Yeah killers can still see your aura in them and legion can still get you with killer instinct in it. All it does is blind you and your fellow teammates
-
The real question here is how do they implement this feature without making it beneficial for survivors to hide for 10 minutes and get a draw while also making it not beneficial for killers to simply camp a 3 gen just to force an abandon so they can win? Also how to implement this so that 4 man slugs aren’t beneficial for the killers.
I feel like those are the things they’re trying to prevent but struggling to balance here. I do want to point out tho that survivors can’t force an abandon after no gens for 10 minutes.
The killer still has to choose the abandon option if they want to, it’s not instant. So what if the killer doesn’t abandon? Then survivors who try to cheese this are stuck hiding in a match for no reason and wasting their own time and will eventually be found.

This killer normalizes looping the killer and not pre running. Sorry that he's slightly overtuned but somebody had to put a stop to pre running everything as a solution.
Releasing overtuned killers is not a solution to a playstyle that you don’t like nor is it healthy for the game in the long run.

Said like that, it sounds like it’s used just for fun — not because it was ridiculously unbalanced at launch and still is today. We've normalized a killer being able to injure survivors for free, having extreme mobility, and, on top of that, multiple advantages to end chases. And that’s not even counting perks and add-ons.
I get that playing with him might be fun. But generally, players don’t pick a killer because they’re entertaining — they choose them for their potential. And the more potential, usually the better. Otherwise, we wouldn’t constantly see the same killers being used out of the 39 available, or see some disappear entirely after getting nerfed. Do we still see as many Spirits after her nerf? I imagine she's not as entertaining anymore because she’s no longer as destructive and humiliating for survivors, right?
Look, if players were really playing just for fun, we wouldn’t be where we are now in every aspect of the game. Don’t get me wrong — I do think the idea of fun when it comes to killers has a lot of nuance. Sure, some players genuinely play for fun, but generally, from the killer’s perspective, winning is all that matters (or getting a 4K, if you prefer). Chases are considered disposable; if they weren’t, there would be no zoning, no camping, no tunneling, no bullying the weakest, no trading hooks.
Thank goodness they removed grab interactions — that mechanic was “super fun,” right? Fun has been completely overshadowed by the absolute need to not lose a match. If that weren’t the case, we wouldn’t see such radical changes in playstyle mid-match — and you can spot those a mile away.
Sorry to call it out like this, but if Kaneki were just as entertaining yet half as destructive, barely anyone would be using him.
This is exactly right. This is why people played him Nonstop on release because he was overtuned, brainless to play with zero skill floor and they were decimating survivors every match. The vast majority of this playerbase only care about getting that 4K over and over and this killer gave them exactly that. Even after his nerfs he’s still super strong and has a couple issues that need addressed. Hes still getting hits around corners with no LOS on the survivor and being able to traverse an entire map in two seconds is obviously going to appeal to players who want to min max every match.
The idea that people play him because he’s “fun” without acknowledging that fun=winning every match decisively back to back is what the vast majority of this playerbase means when they say “fun.”
-
That’s what I’m assuming but we always get patch notes for this. There are no patch notes.
-
I currently have this downloading too and want to know what this is for.
-
You know as killer you can just open the gates yourself and start EGC right?
-
Bro. How is BHVR supposed to know that it’s your internet and that you didn’t DC? Legit how do you expect the game to know “Oh this person didn’t DC it was just their internet.”?
I know it sucks to get DC penalties for your internet crashing but sometimes you just gotta take the L and move on.

Yeah, people are utterly sick of him just like SM.
Unlike SM, his power isn't fundamentally broken, so I think he can come back from this once he is adjusted. I remember having a similar feeling about Wesker back when he dropped.
This is why I kinda have some hope. His power is actually very cool and definitely something be that COULD be fun if they tweak him so he not so overtuned. But even after they fix him I still see people being exhausted and annoyed with versing him because of how long people have been facing this killer every match every day etc.
The appeal of this game is in the massive variety you have in characters you play as and against. Playing against this same killer for so long is still gonna leave a bad taste in the mouth of some people

No offense, but never playing Killer and getting all 4K's is likely because your opponents aren't very good to begin with. That really has nothing to do with Ghoul.
I agree with the rest, he's slightly overturned and will see some tweaks soon.
You think it’s more likely that someone who never plays killer is suddenly getting 4Ks with a brand new killer because every single team I go against is garbage? Rather then the fact that the new killer is super overtuned which a huge part of this playerbase has also said they’re experiencing? Thanks for the ego boost but no.

