That's a long time. That could be due to internet speed. For me the hotfix 3 took about 10 minutes to download. The patch before that (I could be wrong) was long due to the engine update.

Fear of missing out.
If there's a charm or cosmetic that won't come back and is therefore only obtainable for a limited time (PLAY OUR GAME NOW OR YOU WON'T GRT THIS THING) it's usually considered fomo.

Fear Of Missing Out. It's what flash sales and limited time events encourage. When people think the event is shorter, they jump in and engage harder before they know it's lasting longer.
Ahh I see now. Fair enough. Thank you for explaining.

Since the FNAF Chapter I wouldn't say killer has gotten harder, no. Is killer really buggy right now from all the ongoing bugs accruing over time? Yes, very much so.

I think people like to ignore the fact that you need 4 additional survivors and just 1 additional killer to create a lobby when making any take about 2v8. Especially when it comes to queue discussions.
Meanwhile under almost every post in social media and here all I see is "Bring back 2v8" and "I will only come back for 2v8" comments, like with your friend. You're absolutely right. 100%
-
It’s not that “no one wants to play survivor” it’s just that people come out of the woodworks to play with their killer friends.
My friend only plays when 2v8 comes back. (He use to play for years but now only when 2v8 is live)Improvements and adjustments though are needed. You are right.

Since Pyramid head got his add-on pass I’ve been thinking who needs one next and Sadako seems like the prime candidate for an add-on pass because
- Half of her add-ons are either so bad to the point where you really shouldn’t run them like mother’s comb, telephone, VCR, And all of her green add-ons, or are actively to use like iridescent videotape which straight up removes condemn in exchange for teleporting more frequently which has no purpose anymore, and tape editing deck which makes all survivors start with tape pretty much giving them a free invite to counter you at the very start of the match.
- just like pyramid head she only has three add-ons that are ever worth using because what other options do you have. Bloody fingernails will forever be her best add-on unless they choose to make it base kit (please). And her other two add-ons are just kind of interchangeable. Remote control is a really good add-on for knowing where to teleport for stacking condemn, and videotape copy providing that extra 2 m range for condemn should also really just be base-kit if you want to actually use your power.
but yeah it would be really good to see some basekit buffs like these and an add-on pass so that she not only has better and more useful add-on’s overall but also so that she has more options than the same three add-ons every game. Don’t know if the devs will see this but a Man can dream I guess👍
I 💯 agree my friend for sure. She has a design flaw that needs to be fixed too, which has been expressed in length on these forums. Hopefully they start by fixing that first, then address her next big issue which is addons.
Will this take time and resources? Yes.
However, id rather stuff like this than New Content. -

It really isn't, it's very close to the original kill rate.
We will be sharing a lot of the stats after the event has ended, including some fun ones to do with the classes.

Nah, his main weakness and balancing factor is having to get injuries to feed his power. Having another killer give him his power 24/7 is too much. He should have atleast been NERFED from his default state not buffed for 2v8.
So legion is the issue then.

I'm going to ping in @MechWarrior3 and @OnryosTapeRentals as they're both Sadako players and may know more bugs than I would, but I'm also going to link a thread about a visual bug in the lobby regarding her prestige weapon. Much less gamebreaking than your bugs, YayC, but still worth adding nonetheless.
Heya, thanks for the tag. Although unfortunately I don't have a lot of information to provide for us here. She doesn't really have much of a "Bug Issue" as she does a design issue.
However, I will say the bugs that need to get fixed for her is the dark screen demanifested on maps like The Game and Lerys. In addition to her demanifest invisibility not last as long as it should be even with the addon. Its broken for sure.

I am honestly shocked they didn't even at least give some buffs to them since we didnt get any new killers.

There's a thing called 'comp corner' where you buy everyone a few extra seconds by running to a far corner, also since usually it takes a second or two longer for the killer to get to a hook from there. That doesn't really work in 2v8 though obviously since there aren't any hooks. So probably just someone who watches too many streamers.

Normally that's meant as some sort of provokation or like saying "look you wasted so much time chasing me to the corner of the map, and now you have to waste more hooking me from here" - but that would only work in 1vs4 normally, because you don't have to hook in 2vs8?
Maybe she found it funny in general to make you run there idk xD
Make's sense! Thanks everyone.
And the pointing? What does that mean? "Like Ha ha?" Idk lol

The scout class? Yes! Very good! Intel on the killer, and you can rebuild strong pallets.
In my opinion that class are the most important. The other 2 are meh in terms of helping your team.

