  • Sorry but we have no further information on Switch cross progression - right now it's just between Epic, Steam & Stadia and there is now ETA of when Switch will be added due to technical issues.

You are on here a lot more obviously but i honestly have not seen one person complain about distance and tons complain about it tanking hits for them while still giving all the audio and visual ques of being hit. I have to check the survivor state just to make sure if i hit them or not every time i hit a survivor.

There have been lots of complaints re the hit validation on Dead Hard for sure, but that's more with the validation issue rather than the perk iyswim. It's why when collating feedback it's important to look at all aspects. Before Hit Validation was put on Dead Hard the main complaint about the perk was the dead harding for distance, now the main complaint is the validation itself - which are two separate things.

  • Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas to everyone!

Thank you all for being here throughout this year, I know it's been a rough one for many but I hope 2022 will be better for all.

Have a great holiday season and stay safe <3

@Dr_Loomis thank you for this thread <3

  • Due to the amount of aggression shown in this post, I'm closing it.

  • Agree with TheGannMan here, the most complaints I see about Dead Hard are to do with Dead Harding for distance, and not the avoidance of the attack itself.

  • I think Snapping Out of it is prioritised over Deep Wounds for the reason that it's meant to confuse the survivor and prevent interactions - therefore.

I don't really see it as a big issue due to the length of the Deep Wound timer.

Just curious, are they gonna extend the event like most of the events?

I already have my cosmetics, but I find the snowmen really fun (yes, even as killer).

As far as I'm aware, no plans to extend the Event.

The event works fine for the last two weeks, so what can break just out of nowhere?

I mean, if the game gets hacked or something, or ddos'd, staff still have to go to the office to repair the situation.

I was replying to a comment about taking the Event offline just after the 25th - which as I pointed out nobody is in the office at that point if something goes wrong

  • yepp as TheMadCat has pointed out, if you find a bug that has not yet been reported, then please make a bug report on it.

  • There is currently an issue with Epic Games Launcher which is causing this error.

Do I get an event cosmetic for a random survivor if any survivor escapes with the snowman? And do I just hit a snowman with a survivor inside it to get a cosmetic for a random killer?

You can get a customisation for any character regardless of the role you play.

However, if a survivor escapes in a snowman it's that survivor that will get the random cosmetic. Hitting a survivor in the snowman will give the killer a cosmetic or being hit whilst inside the snowman will give that survivor the cosmetic.

Even so, it doesn't mean that the game goes offline until the team is back from break. You would think that they could program the event to end after the 25th.

And if something goes wrong at that point and prevents people from playing the game?

It's a matter of risk with the Live game...a lot wiser to not have things change when people are not available to fix things.

  • Please remember that Christmas is not the only holiday, which is why it's a Holiday Event and not a specific Christmas Event.

And yes, I think the decision was most likely made because from then the Office is closed and staff are off up until the New Year.

  • I'm sorry that you've been going through such a difficult time...and whilst I can't give any advice, I would strongly suggest that you speak to someone irl, a parent, sibling, friend or reach out to your doctor to discuss things further.

I hope things improve for you going forwards.

  • I think you mean the Pocket Entity Charm that was a Community contest winner (you would have obtained it from the Rift)...I'm afraid we do not have access to your account here on the forum to be able to check this for you, so I would suggest contacting support for assistance in this case: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • With Auric Cells they are platform specific - hence you can't swap them between platforms (as explained in the FAQ I linked you). If you buy Auric Cells on Steam, you can only use them on Steam for example.

  • I am presuming you linked accounts with the Behaviour Account?

If so this is normal, as per the FAQ linked here, Auric Cells are not transferable between platforms.

  • I think that's partly because there's so much content for the game now, if we put everything in those tabs apart from the most recent content - there'd be far too many tabs on there.

I thought I would write this after reading the threads about Tru's video and the one on Lightborn. To understate it, there appears to be a lot of differing opinions on the subject

In my opinion, a lot of the debate comes from differing opinions of 'win' and 'fun'. For me, I win if I have fun; that doesn't necessarily mean kills. A fun game where I get 6 to 8 hooks but zero kills but done in a fun, cool to play against the survivors game is a win to me. Against a bully squad whose only purpose is to annoy me a 4K or 3K with one hatch escape isn't a 'win' because, yeah, I killed the survivors but the game wasn't fun.

For me, a close match where the survivors escape and then tell me my character was terrifying is more fun than when survivors mess around with me just to try to ruin my game and I end up killing all four of them because they eventually will make a mistake and also stick around too long. In one there was player enjoyment and, in the other, there was just antagonistic sweaty tension.

