because every other survivor meta perk is literary broken or very very good

And the same is for killer meta perks. Like you can't just ignore all of the strong options killers can bring as well. The only truly "broken" options for survivors, as in unfair, are dead hard and CoH. Even then, killer definitely has just as strong of options that they can bring, not counting also using those insane combos on the top tier killers.

I've mentioned a well-known exploit that I've run into a dozen times in the past two weeks. This hasn't been addressed AT ALL by the devs despite it being common knowledge. They don't give a ######### about killers. Pay attention to their actions, not their words.

What is the exploit lol an exploit implies it is something that is not intended by the game and is being abused. Using perks together that are still counterable is not an exploit.

oof I played way back then devil may cry, I really miss that game I should really get back to it and play the most recent title.

DMC 5 is an absolute blast and I cannot recommend it more. What an absolute BANGER of a soundtrack

Tried to convince friends to play, even though they have money, still would require insane amount of time to grind out meta perks.

Because one would guess buying a survivor/killer would unlock the perks behind them, but not so, you need to invest 1 million blood points at least, just to unlock a chance to have those perks on other killers/survivors, and of course you need tier 3 too, to add even more grind.

When they realise what that means nobody stays, cant justify the insane time requirement this game asks for newcomers. This really should be the top thing to be fixed.

Imo, the grind is WORSE if you pay. My girlfriend got the game and I essentially made her believe the grind wasn't as bad as it really is because I told her to only get specific characters or perks.

As someone who has every killer and every perk, as well as a majority of the survivors but all the survivor perks, I only have 1 survivor with all the perks unlocked and I have about 3 killers with every single perk. It just takes way too long to get the perks you want on any killer when you have them all.

To all new players starting out, look up guides on the best characters to get or only get the characters you want. The grind is way more reasonable when you can only get the stuff you want out of bloodwebs, no bad filler perks.

Okay, but compared to CoH pretty much everything except DH or DS is niche

exactly, not arguing that lol CoH is downright stupid

  • well compared to an infinite medkit for the entire team, it is still fairly niche and during some matches it is just not worth wasting your time for a funny haha no scratchmark area

  • @Maxitolliony said:

if you got a swf with these perks ggs.

no scratch marks, self healing at a fast rate, iron will so you will never hear them and dead hard to just flat out ignore your attack.

legit if all survs runs this you can't do anything.

i just wish they would nerf all the meta perks so others can shine, the mmr is fine since you get bloodpoints for climbing up but mmr is kind of not balanced right ether.

    sigh.

so much cover for survs so its so easy for them to just dip cause of these perks since you legit can't see or hear or do anything to counter the healing since you waste so much time breaking the boon so many times.

Only CoH and Dead Hard need reworked, the other two are perfectly fine lol

I never understood this. COH is good yeah, but so is shadowstep.

As far as exponential, and dark theory they're both very niche but not horrible by any means.

Shadowstep is definitely good but as someone that tracks by footsteps a lot, it just never really hurts me and it is still fairly niche. I do use it the most out of all the boons for sure though, but its use is mainly for getting away from a gen without being seen when the killer is approaching

  • Except for the fact that only 1 boon is good, and the rest are all horrible. They are a good idea, the only problem is that it was stupid to think that an infinite and fast medkit you can provide to your whole team would be good.

  • @SuzuKR said:

I know that you have stated before the reason a flat FOV increase/slider will not be basekit is because this game is balanced around a limited FOV. But I want to genuinely bring up a debate regarding that.

Yes, up to +15° basekit would remove some strategies that are possible currently. For instance, hiding right beside the killer, hiding by a window due to the killer's limited FOV, hiding more to the sides of their screen, etc. However, how common or impactful even are those sorts of things?

Even without the ability to do certain techniques like those anymore or at a reduced level of capability, I genuinely do not think it is much of a loss or impact at all. In the first place, techniques like that do not work if a killer just pays attention. For instance, it is standard for better players to check their surroundings regularly, check beside them after vaulting to catch someone hiding right beside them, etc. The only thing it removes are things that weren't meaningful at all, in my opinion.

