  • I dont wanna link this person's twitch video, because I dont want ppl to witch hunt these guys. Unfortunately, I dont have the software or know how to edit it into a short clip and remove their names.

In this case there are counters for example. You just need to bodyblock the survivor injured, healing him into the basement (if you have time) , not getting hooked into the basement, or using borrowed time

Theres for sure counters. The survivors actually SAW that I placed a snare there. I told them if they were either healthy, allowing them to bodyblock a hit, or awake...so they didnt trigger the snare and alarm me of a save attempt in progress...They wouldve gotten out. Point being, they didnt put any thought into countering the trap, and just put their foot in it, then blame the killer for responding.

Then you spent 40+ seconds placing every trap near 1 hook. That's half the repair time of 1 generator, done solo without a toolkit.

That's 40 seconds 3 Survivors are doing gens while you scribble in the dirt.

But heaven forbid a Killer's power allow then to stop an unhooking, apparently. I had someone call me a camper recently for using my Hag power to protect a hooked Survivor, and they were too stupid to crouch or clear the trap. Repeatedly.

But it was MY FAULT they kept falling for it, according to them.

All right, folks! Pack it in! Killers are no longer allowed to use their power to secure Hooks! Just stop hooking Survivors! It's apparently OP to secure kills now!

Had a 4 man SWF recently accuse me of camping and tunneling when I put a Dream snare infront of the basement stairs and teleported back to it after an injured and asleep teammate tried rushing basement for a rescue. They DCed right after and I got to watch it from their twitch video, lol.

Ghost Face is a very underrated killer and is viable at rank 1. (from a rank 1 gamer) Thrilling Tremors is better than BBQ & Chilli, I'm All Ears is good on Nurse, but not on anyone else. And Furtive Chase? Ya, no, that perk just sucks. He's worth the money.

Theres actually an Otz video he put out specifically to showcase I'm all ears on Piggy, and afew he's done using Furtive chase on a handful of killers.

  • I have fun with all the killers, even low tier ones. Its actualy the high tier ones that I have no real interest in playing, lol. When you get a 4k in red ranks as a nurse, its kinda expected. When you do it as a Bubba... Besides that, BBQ is always nice if you didnt get it from the shrine already.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Because survivor perks end up being pretty broken or overpowered.

    For example:

    https://www.twitch.tv/pappusgaming/clip/AntsyIncredulousAlfalfaBibleThump

Secondly, survivor perks are not the only ones who have been consistently nerfed.

NOED, Unrelenting, Save the Best for Last, NOED again, Tinkerer, NOED yet again, Play with your Food, Noed yet again, Enduring, Thanatophobia, Remember Me...

Also, remember that killers have powers too, not just perks, which can also be nerfed. Case in point, Legion's power now has zero lethality to it and Pig's RBTs are laughably terrible now due to no longer working at end game, where they used to be strongest. There was also the crouching nerf (which was thankfully reverted) or the Huntress hitbox fiasco where they made her hatchets so useless that people were literally eating hatchets up their ass crack and they still weren't registering a hit.

Saw a post earlier saying we'll make it should be reverted to this...

  • Hopefully matchmaking wont screw them and new players will be playing WITH and AGAINST other new players. Had a game last night where I was pitted against 3 yellow ranks with only a rank 3 to try to carry. Im a rank 1...

  • Id go with Myers. His naturally smaller TR makes his form of stealth much more reliable than Ghostface's, who is constantly having to wait on a cooldown. The increased lunge of his T3 really comes in clutch, and the increased vaulting speed of T2 and T3 is nice.

I feel like some Killers and Perks are so underrated, and some extremely overrated.

The first example is Plague: She is so underrated: Once you vomit on all Survivors:

-If they don't cleanse, you'll have an insta-down for the rest of the match.

-If they cleanse, you'll become one of the most OP Powers in the game.

The second example is Pig: She is so underrated as well: Some players even think she is worst than Leatherface.

