  • Um... Looping is playing the game. Camping is NOT playing the game.

so whats the problem? there is literally no reason to complain about then unless your on a bad system like mobile or are a liar and dc a lot.

crashes are rare nowadays so you don't have an argument here. sure someone can crash but if they don't dc the timer will be short, this is better for the general health of the game and that's not refutable since it reduces the frequency of players leaving the match in any forum.

also the only assumption i have is that you dc a lot, so unless you can prove otherwise and you can't i can have them. the fact that your not really saying why you don't like them kinda supports it.

Never mind. There's no point. You are never going to care because it doesn't affect you. Well done, congratulations. You actually think that people don't suicide on hook.

  • Its just how people work. A lot of survivors think that survivor is the hard side and killer is simple and easy. Amusingly, they don't play much killer. They just don't think about the fact that they only need to do well at 2-3 chases, whereas killers need to absolutely destroy all the time.

So, naturally, they are convinced they are the superior player, and that the only way you could have beaten them was not by overcoming their skill but by cheating. So, everyone that beats them is scum and used scummy tactics, and anyone that they beat sucks and deserves to be shite on.

There's killers that have a similar mentality, to be sure, but it's just far more common with survivors because there's far more survivors.

looks like we got a rage quitter and one that possibly does swf often, crashes don't happen daily and for me its not even weekly and i play on console. sure back in the days crashing was common but thats not the case anymore so stop using it as an excuse.

    Dont strawman.

I have fibre internet at 100mb/s. My connection is stable. I don't play SWF, and I don't DC. And I used to think DC penalties were great, til last time they were enabled and I discovered literally all of this. And it's probably going to happen again, because screw anyone that's not near a server.

So take your assumptions and eat them. You're doing nothing but causing problems with false information.

  • Gen speeds aren't the problem, it's potential minimum chase time. It's fine to lose 1, 2 or even 3 gens before your first hook, but if every survivor plays safe after that and they have the pallets for it? You're screwed.

  • Autohaven: The maps that people somehow think are balanced even though more often than not easily chainable tiles spawn in series.

    Yeah. Seems balanced.

Seriously, I almost never see game-winning deadzones in Autohaven maps. Sure, there might be a side with nothing on it... And only 1 or 2 easy to do generators, while everything else is is safe as old Ironworks.

  • @TheWarNung said:

His low FOV is intentional. It's the downside he has to overcome in exchange for having the best mobility in the game.

Every killer has a weakness. Some move slower, some have long cooldowns. Blight's weakness is that his camera is at ant level.

Embrace it. Who cares how tall you are when you can boink-boink-smack?

So somehow it's justified that he cannot see survivors when they can clearly see them, he gets screwed over by grass that other killers can clearly see over, and he cannot track scratchmarks in maps like Wreckers Yard?

If they want him to have a low FoV, he should be the size of Hag. Otherwise, it's not really justifiable.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Id rather have the dc penalty with a few people get slapped with a 2 min ban than have thousands of people dc for no reason and get away with it.

Til your one of those people getting punished for no reason while almost all the rest just suicide.

Oh, and by the way, it's not a 2 minute ban, it starts at 5 and escalates rapidly. And it takes about 24 hours to reset. So a single crash a day could lead to a day-long ban at the end of the week.

The penalties are stupid and don't actually work. If you split the difference between DC's and suicides, that number won't justify the number of people that get screwed over.

  • Hopefully soon, probably never. It's clearly supposed to be a feature, yet I've not seen a dev explain exactly why it is, especially since he isn't a small-size killer and is basically getting the worst of both worlds for no reason.

Trying to get attention by telling a spammer to stop? If someone was consistently poking your face irl would you not tell them to stop? People I see shaming and belittling them are also usually responding to the Prescott people acting like an absolute douche to them, not saying it's right, but it's a response to toxic behavior. They breed a toxic environment and intentionally try to piss others off.

It isn't the same. If someone was poking me in the face irl, they clearly don't care if I tell them to stop or not, since in every culture such behaviour is frowned upon or forbidden.

