(yes, I am rewatching Phineas and Ferb; no, I don't know why I made this)
It's almost like I was living his life with him!😄
-
James A. Janisse is charismatic and enthusiastic host, which really makes the show. The fact there's information about behind the scenes, bios, humour - it's a great show!
Also gotta love the 80's-sounding theme for it. It's short, but there's something about it which makes me nostalgic.
-
What people are forgetting is the faces are based of PSone graphics. Replicating the face exactly to those specs would make them look even weirder.
On top of that, no matter what they did, someone somewhere would have an issue.
-
They feel canon, and the back stories work well. Would be interesting to get something up in the Archives though!
What supplements this is the idea these killers and survivors are from many different worlds and universes. The multiverse theory also aids with creating alternate outcomes for the licensed peeps, as - for example - Cheryl Mason in the Silent Hill lore escapes the clutches of the cult and lives out a better life, but in one alternate path she finds herself facing another darkness; this one more cosmic than paranormal.
On a side note, there's probably a Silent Hill where all the Hell that happens is just the effects of the drug problem in Silent Hill and there is no cult nor Sun Goddess - just a lot of people having bad trips.
-
Survivor:
Most Underated Perk: Deja Vu. That perk is the ultimate strategy tool. Whilst maps and certain perks may provide a more detailed picture, Deja Vu focuses on what matters - strategically controlling the playing field and making it increasingly hard for the killer to protect the gens.
Most Overrated Perk: Adrenaline. If a survivor is just injured and it triggers, then it has some worth. And yet from dying to injured pretty much sets them up for a fall, as the killer simply strikes them down quickly again. Also, NOED does away with Adrenaline entirely.
Killer:
Most Underrated Perk: Dark Devotion.A great way for completely throwing off survivors and causing a state of distress, even when the killer is the other side of the map. A terrific perk for spreading misinformation.
Most Overrated Perk: Make Your Choice. To be honest, I couldn't really find a killer perk, but with this perk I've very rarely seen this having any returns for bringing it in.
-
Try it out a few times and see what you get from it. Just because someone may not see the point doesn't mean it's going to be the same for you. It's how your playstyle incorporates the perk that's important.
-
Both are good in their own ways, depending on how they're learnt. I couldn't say one is better than the other because they provide 2 different powers and playstyles. The only real reason someone would say one is better than the other is because the playstyle required for that Killer suits that player better.
The player is the one who determines which Killer is better based on their skills. It's all subjective.
-
Really if the survivor is aware they're being hunted, and Deathslinger is hunting, then if the shot doesn't land it's most likely both combined. A mix between weaving and missing. Really, the only exception would be if the Deathslinger remained completely undetected, the survivor was unaware, and the Deathslinger still misses. Then that's completely on Caleb.
-
The Ghost Face is what would happen if Scooby Doo made a third real life movie, directed by Uwe Bohl. He's like The Legion, but even more of a loser.
-
The Mori could be very unique, but a jumpscare bunny doesn't really appeal to me that much.
We already have an Elephant and a bunch of bunny outfits already.
-
There would be a good opportunity for a Mori and power with Pinhead. Something about him makes me think of a Killer with the speed of Nurse, but can utilise chains and hooks to such aggressive limits that speed would have no real repercussion.
The map could be a lot of fun too in Hell!
-
It's the absurdity in The Executioner's shape and appearance which gets me more than the others.

I have found in life in general, unsolicited advice is rarely well received.
Yeah, true. However, maybe if I mentioned that they were being salty to me straight off and I was actually trying to be nice with a small piece of advice as to something I noticed in their playstyle. Tips can be useful! Probably not with bitter people though.
-
There have been absolutely loads for me, but my most recent actually was from being absolutely crushed by a red rank SWF, after which all 4 contacted me with kind words, apologies (no idea why!) and just general kindness. They even tried to give me a sacrifice at the end as a wounded Nea ran straight up to me. I floored her, but instead took her to the Exit Gates - I think they admired that.
Other than that it's the moments of silliness, like when the hill glitch was in place and with one survivor stuck, the other 3 and I as Wraith tried to free them, before I decided to focus all my attacks on the hill whilst they pointed at it and teabagged it - When Killer amd Survivor join forces, the toxicity against hills is darn real!
-
If you're genuine, there is nothing wrong with it. Only bad losers would see offence in it.
-
Pyramid Head. The screeching sound as it drags its knife along the floor is still as chilling as it was in the games.
-
Here's a few of mine:
• I think Marmite is alright. I don't love it and don't hate it.
• Socks in sandals are perfectly acceptable.
• Deja Vu is a really good perk.
• Moles are one of the most beautiful creatures of nature.
• The use of the word "super" is excessive and grossly uninventive, and does not make you cool.