How about you? How does the concept of enjoyment relate to your win condition?

I'm very similar to you, I really don't care about kills but getting my 4 stacks of BBQ and having some fun chases is what makes the match a win in my book. Same when I play survivor, i don't care if I live or die but in the means in which that happens and if I can get a Head On stun off or two, I'm normally pretty happy!

Fun is always the most important thing for me in any game, my time is too limited with my other responsibilities to do things that are not fun in my time off.

I've got a lot of hours in DbD, and I still have fun with it - even though it's partly work for me these days because over 40hrs of a working week are DbD related, I still play on Live in my freetime to enjoy the game.

  • I think if that was the way it was initially in the game, it wouldn't be so bad. But I think the game has come too far for that to work now - players will just dodge if they don't get the role they want etc. And also SWF playing together, if one of them is chosen to play the killer, then that's hardly going to be a great match for a random person or two that's put with them.

I like haddonfield when playing freddy, hag or trapper.

I was going to say, Hag and Trapper probably don't do badly on that map tbh.

House of pain though, I'd rather not chase around there as any other killer!

  • I've not had much trouble with Shadow Step tbh. I've lost one person I think and that was because I made the mistake and they went to a really obvious place...but apart from that, no. I also don't see it in as many games as I see CoH.

  • I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, as you can't buy DLC's from within the in-game store, DLC's are only purchasable from the platform that you're playing on. Some characters themselves can be purchased in-game, via Auric Cells or Iri Shards but these are not full DLC's and will not come with the extra cosmetic that you receive when you purchase a DLC.

  • If you believe that you've encountered a bug, please post in the bug report sub forum - https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs and provide as much information as possible (visual images are also welcome to explain the problem).

  • If you believe that you've found a bug, please use the bug report section to report - and first check if there's been no other report made, if there has please upvote the original report without making a new one (you can add extra information in the comments etc).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

  • I do not believe that any of this will ever be added to the game - for one thing making perks and bp purchasable can actually be defined then as play to win, as players will feel they need to purchase these things in order to do well.

Legacy and Twitch are two things that are specific - and no, neither of them are going to be made purchasable or variations of the same. The closest is the Bight outfits that have a "sparkle" effect similar to Legacy but clearly distinct enough.

precisely, we don't want to play against everyone and I'm on PS4 too, when it's against toxic survivors or totoxic killer we no longer want to come across them

And as I explained that got severely abused and is why it's not implemented

Blocking people who are better than you, should never be a thing - for example one Nurse player I know could barely get a match because he was such a good nurse main and people would block and not play against him. That should never be a thing.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9LEJ7M8IFXXH/inkedscreenshot-5782-li.jpg

is this intentional or a visual bug? it's too hard to see what items survivors are bringing in to the match, especially certain characters like Leon due to his stance/angle.

    This is intentional by design.

  • This is not something that's implemented in the game (only the chat block feature was put in).

There was a time when players could use 3rd party software to block other players (or you'd see those you blocked on Steam) and this was abused by players to block killers/survivors they didn't want to play against. And that's not the nature of the game, so this was removed.

  • Previously the hatch would spawn when there was one more generator completed than survivors alive - and yes, if you opened the hatch then you would automatically jump in.

Since the recent change to the hatch mechanics though, the hatch will now only spawn when there's one survivor left alive (it also opens then ). If the killer closes the hatch, the survivor can open it with a key with a 2.5s animation occurring.

  • Chase mechanic is built on line of sight and the survivor sprinting and Bloodlust relies on the chase mechanic so it's pretty possible to lose bloodlust when losing line of sight of the survivor (as well as losing bloodlust).

Without seeing video with regards to the scratchmark issue, it's kind of hard to give a clear answer as to what happened - perk loadout of the Bill would help for sure.

  • First of all, I would like to clarify that a DDOS attack is a full denial of service, if you still have an internet connection, that's not a dos attack. Just want to clear that up, because quite a few people believe that if they have a connection error and are kicked from the game, that's the same as a ddos attack.

In making a report on players on a different platform, you need the name of the player only. It's only for Steam players that you need the 64ID because Steam players are the only platform where name changes are made regularly - much harder on other platforms to change name, and on some platforms not allowed (or a singular name change only).

So you would need to make a support ticket and give as much information as possible, time of attack etc. You can also give match information and that will help our team to identify the match the attack occurred in...for example characters, map played on etc.

