That would be dope. If done correctly. I would love killer tweaks to be done sooner for sure.
Sadako needs some power adjustments too. Survivors control her power way too much. -
The only thing that doesn’t settle right with me is that a player can abandon during a Morí. That needs to change.
The abandon feature might need some tweaking, but it’s better than nothing at the moment.

I panic every time BHVR decides to go back and touch up old killers, especially killers that are very unique in the game like Myers. I really hope they can keep his identity. I love how much his add-ons affect how he is played and counted.
I worry about Tombstone the most. I know a lot of players complain about Tombstone but there are also many who enjoy playing against it. It makes the game a lot more scary/tense and creates new ways to interact with the game. Suddenly survivors need to focus on positioning and being near lockers or gens near chase in order to force grabs.
I personally do not think Judith's Tombstone add-on is broken or needs changes, however I would not be bothered if BHVR removed or heavily reworked Tombstone Piece.
As long as Myers has some form of Tombstone I will be more or less satisfied.
I get nervous honestly when its just any killer that is listed for a "Rework"
The creativity is limitless but we need better directions for reworks for our killers.
-
I believe the they do play their game, but I also believe being more open to the feedback we are giving them would be really helpful.
For example - sorry to beat a dead horse with this one but respectfully..
me “hey guys having a lot of issues with said killer aka pirate mommy, here’s why x,y,z. I’ve played over x hundreds of hours on her and here are the videos to show what’s going on”
devs: “ohh wow alright..yeah that’s not part of the intentional design. I imagine that is frustrating to keep running into that. We are gonna get this to the team and find solutions…”Essentially - locating the problem, communicating the problem to the team to put it on their radar because they don’t always have to time to catch everything, creating a solution within a reasonable time frame. (Few weeks)
As opposed to months later. The plan they have in place now though looks solid, and I really hope they continue this path, but we shall see. I’m with the community, actions do speak louder and I belief they got what it takes to make it right. Just need a little more receptivity and sympathy from their end.
(The community is not perfect don’t get me wrong by any means, but there’s a lot of good eggs out there trying to help. If you let us know ❤️)
The end. -
I support your thread! I like it!
-
@MoZo I hope a 3rd hotfix is going to be a permanent part of their routine along with what they mentioned today in their video. This is mandatory at this point, and will overall help keep the playerbase in the longterm SO much more happy as it will provide a healthier and cleaner experience for everyone.

@Foggyguy To be clear here, Ryan isn't a mod. He's a community manager.
And yes, I used the name of Ryan in a title without the tagging. (He also told me to reach out as such to keep me posted about Houndmaster's issues since we were actively making reports on her issues. )

Totally hear you on that! Actions are important here and we're committed to putting in the hard work to support this community, both across this roadmap and beyond. Thanks for the understanding words!
We appreciate your communications here lately on the forums, truly, even with how heated things have been getting lately. You’re delivery has been one of a kind.

Glad to see a roadmap, although unfortunately as a community we’ve been burned so many times in recent history that I’m going to have to wait and see actual results before I take get my hopes up.
The transparency is very much appreciated though.
I stand with you on this. Sounds good. Let’s see this in action. It’s what is needed, it’s what we want, thank you for this.
We appreciate the communication and ultimately, the time it will take to fix this stuff. This type of work means more to me than a fancy outfit or a new fancy killer.

I don't blame you. I was going to buy auric cells but now is not the right time. the way Chandler was talked down to kinda bothered me
Sadly I feel the same way. Holding off until this game is cleaned up personally.
(Unless it’s a Houndmaster skin I might cave….🤣)I think it’s best to wait. I agree
-
They have got to clean up their killers bugs. It’s painful at this point and it’s ruining the game if you’re trying to actually enjoy it. (Which why wouldn’t you want to have a good experience?)
-
@Brimp said:
Probably not much. The slew of killer bugs still exist. Hound Masters dog just has a chance to not work. Victor has an increasing chance to just slide off of a survivors back the higher FPS you have which got worse with TWD release. I'm hearing Dracula bugs got worse, etc.
So many killers are bugged it’s awful. Truly. It just feels awful. A buggy experience doesn’t allow me to enjoy the game to the fullest.
-
I see they fixed Lara crofts fur. Apparently that was a priority, but not these killer bugs that people have to deal with day in and day out. 😭
What’s a guy gotta do around here to get a normal gaming experience with a killer.

