I also think the arguement that offerings shouldn't be string is flawed because survivors get items which in many cases are stronger than all offerings and the killer doesn't have the privilege of an item

No, they have the privilege of add-ons.

Actually id argue keys are stronger then current moris as 3 gens can get done in chase one so if say you do manage to kill 2 survivors the hatch spawns on 2 gens left. Survivors just hide till they find hatch and instaescape. Draw game from 1 item.

Please, explain in great and excruciating detail what keys have to do with anything I said. Or will you actually admit you're just whattabouting and really should be complaining about keys in a thread about keys?

Both examples will be completely obliterated by people who know what they are doing. Against casual players it is enough but to say its all you need is just dishonest.

The game is mechanically very easy but to be constantly winning you need experience and gamesense.

The first one no, because that's what competitive DbD is all about, the second one yes, but only against said aforementioned competitive teams.

Not to derail the thread too much, but I'm genuinely curious what is it about Freddy that makes something like this feasible compared to any other M1 killer? (Or is the general idea there just that x strong killer + y strong perks gives same result)

His snares make looping impossible and are the easiest thing ever to use, and his ability to instantly teleport to a generator with Pop means he has constant, free map pressure because he's always chasing someone and also regressing gens.

Other m1 killers actually have to play M1 killer. Freddy doesn't, which is why I don't even consider him an m1 killer.

  • Mori's should stay where they are now. An offering shouldn't be a free win, and as it stands it's still much stronger than nothing because you can use them to tunnel through a DS, which isn't fair but it's better than before.

  • So you want to take a perk, whose entire purpose is for snowballing, and remove any snowballing potential?

  • These pitch meetings seem super easy, barely an inconvenience!

I don't know if I'm alone on this, but @MadLordJack can attest to me sacrificing myself to a Charlotte and Billy who were struggling super hard and I wanted them to have fun too ;w; I clipped me giving Charlotte hatch and then leading her to hook me after everyone escaped because after hitting me she just nodded her head yes and I fell in love lol <3!!!

Can confirm. Absolutely the sweetest survivor ever.

I am of two minds on this.

One one hand, folks are kinda taking it off topic with memes and it borders the line of bullying the person....

.......on the other hand OP is straight up insulting and passively aggressively attacking people just for playing a killer and with a nonsense reason behind it at that. (And no intention of actually discussing or hearing anyone's opinion but their own making the thread pointless anyways)

Moderation can be tough, that's all I am saying about that lol.

I think it's less about the topic and more about the Sluzzy. It's pretty safe to say that we've all tried to be reasonable on the past, and it does not work out well. At all.

  • A lot of DbD is extremely easy, mostly survivor. It doesn't take a genius game master to beat nearly every killer, it takes VC, a little basic co-ordination, and predropped pallets/massive W holding. Same with killer, just equip Freddy with PGTW, Thrilling, Sloppy and Corrupt and you can just mindlessly hold W at survivors for most trials, you don't even need to know how to loop. It's not quite as easy as cheesing it as a survivor, but it's as close as it gets.

Not joking... Huntress is carrying killers. Too overpowered and broken, there is no counterplay to the massive unpredictable hitboxes.

Mmm-hmm. Well, the next time I'm running a Huntress around an LT wall, dodging, baiting and juking hatchets, I'll just have to keep reminding myself that I am, in fact, a hackerwomans.

  • Huh. Well that was... Hopefully a joke? I think?

Huntress as a crutch killer. Now that's a new one.

I play both sides frequently. But, things are in the game for a reason. As a killer I can’t really get mad when somebody breaks a hook, or pallet stuns or gets a flashlight save because those mechanics are in the game for a reason. They’re not exploits, they’re genuine tactics. So if I can’t handle them happening to me, I should maybe think about playing something else.

I’ve played against plenty of SWF who’s sole purpose is to try to annoy me, so I can understand people finding that hard to deal with, but some players ‘punish’ people for some of the most ridiculous things.

