Don't forget myers would also have judith's tombstone, so on top of being a 105, he would also be 9% slower, 96% speed killer all day, if you don't get builds outside of the addons he's the weakest by far
The slowdown only applies while in T3
-
That's better than the pallet that leaned on air that I saw spawn during 2v8. The only safety THAT provided was the momentary ######### reaction the killer would have. Them staring at it might give you time to leave.

True, but you mentioned the original Freddy. Before his first nerfs, he had a 16 metres TR at base.
Its enough to catch survivors unaware.
I didn't play him when he FIRST released, so I only remembered the 24 meter version. You're right... slap monitor on the 16 meter version and call it a day. With the machine gun combo+ rapid, you'd be ending chases SUPER fast against anyone who doesn't wake up ASAP.

Why Unforeseen though?
OG Freddy got aura reading on survivors outside his TR. I use to run monitor on him because of this. Unforeseen though COMPLETELY hides the TR. You'd be constantly catching survivors...

I think that is a good answer, my friend. OG Sadako was very fun, it would be nice to see her in a better DBD.

That bug cost me an original Class Photo add-on years ago. Those were valuable ya know?
In all seriousness though, the dedicated servers were an improvement.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3852311#Comment_3852311
He would be a good fit.
People never appreciated the Dream World slowdown and the aura reveal when he was around, but I think they would now. Self-Care is no longer a factor, and even chases would be easier now that many maps have been nerfed to oblivion.
But you know a meta that would have been perfect for him? Circle of Healing.
The Dream World slowdown would cut CoH's healing bonus in half, and with the aura reveal all you would have to do is pay attention to where survivors were going. They would lead you straight to their totem.
Adrenaline also no longer counters him. Imagine OG Freddy with the green beam range addon+class photo. Combo that with current base speed hit cooldown, original STBFL+Unrenting, rapid brutality and maybe unforeseen.
-
Weakest would be a probably Hag since she'd lose the ability to teleport. Myers would basically be reduced to the scratched mirror/boyfriends letter combo ppl usually use for scratched mirror builds.
On the other hand, killers who DONT have nerf addons or addons that are counterproductive with other addons would do really well. Spirit for example would be QUITE strong.
-
Actually, I also wanna see OG Freddy with TODAY'S meta. Curious how that would work out. I remember alot of ppl using selfcare to wakeup mid chase before. No one really uses selfcare anymore though...
-
I'm curious how busted the current default bloodwipe would be when paired with old STBFL+Unrelenting. Maybe add in rapid brutality.
-
The BEST case scenario for equipping this is that it would get found after survivors have made significant gen progress (WITHOUT completing the gen) and you win a 50/50. This would be the first hex to have the possibility to be detrimental to use instead of just useless at worst. You're better off just bringing a normal gen slowdown perk.

the sad truth is that making sac wards brown barelly made a noticeable difference . I still go multiple bloodweebs without ever seeing one .
Really? I noticed while lvling up houndmaster that I was building up a VERY nice supply of them. Often times there would be multiple per bloodweb. Are you perhaps spamming the auto fill button and those offerings just getting skipped?
-
EXACTLY!!! Can you imagine having scooby bite down and say "Rut roh".
-
I feel like she'll be fine once she gets her bugs worked out. Atm, the bugs kinda overshadow everything. Maybe after those are handled and she gets some QoL tweeks, if she's STILL considered too weak we can look at buffing her.
-
Hear me out... What if we get a Scooby and Shaggy skin for houndmaster, complete with voicelines.
-
Buff it to 20%...
-
My only really complaint about it is the hitbox size. If 2 survivors are in lockers and I pull one out, I shouldn't be stunned by the locker next to it.
-
I might have been doing a similar hex build with Doc using The Game map offerings...

Most of my friends are doing the same.
I know hexes need to be made whole again, but burnout happens much faster now. Regression builds, imo, had more variation in builds as 2 perk slots were all that's dedicated. Now, its always TotH, Devour, H:FtD, and with variance in mind, the 4th slot is usually some other random hex perk.
I also want to admit this is purely solo'q perspective since its 90% of my game time now. TotH is merely over tuned imo. But sending back to vanilla 10% doesn't feel right either. But unless we can cleanse without needing Calm Spirit, Solo'q might as well not exist as its simply makes the queue not worth the time. You don't want to cleanse with calm spirit, lol

No, not comparing just saying that players or society as a whole are to comfortable insulting or destroying someone's fun without feedback persay. Do you really think someone would tell someone to unalive themselves face to face. Or if they are playing a game together just quit because it didn't go their way? More than likely not.
Although most DBD throw tantrums more than Veruca Salt.
While I agree that keyboard warriors get plenty cocky, following it up with how getting beat in Mario kart was enough to start a fight is just odd. Beating someone is not the same "destroying someone's fun".

