Unfairly nerfed I disagree had a game where someone got of hook fully healed and started fixing a gen so I downed them as

    A: couldent find anyone els

B: they were fully healed and back on a gen so clearly they are game to get taken out I still got d's which cost me the game.

And explain why huntress needs a nerf please

A little context: Sluzzy, the OP, has a history of making... Somewhat biased posts that border on the edge of pure trolling. Before this one was one about Huntress where they went on about how she is apparently a crutch killer that carries people to red ranks and needs a nerf.

And in case it's not yet clear enough, my entire comment was sarcasm.

These two killers are the only ones who match up agaisnt "deathsquads" ( I'll just call them comp teams). If the team doesn't make any decently sized mistakes, even Spirit isn't strong enough to 4k. Nurse, however, still is strong enough. Nurse has the potential to make any chase last 20 seconds. If you consider going down that fast a mistake from the survivors, then yes I suppose you are correct. I would argue that it isn't a mistake though, it is just the nurse playing well. Even tops teams playing incredibly well have lost to top nurses. That being said, most games at a high level end somewhere around a 2k with 8 hooks.

Not trying to say that these two are the most balanced btw, because in public games a decent player will win every game with these two.

That Nurse would be competing against teams with zero restrictions. Which means 4 DH/DS/Unbreakable and some Prove Thyself/IW/BT scattered about. And that's before we go look at the stacked medkits.

Not even the best Nurse can beat a team like that that isn't making mistakes. The maths just isn't there.

I'm sure those bubba players would be more than happy to switch it up for you. Stridor Spirit sound good to you? How about being a little less entitled and just be greatful sometimes?

That has to be the most arrogant and entitled way to call someone else out for perceived entitlement I have ever seen.

  • Once again, someone misses the point of why these are so hated.

You know what? How much fun do you have when you're playing against teams that just predrop pallets and hold W? How much fun do you have watching gens pop left and right because you literally cannot end chases quick enough tha KS to the cheesiest of stratagies? Because that's pretty much the survivor version.

  • @Chordyceps said:

It's allowed because removing player agency is a terrible idea. They can discourage it sure, but they really cannot remove the player's ability to do something, that's just terrible game design. It's frustrating for sure, but ironically enough, removing the ability to do so entirely would be even less healthy.

Facecamping is removing the facecamped survivor's agency. They have no other option but to hang there and die. So it's still terrible design.

I don't see how. It's widely accepted that only Nurse and Spirit have a chance at the highest level....so technically it HAS to be one of these that is the most balanced.

Neither of those two can beat a deathsquad that doesn't make mistakes, so that's a very poor metric to use.

Then u respect the pallet and wait forever before survivor drop pallet? Just m 1 dude it's much more efficient. U r not instant down why hold it lol.

You really don't know how Plague works, do you? If they're close enough to stun you, you could have hit them. If they bait you, too bad. You've already hit them.

  • Yes, because someone is actually more likely to have their characters strong perks (if any). I get far more Adam's deliverencing, Bill's Unbreakabling, Laurie's Decisively Striking, Megs Adrenalining, David's Dead Harding... Okay, not that one, everyone uses Dead Hard.

Yeah while the survivor don't use pallet stun u and destroy your power. Why would a survivor refuse to drop pallet when u r holding your puke?

Why would you walk into a pallet?

Her puke is slower than huntress axes. If u hold puke in tight pallet loop u will be likely stunned and loose your power. She can't use power in tight loops just like huntress can't use her hatches

Uh, yeah she can. You charge it up, get relatively close, and unload. I do it all the time, both to infect survivors and hit them with Corrupt Purge.

She is not like Huntress, once she's fully charged she moves at 4.4 metres per second, aka Huntress' base movement speed, and her missiles hitboxes are tiny.

Blight is horrible on console and needs to be better. Its ridiculous and should be more like pc movement. But besides all that you mentioned consistent counterplay. Honestly i dont think any killer should have consistent counterplay. If the counterplay is consistent then the killer is probably garbage and can be beaten "consistently". I would much rather have skillful counterplay that may only work based on the survivor and killers skill not based on the limitations of the killers kit.

Having consistent counterplay means having counterplay that doesn't revolve around the killer screwing up or getting breathtakingly unlucky. Blight at small loops, Huntress/Billy/Oni at maze tiles, Trapper and avoiding grass, etc.

  • Blight. He's the only killer that forces the survivors to actually outplay him, and he has an actual fair skill curve. (I'm assuming the killer in question isn't an exploiter.)

Nurse is just too strong to ever be fair. A good Nurse has absolutely no counterplay, by definition that cannot be fair. Spirit is both too strong and too easy. Billy is honestly too weak, he can only really play shiot loops with his power agasint good survivors. He's kind of the opposite of Blight in that regard. Hag is Hag. Freddy is Freddy. And Bubba just doesn't quite have enough mobility/has an unfair chase style that he can do.

