

As a killer main, I have to agree with @Orion! Not because I'm a killer main, but simply because there's 4 survivor's. If you've play in a SWF you'll get what I'm throwing at you.
Let's say it's you, Dwight, David, and Kate. Dwight will be on his second hook next hook, David is on his last hook and being tunneled, and Kate has only been hooked once, and you haven't been hooked yet. David is being tunneled and all of you are nearby to keep David alive. Dwight takes a hit to protect David, which slows the killer down, it's now up to you and Kate to block the killer and take a hit to protect daddy and David. One of y'all take the hit and the other takes a hit. After everybody took a hit David is long gone and everybody has scattered and trying to heal and the the killer is chasing the 4th person that got hit.
This is the best I can do on why I believe the killer should be the power role, and why all 4 survivor's working together should either be on par or make the killer struggle in a 4v1

I asked a dev on here about an update about it and they said "We are working on it"
That was 6 months ago they told me that, and when I asked again at the 5 month mark I was told "It's a latency issue". So there you have it! It's probably gonna take 8yrs for them to fix the bug along with the rest of the bugs that impact killer's such as THE BUGS THAT MAKE NURSE UNFUCKING FUN TO PLAY AS!!

A lot of killer's feel like looping was never intended to be a thing. But than again looping is the reason why I am a retired Nurse main and a Spirit main. I hate dealing with looping because there is nothing interesting about it and some killer's can't depend on their power to deal with looping, most loops survivor's will have the advantage in the loop simply because The Red Stain exist. Nurse and Spirit force survivor's to resort to different tactics instead of looping and some survivors want them nerfed because of that. Imo I feel that looping shouldn't be a thing because it gets redundant that almost whole killer roaster is affected by looping. Imo I would just get rid of the red stain, but that is my survivor bias speaking because I have a lot of fun guessing which way to go when it comes to Spirit or a killer that has Dark Devotion

It's just true. Almost all Survivors want to be chased and have a challenging match. Especially at high ranks.
Doing gens and escaping isn't the fun part of this game. It's being pressured and feeling like the match could go either way. Having stressful chases and amazing clutch moments. Survivors might complain a lot, but they really do want good Killers. Not campers, no ed users or babies that don't even resemble a challenge.
The problem with this logic is that when survivors face a good killer. They claim that the killer is broken and cry nerf

So the same Nurse Mains that did easily 4k as old basekit nurse are still 4king with nee basekit nurse. Just not that ridiculous easy. If you will deny this fact you obviously never played against such nurses on a daily basis before her nerf. The nerf just sorted out those bad addon nurses, basically wannabes. Thats also a good thing.
It's not about the 4k's. Majority Nurse main's vanished because she's unfun to play as. There's nothing fun about her anymore. I still 4k with her, but she annoying to play as now simply because she is the slowest moving character in the game and she has to depend on her blinks to even remotely catch up to survivors, but the devs force her to walk on foot at 96% for 6 seconds because fatigue time (something that she has control over how long it lasted) wasn't a long enough cooldown. Ardetha the notorious Nurse main in the community, doesn't like playing her anymore because he' not having fun with her.
