No offence but all the survivor perks you named are easily countered unless you're bad at the game.

Both sides have strong perks and "many" perks require some experience for efficient usage.

Your right for the most part until endgame comes around. Watched a clip of Tru3's not too long ago where he had ppl getting super unsafe saves right infront of an open exit gate, and couldnt really do anything about it due to 2 DSes and a wonky hitbox that made him hit the person on the hook THROUGH the unhooker... He tried slugging a guy he suspected had DS, but eventually HAD to pick him up to avoid him crawling out the gate...and then of course got stabbed.

I typically am able to avoid having to eat DSes for the most part, since I typically assume EVERYONE has it and just leave ppl slugged if I know they just got off the hook. If someone dives into a locker right infront of me... Thats the only time Ill eat it. Eat it or not in that situation has the same result, except you dont get to keep your DS for later.

It's weird. At least on the PTB, all of my Killer games have been 4k's but all of my Survivor games have been 0k's

Alot of that is just cuz matchmaking is busted. Competent killers need 4 competent survivors to go against for the game to be even. If your a red rank killer, but the survivors rankings look like a rainbow... expect a 4k. The same could be said the other way around with a single red rank survivor carrying a team against a yellow or green rank killer.

Did you even bother to read any of the posts or just the tittle? lol

I barely started playing the game and I'm rank 8, and yeah, I do abuse some of the broken hard loops. I do agree, I could of escaped though the hatch a few times, but the majority of the time I try to be the hero. I will continue to do so as well because I'm not trying to get higher in rank anyways as my group of friends will just have to face more difficult killers. I don't even know why people bother posting when every response is met with a "GET-GUD KID" Thanks for being that guy.

Quick edit: Quotes from this guy: I just started camping them super hard. I rev my chainsaw by them near the hook and people for some odd reason don't get the message and try rescuing them in my face. Easy 4K, I should start just camping like an a-hole more often.

    Top tier gameplay

Thats typically how Angrypug's leatherface games go, lol. He does alot of insidious camping, and even if ppl SEE him, they still wanna go for the rescue. Might sound like a dumb idea, but fixing generators is boring. Theres no feeling of accomplishment from fixing 5 gens after not having any interaction with the killer at all, which is another reason why ppl get frusterated from insidious camping Bubbas. They just waited on a game to start, only to not actually get to play the game. Its either be the guy whos getting camped and stay put on a hook for 2 minutes...or be one of the ppl fixing gens and leaving...neither role is at all fun.

Sorry for my toxic rant. I just needed to let some anger out and I wouldn't want to risk doing it on xbox live. It far too easy to get a communication ban nowadays because apparently no one enjoys post game **** talk anymore. Keep in mind I came from the generation of toxic CoD MW lobbies back on 360 and a communication ban was unheard of back then lol.

We get alot of these, lol. Its pretty common to have ppl venting on the forums, and these guys have just gotten pretty tired of it, especially from new accounts that were obviously created JUST so the person could leave this particular post.

Youll notice different things do better or worse at different ranks. Some killers, like Doctor, are what i refer to as "noob stompers". New survivors have a really difficult time overcoming the most basic parts of the killer, resulting in alot of kills at the low ranks. Further on however, it becomes very apparent how much of a rough shape Doctor is in when facing survivors that ARNT new. While from experience, we know Doc is far from OP... New player rants would have us think otherwise, lol.

I am actually pretty decent at killer. Had 4 games where I killed everybody, many more games where I get 3 out of 4 of them, and generally in worst case scenarios I at least get 2 of them. Playing as survivor is a mess though.

Typically thats how it goes for new players. At the lower ranks, playing survivor is harder than killer. Knowing how to use different structures to keep out of reach of the killer comes with experience, while being able to follow a survivor who hasnt learned how to use these structures is rather easy. Later on, survivors tend to be better at knowing how to handle different main buildings or jungle gyms, and as a killer youll have to up your game and maybe throw in different mindgames to get them to slip up.

  • I think they were specifying the hooks dont need to be "fair", not the game itself. Your chance at not going on a hook was the chase that occured before hand. The game shouldn't have hook dead zones by default.

idk, probably I'm just very unlucky with matchmaking. I'm rank 8, but I've only maxed one character and it was claudette. I don't have DS or borrowed time yet to go above and beyond yet to help the team. Maybe things will change for me when I get those two perks.

Those perks arnt gonna get your teammates on the gens. If you had actually killed that much of the killer's time, the game SHOULDVE pretty much been over. Instead of seeing the LAST gen pop though, you said you didnt even see 1 gen pop.

  • Last time I went against OoO...there was actually 2 of em, lol. My Freddy just sharpened his claws on em and got the EZ 4k anyway. Give away your position to me and then try looping me around every overly safe building you can think of...Freddys gonna get ya.