Complaining about dead hard in 2025 is legit a skill issue. That perk was nerfed twice already. It is absolutely counterable if you just wait it out. Not that hard.

you word it so well!!! it's fine to have good killers with low skill floors, HOWEVER they still need to have drawbacks for such a strong power!! he needs higher cooldowns/longer + added fatigues to curb his lethality
And here’s the thing. I don’t want them to take a sledgehammer to him. I think it’s acceptable for him to be a stronger killer who is fun to play as and against. But if hes gonna be strong it has to be harder to play him and should be an high skill floor. He does need some downsides to his strength. Right now there is nothing and that’s the problem.
-
Knockout was unhealthy and mainly used to grief people and 4 man slug and bleed everyone out. It needed to be changed and I’m glad they did. I think the criticisms of this new perk are valid but knockout definitely deserved the nerf.

They should tone it down to 2 times instead of 3. Especially for loops are too strong such as killer shack and jungle jimes. I’m a M1 killer using sadako and it’s ridiculously annoying to have to chase survivors who know what they are doing when it comes to vaulting windows.
”It’s ridiculously annoying to have to chase survivors who know what they’re doing”
So your entire post is literally a skill issue. You’re annoyed at having to play against good survivors so you want survivors nerfed. This is silly. -
@H2H said:
Great news, it’s bad and unfair when killers have good and useful perks!
It wasn’t a good and useful perk that killers were using tactically. Knockout was heavily used for the purposes of griefing (4 man slug and leaving everyone to bleed out at 5 gens) and ending the game instantly at 5 gens by slugging and camping everyone with knockout, third seal and deerstalker. Thats not good game design or healthy for the game.
-
As someone else said this is just the first stage. I’m thinking the second stage will address extreme hiding to out survivors who are doing this. Also while I’m sure there will be people out there who will try to do this just to mess with the killer because let’s face it, some people who play this game only play to make the game miserable for others, I don’t see this being the vast majority of people. In my experience the majority of people who play this game actually want to PLAY the game.
I know I don’t want to waste 10 minutes of my time stealthing around the map and not touching a gen just to get a “win” and that’s IF the killer decides to use the surrender option anyway. I’m here to actually play the game and maximize my BP and XP gains. I’m sure it’s the case for more people than not.
-
Not sure if this was mentioned cuz I haven’t read the entire thread but I’m pretty sure sure the devs said that this change doesn’t allow yen to see our teammates loadout in the lobby, only our own. I saw that in a post on here with a dev clarifying this.

I agree we should not mess around with the DC penalties like that. Actually I think the third or fourth one should even be a heavier lock. But time and time again we have seen the evil things that happen every time those penalties have to be off for whatever reason.
Like most players I do wish their reporting system was much less a burden and so cumbersome. Few actually record their games in the first place. I bet many many more legit bans would be happening if reporting wasn't as difficult and annoying as it is.
This is an absolute fact. The reporting system of having to record your own matches and then upload the videos to your own YouTube and send a link is so burdensome. All because their support form is garbage and won’t let you upload more than a 1 MB screenshot without giving you a hard time. I get needing to have evidence of something, so even if we say having to record our own matches is valid, (I still think they should have in game recording on their end for us to use) the fact that their own support form is so horrible that people have to upload to their own YouTube channels because you simply cannot attach a video is beyond unacceptable.

Yep and a fact that will be of no surprise to most people here, they are almost exclusively Epic accounts as the free on Epic promotion still comes back to haunt years later. I have an Epic DBD account too but I never play on it and certainly don't cheat!
But bots signed up for tens of thousands or more free accounts and they are still being sold with cheats to this day from what I can tell.
This is exactly what I said. An incredibly stupid idea to give a game away for free and now years later your game is still plagued with cheaters and AI cheat bots. I’d like to know how much money that idea netted them because I hope it was worth it for what their players are now dealing with.
Now the cheaters are also impersonating streamers and content creators to get innocent people banned.