This also improves accessibility for people who get dizziness or headaches due to the limited FOV. Furthermore, it allows for reworking perks like Shadowborn or Monitor & Abuse in whole or part respectively, allowing for more helpful or interesting perk designs.

    and that's a fact, deadass

Many ppl have issues, anger or even some hate towards dbd. This is often getting projected towards other things in dbd that has nothing or little to do with the actual problems, for example the devs mainly. Not saying the devs are perfect and doing everything right but they do pretty good changes mostly overall which is often getting just looked passed or even ignored.

I have the feeling that most of these ppl that feel like that simply dont play or refuse to try out other games. Many of my friends ONLY play dbd, I was able to convince 2 friends to play 7 days with me after a long and excessive sellout of the game (Tried to convince them over 3 weeks to try it out). Now they love that game and we play it almost every day and we all 3 barely play dbd now.

I met alot of ppl personaly who just play dbd and never something else thats why I wanna see how it looks like on the forums, do you play any other games actively trying to blow off some steam and coming back to dbd after you feel rdy for it?

I personaly have a big variaty of other games I often play such as Hearthstone, Black ops 4 zombies and 7 days to die.

Mostly Elden Ring as of recently, super fun.

Besides that, I mainly play the Devil May Cry series or other character action games, and some Apex every now and then.

I don't think people fully realize the struggle that's going on in the killer playerbase. We've basically been trying to push all killers to viability, or as close as we can get, in any way we can. And when we say viable, we don't mean beating disorganized solos, we mean beating efficient SWFs. Some killers literally don't have the tools to beat those teams no matter how good you play, simple fact. And we've tried to remedy this in many ways, but we've been blocked at every attempt as the months and years roll by.

We try to use the viable killers, the ones with the strong base strength, who may not even need add-ons to be strong. Examples of this are Hillbilly, and probably Blight soon. Those killers get nerfed because their base is "too strong."

We try to use unviable killers with their strongest add-ons so that they are, or come close to, viable because their base is weak. Examples of this are Clown and Pinhead. Those killers get nerfed because "their OP add-ons make them into a different killer basically".

We try to use perks to buy us time just to play, or to cut down on time to beat the race against time killers have to play. Examples of this are Pop, Ruin, probably Dead Man's Switch soon, or STBFL, Fearmonger, NOED. These perks get nerfed because they're "boring" and "way too strong."

We try to use a change in playstyle and strategy to generate more momentum and kills. Examples of this are slugging, camping, 2-hooking, 1-hooking, focusing on 1-2 people only. These strategies are probably getting nerfed because they're "uninteractive, unfair, and toxic."

So my question is, when all is said and done, what are we actually supposed to be playing like? It seems like we're pushed to either:

Play dirty, boring, sweaty, and make people hate us for it.

    Or

Play nice, fair, and get bullied if we don't cease to care about the game that we're playing.

Any way we play, we're not only chastised by others in the community, but we'll not be playing that way for long without expecting a nerf. Simply playing a certain way has people questioning things like your morals and character. And that translates to balance as well, because those same people will plant ideas in the devs' heads like, "This thing is unfair, so remove it. I don't like this, and if you don't fix it I'll auto-DC every time." As a result of this, we've seen killer nerfs that I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams. You don't have to agree with all my examples being unjust nerfs, but to name a few (or rather, many): Hillbilly, Pop, Freddy, dream pallets, Demogorgon, Pyramid Head, Marvin's Blood, Mikhail's Eye, Twins, Undying, Discordance, Deathslinger, Pinhead, Wraith, Spirit, Pinky Finger, Engineer's Fang, Larry's Remains, Flask Of Bleach, Thanataphobia, All-Seeing Blood, Shadow Dance Blood.

And there's many more where those came from, based on the popularity of a variety of killer nerf requests. Bloodlust is probably going, as well as Blight, Nurse, Twins, Artist, Hag, Pig, NOED. It's beyond parody. How can one side deserve to get nerfed so much? Why is killer viability treated like a taboo?