So my cousins would all play. They used to gang up on the little one, who had anger issues and throw their shells at him. This was before when you could fall off the edge. He got mad threw the controller and hurled himself on top of one them throwing punches. He was 6. I laughed but after I broke it up. When he used to get mad he called you a fartchatcher, really mad you were a pe'erhead. I swept the leg of the chair of a guy who was screen watching me during halo lol.
So... we're literally comparing a temper tantrum from a small child to DBD players and claiming they are lucky they arnt in striking range. Am I understanding this correctly?

You can’t prove intent so survivors can still be downed and hooked by killers and move on to their next match. :) Now patch that out.
I feel like running to the killer and pointing to a hook is about as easy to prove intent as a killer bodyblocking a survivor. Sure, MAYBE their controller died right before they were gonna down them... but thats probably not going to be considered an actual possibility.
-
With buffs like this, I MIGHT actually get a kill when I play Nurse, lol.

Video Games in general, reading, music, and movies are all forms of escape from reality. I think the lines blur though with online games because we as a human race have become much more comfortable with saying and doing things behind a screen without consequences. People can't see how actions effect others nor do they care. The technology age is great but it came at a cost of empathy. Also not only online games just online behavior in general. I come from a generation where of you wanted to play with someone they were next to you and if screen watched your chair was getting it's leg swept out. I have broken up physical fights over Mario kart. I think that's why I have such a divide with today's gamers they have been left unchecked with no sportsmanship and no repercussions of their actions.
Please explain what someone playing Mario kart could've possibly done to warrant physical violence? Was using a blue shell considered being mean?

Mhm, except when I casually play a killer wondering around looking for survivors and going through some random pallet, when suddenly some terrorist popping out of nowhere and dropping this pallet on my fat-head, jump-scaring the living crap out of me, making me spill my coffee all over my desk, makes me paranoid of every single pallet on the map.
@CountOfTheFog - This guy is a menace to killer side!
Seeing a reaction video from the killers POV with all that would be worth posting for the giggles. You don't get that from this survivor POV clip...
-
People really clip ANYTHING. If I camped a pallet to stun a killer that wasn't even going after me, then got down immediately after, the last thing I'd want to do is clip it to show to people.
-
@Linkdouken said:
She certainly isn't the best killer and there are absolutely issues with the AI and general workings of the power that need to be ironed out but this post is a little ridiculous.
Also she is very new, so it'll take a bit of time to see true potential
I feel like alot of people are in the same boat I am of dropping the killer until some bug fixes happen. I was actually excited about trying her, but trying to use a power that often times actively hinders you is enough for me to have put her on the back burner after the 2nd day. We can figure out her "true potential" after the bugs get ironed out. I'm not touching her again until then.

You mean, in addition to being able to already avoid lobbies with flashlights, toolboxes, or nea?
Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should put in a system like this at all. But at the same time, why is it suddenly an instant "give me a compensation buff" literally any time someone recommends any change at all. That's the definition of entitlement.
I dont think it's a "give me a compensation", but rather t"Do you see how stupid this sounds?"

Which I think highlights how truly asinine this all is. You could guess correctly and bring a counterpick to reduce the first totem cleanse to 39 seconds(!). And it's still RNG as to whether you have an additional cleanse debuff after that. This is not a mechanic you put in a PVP game.
Totems in general are RNG. The totems COULD be well hidden or could be right next to a gen. You MIGHT find ruin right away, or it might be haunted ground. If we're talking totem RNG in general, I don't really know what you could change about it.
-
@scoser said:
I've become a fan of that as well. The only thing I've run into is that it requires a good start, otherwise you're down to 2 gens right as you get your first hook, then things just get worse from there.
It basically just took the spot of agitation in alot of people's scourge hook builds. This isn't even mentioning the info part.

What "Counterforce"?
Take a piece of paper and please share with us your calculations: how long would it take to cleanse 1,2,3 and 4 totems, because I'm sure you don't even know what are you talking about, thx
Just throwing this out there... it really depends on which of the totems cleansed is TOTH. You COULD cleanse it first. If you don't find it until you've already cleansed 3, there's no reason to waste time cleansing the 4th totem now.
-
She's got some bugs to work out... You can still play her if ya want, but personally I'm going to wait til they iron out the bugs before messing with her again.

