This just puts more survs into red ranks as well. Since it takes more killer games with free points for them to derank. Have a bad game? No problem. Here you go. A free game with a deranking killer. We will give you back that pip you just lost.

Yeah really. I'm a better killer than I am a survivor, and yet I'm rank 3-5 survivor and rank 8-10 killer, because pipping is so easy on survivor and you don't need to do that well to pip, you just need to make sure you don't die too fast.

Can't wait for the "upcoming" matchmaking/ranking changes

  • Deranking system is broken since they changed it a few months ago. They need to rework it and make people derank two colors back, not just one. Too many people get to red ranks when they shouldn't because they don't derank far back enough, so now low ranked killers get high ranked survivors, because there's no one within their player rank to play against, and they prioritize faster queue times over evenly ranked matches (which makes sense, I rather play against a group of high ranked survivors than waiting 10 minutes to get a group at my rank)

  • @28_stabs said:

I call it "easy Rancor", but you can do with OoO whatever you like.

Also, Ghostface and Wraith are undetectable. OoO mindgame themselves.

Pig and tier 1 Myers are also undetectable. So fun seeing their aura at the start of the game and making a beeline for the easy target, since you see their auras until your radius comes back.. which is basically the same exact moment they get stabbed in the face.

  • Skipped most responses but..

I don't see why it should be nerfed.

Yes it's annoying to play against, but it's so rare to run across that I don't give a #########. If they want to waste a perk slot for a beacon that shows where they are to the killer at all times, it's their business.

But I do love playing against an Object of Obsession player as Pig.. with Third Seal..

If you run across people using that perk enough to want them to change it, maybe you should either run Third Seal, too, or play stealth killers more, or bring add-ons that gives blindness. Or, you know, go for the other survivors and ignore the one that's obviously just there as bait so the others can get generators done.

While I understand why you might be frustrated, there was never an official announce for a release date for this week. As you mentioned, the 2 weeks schedule isn't set in stone, the proof being that we are currently trying something different. Knowing that and knowing there wasn't an official date announced, you made a personal decision. We cannot reconsider our schedule around that.

If you want to know, the reason we didn't announce a release this week is because we didn't plan to release this week, we are reviewing our update processes, which includes the scheduling. The goal this time was to leave more time between PTB and Chapter release, and hopefully be able to address more issues before release.

    Hope that helps!

I honestly rather wait a week more and have less bugs than a rushed release that needs to get hotfixed the next day.

  • Yeah.. Only hexes I run are Third Seal and Devour Hope. Sometimes Lullaby, but it's usually not worth it.. if I can get 5 stacks fast enough to make the perk worth it before too many generators get done, it means I can also just win the game without the perk in the first place.

  • @CrassardStreams said:

Can I ask why you use that Hex? If I wanna slug I typically use Knockout. I have an aversion to hexes because then you have this thing in the back of your mind that'll likely be dead in 30 seconds to a minute anyway. At least ruin does something in that time, even if it's not much.

Why not? I don't like running the meta perks just because everyone runs them. I run perks I like running.

As to why.. because it's fun and it catches survivors by surprise, no one runs that one. And it's more powerful than people realize. A lot of survivors run aura reading perks.

Sure, it's a Hex perk.. so sometimes it gets cleansed after 30 seconds, other times it lasts the entire match.

I’ve never understood why it doesn’t also increase toolbox sabo speed & efficiency, kinda like Botany Knowledge.

It increases the duration the hook stays broken. Can't have it all, I guess.

  • That'll definitely make Trapper overpowered, expect a Trapper nerf mid-chapter

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

There are toolboxes specifically for sabo'ing though. Alex's Toolbox for one.

And add-ons. Everyone I see sabotaging hooks use toolboxes, never the perk.

    @Tactless_Ninja said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1090377#Comment_1090377

It can't be powerful enough to replace toolboxes. And you need to take into account a full team of saboteurs and how they could affect the game.

Maybe jury-rig it so the aura doesn't show for killer or make Kobe'ing off the hook 100%?