After seeing enough of your posts I am just convinced you are the killer variation of sluzzy, and if you aren't then they are always such cope takes lol the fact of the matter is still that both sides can turn the tide by bringing a lot of things for their favor, no matter what killer. Yes there is killers that are WAY better than others, and yes some killers need buffed, but stop acting like every time you turn on the game BHVR personally kicks your knees out and kisses your mother because you wanted to play killer. Killer can do just as mean of stuff, both sides can be bullied or bully. The only problem is MMR which hurts both sides.

That's pretty much all I was saying without wanting to dive into what people believe balance is but I guess we kind of have to have that conversation to explain what I believe everyone is viable. 2 kills as far as I'm concerned is a win.

If you're judging the ability to 12 hook, 4k a team then obviously there are certain killers that aren't as capable of pulling that off compared to others (and again, I think it's OKAY that killers are different strengths). You don't need to get a 4k to win as killer (and it should be a rarity, not the norm). You likewise do not need all 4 people to escape to win as survivor (nor should all survivors escaping be the norm, it should be a rarity).

I firmly believe every killer is EASILY capable of getting 2 kills in their sleep (not literally) and if being slightly sweaty, a 3k. Assuming they're played by a capable player. If you get blown out and get no kills at all in a match, that's a skill issue and I can't think of an argument where you can't get a kill or two with any killer in this game.

Oh yeah that is my same mindset too and I completely agree, any killer can do exceptionally well in most situations and most people complaining are just usually coping

  • @RakimSockem said:

The title alone will make most people not read this I'm sure but I'll explain my opinion anyway.

I'll make a brief comparison to another game and then I'll get to my point. In Apex Legends (yes I'm aware it's not an asymmetrical game). certain characters are just naturally stronger than others. I main Wattson and Lifeline but I know characters like Octane, Valk, Pathfinder, and Wraith are considered "higher tier" for their mobility and ability to take high ground. Do I think Wattson should be buffed to be able to get high ground and compete with those characters? No, that would be silly. Her playstyle is different and her skill cap should be different.

Going back to DBD, I always see comments about buffing certain killers to the level of the likes of Nurse, Blight, Huntress, etc and I personally don't think they should. Their playstyles are different and they should perform at their current levels based on what type of character they are. Myers should never have the map pressure of a Spirit. Clown should never have the same camping control as a Hag. Killers should not be on the same levels in what they're able to do.

Additionally, just like there are people who play in Masters and Predator ranks in Apex with low tier characters, there are people who play DBD who can pick up ANY killer and do well with them. Which means that the issue isn't actually the characters, it's the skill level of the majority of players and I think that's a harsh truth most people aren't ready to accept. The majority of DBD's player base (and this is directed at survivors AND killers) are just not as good at the game as they think they are. Plain and simple. Your inability to 4k with the Wraith doesn't make the Wraith bad because someone else using the same character against the same team COULD get it done. Therefore, the issue is the player, not the character.

MAYBE Myers needs a slight buff to get out of tier 1 faster but that's literally it. Every killer is fine as they are and should not be buffed or nerfed. (Except the Nemesis tier up sound. that thing is too loud and needs a heavy nerf)

I do actually agree but not to that degree. There definitely are killers that are objectively worse and are hurt more when the RNG factors are more weighted against them. A nurse won't be that affected by unfair map offerings, but a clown or pig will. There definitely are factors that make some killers objectively worse, but they aren't ever so bad that they can't win. In fact, even on a really bad match, a 2k is still extremely easy to achieve.

I think the real problem comes from the fact that people think every round should be a 4k, or people think a 4k equals balance when that isn't the truth. A nurse and blight getting easy 4ks or being able to 4k with most factors doesn't mean they are "the only viable killers", it means they are the absolute strongest killers that can win the easiest.

I do agree with most killers being viable because, well, you don't need to 4k every match. If you don't like getting a 0k, surivors definitely don't like constant 0 escapes. Now in the top percent, there IS only a couple killers that are viable, but I promise you aren't going against the top percent every round lol. Play who you like

Played Sifu alot on my break on DBD. Sifu basically discusses Wude which is the practice of letting an opponent know that you could defeat them handily, but allowing them to live as a mercy.