I got face camped for doing the challenge of fixing a generator near the killer. They walked past me with somebody on their shoulder and my generator was on 95% so obviously I finished it in case they had PGTW. They then camped me when they downed me and messaged to say it was because I was extremely cocky for fixing a generator in their presence when I should have been scared and left the area. I was literally doing a challenge that the game asked me to do lol. So in moments like that, that particular playing is being too sensitive in my eyes. As they’re being offended for the sake of being offended.

As I said, misplaced anger. The game itself is flawed, forcing killers to never slip up or else face game-ending consequences. It's little wonder that many of the few killers that do exist at high ranks blow up at the slightest provocation, the game wasn't balanced around aggressive survivors and killers have been conditioned to expect toxicity from us thanks to bully squads.

I remember. But this was long after Self-Care was nerfed. He was just being a little cry baby. He told me that it was toxic and that I should have been scared of him and kept running lol. He was having some weird power trip. I’ve been camped for pallet saving, using Head On, finding a flashlight and getting a save, breaking a hook, using Breakout. Basically, if you do anything other than run in a straight line from the killer, you risk being labelled as toxic. Obviously not every killer is this sensitive, as I’m definitely not. But there’s an alarming amount of them out there.

All of those things you just listed are incredibly annoying to go against and potentially turn entire trials by themselves. Call people sensitive all you want, but it seems to me that the anger and frustration is more misdirected than unjustified.

It's good to retain perspective on things, not only by playing both sides but remembering what happens to each side. There's a lot of BS that killers have to deal with and a lot of the time people blow up because they've simply had enough and need to vent.

  • @Phasmamain said:

I mean speed limiter or not you did bring a dusty noose which is pretty much equivalent to a pied piper

But I love Dead Dawg as a survivor, all it takes is for your team to not be potatoes and it's amazing. Strong windkwsz a couple of decent pallets, some platform gens, bushes to hide in... The only time I feel like it's killer sided is when I'm going against a doctor.

  • @KiwiCoattails said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2019866#Comment_2019866

A lot of this community are extremely sensitive and have such inflated egos that if you do something that’s even remotely toxic in their mindset, you’re scum and must be punished lol.

I remember once being face camped by a Bubba because I was trying to heal during my chase. Apparently in his eyes that was extremely toxic, when it’s a good tactic? If I have a window to be able to heal why wouldn’t I take it? Because if I’m able to extend my chase, that’s a good thing for me and my team. He was so butthurt over it for no reason. There’s just too many children or adults with childlike mindsets that play this game.

I remember him messaging me like “you think I’m going to let you heal?” 💀

That actually used to be an incredibly overpowered tactic that a lot of survivors used to bully killers, way back in the days of Self Care being insane and pallets being worse. A lot of people still have bad memories, I guess.

  • I hope so, that would be a nice feature

  • At this point, when a survivor just holds W, predrops pallets and abuses second chances. If they're going to be lazy, may as well be lazy too. No point taking the high road if the low one has so much company.

Bonus points if they t-bagged the entire time, that just makes the whole thing sweeter. As does the fact that I'm mostly playing padded jaws with no bags at the moment, if any fellow killers out there catch my drift.

  • How are you going to solve proxy camping, especially in this current meta where the killer is punished for not doing it?

  • Do you have any idea how easy it is to pull off any form of juke right now? The survivors literally teleport around the killers screen. Turning left is a near-instant 90° jolt. It's insane. The current patch broke movement again and no-one really talks about it. Tracking through a lunge is sheer luck, which is why you don't see good killers lunging, but that's kind of beside the point: movement is broken, you don't even have to 360 to juke.

Also, don't try and pretend one arsehat is every killer in existence.

  • He has an uncounterable chase power and the best anti-stealth in the game, in addition to the most overbuffing selection of add-ons there is.

I'd say you probably need to practice if you think Doctor needs a buff.

Edit: also, significant basekit slowdown and tracking.

  • Better skins costing $15 than DLC.

