  • I'm thinking of doing this too, seems fun, also planning to include other aspects such as if I'm in a SWF or not sorta like how @moonwinx did

Might as well collect my own stats lol, just with I could see my own MMR now then it'd be perfect

  • both, the furious stun of both kills the killer, gg ez, get gud killer

  • Could be they play a lot of FPS and picked up the only FPS killer in the game rather quickly? But I'm not sure, never played Deathslinger, so I'm not sure how good his aiming is. But if they had other games played such as Halo, COD, ect. and have a lot of hours, not to farfetched they picked up on playing the gun slinging killer after a bit of practice handling his controls and working out how his aim would be before even putting the gun up to aim.

Nah that's perfect placement so that way the survivors can be together on the hook

oh right, my bad bro, I am lonely

  • I would love to see Rick Grimes or Daryl Dixon as a survivor

  • Okay then you have no problem with Swat SWF squads/gen-rushers? Cuz after all it's THEY want to play, at least that's how it would be by your logic. After all, they're just doing they're objective. You see the issue with this argument? Just cuz how it's how they like to play doesn't make it any more fun for the opposing side.

Point is, neither side is gonna make the game fun for each other, and both sides are gonna complain about the other. And if it's hating on starts that have been deemed a-okay by devs, then so be it, people are gonna hate because it's unfun to play against. That's your answer and because both ways are garbage ways to play as you'll only hurt yourself in the long run skill wise. Killers won't learn to break away from a chase that is going nowhere, and the gen-rushers won't learn to hold a loop against a skilled killer, that's all there is to it in my eyes.

If killers wanna camp/tunnel, then they better be prepared to face said consequences when they possibly end up with just one kill. Survivors that wanna gen-rush will be met with Hex: NOED and then get insta-downed unless the totem spawned in a crappy location.

No matter what game you play, hate will be prominent, no use complaining about and/or questioning it, cuz the answer will in most cases be the same in games like this. It makes the game unfun.

  • You have to have the mask by the time the exit gate opens, if the exit gate is open and you die with invitation you can receive the mask

You don't have to escape, just be alive until the exit gate is open

  • Please, I had a panic attack 1 day in of the full release (on console) and my and I now just talk over the nightfall that way we block out the noises for me

is there any chance this may be addressed for people with sensory issues, any solution really, this is an issue for some people who have sensory issues. I figured I asked because I know they're working on macro-flashlights and whatnot for epileptic players, but what about those with sensory issues such as this.@Madjura

  • Yeah, I understand what you mean, I play survivor and having teammates D/C at the start isn't very fun. Some people usually leave each other on hook knowing they can get them off before second phase, or death maybe, but there's others who just don't care. I've also gotten tunneled out of games and no one else does just cuz the killer wants at least one person out at the start and it just happens that I got unlucky.

The event is just emotionally and mentally exhausting on both sides due to how some players are playing. Ex: Mikaela went down for the first time and D/Ced, so the Trapper just ended up farming with us due to that.

I don't even want farming games all the time, I just wanna be able to enjoy the event and have fun instead of some players giving their teammates/the opposing side a huge "F- you" but unfortunately that won't happen, so just push through the rest of the event or take a break, it's not worth the stress

    Instead of T-bag, I shmove/j

Edit: This applies for when I play survivor or Ghostface, I wanna do the California Gurls Chad dance

  • No thanks, I holding on to them for the fact from what I've heard both sides have been playing like dicks and I'm not using my cakes til' after the event is over for a bit. I'll use em eventually but not during the event, it's a waste

lots of killers are back and offten it is newbie killer who run it for muilple reason but the main ones are.

    1. They may not have other perks unlocked.

    2. when running with the new killer they may have rushed to level it but got bad perks in the bloodweb

3.Sadly due to bad mmr baby killers have been going up vs full SWF and getting crushed so NOED becomes a clutch to maybe get one kill.

hell I only got like 300-400 hours and got match up vs one 7.5k two 3k and one 1.5k swf team and got uttly destroyed.