Coming back from DBD from a long break (Pre SBMM I had a 80% Kill Rate as a Killer Main). My matches are me playing for 8 Hooks 4 Escape matches. I still play seriously after 8 hooks just slugging or farming (depends on the Survivor if they want to farm or loop).

My Recent match on all my Killer are all 8 Hooks 4 Escape and I haven't encountered any Sweat Squads recently which puts a smile on my face. These Matches are high fast paced no camping, always on a chase gameplay.

After 8 Hooks, I just Slug people then just chase another one which is more FUN I had since SBMM was introduced in September.

You might say "I consider winning to be the most fun in this game". WUDE comes at play here. After 8 Hooks I keep downing people and still play seriously when chasing Survivors. I essentially just let them live, on my mind I just think to myself "I could have Hooked/Killed/Sacrificed them <insert number of times you rekted them> times already". Thinking I could have killed this Nea or any of the four Survivors 15+ times already is a super win for me.

WUDE in DBD makes the game fun as you don't get cucked by BHVR's Bad SBMM and makes all 5 Players in a match Happy.

I know why they're not Special attacks, but with the advent of abominations such as Starstruck Nurse, I thought I'd hear what everyone else has to say.

When I asked, I was given 3 reasons why Nurse's attacks are basic.

    1) She is so reliant on her blinks that she would otherwise functionally have no basic attack

    2) While having some small differences, her post-blink lunges are otherwise nearly identical to a basic attack

    3) She pre-dates the special/basic attack distinction. Going back to change it causes "issues." This is an assumption, but I THINK we saw a glimpse of this with how buggy her Post-Blink grab cancel was (to the point she got disabled even).

But should they go through the effort anyway? I look forward to seeing your reasoning down below.

My way of seeing it is to declare it a special attack, it can't be similar to a basic attack. I think Blight is a perfect example. While it definitely is close to a basic attack, the base ways it functions are different. Nurse's function nearly identically to a basic attack, and so I don't know why the devs should take the effort to classify it as such when it takes them months or years to change simple numbers for killers.

What would be your 1 QOL buff to your main?

    I'll start:

    • Demogorgon has quiet footsteps whenever he is Undetectable.

    Simple stealth buff

    Pinhead:

    • You can vault or break pallets immediately after leaving your gateway.

Right now there is like a half a second or around that where right after you chain someone, you can't vault or break pallets. If he was able to, it would actually make his chase so much better and it would mean that holding w is even less effective against him.

  • @Vampwire said:

The idea I have is pretty simple, but the way I word it may be confusing, so if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.

Tier 1: behaves as normal. hitting a survivor will infect them then open them up for injury.

Tier 2: hitting a healthy uninfected survivor will injure and infect them. hitting an uninfected injured survivor will give only infect before damaging them again.

Tier 3: damages survivors of any health state and infects them.

    and hopefully better zombie AI

The purpose of this is to make the tiers have varying danger and be more rewarding. The extended range is nice, but having to hit survivors 3 times regardless is a really counterintuitive process. Plus the whole concept of his power is he mutates into stronger forms, like the games.

I think a tweak to supply crates may be necessary if this buff ever went live. Maybe they respawn after certain checks or times?

He does not need a buff, he is a fine killer.

  • @Piruluk said:

Probably the fatal flaw of asymmetrical genre that it can't be ever balanced.

Currently in dbd we are seeing constant nerfs on survivor side, while killers are getting buffed.

Unfortunately the reality that these nerfs only makes playing solo survivor even more miserable. Now these survivor players will play in SWF, thus making playing killer miserable or they are just straight leaving the game(this is one part of reason for player drop)

Because lets be clear in one thing, when 4 good player, plays in SWF the game is fundamentally broken into pieces, you have so much information(knowing the killer location almost all the time), reliable teammates who can play decently, while the killer in chase, everyone else on gens, its like a god mode, most of the killer cast has no answer to this. Even the 2 killer who can do something requires significant time investment, you play killer like its your job(streamers can perform well or whose life is the game). So killers has to face more players in SWF, which in turns frustrates them and lot of killer just switch to play as survivor in SWF, or leaving the game(another reason for playerbase loss)

    So in summary:

Solo survivor percentage is getting lower by each week, which in turn increases survivor numbers in SWF, which in turn decreases killer numbers because playing against SWF is really unfair for Killer.

