"Currently the game map is the only map with any real hook spawn issues."
That's a ridiculous statement.
Not only is Midwich on par with The Game, if not worse when it comes to reaching a hook, indoor maps are also usually worse than outdoor maps. I've had similar issues on Lerys and RPD, where I've been unable to reach a hook due to walls blocking a direct route.
With the shoe on the other foot, I've also made myself unhookable in Lerys before, by going down behind the desk in the central 'office' area with Boil Over, Flip Flop and Tenacity. Right in the middle of the map, the killer was completely unable to hook me.
Additionally many 'open' maps such as the core maps like Coldwind, Autohaven, MacMillan etc. have corners that becomes deadzones if just one hook is consumed.
So no, hook spawn issues are present on virtually every map, and just as survivors can be screwed by the twin hooks on Coldwind, killers can only be screwed as well.
With the free slot you can add built to last and combine that with a Alex's toolbox with add-ons you can also join in on the sabo's if a fellow survivor gets caught
-
Hmm the was preemptively sabo'd you say what's stopping them from doing to the theoretical 2nd hook that your heading to?
A sabo squad would make sure they go down to a area where it would be easy to free their teammate and repeat

Twins

The clown
The oni

Oh I play saboteur in my build in almost all the games I play and know exactly what I am talking about.
In saloon there is chance to get sabo play only if killer is greedy for scourge hooks. Or you are playing 4 man SWF sabo build + you get really lucky (you need to get at least 2 hooks down).
The game is marginally better, but still awful. It's been so many times that I have seen the really small corner upper sections of map having 2 hooks - I can't believe it's even declared minimal 15m.
Acting like a sabo squad can't get two hooks down easily

I'm pretty sure its not just BBQ, its a combo of many things. You know, survivors got theirs also removed, so its not just killers....
Doesn't matter the stacks incentivised killers to leave hook even ones that couldn't take advantage of the aura reading there's a reason why it was one of the most used killer perks
And like we predicted killers started camping more after stacks got removed

Well, its clear that camping and tunneling is effective right now. But its not like you got buffs etc to make other things more worthy. You just proofed why i wrote this thread.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3203148#Comment_3203148
Just because you dont get value out of it, doesnt mean everyone dont get.
Saw many games were gen regression was really good.
Also 10% is much. Especially in multiple chases. It even creates dead zones faster.
The game is designed that you sometimes get pallets in your face. Chases shouldnt be just free downs.
And tunneling had not much counterplay after the update, since DS was nerfed etc. And everything should have a counterplay, so Base Kit BT is fine. Switch target or tunnel anyway. You can avoid the base kit BT.
I still think tunneling and camping shouldnt be rewarding at all.
Oh please we warned people that getting rid of bbq stacks would lead to more camping no matter the buffs you're acting like those buffs offset bbq stacks when they don't not even close
-
If you're against a sabo squad with 2-3 petrified oaks you're not getting that hook off especially if two of them run breakout as the survivor will break free and run back down to the basement
Again I saw this spot almost abused as much as rpd library
-
@Gandor said:

Sure. Same way as everyone is abusing no mither which picks you way sooner then 45s. Oh wait....
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3203164#Comment_3203164
Oh I play saboteur 95% of my matches. I know all the hook spawns better then most killers. Believe me. If there wasn't some kind of survivor's play before (breakdown, mass sabo hook, 2 dead players on same part of map) then you are guaranteed (not counting midwitch) that you will have a hook to use.
But for single midwitch - you have several maps where sabotaging hook does nothing. If you do perfect sabo play (suvivor fell in the middle of 3 hooks so everyone is same distance, killer picks hook you are going to sabotage, you sabotage it to his face, you take hit for carried survivor) and you are on the game or in saloon, then tough luck. The rescue does not happen. And it doesn't matter where this happened, killer will be able to hook. Most of the maps have just zones where sabo is not possible. The game and saloon don't have sabo-possible spot anywhere.
Ahem badham basement with the basement hooks being in killer shack
I know this spot will be abused again like how it was during the boilover fiasco

They will find a million reasons why it’s “broken” before something is even tested. It’s the way of these forums. Lol
Again old boilover and coh