The point is, her dash ability can help mindgaming small loops pretty well, RBT's make Survivors waste a lot of time they could be doing Gens, and crouching, especially on smaller maps, can jump scare Survivors.

Myers and Hillbilly are the most overrated Perks IMO: Myers and Hillbilly can be looped normally, and Myers' power takes time to build up. If he doesn't get it quickly, he'll have a hard time late game as the Gens will pop.

    To Perks:

I feel like Monitor & Abuse is underrated as well: It can feature an excellent synergy with some killers, like Plague, Hag, Myers and Spirit.

Iron Will is both underrated and overrated IMO. It's underrated cuz some Players say it doesn't make any difference in- and outside of a chase. It's overrated cuz some Players say it saves your life all the time, like, in a chase.

    Do you also think so?

I have yet to get the PERKS "Myers" and "Hillbilly". What do they do?

Hahaha. Imagine convincing every survivor to offer BPS and you offer an Eboni mori instead. It would be wonderful <3

It would only work a couple of times though.

Something tells me youd convince them to do that and farm, only to tell them in the ENDGAME chat that you ment they could farm eachother off the hook and die.

Okay I understand it much better now but my god that timeout is atrociously long. I hope they make it at least 5 minutes long if they think 3 minutes isn't enough.

The whole point is to encourage you to stay into the game rather than quit to find another. If the amount of time you "waste" finishing a game that you got downed first in is bigger than the amount of time it takes to get into a new game... Ppl will jump into a new one.

  • @OGOzSnowChimp said:

And an other two... one of them ranked 5...

I had a 4 man SWF squad DC on me lastnight. Well...3 of them DCed, the fourth guy got super lucky when hatch spawned ontop of him.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/662192#Comment_662192

Wait, I'm a bit confused. So the dc penalty only applies to swf? This honestly doesn't sound good enough even if it applied to solo que. I still think my suggestion is better but we'll just have to wait and see.

I didnt say that, lol. It applies to the individual who DCes. If I have a 30 minute timeout on me, I have to wait 30 minutes before I join a match. If I get into a SWF group with that timer...they cant hit the find match button until the timer goes away, even if no one else has a timer.

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

I think this would be worth trying. Worst case scenario, it is toxic like the rest of the game. Beat case scenario, it allows for more relaxed and fun matches.

I know how "in character" some of our community gets. I can only imagine the chat BEFORE the killer kills you. Not saying any names or anything @RoKrueger

  • @Derp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/661818#Comment_661818

I'm not sure what the change is but I hope they make it so that anyone who disconnects has to wait 3 minutes before they're able to find a lobby again. If you're a swf that disconnects, then the 3 minute penalty only applies to the swf matchmaking and the penalty to solo que disconnects only applies to solo que matchmaking. This'll make it so that survivors don't quit the game as much after dcing since some of them aren't willing to wait the 3 minutes to find a game. The 3 minute penalty will work on killers that dc as well but they have the option to play survivor while the time penalty is active, same for survivors with killers.

They said that SWF groups will have to wait if any of their members have a timeout active. You cant DC abunch as a solo player, and then jump in SWF and expect a game right away. Your friends will have to wait the full amount of time of your timeout, or play without you. Also, im pretty sure the timeout will be more than 3 minutes, lol. Im guessing its likely to start at 15 minutes and go up at 15 minute intervals. This way, you can either DC 2 minutes into your 10 minute game, and have to wait 15 more minutes before joining another or...keep playing the 10 minute game that you had a bad start in. Often times, the reason for a DC at a first down is due to how easy is it for a redo or "mulligan"

  • Im surprised you didnt mention the roar with the ambush.

  • Starting Dead by daylight = BAN THEM ALL!!!

  • Maybe dont complain that something is weak until you try it.

  • While theres time I wanna be able to chat with my opposition so we can all agree to use BPS or something... I also see this as a possible problem in the form of working with the killer.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/662133#Comment_662133

I think they also intended to address the ongoing issue whereby a successful attack can injure or down a survivor, and she can pick up downed survivors and hook them.