.. what about a big no for the 100% unhook? Seriously what the hell kind of broken ass suggestion is that

  • If you want to sabotage faster, bring a toolbox.

It works the same way self care does. Half speed without an item, faster healing for selfcare, and longer sabotage time for saboteur. I agree the 10/20/30 extra seconds is a bit of a joke and could easily be boosted to 15 or 20 seconds per level for a full minute longer (33% longer than the basic 3 minutes)

And a big no for hook aura reading.

  • @MisterCremaster said:

Killers should have the option to open the exit games and start EGC at any point. Problem solved

No. Then you'd have toxic killers just go for the gates as soon as the match starts, and ruin things for everyone involved. That would only make things worse.

  • @ratsmacker said:

Imo both of these perks are fine as is. I feel like being able to see the survivors would just be like.. Too easy. Maybe they could do that for thrill but for spies it would be unnecessary.

I feel the same about Spies.. if you're close enough, you don't need the aura reading. If they disturb crows in a chase, you know which way they're going already... if not during a chase, you know behind which rock they're hiding.

  • On survivor, Facebook and Discord I guess, sometimes youtube, if there are new videos I want to watch.

On killer, nothing though since lobbies were near instant for me..

Then BingBoi hauled off and slapped dweet upside the dome. Then proceeded to tunnel him for a couple hooks for being a dingus.

When BigD eventually DCd wraith came back and led me around to a couple gens. Wed had another DC by then so Wraith just kinda adopted me.

We were very happy until egc, when he spanked me stupid and hung me on the hook for funsies.

At least killers see through these idiots actions and don't punish the wrong people too often for being matched with the wrong people.

    Story Time:

I'm a rank 11 survivor because I play the game like 3 days a week and killer when solo but will play survivor with my gf who is a rank 1 when we both get on.

Shockingly, I'm not boosted, in fact I often get most or second most points on leaderboard over survivors who are 8+ ranks above me (rank 1-3s). I had to learn how to play in a trial by fire basically, 'git gud or suffer'. I chose to git gud.

Needless to say, my rank and actual skill are nowhere related. I play closer to a rank 4 or 5 in actual skill. I know my things. And I know them rather well.

We were in a game against a hag, not a difficult gane honestly, but there was a ttv and another person who were definitely duo queued as well. One was a Nea and the other a Steve I think.

This Nea was an honest to god 1-trick pony. Whenever she got into a chase, she ran immediately to the killer shack (this was before 1 gen had even been popped). This doesn't sound bad, until they know I'm working on the gen in the killet shack, 90% done, and they run the killer right there. Hag has pop, completely ducks the progress, I get back on, Hag leaves her and can't find me or anyone else. Nea comes back, works on it, ttv gets downed, Nea runs towards them, ttv hooked, Hag chases Nea, and guess where Nea runs, with the gen now 95% done? Right back to the shack.

One other gen gets done and then the Hag kicks the gen with pop, obviously, and Nea goes back towards the save. Nea gets in a chase while taking the aggro for the ttv, takes a hit, and you wanna know exactly where she runs? Back to the killer shack.

She was running and coming in on the pallet-side of the shack.. I stepped into the doorway, blocked her from coming in, slammed the pallet in her face, teabagged as she got downed, then just gave myself away because my gf and I were over that match because neither of the other two could manage to do a gen.

Morale of the Story: Don't be a one trick pony at a loop where you know someone is working on a gen.

TL;DR, One trick pony Nea got sandbagged for running the killer to a gen that was over 90% completed each time.

Wow seriously.. Good for you to block her and drop the pallet in her face like that. Doing it once, sure.. But many times in a row? Maybe she should learn not to get spotted in the first place if all she knows is looping at the shack

  • Third Seal is one of my go-to perks on Pig, and honestly, allowing blindness to hide boxes would be brutal. You'd definitely end up killing everyone with traps if it worked that way. Might try a match with the face mask on top of third seal.. Haven't used add-ons on her in forever.

Not my problem, I don't do toxic builds. Still is childish to disconnect because the killer's running a build you don't like, though.

