I think the actual "problem" is most Doctor players (I'm one of them) combo his random skill check placement with perks like Unnerving Presence, Hex: Huntress Lullaby, and Overcharge to make the skillchecks downright obnoxious.
Which are all valid tactics. Some perks work better with a killer's power than others.
That would be like being against Freddy using Discordance, Surveillance or Thrilling Tremors to find people on generators and teleporting there.

I had a match 2 nights ago. Farm realm. VS wraith. One guy got hooked, 2 survivors bum rushed the killer. One got slugged. The other looped the killer around hooked survivor. I couldn't get close for the save. I went to the basement to get the basement chest in the mean time. In that time the survivor in chase saved the person off hook. The unhooked survivor immediatly went from the hook to the basement, to locker spam the locker trying to bait killer to come kill me. As he was coming out of the locker and I heard the Killer coming closer (I had spine chill that wasn't turning off, and terror radius getting lourder) - I belined it ahead of him, and took wraiths first hit. I sandbagged the unhooked locker spammer at the corner of a door - where wraith downed him.
I ran to the other end of the map to the Nea, and she wouldn't heal me (obviously swf with the other guy), so I cleansed a totem and healed with Inner Strength. Started to work on a gen alone. Where the Nea came in and started to window spam. The killer came and started to chase me, I looped the killer to another corner of the map, but he gave up chase. I started to heal at the corner. Jane came over and dropped a pallet, I stood next to it crouched, she slid over it bugging into my same spot and started to teabag. The killer walked over and downed her. Then I jumped the pallet and escaped again.
After hooking the Jane, he chased down the Nea and hooked her too. Then I took the hatch. In the end game screen they started to go "good job you got 3 people killed" and the unhooked locker spammer started saying I just "hid in the basement all game". Me and the Killer called them out on sabotaging me.
It was good game, and i'm glad that a toxic SWF like that got what they deserved.
Glad you made it out. What is seriously wrong with people. "oh my god that guy's useless he's in the basement! let's totally ignore the fact that I'm being chased around the hooked and slugged person, how dare he not come help and risk getting downed, too!"

Killer for sure.
- I like killer more in general
- Faster queue times
- More bloodpoints
- I do better as killer than as survivor in general
- Even a bad killer game can still be somewhat good. A bad survivor game sucks ass
- I'm better at chasing than I am at being chased
- More variety, different killers with different powers, survivor is same old same old over and over, even if you change the perks it's not enough of a change for it to matter
But yeah, let's say, ignoring points and queue times, if it were in kill your friends or context where no one gets rewards aside from a victory point, I'd rather play killer. I like survivor too though, a mix of both here and there is a good way of not getting bored with the game, honestly.
-
I was already playing him a bit here and there, and was wondering which killer to level next.. the costume coming out sorta helped me decide to level him before some of the other ones. ;) Got him to prestige 3 with some of the perks I want, still don't have the full outfit though so I'm only using the head. 2 tiers from unlocking the body though.

Shhh! They weren’t supposed to realize it until after it got implemented!
I don’t even own Piggy, I’m the suicidal Survivor who wants to Boop the Snoot.
Haha ;) She's so fun to play. First killer I ever played when I got the game and one of my main ones to this day (I gave her a break to play other killers and level them to unlock perks but came back to her and enjoy her even more than I did before)
So fun when survivors crouch towards you just wanting to boop before getting chased haha Doesn't happen often enough though (well, maybe partly my fault because I just go for the attack when I spot someone)

Did anyone else correctly predict that this would be a thread about being salty over DC penalties?
Easy to predict, all the topics about penalties being unfair end up being that way.
-
Yes.
I get bugs once in a while but really not that often. Don't remember last time my game crashed on me. Few weeks ago maybe?

Some of their excuses are so extreme! Like people bringing up when they had a death in the family and had to DC... like dude, why do you even care about a penalty in that situation?
I've been enjoying the stories though. It's good material to laugh at while having my morning coffee.
Seriously! "Someone died, but I don't want a 5 minutes penalty!"

Oh definitely! Especially Ugly Sweater Bills

I guess denying points was a victory
Guess they'll go even harder than before at trying to get noed nerfed, now that they can't disconnect without punishments anymore!

Forward is how I imagined it. But for balance purposes, it should only kill one and then the snoot should just glow for the rest of the match.
A glowing snoot would be too much to resist and the Survivors would come to you like moths to a flame.
And whoever boops the snoot gets electrocuted, similar to a static shock from the Iridescent Queen add-on?

Her Terror Radius faded away instantly when she got the undetectable status in the PTB, but they fixed it sadly... :(
Weird the Undetectable icon pops up before she's actually Undetectable then :/ Same with the entity dark clouds around the sides of the screen.. Pretty sure they appear right away as well.

Even Better! But the beam of light should vaporize one survivor per match.
Beam of light should go forward, not upward! Anyone touching the beam gets disintegrated!