"Nerfed twice" Okay. And? Does that means the right things were changed? Does that mean he's actually in the right sweet spot? No.
"almost no one plays him" - Uh…. WRONG AGAIN.
I stopped reading after that.
Right!! 100%…I got hit through farmers corn vechile today. He was nowhere near me, I was on the opposite side. Of course I get injured and of course he just leaps, cancels power, calls it a day…Like no…
-
Yeah, I never understood that either. Considering he can injure and down people. He's a killer too. Just….well….shorter…

I’m sorry but I didn’t understand anything about this thread….I need clarification

Thank you ! He has been conjuring in my mind for a bit so I'm glad you enjoyed the narrative bits! I love a sad little guy.
Love your concept as well! I can see that being super fun, maybe instead of just straight injuring he gets a little affliction wheel and choose a status effect to apply? I could see that allowing room for a lot of skill expression too
Yeah that would be so fun! I would love that! Lets see what your posion will be today! POKE!
-
This is actually really cool! I read this entire thread on the edge of my seat. No pun intended. lol.
Really neat power too! Creepy as hell! I also feel bad for the killer too in the story. Poor Vincent.
While this is similar - I would also equally love a killer that holds a Voodoo Doll! Would be so cool! You're able to use curses on them depending upon which is available for cooldown etc etc. Could have 4 abilities similiar to Vecna. Would be so much fun!

Hey! I understand how you feel and can sympathize. While I don't have specific confirmed fixes I can share, I can see that quite a few Houndmaster bugs are under investigation, including the slowdown you've mentioned above. While I know it's little solace as you wait, I did want to thank you again for taking the time to flag so many of them. I know you've been waiting patiently (and I seriously appreciate that!), and want you to know that these haven't been lost.
That brings me some comfort. Thank you for your reply. That does help, thank you so much. Have a wonderful day!
-
Why do they need a fullscale trickster rework? Wouldn't just making it 4.4 and returning main event back to what it use to be the best solution?
Skull mommy and trapper I get.
-
I thought the QOL of life be presented to us was also all about really staying on top of these bugs. Getting fixes for them fast. Patching up efficiently. Instead we are hammered with bugs causing our ability to enjoy dbd to the fullest, and no I am not talking about Jim.
Im talking about hit validations, plagues puke that hits invisible walls or when puke goes through a survivor, I am talking about frustrating stuff like pinheads bugs, Houndmaster, Onyro, perks acting wonky, powers, map glitches.
Fix the stuff that impacts players experience directly -
I am not sure what it will be to be honest. I am not really excited for anymore content tbh. All the issues we have in the game and how long it takes to fix the content we already have. How could I be excited for new content when the same fate will just be that.

Sigh…

@GeneralV You're 100% right my friend. This makes me not want to report bugs anymore. I did it every week multiple times a week, I submitted video after video, reported hackers time and time again despite how tedious the process is because we dont have a proper ingame report system to help deal with this.
I am very frustrated and honestly disheartened. I try really hard to help the community where I can, I put a lot of effort here on the forums like many of you to vocalize for dbd and ultimately support it…but I am questioning that now. Am I even heard?
-
@thrive2survive Because we are not getting over it in a week. We are being vocal about it over and over and over again. The community is frustrated and tired of how the game is being presented to us. How long adjustments like bug fixes take. Onyro still has a demanifest bug since Alan Wake. Houndmaster has been bugged since Ghoul. 4 months now. Its ridiculous. We deserve better then this. I am not trying to be harash by any mean but stability….we must find.
-
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/453703/second-apology-within-a-week
Does anyone have the post they put on social media? I am curious and would like to read it.
This is all stuff the community has been quite vocal about. Myself included since I showed up 2 years ago. I have written a lot of it off because I was new but I caught on. They have got to address their core issues. Performance issues, Bugs fixes, and most importantly how LONG it takes for them to get stuff down. Months to fix killer bugs? Not cool. Months to fix survivor issues or bugs? Not cool. We need to be way more proactive
-
I am freak for Ai, I wouldn't mind being able to summon the little boy. That would be neat. The piles of hair coule be like traps too.
-
Curious question, but why do we even need a hatch. Whats the point?