  • Yeah true. But wouldn't increasing the cap just essentially be the same as the bonus bloodpoints offerings we already have? If you increase the cap by 50-75-100 points.. Heck, it would be even worse, since you would need to reach those caps, the other ones are multipliers, so you get more points per action already

This would definitely end up making survivors get way too many objective points if they do co-op action on generators using Prove Thyself., the way things are now, you can max out on objective after a generator and a half.. can't imagine how many points you could get without the 8,000 points limit

What sound sound stands out most when you play DbD? For me it’s the screaming, and from all the screams in the game, Claudette has the best screams. The voice actor did a phenomenal job.

As much as I liked Ash and his franchise, I don’t think Bruce Campbell is that great of an actor. Entertaining, yes, but that’s about it.

That’s not to say the other voice actors are bad, but for me, I think Claudette is the best.

I hate Feng's screaming/whining when I hit her.. God it's such an annoying sound!

Yeah that's different screw that guy, he wanted to finish his daily and sacrifice you anyway

Yeah most likely. I know I farmed for that one challenge. Survivors were in the exit gate waiting for me, so I just placed a trap next to it and backed away.. one of them came in to step on it, I reset the trap, and they stepped on a few times, then they left. I could have gotten it the normal way, probably, but I'm not a trapper player,. but yeah, at least I wasn't a dick about it, overtrapping hooks and whatnot. Trapper's the kind of killer I either get 0 traps, or 10 of them in a single game. But once people know it's trapper, there's no chance for me to get traps because people are too careful.

I appreciate the understanding at least. I'm pretty poor,by Western standards. Disabled and all that. When I started playing online I went out of my way to get the best internet I could afford. Even made them make a new jack and give me basically a direct line because it's a huge old crappy apartment building ha.

I've only ever had it disconnect if there was damage outside. Maybe 6 times in 5 years. I do get a crash here and there, but it's usually on the load screen. Hopefully someday they'll have the good stuff everywhere,at a price people could afford. As for PC stuff, yeah it's not cheap. Mine is so screwed I just switched to PS4 for awhile lol.

Devs were caught between a rock and a hard place. People wanted the penalty (some think it's good enough, some think it's too harsh, some think it's not harsh enough) but they also had to consider legit disconnects, crashes etc.

Sorry to hear.. but at least you have a way to enjoy games, so that's good :)

Yeah PCs can get expensive.. mine's a few years old. Runs lots of games, but not the most recent and more demanding ones. No biggie, I'm not interested in those, yet..

And I guess at least with the PS4, you don't need to upgrade, just need a stable enough connection for online gaming, which you seem to have ;) Fast connection for games is only useful for downloads, once you have the game installed and running, as long as it doesn't cut too often you're good

Players like this know what they're doing, they dont like farming because for them its try super hard or die, I messaged the one that died and said they must have done that because we were farming and you wouldn't farm, he literally said yeah I know I dont like playing that way so I'm good with it. I dont farm much, not even for dc survivors anymore, maybe for daily's on a killer that I just prestiged or a rift challenge, but people like this that you can drop twice while whacking a gen and run off and try hard, I kill them, it pisses me off.

I barely ever farm on killer. I did the other day with a group that just hid in the basement until I found them (took longer than it should have) but in general, if I farm, it's on the survivor side, and it's because the killer decided to. Sometimes it's obvious I could have just died long ago and they decide to let me live for some reason or another, or down everyone, then let us finish the last generators because the game would have ended too fast. Or if it's obvious they want to do a challenge and weren't toxic during the game. Had a trapper one time, tunneled and camped every hook, I was the last survivor and he put traps on the ground around me and then picks me and lets me wiggle off.. I think he was either doing a daily, or that trapper rift challenge. I kept running away towards one of the gates. He called me stupid in the chat after he finally hooked me.. Yeah you tunneled and camped my friends, as if I'm going to help you get your challenge!

I'm not going to argue, because you're mostly right. I'm just kinda saying at least that's a reasonable excuse compared to some others. The fastest I can get is 25 down 4 up. It's really stable though. Some of my friends further out of town can't even pull 5 down and 500kbps up. Not stable. Same provider. That's unplayable...and they still try to play NASCAR and GTA Online lol.