• Saying "Not gonna lie" does not mean people will suddenly believe you more than if you decided to not jump on the "cool-phrase-bandwagon"
• Mansun were better than Oasis
• Bardcore and Chap-hop should be way more popular than they are.
• I can find nothing appealing about Glamping.
• Bounty chocolate bars are disgusting - coconut and chocolate is wrong.
-
It's just those certain players who never take responsibility for their own inadequacies and will continue to be stuck in some gluey headspace, content to think if they don't win that it's clearly anybody elses fault but their own. They may also be 8.
Their rank may be 1, but as has been discussed, proven and experienced many times rank does not equal skill. It simply means enough games were played to make it through to that rank. I'm not saying there are no good red rank players - that would be ludicrous. However, if a green rank can beat red ranks both as Killer and Survivor, then ranks are not a solid indicator.
Keep playing as good as you are and who knows: You may actually face players who are gracious in defeat! And those will be the greats at this game eve⁰ntually.
-
Pyramid Head is a great presence on the map and one of my favourite Killers to go against. Having unusually monstrous Killers like The Executioner and The Demogorgon adds an extra element of anxiety I actually enjoy.
On top of that, there are a number of Killers who have tactics to cut loops - some much more successful than others - but Huntress, Trapper, Clown, Spirit, Hag, Legion, Plague, Nurse, Doctor, Deathslinger and Pyramid Head all have certain ways of cutting loops short (Legion is very weak, but Feral Frenzy cuts the usefulness of a pallet in delaying the pursuit).
It's just how you use a Killer or perks. It's not guaranteed every time to work, and if it were it would be broken. More anti-loop Killers would be welcome, but I would warn against focusing on that aspect of the game primarily. With inventiveness, there will be other Killers that could put pressure in other aspects. Maybe a Killer which focuses on sound, or another which preys on different statuses or tactics.
The more variety and ideas, the better. Probably also good to see different Killers as different difficulty levels. If people want to feel dominant, sure maybe they perfect Spirit or Nurse, but it's much more impressive to see a dominating Clown or Legion ... maybe there already is!
-
-
There's no reason to feel you have to justify anything. If you have a perk or add-on or offering or item and want to use it, then use it. That's most probably what your opponent is thinking their end also.
-
I think you'd need an operation to change your mind on that one - HERMAN! I HAVE A PATIENT FOR YOU!
(I know it's a joke btw :p)

Well... I wouldn't call it realism since we're playing a game in a alternate dimension that's owned by a omnipotent entity... I'd say it's more for the sake of balance I guess? Idk...
Point taken, but I guess within the trial where the contact is physical it would be nice to have at least that part of the realm making sense (I'm ignoring Huntress hit boxes as well :D).
-
Camping does happen to me, but rarely. I don't consider patrolling an area around me to spot for survivors, or chasing survivors who hang around the hook as camping. I've been face-camped exceptionally rarely, and one time I fully deserved it.
Tunnelling does happen, and the tendency for it being more often done by newer players getting used to the game, or during the end game - both of which I can understand. On the rare occasion I'm tunneled by a more experienced individual it's annoying.
However, whatever happens, being bitter in post-chat about it is absolutely pointless; making the Killer laugh and only making the tunneled individual more angry. Best to accept it and move on.
-
Dead Hard only needs a minor tweak for realism, which is to not to be able to Dead Hard through a Killer (and even then, it's not as if it annoys me).
It's a good defence and a strong perk, but as has been mentioned before it's also got the potential to act less like a perk and more a hinderance (misjudging using it, dead hard into a wall).
I don't think it needs any change, other than for realism.
-
I'm pretty sure now that - at some point or another - every Killer has been dubbed OP, for no other reason than losing to them.
There will come a day when someone will declare a Survivor on adept is OP!
In fairness, I did have a match against a red rank, 2 x purple rank and yellow rank as Wraith with no add-ons and Bloodhound/Thrill of the Hunt/Insidious perks (darn randomized perks!) and got a 4K. Maybe there is something to it...
-
First of all, really chuffed to hear a romance story because of this game. Games have more power to help shape lives than is probably assumed. I'm glad it's provided you and your partner with that opportunity.
With regards to playing for fun, I've always looked at YouTube videos such as Ohmwrecker or WorstPremadeEver, where the guys play their games with a lot of fun and joy. I understand they're well-known, etc, etc, but people could consider still to be just fair to others, rather than trying to setup videos for 4gamers that show them as great and others as bad.
Just enjoy the silliness! Enjoy playing well, but it is just a game. Lofe is way more than that.
-
Any game that's tense or exciting, and everyone does their best, or at least the player being gg'd did well.
I once had a guy say they refused to gg because of a dc. I respected that, as just because I had a decent game doesn't mean their experience will be the same, but told them I gg'd for their skill, to which they replied they will gg for my respectfulness and sportsmanship. They were a better player than I, and I gave them the hatch at the end, understanding the uphill struggle they had.