I think NOED will be used a lot for the next two weeks then either:

    1. the killer gets better perks to replace what he has.

    2. the killer stops playing killer and joins survivor or quits entirely.

I get that, I feel like the perk might end up getting stuck in the little rework pile that's coming this summer, the reason why I say this, is because there's a lot of usage for it now, since people don't want to run gen slowdown perks and are instead of running this. If they do, cool, if they don't cool.

Welcome to dead by daylight then. Match starts, survivors gen rush, they all get done, killer has noed, all survivors die, and racial slurs are said in chat. It’s been going on for a long time pretty much ever since the perk existed.

That wasn't the point of the post, was just pointing out something I noticed, I'm not complaining about it, just was surprised ^^"

  • the only time I leave a survivor on hook, is if the killer has NOED, EGC is happening and I know that there'll be no way to get them without giving the killer a free kill

The one exception to this was when the ST chapter was still available, we were on Hawkins, Demo had NOED, and Adam and Tapp we're on hook across the map from the open gate. I hauled ass across the map forced a BT hit on Adam and rushed for Tapp forcing BT hit on him, all 4 of us escaped (the Meg left immediately)

I fondly look back on that day, I was ballsy back then

  • @DrDeepwound said:

Because in a healing meta where no one does totems and gens fly, noed is a reasonable choice. I sometimes run noed instead of any gen slowdown just for faster games, I hate ruin. I will run noed before ruin any day.

I'm not complaining don't get me wrong, just something I noticed cuz holy hell, hex seems like it's an all time high. My friend and I don't even run boons unless we're doing meme builds and so we don't mind cleansing totems.

Playing pve co-op games with friends from time to time can be great for example because there is no pressure and toxicity. Unless your friends are "pleasant". But you just ditch those lol.

Regarding other activities, just do what you love. Kinda different for everyone.

Thanks, I'm sure other people might be able to break away from the cycle, because yes DBD can be fun at times, but a lot of the time, it's frustrating.

So hopefully other people learn that taking a break from the game isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just knowing your boundaries ^^

  • @Shaped said:

If I couldn't take breaks I would never play this game or any other. Breaks are good and it helps me enjoy the game more.

It's the one online game I have that supports my bad internet. (i.e. not boot me out when my internet cuts for a couple seconds.) Tried slime rancher and it was nice but as soon as I came back, so did the bad feelings.

I'm sorry, have you tried giving Stardew Valley a try, it's a fun game with relaxing music and the creator is even working on another game called Haunted Chocolatier. I don't know how long your first break was, but try taking a longer break this time, and maybe limit the amount that you're playing DBD.

Ex; Have a backup game, play a couple matches of DBD, and then switch to your backup. Or even watch a movie like movies you enjoyed from your childhood

  • @Tostapane said:

Or play bubba basement defender... Jokes aside i did that too cause the game isn't fun anymore (I found boring keep pressing m1 on gen for 80 seconds as survivor and as killer I'm aganist tryharders who use the best offering/perks/items in every single match as killer... While I'm playing weak killers with meme addons)... Until they'll start to fix the major game's issues, I won't probably come back

Tbh, a lot of people ended up leaving because of poor balancing, or just some questionable to decisions the devs made. A notable one being Orion, Orion said he was leaving, and he did, not once checking in on the forum. Even the people who didn't get along with him respected him. That was just because the NFT situation, there were other players that left as well during that.

But with buggy gameplay that sometimes makes the game unplayable on both sides, for example someone unhooking another player causing a lag spike, or Nemesis being broken right now cuz people can't use his tentacle, it's all just issues like this that make the game difficult.

I still enjoy playing the game, but I can't enjoy it like I used to because of these issues, but the core reason I left was because the game is what gave me my anger issues in the first place, I've been playing since 2019 and oh boy, it's been a rollercoaster.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The thing is, overall I do enjoy this game. I wouldn't play it otherwise. It just sucks certain people make this game unbearable at times and we shouldn't have to avoid doing something we enjoy because of other people's ######### attitude.