If they wer ignoring it, there would be no option to report it or any anit cheat systems put into place at all.
They are not ignoring it. We just need better systems.

Hopefully Ryan will update us. He did say he would keep me in the loop regarding this topic with the Ream.
It would be much appreciated if we had an update on this please 🙏🏼

@kosaba11 said:
The developers are incompetent , that's why nothing is being done. Cheating happens in every online game, but usually some system is put in place, whether reports are happening or not. Any competent team looks at their forums, looks at social media, keeps an eye on content creators, etc. to know when problems occur, like cheaters or bugs, even without them being reported. Can't catch everyone, obviously, but cheating is an issue most teams can handle just fine, even if you can't fully eradicate it.
BHVR though? They haven't even tried - heck, they even allow mods to be use, it's why you saw some Killer complaining about "visibility issues" with the item that was meant to make it hard to see, it's because the Fog Vials clashed with their mods. Instead of punishing those players, they nerfed the Fog Vials into uselessness.
It's time the player base accepted that BHVR has a horrible development team.
Id be careful about insulting them the way you are. That's a great way to get banned. There are defintely measures that can be taken to improve what we have in terms of detection and anti cheats, which they have vocalized about already. All we can do is wait and see.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
IMO one of the main reasons why Cheaters are not getting reported is because you need to do so much to actually report them. You need to have a way to record your game, you have to grab all information you can, you have to open a Support Ticket, you have to upload the recording on Youtube and then link to it in the Support Ticket. And on top of all of that you have to make sure that you report them ingame.
So lots of work and I can understand that people dont really bother with that. I am not bothering with it anymore after I reported a clear cheater. They had Wallhacks (perfectly mirroring the Killer despite not seeing any red stain), Speedhacks (while the Killer was a Deathslinger and therefore only 110% Speed, he should have still catched up after a while in chase) and then ran straight to the Hatch when it opened. The person I reported did not get banned for months, so since then, I dont bother. If they make it as inconvenient as possible to report Cheaters, I will not go out of my way of doing that. I report them ingame, this takes me a few seconds and thats it.
IMO they need to have a replay-system. It might even be enough to only save the last 5 replays or even the last game played so that people then can upload parts of it to Youtube and dont have to deal with their own software to record. Or simply upload the whole replay-file (which might only be a few KB big) to the Support Ticket.
I agree. The ingame report system needs an overhaul. It needs to be way cleaner, and more efficient. The reporting system we have now is asking WAY too much of its playerbase.

Yeah but he wasnt right behind the window or under it. He was out in the open. Thats what gets me. The tentacle passed through his shoulder :(

@OnryosTapeRentals said:

It’s a problem in the reverse too. Sometimes the tentacle visibly misses but the hit still goes through, leading to the survivor feeling like they’ve been cheated of a health state. It’s just messy all around tbh.
Other than that, I actually quite enjoy Nemesis but I do wish they’d give him some touch ups.
I agree. Touch ups would be nice. A more creative selection of addons would be nice too. Some more QOL as well, thank you.
It would be neat too if you could kinda tell where you want the zombies to patrol at as an option or just select normal mode which is what they do now.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
I hate how Nemesis’ tentacle whip animation is designed. It doesn’t match how the attack actually functions whatsoever leading to these awkward scenarios where the tentacle visibly hits but the “behind-the-scenes” mechanics of his power don’t.
They should honestly redesign his animation to more accurately reflect how the power functions.
I agree 100%. That's honestly exactly how it feels too. Something aint adding up….

Yep. Completely relate to the broken path finding thing. Snug loves to take outrageously long or convoluted routes, as well as get stuck (especially where elevations are involved).
I really, really want to love HM but she’s just too broken for me. Shame because I love the pirate concept :(
Exactly. I totally get it too. I can't tell you HOW many bug reports I have been into her in the last couple months. Community Managers comment on them and tell me "The team is looking into it" which is nice and all, but I keep seeing "Bug Update" after update after update and nothing.

