Slinger, Plague, Oni, I'm gonna say this and people might disagree, but Legion. Other than the blighted outfit and the bunny suits they feel too similar.
Survivors; Ace, Zarina, I'm also gonna say Nea.
this.
Honestly. the devs should really start making themed packages (like, outfits fitting for the various maps for all characters) or something. That'd be nice.
Also, give us a non-bald hatless slinger head.

As not everyone runs kindred, thus cannot see the aura of someone coming for them, and as threads complaining about various very visible killers not having counterplay 'because you don't see them' make it clear that people can't use their eyes... they prolly just don't know someone's coming for the rescue

I love how almost everyone is like "you're playing wrong". This mechanic is clearly broken. If all a killer has to do is stand in the basement hook with 1 perk (insidious) and wait to get a 4k something needs to change. He can even down you when someone rescues with bt.
Or how about when he proxy camps on the hill.
Or when he camps a basic hook.
Sure we can ignore the survivor on the hook. Get 2-3 gens done and lose the match anyway. Leaving the hooked man to have a pleasure of literally sitting there the whole match. Or we can try and save hoping he's not like every bubba out there who uses these strats.
And let's not even talk about using him best perk bbq.
Bubba needs a small rework. I propose a slight speed decrease OR the ability to only hit something with the chainsaw twice at which point the power stops. There's no reason he should be able to chase me up the basement steps while I have bt after downing 2 others.
The best way to fix it is to take away the multihit. it's that simple.
Bubba players often play as scummy as they do because that very mechanic rewards it. Billy has a harder time to multihit, so there it's easier to actually counter. But with bubba playing like a complete douchecanoe gets encouraged and rewarded by the design.
What I find hilarious, however, is seeing some people here wail on about 'you're playing wrong' when the mechanics means 'playing right' means giving up on the match (giving up on hooked survivors, not healing others), being the same people who throw a tantrum about how 'you can stealth against deathslinger and not every shot lands' is not a correct statement and ol' caleb should be removed from the game cause he's no fun to face...

If the l4d speculations are correct, the question is more: will Bill get more outfits?

They are called "challenges" for a reason. This is a PvP game, i.e. your opposition is always going to be opposing what you do, whatever it may be. If they are respecting your pallets, keep looping them there until they don't.
The issue is many of these challenges seem to be oblivious to how people play the game. On paper they are fine and they fit with the character, but in practice?
It's the same logical fallacy that brought us classics like 'OoO and DS are fine'

So some are a tad confused on things, so I’ll try my best to explain, and maybe even change the prompt. So first, I’ll change the date to 2019 so its the modern era but COVID isn’t a thing. Second, my original idea was that they still had all the powers the entity gave them (even if it doesn’t make sense lore wise). So they’ll be woken up in the exact place they died, with the power the entity gave them, in 2019.
May I be honest? Them still having their powers makes this a little boring. Especially when you break the prompt down:
-They have their supernatural abilities, meaning some of them are undead
-yet they are in the real, modern world, and will have to face ALL the stuff we're facing.
It's a bit dull, imo, as in many cases the answer as to 'what will happen' will be: they'll get killed/exorcised. That's it. You put them in 'the real world' covid and all coming, they'll get killed fairly quickly.

If you know it's Cannibal and you're together as soon as you hear the Terror Radius, maybe split up?
He carries a 1-shot, healing shouldn't be an incentive to stay together while he's coming for you.
If i get downed along with the 3 other Survivors, i'll either just blame us 4 for being there together, congratulate the Killer for accomplishing that, or both.
Why do people assume I am talking about regular situations?
I am very explicitly talking about moments where you have to be together, like unhooking something. No gameplay mechanic, no killer power should mean that unhooking someone is impossible because the killer-player is a douchebag and camps AND is rewarded for that.
Or am I wrong?