I didn't feel like giving a proper response to another one of these threads.

If you can't handle reading the end game chat, then turn off the chat.

I doubt every single game you get has a tunneler or face camper, in fact that sounds like a lie because that is not at all true.

Saying only killers are being toxic is just wrong, I am sorry but that is the truth. Both sides are equally toxic and if we are being logical here, there are far more toxic survivors than killers since they make up most of the playerbase.

DBD whether it looks like it or not is actually in the most balanced state it has ever been in, despite several pressing issues that haven't been solved yet.

I have definitely had weeks where literally every single killer is facecamping or tunnelling, and right now I've had a straight month of survivors just W/predropping. Only encountering extremely miserable playstyles definitely happens.

  • I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you either have the worst imaginable luck, or you have a very generous definition of "tunnel" and "facecamp." Or both, because let's be honest when you look at a trial through a different lens it often looks like a different trial.

  • Nurse, Oni, Plague. Nurse because... Umm, Old Nurse. Oni because starting a trial in his power would be insane. And Plague because you cannot loop her, and you cannot run from her. It's like Deathslinger but with no cooldown, slowdown or reload and an insane amount of missiles.

  • By this logic there's little to no reason to buy any chapters beyond a small handful.

  • OhTofu cannot Plague. Like, at all. He is a spray'n'pray guy.

  • Chained maze tiles are a pretty big problem, I agree. Hopefully the Devs will work on... Maybe even just angling them differently so that there's a bigger gap between resources would work.

  • Favourite survivor? Zarina.

Favourite killer? Blight, I think, but I'm taking a bit of a break at the moment so maybe Plague?

"counterplay" you didn't even read the post which in & of itself claimed that the "counterplay" of his "counterplay" has "counterplay"

It doesn't REMOVE counterplay, it adds a more skill based counterplay in which both sides have equal opportunity to outplay each other

and no you don't need to edit anything, I can press the built in DPI button on my mouse to double by sensitivity if I wanted to J flick consistently the technology already existed and even exists on like $10-$15 hardware

and also blight wasn't designed with console in mind, tough its the devs game and if they wanted to do something about bridging the control difference between pc and console they probably would have by now since its been 3.5 years

I did read the post, "counterplay" is pure myth and based entirely off of both guesswork and the Blight in question screwing up. Same as Nurse "counterplay." if you want to be entitled to a miserable slog of a killer, go play her and let people that want to play a well-balanced killer actually play a well-balanced killer.

But of course, you're a "tough shite, I get my broken toys!" kind of person based on how you addressed the console issue. And you literally pointed out that you're using external hardware to achieve this exploit.

  • @SkelXton said:

First of all, I appreciate your thoughts! Based on your comment, you must have not read what I wrote very carefully because I addressed both of these points. [See #2 for counterplay, and Q1 for console users]

Also, you brought up a interesting point, comparing blight to nurse but with more steps. Does nurse have counterplay, and is her power intentional? If so, why would we be worried about a character who is obviously weaker and requires more work (Quote: "With extra steps")?

We should get our priorities straight then!

I did read, actually, I just don't think that brushing such huge problems aside is a reasonable way to address them. Because like it or not the counterplay to Blight's 180 is pure guesswork, which isn't actually counterplay and isn't even remotely consistent, and if you've ever plugged in a controller to play Blight then you'd know just how aful he is on console.

  • DS should never be used aggressively. If the Devs want to buff it so that it's a better anti-tunnel perk, fine. So long as people aren't using it for free aggro protection.

  • Blight's 180 removes his only counterplay and really doesn't take that much to learn, not if you're already decent at Blight. I am by no means some amazing Blight, but I picked it up in 10 minutes with nothing more than a video clip. And promptly never used it after that session because it's blatantly unfair and essentially turns Blight into Nurse But With Extra Steps. Seriously, I cannot stress this enough: it removes the only counterplay Blight has.

Also, it requires you to edit external settings/hardware and isn't available for console users.

  • I need more coffee before I can accurately comprehend this.

Read what I said. I'm complaining that facecamping is incentivized when it is the equivalent of running an infinite on a killer.

Yep, still seems like you're complaining that infinites were removed. And you're trying to equate them with facecamping for some reason, but that's such a ridiculous comparison I wasn't even going to mention it.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2041389#Comment_2041389

You probably think its more common because you're looking out for it more, the only change I've really seen in survivor behavior recently is they seem to be a tad bit more efficient on gens

I don't quite think you understand: Every killer I have mained for the last year has been to counter W and predropped pallets. It's pretty hard to not notice something you despise that much.

