Seriously, it's insane that this is even a question. People play characters because they like them. People wear the pride charm to show support. These two things are clearly not the same. You should absolutely know what the pride charm means, so deliberately targeting people for it shows one of two things: you're breathtakingly ignorant and you hate rainbows, or you're a homophobe. Targeting someone for playing a minority character doesn't have the same gravity because people play characters they like, not to show support for said characters ethnicity.

And you are not understanding what I am saying. We are at an impasse
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228377#Comment_2228377
And yet racist people tend to be very free with their slurs. It is very common to see racial name calling in messeges and poat game chats. Why would homophobes be any different?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228386#Comment_2228386
And what im saying is, not liking the charm and tunneling someone because of it is exactly the same as not like adam and tunelling them. If in post game chat or messeges, the reason is i dont like the charm or i dont like adam without any other statement, then none of them are bannable.
However, it seems that their is almost a go to association with not liking the charm and being a homophobe. One that could possibly get someone banned.
I am not automatically racist if i tunnel all Fengs and i am not automatically homophobic if i dont like rainbows.
A charm is not the same as a character. Tunneling someone for playing a specific character is you being a miserable scumbag. Tunneling someone for showing their support for LGBT+ people's is you being a homophobe. There's no two ways about it, that charm represents a lot more than just a few pretty colours and if you don't like the look of it, tough shite.
-
I agree, completionists scare me. I am an extremely masochistic person who is probably insane and they still scare me. It shows a kind of extreme determination that I find rather frightening.
-
Is it reportable to be an overt homophobe? Yes, yes it is, just like if you were to tunnel Claudette's and Adams and claim it's because they're black.
Outing yourself as targeting members or supporters of a minority is absolutely grounds for punishment. Tunneling people because of the character or perks they are using is not.
People wear the pride charm to display that they are a member of supporter of an extremely targeted group of people. Do the maths on what happens if you admit to tunneling them for it.

As a Survivor, I'm very team oriented, I sacrifice myself or potentially even others in order to maximise the number of escapes, often leaving strong areas because people are working there to go down in deadzones. I sometimes stealth around but usually I don't bother, hence my always using OoO. I also have a tendency to preserve pallets a bit too much.
As a Killer, I'm extremely manipulative and aggressive. I tend to take control of an area, getting rid of strong pallets but leaving up weaker ones to draw people's attention. It's better if they waste my time at a strong rock tile than hold W into a deadzone. This works especially well for me because I'm a Plague main and she is well capable of manipulating people into essentially killing themselves.
-
Dead Hard exists because the Devs didn't think about the consequences of giving survivors a bunch of second chance perks in a game where killers have to trick survivors into making mistakes.

I love "playing hide and seek" in this game. The more I see people complain about it being boring (in other words all they want is to be handed survivors to chase and knock down), the more validated I feel doing it.
It's boring and frustrating because it's so easy for the survivors and completely undynamic for the killer. People want chases, that's why the game has such a large, long-lasting playerbase. Which is also why people hate presrop-and-W, it's essentially the same thing as stealth: incredibly easy for the survivor and no real counter for the killer.

Looping has so prevalent that new players don´t even know what juking is.
Juking means losing the killer mid chase. Tricking him and losing him. Thats whats fun. Running 10 times around the same rock isn´t.
I'm going to be perfectly honest, such a ludicrous idea as survivors being able to completely lose killers mid chase being a part of the base game hadn't even occured to me.
So what you are asking for, to sum it all up, if for there to be mindgames without looping, survivors having the ability to completely lose killers, and for killers to simultaneously be in control of a trial (power role).
Right. That makes sense.

Juking and Mindgames are boring?
Looping doesn't exist in that scenario because every killer is too powerful, so mindgames dont either. And I don't know what you mean by "juking", to be perfectly honest it sounds like you're talking about little movements to make the killers job slightly harder that in reality don't do a thing.