I don't know how could this be ever balanced. If solo would be buffed ,then SWF would get out of hand. Giving comms wouldn't solve because most would refuse to use.(seen in games where comms there but you still need SWF)

unpopular opinion, the game is at a very balanced state. The game can definitely still be improved, both sides have things that need looked at, but it can still be fairly balanced. The problem with the game is that it really doesn't want to be a balanced game imo, there are way too many things for both sides to drastically change the game in their favor. The game isn't survivor or killer sided, it is sided to the side that brings the stronger things. If it is a balanced map with both sides using the strongest things then it is pretty even. I just think MMR was a bad way to take it because it means people think they need those things to win because they think their opponent will do the same thing, which leads to the sweaty and (subjectively) unfun matches

The Puppet master will have several puppets roaming the map but only 3 will be able to inflict harm to survivors while the others will inflict status effects. The Puppeteer is able to re-choose certain puppets to cause pain to prevent survivors from always guessing which ones to avoid.

The Puppeteer has a 2nd ability which is similar to Pinheads chains. He is able to summon a puppet string that the survivor will have to try to cut the strings. The Strings will also cause the 2 nearest puppets to go near the master to aid him while the strings will slow the survivor.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6OCYEKDOUB13/image.png

Just a simple idea I thought off.

@HaunterofShadows Might as well ping since ya did a concept earilier and you know my obsession of Victorian Era themes lol

Is that picture of the puppets art of the puppet enemies from Devil May Cry 1? They look incredibly similar

Besides that, this idea would be really cool.

  • 1) No more MMR, that simple, but instead add a feature that tallies the favors for each side and which ever side has a rougher time gets bonus bp. The tally accounts for maps, offerings, and the killer presented in a match. Meaning playing an inherently weaker killer always grants more bp than usual. Makes getting destroyed less miserable.

    2) Survivor perk base kits, survivor should have kindred survivor aura's base kit as well as a BT basekit even for 6 seconds. This way the perks themselves don't need to be changed, they just increase the strength of base features.

    3) Killer perk base kits, killer should get call of brine base (I love the perk but I'm still mad that this was turned into a perk and not just a base feature seeing as killer has needed it forever) but without the time limit, kicking a gen should just do 200% regression as base; and killer should also get deerstalker base imo (just remove deerstalker lol)

    4) Fix optimization. It is definitely better but it still sucks blowing up a gen or missing a shot from my power because the game has spikes in frames.

    5) Nerf pig (community has been asking about it forever tbh)

  • Boons themselves don't really need nerfed because no matter what you do to it, the matter of fact is it just lowers the use of the 3 other boons, and CoH doesn't lose what is broken about it. The healing speed changes are great, but unlimited healing at a still relatively fast pace is still very strong. I just think it shouldn't stack with medkits personally and I'd be fine.

It's also never been easier to be a survivor. And the survivor role overall is pretty broken so when you take into account that both killer and survivor are easy to play but survivor is broken do you start to see the point yet? It has nothing to do with how easy killer is to play or what tools they have available. Like I dunno the purpose of your post actually is. You're having fun? Good for you, that's great. 90% of the player base especially killer player base currently is not so your point is pretty irrelevant.

where did you get the statistic that 90% of killers aren't having fun lmao the forums?? Are you also ignoring the broken things killer can bring as well? You can't just complain one side is broken then ignore all the things the other side has that can also be broken lmao

I didn't say it does, I quite literally said the opposite. A 4k doesn't mean something is balanced.

  • Here was a perk for a big concept I was working on

    Perfect Rig:

Taking time to prepare your craft will be worth the reward.

Start the game with 2/3/4 tokens. When any generator regresses for 15 seconds uninterrupted, the generator is highlighted yellow. Any survivor who interacts with the generator will cause it to lose 25% progress and use a token.