I can understand that, i feel like his indoor map game will be severely hindered now.
But even on maps that have LOS blockers and is out doors like mother's dwelling or some autohaven maps where there's plenty to hide behind provided you weren't spotted heading that direction in the first place
I tried him out with the new lunge perk, just to get Greenville square. LOS blockers on the entire map, and the only drop off/high ground was facing a wall... Really felt screwed over, lol.
-
@JumpscareMyers said:
As a Myers main i've had Zero problems with the new Shape changes.
I get a Tombstone at 5 gens now which was a lot harder to do with his old basekit.
Now i can hide super far away and stalk someone with lethal pursuer.
It's fine on maps that allow for it, but alot of maps have too many LOS blockers that even if survivors have no clue where you are... it's hard to stalk from far away.
-
I noticed that too. I would have games where I actually did decent with a 3-4k, and I'd still have survivors who died who got more BPs...

This really confused me even after reading the update notes. Like I was running discordance jsut to give me a bit more oomph with the dog search thing and the orange gens confused me with the yellow gens, which apparently means they're completed? So it was a complete confusing mess for me to see the orange gens
Yeah, they really have an aversion to using more colors. During some events, they show "event gens" as orange...which screws with people using discordance or surveillance.
-
@NotVerySuss said:
she needs a lot of work. She is still buggy. The dog will sometimes now follow the path and even not move at all sometimes. Also he is very inconsistent when dragging a survivor. Sometimes it feels like he is pushing them to the pallets rather than pushing them to me. And his hit-box is extremely small
I'm noting the bugs too... I had so many times where a guaranteed catch didnt happen because the dog just wasn't there...
-
I'm guessing the new map files are in the game, just currently not accessible.

A less interactive but probably weaker Deathslinger. Meh.
My main concern is All-Shaking Thunder. I don't feel it's a well designed perk whatsoever. I don't think lunge distance is something we should be giving away for little effort.
I like how she doesn't suffer from deathslinger's mobility issues. You can use search to zoom across the map.
-
It's already on. Try restarting your console?

I didn't even notice until this thread. Considering it don't REALLY need BPs anymore since all but the newest killer is at least P3... I'm probably gonna be using these every game now.

Which is sad. 40% was obviously too much, but why SHOULDN'T killers have addons that people can make builds around? If anything every addon should be strong enough to justify creating a build around and would create more unique strategies for each killer. Instead every kill always takes the "strongest" 2 addons every game and the same 6-8 perks and every game is the same.
Because if addons lead to strong synergies, you can expect a nerf. It's the same reason Demo's addon lifeguard whistle is getting changed. They gutted Freddy's addons because people stacked them with other slowdown perks. They also completely reworked tinkerer because trying to balance things was impossible with it affecting addons. They want addons to be a small boost, not a complete game changer.
-
Everyone knew it was gonna get nerfed before it hit live servers, the only question was by how much. I still think she's gonna see some usage, it's just this addon isn't going to have people make builds around it.

Chaos Shuffle was well liked all around, that didn’t mess with queues at all, or nearly at all. You think that 2v8 is popular, but it requires more people. If it isn’t bringing in enough new/returning people, then is it popular? Or is it a novelty that’s splitting up the queues to a damaging degree? Look at the steam charts. If 2v8 were so popular, wouldn’t there be a noticeable bump in player numbers?
Popularity of a gamemode doesn't mean pulling in new players. It's pulling enough players that would normally be playing 1v4 to be noticeably effecting the queues. The fact it requires double the people per lobby has no standing in this since it's just effecting the number of lobbies in the gamemode rather than the number of people playing the gamemode.
I'm pretty interested in seeing the numbers personally. We COULD have a case where more people are trying to play 2v8 than the normal mode. I kinda wish they would show how many ppl are in each queue for each gamemode/role.
-
@SAWII said:

or that it requires twice as many people to play…
If the event wasn't popular, it wouldn't be pulling players from the normal mode. You didn't see any huge queue changes in normal mode when Lights Out was in play.

But it could provide a very menial boost but at the same time it can also be helpful like a boon that gives us the ability gain small amounts of item charges back like 20 percent charges and then you have to run out again before you can refill those charges. After like 2 times you'll gradually get less back until you only get 10 percent back
I dont approve perk ideas. I'm just letting you know, BHVR already said they arnt planning on doing any more general perks. They've been asked about it in a Q&A.

This would be great if the events didn't make the queues way longer for some of us who want to play normal. This is a big part of why so many people were dreading the return of 2v8.
That just means the other queue was REALLY popular
-
I feel like that's why they started doing separate queues. People who want a break from events can just queue up for the normal mode while the event queue is there for everyone else.

I might give it a try. It would have to be with a PWYF build which I already use on Myers a lot anyway. Moving around undetectable at 120%-125% speed sounds like it could actually be somewhat viable lol. Maybe throw a couple exposed perks on the build as well.
Just gotta remember you still have no lunge.