These problems have gone on long enough!

We need to ban all the people exploiting these bugs. They obviously hacked that into the game.

  • @Darkskies said:

I guess we need to nurf pig again 🙄🐷

The next update will fix a bug in which Pig was able to kill survivors.

  • Dream pallets may be easy to use, but their also easy to counter. Sure, you can spam the ######### out of them, but it doesnt do anything unless a survivor actually falls for it. Use the time your awake to identify REAL pallets in your area and you'll be able to pretty easily figure out which ones are fake when you fall asleep. Dream pallets are also useless in fooling a survivor if Freddy is placing them infront of a survivor mid chase, so hes pretty much depending on the pallets he placed ahead of time. If you, as a good teammate, break any fake pallets that you notice while not in a chase... It'll help out your teammates who may have to lead a chase into your area.

  • Just tell them you werent facecamping them, just admiring their eyes...for 2 minutes.

Then what? We both got downed at the basement and i left the trial. That 1 IQ killer said you ruined other survivors' game. Lmao. That moron camped me all the game and the fault was mine? Not waiting for 3 seconds to die? Till Behaviour understand camping is not a strategy, is just a bullshit that ruins one or other survivors game, this game is done for me.

    Sorry about your huntress problems?

Because gen rushing is even something that exist? As a killer main, I've not really experienced this. When suriviors do gens quickly, its because im playing bad, or not really trying. Lets be honest, I'm on one in the first 10 seconds of every game, and I get to many BS hits I cant keep count of them. I think they should probably stop nerfing the other side, and let the game become balanced again. I remember when getting to rank 1 killer ment anything at all. Now I can almost AFK it.

Only spirit can afk and it still be considered a "mindgame"

The husks sound like a terrible idea. Really you want to spend God knows how long scouring the map looking for the last survivor whose only objective at that point is to hide. They can't escape and they're obviously not going to do a gen. The whole thing sounds tedious for both sides.

A better solution would be to make the hatch only spawn once there is one person left (or after the gates are powered if there is more than 1 survivor remaining, so the achievement isn't affected).

That way you can hook the third person and you have an equal chance of finding the hatch as the last survivor does.

Just give the killer the emblem points as if they had 3 hooked anyone who DCs, ez pz. No need for whole new mechanics.

Not allowing the hatch to spawn sooner would make it so you cant use a key.

Am I confusing calm spirit with iron will? I think I might be

Calm spirit makes survivors not scream, which is useful against Clown, Freddy and Doc, as well as a handful of perks like infectous fright. It also makes crows not get startled by you.

Iron will suppresses grunts of pain, so you wont make abunch of noise when your injured.

I mean to be honest if you have a guy in your clutches and you go back to the unhooked guy mid chase just to down him, that is Tunnelling.

I was chasing someone, but I went back to the hook to hit the sleeping rescuer who wouldve had to walk past me. I wasnt interested in the guy who was unhooked. The way I see it, if I kept chasing the one I was chasing, wouldve giving the others time to not only unhook, but also to heal up and everything. Even if I dont immediately down one of them, but interupting a heal...Thats pressure.

  • That game was a mess... Found out after the ranks were all over, from 14 to 2. Im about to hit 1 after this next game.

Not really required... but its a great counter against the 2 best killers in the game, nurse and spirit. And also works great against doctor and freddy.

Not required but, its really good.

hows it counter nurse and spirit?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/661171#Comment_661171

They should've been running calm spirit, it is so good these days!

I never like the idea of a perk being REQUIRED. Hindsight is 20 20, and while it may be good in SOME cases, you cant expect them to bring a different loadout to counter every killer's strengths.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Well, its fair. Fair in a sense that you are not doing anything illegal. It is their fault if they want to do a Basement Rescue injured. If they would be full health they would be able to manage to do it (at least it is more likely to get at least one person out).

