That wasn't the point of my post, the point was these ideas are not going to fix the main issue that is The Legion.
He was flawed at the start because of his add-ons and various bugs that I am STILL surprised they didn't catch before his release... What he used to be was actually one of the most unique Killers DBD ever had, and that's what made him fun.
For context, he was nerfed into the ground because everyone was demanding it day by day by day by day. And either the devs couldn't handle the whining anymore, or they just didn't know what to do with him after people started disliking him "Aka, mostly Survivors and Killers that didn't know how to utilize him..."
In the future, i'll probably make a huge in-depth post on this issue, and see what can be done about him for the future. But as of right now, the points you listed are some of the points that people were complaining for days about in the first place...
The changes I've listed are what would make Legion seem more like himself, and not like an m1 killer with an injure ability. If people really don't like that then I think it's time to lay off the skins and new chapters and start reworking legion completely.
-
@FireHazard said:
Here's a counter to all these points except the last one.
- Having that be the case would have Legions easily catch up to Survivors after a hit, and it also allows them to just FF everyone in sight who was close to that hit, and nobody I know here likes to mend, heal, mend, heal, mend heal...
- You can still frenzy people despite the decrease in speed, the only thing that's changed is HOW easy it was TO frenzy people... And people hated that...
- If they added that people would be so mad everytime a Legion FFs the entire team, you'd never have a solid get away, he'd know everywhere you're at all times... And also, nobody liked mending for a long time back then, and they still don't now...
- That'd make the blades another add-on to get redone, and ultimately they'd just make it some add-on that increases hemorrhaging again for the 500th time... It'd make them useless is what i'm saying.
- I'll agree with this because the pin add-ons are useless anyways... This isn't anything to really be against.
Then just delete legion and give people back the money they spent in form of auric cells, if all my ideas suck then Legion was just a hopeless project from the start and should be gone asap.

I got Steve not because of his perks but because he has the best hair...
I've told myself to lay off the fashion, that includes league skins, dbd skins and buying survivors that I won't constantly play/don't have perks I need.

@Mochan said:
It looked good on paper but after trying it it sucks.
It's a bit like Deliverance, but I actually think Deliverance is better. I went through five matches before I could even get to use Second Wind.
You won't always get the chance to heal another survivor in matches, and even when you do sometimes it doesn't activate because you need to do all the healing yourself. They should have given it a bar that fills up each time you do a healing action instead.
The way the perk works right now it's useless and pathetic.
Inner Strength is far, far superior.
And that's why they ain't getting my money from Steve.
-
@BloodyNights said:
After trying it, I'd say...it's not worth a perk slot over all. A lot of the time you can go through matches and not get the chance to heal someone before you get hooked twice. Because you can't just help heal someone you have to fully heal someone by yourself. And if they self cared, or a teammate came and helped you heal it won't activate.
It also leaves you in a broken status after the unhook, making killers want to tunnel you just so it can't activate.
It does have some weird bug were if you were hooked with adrenaline and it active. You can basically will get healed to full, and it will begin to heal you, potentially meaning you could take 3 hits before going down at the end game phase. But I'm sure it will get patched out.
Well in that case I ain't getting Steve lol, only Nancy.
-
@Mochan said:
Let's not spread the word you know this is gonna get nerfed if we keep this up.
It's only truly useful in a combo with DS and Head On. If they disable DS while in lockers, IS will get shadow nerfed automatically.