Drawing attention to this crap is the stupidest way to deal with it, especially if you are belittling and insulting them. If someone was poking me in the face, I'd grab their finger. If someone wouldn't stop talking to me, an actual and direct comparison, I would ignore them til they left. The thing you are supposed to do because it works.

  • You have precisely described why I had to stop maining her. I wish that didn't happen, she's still one of my favourite killers even so, but it really was taking a toll on me to lose trials because the server just goes "... nope."

  • The Asylum maps (mostly Disturbed Ward) are the ones I hope are up next. I want my favourite map (Father Campbell's Chapel) to be even prettier, and I want Disturbed Ward to not disturb me to see it on my screen.

  • A big part about bubba is learning when he's going to collide with absolutely nothing and go into a tantrum, which is kind of stupid that that happens but it's in the game and probably not going away any time soon. So, be careful when going around a loop, and if you collide with the aforementioned nothingness, take note of it for next time.

They have a lower penalty when they hit an Object. Dont know if that is intended tho. But the Attack Delay is not as punishing when the Killer hits an Object.

There's also a significant difference between a normal attack and a lunge. Perhaps that's the difference? Object hits arent calculated as lunges?

  • Yeah. I like the idea of flashlights highlighting traps/coaked wraith, but destroying traps and stunning wraith/nurse? I don't think that should be a thing, that's such a huge power boost to the item just because the killer happened to be... Well, playing one of those killers.

  • I mean... every side has OP things. As far as BNP's go, I'm okay with it. It's use is offset by its rarity. I certainly prefer BNP's, Iri addons and autoheals to keys and Mori's. A single BNP doesn't change the game nearly as much as people think. Yeah, it's strong, and yeah, it's a big advantage, but it doesn't literally cut off half a trial.

  • I wait near the threshold to see if I'm needed. I also do it to give a few hits to the killer. Don't see the point in t-bagging, though, that's basically the equivalent of kebabing.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

This is a big "if" I have as well.

If we go by the current offerings in the store, this years blight cosmetics will cost around 21 thousand iridescent shards.

From 0 shards that's about 500 matches to earn enough shards for a set.

At 10 minutes per match that's about 83 hours of matches.

I'm preparing my next video and this is a big part of it.

Hopefully they simply forgot to mention it.

I don't know whether to thank you or curse you for doing that maths. Especially since they usually release several blighted cosmetic sets.

  • No, it's mostly the people that go out of their way to shame and bellittle them, thus giving them more attention and fuelling what they themselves consider a problem instead of simply letting it slide, that I see. It's especially funny when they call them names and don't see the irony in that they are trying to get attention by feeding on the existence of these so-called "bottom feeders."

  • @FrootLoops said:

if they can't sell the DLC does that mean it becomes available with shards?

No, that's still "selling," even it it's not for real money. It gets locked and/or removed from stores so that no transactions, profitable or otherwise, can take place, since the company has no right to oversee such transactions because you cannot sell what you do not own.

  • It's just another little advantage so that people can have their little techs. It's annoying and it doesn't make any sense, but I doubt it will ever get changed because it's nice t-bag insurance.

Some people only like the interaction with other players. For those dbd is simply the wrong game.

That's literally the only reason to play multiplayer games: Interacting with other players. I'm not defending being an idiot about in and literally throwing a trial because you want to get chased, but that is also the sole reason to play DbD: To interact with other players.

  • @Orion said:

Do you, though? Last time I reported an on-going crime, I just saw the cops go toward the area and interact with the suspects. Never heard from them again.

If it's happening to you? Yes. To take this down a few notches from murder, if someone tags your house they tell you if the person was caught.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198192/what-is-the-point-of-reporting-players

By that definition what would be the point of reporting a crime or murder either 😂

You actually get feedback for that, so it isn't really comparable.

But how many of those are new players that won't leave in a few days because of the grind, awful matchmaking, bugs, macrotransactions? I mean, the global steam achievements say loads about how many people stayed to play DbD in the longrun, considering that only ~14% of survivors and ~8% of killers reached rank 10.

Who cares - a consistent increase in players is a consistent increase in players. Even if it's all different people... DbD isn't free-to-play.