Do safe unhooks, don't do it while he is close, problem solved. If he camps do gens asap and escape, don't try to be hero
Again, because bubba can do this thing, so many play him like utter scum, aka camping in every form is a given.
So you might as well throw the game immediately
-
@Maperson said:
I mean if he downs more than one with his power that was already huge mistake made by you. He has a lot of counters, but you can always split up to avoid multi downs.
Pray tell how to scatter effectively upon unhooking.

You forgot Plague (with blood vomit) and Pyramid Head!
Plague needs to get Corrupt Purge first, so there's a warning. PH also has a build up. Billy is a little slower and the attack is different.
But bubba? as he is now all his mechanics reward playing like a complete scumbag. There's a reason why there's a ton of
'-rep bubba player' comments on steam profiles.
If you reward playing scummy, you'll get scummy players.
-
For everyone not having any reading comprehension apparently:
We are talking about situations where it is NOT possible to scram and scatter.
So you are saying that the sole counterplay against bubba... is not to play.
Because the issue is common situations: unhooking, healing.
By your justification for this nonsense, again, the only counterplay bubba has is not to play.

Yeah, I’ll edit that so it makes more sense.
To clarify:
You are talking they'd end up in the 2020 of their own timeline, alive and well-ish?
-
Just recently ended a friendship over someone revealing they are regularly using a hacking tool to get shards and unlock cosmetics, but said it's okay because they don't use the speed-hack feature etc of the same tool...
-
Also, people who insist non-colorblind people would use it to cheat never tell you 'how'.
Let's break things down:
Main issue are the auras and scratchmarks (and blood trails): If they would be changed to a different color in CBmode, no difference would come to it.
I don't know if people imagine a colorblind mode would me there'd be arrows popping up telling someone where a survivor ran etc or a voiceover telling you where what is....

if this results in less bubbas in the game, I'm happy

-
a few days back the devs opened up the possibility to link one's various accounts to a special account to enable crossprogression between the platforms one plays on.
there's issues with the friendlist since :(

Probably there'll be some challenges requiring it in this tome.
-
This is a known issue if one of you linked their account to a BHVR account. they're working on it

By experience as a middle-rank when I get matched with high rank survivors?
It's effective because people seem to lose all common sense.
Like... i usually run kindred. which means the team sees where others are when someone gets hooked. Do you know how often i witnessed an obvious swf jump up on me to all run to the hook to unhook while the hooking animation wasn't even through, and then they wonder why they get hit by the killer?
I had this on killer side all too often as well. Lambs to the slaughter is an utterly appropriate phrase here.
People seem so bloody eager to get the match done as quickly as possible that they lose all sense of anything.
Best part then is when you DON'T camp, but run lightborn cause there were 2-3 flashlights in the lobby and you get accused of cheating
-
Once again a thread that can be summarized as
'I, as survivor demand an iWin button'
And... I don't get it. Survivors have decent time to tell what they are going to do in a match when they are in soloQ, and assigning roles should be even easier in a swf.
Check if ruin is active, go look for totem.
But, eh, I forgot. If you have to go around doing totems, you'd have to be stealthy, that means you can't engage the killer in a chase and show off your h4xx0r l00ping skillz.

Well, my trans girlfriend agrees with me, so... And what I was getting at is that someone assigned male at birth tends to have a taller, more narrow pelvic bone.
I suppose facial features are more me stretching it cuz I rather hope she is revealed to be trans, and contouring being a thing can make your face look virtually however you want...
I get where you're coming from, though.
sorry to have misread you.
Just very used to getting the line of 'they don't look trans' from bastards when doing character designs and getting the whole 'you should dress more like your gender' irl... (surprise, I don't have one, what am I supposed to do? go naked?)

Honestly never really got those vibes myself. I do think that she might be trans, though. The strong jaw line, the high hips, etc.
That's mildly transphobic, y'know... the whole idea of 'i can tell someone's trans by looking at them'...