I got revealed somehow when Whispers wasn't on. Then I played another game, saw someone had OoO, and wondered why I continue to play this trash-tier killer.
That's because you're not meant to play him the way devs want you to, you're meant to play him for stealth and stealth alone, not even trying to stalk. Slapping on recovery add-ons and an anti-healing build is the best you can do for GF.
-
I used to let Jane's escape as the last survivor, but once I started playing Jane myself, I've stopped respecting everything.
-
Why are keys, toolboxes, instaheals, current ds and adrenaline a thing?
-
@altruistic said:
Mori’s are pretty terrible mechanics of the game.
I would be all for removing them in trade for insta heals and skeleton keys. I don’t think anyone would take the offer though.
I'd trade my ebony (not ivory), noed, tombstone, tuft, iri head, instasaw on Billy, prayer beads,+blinks and omega blink on Nurse for both keys, instaheals, toolboxes, DS and Adrenaline.
-
@RakimSockem said:
Oof. F's in chat for the new guy running into his first Mori.
Real talk though, as broken as Mori's are, they are really cool animations and sometimes fun to watch. I promise you it isn't going anywhere.
Animations are the only reason mori will never go, ebony might, Ivory won't AND shouldn't.
-
If they run inner strength with that build, you can just grab them out of the locker. They can't just cheese you with it because they don't have DS nor Head On. Second Wind only activates 30 seconds after getting unhooked. You can catch them easily in 30s AND, if they're affected by deep wounds from BT, Second Wind will remove the deep wound instead of healing them. Dead Hard, while bullshit from time to time, can be easily baited. I will agree with you on Adrenaline killing potential pressure tho.
-
How about we update Trapper in general first?
-
Sorry, but I myself have gotten genrushed like this too many times to care. I just sigh in despair, play another killer game if that was my first one, or switch to survivor for the rest of the day. This has been in the game for the longest time, it's obvious that the devs don't wanna do anything about it but add plasterfix perks like ruin, pop, corrupt, discordance and surveillance.
-
I consider my annoyance by those actions to be more mature than the person doing it. You have to be special kind of damaged to get your kicks out of annoying people online.
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
@MemberBerry I'm amazed at how quickly people figure out clever ways to abuse new perks. Well I'm not going to be the one that says DS shouldn't activate from being pulled out of a locker.
Feel free. As long as you're not #########-talking someone else, feel free to say whatever.

That is why I think it's not broken, because there are requirements to be met. But, if many killers are not able to tell when a survivor jumps in a locker mid-chase, they will increase the time, up to 20 seconds maybe, in order to nerf its in-chase heal potential.
That's not really how that goes. A combo of IS, Head On and DS puts a killer in a situation where they HAVE to leave you. DS plays the biggest role here, not IS. If they grab you from the locker, you can DS away. If they leave you there completely, you get a full heal and still keep DS. If they decide to wait there, you can stun them with head on AFTER you've healed. So in reality, Inner Strength is just adds up to a combo that was already good.
-
@YaiPa said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/697204#Comment_697204
Absolutely no, but as devs many times proved, they listen to brown to green ranks players.
If a large majority of players will complain one day about inner strength, they will nerf it.
I mean, MoM really was game-breaking, IS and SW aren't. They waste time cleansing a random totem and they need another 2 perks to make IS useful.
-
@YaiPa said:
As now, yes. But you know, Ash was super worth for MoM when he came out, now is pretty much a waste of money perk-wise.
1 question, do you find any of those 6 perks as game-breaking as MoM once was?
-
@8obot1c said:
You should get Steve and Nancy. Steve’s perks are more fun to use then Nancy and help the team out. Nancy’s perks are personal benefit and give information perks.
When I decide whether to use perks, I ask 1 simple question- "how often will I find myself needing this?". I'll use babysitter because BT exists, that and I tend to unhook wisely. Cameradarie is good on paper, but I will also never find myself using it. Second wind is, well, fitting for an unhooker build, so I'll give you that.
-
I only use it if I truly have nothing better to use.

I can guarantee that the report system does something. I used to be an ACM before becoming a community manager and I can promise that there are people looking at those reports. They didn't pay us to stand around and look pretty, sadly.
For the switch roles button; this is a side effect of the lobby changes in 3.2.0. Since the SWF option has been merged with the solo option, the button needed to be removed. Otherwise, you could have a friend join your lobby, switch to killer, and then be able to play killer with your friends in a public match. That's not something we could have.
These changes also allowed us to automatically regroup people with their friends after a match, something that we've been requested for a long time. When we look at the two options- delay the whole feature so we can update that one button, or remove the button for the time being- the choice was pretty clear. We opted to add the feature that people have been asking for sooner rather than letting a single button hold everything back.
Okay fair enough, but will the button ever come back?
-
Boi gimme a link to that tier list I'm about to show you the true tier list.