But you don't have to abandon the game completely, just take a step back for a bit. By taking a step back for a bit, you don't have to deal with frustrating players every single second, and then you can come back and when you start feeling yourself getting worked up again, just walk away again.

If you keep submerging yourself in this frustrating gameplay that is causing you anger, then it's just going to cause you to hate the game eventually, and when in it be better to just take a step back for a bit and then come back to playing a game that you enjoy.

Easy, I'm competitive by nature and the thing that frustrates me the most in games is feeling like my skill level didn't matter (the deck was stacked against me too much so I was screwed no matter what).

Fair or not, this game is the damn definition of "sucks to be you" where there are times your skill didn't matter and you got screwed. It also doesn't help how many just ######### peeps gravitate towards this game and take every opportunity to rub it in your face how you got screwed and it's easy to see why people get frustrated playing it.

I'm happy for you if you are fine and don't get emotional when these things pop up but some of us like me are dum and let this ish get to us far more than it should :D

Believe me, if I could just flip a switch and not care, I'd do it in a damn heartbeat.

...I should quit this game :D

Well, my suggestion could be to try and Branch out to others things but make sure you take baby steps, because if you just do it all in one fail swoop it's not going to work as intended, and you're going to end up gravitating right back towards the thing that was causing you pain.

Just take baby steps, explore your options, and once you find an alternative that you can jump to anytime the going is getting tough, there you go!

It is not THAT surprising given the messages I receive post game. But I still just cannot get into the mindset. I play competitive games relatively casual myself, but I can observe what causes it and whatnot. I actually did an academic paper on it as well with a lot of research to the point where I am even MORE confused why this effect persists with DBD.

Obviously the only explanation is that the player itself perceives it to be competitive. But where I am lost is: HOW? With all the RNG, I just... I have said it before, and I will say it again, I have had a more balanced experience playing Mario Party. The things that happen in this game are more likely to put me into a fit of laughter as opposed to rage.

No, same, I used to have Mario party for the ds, and it was way more balanced than DBD, I think the reasoning people have higher expectations for dead by daylight is because a lot of people put a lot of money into this game whether it be for DLCs or even cosmetics. They want a game that they put their hard earned money into for it to actually work, and when that game doesn't work it feels like a waste of money for probably the upwards of hundreds of dollars that they spent.

The people that don't spend money on the game probably already had some mental health issues prior or even anger issues prior, which is why they probably use video games as an escape and when every game feels frustrating cuz it feels like the opposing side is mocking you, it's difficult.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

DBD does not make it easy though. They tend to try have something happening every week. If i took a break now i would miss the blood hunt :(

    I'm sorry :(

But think to yourself what's more important to you, a game that can cause you stress and the feeling of helplessness, or a couple extra bloodpoints. This game has things that keeps us coming back which causes it to be an addiction, fight past it, I believe in you!

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

I more or less agree, but I really do not see how a party game could have that effect on anyone. This is more relevant for competitive games with "stakes."

You'd be surprised, I've heard people for mic crying and/or screaming after a loss.

  • @Belzher said:

I say this to every League player friend I have and they keep playing it, which makes me sad for them.

Yeah, it's really sad, games like League can DBD are like drugs in a way. People grow addictions to them after consuming the content for such a long time, or even a small amount of time if they've already put a lot of money into. At first I thought I would never be able to take a break from DBD because I already spent way too much money on the game for DLCs and a couple cosmetics.

But as soon as I realized I wasn't playing it as much, it felt refreshing.

But wouldn't DH make people more likely to take NOED? As it makes you far more likely to not get anyone to death hook.

Personally never even used either perk but played against both. NOED is annoying, but at least it isn't every game. DH is just outright broken in some circumstances, but most people I play against using it tend to mess it up 50%of the time. But that doesn't make it any less powerful.