Killer should be more menacing. Remember the time back when you started and you had to hide from the killer?
Now survivors don´t feel scared. Because killer isn´t a threat. If you make a mistake as survivor you have tons of second chance perks that make up for it.
So you want DbD to be a boring old hide-and-seek simulation with no replayablility and no dynamic chases? Because that's what I remember about when I first started.
-
Ash just has three terrible perks.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2227597#Comment_2227597
Shouldn't the survivors feel like that?
Instead it's the killers that feel like one tiny mistake could be their last.
This is what's fundamentally wrong with the game. Power roles are switched.
Maybe. I think killer should be harder because you're essentially countering 4 people, but right now it's just way overshot the mark and gone into the realm of "play Nurse, Blight or Spirit if you want to have a vaguely okay time where you can actually make mistakes without losing".
-
I've always felt that the problem is survivors knowing to spread out and not be scared. 4 people on 4 different gens within 10 seconds is pretty standard for me, and as far as I'm aware that's how the game is designed. The first 3 exist to slow down the last 2.
Not that I think it's okay to have a game designed this way, it makes killer so insanely stressful because one moderate slip up and you're done.

Yeah, but also all languages and cultures use their own pronunciation conventions when dealing with nouns from other cultures or languages. If you want to use the correct pronunciation, go for it.

Being who you are is freeing, and to have people see it and accept it is a wonderful thing! It's lovely to have allies and I think a nice hug one or a charm of people holding hands would be great ;w;!!!!
I'm gonna be honest, all I can think about right now is cuddling all the killers and they have to stand there and take it before getting a free hit.
-
RE chapter looks pretty cool. Nemesis could use some small buffs to make getting to T3 both possible against sweat squads and actually worthwhile as well (getting mutation from hitting infected survivors, longer range, shorter cooldown, etc.) He actually looks really fun to play against because, like Huntress and Plague, he doesn't get free zoning (curse you, Demogorgon, PH and Slinger!).
I'm looking forward to most of what they announced, even the auto-ban feature (seriously, anyone thinking that they'll permanently implement something that will be significantly worse than OG MMR is crazy). I'm willing to bet that it will be so lax as to not even exist. Probably just some text analyser for the post-game chat (working off a seperate code than the filter) mixed with a classic auto-ban complaint-overload and a complaint limit that can be sent before you either get locked out or ignored for being a troll. In other words, it probably won't do anything but ban overt racists and homophobes.
I'm really looking forward to the events. I don't expect much, I just like being overloaded with BP. It's a nice feeling for anyone who hasn't been playing for 3000 hours.
-
You know, I'm willing to bet that no-one really has control over who they are or who they feel for, at least not in such a grand way. I certainly never chose to be trans or bi, it's just... Me. The only choice was whether to embrace it or not.
And I hope that people out there struggling with that choice know that it's not just us queers that will accept them. I'm willing to bet the majority of people I've seen wearing the pride charm are cis heterosexual people (unless most people I play against are LGBT+), and sometimes I wish this game had a hug emote.
Be a bit wierd for Zarina to go up and cuddle Spirit, but hey.
-
A good Deathslinger, because people massively overrate a Deathslinger's skill to make themselves feel better about losing to them and so my super secret playstyle that doesn't impact genuinely good Deathslingers will wreck the ones your average survivor says are good.
-
Spirit and Plague have the absolute best add-ons. Doctor and Blight come next, because though most of their add-ons are good they have some meme ones.

I have seen posts here about killers tunneling because of the charm, so I thought I would address it. Heres one, https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/253278/pride-charm-getting-camped#latest
I've seen more posts about false accusations than false accusations.
-
Have people really been doing that? Or is this a very small but vocal minority that are being given disproportionate attention?
Maybe it's just a server thing, on AU it's very easy to tell the homophobes because they outright attack you. Not that I've seen any since the charm was released, of either the accusations or the homophobes.
Edit: to clarify, I'm meaning the people tossing around false accusations of homophobia.

Not even close, all of her perks range from decent to very strong. She is one of the few characters who doesn't have a bad perk

While true, it still helps to keep all reported cases of bad behavior genuine, as it will ensure that all cases are treated seriously. I'm also NOT saying you don't know that or intended to say otherwise, just piping up for everyone elses sake.
That is a commendable effort, but I'm fairly certain that the chat logs are the only thing the Devs go off of in terms of bigotry given what can happen in game, unless it's extremely blatant with video evidence (which is very hard to come by where charms are concerned, I don't even know how that would work).
-
The problem is that not only does this exist, it gets used to justify actual bigotry in turn. In fact, I'd say that victimised people get accused of trying to manipulate others far more than people pretend to be victimised.

His power is basically free BBQ.
Their power is basically the ability to isolate and down survivors, and is in fact the precise opposite of BBQ in terms of information given, which is significantly more useful.

