You can almost say that bill was...left behind
-
@RoKrueger Your ridiculousness is at least something I can laugh at on here. Other ppl just give me a headache.
-
@MassiveToggaf A simple balance change could be to alter the blindness status effect in both addons and perks to debuff the survivor in a different way. Current, this effect is made completely pointless if you can simply talk to teammates. Being sluged with knockout is pointless if you can vocaly say "Im slugged by the killer shack". Reworking these perks and addons could be 1 way of balancing.
-
@RoKrueger I laughed while reading this
Theyre gonna implement IMPOSSIBLE challenges for killers, like DONT hit a survivor whos already on the hook 57 times.
DONT teabag a downed survivor for 4 minutes strait until he bleeds out
How are we expected to EVER complete these challenges?
-
Before anyone else talks about nerfs, can someone download the update, test it out and come back here to report the results. Some of us are at work or just have slow internet...
-
Id say its good. Its only cosmetic items, so it wont unbalance the game in anyones favor by throwing extra ultrarares at someone who can swipe a credit card or something. Also, the more ways the Devs can make money off stuff like cosmetics, the better chances we get of getting free DLCs, like Huntress, nurse and bill.
-
@Saitamfed With regards to your comment about how small game is already an anti-totem perk, why would it be a bad thing to offer variety there. We already have many perks that slow the game down for example. While both ruin and PGTW ultimate achieve the same thing, of making the game longer, we arnt saying that a player should only have the option of using 1 perk to do this. I dont think this perk would make small games obsolete, however I DO think it should activate for ALL totems, and not just the currently active ones.
-
Im gonna laugh when you guys try testing this to realize the ambush still affects STBFL and NOED and that this thread is just being overdramatic. They could just be doing this in preparation of upcoming perks, similar to how old mettle of man only gained tokens based off basic attacks.
-
Where did you read this?
-
@NMCKE I figured as much, but also figured it should be noted. When we have ppl comparing a countries economic stability to totems... I figured its best to mention these things before someone else runs with the idea.
-
@TAG in before claims of nurse and billy being OP
-
@NMCKE Devils advocate, but the killer doesnt HAVE to see the survivor cleansing the haunted grounds DIRECTLY. If I see someone cleansing it with a BBQ aura, I can get a good idea of when its gonna get activated and also KNOW its not my ruin getting broken right now.
-
The economy thing was just kinda confusing and REALLY sounds like someone is getting off topic.

keep in mind these survivors want and will be getting push to talk voice comms in game, but a killer knowing which totem is which is simply "too much info."
clear bias apparent to anyone with eyes
@DrDeepwound Try to keep the survivor vs killer thing out of this. That only acts to tear down discussion and derail threads.
-
@thesuicidefox Why should Haunted Grounds be a gamble on the part of the killer? I Can understand it being a gamble to equip it and possibly not get benifit out of the 1 minute, but why should it be a gamble in not knowing where my totems are? You could make this same argument about not letting killers know where their hex totems are AT ALL or not telling them which totems are ACTUALLY just dull totems.
If plunderer's had that ability, i wouldn't mind at all.
-
Them offering a cosmetic that is expensive is better than them not offering the cosmetic at all. Just because im not going to buy something, I dont think the option shouldn't be there for other ppl.
-
@NMCKE Nice red icon btw
-
@NMCKE Discounts for buying bulk in auric cells already happens. You get more cells per dollar than someone who only spent $10.
-
@thesuicidefox Im actually going to disagree with you on this.
Tier lists are COMPLETELY about personal opinion/experience. Thats why theres so many of them and they vary from person to person. If there was 1proven right answer to a tier list, there would only be 1 list.
Whether or not you think this tier list is any good is up to you. Its DEFINITELY his opinion, just like every other list, and theres nothing wrong with that. All tier lists do is share your personal opinions with other people, typically backed up by how effect youve seen specific things with that killer/perk/whatever do.
-
@Casm I think if your going to be doing something like this, it should be affecting both dull and hex totems. This way, your given at least afew "false positives" if your searching for ruin or something. This perk actually sounds pretty similar to whispers, but for totems. I think it would be VERY useful in locating them quickly since totems tend to spawn on certain spots on tiles. This would stop you from wasting time searching on tiles that dont have totems and letting you narrow it down to tiles that DO have a totem on it.
Also, ppl are bringing up small game. I see this perk to be more useful than small game for the sake of finding totems, while small game would be useful for locating traps.
-
@NMCKE Not tryin to be lazy, but I think the idea in this video offer some pretty fair ideas.

@PrincessPoop Im not saying im AGAINST a totem counter, just stating that there currently IS incentive. Even your fear of getting hit by NOED is an incentive to cleanse a totem if you see it. On any given match, its pretty common for EVERY totem to have someone run past it at least once. Adding a counter doesnt INCENTIVIZE breaking the totems that survivors are already choosing NOT to break when they walk right past them. It only takes away the fear of the unknown if your not sure if the killer has NOED still before he hits someone cuz you can see the totem counter says 0.