Good point, that's why if both are removed and/or nerfed, the survivors that complain about NOED will be dealt with until another perk that they want removed/nerfed is done and vice versa.

Because no matter what happens, people are going to find the next thing to complain about for the opposing side, majority (obviously not everyone we have a couple good apples) of the people believe the 'us vs. them' argument, when the game is doing a lot better in trying to balance. Will it be perfect? Definitely not, but it's like now that the devs are attempting to make an effort, the posts keep coming, that's my entire reasoning for adding that bit at the end of the post where it's like "just wait for the mass rework."

    It's sad but true

you can read up on it here:

i know, but I wanna get the accomplishment of doing it before the rework, it'll make me feel special lol

  • @Mdawgu said:

Jeez people still think NOED is busted? It's lame and stupid sure but I don't seem to ever see it.

I think it's because the killer can go a whole game without getting a single hook, and by endgame turn the game on its head and get a 2k/3k or possibly a 4k

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yes but they are not equal in terms of power. Dead Hard has like a 75% pick rate at high mmr and noed drops off to like 10%-15%.

Yeah, but I see other survivors complain about it like it happens every game

Again, it's not all, but enough to take notice of, if you have a different suggestion though, the thread is open for discussion ^^

Also I do like your idea for the change of being unable to use pallets, I would say just turn off interactions after the use of Dead Hard in general for that 3/4/5 seconds, but thats me.

I can't take credit for the deal, it was someone else's idea ^^

But I understand the whole interactions things, but windows and pallets are the core one I saw

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

That's a very unfair deal (NOED isn't that good, while DH is the most overpowered Perk in the game), but I'll take it

Better than nothing, it gets rid of a perk survivors complain about, while also getting rid of a perk killers complain about

I know that NOED isn't OP but gotta please the masses

edit: also very spicy if the killer is console

  • @Vetrathene said:

I will gladly trade NOED for Dead Hard, you have yourself a deal.

40% of the games I play are survivor. I have hundreds of hours on survivor. - both my archives and my achievements and my play time supports this, but thanks for telling me what I do and do not play.

    • First bullet, noone cares about this, their fault for queing up with real life obligations
    • Second bullet, petty
    • Third bullet, petty
    • Fourth bullet, petty for both.

    See a trend?

Again though, it's petty on both sides, not just one, I explained this, you said killers can sometimes feel helpless while playing, and it's the same thing for survivors, does this mean I D/C when things don't go my way, no. But that's not the case for everyone, people D/C on both sides for petty reasons, it shouldn't be limited to just survivors

  • @foxsansbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2962491#Comment_2962491

Killers DC due to impotence. Whatever they experienced during that game, when you boil it down, it destroyed their agency. That's why they left and we know that's not why Survivor's leave. Being on the hook is a part of the game, survivor's are expected to be impotent occasionally because there are 3 other survivors to do work.

Survivor's DC because they are petty.

Bruh, someone obviously doesn't play survivor, killers will D/C if they don't get a kill sometimes and you call survivors petty. What type of BS?

    Survivors can D/C for numerous amount of reasons just like killer and it all boils down to the same reasons;

•They have to go do something and can't finish the gamez the penalty will most likely be over by the time they get back

    •They don't like the map

•The game isn't going in their favor

•(Killer) Because they got stunned once / (Survivor) Because they got downed once

    D/Cing during loading is no different;

•Didn't like an offering someone brought

•Again, they have to go do something and won't be back in time for the game

    •Spite (sad but true)

So don't you dare just call survivors petty, killers can be equally just as petty, survivors can face the same impotence as killer

Both sides are petty in their own ways and it's sad to see, but in the end the most common reason I see both sides D/C is this

Because they had a series of bad games, so they know that by D/Cing, they can ruin the games for others, Killers since they can quite literally end the game by D/Cing, Survivors since they can screw over their teammates possibly and make the killer lose some points or that adept they were trying to get

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 16
