That's a weak argument. Yeah, BBQ needs it's additional effect and survivor perks shouldn't be as strong as killer perks.

But WGLF basicly is a non-effect perk for the actual gameplay. So asking for actual giving it some makes sense. Especially considering another argument other give here, that BBQs aura reading walks hand in hand with the idea to incentive a "healthier" playstyle. WGLF has a long history for doing the opposite. Even after the "safe unhook" it didn't got completely rid of it.

That's why I wouldn't mind another change or rework, which like BBQ helps survivors to play "healthier". The big question is what would that be and how we achieve that, without it beeing too strong, because OPs suggestions are not fitting/too strong.

Honestly WGTF should have been merged with babysitter.

  • Plays solo and always gives a "GG" after a match.

    Great players do exist....somewhere.

Would you “quit” a game though and THEN join the forums? I’m going to assume you posted here while you were still playing, it’s different. I think this is all bs, still plays and just wanted to rant about survivors under the guise that he’s quit because of it...as if the post will carry more weight. If I actually quit a game, I’m not going to go join the forum for the first time. Doesn’t add up...probably a dupe account.

I haven't played DBD in at least 5 straight months yet I still visit the forums almost daily.

Killer perks are much more stronger than survivor perks.

(Not an argument read in a calm voice please)

Killer perks need to be stronger baseline than survivor perks because its a 1v4 game.

The killers 4 perks should in theory be balanced against the 16 survivor perks.

All hex perks can be destroyed right off the bat at the start of a match thus removing it from the game entirely. The issue is these perks have so much fluctuation that they are far to unreliable to be considered strong.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Strong killer mains with the right killer, perks and add-ons will win virtually every time if the survivors aren't fully coordinated.

So let me rework what you typed.

"Optimal killer players with optimal builds will virtually always win versus sub optimal survivors"

1: "Virtually every time" means not always, thus not unbeatable

2: If you have optimal survivors with optimal build going against a sub optimal killer they too would win "virtually every time".

I'm not trying to tear you down just pointing out the fault in your comment.

If you took optimal killers and optimal survivors then the match becomes a toss up of plays/mistakes/game mechanics. This is not unbeatable in either way for any side.

Or have you thought about, maybe, just maybe, using a different perk than Decisive Strike until the hotfix comes out? The Doctor update just came out, of course they'll play him, nothing to do with your paranoia of people abusing it to tunnel.

WHOA! Are you suggesting a survivor ADAPTS!?

That's a killer move NOT a survivor move!

  • Ruin change was a bad idea (not talking the perk itself) because that letter really showcased where the Devs mindset is for the future of this game with the focus on new survivor players.

Lery map rework looks amazing but is getting annoying how much it pops up, it also doesn't help PS4 frame rate.

Doc rework is fine, his new "Static Blast" isn't great but then again neither was his aura before. sadly he lost some of my favorite builds and for this reason I have to say I'm not overly impressed with it.

Bugs introduced with patch, some old ones return some new ones surface...

Overall I'm not impressed with the patch but also not torn asunder by it.

Sure, used up one of my perk slots just in case the doctor comes up. Nice solution Einstein

By this sentence it seems Doc isn't very likely to show up, therefore isn't a big problem!

  • @sluc16 said:

Seriously what were they thinking with the rework? How to make a killer that requires 0 skills to find survivor? Cause if that was the idea, mission accomplished

For new players I get Doc can be annoying because you are forced into chases more often but trust me he is probably the best thing for you. This way you are forced to learn loops and will learn just how easy it is to waste M1 killer time.

Never really understood the whole "only works one time" argument. Some of the strongest things in the game only work 1 time. Keys only let you open hatch 1 time and a mori only kills you 1 time.

Some Mori spams let you land that fatal blow again and again and again!

Camping hatch like that is a really scumbag move though. It removes all possible escape chances the survivor has. And camping in general is a d**k move. So i will agree that people with your play style do actually ruin the game for others. No one likes camping it's super boring. For killer and survivor.

Hatch being camped? Try generators and exit gates!

Whoa amazing you mean there are other ways to escape!? I though it was my job to stare at the hatch from a distance until the killer left so I could escape and type "gg ez"!

Man nothing is as "fun" as pretending like the survivor ISN'T going for hatch and instead leaving it to take that huge gamble with little to no payoff, but hey the people who play killer, its not about their fun right.