-
@Bbbrian2013 Exactly... I think itll be funny though seeing ppls reactions to NOT playing against Freddy. When I played Clown on this last PTB to test him out on the new pallet locations on Badhem...I got alot of ppl wondering why I didnt pick Freddy.
-
Its nice to be able to chat with ppl on here while waiting for a queue.
-
Im kinda dreading the mass amounts of Freddys EVERY GAME after this update.
-
@RoKrueger I usually am against pretty much EVERYTHING you say on these forums but...well said. The mindgames during dream transition was fun, and now the ppl who didnt realize how crap his block addons were BEFORE realize how crap they are NOW. Also nice to see another OG Freddy main. Ive been checking profiles lately to see how many ppl with Freddy icons changed to it THIS MONTH...Its alot...
-
@NMCKE That would work. It would also be nice if it was more clear if these totems were broken or not. Devour hope's icon for example turns on and off depending on distance from a hook...but...of course is ALSO off when the totem is broken.
-
@Aven_Fallen It can be nice to know which totem is haunted ground and which is ruin or something if using both. If someone is working on my totem, I would guard the ruin better while "accidently" being JUST too late at hitting them before haunted ground breaks.
Another example would be like if your using Thrill to protect a 2nd totem perk. If Thrill breaks before ruin...bummer. If ruin breaks before Thrill, Thrill becomes absolutely pointless
-
Im of the mindset that they should charge whatever they want to charge for cosmetic items, EXPECIALLY if that means having more free/cheap DLCs. While Having the cool drill weapon would be nice, and im abit bummed I cant use my shards to get it... Im also not raging. They offer plenty of cosmetics I CAN get with shards if I want (currently sitting on about 22000) as well as free ones from events (My huntress and Doc are both currently rocking VERY stylish event cosmetics). These 2 things, Free event cosmetics and Cosmetics available with shards...are a BONUS and NOT something I ever EXPECT out of a company. As someone who played aton of warframe and got very use to how expensive THEYRE cosmetics could be with their premium currency...Im completely ok with how the DBD devs handle their shop.
-
Would make sense so you dont spend TOO much time defending a haunted grounds totem. I feel like color coding alot of things should be implimented. White gens from thrilling tremors and white gens from Freddy's teleport is kinda confusing.
-
It can be handy in making killers misjudge how far they can carry you. Think about how many walks to the basement were screwed over by old non obsession DS while the killer COULDVE hooked ya on a closer hook. This is KINDA like that, except since it requires you to be slugged for awhile first... It can be pretty inconsistent.
-
@thedevalex in what way?
-
I really enjoyed his ability to juggle survivors. In normal chases, he sucked... but if you took on a hit and run approach like a scratch mirror myers, it made things a whole lot more interesting. His class photo addon when used with nancy's masterpiece was my fav combo, and I actually burned through like 5 bloodwebs looking for a class photo to use the other day to blow some black wards on.
Freddy was the first killer I hit rank 1 with and I kinda take pride in having his profile picture before this rework, when it turned into the cool thing to have all of a sudden.
-
@Rydog Im all for killers being able to have a higher skill ceiling to do more. Huntress and Billy come to mind as great exanples of when this is done and still feels fair. They both provide clear cues when theyre using their powers, which allows the survivor the ability to counterplay them. Neither of them also requires a particular perk to counterplay. If I get hit with a Huntress hatchet, its because my positioning was off. The character has a high skill ceiling in when you should pull out the hatchet as well as of course...aim.
There was a reason why the original Legion was so unpopular to play against. Even though the character didnt have the highest of kill counts, the person he was chasing didnt really have much say in how the chase went. At best, you would just stun him repeatedly with pallets to avoid death by a thousand stabs and hope he didnt have spirit fury. To compare and contrast him to Billy...While he has increased movement speed while using his power like Billy, the total control of his movement made it so activating his power at ANY time really had no downside. The character wasnt particularly powerful, but the survivors IN the chases actually could feel like participants rather than timers and targets when against a Billy as opposed to Legion.
The reason I bring up Legion is because Spirit shares something with him: Increased movement speed and total control. While Legion can no longer use it to get the down, making it abit more interactive during the 2nd half of the chase at least, Spirit doesnt have that restraint. She still gets to mad dash at you and down ya in the next hit. While it may feel skillful to get those hits in, it feels completely random and uninteractive on the receiving end. Unlike a Huntress' hatchet where you can duck behind a tree when you hear the audio cue of her taking out the hatchet, theres not that kind of counterplay to Spirit.