And well, depending on the situation, it is the correct or "wrong" way. Correct when it is a close game, you will create a lot of pressure with this. "Wrong" when you basically already won (like when multiple people are on Death Hook already and many Gens need to be done), you can also let them get away to get more Hooks and more Chases to get more points for yourself.

But yeah, their fault, never go for Basement Safes injured. And if it is really difficult to get a Basement Safe and not worth it, maybe think about not doing it at all. Personally, I am at the point where I will not get people out of the Basement vs Hag, it is their fault to go down vs Hag near the Basement, and it can be gg if this happens and the other Survivors are feeding the Killer.

At least with Freddy, the freshly unhooked guy cant trigger traps. If the unhooker had been awake too, they wouldve gotten the unhook and been gone before I could teleport there... and Id have just continued my chase rather than TRY to teleport.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/661171#Comment_661171

Yeah that's just an all around bad play on their part. It's easier to be mad at you for "camping" than it is to acknowledge that it's their own fault.

I always assume the worst so to speak. I assume everyone fresh off a hook has BT and an active DS, and I play around that thought. This is turn makes me quite effective at applying pressure, while at the same time avoiding DSes (and coming across as a fair killer). So this...just irks me.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

"Proxy camping" or whatever you want to call it, on killers like Hag, Nurse, Billy and now Freddy isn't always fun to play against, but it's fair. So is hard camping, tunneling, etc. Everything that's not an exploit is fair game.

As far as being worried about being an ass, I think it's more about your intentions. If you are doing things specifically to upset other players, then you're being an ass. But if you're doing what you think is the most efficient way to win then I wouldn't worry about it. Of course some people are going to get upset but that's really not your problem.

I once got angry messages for running No Mither and leading the killer on a multi-gen chase and eventually escaping despite him hard camping me. He said, "You're not good just because you run No Mither." 🤷

I watched the streamers video. They acnologed there was no way into the basement without going through snares, but instead of healing up, which wouldve let them body block a hit that was BOUND to come if you scream, or wake up...so you dont scream...

My thing is, sure...I placed traps, but there was an answer they couldve used to counter it. I had fully expected them to counter it. I expected them to expend time doing at least ONE of those things, but instead they WILLING let out a scream while injured.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

Survivors just do stupid things sometimes, yesterday I was playing legion, I was using mad grit(because I had nothing better unlocked) and I downed another person half the time I was carrying another, because they always bodyblocked.

And I almost never left the basement because they were always around saving each other way too fast.

They eventually stoped but... that was a weird first half of a match. I wish ps4 had chat...I wanted to ask them what they were thinking

I actually DID chat with these guys for awhile. Between the map being The Game, and Freddys lullaby not giving you ANY clue on distance... The only one who knew that I went from halfway across the map to teleporting nearby was the one I was midchase with. I looked up the dimensions of that map. about 64 by 64, meaning my 32 meter Lullaby will be playing across aton of it.

  • @Thasard said:

Was the game that different a year ago? That's when I joined and I didn't seem to have these issues that I recall. But I just got my boyfriend started on PC (I have PS4 😣), and he's experiencing a lot of face camping killers, and a lot of 8 killers when he's an 18 and still figuring things out, not to mention a lot of poor sports who whine and bully him post game. That sucks that people resort to that especially when new players. Maybe hide names and shutdown after game chat until players reach 15 so they can't be nasty.

Matchmaking is a mess. I feel like alot of ACTUAL facecamping killers are doing it to meme out of boredom.

You will always be an "ass" on the enemy's eyes anyway.

    Your options then become:

    1- Not caring

    Or

2- Follow the guidelines written on this book

It just sucks seeing how salty they got. • @NoShinyPony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/661120#Comment_661120

Without doubt a hard situation if the survivor doesn't have a key. But a hard situation for the survivor doesn't mean that the killer is taking the game hostage.