BHVR's stated reason is this game is balanced around a limited FOV, intentionally allowing survivors to evade a killer by skirting through blind spots. Personally, I don't think that's a good design ethic.

I would say blight would be the closest killer up there to recieve a nerf, but then again how many times do you go against blight? Once in 20 matches maybe. The only killer that really needed a nerf imo was deathslinger and he got absolutly slaughtered, which was sad cause daddy slinger was so fun and now he's eh. Besides that most killers are balanced or need buffs.

There are definitely things on both sides that need nerfed. Just because something isn't super OP doesn't mean it is well designed and nerfs can follow, deathslinger is a good example but like you said, he got nerfed way too much. Both sides do have things that are busted though and they do need to be addressed.

I can't get the hang of Perks, like, at all. I find it hard to create new Perks that aren't similar to already existing ones

never be scared of similar perks, the devs do it all the time, they just have to have atleast some unique purpose that makes the perk worth running over others. Think like unbreakable and exponential. They both do the same thing, but one is slower and limited use while the other is unlimited use and fast but limited area.

Concept makers, you know, those crazy people who make Concepts for DbD, like Killer Powers, Survivors and Perks, some of them even crazy enough to make a whole Chapter, I have two questions for you:

What's the hardest part about making a Concept? Is it trying to make a Killer Power? Trying to find Perks that suit their associated Killer or Survivor? Or is it finding the idea that the Killer/Survivor is based on? Is it trying to balance it out?

And my second question is, what's the easiest part?

As for me, the hardest would have to be Add-ons and Perks.

Add-ons take a long while and I usually get confused as to which Add-ons I already made and which ones I didn't, so I accidentally have 2 of the same Add-on, and sometimes I get an idea for an Add-on, write it down and then realize: "This is too good to be a Uncommon Add-on", and then I have to move it up and then either deleting a different Add-on or moving one down and then changing the effect/numbers of that Add-on.

Perks suck. Finding the right Perk name takes a while and then balancing it for 3 different Perk Tiers takes a bit too.

Easiest would have to be finding an idea.

I usually make licensed Chapter Concepts so finding what I want a Chapter based on isn't hard, it's just a bit tedious looking for what I'd expect for X license and then gathering data/references and adding them to the concept

The hardest part for me is actually thinking of the concept and how it would work in the game. So many concepts of powers feel boring, stuff like "oh they get tiers that make your speed of actions faster!" Those aren't bad ideas but they just feel so lazy compared to what could be done, the sky is the limit.

The easiest part and most fun is writing the backstory or doing perks and addons. They usually come easily with the power concept, which is why it isn't that hard for me.

Not perks that need changes because they are bad and useless. I'm talking about perks which are problematic in the way they affect the game. For example, dead hard, NOED, boons in general, stuff like old boil over, or it could even be a combination of perks that are problems when used together.

Give me suggestions and why you think they are problems that need addressing! I'm hoping to make a big video where I discuss them all and propose reworks for each.

boons aren't a problem imo, CoH is just extremely broken.

I dont like to play nurse and blight. But it feels like im forced to learn how to play them beacause other Killers are just to weak. Do something.

Unpopular opinion, almost every killer IS viable. Not every killer can just get easy 4ks like blight, nurse, or spirit. If you think about how the devs want the game balanced towards 2k 2e, then the game isn't that far off from being balanced.

  • If I'm being honest, just making it so tvs have no cooldown when used by Sadako would make her miles better, and also greatly reduce the time tvs are turned off when interacted with by survivors. Condemn definitely needs work, but her tvs feel like such a weird ability. "So she doesn't have any chase whatsoever but the tradeoff is she has great map pressure...that has loud directional audio, long cooldowns, and can be stopped by survivors with very little effort."

I don't get why it was done, were they scared she'd be too strong? Even if the TV's couldn't be turned off and had 0 cooldown, she would still barely have the same map presence as like blight and wraith and that still doesn't mean her chase would be improved.