@Pulsar said:
You mean Legion?
Legion has a power, its just that most people only use half of it.
-
I want it buffed to become the killer's Dead Hard.
-
I'm going to be honest, survivors don't at all need perks, so adding a survivor version of Devour Hope or something would be genuinely crippling. I can't imagine what this game would be like if killers had to hunt down and crush up to 4 perks just to make the game playable, in addition to the objective overload and massive stress that is just playing killer in Dead by Daylight.
Edit: sorry, up to 16.
-
At 3 minutes 20 seconds, the gens could have been all completely finished.
That is the true winning by default. Predropping pallets, holding W, slamming gens. What you're talking about is the disparity between SWF and solo que, unfair matchmaking, and the fact that your team didn't have at least 4 gens done, as any decent team would have. Does it sound harsh? Does it sound unsympathetic? Absolutely. But blame the terrible matchmaking system that allows true potatoes and/or chill players to get matched with killers that play like that and don't get punished for it like they could and should be. Because that killer didn't win by default because of tunnelling, they won by default like a Knockout/Third Seal gamer does: by preying on people they know cannot stop them.

Yeah that is true for Pop since he can just zoom from hook to Gen, Infectious Fright seems pretty good since thought only works with basic attacks but turns out works with any attack so before picking up you can just run at the nearest survivor to try and get a hit then go back to the downed person. Make your choice is pretty good for Blight actually because he can run very far at his final token which should be far enough that perk activates and rush back to hook. Very glad that they made it so now Make your Choice causes the unhooker to scream so it's sorta easier to notice if someone is unhooked.
I would just call this "Nowhere to Hyde" build since can't even safely hide from him with those perks or even escape.
This is actually my regular Blight build, and there is something about Pop that a lot of people don't take into account: you never have to choose between kicking a gen and chasing a survivor. Not only can you rush from one side of the map to the other, you can kick the gen and immediatelty chase the person who was working on it because they can't get enough distance by running away.

You aren't wrong. But it also goes both ways. Sometimes when I get carried away slugging with Nurse I'll depip from a 4k.
Honestly, that's what's been happening to me ever since rank reset. I've played dozens of games, lost about 6, and gotten about 8 pips so now I'm rank 6.
-
Pop (he's by far the best user of that perk), Infectious Fright, Enduring, and just for the hell of it, Make Your Choice.
-
I'm a bit annoyed because it's just a charm. I'm not mad that the charm exists, I just don't think that we should applaud minimum effort. They could at least have released a bunch of recolours with various flags.

No, I didn't. It's pretty telling about the community that LGBT rep threads always blow up like this.

A lot of lgbt people play this game for some reason. It has the largest lgbt community in any game I've played personally so it's not surprising to me one bit that this topic ALWAYS blows up.
The fact that people wanting representation is controversial says a lot about the community.
-
Yes, they are. A dedicated team can finish all of them in mere minutes against the best Nurse.
I'd fix it by replacing the hold-a-button system with part fetching and the like, so as to force potential interactions, lower the gap between mobile and standard killers, and make the whole thing a lot less boring for survivors.
-
Yes.
-
Why on earth would I ever use an event item that I didn't have dozens of?
-
Lucky Break/Iron Will/Object of Obsession.
Proof that survivors aren't held to the same standard as killers.
-
Binding of Kin. From the teaser I was hoping for a somewhat different kind of killer, and then we got literally the weakest killer in the game, with a concept I wasn't a huge fan of personally, who had so much counterplay (and still does) that jumping in a locker took away their entire power (guess what, it still does).
-
This is a thing that has happened.

It always goes the same way.
Thread poster brings up a point about LGBT inclusivity, positive or negative, and it always (always) devolves into pointless and immature bickering by people on both sides of the topic. Thread goes into the double digits of pages, and eventually gets locked despite 2-3 warnings by the mods (as seen right above your own comment).
I'm going to be perfectly honest here, I think the pointless bickering is mostly from the... Let's say, "the ones who don't don't want people to be represented".
-
It's a bit shocking how these things always get out of hand. Like, we have threads about potentially begging to take teams away from new, glitch-free content for the purposes of console optimization that go for 15-20 pages of people agreeing with one another, but basic, effortless inclusivity is mega controversial.

Achievement Hunter.

I pronounce it F-eh-ng, based around stereotypical anglacised pronunciation.

They have similar powers - a powerful short-range attack and secondary effect. Them, and Demogorgon (portals).
So if anything, they're both reskins of Demogorgon. (Clearly they're not, but still.)