Seriously, you do not need to buy expensive skins. They're there for people with money to burn. If you want to pretty up your character with real money, then that's your business, but kindly take a moment to recognise how little impact it has on the game and how low-cost the expensive skins allow the rest of the game to be.

  • Spirit is the easiest of the killers there, you just have to equip Stridor and practice a bit and suddenly it's 4k after 4k. Legion has a deceptively low mechanical skill cap, but you have to be an absolutely amazing m1 killer, and you have to use FF as a tracking and mobility tool as needed, something most people don't do. And Deathslinger is just, he's one of the hardest killers in the game. You need to be so damn good at aiming you never miss a shot, or those gens will fly by. Ignore everyone who talks about how easy Slinger is - they are either unfairly gifted at FPS games, or think everyone is some potato that won't ever call your bluffs.

  • And this is why people should be mindful when ressurecting threads - this one is completely outdated and is talking about the P2P system that we had before dedicated servers.

  • All it really does is reward scummy playstyles, or bad killers that then rank up too quick. It's not a good perk, one free kill means nothing, and no good killer runs it very much. It's just generally very unhealthy for the game.

I think it should get a buff, remove the Hex part, and become a reward for going for 12-hook trials. That way, outmatched killers won't get a free kill, facecampers and tunnelers get no insurance, and it becomes a legitimate play to go for 12 hooks.

  • That's just Steam for you. I'm honestly kind of glad there's no vulgarity filters because censorship tends to run a little... Let's just say, "rampant".

  • You know, the Devs must really love it when people as bad at statistical analysis as they are come into the forums.

Actually it was not. Dead center is dead center. Not sure what your idea of dead center is, anyone in front of you?

Dead centre is when any part of the survivors pill-shaped hitbox is in the precise centre of the attack box.

  • @Scotty2hotties said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2017240#Comment_2017240

Looks clean to me. She was cutting right, killer was angling left. Definitely not point blank dead center at all. Time to start dumping the thru rocks, trees, and wall clips hits. Most people will contend the hit boxes lean killers favor.

That actually was dead centre, the chainsaw simply decided it missed. It's an old, old, old, old, old, old bug that should have been fixed when Billy was randomly nerfed.

  • I think that the only things to compare DbD to are so much worse that, no matter your stance on the game, they make it shine.

Do survivors not leave scratch marks during a mid chase?

Actually, a lot of the time they don't. They'll just randomly stop for a second every few... well, seconds, which is hugely devestating for a tracking tool. That's why they're extremely unreliable and pretty much just there to show you a general area.

Edit: also, they get almost completely hidden by grass.

Nine times out of ten they don't...... Even a half brain dead monkey can kill bad survivors. Otz, Dowsey, Scott etc. All these guys prove how GOOD killers can be. As a killer, if you play well you are almost GUARANTEED to win. BTW a "win" is at LEAST 2 kills. Getting a 4k EVERY SINGLE GAME is absurd. There isn't a survivor who goes into EVERY game and escapes through the gate. ESPECIALLY with the stupid ass end game collapse (The dumbest thing added to the game for solo Q survivors.) As a solo survivor in red ranks you survive MAYBE 2 out of 10 times and that's usually when the killer if ######### around or playing a meme build. This game is BY FAR balanced towards the killer. Again to be capable of killing a 4 man SWF, (which happens SOOOOO OFTEN) is CRAZY that anyone complains in favor of killer.

Sad thing is I'M A KILLER MAIN!!!!! I have at LEAST 5k hours in game and 3k on killer. As this game gets more and more patches i play LESS and LESS survivor because it's damn near IMPOSSIBLE. Killer is SOOOO much less rage inducing it's the only side i can comfortably play without wanting to ram my controller through my face. I have been playing since release on console and have been red rank since. I am seriously astounded with the killer complaints.

I don't know about Dowsey, but both Scott and Otz regularly point out that they get beaten by predropping pallets and slammed gens.