Red forest dead zone. (Haven’t even started dropping or kicking pallets yet)
You don't get to your first pallet till you get to the other side of the map as you can see…Awful. 2 more pallets need to be in that space.

its mainly realms like Red Forest, MacMillan Estate, Coldwind Farm and Decimated Borgo(Shattered Square especially, Forgotten Ruins not so much, but that might be due to the 3d structure)
I did some testing with my friend Key.
On The Game we got a total of 25 Pallets.
Red Forest there are a total of 13 Pallets
Mac Millan there are a total of 15 Pallets. (Groanhouse) Haven't tested the others. Skull Merchants Map I doubt there are many. lol
I believe the average amount of pallets on a map is 15 total. The game comes with 10 additional. (Hawkins has A LOT too)

That's a big "if". IF you are applying condemned. But it's a very simple matter of turning off the TV next to you to prevent getting condemned stacks.
I do main Onryo myself by the way, and typically the most common way I end up getting enough stacks to mori someone is by teleporting on top of a survivor mid chase. This tends to work because the survivor I am chasing of course had no opportunity to turn off the TV they just got near. And other survivors who are working on gens are lulled into a false sense of security thinking I am not going to hit them with more stacks simply because I am currently in chase.
I find that typically when I teleport just for the sake of teleporting, survivors very quickly run to the TV nearest them and shut it off.
This is also very true. I do this myself as Sadako. Also though, when I am survivor, I just casually shut off tvs. It’s really not wasting much of my time because by every tv is a gen. I’ll just dump my toolbox in it. 🤷🏼♂️
You made some good points for sure. -
I found the answer. You stay in queue. Tested it. :)

Yeah, I agree for sure. Killer is always going to be the more popular role in 2v8 because it's where the new and interesting gameplay is at. But they definitely could improve the survivor experience by introducing more class variety. I was really hoping we'd see a new class with this version, but instead they basically removed one.
I understand there were some scenarios where Guide was very overpowered (SWFs basically) but the sensible solution would've been to tone the class down rather than outright replace it. They could've lowered the numbers or made it so the Guide powers don't stack/proc with other Guides (or both).
Guide was my favourite class before they reworked it, I don't really like the new effects sadly which is really hurting my enjoyment of 2v8.
I agree and totally get it. Guide was fun. I have always been the medic player anyways but I have branched out to scout at least. Being a construction worker is pretty fun. ^^
-
What if you are already in priority queue for killer and you invite a friend to join you? Does that put you to the back of the queue?
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3987455#Comment_3987455
Yeah, the solution is to make survivor more appealing from a gameplay perspective. Offering incentives is just a bandaid fix. The easiest way to do that would be more classes, like a chest-based class, a totem-based class, classes similar to Escapist but with different exhaustion perks, etc.
I agree 100%. Even after doing that while I think it will help queue times, I don't feel it will be a huge improvement noticed since the popular demand is to play killer with your friend ya know?
-
I don't think Skins are going to get people to want to play survivor in 2v8
-
It usually spawns right in front of where it is at. Its the same type of pallet honestly. Just as safe in my opinion.

Yeah... Sadako is a little fangless atm, especially as the current wave of Power Creep keeps getting more and more prevalent. Survivor has had a slew of healing buffs that specifically wreck her required hit and run playstyle... I've seen several Sadako's have to resort to heavy slugging to get any kind of Condemn pressure.
It's the same thing as Huntress, the timings for Survivor have just gotten better and better and better, and despite the Sadako being the same/unchanged, they've been nerfed by proxy as the other side keeps getting better and better and mives the goalposts away from them. No one notices/talks about it, cause the killer side keeps getting newer and stronger dash heavy toys to play with that distracta everyone and fuels the Power Creep even more.
Can't really blame BHVR... this is what people keep asking for. I knew several people who kept fighting it, but pointing out what people don't wanna hear often leads to being ratio'd. They always want bigger and stronger perks, faster and more lethal killers... we're in an era where almost nothing gets nerfed, everything gets buffed, and it results in classic Power Creep.
I was fortunate that my main Pig got updates to at least keep in line with the Power Creep (though I feel more perk dependant and less build flexible than ever, I am at least pretty much where I was before in terms of strength). Sadako didn't get the same memo unfortunately.
Tbh, I'm not really sure what to do for Sadako right now. She's got a bit of the Legion problem... trying to make her effective against good survivors, makes her utterly steam roll against regular Survivors.... and the other issue is we've had 3 distinct versions of Sadako, and everyone's got a different opinion of what she should be.
You have made several good points and you’re right thankfully with Ms Piggy 🐽 you have the opportunity of bypassing this frustration but to be fair you have gone through your time of frustrations with her lol.
Now, apparently I must go through mine with Sadako once more. I’m looking forward to Teams Insights regarding Sadako and her current design. I do hope we can muster up something for her. As mentioned even a preview design sneak peek 👀 such as being done with Skull Merchant/Trickster would really be helpful. I understand she’s a little tricky to balance due to her uniqueness and I very much would like to keep her identity faithful to her.We must makes some changes for her and no pun intended but I am “All Ears” 👂 to hear what the devs think, their thoughts and opinions based on this topic at hand.