Take a look at my former example: Let's assume a team of survivors had a very bad start. Only 2 survivors are still alive and still 4 gens left to be done. Also a hard situation for the survs, it's not reasonable to expect them to do 4 gens just between the two of them. So they hide. Is the killer who is looking for them taking the game hostage?

I think its a little different due to the killer having the option of disposing of the husk and not doing so. While it sucks to look through the map for immersed survivors, its at least possible. Doing the remaining gens without teammates is impossible. Thats why I was suggesting the husk go to dying state to bleedout. At least then the survivor has a chance.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/661104#Comment_661104

They should have suspected though. There’s a distinct whoosh as Freddy channels Dream Projection. The moment that snare was tripped, that survivor should have erred on the side of caution.

Wish I could show ya this play without it turning into a witchhunt. Theres a twitch video of their end with communication.

If they ragequitted before you had a chance to pick them up, they probably didn't have DS.

I WOULD post the video, because this was a twitch streamer's SWF group, so...that stuff gets saved, but... I dont wanna be witchhunting ppl and my GF actually knows this group. I called her into the room when I saw who I was facing, so she was actually stream sniping against me and telling them my position on twitch chat, lol.

    That question is wrong.

Fist of all: Congratulations on your masterful use of Snares. You make us all killers proud, Freddy Mains especially.

You don't have to care if anything you do as a killer is "fairy" play, that's survivor's propaganda in your head!

You do what you want to ensure that no pitiful survivor escapes the trial. Make sure to have fun doing it.

Just don't use hacks or cheats.

At the end, at the chat, rejoice with their lamentations and laugh at their demands of "furry" play.

Close the match and repeat untill satisfied ;-)

Meh, I prefer to steamroll a team WITHOUT being an ass. Unfortunately, I also fully expect ppl to make smart decisions against me.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/661116#Comment_661116

So who are you saying is taking the game hostage? The last survivor who hides somewhere on the map without trying to do a gen? Or the killer who is searching for the survivor?

Its not reasonable to expect a lone survivor to be able to DO a gen, which is why hatch exists to begin with. That last survivor, due to a forever standing husk, is 100% screwed.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

You played well and they played bad. If an injured survivor runs down the basement to unhook another player without BT and DS, then you can't just expect this to go well.

I didnt check if they actually HAD DS. was kinda just stunned at the stupidity for a sec, then 3 DCes. I didnt get to pick either of them up.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

When there are two survivors alive and both just hide and wait for the other person to die, this is kind of hostage-taking. The killer has no indication to find them if they refuse to work on a gen.

When a killer actively looks for a survivor, how is that taking the game hostage from the killer?

The husk aura should be revealed to the killer of course, so he can decide what to do with it. The killer having to look for the husk would be a pointless mechanic.

The hostage would be the other way around. The last survivor would have no way of looking for hatch, since theres technically a teammate. If the husk is still up, theres no bleedout to wait through, giving the killer infinite time to look for the last person.

  • @Fibijean said:

As a survivor main, I can assure you there was nothing scummy about that on your end, just unlucky for them. However, in fairness to the survivors, from their perspective, they didn't know that you teleported to a gen, all they knew was that they got out and there you were. So from their perspective, it probably seemed like you were camping. Not saying that justifies the namecalling, but it's easy to jump to conclusions when you're upset and you feel like something was unfair.

They were a SWF on coms. The guy I WAS chasing was plenty wittness to me not camping. I told them that If they had been awake, they wouldnt have triggered the trap and I wouldnt know the unhook was happening. They ALSO couldve done it while HEALTHY, and body blocked.

I dont like eating DSes, so I typically avoid tunneling ppl. I dont mind proccing someones BT though while at the same time putting them to sleep. They gotta mend now, theyre asleep, and I get a STBFL token...win win win. If someone DOESNT have BT, I'll happily leave em on the ground and chase the unhooker, always assuming EVERYONE has DS. These guys were...wow.