Maybe it has something to do with having a fresh breath of air, I play extremely well as killer, but it's soo dang stressful I find, most killers I found 3/5 were respectful, I had one pretty much tunnel me out of existence, but that's what I get for not running DS with Dead Hard I guess haha, but in all seriousness, even as an inexperienced survivor I've noticed it's for the most part really relaxing

Technically yes, but this is also due to the fact that you are only 1/4th of your team and therefore are only in control of 1/4th of your team. This is where people usually complain about solo queue, seeing as losing could be totally out of your control and there isn't much you can do to help it. Personally, while survivor is less stressful, I will always find killer more fun and less frustrating as it is down to myself

  • @impulse_90 said:

    Exactly as the title says.

Playing killer at mid-high levels just isn't fun in any single way at all.

You have to play like a sweatlord to win a game, hell even just to down one player some of the time.

Then when you lose you get tbagged at the gate and trash talked post game chat for whatever reason.

Like are the developers of this game actually this blind to what's going on in their game?

It really is atrocious that they've allowed this game to spiral so far down this path to the point where the player numbers are starting to show a very concerning trend.

The game since last August has had a player count drop of 56% on steam (hate to think of the playercount drop on console)

This shows that players are not happy with the state of the game and most haven't been happy with the state of it well before SBMM came into play.

I think a major issue is the way the game is now played even in mid tier levels where killers tunnel and survivors either get bored of holding M1 all game on a gen or get sick of dealing with camping/tunnelling killers. Problem is camping/tunnelling is the only viable strat in the current meta because patrolling gens generally gets you nothing.

The fact that this stupid gamestyle hasn't been addressed and moreover the fact that the survivor role hasn't been tuned since release concerns me the most. They simply just keep adding more and more characters which means more and more perks and it's just digging that grave even deeper at this point.

A game should not make you even more frustrated when you reach higher levels, it should feel rewarding and give you a sense of achievement which this game currently does not. No matter what role I play it's just never ending frustration.

In summary I really do hope they turn this around because I used to have fun with the game and did like it alot once upon a time but if they allow it to continue down the path it's going well then... good riddance dbd.

This just in, you have to try in order to win while playing a pvp game, not fun for local killer. Surprised that people online are mean, blames devs. This and more at 6 with Fog News

Basically abuse the system to verse weaker players and have fun?

I cant help it if I'm good at stuff, it's not sweating it's just a second nature to do things doesnt mean I shouldn't be able to have fun in my matches?

Just the fact you say I should play worse and not try to get more fun games just highlights the issues the games isnt balanced the higher you go in mmr.

If I have to fight against a system and play dumb so I can hope to get a fun match that's stupid... so I guess every survivor game I should just die so I get easier killers and see a range of them?

Seems like bullying to me to make sure I go against easier players (which everyone claims I want) when in reality I just dont want the MMR to get more strict. Not saying remove it, just not to make it more strict.

I said nothing of the sort, I said to play how you like. If you don't want to camp or slug then don't. I didn't say to abuse the system and throw games. I can easily go for high hook games and only get like a 2k and still, MMR will raise. If you are good at the game, then that is fine but that has nothing to do with what I said lol I said you can still play however you have fun, and you still get your invisible number raised and you even get more points.

Technically, the game is balanced around 2k 2e and that is very possible with any killer playing casually. Now if you want the game balanced around 4k every match, that is still gonna take a lot of sweating to receive and that is not what the devs are going for. I'm literally not saying anything about what you want MMR to do, I'm saying the MMR system is bad and whether it gets more strict or not, it shouldn't affect how you play to have fun. However you have fun, you can still do it and that has never changed.

If you are just bored of the game, that isn't the game's fault, and if you aren't having fun then I'm sorry but I hope you either find something else to have fun with or take a break. I just don't understand the "game isn't fun" argument because that is entirely up to the player to decide lol

  • I just wish we could have some native characters or anything, there are some really cool folklore stories from all around the world

Like I keep saying I want mmr to remain how it is and not get more strict (like alot of these tests)

That's all I'm saying, I too have played since its release and play all killers but my point is the stricter it gets the less fun there is as either side.