They should also make her snoot sparkle.
Big beam of light, like on that map marker add-on? ;)

Most people know that when Pig crouches her Terror Radius fades away in about ~4 seconds.
But the undetectable hud icon shows when she starts crouching.
So here is the suggestion, make the undetectable icon show up after the Pig's Terror Radius fades away completely.
Ooh.. I knew there was a few seconds delay, but I thought they had changed it and you became undetectable right away since the icon popped up right as you crouched!
Yeah that definitely needs to change!

2 hours later, I'm doing my killer challenges and who do I see in my lobby? That Bill =]
First shock I use finds only him. As soon as I down him, he DCs.
Of course people who would sandbag would DC when downed.
Oh yeah really.
I had some games with bad teammates.. and then got matched against them as killer a few games later, and I just knew they had to be the first to die. :)

Played in a match recently where 1 of the survivors was obviously working with the killer. Followed the killer around and didn't get hit. When the killer found someone else he downed them and hooked them. The survivor working with him unhooked. They let the person run away a second, but then they both started chasing. The killer downed him again. The killer and his partner survivor just stood there and watched him for awhile. The killer finally picked him up and hooked him again. Once again his partner unhooked the guy almost immediately. They let him run a second and then followed. They repeated the process and eventually hung this survivor a third time.
During that time myself and the other survivor were popping gens. We managed to have 4 gens done and working on the 5th by the time they finished tormenting the other survivor. Within a few seconds we popped the last gen.The killer ran to the hatch, which was close to one of the doors, and then went to the door switch. The survivor working with him ran to the other door and just stood in front of the switch. The hatch was closed. The killer was blocking one door and an incredibly toxic survivor was blocking the other one.
The other survivor and I started roaming cleansing totems and such. Ran across a chest and guess what was inside? That's right a key. We walked to the hatch which was in view of the door. We stood there for a second and let the killer watch us and dance a little. We popped the hatch and stood there just a minute to let him run towards us. We both jumped out before he got there.
We both got messages after the match telling us we were crap survivors because the only way we could win was with a key. I normally don't respond at all to those kind of messages. This time I just responded with "Who won?" He must have messaged me 20 times after that cussing me and everything else. I really enjoyed knowing I got under his skin that much after he played that way.
Haha good job :)
I don't think I ever had games where a survivor actively worked with the killer.. People leading the killer to others on purpose to lose them in chases, yes, but not actually running side by side and then being ######### to prevent people from leaving

That's the usual reaction when someone in the group brings a ward (not always me) "oohh who brought that?!" because we don't let people bring map offerings. Though honestly half the time, offerings are disabled to prevent just that, just in case

It's either that or not bring any offering at all? It's with friends, who cares about the outcome of the match, and honestly most offerings are junk, so I bring the most useless one I can bring in a match where offerings don't matter.

You play this game WITH others. Not for others.
If you queue up with 4 other people, you deciding to be done with it isnt just affecting you anymore. If you cant handle the outcome, dont queue up. Period.
Imagine them playing a team sports game.. Let's say team tennis.. and giving up halfway through the match "######### this I'm out" and leaving their partner on their own.
Or turning a 5 on 5 hockey game into a 5 on 4.. Or 5 on 2, because 2 other players in the same team did it too, because why the ######### not.
Or any other examples.

Nice of you to assume, but no. It sucks that people disconnect for ######### reasons, but I never complained about it because I don't play in a way that makes people disconnect against me often. I'm still glad they decided to implement punishments though. Make people think twice about being babies.

Pudding, Cake, Party Streamers
If we leave out bloodpoint offerings.. honestly I don't care, so I'm currently using up my brown salt bags on Kate, since I'm all out of bloodpoint offerings, and then I'll move on to the mist bottles, because why not?
In kill your friends, I love bringing the White/Black Ward to keep the firecracker or other useless item/add-ons I bring
-
Haha seriously? If I spot a totem and a generator, I'll get the totem done first, then work on the generator. Totems don't give notifications, generators do. So finishing the generator first would alert the killer, and he'd find me cleansing the totem, I could have to stop after 12 seconds, and start over again. Now THAT would be actual wasted time.

No no no, I'm not talking about blending.
They had 4 gens done by the time I have up.
I'm asking for a workaround when people refuses to finish the game. You could apply the same question for killers that never hook you, and keep slugging and picking you up.
And to clarify, I didn't DC in this game.
... so you could have just given chase and tunneled one of them until the others finished the last generator, then went for a door to open it for them to trigger the collapse and wait for them to leave or die to the entity...? Would have taken 2 minutes at most.

After two or three games like this, I'd just disconnect and take the punishment and move on, or switch to killer to vent out on survivors.