I'm not sure why you're saying that those "things in the game," are not toxic when they are the most commonly referred to actions associated with toxicity in this game. Face camping at five gens, tunneling the same player back to back when objectives are being lost, teabagging killers when the game is won already, and flashlight clicking just in general are definitely toxic behavior without question.

I'll admit that I don't see the messages that moderators get regarding game bans as I'm not in a position to do that so that is promising to hear but I must say that I see plenty of players that should receive bans walk away with no repercussions only to repeat the same behavior again which of course might result in a ban later possibly but the damage has been done and the question remains how many times can these players harass others before justice is served?

I'm glad to hear that hate speech is bannable and enforced, again I have no way of seeing such enforcement and haven't seen mention of it in forums. I understand that smack talk is not bannable and don't expect it to be I was more focusing on the fact that it's a part of the game and contributes to the overall toxicity of this game specifically. To my understanding actions such as holding the game hostage for example are bannable yet from what I've seen on that particular offense it is rarely if ever enforced which I would assume is due to the difficulty in proving it happened and the lack of resources dedicated to enforcing such a multitude of offenses.

Holding the game hostage is bannable - and we do acts on reports of killers holding survivors hostage in corners for example.

  • I honestly feel that the word "toxicity" has lost it's meaning completely. Pretty much the only toxic thing is insults/slurs in the after game chat.

Camping/tunnelling/tbagging/flashlight clicking is not toxic...these are things in the game.

And whilst you don't believe people are banned, if you saw how many messages that moderators get, and how many posts we have to delete due to people trying to appeal or complain about their game ban publicly, you wouldn't say that. Hate speech is bannable - they are temporary bans that do not show on their profiles (referring to Steam profiles here), consoles have their own methods for dealing with hate speech, as there's no in-game chat for these platforms. We do allow a certain amount of "smack talk" which is inevitable in only games, things like "gg ez" "baby killer" "noob" "learn to play" as well as swear words are not bannable, these are part of online multiplayer games (and yes people do report these type of comments).

  • Locking this after deleting some comments.

The OP just seems to want to insult people that disagree with them, that's hardly a valid discussion - apologies to those that actually wanted to have a proper discussion about this.

This post actually got me curious, I wonder how often killers use Cut Coin to reduce the number of chests in a match? Sometimes I’ll use one for the heck of it, usually I stick with generic Bloodpoint offerings or hook distance reducers though. I made poll with this question just now, it’ll be interesting to see if I get responses either way.

I never use one, I actively want survivors to be looking for chests if I can help it

It could also be useful to killers. I was so greedy for one i accidentally let a demo too close to me. On another note, a lot of people ask for side objectives (especially killers). Since keys were nerfed it might also be less problematic to do. But thanks for the answer.

It's true, when I play killer I like it when coins are brought into the match from the survivor side, because I know there's at least one person going around scavenging...but in the interest of balance, we do have to consider the items that are found in chests and how those can affect the game as well.

  • Whilst making more chests available in the trial would good from one point of view, you have to consider the items usuage as well in the game - even one more toolbox etc can be detrimental to the killer side.

  • Please make sure that you are starting the game during the right time frame ie between the hours of 11am est - 10.59am est the following day.

If you are certain that you have done this and have not received the rewards, then please contact Support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • I don't think it will let you put the gamertag section blank, so if you are unable to put it in there - write the reason in that section instead

  • If you can screenshot the name, you can add it in on the report - if you are unable to type out the name.

  • With other platforms other than Steam, all you need to put is the gametag of the player - so the in-game name, as these are not able to be changed as easily on other platforms as they are on Steam (which is why we ask for Steam 64ID for Steam players as players can change names easily on that platform).

If you put that information on the ticket as well as a link to the video evidence, the information can be taken from the report.

  • The Auric Cell charm was temporarily removed from the game, it will return and be given out retrospectively.

Seriousness for a minute - as I already know which way this thread will go otherwise. We're having representation in DbD, it's being worked on with GaymerX, representation is important to many, many people, and if it's not important to you - great, am happy for you. But nobody doubt why representation is important to others on this thread - you can read back through the many threads we've had on this forum and that will help you understand why representation is so important - and also the link put by Mooks, that explains it better than I can.

  • As I replied on your previous thread, that I'm very sorry but Support is inundated at the present time and that tickets are taking longer than usual to get through.

  • This has been asked and answered in the Developer QA and the answer is simply that there are no plans to implement this I'm afraid. I don't have any more information than that.