But why do people like you think that OPs experience is the right one and not mine? I will obviously not open a topic a la "I have not faced a Cheater in months", but would that mean that if someone says they faced one, you would jump into the thread and defend my opinion?
This is why I was asking for videos - the chances are much higher that something is not understood and therefore people THINK there is cheating involved compared to actual cheating happening.
IMO the Mods should delete threads like this without actual evidence anyway.
For the record, I’m not saying your experience is right or wrong nor am I saying that about the OP. I also do not agree with asking for the DC penalty to be removed because of cheaters, because as Ryuhi points out, that’s a HUGE ask to make of the devs without sufficient evidence ACROSS THE BOARD AMONG A MAJORITY OF PLAYERS that cheating is happening to that extent that a DC penalty would need to be removed.
What I AM saying is that just because something may not be happening to you personally doesn’t mean others aren’t experiencing it. So to make the comment that something seems like a lot to you, so therefore it’s not true or must not be happening is not a proper judge of it not happening. Again we all play in different servers at different times of day. I’ve had people who play on the EU servers tell me that toxic gameplay is huge over there with killers constantly BMing on hook and things like that at certain times of the day.
Have I experienced huge amounts of toxic gameplay? No. Not personally. But I’m not on the EU servers and I don’t play at the same time of day as those people. So what would I look like telling someone “I don’t experience that at all so I doubt that’s happening to you”? I’d look like a jerk invalidating someone else’s experiences just because it’s not mine. That’s garbage.
I think if you aren’t experiencing a ton of cheaters then that’s valid. That’s YOUR experience. The difference here is I’m not telling you that you’re lying or implying that you’re lying for saying you personally don’t experience tons of cheaters.
It’s totally fine to suggest that someone should have proper evidence of something happening if they’re asking the devs to take a specific course of action because of it ie removing the DC penalty.
What’s not fine imo is telling someone they’re lying (or in your words “I highly doubt that this is true”) because they’re saying they’re experiencing something that you yourself haven’t seen.

One person's experiences don't invalidate another's, but cheating isn't always a blatant thing. Sometimes people you dont think are cheating are, and sometimes people you think are cheating aren't. Its the difference between an observation and an assumption.
The likelihood of that proliferation of cheaters is extremely low, but certainly not impossible. The reason that matters is because a low chance of it happening to one person means that even if it is indeed accurate, there will be few people that have the same degree of misfortune. This is important when discussing issues that are not concrete (i.e observable vs assuming.)
Its the same as people who claim they play against sweaty SWFs in nearly every match. Even killer main streamers don't face seal team 6 nearly every game, so the chances of it happening to randos is considerably lower (though still not impossible, of course.) Unfortunately we focus much more on bad experiences than good subconsciously, so the numbers tend to get internally exaggerated and/or benefit of the doubt gets thrown out.
Either way, video of the matches would both be good for affirming the claim as well as submitting in a report against the players. Ranting lets off steam and misery loves company, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything. Once you add hyperbole (whether intentional or not) it dilutes the value of the complaint.
Edit before this gets taken out of context, I don't feel one way or the other about the claim in the op. I just feel if they did submit video clips like was suggested, they would have a stronger argument than without.
I absolutely agree with this. As burdensome as the reporting system is, I actually did report all my cheaters with video evidence cuz I know it’s the only way to get anything done.
I’m just not a fan of the claim “That seems like a lot/not a lot so I doubt that happened” that tends to happen on this forum. Thank you’re your perspective.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
You have videos of those instances? 4 Cheaters on 15-20 games sounds a lot, especially for someone who is not livestreaming. So I highly doubt that this is true.
I really need yall to stop telling people they’re lying just because something isn’t happening to YOU personally or you haven’t seen it with your own eyes. How many people play this game? It’s not outside the realm of possibility that something is actually happening but you personally haven’t seen it. I’ve gotten 3 cheaters in the matches I’ve played in the last 2.5 days that I’ve recorded which is wild because I rarely see cheaters at all in my matches. There’s definitely an major uptick happening and I’m not even a streamer. There’s another streamer right now who has a hacker impersonating them. It is happening a lot more recently whether you’ve seen it or not and whether people are streamers or not.
-
I voted no. Survivor gets old super fast in this mode especially with legion being in it now. The only way I want it extended is if they keep the 400 percent BP bonus for survivor so in BOTH modes it’s worth it. That’s way I can keep working to prestige my next survivor. 2v8 killer is super fun but queues take too long and I have zero interest in playing 2v8 as survivor. I’ll just go back to 1v4 for that side.
-
Also we need to acknowledge what a monstrously horrible decision it is/was for BHVR to make this game free on epic games because that’s where one of the biggest influx of hackers came from. Making huge numbers of free accounts so that they have plenty of backups when they start getting banned. I get trying to market your game to get people to play it but that was a horrible idea that never should have left whatever meeting it came up in.
-
@Mr_K said:
EAC is not developed by BHVR, it is it's own company and used in many games. Give an example of an anti-cheat system that stops all cheating? You won't find one.
Now, there are things BHVR should be doing since we were forced onto dedicated servers years ago. Monitoring player positions to catch teleports for one. I feel there are many things they could do server side to at least flag cheaters.
I’m aware EAC is not BHVR owned, I never said or implied it was. I’m aware its a service they use. I also never said anyone could stop ALL hacking so you’re arguing a straw man there. At least reply to what I’ve actually said and don’t make assumptions.
What I’m saying is that the extent and the uptick in these hackers is alarming and especially without any acknowledgement from BHVR that they’re aware of these issues and they’re trying to work on it. The fact that content creators are being targeted and banned because they’re being impersonated is not only alarming, it’s frustrating for them to stream BHVRs game and then get banned for hackers because of an AI automated ban system.
It’s not unreasonable to expect a company to acknowledge a huge issue that keeps being posted about on their forums and social media and tell us what steps they’re taking to try and get it under control. I’ve played other games with hackers too but those companies have been way more transparent about what’s being done to cull this issue. Also EAC is not the only anti cheat service but it’s the one I’ve seen that seems to let the most garbage slip thru the cracks.