  • I see several "Mods/Dev/Community Manager" responses in the picture you posted....really disproves the point you are trying to make.

If 30 people want to make a post about the same thing how in the world would the Devs fairly silence/delete specific people? It would be a huge mess if you said "sorry Sally you cannot voice a opinion on this topic because Tom already did it".

You could also say the same about Demogorgon, I personally believe lore wise, it just takes either training, manipulation or torture. Plus, Nemesis is a thinking bio-weapon with the soul purpose of killing S.T.A.R.S members, so possibly the Entity could "re-program" him with new objectives.

May not even need to "re-program" if it wants to kill STARS agents and the Entity has them in stock I don't see Nemmy having a problem with sticking around.

Honestly, really the only thing those two have in common are that they're both asymmetrical games and they both are 4V1. Everything else is vastly different gameplay wise so I personally highly disagree with that it "won't" happen. Also, I would have been more inclined to be on your side if PR stayed a stand alone experience but t's now packaged with RE3.

Did not know about it being packaged with RE3. As for a collaboration its true there may be a slim chance but if they want to make PR a full fledged game and not just a packaged side deal it wouldn't be beneficial to lend a character to a more popular game.

Still I'm not saying this because I don't want RE in DBD I'm just not convinced it will happen.

    Oh the irony.

Thats all that killer mains are doing right now. Complaining about gen times because they cant win games.

I have stats to back up my arguments thats the difference.

@Warcrafter4 But killers were complaining gens were too fast at the time those stats were released. They were way off then, nothing to say they arent way off now.

Besides the devs have commented on here that they predict there wont be much difference. Do you really think they would have changed the perk if they thought it would severely unbalance the game?

Actually the Devs said they needed to remove Ruin (or change its core concept) to see if gens are actually a problem. Again it doesn't matter if YOU played and recorded 100 games, your own sample size is far to small to be considered "proof" when there are thousands of games being played.

I'm not saying people cannot voice their opinion on a matter but to tell someone "that's not true because I did X" doesn't prove anything.

I'm also not saying you didn't have these experiences. I have played plenty of Red rank games against such potato teams I don't understand how they tie their shoes in the morning, but I have also experienced plenty of the opposite, with SWF "deathsquads" who just rush gens down and try to be as toxic as possible.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

I’ve been playing a lot of solo survivor. The killer wins the vast majority of games.

The fact is red ranks are completely watered down now. I’ve seen so many boneheaded moves and 5 second chases.

You all complain you’re getting genrushed but I see killers consistently win, most importantly - BHVR’s own stats agree with this.

Sorry if you’re not getting kills but that doesn’t mean that killers across the board aren’t getting kills. No killer is getting less than 2 kills per game on average.

A team of 4 survivors who are all exceptional and on comms can be very hard yes but teams of 4 high calibre survivors are quite rare. You don’t don’t get get that outside of a few swf groups. Randoms will always have a potato or two in there.

TL:DR stats indicate killers have been performing mostly ok. Killers still seem to be performing mostly ok. Many people were winning without using Ruin before anyway.

"People need to stop saying X because my experience proves Y"

Regardless of the experience YOU have it is not indicative of the picture at large.

I don't like the ruin change, it's a blatant nerf to the hex that will render it mostly useless like all other hexes beyond the insta down hexes. Thankfully, I am not a trash killer and don't use it anyway.

However, it's been great hearing about the killers dropping ranks because they can't keep up with the pace of the game at red ranks. It's about time they dropped into the ranks they deserve to play in.

Hopefully now, when I load into a trial as survivor, I get a killer that can actually play, rather than lazily rely on a totem to do all the hard work for them.

Also, I am going to love it as killer, as I will be completely unaffected by the change, like I was with every other change to nurf killers, why? Because killers are overpowered. The only chance survivors have, is with 4man swf, and even then, they get squished most the time. If you're not capable of that as killer, then enjoy the purple/green ranks or even playing some other game 👍

You know that goes both ways right?

Survivors that couldn't work through Ruin are now being boosted to ranks they shouldn't be in.

I don't think this perk nerf solves anything with rank, it just switched the tides.

What like PGTW having all tiers give 25% and another 30s time added?

    Sloppy being buffed to 20%?

    And that's just two.