But when you do this, you are 1) wasting time teleporting around just for the sake of teleporting and shutting off that TV. and 2) wasting that resource for when you might really need it later and 3) you're also shutting off a source of condemn that could apply to survivors.
But that therein is the problem. It's a damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario. If you teleport around and shut off all of your TVS, sure, the survivors can't get a tape from a TV and shut them off for EVEN LONGER … but then you've got no power. You've wasted loads of time and thrown all your mobility away for little to nothing. If you try to conserve your TVs, then that allows the survivors to shut them off anyway and lower their condemn.
There is practically no downside to survivors taking your tapes and shutting off your TVs. But there are downsides everywhere when you project or choose not to project.
Exactly. You are also right. The design is very problematic. It makes playing the killer unfun for sure. I love her, but we need a better design. This one just isn’t cutting it.

I dunno if that dude has never played vs onryo or what. I've only ever been condemn killed once and it was on The Game, I was extremely drunk and it was extremely embarrassing. All you have to do is turn off the TV near your gen. You can even hold onto the tape.
Exactly. You literally don't have to go anywhere. She is just going to teleport elsewhere anyways. Just go back to your gen. You have a full 70 seconds. The tape doesn't punish you at all. Completely free.

Glad you like the direction I have
For your ideas and concerns you have
1)Your idea on ring drawing is a nice idea, doesn't have the potential hard slugging effect that 2.0 had going
2)For well stone yeah I do see some potential problems becoming a must run addon if it were implemented in an actual game
3) there's many ways of changing her lullaby like maybe reduce her range by a certain amount by each survivors holding a tape or have no lullaby if you hold a tape by a certain amount of time
As for how they would feel to play, definitely am hoping one of the manager can see some of the ideas from this post and hopefully have it tested out by someone
Absolotely my friend! May I tag you in my thread I made on her recently? It’s a little spicy over there but that’s due to people that don’t know her as well. 😅

Bringing back more ideas that I have for sadako to make her more better to play as and to make her add-ons much more useful
Base Kit changes -
• manifest invisibility last for 1.3 seconds (was 1 second)
• demanifest invisibility Last for 1.5 second (was 1.2)
•Increase projection duration movement speed for 3 seconds (was 2 seconds)
• sadako now gains her manifest duration when projecting to TV's
•increase her undetectable duration by 6 seconds after projecting to TV's
• TV's take 65 seconds to turn back on after being turned back off by a survivor (was 70)
•(new) sadako Grant's immunity to stun for 4 seconds after manifesting or projecting out the TV
•(new) tapes are destroyed when survivors have taken damaged (does not inflict condemn)
Add-on pass
•old newspaper - (reworked) TV projections sounds are now silent within certain range (kinda like wraith's)
• mother's mirror- now includes the immune stun as well as it's current effect
• sea-soaked cloth - increase undetectable duration by 4 seconds when projecting to a TV
•reikos watch- (reworked) vault and kicking speed is increased by 15 percent when demanifested
• clump of hair- decrease the range by 8 meters (was 6 meters)
Well stone - the specific TV that was turned off by survivor is immediately turn back on when a tape is destroyed or inserted back to a different TV
• well waters - successful attack cooldown is reduce by 15% when hitting a survivor holding a tape (has a 30 second cooldown)
•Ring drawing - tapes are no longer destroyed when a survivor takes damage, when hooking a survivor holding a tape, other survivors gain two stacks of condemn
•Bloody fingernails- (reworked) reduce the time it takes to project out of a TV by 0.3 seconds
Rickety pinwheel - survivor gains oblivious for 60 seconds once they grab a tape
• VRC- fake Sadako's will appear at all TV's that are currently on when projecting (new)
•Telephone- (reworked) survivors gain 5 percent hinder for 2.7 seconds when sadako teleports within 16 meters to a survivor
•Tape editing deck- (reworked) all survivors starts off condemn with a total of 3 stacks
•Iri tape- (reworked) sadako can now teleport at any TV's that are off (it does not inflict condemn), TV's that are off has a 15 second cooldown before you can teleport to them again
These are all the ideas I have for sadako
What do you think?
I like your direction. You created some pathways for diversity which is really appreciated!
Not bad changes at all my friend. A few changes/concerns I would like to throw on the table.
1) Ring drawing - “New” Upon breaking a tape in a survivors hand, 1 stack of condemn goes to each survivor EXCEPT for the survivor who’s tape broke.
If you don’t like that idea for it, it could be something where everyone that has a stack of condemn, 1 stack of condemn with be locked in EXCEPT for the person you broke the tape on. :)
My concern with your design is this…(which I don’t know if it’s a concern per say because I would need to test your design to know of course)
2) Well stone feels like it would still have to be a must addon to run simply due to Sadako losing her power and it being controlled by survivors hence our current design flaw.
3) I also would like her lullaby to be either smaller or much much larger with no directional help.
I’d have to try your design in person to “feel” it out in a trial to know for sure, but obviously that’s not possible. However, like I said. I like your ideas! :)