Efficiency wise:
S: Ace, Claudette, Jane (thiccbutt is best)
A: All female survivors with quieter breathing
B: All female survivors with louder breathing
C: Skinny male survivors
D: Bulky male survivors with quieter breathing
E-F: Bulky male survivors with loud breathing
Looks wise
S: Jane, Feng, Jeff, Kate
A: Nancy, Steve, Ace
B: Ash, Bill, Tapp, Adam,
C: Meg, Claudette, Dwight,
D: Jake, Laurie, David
E-F: Nea, Quentin (at least before the remodel)
-
2 things I will agree one are the useless report system and the needless removal of the switch button.
-
I love DBD because, despite it's many issues, it's the only true survival game that managed to bring so much licensed content. Myers, Freddy, Ghostface etc. are all some of the most famous slashers ever, and the fact that they're playable for like 5$ each is what truly makes this game shine for me. Of course, originals are amazing too, but licensed content is what truly brought people here. I should know, Myers brought me to this game.

Not the only one. You have to completely buy the first 10 bloodwebs anyway. Why is there no option to do this with one menu item or button ? Or if you dont care about what gets selected in a remaining bloodweb, why force the user to click through ALL remaining buttons and not have an option to randomly select whats left.
Exactly.
-
@Sheldor said:
Because they are as bad at UI design as they are at fixing bugs, code testing and balancing the game.
Figure yourself opening MS Word because you need to write a letter.
Then the Software shows an intro screen with a helicopter flight around MS headquarters that you can abort with a mouse click. Next they ask you in a popup if you really want to open MS Word which you have to acknowledge with a mouse click. Next they show you a camera rounding Bill Gates head that you have to watch for 5 s every time you open the program. The whole program has only one button that you have to use pressing the space bar and its function depends on where the mouse is relative to said button.
Every action results in a popup that you have to OK every time. "File has been saved." OK "Font has been changed" OK "Document has been printed" OK "Spell checking completed" OK
The popup shows up at a random position on the screen.
6 months after you bought the software they decide that the mouse must only be operated with the left hand, otherwise they will revoke your license for 1 day, 2 weeks, permanently on the 1st/2nd/3rd offense. They employ 3 people to check recordings that the program makes and handle the bans.
In V1.1 patch they "enhance" the UI by a second button. But unfortunately you can no longer save files that you created. That is fixed in patch 1.2 but then you can no longer change fonts or print documents....
DBD projected to the real world....
I'm salty because this helps NOBODY. It's not killer biased, it's not survivor biased, it's just an annoyance.

I switch sides almost every game. Playing survivor gets really ######### boring after a couple of matches cause it's kinda too easy. Playing killer after a couple matches gets annoying because it's starting to get stressful. Keeping it fresh is how I can continue to play this game. Why you here to just ######### at other people?
Also another reason why the removal wasn't necessary at all.

12% wasn't either with the 24 meter range
It's like "I fixed your leg but broke your arm" kind of thing

Uhhhh what... you must obviously play at rank 20 if you think nurse, spirit and billy aren't the most intimidating/strongest killers in the game.
And lmao what? "toolboxes make you not fear failure" ????? how does it make you not fear failure???? it's literally just an increase in repair speed how does that change fear of failure.
Anyway I'm done with this part of the thread, I'm going back to talking about atmosphere
I never called them weak, they just aren't scary. It's fun to verse them because it involves mindgames.

Point 3 is invalid because these 3 killers that you mentioned (billy, nurse and spirit) are intimidating, and thus, scary. When I first started playing, the revving of billy's chainsaw would be enough to scare me.
Toolboxes? BNP for sure. But toolboxes in general did not make the game less scary.
Intimidating? Only time those 3 are intimidating is when you're the last survivor during EGC. Otherwise they're simply fun. Toolboxes make you not fear failure whatsoever.