Y'all say this every time, like it negates that the things you're complaining about will* in fact be nerfed. There's really nothing you can do about this until the change is through, except bring anti-slug. Have you tried that?
Never said I didn’t bring anti slug. I’m commenting on an uptick in behavior I’ve seen in my matches. Also this is exactly the problem with the health of this game. They keep wanting to do these “meta shakeups” to encourage people to bring different perks but no one wants to do that because you always have to have “anti tunnel, anti camp, anti slug, gen regression” equipped just to have a shot at not being curb stomped at 5 gens.
Also having to constantly bring an anti slug build into each match to counter people who are just abusing game mechanics to be toxic and make matches miserable for people because they get off on being jerks is really not good for the state of this game.
Again I’m not talking about people who slug for pressure or as a legit tactic. I’m talking about what I described in my OP. Just bringing those perks to slug camp and bleed out just to get under peoples skin and be a dick.
-
DBD has been down for PC users ever since the Steam update
-
I’ve been saying that they cannot truly buff killers until they do away with tunneling and camping. No matter how many carrots or incentives they try to offer killers not to do those things, there still going to happen. There are far too many of their killer player base that don’t want an actual challenge in this game nor do they care about gaining skill, but rather they just want easy wins. As long as zero skill mechanics that don’t require perks or add-ons to be effective, like tunneling and camping remain in the game, nothing they offer is going to deter it but rather they’re just adding to their ability to tunnel and camp more by giving buffs on top of it.
If they’re going to penalize tunneling and camping and making it no longer effective for the killer to do, then they should also balance that by giving killers buffs. If they’re not gonna penalize tunneling it and make them far less effective then they may as well keep things where they are and give survivors more ways to avoid it.

True, thats why I have been saying this for a long time: The objective of the game should be 2k, not 4k. As soon as the 2nd survivor is dead, the remaining 2 are sacrificed by the entity.
No survivors are gonna play a match where the game ends and they automatically lose as soon as two other people die. That would decimate solo Q since people can’t control how well their teammates play. Youre basically suggesting killers get handed a 4K for killing 2 people. May as well just make the game a PvE and get rid of the survivor role at this point