''dirtygloveoj'' is that the randomly generated name? I'm picturing work gloves just dripping with orange juice.

I'm PC and PS4 so I'm not complaining about your camping techniques, people criticize me for my Basement technique.

Theres no way that name is randomly generated... It also has nothing to do with orange juice...

  • Cant really say its about the killer being too strong if your team was unable to do ANY gens after not having any pressure put on them for 4+ minutes. Sounds like you get paired with either ppl too busy looking EVERYWHERE for ruin or ppl too scared to do anything if the killer is on the same side of the map as them.

What other things do you find silly? It's not like survivors are getting absurd amounts of BP.

Always thought struggle points was dumb. Congrats on getting caught and NOT suiciding (throws BPs at you).

And tbh the new badham maps are even worse than the original, which I didn't even think was possible. With some bad RNG there's a pallet every couple feet along with the god window and insane loops at the school itself, then toss in some balanced landing BS at the buildings for good measure and you have a real nightmare of a map for most killers.

I actually started using map offerings to play there. It might have a decent amount of pallets, but only like 3 or 4 actually NEED to be kicked before you can get a hit.

  • His suggestion is actually insane. Could you imagine just running a killer that 1shots and having permanent haste until they down someone...then another permanent haste, lol.

  • Lerys is one of my favorite maps to play on when using Myers. Last time it randomly popped up for me, I actually did a little celebration dance before starting. It might not be best for stalking and hitting T3 alot, but you can very easily adopt a hit and run tactic and mostly stick to T2. Always have a fun time.

Do you lose stacks when the obsession is killed, or can you not gain any more when they are killed (similar to STBFL)?

It's only active while the obsession is alive, and doesn't have any negative impact on the obsession. The obsession actually gains a 33% boost to unhooking and healing.

If you wanna know how long to slug for DS, use MYC because its 60 second timer starts with the DS. When MYC expires, it's safe to pick up the slugged the survivor because both timers start and end at the same time. :)

Just a little tip, and for the Deliverance DS combo, it's the same thing but it's with the broken status effect. Wait for the broken effect to disappear from the slug's health icon, then it's safe to pick them up.

I don't use MYC often, and I don't intend on using it solely as a stop watch. Also, like I said...I don't CAMP my slugs. I have no intention on staring at someone for 60 seconds.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/673509#Comment_673509

I personally don't mind slugging, even when I still get hooked because they wasted time not hooking me. However, the situation you're describing was the survivors not playing to their fullest extent because they could've easily spread apart to force a hook.

Anyways, great job for pushing the survivor's mistakes! :)

Since DS is so common, I tend to leave someone slugged at least 1 time each game. Always find it funny to see the perks at the end and 3-4 DSes, not 1 used. I don't CAMP my slugs, just do it to waste their time and chase someone else.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/673396#Comment_673396

Personally, I like getting slugged because it usually means I don't lose a hook state. :)

Some ppl apparently just see it as either cheap or toxic, like the killer is doing it to watch you die SLOWLY. It's mostly a tactical choice if you see you can immediately do more.

I had a Myers game where after hitting T3 and downing 1 guy... I saw a 2nd close by. Instead of wasting T3 time, I quickly downed the 2nd, just to see numbers 3 and 4... In the end, managed to down all 4 within the 60 seconds T3 was active, not something I could've done if I spent time hooking after each down.

  • Bloodlust isn't really something you should be RELYING on. If your building up bloodlust to tier 3 before finally breaking a pallet you SHOULDVE realized was too safe to mind game, that's on you. Learn to gauge which pallets to play and which ones to break instead of overly relying on bloodlust to win the chase FOR you.

  • I always PREFER the green medkit over the purple. Typically, 1 green medkit is enough to heal up in a match if a teammate isn't around. Having you ONLY getting medkits is just shooting yourself in the foot on times when your team desperately needs a key.

  • Killers slug for a multitude of reasons, not JUST to watch you bleed out. If this is a common occurrence for you, might I suggest unbreakable.

i mean i guess i havent played at higher ranks so i wouldnt really know the pain too much... still, i just dont like that Pig, Trapper, and Plague get the short end of the stick when it comes to the mystery of what killer it is.

Its not as bad for Trapper, since his traps are easier to glance over, but I understand. This hook idea would simply give EVERY killer the same short end of the stick. Those 3 arnt too overly crippled though by knowing their identity. Even if Pig fails to get you with a sneak attack, the ambush lunge is actually pretty handy mid chase. For Trapper, the biggy is to make sure no one is sneaking around you and seeing where your placing traps...which whispers is great for that.

I must be missing something but why would Bamboozle force more pallet drops?