This Topic Again?
Since we're bringing this subject up again, let me ask you couple of question thou, let's just pretend for a moment that Springtrap does come into DBD, then what?
- How many people within the Fnaf fanbase do you realistically expect to actually find other reasons or interest outside of the Springtrap character itself to continue playing the game after the supposed crossover hype dies down?
- Have anyone within the Fanbase actually focused on other Aspects of the game itself other than the wanted crossover between Fnaf & DBD?
- And what if the Character isn't fun to play as or ends up being the weakest killer in the entire roster?
If anything, imo i honestly don't expect much in terms of playerbase increase for more than a couple of weeks.
this. the aspect of 'it will bring in the fans of X' is never a good argument. at best they'll just leave once the hype dies down, at worst they'll make the community even more toxic.
Also there isn't a guarantee that something WILL bring in 'fans of X', so the risk to have the devs spend a lot of money on licensing for nothing is high.
-
Seriously, the issue isn't with the offering, it's with the players.
There's people who act as if the BP-multiplier offerings that count for everyone only count for them. Like, c'mon, if you want more bloodpoints for yourself bring flowers/wreaths or escape cake, but leave the other cakes and streamers in your inventory
-
We can pin down Deathslinger to his early 40s.
We know he started working for bayshore when he 'came of age' (or a similar wording), so given the time he'd be around 16-18. Let say it didn't take long for bayshore to sell off caleb's patents, so the assault happened maybe 1-2 years later, making Caleb 18-20, maybe 21. That was in 1860, as we know from Zarina's lore. 15 years in prison, 6 years as bounty hunter makes 21, bringing caleb to somewhere between 39-42.
-
Doc is bloody annoying, but at least it's not your typical Bubba.
Cause, lbr. With Doctor, you can get players who play (semi)fair. Same with Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger (people, learn to stealth ffs).
Bubba (and Freddy) however? I have yet to see a single one of them who wouldn't play scummy to no end.
-
Not take it out on the next group, unless it's the same survivors again.
Like, why make someone pay for someone else's behaviour? Likewise, when I get survivors who played well in a match yet died in a row, i'll let them farm.

If he can see you he can shoot you. That's literally all you need to know, the hitbox of his spear can literally go in-between the planks of wood on the pier on the swamp maps.
wrong.
-
@ALostPuppy said:
Deathslinger, Hag, Spirit and Nurse all fall into the "do gens and don't give chases because they're bs in one" category. It's not skillful or interactive or fun in the slightest but it's how you win against them. There is counterplay but the counterplay isn't skillful or meaningful in any way, you're essentially trying to play a single player game against them, but hey they're in the game and you're gonna have to deal with them sooner or later.
Because knowing what Deathslinger can shoot over/through, knowing where to hide on which map and use the killer's blind spots etc doesn't take skill and experience at all.
-
You know that the harpoon-gun doesn't need bait? You didn't have to bring any.

How is Spirit ever not unseen during phase? Lol. Stealth does not counter Spirit. She gives very little time to juke unseen once you hear her phase. This is coming from a past spirit main. And dont tell me she moves grass and the very few times that happens it somehow adds any counterplay for survivors lol. Theres so many anti stealth, map information perks it is impossible to prepare and avoid them all. Using stealth was viable against nurse back in 2017 but that was a very different game. Even then, those games were hell. That argument doesn't work anymore.
Tell that to all the red rank spirits that walked right past my sorry rank 14 butt hiding in bamboo and corn

What is it lately with more and more and more killers being like that?
Seriously, since Hexy's tournament it seems to be toxic-o-clock 24/7. It's utterly exhausting, on both sides.
Because, sorry, but if i get survivors thanking me for playing NORMAL then something is wrong.
-
I think I said it in the other thread (not certain) but yeah, the counterplay is in in his lore:
He's a bounty hunter, you're his mark. Hide, stealth and try to avoid him spotting you. Get everything you need to get out of the area, get your gang, and get your butt to tahiti or something.