Someone brought up how sounds are kinda rough in some maps, but that has nothing to do with the player playing survivor. An echo throwing you off isnt me being skillful about avoiding your hits. Other ppl argue to just bring iron will, but realistically... It shouldnt REQUIRE a perk to counter any killer. Doc for example gets soft countered by Calm spirit, but running it isnt REQUIRED and the ppl NOT using it still have a good chance of winning their chases against Doc (Side note, I am completely in favor of buffing Doc to make his basekit beam more usable for skillful chases).
Anyways, thats pretty much my rant in a nutshell. If you do reply, make sure to use the @ function instead of just quoting me.
-
@PeepingPeacock What are you talking about? I have entire conversations with my team all the time using the crouch button. We'll be at the exit gates talking to each other by t bagging about how well the game went, until the killer chases us off...rude...
-
@PrincessPoop Isnt the fact that cleansing totems benifits a survivors lightbringer emblem ALREADY an incentive to cleanse totems? Ppl use to say that ranking up was difficult due to the limited amount of gens to do. That survivor teams were competing with each other for those emblem points.
-
The biggest gripe I have is "the mindgames" at pallets. I put this in quotes because the Spirit player isnt losing anything by just standing there watching. Its up to the survivor to simply GUESS at which point the killer stopped standing still. Thats not a mind game, thats a guessing game.
Beyond that, lemme ask what you think @NuclearBurrito. If a Wraith could simply run up to a survivor while cloaked, thereby having the extra speed with the cloak, and hit them without ringing the bell first... would this be fair? Thats pretty much what happens with Spirit, except theres no shimmer.
-
Any downsides to the in-game voicechat would simply make ppl not use it when they could use discord instead. Why would I use a chat that the killer can hear, or that only nearby teammates can hear, when I could just use discord. Even if your not a SWF, can simply post a discord link in the lobby before the game starts.
The only benefit an in-game chat would provide over discord is convenience.
-
I see plenty of survivors trying to be sneaky and crouching behind a box or something when BBQ reveals their aura. Typically, if i know their just hiding behind a bush when Im 41 meters away...Theyre probably still gonna be standing still behind the same bush until im ontop of them.
-
@Rydog I could agree to that, except I wish each killer was ranked separately. Learning a new killer is kinda daunting when your going against the survivors who are already challenging for your "tried and true" killers youve already mastered. The whole rank system is the same reason I dont think console users would be bullied if they ever introduced cross play.
-
@Hexyl I definitely see that as a problem, just not a problem having anything to do with coms. Thats a deranking problem.
-
@Hexyl Yes, ANY rank system is banking off ppl not deranking. Ppl deranking can bully their opponites, coms or not.
-
@Hexyl I have abit of a theory... I play way more killer than survivor, so my survivor rank atm is rank 9. I only play solo, so my rank 9 is off MY merits alone, how well I avoid the killer, and get ######### done rather than teamplay. The game sees fit to place me with other rank 9s against a rank 9 killer. If my skill were to remain the same but all of my survivor team were to join a chat and properly apply teamwork... we would no longer be playing at a "rank 9" lvl. The rank 9 killer would then feel bullied.
My idea is that assuming my skill as a player were to stay the same, and voicecoms were to be implimented, in 1 month...by the time rank reset has come and gone and everyone has been able to reach their appropriate rank...I would NOT be rank 9. I would NOT be facing rank 9 killers and bullying them but rather would maybe be rank 5 going against players who are better able to handle it.
-
@Hexyl Im not asking "trick questions". Theres no ulterior motive here. I cannot possibly have any conversation with you if you insist that everything I ask you is some kind of trick. If they implimented this tomorrow, do you think your games 1 month from now would be more difficult than your games today?
-
@Hexyl Just trying to break it down REAL simple. Do you think the ppl you play against being on coms makes the game more difficult for you?
-
@Rydog I dont think there really would need to be that many changes to killers besides to stop pretending like the blindness effect or perks similar actually do anything. If survivors end up becoming strong enough to effectively "bully" a killer player, those teams would just end up becoming a different rank and not play against that player.
-
@Hexyl Im trying to have a conversation with you, try not to attack me. You keep trying to rant about something Im not even asking about.
-
@Hexyl So...your saying your gameplay as a killer WONT be harder?
-
@Hexyl So, just to be clear...Your saying the problem isnt due to a difference in difficulty?
-
@Hexyl Im actually gonna disagree with you, but here me out. If because of voice coms, survivor teams are able to completely stomp you... Wouldnt those teams simply go to a higher rank than you and not face you? Currently, we have instances of 4 solos who are individually REALLY good, therefore getting the rank theyre at...As well as SWF squads who are "boosted" by SWFs to get to the current rank theyre at. The SWF squad on an individual lvl might not be much, but are at that rank due to better teamwork rather than better loopers. If they implimented a built in system, youd just get more of the "boosted" squads facing you (notice the quotes on the word "boosted").