If you're not winning against SWF you are kinda bad at the game.
Not all SWF are god commando squads. If you can't win against SWF you are just not as good at this game as you think you are. Leave the ego at the door and look at the game objectively.
As for what is going to be done about SWF?
It's clear as day the Devs are supporting it 100% and even sanctioning it. The new Party feature thing in the upcoming patch will institutionalize SWF even further. It's clear that BHVR wants to encourage everyone to SWF.
"If you can't win against an opponent who has an overwhelming advantage over you as a non-nurse non-spirit killer, you suck at the game" Yeah guys, listen to Mr. 10k hours over here, he definitely constantly faces against cream of the crop swf teams all on comms, all optimal loopers all hitting ruin skill checks all with ds, adrenaline, 3 toolboxes and a key.

Survivor has been nerfed consistently over the last three years so killers are in a good spot. Don't pretend they aren't. The actual official game stats aren't with you.
Flashlights got nerfed a long time ago.
Adrenaline was there from Day 1. The only reason it became meta, is because healing got nerfed to the ground.
And you can complain all you want about toolboxes and instaheals, killers still have moris and instadowns and several ways to defend gens and slowdown repair.
I wonder where you read me calling flashlights OP, I specifically said for BM-ing purposes. Also I'll happily trade my ebony mori (not ivory tho), noed and haunted grounds for your toolboxes, instaheals, keys and ds
-
The horror in dbd died when:
- People realized survivor was the power role
- Flashlights got implemented ( for BM purposes)
- DS, Adrenaline, instaheals, toolboxes and keys got implemented
- The loudest, most alerting killers became the best killers (billy, nurse, spirit without prayer beads)
-
Only time I'll dodge is if they have more than 2 toolboxes or a key, everything else is a green light for me.

Yup. Don't play it. Mattieuw — or however you spell his name — even said it himself. He said "go play Civ 6." You can't expect every one to like every game. I suppose it's a problem for people wanting to like it, but if you don't, you're just like every one else who has their own preferences, dude. Nothing wrong with that.
Maybe your low-tier opinions on fun and games shouldn't be taken seriously whatsoever, hm?
-
@Angelicus23 said:
11€ if t's really 12$

That's your problem, not the game.
Yes it is the game problem. The main purpose of video games is fun, and if you aren't having fun and are instead sweating every game, why bother playing it?
-
DS - make it turn off when you go into a locker or when the killer hooks someone else. I don't want to hear any of that "durrhurr don't tuhnell 4head" bias please
Adrenaline - no longer ignores exhaustion, no longer gets saved if it doesn't activate when it's meant to
-
My biggest issue with this game as a killer main is the fact that killer players are expected to have superhuman skill to stand a chance while survivors can screw around most of the time.

Corn maps - It's hard to reveal him through the corn.
Red forest - It's not a bad for him, they're a lot of trees to hide behind.
Autohaven - A lot of titles are there, so he can still stick around them.
I mentioned Red forest because of size, so no map pressure to be had. I mentioned Autohaven because of 0 mindgame loops that he can do nothing about but get revealed through.

Survivors are already have a problem with revealing him, the addons for decreasing just make it harder for them. Also maps like Lery's, The Game or The Lab are just a heaven for him. I've faced a very good Ghostface's players that are very good with him.
Okay so what are you gonna do on maps that aren't Lery's, The game or Hawkins? What is GF gonna do on a big map like Red forest? Most farm maps? What is he gonna do on Autohaven maps? His reveal being bugged and him still struggling only shows how horrible a killer is that they need a bug to be barely decent.

Old Freddy is a special case. Back when the Devs had a very hilarious knee jerk reaction to complaints made by Rank 50 survivors. Ghost Face was fixed after the PTB, and can hold his own, except in the Corn Maps.
Legion might've not been good as a traditional killer, but they were fun to use by virtue of being pure speed. Now they are just... Sluggish.
I agree with everything but GF, he's become very weak.