Im sorry! I was on the forums and it seemed like people hated going against him, so I asked why received why answer and made this! Im not trying to make him infinitely loopable! It's quite annoying that the forums immediately bounce everything back to survivors just wanting to indefinitely loop, no wonder this communtity is so toxic. No one trusts each other or has any sort of faith.
I'm sorry if this was stupid or absolute mess, if I may ask what is some counterplay against Deathslinger? This would have been a good step towards making this rebalance!
Again sorry!
Apologies from me too.
However the most vocal hate Deathslinger is getting always centers around how he is 'boring and unfun to face, because he cannot be engaged in chases and cuts them and looping short' and how he thus 'has no counterplay because he's is so overpowered in chases because he can instashoot and there is nothing to avoid that and you can only hope he misses'. And usually when people name stealth as counterplay, the same voices declare that 'but chases are the very core of the game and the most fun and thus deathslinger should be removed because...' etc

Stealth is another viable counterplay.
I share your exact sentiment. He's not OP, in my opinion he's one of the hardest killers to get 4k with. But I'm good with even 1k because it's unique. The only reason I main him is his unique ability to make SWF squads scramble by reeling a Survivor away from the mob. People that just want to loop, tbag, drop a pallet, then move to next loop rinse and repeat will always fight to change anything that makes them deviate from that.
And like, the people that complain the loudest about how he has no counterplay are the same that will stand there in the open gate, injured and tbag him as if that is an plan that will work out...

The counterplay you mentioned is a bit weird in my perspective.
You can't dodge the shoots directly, moving in a odd path is just letting him catch up stopping it lets him shoot.
the counterplay for deathslinger is stealth. I know a lot of people absolutely loathe the idea of having a killer that they can't loop endlessly, but his counterplay is in his backstory. He's been a bounty hunter, so the best his bounty (the survivors in this) can do is lay low, hide and get everything they need to do to get their behinds out of there safely without him catching on.
And I agree, taking away the semi-insta shoots would break him. Some people have advocated to give him as much a delay as huntress, which would make the entire ability of the redeemer useless, cause people would be out of range before he can shoot.
Honestly: I maintain the opinion that people are simply calling for tweaks and nerfs on him cause they refuse to change their gameplay from 'engage in endless looping while the others do gens' that they try to apply to every killer, regardless of abilities.
-
@Leachy_Jr said:
Few issues with this:
- His instant ADS is the only thing he has against good survivors. Making it not instant pretty much kills him unless you are willing to make his movement speed while ADS about 105 to 110%
- Idk why you would want to be able to W game against him, that's just boring gameplay from both sides.
- Good buff Idea, but right now he really shouldn't be changed. He doesn't need a buff or nerf.
I mean, this is one of the better suggestions for him, but if he isn't broke, don't fix him. And right now he ain't broken.
A lot of the issues people have with him tend to be more on survivor side or caused by map design.

Your right but once you get in a chase it usually doesn't last long
Yeah, but that's very much the discussion about whether or not his power needs to be reworked (personal opinion: give him a slightly longer delay before he can shoot, not as long as huntress', and make the reload sound louder. maybe have him start with the gun unloaded and have the initial reload sound be global, so people know what they are dealing with)
-
@sudintlink said:
Some maps are a lot better for some killers for sure. I play deathslinger and yamoka estate is god level because the only cover for most the time is rocks that are rounded off so if you shoot them it still pulls them around the rock.

Not everyone is good at looping or takes fun out of chases. Why is that such a hard concept to grasp?

dude, Plague is from pre-historic times, Deathslinger is from western times and the fact that licensed chapters exist, it's a no brainer that the Entity can adduct people from different time periods
this is common knowledge for DBD player even if you don't look into much of the game's lore
Small nitpicking here: 'prehistoric' usually describes everything from before the iron age iirc, so, Plague isn't from 'prehistoric' times