The amount of times I've gone to command search a gen only for it to quickly snap off as I click search for Snug to search only 10 metres in front of me… yeah I had to reduce how much I was playing HM too.
Also, I played her on Midwich the other day and Snug's pathfinding was bugged, he was stuck in a corner, and I had no power for at least 4 whole minutes in game. Very cool.
Yeah its really disheartening…Bug fixes should be number 1 priorities especially when its something you paid for like a new character. I paid for her. I even bought the legendary outfit, I will continue to support the content give to her if it means putting it back into houndmaster.

@Stalker_Tube said:
If Wesker hits you with a dash while you have endurance or an active Mettle of Man, it triggers an endurance/MoM hit as if you were hit by a basic attack, instead of grabbing you and slamming/throwing you. Being grabbed by Houndmaster's dog while you have endurance (unsure of Mettle of man) will cause the dog to release you much quicker. But why does Deathslinger have no such thing like this? He can spear you, pull you in, and wait out the endurance before hitting you. Because of this, and the existence of what I said regarding Wesker and Houndmaster, Deathslinger's gun should have something akin to one of those two.
Being hit by the Deathslinger's gun while you have endurance, should trigger an endurance hit as if you were hit by a basic attack, thus also not allowing him to reel you. OR, you should simply be able to escape much faster while you have endurance. This would solve the aforementioned issue I mentioned of Deathslinger's reeling you in and waiting out your endurance.
I agree - I always found it annoying the endurance means nothing to Deathslinger. He ignores it completely. I hope they adjust that one day. He also is a killer that needs some qol adjustments/minor buffs.
-
@SAWII said:
Even if they do play their game, which I do believe, there are too many killers for the devs to properly deal with all the bug and balance problems in a timely manner. Killers like Clown get unnecessary buffs while Twins, Plague, Pinhead and more are left with frustrating bugs - that have been reported! - for months on end.
IMO, BHVR needs to massively expand the size of their QA team, or even more killers will break down as content is further added, with no one available to address them.
I agree - but because the sheer size of content now and not be able to deal with it all because of how much we have IS the problem. Like you said, and I will add to is the team needs to be massively increased. The bandwith they have is too short for whats on the table.
Stuff takes to long to release whether its a bug fix or just some killer tweaks. It shouldn't be like that. Its really frustrating. Changes have got to be made
-
@mecca said:
Their priorities are killers. They played clown but didn't play test against actual real humans. They don't find the survivor experience valuable.
If the priority was on killers we wouldn't be waiting months/years for bug fixes, reworks and adjustments.

They’re are a lot of details to this game. It’s hard to keep up with 😅 at least for me.

@Birken13 said:
They're definitely aware of all these bugs. But I think they just choose to prioritize Killers with higher pickrates.
Perhaps - but I shouldn’t be forced to play another killer though just because we can’t fix this one that just came out 8 months ago. 4 months of waiting just for a fix it’s a little ridiculous at this point.
They’re not even minor bugs. The team fixed a bug recently with houndsense disappearing upon hooks and unhooking. That one was the least of my concerns.
Let’s fix the more game breaking bugs.

Agreed, it'd still not be particularly strong even if it didn't allow for great skillchecks. The effect is so benign you would probably have to make it a global Hex for it to be actually worth it (as a counter to hyperfocus and toolbox rushes).
Absolutely!
I love the idea of the perk. More skillchecks and smaller…but yeah it often works against the killer. -
@Feather said:
Unnerving should spawn skill checks randomly (like deadline) without greats and increases frequency while in terror radius. That would be way better. At least that b4 rework (if needed) would be good
Like make them go backwards and stuff too like deadline or?

Maybe don't go afk? They just made this massive push to punish people for considering the game to be over prematurely, and the game isn't over until the end game screen.
The anti camp radius is like 11m. This is basically the easiest thing to avoid in the game. And it's entirely within your control.
It actually extends all the way up to 16 meters I believe.