And if a games not fun I wont play it, but trying to explain that and people just assume you want easy killer games are people just avoiding any points I make otherwise

if you don't care for MMR then don't play sweaty lol MMR didn't change that at all. I don't know why people think it has. There has always been sweaty people and there has always been people that play chill. If you don't want to play sweaty, then just don't. It is actually that simple. You cannot see MMR in any way whatsoever. If they never announced they were adding it, I doubt people would really notice. Just play how you want. If you want to win, then try winning and play sweaty, like every pvp game ever. If you just want to mess around or get points, play easy and how you want.

No invisible number should stop you. If it gets more strict, play how you want. If it gets looser, play how you want. If you want to win more, you are gonna have to be at least a little sweaty. That is just how games work lmao but if you want fun and to play easy, that option has literally never left but don't be surprised you aren't gonna 4k. The only way that idea COULD'VE left is if you actually just had more fun going against baby survivors and getting easy 4ks and now that you have to try it isn't fun.

So I cant say filled with survivor mains but you can say filled with killer mains? Kinda hurts your own point there youd be better off saying neither side is.

And the fact is games should be fun, and if you're actually against very good players then yeah its insanely difficult and you will struggle to get hooks.

Never said you wouldn't get any, just not very many nor will your game be fun. During the tests any killer that wasnt nurse or blight got about 4hooks... most killers was also nurse and blight.

Should read the post and not just the title

Fun is subjective and also not an argument point. Also I didn't say you couldn't say the forum was filled with survivors, but I said from my own observations and even what polls have suggested, the forum is most definitely more killer players than anything lmao.

Sorry you aren't having fun with the game, I still most certainly do have fun though even after almost 5 years, and I main killers like Pinhead and Legion lmao It is just about perspective and what you can actually do as killer. The game is in its best spot ever in terms for game balance despite what people say. Sure, maybe you don't want to slug and camp in every game, that is a perfectly valid complaint. Until they change the entire game though to fit that, ie nerfing killer AND survivor by a drastic amount, you are gonna have to adapt and play better to do better lol

  • Im still definitely leaning to killer as I don't always have a friend to play dbd with. Killer is what I started maining when I got the game and I've been a killer main since. I play a lot of survivor too, but not nearly as much as killer

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Doesn't matter if you want balance, highlight issues with either role it always end up being the same "killer main" "you just want easy games as killer" and its honestly kinds pathetic.

Just because I'm good at the game doesnt mean I dont deserve fun. And when I'm highlighting issues as a survivor you cant ignore them and focus on the killer part.

Why is everyone so against the game being fun for the weaker killers even at a higher mmr... all it ever seems to come to is survivor fun and power.

Stomping on low tier killers just because of strict mmr isnt fair for them, maybe I was born different. I will always encourage fun for everyone, encourage hooks and punish the unfun play styles.

I can't ever take posts like this seriously lmao there is no way someone can think the forums are filled with survivor mains, it is almost certainly just killer mains and the occasional person that actually plays both sides.

Also a fact of the matter is that weaker killers aren't just impossible to play at high mmr. They definitely have harder times and require more scummy play to do good, but people act like they only ever get 0 hooks lol.

  • She is the hardest killer to master in the game. You aren't gonna win every match and a part of learning and improving with ANY killer in this game is that you aren't gonna 4k. Personally, I don't see how this is something to complain about. That is part of almost any pvp game.

  • @nfochairman said:

The fact that no one sees how lopsided this game is. Survivors literally have time to make mini games inside the game. Killers don't have time to breathe for 1 second. And everyone just pretends it's not real. Everyone is just like so why are killers unhappy?

    I am dumbfounded

That's odd, I play at most times of the day when I can, and I'm still doing good and winning lol sounds like now the current topic to blame losses on is...time zones? It never ceases lmao

  • dont even have words lmao people think april fools is the bullying day and they are mad at a font change??

  • @SuzuKR said:

Most people on the forums play both. BHVR did a survey before.

Honestly Suzu, still really questionable if they told the truth

  • Well yes if you want to win, that is a part of the game and one of the most effective ways to win as well. It may suck but that is what the meta has turned to.