Simple blame the mmr system that's why you can't swap killers anymore

Have you been here back when sabo was permanent and sabo squads, even solo, were rampant? (A thing that made mass slugging popular in the first place)
Or remember the boil over rpd problem?
Or inaccessible spots in Haddon field or other maps? (Roof of the garden hut only accessible by dh of the porch roof for example)
Survivor and killer, or rather player in general will always resort to the most broken stuff they can.
Don't forget about badham and them going into the basement with the hooks being in killer shack
Heck nearly everyone had boilover during that shitshow some even had breakout as well
-
@OrangeBear said:
Since when did every killer player slug regularly?
I don't see this change getting in my way at all. Unless survivor abuse it with unbreakable which i do think should be nerfed with it's announced change.
Remember the old boilover fiasco?
Now imagine the swfs abusing the old broken boilover during that fiasco when they realize base kit unbreakable is a thing
Get ready to see huge maps/maps with huge dead zones and sabo squads with built to last and boilover again

It won't be so funny when we see hordes of Nurses just seeing how fast they can down everyone. Because that's gonna happen, and we're gonna see 60 second matches.
I don't think this update is neither surv or killer sided, but I don't like it at first blush.
Yep and expect more nurses because this update basically says hey go play nurse and if you're not good with her don't worry you will eventually look at how we nerfed these other killers you probably played

Look, twins is an outlier plain and simple, twins is also in need of a rework. Maybe if killers weren't constantly slugging for 4k's this wouldn't of needed to happen. But killers brought this change on themselves.
Ok what about Michael and oni hmmm their power drains while carrying and hooking survivors

The counter to the feature is to do your job, pick up the survivor and hook them.
Oh neat now tell me what happens in the situation where a hook is too far away especially against sabo swfs who bring 2 hook distance offerings and a realm offering that takes them to a map with exploitable spots
I've seen this happen tons while playing both sides during the boilover fiasco and if you think that the situation won't happen again with this buff you're out of your mind

You mean faster Bloodlust in chase?
Longer Gen times?
Faster recovery from hitting, breaking Pallets and going trough windows?
Survivors get less distance after being hit?
Littery things to leave the hoo, go to gens or chase, made better.
Dont forget the buffs to gen regression, where you can focus more on chases.
Camping/would be camper killer: let's see leave hooks for no reason if I decide not to run current bbq for a slightly easier chase and risk losing guaranteed pressure ot a guaranteed 2nd hook state with a possible grab hmmm such a hard choice
Meanwhile a would be camper with old bbq: oh there's my next target getting these stacks will take no time *leaves hook*

I'm having busted boilover unbreakable flashbacks

And if you had just a bit of common sense and actual knowledge regarding ptbs, you'd know the devs wouldn't allow overly broken stuff in live servers. I swear you guys straight up neglected how they fixed the multi hit endurance ptb.
Also btw, you're making the exact same point op was talking about when people were jumping the gun on perks like Inner Strength and Soul Guard
Wrong they let the broken boilover buff through did you forget how survivor swfs were abusing offerings and such just to abuse the perk
So much so that they got boilover nerfed to a sensible state
Also don't forget about coh
-
@Rovend said:
People need to properly test it and come to their own conclusions.
If you think the unbreakable basekit was not needed, you surely have not been bled out constantly just for griefing, or being slugged to ensure that 4k, which are awful situations that MUST BE ADRESSED.
Said that, i cant speak about the balance of this change until i properly test it in ptb, because many things can appear broken on paper.
If you were griefing the killer you deserved the bleedout my guy
And as someone who's been slugged for the 4k this ######### will be abused to all hell with sabo swfs
-
Heck they literally removed a game my group of friends played which was slugs only where the killer could only slug and never hooked because of nurse
-
@RoastedGarlic said:
maybe if you killers didn't constantly slug this wouldnt need to happen. you reap what you sow.
You do realize this isn't going to stop people from slugging
As someone who slugged boilover abusers when if was broken it won't stop a killer from just smaking them back down and repeat until bleedout

Ok where's the buff that incentivises killer to leave the hook?
Old bbq had something that got killers to leave the hook with
-
@Akumakaji said:
People never realised how healthy the old BBQ was for game. While I understand BHVRs stance that they wanted to open up more design space and not auto slot one of the 4 perks, a sad reality that I had felt myself, it incentivised killersto try to hook every survivor atleast once, spreading the love. Some killer players even made getting all 4 stacks their main objective.
And while you hooked survivors, you naturally saw the auras of some far away survivors, often leading to you leaving the hook and go investigating.
Literally one of the most healthy perks in the game
Like if they wanted to free up a perk slot they should've made the bbq stack bonus for hooks base kit
-
@Tsulan said:
Remember when killers said, that removing the BBQ incentive would increase camping and survivors went on like "lul, killers can´t camp any more than they do now!"?
Yeah about that...
Literally a lot of us were saying that removing the bp bonus from bbq would increase camping Both killers and survivors have said that and would you look at that camping and tunneling has increased
Who would've thunk