  • It is a perk designed to directly rob the killer of a hit. It cannot be fair by it's very definition. The only other perk that even comes close is Adrenaline, the perk that rewards genrushing.

  • Are you seriously complaining that infinites were removed?

  • My current build is Infectious Fright/PGTW/BBQ/Enduring. Pretty basic and mindless. Not much else to say.

If you're just learning him, maybe run Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer and a fourth perk that helps with the m1 chase, like STBFL. Eventually you will get better at his chase.

One-shot perks are always a decent consideration for basic chase Blight. MYC is amazing thanks to his mobility, Undying/Devour Hope/TOTH is honestly ridiculous. If you're good at m1 killer, definitely consider these.

Chase perks like Enduring or I'm All Ears are good. Most obsession perks are bad. Sloppy is terrible unless you are going to mostly be using basic chases, Nurses Calling is a consideration but its not the best. And Undetectable is almost worthless on him, he screams his presence constantly.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2040978#Comment_2040978

A lot of killers actually DO have mechanics against holding W.

Trapper has the ability to surprise survivors with a hidden trap, capturing them and voiding all gained distance

Wraith has the ability to cloak and gain in on survivors.

Billy has the ability to literally run and even instadown survivors that run in straight lines, voiding distance AND reducing distance gained per healthstate.

    Huntress has hatchets.

Nurse can literally teleport the distance away.

Hag, same with Trapper, voids all distance.

Bubba, bit tougher as his chainsaw barely gains him any distance, but its an instadown, so the distance per healthstate is less.

Freddy, as long as there are generators, there are ways for him to decrease distance. Let alone that some fake pallets or well placed traps massively reduce gained distance.

Clown, has bottles to slow survivors down and to speed himself up, gained distance isnt really a thing for him.

Spirit, basically Wraith except she can deal damage whenever she gets out of phasing.

Legion, can constantly use sprintburst to catch up.

Demogorgon, can use his portals or shred to lower distance. Probably the weakest killer for closing gaps on this list.

Oni, same as Billy, except more mobility.

Deathslinger, can damage you, shoot you and down you before you can even gain any distance with running a straight line.

PH, while not the strongest in this scenario, better than Demo purely because he can use his power to hit you through walls.

Blight, just bounces a bit to catch up.

Twins, well, if you're injured, she'll just gets Victor to down you.

That leaves Myers, Ghostface, Doctor, Plague and Piggy that dont really have abilities to take advantage of survivors running straight lines.

BUT GUESS WHAT? Maps aren't straight lines, they are squares. So the holding W only works very temporarily as 90% of the killers have a way of quickly getting a healthstate. Doctor can even prevent you from using a loop at all, meaning once you hold W, there is nothing really usable left..

Holding W is not an issue in the game. Survivors are slower than killers. I rather have 100 survivors using W strats over 1 survivor using 3 godtier tiles that spawned next to each other with windows facing each other.

None of these can actually prevent survivors from gaining distane or reaching a pallet. Only Blight, Spirit and Nurse can, or as I see them, the trinity of mobility. Want me to break it down?

Trapper: Thats not how Trapper works. At all. You can't hide traps under pallets, and if they're holding W then there's nothing you can do.

Wraith: Not unless you are stacking windstorm add-ons together, and even then it only half-counters W and does nothing for predropping pallets.

Billy: His chainsaw does nothing for W/predrop, it's easy to dodge unless the billy is backrevving you and his cooldown gives you alsmot as much distance as he gains, sometimes even more.

Huntress: Sort of, but she still requires survivors to be potatoes because of the range.

Hag: same as Trapper. Her power is for trapping loops - if the survivors don't use them, you don't have a power.

Bubba: His power is literally countered by W/predrop. In fact, he forces that playstyle. That's the biggest complain survivors have about him.

    Freddy: Same as Bubba.

    Clown: Same as Bubba.

Legion: 4 second stun. 4. That's 16m distance. It's even worse than Billy.

Demogorgon: Same issue as Huntress. Due to the distance, he's easy to dodge. Probably the only killer in this list I have the least amount of practice trying to counter W/predrop with, though, so maybe I'm missing something.

Oni: His counterplay is also just W/predrop, however in his case it's to stop him from getting his power. Still, of everyone on this list other than the holy trinity of mobility killers he is the one that counters it the best, but "best" isn't "counters it well."

Deathslinger: Sort of, yes. The reason I mained Deathslinger was because he could do something about it, however W/predrop is still his main counterplay and still extremely effective.

Pyramid Head: Nope. W is his counter. He doesn't even get the predrop part most of the time. Just W. W, W, W.

Twins: I have been trying, and the results aren't great. Technically, yes, if you play like an absolute... Ahem, "lovely person" then they sort of counter predrop/W, however at that point you're just hardcore facecamping and tunnelling. I though Victor would be a good W counter but you need to injure them as Charlotte and she's a basic 115 killer. If you try to use Victor they just kidnap him and waste as much time as W/predrop in just as frustrating a way.