Yeah you shouldn't punish others for having crap gear though. Everyone isn't in the position to spend money they don't have. So yeah, maybe play another game or take the penalties, complaining isn't going to do much unless it's abused or becomes a huge issue somehow. I just like hearing what people think.

Yeah it sucks penalizing them for not having the money or living in the wrong place, but at the same time.. them disconnecting/crashing all the time disrupts everyone else's game, not just theirs. That's where I have a problem. If it was an MMORPG or something, where people log on and off all the time, it wouldn't matter, but it's not.

I personally love spies. I use it with my GF while stalking so I can easily catch them off guard, or when they're trying to hide mid-chase only to have a crow give them away. Haven't got Pig so never used Hangmans, but it does sound like a pretty handy perk to have.

It's mostly handy if they do sabotages, honestly.. Otherwise it's a bit of a wasted perk slot. But I've had games where some of them tried to prepare hooks for sabotage, and it let me know where they were right away, good for finding people. And chain sacrificing survivors on the same hook is great. One of the groups that sabotaged was doing it just for kicks.. I sacrificed one on a hook while the other was slugged nearby.. waited 5 seconds, picked them and hooked them as soon as the hook respawned.. one of them was a streamer too, I joined their stream afterwards "Sorry for spoiling your sabotage fun" "I wasn't sure if you had the perk or not, you kept showing up as we were doing it!" My record is 3 on the same hook ;) Have yet to get all 4

I still think people should able to voice legit concerns. I mean, but some excuses are stupid,if my house was on fire,I'm not gonna care I'm gonna get a soft ban. I think we do have to keep in mind that not everyone lives somewhere where there's quick stable internet. Might not be a case of "just get something better". Not everyone has money to upgrade their kit either.

No, but honestly, if your computer or internet connection can't handle the game without crashing all the time, as they claim, maybe this game is not for you. There are much less demanding games out there. Offline ones, too.

  • @kazakun said:

Is that really all the penalty is? Like a minute or something? What was the point then? I've seen games that toss you a half hour penalty first time. What's the highest it can go? Does anyone know?

It's something like 5 minutes the first two times, then 15 twice, then 30 twice, then 60

Honestly, it's pretty tame, but people get all riled up over it nonetheless.

  • @Peanits said:

I definitely don't. As a killer, people would expect me to farm or go easy when I really just wanted to play the game. A lot of the time they'll just sit there and refuse to actually get chased. As a survivor, we would be at a huge disadvantage right out of the gate and probably die.

I'd much rather just move on to the next match.

I hated when survivors expected to leave the game alive, or for the last one to get the hatch, just because someone didn't load in (or disconnected in the early game, really)

Seriously.. I rather play the game normally, if I don't want to farm, you have no say in it. Or if I do want to farm, I'll make it less obvious, go for two hooks on everyone before going for the final hooks, so everyone has a chance to play, but I won't sit there watching them work on generators so they can get more points and be bored out of my ass.

  • @joker7997 said:

I was farming as killer once because someone insta dc on the survivors. Adam and Claudette got the message, but Jake went all try hard trying to do the gens and get out before anyone could get any bps. So Adam and Claudette got their unhooks off each other, and I had to hunt Jake down. I hooked him expecting one of the others to unhook him. They spent 3/4 of the egc pretending to unhook and teabagging him while I watched. Then they ran out the exit gate. Did not expect that lol.

    Haha

Had a few games like that, on both sides, where it was obvious it was a farming game, but one of the survivors just hid when the killer was nearby, or did generators and then opened the gate and left, while the others weren't even done dropping pallets or whatever else you can do to farm.

Some killers are easier to let people know you want to farm. But I don't understand how some people don't get the universal sign of smacking the generator while carrying someone and dropping them a few times so they can get back up.. had a survivor once get pissed because the killer was farming because someone disconnected "play the game like normal!" "well someone disconnected it's hardly a normal game, I want to maximize my points and not feel like I wasted my time"