  • I'm one of the few people that actually had a good experience with MMR, though I know the majority didn't. I was getting games, as killer and survivor, that were decent. It did start out a bit wierd, but it was all right at the end. So I'm actually hopeful that the fixed MMR system will actually work.

  • Or.... Steam charts.

Seriously, just because DbD took a 6k dip last month doesn't change the fact that their playerbase has almost doubled in the last year on Steam alone.

  • @Endstille said:

You are just wrong on that one.

Good survivors can fool good nurses. There is counterplay to her and it is not just hiding but hiding is something that is completely overlooked from most of the survivors. Giving a killer a free chase 10-15seconds into the game is simply not the smartest thing to do whether you like it or not. A lack of respect from survivors towards killers surely plays a role in that regard too.

I'm sorry, but I'm not wrong. The problem with Nurse is that it's completely reasonable for her to not make mistakes, and it's actually quite easy to not make tactical errors as her once you've mastered the art of basic blinking. Blink behind the survivor/to the place they broke LoS, then use your second blink to hit them. Not as difficult as people pretend, and there really is nothing the survivor can do, not unless the Nurse misses her blink. Make her overcharge? She just blinks short. Break LoS? Not when she's that close. Spin? Yeah, go ahead.

Call me "just wrong" all you want, that doesn't change facts. Every little bit of "counterplay" relies on the Nurse not being good, which means it isn't actually counterplay. And I don't care about bad Nurses, I really don't. We don't use any other high-skill killers' bad players, why would we ever use Nurses?

  • At peak times, killer wait times are instant because there's far less killers (for many reasons). Survivor takes longer because there's, as stated, far less killers, so you have to wait for a killer to become available. And the actual 1-minute countdown is to give everyone time to prepare - survivors decide what to bring based on their teammates, killers decide what to bring based on the survivors.

  • Akkadian, I believe - which is technically a collective term for Babylonian and Sumerian, if I remember right.

Edit: Nope, it's the collective term for Babylonian and Assyrian. Halfway there.

  • I'd love to see John Constantine as a paragraph. The Entities realm is definitely somewhere that character would feel right at home. Constant punishment for his sins? A whole bunch of people to use and betray? A lovecraftian entity puppeting a group of sadistic, supernatural killers?

Skillful players imply that they're good at the game, and if you're good at the game you won't get in a chase with these killers. Never said it requires skill, and I never said it was particularly fun or what should happen I just said this is how a good player will counter a nurse or Deathslinger. How hard is this to understand?

You cannot call someone "skillful" if they don't show it, and against a Nurse there really is no way to show it. Everyone is forced into using the most basic, easy, simple tactic in the game: ignore everything and rush the gens.

Seriously, how is that hard to understand? There is no difference between a good player and a bad one, because its all boring tactics and no actual skill.

Never mind. I’m giving up already. I feel like I’m just severely handicapping myself by even trying to use Wraith.

If you really want a treat, use All-Seeing (Purple or Pink, it doesn't matter, they're both ridiculously strong) and Windstorm - Blood. I don't play much Wraith, but those are just so fun. You zip around the map and know exactly what's going on around you - what more could one ask for?

  • First off, Wraith with no add-ons is arguably the worst killer in the game for good reason, so if you don't have any add-ons then that might be your problem right there. Second, there is no reason to play Wraith over Ghostface, except that wraiths add-ons change how he plays, or just personal preference.

And third... It's Wraith. There's not much to expect. Like Trapper and Myers, his kit makes him waste too much time and doesn't refund it with a proper snowball unless some extreme conditions are met. The best advice is probably to play hit-and-run. It's weak and basically relies on noobstomping, but it's better than noobs stomping you. Also, hide til the first note of the bell rings before popping out of cover, his legs are glowy stockings for the first part of his uncloak and it really does give him away.

  • What about the killer? They clearly played well, why should they not get their kills? If you want to talk about hope, what hope does the killer have? Counterplay? There isn't any, not really. That's like saying "do bones." The only counter that doesn't benefit the survivors more than if the key hadn't been in play in the first place is to dodge the lobby or bring an Ebony Mori.