-
I got called a hacker once, and even when I explained to them about The Trappers red add-on that puts Survivors who free themselves into a dying state they still weren't convinced.
Granted, there have been times I've not understood an ability a Killer has, or an add-on I was not aware of, but I've always had the good sense to check those add-ons on the results page to understand, rather than just blindly report because it doesn't "feel legit".
-
I liked the initial idea, and how they were used on The Deathslinger and The Executioner maps. This issue I have comes with the re-evaluation of older maps.
The breakable walls seem to have been placed where existing doors once were, whereas I'd rather have breakable walls in areas no door or vault have been previously. I have yet to witness how this has dramatically changed play.
-
The design of Herobrine as a block-designed character would grate heavily against the visuals of DBD to be effective, especially with the graphical overhaul currently being implemented.
What they could do instead is use Herobrine as inspiration. Maybe, instead of a character of a deceased person within the videogame, they make a Killer that feels out of place within the realm. Like Freddy, it seems to phase in and out, and maybe the story could be of a Survivor thrown into the void but somehow their soul has split or created a Killer that is able to stay within the realm.
Convoluted, yes. Needs a lot of work. But whilst Herobrine is a creepy urban legend, his design would cause issues with immersion and certainly from a horror perspective it would be comical to be chased by a lump of boxes.
-
Nothing at present, although I'll be starting "Silent Hill" in the next day or 2 on the PSone.
I don't think I can count Mah Jong can I?
-
I got berated by a red rank 1 for trying to give them tips to improve their game. How dare a rank 11 tell them - a rank 1 - how to play! The fact I was trying to help them after I had just sacrificed them, when they became rather bitter in their first post game chat after me..
It is just a game. Play as you would in either role. Yet I'd say people should play both equally to understand how each side feel.
-
I play 50/50, and that's the same way in which I enjoy playing whichever role:
As Survivor, I play solo, so when you get those moments where everybody works exquisitly as a team with comms, or saves a Survivor during endgame it's brilliant! Likewise, I enjoy the tension of escaping or evading Killers.
With the Killer role it's that feeling of chasing and overwhelming Survivors, especially if I can create a panic or avalanche of attacks. I also enjoy the individual abilities.
Ultimately, I just like randomizing builds and perks, and seeing where they take me.
-
It is frustrating if you see one Survivor after another downed to the point all you see are red bodies dragging themselves around. However, it's the fellow Survivors I'm aggrieved at.
Having all Survivors clustered around like that is not clever. It's how Killers can turn the tide, and any Killer seeing such a mess will not knock a gift horse in the mouth. It's to be expected, and especially with The Cannibal it's deserved punishment.
Endgame slugging is also tactical. To slug all 4 early is poor play by the Survivors. Do not grant Killers such an opportunity.
-
There have been quite a few other attempts at this specific style of survival horror games, which have been mentioned within this thread. Even now, "Phasmophobia" is gaining a steady following, with plans on adding the option to be the ghost in future (there's no plan for console scheduled). So it's not accurate to say it has a monopoly as it is not the only seller in this market.
It has a very successful business model, and despite the various complaints it received, it has devised and expanded on an idea - perhaps inspired by Left 4 Dead's showing that asymmetrical horror works - and developed its own place. Even if like-for-like, Identity V proves it's not a monopoly.
There will be more and more challengers in future. But they would need to come up with something original.
-
I really enjoy taking on a good Demogorgon player, as well as Oni or Executioner. Those more monstrous Killers have a presence on the map which gets the adrenalin pumping.
Michael Myers is an odd one though: I both hate and love facing him. He's the anti-marmite out of all the Killers.
-
I'm on the spectrum, and have a group of various conditions including ADHD (I believe it should be ADD, but still). The main thing is, whatever happens, do not let it define you. ADHD is only a small part of who you are, and if you functioned well before then this diagnosis will not change you for the worse. Having a diagnosis may help in terms of what can be done to aid you in future.
It may be worth taking your parents to this and other potential appointments. My mother still doesn't understand mental illness, but that's due to a lack of understanding. Invite them to come with you for all meetings and help educate them. Their support will be useful, as well as your friends.
I wish you well :)

I think every killer is probably genuinely terrified by the Blight. You have to remember, he was able to kidnap and experiment on them, when he was a survivor. Remember, the Entity gives Killers super powers so the fact that a survivor was able to get the upperhand on over a dozen killers is kind of mind blowing. If they saw him now, they'd probably either hate and fear him and keep their distance, or feel vindicated considering what he's turned into.
I'd agree, and the only 2 Killers who probably would be relaxed enough to be with The Blight would be Myers and Pyramid Head. The Demogorgon may be okay, but only because I don't know whether it would be able to comprehend who it's in with.