I’m always running Blood Warden and Remember Me currently (as insurance). They rarely come into play, but I’m always glad I have them equipped if the 5th gen pops. Last 2 perks I just screw around with. Was using Territorial Imperative & Monstrous Shrine for quite a while there because why not, lol. I don’t care too greatly what I equip in the last 2 slots because, other than endgame, Freddy feels very viable perkless.

Typically any area that has a window and pallet will allow the survivor to increase the life of the pallet by allowing them to vault the window multiple times. Just look at killer shack for a prime example, or most jungle gyms. Take away the window, and the survivor is forced to drop the pallet soon after to avoid being hit.

  • yeah, theyre making it so hooking non-obsession targets gives you stacks. The more stacks you have, the more of a debuff non-obsessions get to repair, heal, cleanse, ect speeds.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/672468#Comment_672468

thats not necessarily true though. you can know its pig or trapper right away, you can still get ambushed, still step in a trap outside of a chase. and for Myers you dont have to stalk when they dont see you. you can stalk mid chase, i often do. I feel like Ghostface would suffer a lot more from this than Myers, but he doesnt even have a hook design to go with him.

Chasing anyone while moving at 105% speed is brutal, and getting any meaningful stalk from it is pretty much impossible.

Yeah, I gotta agree killers with no mobility tools are absolutely screwed on giant corn maps, you're almost guaranteed to lose if the survivors don't throw for example if you're Legion on a giant corn map like the one with just corn or the one with the barn. The matchmaker expects you to have Billy like mobility and if you don't you're nearly guaranteed a loss sometimes, and if you don't feel like playing a guaranteed loss and dc at the start you get banned eventually. It's just not fair, you can combat almost anything that survivors bring or do with skill and great use of your power but if you get a bad map vs good players it's gg. I understand there are bad maps for survivors too like the game, I'm not saying it doesn't need to be addressed and killer preferences are the only important ones but it's 1v4. I made this go too long but I'm tired and you get the idea, play a 115 killer on a standard map vs omega corn and you'll feel the difference hard.

This isnt quite true. The map with JUST corn you were mentioning is called Rotten fields, and was actually my FAVORITE map to play in as Old Freddy. Before his rework hit live, I actually burnt all my coldwind offerings, just so I could play on Rotten fields. Got myself a nice screenshot of getting a 4k in under 2 minutes (resulting in a black pip, lol).

Many of the larger maps just requires abit of smarter play on the killer's part. Temple of Purgation for example is HUGE, but the actual temple area is VERY unsafe for survivors and killer friendly. The gens next to and behind the temple have very little in the way of pallets, while the temple's gen is SUPER unsafe since it ONLY has super unsafe pallets around it. This map became my favorite to play as when using Myers, who once again... doesnt have mobility options.

Yeah I agree about the snares.

They’re 100% more reliable than the pallets.

I do like to mix it up and use the pallets occasionally though. Sometimes survivors just won’t fall for them. Sometimes they result in a dozen free hits.

My normal build with Freddy is BBQ, Ruin, PGTW and STBFL. I dont have much experience with pallets, but I figured... If I use em, Id just bring bamboozle instead of STBFL to force survivors to drop more pallets. Thoughts?

  • @Forceful_Spork said:

Dying as the obsession I think should give you points, because it isn't very fair that you got selected by RNG to be tunneled by the Killer because he has Remember Me, current Dying Light, Rancor, etc.

Your just as likely to be completely ignored by the killer with STBFL, PWYF, and NEW dying light. Also, killers dont typically tunnel their obsession out of the game if they have Rancor. Rancor's obsession related effect only takes place at the very end of the game, and only after giving the survivor 5 heads ups that its in effect. Tunneling them out BEFORE then is a waste of the perk, and if you kill them at endgame...is that even considered tunneling at all? As a survivor, thats when you just need to be the one playing more stealthy and letting your teammates go for the saves or open the doors if their available.

  • Id say bond is the best, since its effect is so generalized. It helps you keep track or other survivors's actions (someones going for an unhook, someones being chased) as well as finding objectives quickly (someones working on a gen, lets help em). Unlike other aura reading perks that require certain conditions to be met, bond just requires you to be in range. If you feel like that range is a tad too short...can always boost it with open handed.

  • Definitely...

    Laurie has DS

Bill has either unbreakable or BT, maybe both

    David has DH

    Nea has balanced landing

Meg has adrenaline (but then again, who doesnt, lol)

  • @Mookywolf said:

i dont really like the excuse of "then you'll know who the killer is". i mean, thats the case in the first 10 seconds for a few killers. cant tell you how many times, just as im spawning, i go "oh hey, its Trapper" or, "oh hey, its pig". or a couple seconds after spawn "oh cool Billy" or, "oh man Nurse". like some killers you'll know right away anyways.