Both sides have had nerfs and buffs over time. It's rare a perk gets completely reworked tbh but some will only ever see what they lose and not what they have gained when a buff was done.

Sloppy also had its effectiveness reduced on many killers with the changes to what counts as a "basic attack".

I'm not stepping into this argument but don't forget that stipulation.

  • @JarMa13 said:

    It's such BS.

The point of his marking is SUPPOSED TO BE that he stalks you. You don't know he's there.

So how is it you can run from him for 3 minutes, drop a pallet on him and while you're staring him in the face he marks you?

I have tried EVERYTHING to break the mark. Looking at him with his face center screen. A little up to the left, a little up to the right, down, side to side. HOW THE HELL DO YOU BREAK HIS MARK?

I have stared at ghostface for MINUTES and nothing happens.

And he marks you WAY too fast and WAY too easily.

9/10 times a ghostface marks me is when I drop a pallet and we look at eachother waiting to see if he's gonna break it or run around.

Takes him about 3 seconds to mark me. And HE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MARK YOU ONCE CHASE HAS BEGUN. That is a total violation of the purpose of marking.

Basically ghostface is a free one hit down every time just like leatherface.

It used to be the chainsaw could only go in the direction you swing it in.

Now, in one swing of the saw, he can chase you down a wall, around the corner, and back in the other direction and still down you.

    It's ABSURD

I have not seen a leatherface use his sledgehammer in months. Every single hit is a one hit down.

    No cool down. No wait.

And as long as he's within ten feet of you, he's automatically going to get you no matter what you do.

You SHOULD be able to duck a chainsaw swing. You can't outrun it and now that he can change directions mid swing (which is a total violation of the law of physics)

there is simply NO WAY to evade a chainsaw swing.

It's reminiscent of the trappers traps.

13 tries and I couldn't break free. When I stepped in the trap, the trapper was hooking someone. After that, he chased someone else, hit them, chased them more, hit them again, picked them up, carried them to a hook, hooked them, and walked all the way across the map to me and I STILL HADNT BROKEN FREE.

The traps should be an advantage, not a guaranteed hook. It tells him where you are AND injures you so you're a one hit down. THAT IS ENOUGH. Holding you there that long is absurd.

Even with add-ons, 5 tries should be the max it EVER takes to free yourself. 1-2 normally and 3-5 with add-ons.

I am a killer main and I'm DISGUSTED by how OP the killers are. I don't play survivor as much but when I do, I'm also disgusted by how dirty they play. Camping, tunneling, resorting to exploits.

It's shameful. As a killer main, there IS a code of ethics. It's basic sportsmanship.

    And it's easy to remember.

What is the goal of the game?

If you answered winning, you're a dbag. The goal of the game is fun.

Dbd is 5 people working together to have fun. If you put your selfish need to win ahead of the prime directive, you suck all the fun out of the game and ruin everyone's game.

    Stop being a dbag.

    Play to maximize fun.

That way no one cares if they win or lose because they had fun.

That's why I get thank you notes from people I've killed. Because I give them a good time.

I don't have a wounded ego and a chip on my shoulder that makes me want to ruin other people's fun.

    And I still get 4k.

I just do it while upholding the basic tenants of sportsmanship.

And since I USUALLY get about 100,000BP per match. I'm obviously doing something right.

    You should try it sometime.

Well if you are staring at him for several minutes then I assume your teammates have finished all the gens by then.

I started nurse a few weeks ago and I’ve mastered the blink muscle memory, and I can catch any survivors who are out in the open or at pallets my only weakness are LOS blockers which I’m still learning and I am making progress at being able to catch survivors through there LOS blockers. So why doesn’t anyone play nurse SHES extremely good, my only motivation to start learning her was better I was tired of loops so I just started using her , I will admin i was absolutely bullied to oblivion by survivors but not that I’m starting to get the hang of her I’m getting more fear / respect and the bullies are going away

Honestly the first two comments sum up my opinion.

PS4 frame rate makes it a nightmare on some maps, alongside the low "max" sensitivity.

The constant "stun" isn't really a fun mechanic to play/experience over and over and over.

I use to play Nurse a ton on PS4 and was actually really good at her. I would bring her into matches when I was hitting red ranks, but you can lose track of her blinks so easily if you stop playing her for a few days or jump to another game with different sensitivity. For this reason I felt the "upkeep" at staying a great Nurse player was just too much trouble and was not actually fun.