-
I forgot how intimidating she looks! If I remember rightly, her Mori would be an extremely painful way to go.
I'd rank this higher, were she not also in contention against other Outlast killers: Chris Walker/ Eddie Gluskin/ Richard Trager. Yet, Marta would certainly be welcome!
-
-
I would prefer Outlast out of all of them, followed by SCP.
However, Alien still is my top pick, and The Evil Within would also be welcome.
-
I'd probably focus on making it more survivalist: Bigger maps with more variety of challenges; more focused on stealth (although still leave decent room for alternative ways to outwit the opponent).
Also, I'd add more game modes. One mode can have SWF, and then there would be a separate mode which does not allow SWF. In return, Killers on the SWF mode could get the chance for greater rewards, and likewise for the mode banning SWF, Survivors would have the chance to win a greater reward. Basically, the tougher the challenge the greater the reward. Just a rough idea or 2.
-
I don't "hate" The Doctor; he offers an alternative style of play Survivors need to adapt to.
The unfortunate thing is the past 4 Doctors I've faced have patrolled nearby every hooked survivor (only in one case I would say they face-camped), but once those 4 had a hook, they patrolled and then targetted the hooked survivor.
Probably just the fact those types of players were enjoying Doctor at the time, but that's the reason I don't like him at present.
-
It's pretty gutsy of you to say so ... & I applaud you!
I don't have the luxury of playing the PTB, so have relied on various videos and streams by various players. So far it looks like the changes are better for a more balanced play. I've not seen anyone struggle with the PGTW. The other perks have shown how they fit in. It's overall something people can adapt to, and there WILL be future perk changes.
Let the game evolve as is.
-
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I wish you the very best during this difficult time.

I did Demogorgon and Freddy, respectively.
DG is pretty fun for both sides, but I feel it's let down by wimpy personal perks, mostly ineffective add-ons, and a tendency to give WAY too much information to the survivors through audio (though I almost wonder if making his sounds global in more of a Bone Clapper-style "maybe I'm right behind you" sense could improve this in a fun way). Plus its primary power, the portals, are incredibly slow to set up and make use of. These are probably the weakest form of "trap" in DbD.
Freddy isn't as "will they won't they" with his power as Spirit and Deathslinger (though he CAN do this a little bit with Dream Projection), but he is incredibly dull to play against. Doesn't help that most of the popular Freddy builds are geared towards drawing out every match for as long as possible. I guess I don't specifically perceive him as OP (despite him having a ridiculous amount of utility through his abilities), but his power(s) aren't really entertaining to play around or interact with.
I'd bet Spirit will be the most popular pick for "too oppressive" right now, but I think she would be a relatively easy killer to "fix" by just improving the information she provides when using her power (just remove her Husk and maybe add a glass-shattering cue). I don't think she needs a big rework or any major nerfs; it just needs to be far more obvious when she's phasewalking and vaulting windows (because why she also gets this specific and weird advantage is beyond me).
Exactly my vote too! Demo needs something a little more unique to stand him out.
-
Agreed. Some people jump at any change, probably because people don't like change. Pyramid Head and PGTW as prime examples:
So far on PTB Pyramid Head has updated PotD from a shotgun blast to an automatic shotgun blast, and mixing Trail of Torment with PGTW and Dragon's Grip is now absolutely devastating! If anything, The Executioner has now been upgraded. And the reduction of PGTW is hardly noticeable. Far from what some people believed.
A lot of criticism before even being tried is unwarranted.

I don't think it's them being unable to but an attempt to justify the sheer momentum gain from - hooking one survivor, running to that far gen before it finishes - DOWNing the survivor that was on that gen, popping the gen, then rehooking that same survivor to run off to the next gen to do the same. It cuts Killer agency down because they have to make due with an M1 then return to kick the gen as you're usually not getting a 15s down unless they pepega super hard with the time needed to travel on larger maps. It's a valid nerf even if people who don't use pop think it's not going to change anything.
I will reiterate that I think the nerf is fine but killers only players will want to see their DS nerf (Perk disables once the unhooked survivor touches a generator or a hex totem or whatever else) since doing objectives should make you "fair game" considering the time crunch they have to play on. The "45 second for DS too!" meme is just shortsighted and not addressing why the game is unhealthy enough that a bandaid like the "fear of DS" is what makes killers play less scummy
If I remember correctly when the nerf for Ruin happened there followed some more Killer sided changes thereafter. It's a balancing act which is done gradually. So I agree with you that the nerf is fine, and really most people find a way round it and adjust.

If you think this is people's actual complaint there is something seriously wrong with your logical processes.
Then what is the complaint with regards to this specific perk? This is clearly a complaint made by people, so it must be at least one "actual" complaint. Momentum around it would still be available, and people tend to act quickly with PGTW anyway - well within 45 seconds.