  • I love that people still haven't realised that nearly every team has a SWF group in it.

Like, come on. SWF enables despicable people to get away with being despicable, but it's not the root cause of all killer woes. In fact, it's probably the root cause of the games longevity, because its nice to chill with friends.

  • That's probably a bugged spot where you cannot pick up. If they keep running back there, it's an exploit, which is normally considered cheating

  • First, I'd love for hooked survivors to have no collision either on the hook or for a few seconds afterward, and also basekit new DS. Seriously, having tunnel and camp protection being perks was a huge design flaw that should be dealt with.

Secondly, why was this moved to feedback? This isn't feedback, it's a thread about wishful think-

    Oooohhhhhhh

  • Two reasons. First, people be SWFing. Second, people be not casual SWFing and so killer is miserable because if you play a killer that can potentially challenge them they might hunt you down irl.

  • Wouldn't this make Legion one of the strongest, and without a doubt the easiest, killer to play in DbD? Just run Enduring and survivors can never get away. Drop a pallets hit them. Vault a window, hit them. It's like PH but at 110 speed and with zero punishment for failure

  • No, most people are fully aware of the strength of basement. Which is to say, it's only strong if the killer is basement camping and the team is going for saves, in which case I say BHVR fix canping, there's been dozens of perfectly viable suggestions.

  • BT should just make survivors lose collision. They could even buff it so that it doesn't have an activation requirement, you just get it no matter what.

  • In what world is it balanced if a team that's clearly worse at the game than you, and cannot loop you worth a damn, escapes? How did they earn that? Second chances and predropping pallets? Where's the skill? The effort?

  • Maybe. Thing is, it's better to have a terrible perk than a must-run perk like old Ruin/Undying was.

  • No way out isn't a great perk in its ptb form. 40 seconds of blocking the gate switch is very rarely useful, especially taking into account travel time and, yes, the ability to sit and wait in a locker.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

It's actually amazing how well faking a loop and running away from it works lol.

Even better when the killer tried to set up a mindgame

Oh gods, that is the bane of my existence. So many times have I started a mindgame only to end up mindgaminf myself.

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2014396#Comment_2014396

A survivor like that would only hurt their own team in the end tho. This would only work against a killer who doesn't really know what they are doing as well. Survivors definitely take skill to play.

And yes, looping effectively can be hard for newer survivor players.

No, they wouldn't, not if their team is doing gens. That's the brilliant part: everyone has this idea that potatoes play like that, but it is a winning stratagey because you are using your resources to deny the killer of an early down and any map pressure, and it doesn't come back to haunt you in the late game because in a "normal" trial the map will look pretty much the same, but now the killer has only got 1-2 hooks instead of 1 person dead, 2 people on death hook.

It is such an insidious playstyle that has crept in to the meta, and is almost the sole reason I'm a Blight main.

  • @Yords said:

Please explain to me how survivor doesn't take skill.

I mean, if you really want to get into it, you can just hold W and predrop pallets while running mindless second chance perks. Which is sadly a very effective strategy.

Ironically, I'd also say it's harder to learn to loop as a survivor than it is as a killer, though the late 2019 chase music changes made my favourite trick, faking a loop and then just running away, ridiculously useful.

  • Ugh, Twins need a hard rework. The fact that this is such a grey area is just awful. No other killer has anything like it.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Same for the other side as well. Nothing beats when the survivor straight up holds W and you're moonwalking at shack alone.

Especially if you though they were looking behind them but the next time you catch up you realise they were just panic-searching for a pallet

  • Yeah, DbD is in a particular state where if a good player goes against a bad player, the bad player often wins. Its so... Weird

  • That sentence doesn't make your point at all, so maybe try a little harder and use your words. Either that, or you have genuinely never heard of Haddonfield, The Game, Bloodlodge, Rotten Fields, etc.

Or just explain how it's even possible to loop a killer for five minutes without them being bad, that one could also be fun since it leads to the same conclusion.