Am I overlooking the ETA queue timer by chance or is it a bug that is being worked on presently?

@4thdslip said:
I feel like there's another option for Sadako, which is having the TVs start turned off, and when she TPs to them, they turn on and load a tape into them. Being near a TV when it turns on adds a stack of Condemned, but you can't take a tape out of a TV that's never been turned on, so you do need to still be near a TV at some point. Taking a tape out or putting a tape in turns the TV off and removes Condemn as always; TVs probably also turn off automatically on a 30-45 second cooldown as well.
This would result in slightly different counterplay - to avoid Sadako teleporting in front of you and stacking condemn, you have to stay in loops with on TVs. However, TVs are still a core mechanic you cannot ignore, with the caveat that interacting with them may still result in someone else's death.
While this would remove some of Sadako's stealth elements, it does turn her into a incredibly good control killer, allowing her the ability to force passive slowdown by teleporting near gens much like Springtrap can, while also making it difficult to run away from gens that have progress (since, if you want to avoid stacks, you need to stay near that TV).
Addons that would be changed:
- Cabin Sign and Well Stone would decrease the time TVs are on for, allowing Sadako to teleport to them again.
- Make the loud noise notif from Mother's Comb basekit, and rework this addon.
- Move Tape Editing Deck's effect over to Iridescent Videotape, sans aura reading, and rework this addon.
- Iridescent Videotape, on top of now having Deck's effect, also makes a survivor exposed for 12 seconds after putting a tape into a TV.
- VCR gives Hindered to survivors who place tapes into TVs. This could be given to Telephone with a rework to VCR, but considering this rework touches nothing about Sadako's Manifest power, I want to maintain those addons.
@MechWarrior3 , since you're a well known Sadako main, does this idea pass your sniff test?
Hmmm…This gives me a lot to think about. Especially from a new lens. I would have to try it to know for sure to see how it feels which I know isn't a realistic possibility, but if I was given the chance…yeah…for sure I would. <3
I do like this concept. I find it interesting and while I find this idea neat, I would also really like to in some way though make her just a tiny bit stealthier in her kit.
The side objective is important to me though. I want to keep survivors busy to the best I can. Give them something else to think about.
This does peak an interest though. As a sidenote her other addons will need adjusting too. They are either outdated or inferior. A more creative approach like how Pyramid Heads was done would be neat. Give you various options, avenues for playstyles etc. (If possible)
Thank you for writing in. <3
-
It’s only 30 seconds. After that they flop back down to the ground like a dead fish.
-
Survivors should be blind while nightfall is active. It’s pitch black. You shouldn’t be able to see auras. This would only make sense. You shouldn’t have to bring perks for that to happen.
This power would counter the Windows Users.

@HuskyDogLover said:
Hmm tapes aren't free. If they run around turning TVs off, they are using time and they get a stack of condemned for every TV turned off.
To be frank, I don't even know how she works anymore because they change her so frequently. I don't know if it's just bugged, but the last time I played against her I was getting condemned stacks while holding a tape, which I thought they changed so you wouldn't get stacks while holding a tape, but I guess now you do?
Are you spam teleporting and then wondering why your TVs are on cooldown? Because the few times I played against her, players did seem to be spam teleporting, which I suppose works because it spreads condemned. But then you can't complain that your TVs are on cooldown when you do that.If you want to condemn you have to spam. However that rarely is my issue. My issue is that survivors jdit cut the tvs off. That’s 70 seconds you are out of 2 powers. So you are left with a terrible stealth.