Often times, loud killers are the ones who dont care if there position is known. Nurse screams everytime she blinks, making it easy to keep track of her. She'll likely give away her position (and identity) anyway within 2 seconds of the game starting. The killers who rely on stealth are the ones more affected. If you KNOW its a Myers as soon as you spawn in, youll know not to rely on your spinechill right away. If everyone knew they were facing him right away, hed be stuck in T1 forever...

  • I think the random things survivors have been getting points for need looking at. While im all for boosting values for things you should be aiming at doing (like totems), atm ppl are getting BPs for silly things, like dying as obsession.

  • You COULD always lvl up other killers with the BPs you earn from playing Trapper. Thatll let you unlock their teachables while also having a decent amount of perks and addons available on them for if you DO decide to actually play them.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I’d like to add that all of the above in my previous comment is even MORE effective on sleeping survivors because of the non directional lullaby.

Which is why I now strongly feel Pill Bottle is one of Freddy’s strongest add ons.

I totally thought it was a pretty lacklustre add on, especially for purple. I initially thought “what’s the point of this add on?!?!”

Now I get it, Pill Bottle makes total sense and I see why it’s actually quite strong once you know what you’re doing with Freddy.

Ive been hoarding those things and only actually using afew green addons.

Also btw... As a rank 1 Freddy main...Snares all the way. With pallets, you have to TRICK the survivor. Its on the survivor whether they fall for it or not, not you. With snares, you can place it down while they watch you do it, and STILL get benefit from it.

  • I use to get super frustrated too, but eventually just ended up getting use to how to use the handful of killers I like using. Treating every killer the same is often ppls problems, even if they APPEAR very similar. First killer I hit rank 1 with was OG Freddy, and I was sweaty AF at the time, lol. Now though, after getting better... Im able to be quite chill with Freddy (loving the rework), but can also play Shape and Pig at a decently high rank. I don't play any of the highest tier killers.

  • Was thinking just making him actually invisible like Spirit. I think it's weird that the killer that can attack you right away is REALLY invisible, while the one that has to spend time in a decloaking animation can be seen.

  • I'd say avoid this... For many killers, the initial view of a survivor is critical. If all survivors KNEW it was a Myers as soon as they spawned in, RIP getting out of T1.

  • I'd say any killer that is listed as "average" height, minus hag and nurse. This would be legion, pig, GF, Freddy, and Spirit. Hag is bent over and Nurse is floating.

  • The drowning victim

    The pissed off goalie

  • Maybe if talking about singular chases, rather than downs. If you adopt a hit and run tactic, you can use the small TR to get hits in, before moving on. Can also use the small TR of T2 to get in close before tapping for a T3 instadown.

  • It really depends on how long youve been on the hook. If youve been on for 5 seconds, an unsafe unhook is a terrible idea. If your about to go to the next hook stage anyway though, might as well give you a chance...

How a lower terror radius grants you a 15 seconds chase ? That doesn't make any sense.

who said anything about a 15 second chase?

  • @anarchy753 said:

Yeah, can't say I'm the biggest fan of the way they choose to change things.

They like to compartmentalise things, we can't fix an issue or an add on with a killer until the killer gets EVERY add on changed, or rebuilt from the ground up.

With Freddy they identified about 5 changes (like no progress in the transition) that would've made him much more fun about a year earlier, but chose to leave him disgustingly unfun until his full rework was decided on.

DS had like 5 variations, one or two of which ever made it to a PTB and that took YEARS.

We don't get small fixes to one or two broken things until it's done in bulk. We don't get adjustments, or steps in the right direction until it's "this is the exact version we have decided on, bar minor number tweaks."

It's frustrating, but I guess that's just the way it is.

Addons actually HAVE been tweeked without a full blown rework. Huntress's Iri head, Manna grass braid and Flower Babushka have all been adjusted to avoid being OP, although ppl still dont like Iri heads.

Same, although I haven’t been playing as much so I’m not currently in red ranks. :P

Atm, im just takin it easy on an alt account and letting newbies practice. Playing some Bubba and having some chases, but not going all out. They all get to live and alot of times I just pretend whatever trick they tried doing TOTALLY fooled me. Id rather me run em around than someone else who WONT go easy on em.

Honestly still not always 100% sure and I'm well over 1400h at this point.

it varies with each thing. Slightly on the addon "spark plug" means 12%, while Moderately on the addon "manna grass braid is 8%"

  • Im pretty sure it has to do with WHO hes moriing. Against Ash, he has a puppet on one hand...So the other hand is the one that gets picked.

  • Id say wait til the perk comes out before complaining about bugs. You might get surprised and the exact opposite happens, where you dont even have to GET the heal, just be within 3 miles of a guy who got healed. I once saw a guy get the "safe hook rescue" points which activated his deliverance in the middle of the mori animation for the guy who he rescued.