The point I was making is that dismissing criticism just because some people don’t struggle isn’t a good argument. And I was using killer winstreaks as an example for that point.
DBD is a game where skill alone can only get you so far, as it heavily relies on RNG. Bots are apart of that RNG, and to a large majority of players, it's a negative one. Think of it like getting a map with poor locker distribution everytime as Dredge. Does it mean there is no chance of winning? Of course not. But your chances are now slimmer regardless of your personal skill. For a dedicated Dredge main, it may not affect them. But majority who play Dredge are not dedicated mains, so they will struggle, and the struggle is unnecessary, just like the addition of the bots.
Bots do not have to exist in 2v8, they were implemented in an effort to help with wait times which hasn't worked. That was the entire purpose of them. The addition that a large majority of players feel that bots are not good teammates, make the change feel even more unnecssary, because not only did it fail to do what it was designed to do, but it made the overall experience worse for many people.
In any case, I'll end this here. Hopefully I clarified my post for you to better understand. We can both respectfully agree to disagree, as I've said my perspective and you have said yours.
Gliyn!
My recommendation to you is to ignore this user. They’ve been on here for days in several posts basically saying that anyone who claims an experience that they don’t agree with is a liar. They’re claiming they “proved” that what they’re saying is correct while alll they’ve done is state their own opinion but offered no evidence. They’re even calling the devs liars because they were supposed to have patched a bug but it didn’t get patched properly, the. Claimed that the devs are always lying about stuff.
Their entire engagement on here is in bad faith and revolves around “What you’re saying isn’t true and didn’t happen and that’s a fact because I said so and anyone who says it’s happening are liars.”
Either theyre a literal child just here to troll or an adult with zero emotional and social intelligence and possibly just here to troll imo.
-
Some of you haven’t played against knockout ever and it shows here. You realize when killers use knockout it removes the ability for your teammates to find your aura unless you are super close proximity correct? You also realize the vast majority of killers who bring knockout also bring third seal giving you blindness right? What does blindness do? Remove your ability to read auras. They also keep people injured for 3rd seal value and proxy camp the slugged teammates to make sure they keep downing you if you manage to pick up your teammates. It’s literally slugging for the 4K tactics to bleed everyone out. That’s how people with knockout like this play in the vast majority of my experiences and I’m willing to bet many other people can attest to that here.
So in this scenario, the killer running knockout, third seal and whatever other two perks they find useful for slugging, the survivors are supposed to be pressuring gens, constantly relighting snuffed exponential totems and running around thru blindness trying to pick up their teammates that they can’t find? And the teammates that are trying to crawl thru them are crawling slower than usual?
This perk has needed a rework for a long time. It’s not used strategically it’s mostly used to troll and 4 man slug at 5 gens and is way too powerful for that purpose especially when paired with a full slugging build. Anyone who has played survivor even once against this playstyle knows this.
-
Again you showed actual proof of nothing. You stated your opinion. At this point I feel like you’re probably a 10 year old child who’s just here to troll. I’m not gonna keep going back and forth with you on what an opinion vs a fact is. Joining a bandwagon does not make what you’re saying a fact and continuing to argue in bad faith and call people liars is not going to make what you’re saying anymore valid.
-
The BP incentive is there to get people to play survivor because no one wants to play that role. Thats why killer queue times are so long. Also a BP incentive has nothing to do with whether something is survivor sided. It means there’s a lack of people playing that role.
Youre also probably facing a lot of full SWFs in 2v8 because if you don’t load in with 8 people you’re basically getting 2 bots per match making it a 2v6 and no one wants to play with bots. So they’re getting a full squad together to dodge the bots.

Well ig that means bhvr lied AGAIN abt fixing a bug. For the record, this is a bug, that according to official game news WAS suppose to be fixed. I haven't seen this bug once but if ur still seeing it within 12 hours of the patch, then ig they just lied abt removing like they have with a few bugs lately.
I have "no deal" you've seen me discussing a single situation in multiple posts yes, in which from what i have seen on both sides, isn't occurring. And in a newer post i made, i proved that 1) survivor is the better role still, And 2) Bots are in fact not a downside. I never said they weren't buggy in other ways however, they do infact make questionable plays in chase, which is their least prioritized purpose. However the pre running when touching TR does not happen from what I've seen, and even if it did, thats very normal, lore accurate behavior.
They you go again, why you do automatically jump to “they lied” about fixing a bug rather than “Hey I know you thought you patched this but it’s still an issue”? Where’s the assumption of positive intent first? Automatically accusing people of lying about issues they’re saying they’re having in matches, accusing BHVR of lying about patching a bug, it’s like you want to automatically assume the worst because it makes you somehow feel superior. You’re not engaging in this forum in good faith and I’m not the only person who has pointed this out about you.
Also you didn’t “prove” anything about survivor or bots being better. You’ve simply stated your opinion. You really need to google and understand the difference between fact and opinion. You can’t prove your opinion because it isn’t based in fact, and you also cannot decide that someone else’s experiences in matches with bots didn’t happen and therefore “prove” your point. That’s not how facts work.
In my opinion, you really need to learn some emotional and social intelligence because you’re very much lacking those skills.

The bug is still currently happening to people. I just saw it happen to 2 weskers in my matches in the last hour. I truly feel like youre just here to troll because I keep seeing you in posts telling people that things they’re reporting aren’t happening despite multiple people reporting the same experiences. What is your deal?

It's nice that you're providing your perspective. But I have to say that dismissing other's as being simply inexperienced or implying that they may be lying about their experiences isn't very constructive, nor does it make you seem like you are speaking in genuine good faith.
Ignoring the majority of real, expressed experiences in favor of your own not only comes off as biased, but it also doesn't help improve the game. We all bring different experiences to the table and if only one perspective is considerd "valid" simply because it's your own, then how could progression or balance ever come from selective experiences as opposed to the majroity of them?
For meaningful discussions and changes, we need to consider the majority's input, not just assume that anyone who disagrees with your own personal experience is either inexperienced or unwilling to learn.
I think they’re just here to antagonize so I put them on ignore. It’s not a good faith interaction to just keep posting “Nope what you’re saying isn’t happening” We’ll it’s happening in my matches.. “No it’s not.” I’m not gonna engage with that any further.