This isn't taking into account the fact it will never be 45 seconds - it will be 22 seconds every single time.
And swfs will weaponize it.
Oh they most certainly will heck I listed out a big issue with it by just listing out the old boilover abuse strategy that swfs used in its own thread and if someone like me who plays both sides can see how easily this can be abused you know there will be swfs out here weaponizing it

You can just pickup them?
Unbreakable was strong because Killers didn't expect it and survivors could make a use to self pick up.
Did you forget how people abused hook distances with the boilover buff
Swfs will abuse this with sabo builds and flashlights on maps that have huge dead zones in them

Hell yeah, i mainly play survivor but facecamping killers are the ultimate satisfaction.
And if it's a basement bubba with insidious, cherry on top <3
Ah a fellow survivor who finds satisfaction in getting the killer to face camp them
-
How to never get hooked as survivor:
Perks: built to last,unbreakable,boilover, saboteur(if you don't bring a toolbox for sabo's) or boon: coh
Tools: Alex's toolbox or a flashlight with battery add-ons
Offerings: any offering that takes you to a realm that you can exploit spots in ie badham preschool
Step 2: have a buddy run a offering that makes the basement spawn in killer shack if you decide to go to badham and run the same build as you with a optional 2nd buddy run a offering that increases the distance between hooks
Step 3: go to a spot where you know a killer won't be able to hook you if you go down
Step 4: enjoy getting slugged over and over until you bleedout

She got buffed tho. If she gets everyone in any combination of downed/hooked/dead within 45 seconds she wins the match on the spot. Its a buff to her since she's going to have the easiest time doing it in pretty much every configuration, and it'll completely skip any and all comeback factors that would be able to counter it unless they get used to prevent it within that window. Cheers!
That's the funny thing they failed to nerf her by actually buffing her with this change
It's like bhvr wants every killer to be nurse
-
Did they forget about how some killers powers revolve around slugging ie myers and oni
Ffs just nerf the nurse already instead of giving roundabout solutions that won't work on her but said solutions nerfs other killers
-
@adam1233467 said:

No need to make up stuff. People didn't leave in mass when COH was introduced. Survivor queue time didn't increase. Entertainment value in being a killer is being in chases. COH didn't reduce killer time in chase. Now, imagine if they added 10 second hook cooldown, when all you could do is just stand without moving wiping your weapon.. That would surely make people leave.
Steam charts literally showed many people leaving after coh was introduced

Literally Houses almost can be an infinite for M1 Killers on new Haddonfield. Got Bamboozle? Dont matter there are enough windows into the next house connected together to make it miserable as Killer. But i agree outside is mostly one huge Deadzone.
You Can also hide in the dark places of houses as well

I've found the offering is usually run by the guy with Balanced Landing that wants to sit in the Saloon the entire game with the hopes that you'll chase him there, losing the game in the process
As someone who uses balanced landing and uses a offering while playing with a friend i take offense with that
I just like playing dead dawg saloon as survivor tbh I just love the western design also its easy to stay away from the killer thanks to the upper levels of the map that's not the main building lol

I know one thing I'm going to mute my monitor while I play as Rebecca lol

Survivor: 5
Killer: 2(I count 3ks as wins and 2ks as draws)

Depends on the type of survivor that's last if they were a part of a Sabo, rpd,boon abusing swf heck no

That perk literally got nerfed because people complained about it. Don't make a half baked bad faith argument like it wasn't in the PTB so that's different. It would've been the same result but in slightly less time.
None of the drivel your presented is relevant to the fact that perks get changed all the time because BVHR loves the lowest common denominator.
Original MoM was the definition of pay to win
Everyone with common sense saw that
It was the main reason people got ash
It was going to get nerfed even if people didn't complain about it as it was everywhere

Bubba: basement is my home

Legion: love running and stabbing
Nemesis: I love the zombies

-
The way I see it the bleedout system should work kinda like how cod zombies how you bleedout faster when crawling so it would be risky to crawl(tbh I just want it to work like that so fellow survivors would stop crawling so much and focus on recovering so many times I had a teammate crawl to me while I'm being chased only to have the meter at 80%)

Big value to the way these BP boosts worked as well is that they gave little successes, even if you lost the game. Even if you get mori'd, 'well at least I got three WGLF stacks!'. Even if you 0K, 'well, at least I got four BBQ stacks!'.
It helps make the game more consistently satisfying and rewarding.
It also reduced tunneling as you couldn't get more than 1 stack on a single survivor so you had to go hunt for those stacks
-
@Pulsar said:
