  • It's just weird BHVR stuff. I think they've settled on a formula for future killers, but they are worried about implimenting it for older ones.

Freddy need buff, not nerf. What would you change about Freddy?

Make him actively put survivors to sleep and replace snares with aura reading. Basically, I'd make him Old Freddy but with his gen teleporting.

So? Him snares fast but snares are not good like Trapper's traps or Hag's traps. Just makes survivors little slower. Teleporting is good but you cant teleport forever. You need to wait for reload. And if you teleport wrong gen ( noone on it ) you will lose great time. And ofcourse him basic attacks will get survivors to dream world. Freddy lives in dream world, hello.

His snares make looping completely impossible and his teleporting cooldown is a negligible factor when he gets to use it exactly when he needs to.

Plus there's perks to make it so you don't teleport to the wrong generator.

How little effort? Freddy is one of the area control killers. You need to play smart. You need to use your dream pallets or snares good places. Also you need to keep people in dreamworld. He is good gen def killer. That is perfect against gen rushing. And also you need luck. If you teleport wrong gen, you will lose time and prob survs will finish other gen. Clearly fair killer.

Can you explain me how Spirit mains need effort? Her power is unstoppable. And when you hit surv, that surv cant escape or hide if he/she has not iron will. Spirit is only op killer for now.

Spam snares at every loop with no thought or cooldown, then teleport to a gen with Pop or Ruin and a gen info perk. Effortless gameplay. Everything else is completely passive, even your ability to "actively" put survivors to sleep comes naturally with your basic attack.

  • He gets everything passively or with very little effort and survivors are rarely in a position where waking up is the best course of action due to the sheer time investment required.

  • That's just blatant hacking. Like seeing a killer with Kindred.

So what am I missing? The fact that we should just take their word on it?

"They got access to confidential information" - Player ID being the only thing listed that's confidential.

"The leaked information cannot be used to identify users, access their accounts or access any financial/sensitive information" - Yet they tell us not to share the Player cloud ID

Then they tell us "As a precaution you should still watch for abnormal activity on your accounts" - If nothing important was stolen, then why?

Does the word "precaution" mean nothing to you?

MAYYYYBE nurse, but the other 3 are 100% just a basic attack.

All 3 have drastically altered speed and distance thanks to their powers. Two of them increased, one decreased. Based on how they designed Blight, Pig and Legion, that more than qualifies as a secondary attack.

Reasons why console players need to be restricted to their own matches. Seriously why auto aim assist is even a thing in a 'skill' based game is beyond me.

Using auto aim assist to bridge the skill ceiling gap between controllers and keyboard / mouse just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Fun fact: there's no difference between M&K and Controller except for sensitivity settings! The same aim dressing program is run no matter your input.

It's really really bad with killers like Nurse.

Especially if they Dead Hard past you. I mean, you weren't getting the hit anyway, they pushed the outplay button, but damn if it doesn't make my head spin when I whip around 270° and show a wall how naughty it's been

  • Yes it does, and I believe it says so in the perk description.

To put it simply, Botany Knowledge and a yellow medkit = 2 heals, each at 133% speed.

They decided to do it with Legion though. A Killer who already wasn't very strong and needed help.

Yep. Pig, too. But Blight's attack has more in common with Nurse, Hag, Spirit or Wraith and yet it's a special attack.

  • As a survivor, it's great. All that time memeing around really paid off, all my teammates suck but so do my opponents so it's just chaotic and insane and I love it. Plus I suck so I fit right in. And also I have MoM/NM equipped every trial. Because all good players know that an escape is worth nothing unless you pull it off with mettle of mither.

As killer it's just awful. Everyone's just holding W and predropping pallets. I hate it. I hate everything about it. It's been a plague on AU servers for years, it's been the playstyle that drove me to main Slinger, then Blight. It's the biggest reason I learned Nurse and punishing it is my favourite part about playing Spirit and Blight. And under the mmr, instead of 2 out of 3 games, it's just every game. No exceptions unless I go play killers I almost never touch, like Bubba, Billy, Clown and Demo.

Actually, no, that's a big fat lie from me to you. Because when I play these killers I get no-perk rank 20's THAT DO THE SAME ######### THING

  • @Brokenbones said:

Why is Nurse's m1 attack after blinking counted as an M1 but not Blights lethal rush?

Aren't they virtually the same concept just executed slightly differently

Because if Nurse was released today, her post-blink attack wouldn't be a basic attack. Same as Spirit, same as Wraith, same as Hag.

  • An echolocation killer, like a Future Predator from Primeval.

Yh but thats good. Survivor should use the best strategy to win. Its time that the devs see how unbalanced some things are.

Except theres no fix for not even having to play the game. What are the Devs gonna do, buff Bloodlust? Buff the mechanic that killers cheese to make looping impossible?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Also ######### does "pre drop" even mean? When is the "correct" time to drop a pallet? When it allows the killer to get a hit thanks to latency?

So you've never gone against survivors that don't loop tiles, only drop the pallet and run away? Really?

  • Blight.

I used to also play Legion and Plague, but that dream is over. Can't beat a good old W key with them.

  • @Axe said:

can confirm this is what I do as a survivor now most days. Yesterday I got a Freddy on Azarov resting place just when MMR got turned on. I wanted to do a quick experiment if I can drop as many pallets as possible and just play ultra-safe while also holding shift W across the map. I manage to drop more then like 10 pallets and my team got 3 gens down before I got dead zoned and hooked.......

Yeah. I mean, I don't blame you. It's an extremely strong tactic. Honestly, if nothing else the while predrop-amd-W has made me far more open to tunneling and camping. I'm not happy about it, but... Well, unless I'm playing a mobility killer then there's not much choice. Gotta bring the survivors to you somehow.

  • But they don't. They don't go up. Because there's significantly more predrop-and-W than Spirits, Blights and Nurses. So every. Single. Damn. Game. Is just survivors not even trying to play and winning by default.

  • It didn't solve the problem of losing to predrop-and-W. In fact, it heavily inflated it. Because apparently skilled survivors just don't even play the game.

  • Easy. I've started tunneling and camping players that just hold W. So now I tunnel and camp everyone in every trial.

  • I was hoping that MMR would get me out of the ######### hellscape that is the ultra-skilled W-holding, but no. I guess I can just go ######### myself. No fun allowed.

I think I'm going to main Spirit if the MMR goes live. Screw caring about my opponents fun when they clearly don't care about mine.

I wish this stupid game had a better Bloodlust system so that I could actually play any killer bar Blight, Nurse and Spirit.

  • I love how half the people here are screaming "get good" but in reality Spirit is one of three killers that can effectively punish predrop-W-genrush. AKA, the meta.

Yes. Get good. You are just outclassed. Outclassed by people playing in the most brain-dead way possible.

Not really. I've been keeping track of my games for the past 60 to 70 games and I'm seeing an average of 2/3s of my games being 4Ks. I thought it was something weird with matchmaking, so I started playing Killer, which I've played far less then survivor, and every match I had was a 4K.

And it's not just me. I'm seeing other people keeping track of their games and they're getting the same numbers as I. There was a Leatherface main that posted just last week, in which every one of his games were either 3Ks or 4Ks. Also spoke with another survivor main that was pretty much seeing the exact same.

Even Ortz, a killer main, admitted in one of streams that him and other streamers don't want the game balanced. And why would you when part of your revenue is from 4k survivors 50+ times in a row.

They don't want the game artificially balanced around 2k's, and they don't want to actually go against survivors as good as them every single trial because then they wouldn't be able to be entertaining.

  • @Clünge said:

More killers crying that they need more of an advantage than the insane one they have

Stop survivors from having any perks & you'll still be whinging about something

Fun fact: survivors don't need any perks to steamroll a killer. Gens can be finished in under 3 minutes and holding W+predropping pallets guarantees more than enough time against just about every killer in the game. Only the best Nurse/Blight/Spirit players can combat this, and that's assuming they have full meta builds.

Thank gods most survivors also find such games extremely boring and so don't even bother to try to play like that. The genrushing thing, not the holding W and predropping pallets thing, thats just normal gameplay at this point.

  • Yes, that would make it easier for me to run it with No Mither...

  • When most of the community complains about survivors holding W and predropping pallets, along comes that one killer...

  • For her perks? Unquestionably. Her perks are the best set out of any killers.

For the killer? Depends. She's quite a hard killer to play well, and requires a mix of m1 skill, Corrupt Purge skill, and planning. She has one of the strongest powerspikes in the entire game, though, and she is an absolute monster when you're good at her. You just cannot loop a good Plague in her power. And personally, I find her to be one of the most fun killers in the game.

  • I was healing someone in a big patch of grass when a trap opened under my feet.

I had just been fully healed, too.

  • I want more jiggle. I want everyone to have jiggle. If it can jiggle, it should jiggle. I don't care what it is, it should be dancing!

  • I don't really care. If they want their free escape, whatever. Just goes to show how little confidence they have in themselves and their team.

  • To put it very, very shortly: you need meta to beat meta if skill is relatively equal.

  • I mean, it's literally a perk that blocks a gen at the most useless of times. The only way I can see it being useful enough to vaguely compete with Ruin, Pop, Corrupt, etc. is by using it on Doctor with Thrilling Tremors or Freddy with the class photo (I think that's the add-on. I'm talking about the one that makes all gens gush with blood.)

Edit: Maybe on Wraith or Twins with Discordance?

  • I feel kind of bad because I rarely go agasint a good Plague, but I know her pretty well, so it ends up being me looping her for most, if not all, of her Corrupt Purge.

I feel like most players don't get enough practice as/agasint Plague. So, naturally, I kill my entire team by constantly cleansing because yaassss, chase me girl

if you're on pc (if you're on console, then I understand. I hear he's pretty bad in any map), you absolutely can use his power in loops. it's very much so usable in the regular tiles in the first floor as well. some are actually favorable to blight unless they're pallets that are designed to be thrown around immediately, but that actual loops are just fine for blight.

You physically cannot use his power unless the survivors don't know how to play agaisnt him. They have enough time with each bump to avoid the following Lethal Rush if they know the basics of positioning themselves against Blight thanks to the shape of the loops. Sure, in the open central area you can punish W-holding, but otherwise there's too many corners and too many round loops. The only time I've ever successfully used Blight in loops on Gideon is when I was experimenting with the 180 exploit to prove how busted it is.

  • Inner Strength is a great perk. It's self-balancing, it encourages doing dull totems bugiving a positive effect, and it's pretty much a solo players best friend.

Second Wind is bad, not because of the broken status or the delayed healing, but because of the insanely specific activation requirement.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

They got plenty of instadowns, which is kinda the equivalent for killers.

Please, do explain how a perk that usually leaves you exposed for up to 60 seconds, almost always with some insanely situational activation, is equivalent to a perk that, say, undoes a massive screw up at the push of a button, rewards genrushing, lets you bodyblock for your rescuer, gives you a free escape after progressing the trial, gives you a guaranteed unhook, lets you get up for free, lets you get up for free with an Endurance effect....

Wow, I really could keep going. But I won't. Generally speaking, instadown perks have nothing in common with seconds chance perks. Survivors get a huge warning they're in play, lots of time to run or hide to avoid the effect, and even then the current meta is still to slam gens while injured anyway so sweaty squads want killers to waste slots on perks like MYC, Dragons Grip, Devour Hope, etc.

  • How would I feel about buffing the most overpowered killer in the game... Hmm, well, I'd have to think about it.

Wait, no I wouldn't. How about a big, fat "oh god no she's already OP as ######### but people have this insane idea that she's somehow fair because you can't just pick her up and 4k your first trial".

would definitely disagree about gideon being blight's second worst.

there are some tricky spots in the small little rooms you pass through downstairs, but overall, that map is pretty open on the top now, the bottom is also a little more open and easier to traverse, you can force a lot of the god pallets pretty fast by rushing, or you can hit them before they even reach a pallet, AND you can also loop some of the god pallet loops on that map with your power because they're long and straight forward, which is very friendly to your power.

i genuinely don't mind that map as blight, who i hardcore main. never have too many issues tbh. there are actually some nice bottleneck areas in there too.

this map is trash overall though. don't know what they were thinking.

You cannot use his power in any of the loops. It's just there for mobility, same as every other indoor map.

  • Spine chill is rarely, if ever, used for the speed bonus. The only exception to this is Vault Build (Spine Chill/Resilience). It's primary use is as an information perk, and though it's quite likely this was not it's intended use at the time of conception I'm fairly certain the Devs have just decided to not change it because, well, why bother? It's fine as it is.

  • First of all, no-one defends cheaters but cheaters. Second, it sounds like you're confusing game sense for wallhacks. Third, I've been playing this game for two years and I've maybe come across a handful of hackers. So unless you're so unlucky that you shouldn't ever go outside in a mild rain, I'm willing to bet that most of these "hackers" have simply been the players with good game sense and/or you're just inflating the rest to try and make a point.

Gods know I've been reported enough times for hacking just because my hunch that a survivor would be hiding in the maze tile beside the gen that is slightly more worked on than last I saw it was correct.

Edit: actually, a lot of this seems like you're just getting good opponents. Aimbot with Nurse? Been accused of that, too. Flashlight immunity? Also known as either you getting the blind too soon or too late. Also something I've been accused of hacking for.

You mean the walls that I often have to break just to be able to hook someone because they are constantly in my way?

The walls force dead ends, but in return even those dead ends have several god pallets in them; so you can just not get caught in those spots, if you do you have pallets, and if the killer breaks walls later in the game to get to one of those hooks that area is open and the entire dead end was never any use to him.

Actually most of the deathrooms they create only have one pallet in them, which is pretty easy to zone people with so when you break it they don't get enough distance out the exit.

That's why they're the most annoying breakable walls in the game: the killer will just zone you away from the exit, but they also block off half the map so killers can't even move around and have to choose between a relatively free hit or basic map traversal. Which also somewhat impacts survivors.

It's like they designed them with the ethos of "if everyone hates them then they're balanced!"

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Does one full charge actually fully infect a survivor without add-ons? Because I've never been able to. If even a small bit misses it won't get them infected. I prefer to chase normally and then infect them on the hook anyway unless they're one of the last survivors alive.

Yes, it will. Just. However, it's hard to pull off if they're juking.

  • Yes. I, too, easily counter a perk designed to give people a free second chance by watching them dash to a pallet or window and completely unduon a mistake that should have had them in the ground.

I also counter is as Blight, Spirit, Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Deathslinger, Wraith, Plague, Demogorgon, Trapper and Oni. How? I try to hit them with my power, because I am unable to bait it out while using my power, and force them to use it, essentially giving them a free health state!

    Wait, that doesn't seem right...

  • @Beefmur said:

i was talking about playing plague and getting looped around long walls what do you do to hit the survivors

Hold your Purge, get close and unload it into their back. You move at 110 ms when you're holding your puke and a single fully-charged Purge will fully infect them. If they're already fully infected, just chase them normally.

  • Yes. Mobility counts for far more than a basekit instadown, or else Bubba would be stronger than Blight.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I mean, it is absolutely survivor sided I am sure, the only thing that keeps me from saying that 100% is I am waiting to see what the statistics are.

The argument for killer is that it lacks vaults, but the sheer ridiculous amount of god pallets it has, be it you believe it is killer or survivor sided- we can all agree it makes for really REALLY stale gameplay.

There's also the breakable walls, which are easily the most annoying in DbD and the other reason people claim it's killer sided.