It’s not toxic to meme around or tease a little. Toxic is what the dude did in OPs story. Toxic is also wasting the Killers time by waiting for him at the gate, t-bagging until he shows up. Toxic is also when Killers face camp from the start of the match, Unless it’s insidious Bubba, Survivors should just expect that from him and be weary of it from the start. He was basically designed for that play style.
Lots of people just want to have fun in this game. Matchmaking has screwed me a lot so rather than be toxic, I found it fun to protect my totem or basement chest. It’s funny to see a group of Dwights try to distract me while a baby Dweet thinks I can’t hear him sneaking up from behind, trying to get to my Skull Candle. Those are some of the most fun games I’ve had.
Love it when people think you can't hear their footsteps as they run behind me to try to get an unhook right after I turn my back to the hook.. what they don't know is I'll turn my back to the hook BEFORE hooking, whack them in their stupid face for making so much noise, and THEN hook the guy I was carrying and chase the one I whacked ;p

But they were literally holding the game hostage... Well, I smell your bias miles way, no point in argueing.
Then you disconnect, and report them, holding the game hostage is one of the reasons to report people in the end-game window. Use it, and write an explanation as to what happened. Yes, you'll still get your 5 minutes timeout, but if they do it too often and people report them for the same reason each time it happens, maybe they'll get taken care of.

yes i will do gens etc if they are afk, or maybe get chase points by running to them and then away lol but it confused me....we need the abort option lol
Yeah.. and the "bleedout" option when you're slugged and the killer's just camping bodies. But that one would require checks to verify if you've been slugged for over 30-60 seconds before allowing you to bleedout, otherwise people would just instant bleedout on first down before getting picked up instead of disconnecting.
-
Maybe I could have just teabagged a bit and let him live, or just left him to die without even going to his hook at all, but I was pretty pissed at what he had pulled and wanted him to know. And yeah, as Avis said, maybe now he'll think twice about doing something like that again.
Anyway this is story telling time! :)

it doesn't make sense though why they wouldn't just do gens, but then maybe they were doing it to be petty as he went afk? maybe i don't know, maybe we need an abort mission button lol
Honestly, no idea why they couldn't have just done that, but who knows what they were thinking. I know when killers are AFK all match long, people just do generators, and totems and get in fake chases with the killer to max out points before leaving.. some just do generators and leave, others dick around. Maybe they just dicked around since he was afk and didn't care to finish the generators since there was no hurry.

If they did this it would make bond and empathy obsolete. Bad idea .
That, too. And any other aura reading perks (Better Together, Kindred, and others I can't think of right now)
Aftercare is the strongest Aura reading perk, but the drawback is the fact you lose it all when you get hooked. Otherwise, if it stayed all game, they would have to give it a range, and it definitely wouldn't be mapwide as it is right now, that's for sure. Or it would only be a one way reading, not two ways.
-
I still rather have people suicide on hook than disconnecting, if they're that salty about not winning the game or not having the perfect map with perfect shack window location for optimal looping, or whatever other bullshit reason they use to justify doing that.

I had a guy once who farmed me, unhooking me while the killer was standing right there and the killer just kept hooking me instead of going for them. Personally if I was killer and saw someone trying to farm I would go for the farmer. At the end of the game this guy goes "LOL I did that on purpose" and they had no reason. Apparently they couldn't understand that they were ruining the game for other people even if they gained enjoyment from farming me themselves.
Hate people like that.. if you're going to farm hooks, at least bring borrowed time or something..
And if I'm the killer and see someone doing that, I usually try to let the unhooked guy go and chase the unhooker (unless the hooked guy was a toxic bag of dicks, then I'll slug him before chasing the other guy)
-

Usually in these situations isn't it better not to be petty? reading it, he only did a little bit, you could of dropped a pallet on him and then let it be. There is petty and then there is petty. Mushwin didn't like your story :(
He opened and closed the locker quite a few times while waiting for the killer to come see what was making that noise. He definitely did it on purpose. Yes it was petty, but don't be a dick if you're not prepared to reap what you sow.

Survivors need only empty hands to genrush, killers need rare Mori 🙄
Exactly. So survivors should bring rare add-ons to genrush, and make mori basekit. Thanks for the suggestion. (yes, that was sarcasm)
but jokes aside, nothing wrong with moris. yes, it sucks getting mori'd first, but not every killer goes for the mori as soon as they can, a lot of them either wait for generators to get done, or for everyone to have been hooked at least once or twice.. Some go for the kill right away though.
Personnaly, I don't bring mori offerings, if I want to mori someone, I bring Devour Hope. I do go for the kill right away after I get my 5 stacks, though, because who knows when it'll be destroyed, but 5 stacks is everyone hooked once and twice for one of them, which means the game has been going on for a bit already, everyone had their chance to enjoy the game, time to die now.
-
@Mushwin said:
Yeah going AFK from the game isn't fair on the survs, if you are having a bad game just try and do what you can to make the game go faster. Is what i do, and then like the rest of us you can scream and swear and kick a pillow across the room in your fustration.
I agree with you, but in his scenario, they were ignoring the generators on purpose just for the sake of being dicks. I would also have been tempted to disconnect, rather waste 5 minutes penalty than 5+ in the game doing nothing useful.
But I usually just go through with it and honestly, sometimes in games like this, I end up winning because they stopped doing generators. Or I get a kill or two and the others decide to finish and leave.
-
Moris are fine
Survivors genrush
Killers killrush