Since the Nurses change I find she has become even more difficult to play on PS4 now because you can be punished so much easier on a slightly poor blink. Thanks to the charge system it makes it difficult to recover from such situations with controller smooth 360s and frame rates.

  • I wouldn't call it normal as I have seen plenty where 1 is considered good.

Now I will agree that I typically see 10 as being "good" but't want to assume because you know the saying:

It has nothing to do with getting good. I'm actually one of the few players that seems to adapt to the game. One of the biggest issues with the game is BHVR hasn't figured out how to get survivors to buck up and learn how to adapt and play against different killers, so they just keep tweaking killers until they're all countered the exact same way. But, since you don't know who you will be facing, I get it - perks are important and the wrong perk on the wrong killer and its just wasted.

This game has too much randomness for it to be balanced, and thats the problem. I don't care if I lose if I feel like I was literally out played or made mistakes. But killer success is determined so much by what addons you are able to equip, and what map you get. (ESPECIALLY MAP).

I've pretty much had it with the game. I just uninstalled it again, but I was DCing pretty quickly at toxic behavior because queue times are so stupid long for survivors. Tea bag me on the otherside of the pallet? I DC. Then they message me about how lame it was, and I just respond, "What? Oh sorry, I'm already in another game. Enjoy your queue time!"

Pretty sure DepressedClownMain and myself were just poking fun at the current topics around killer vs survivor players.

  • I think both Oni and Demo-goodboy are both interesting in their powers but lack the tweaks needed to make them viable.

PS: I'm on PS4 where Oni is terrible.

  • I do not know if 1 is good or 10 is good so I picked 5 for "confusion"!

  • I vote "Yes"

Because I dislike the option "No"

I mean in a worse case than Friday 13th, say it all went to pot and the games servers shut and there was no more Dead By Daylight. How would you feel?

I am actually seriously contemplating retiring from DBD. As I have mentioned in various posts: I just don't have fun anymore. In fact, I feel frustrated and irritated, usually after a single game of DBD. So if it all ended tomorrow, I wouldn't care. I would be a bit miffed that I had spent a considerable bit of money on DLC, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I am not buying the Premium Pass for Tome 2. Main reasons being that the challenges are too time consuming and the unlockables are subpar. I don't want to be sitting on my backside for hours on end in the hopes of completing a frustrating challenge in order to unlock re-coloured cosmetic items. Sod that.

But I guess there are those who still find it fun and invest in the game. But if you didn't have it...would you be bothered?

Even though I don't play much at all anymore I would still feel a sting of sadness as I played since day 1 PS4. Putting that much time into a game (even one that takes a turn you may not agree with) hurts to see end.

With that being said I would also hope that the people over at BHVR (all great people despite my feelings towards the game. Except those people Peanits ,mentioned sit around the table thinking up ways to ruin peoples fun!) would take away a few lessons and experience with their time working on DBD.

I would also wish nothing but the best for BHVR moving forward and would remain optimistic for whatever plans they have to fill the void DBD (like it or not) would leave in the "horror" market.

Then I would return to FFXIV because GODDAMN I wish I had gotten into this game sooner!

    Removal of traps isnt RNG.

Its placed in a specific box, when the trap goes on. You just have to pick correctly. Thata luck and probability, not RNG.

    Devs have stated that.

They have also stated that two people cannot have the same box be "the" same box at the same time yet I have watched plenty of games and have played plenty of games with this exact situation. (worded horribly perhaps but basically two people with traps need the same box to remove it at the same time)

Regardless the original complaint stands, having a trap removed first box is a horrible feeling for a limited power and can even render add-ons null and void.

I’m not saying that it’s a great strategy the chase mechanic isn’t exactly the best.

Understood, I just don't see how the idea of 10m would really make a difference. A chase can happen from a farther distance and if you are not being chased when within 10m then you had no pressure to begin with.

I'm not arguing your point just trying to figure out if 10m would actually change anything.

Agreed. First box getting off is too fast for what is now purely a tool to buy some time.

I feel they should ship you an actualy Revers Bear Trap when you buy the Pig and everytime you have a RBT placed on your head you have to wear the real one you were given. This way it adds real life pressure to remove it and helps break up your concentration in game.

This would also effectively make Pig the most lethal killer in Dead by Daylight!