Holding W is maybe the biggest issue in the game right now. Assuming there's a 10m gap, which is very small, it takes the killer around 15 seconds to catch up. Add in predropping and teammates actually doing gens and it's just GG. And not the fun kind of GG. The kind where you basically didn't even get to play the game and just lost to cheesy strats.

  • Reported for nothing? Hey, nice! I honestly kind of find it guiltily funny when that stuff happens. Personally, my favourite is I once got reported for using Padded Jaws on Trapper, it was the genuinely funniest moment in DbD. I was so shocked I lost my cool and started swearing and stuff in my explanation of what Padded Jaws even is and I felt kinda bad. They were actually a viewer playing with a streamer, too, and the streamer messaged me and we apologised to each other and chatted about the whole thing and now I have someone else to watch on Twitch :)

I'm sorry about the death threats though, that's never funny. You should absolutely report those comments and hopefully get such a miserable person banned so they can't harass anyone else.

  • They could, but medkits would have to be nerfed.

Add-ons aren't that crazy any more, and the three that are consume themselves upon activation. The only exception to this is medkit bonus charges, which literally just give you self heals, which is an extremely strong effect.

It really isn't, as some one who mostly plays killer I have noticed no difference in performance

It really, really is. The biggest reason I main Blight, and Deathslinger befor whom, is becaus wof the stupid hold-W meta that's been creeping in. I used to ONYL have to deal with it once every few trials, but then it got more commone. Suddenly every other trial was a predrop-and-W fest. And I thought that was bad.

Now, it's almost every single trial. No looping, no gameplay, just W to every pallet and then W some more. Unless the killer is Blight, Nurse or Spirit then it's the easiest win.

Of course slugging is tunneling. If the Killer goes after the unhooked person, they are tunneling, regardless if they pick the Survivor up or not. Not getting hit by DS because of slugging does not mean that the Killer was not tunneling. The same the other way around, getting hit by a DS from a Survivor who was repairing a Gen does not mean that the Killer tunneled.

"Tunnelling" means getting tunnel vision. If the killer is slugging the person that just got unhooked, they aren't tunnelling.

Now, if they were slugging the person and camping the slug, that's tunneling, because clearly are just trying to kill that one person.

  • If the killer slugged you, they didn't tunnel you, your teammates can come pick you up. DS/Unbreakable isn't an anti-tunnel combo, it's an immortallity combo.

  • @HexSweetie said:

Since everybody inevitably disagreed, I think DS needs a rework at that point, who will use it when it’s became even more situational than before to satisfy the only-killer mains who just truly refuse to counter it and or even acknowledge it has a counterplay-

Oh well, let the tunnelers percentage skyrocket and bomb the game xD

Seriously, how are you being tunneled if you're working on a gen, saving someone, healin someone or cleansing a hex? DS nerf changes nothing about getting tunneled, it just stops it from being used aggressively.

  • @RepostRiposte said:

    How is this "looping 2.0"

The entire point of looping is to gain enough distance to hold W from one tile to the next, it's literally always been like this

But now there is no looping, just the W and predropped pallets. The killer has no chance to catch anyone or end chases quickly.

  • @Shroompy said:

I don't understand why this is becoming such a big deal now, this has been a thing for a VERY long time. But I'm assuming some streamer said it and now the parrots have come out to spread the word.

Because now it's far more common.

  • It's insane. It is the most OP add-on in the game besides Tombstone Piece. It literally makes him genuinely impossible to loop unless you're in a really good spot with really tight corners and windows.

There is no SWF in this game, stop to say everything is due to SWF.

SWF doesn't even represent 5% of the trials...

I honestly cannot tell if you're being sarcastic, so all I'll say so that I'm not actually complaining. Solo is underpowered AF and if all my trials were agaisnt people not blatantly on each others friends lists (I check when I can and my Spidey sense is almost always spot on) then I would be extremely bored of the easy, perkless Trapper 4k's.

Seriously, SWF is fine. Some people abuse it, most people just use it.

@MadLordJack If you put 4 solo players together who know how to play, the game will still be hard for the killer. As long as people can put up decent chases and do generators, it’s game over. I just rarely get teammates that can do these things. I can be getting chased for ages and when I’m finally downed people are just walking around the map. SWF definitely have an advantage, but some are awful. If you have 4 bad players in a SWF, they’re still going to be bad whether they’re on mic or not. 😂

I guess it depends on how you define "bad". To me, if a team can't loop you and just holds W and instadrops when they realise it, they're pretty bad. They'll probably win because that wastes more than enough time to get the gens done, but they're still bad.