  • Reset bug. It doesn't matter, rank doesn't mean anything but playtime.

I'm not the one that tried to take overt hyperbolic sarcasm seriously.

Where exactly did I say it took skill? It doesn't, but a player who was good at the game would know their skill doesn't mean much against a Nurse, Deathslinger, Spirit and would therefore not get in a chase and slam gens. I'm all for these killers becoming more skill based to play against but the truth is that's never gonna happen so the way you counter these killers is hardcore stealth and gen rushing, and try and have fun chases with the other killers when you run across them. So don't put words into my mouth I complain about these killers more than anyone on this forum.

I'm not putting words in you mouth, you literally said that that's what skillful players do. Your words, your mouth, strawmanning yourself.

  • There's maybe 1 genuinely killer sided map in the entire game, and that's Azarovs. Ever single other "killer sided" map, from Dead Dawg to Hawkins, is actually just a stealth map that becomes killer-sided when all 4 survivors have neon clothing or just the worst luck with choosing the walls to hide behind. And neither The Game or Midwich are killer sided. The Game is just 16 safe pallets in a row and absoluty no windows (which make it miserable for survivors because the entire gameplay is just throwing pallets), and Midwich is actually kind of balanced in the sense it favours no-one.

So no, I don't get the one killer sided map very often, or even killer-sided variations of maps like Shelter Woods. Mostly, it's actually pretty balanced for me. Or I get Haddonfield/Ormond as survivor and kind of just feel bad the whole time.

  • To be fair, the PH's played badly and even admitted it. They kept going for trick shots and flashy nonsense instead of guaranteed hits.

Plus, the survivors had some serious perk bans. Only 2 of each? Remove that and even Nurse cannot win. Technically, Nurse cannot win without them in the trial in the first place, but that requires a favourable map for the survivors.

  • Unfortunately, the phase sounds don't quite line up with her TR, so it's genuinely unlear to me as to whether or not that could even work. In theory, removing her TR is supposed to make her sounds appear everywhere, but I've gone up against Spirits with Undetectable and/or Oblivious perks, and it's... Chaotic and wierd and really hard to explain. Sometimes you don't hear the whoosh when you're right next to her, sometimes you do, and I don't know how to predict. I assume the same wierd logic applies to Distressing.

  • Descend Beyond. No other killer can claim to have been teased for literally years.

A high skill survivor would know not to get in a chase with a nurse and to slam gens.

And where exactly is the skill in that? Please, do explain the hours and hours of blood, sweat and tears that went into said good old-fashioned genrush.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

The thing is colours are required to play that game. There are minigames that litterally are connect the colored dots.

DbD not so much. You can play the game perfectly fine colorblind. The biggest issue is small aura's like survivors in the distance or aura's of hex totems but that isn't required to play the game.

So while it would be nice to have a colorblind feature it really doesn't hamper gameplay as much as other games like league and among us that did get one.

accessibility is important but when the game already is accessible it's not that high of a priority.

Tell that to the people that literally cannot see scratchmarks, auras or blood.

  • I would love to have the option to play 1st person survivor. That sounds amazing. Sure, it'd be a huge self-nerf, but I'd still absolutely do it.

And they do have the same chance

Nurse still does have counter play

Not a good Nurse. That's the problem: every bit of counteray anyone ever comes up with relies on the Nurse not being good, then they slap on the excuse of "yeah, but how often do you see good nurses?"

  • He got vilified pretty early on and it's never gone away regardless of his actions.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    2 reasons.

    1. the damned if you do, damned if you don’t scenario. Right now at pretty much most vaults, PH is guaranteed a free hit no matter what the survivor does. If they vault, they’re hit with PoTD. If they instead fake that they’re vaulting by doing a last second dodge, PH can immediately cancel RoJ and immediately do a regular hit to the survivor instead.
    2. The same thing that survivors do not like about Nurse: obstructions don’t matter, and can’t protect them.

There is also 3: He hard-counters hook perks and can absolutely tunnel survivors with no punishment just by getting everyone tormented a single time.

Although that's a playstyle issue and not a killer issue and doesn't really apply in this case.
