4 flash means a bully lmao party is gonna troll lmao you to death the only fun is on they´re side lmao mao mao

Well yeah, it is only really a bully squad to newer players who don't know what to do and panic. I have loads of fun against flashlight players. Baiting hits, looking at walls, using my power in creative ways, or even just throwing on a single perk and countering the entire thing

  • Not a twins main but I am a long time twins enjoyer and supporter, they deserve all the love and it is a shame one of their best written chapters has this hated stigma on it.

As a killer main that has problems with this game I have to say flashlights are never one of them. I actually prefer flashlights out of any other item because I know most likely they won't be on gens and trying to save. I've even slugged all 4 a few times because one after another they kept showing up when I went to pick up(I was really baiting after the second).

People always call them bully squads but I think it is way more relevant to call them fun squads lmao they aren't rushing to do gens or slam you to death, they are just having fun in the game lol. Seeing 4 flashlights is a sign that I won't have to sweat and worry about medkits or toolboxes lol

  • @Pacciani said:

Every lobby i find have at least 1 flashlight ( mostly 2 ) without Light born is berely impossible to play ... maybe surv has to be limited 1x equip each team .... maybe they shouldn`t have perks considering that they can speak each other..... maybe some dev has to boost killers even in the low tier or punish trolls and teabággers .... but instead next update will sure give 5 perk to surv and decrees killer speed by 2 m/s

any flashlight posts automatically deserve an obligatory "get gud" comment lmao stop acting like killer is impossible and get better lmaoo

What's one perk on either side that you think has a lot of potential but not many people use it?

Survivor side: Diversion. This perk has saved my ass multiple times, specially at the end when you're the last survivor and need to open a gate. A lot of the times the killer will just go to the notif location, giving you more time to open one of the gates, which otherwise it's quite rare to be possible.

Killer side: Hex: Third Seal. I rarely see people using this perk, and sure it can be quite useless when totem spots are quite garbage on a lot of the maps, and 4men swf in voice chat can just bypass it, but it is really good against everyone else, which is the majority. It's one of the things I hate going against in solo q since I do use a lot of aura perks, including kindred and bond.

For survivor it has to be shadowstep, I think when people think about boons being op they just think of CoH and while Shadowstep is not even close to the same power (literally countered by headphones lmao) it has saved me so many times. Being able to move at full speed and not leave scratchmarks is so incredibly helpful. Is it good when the killer is actually good? probably not lol but I really enjoy it

For Killer I really enjoy Thrill of the Hunt, you'd think it wouldn't be so underrated right now with all the moaning about boons, but no one uses it? It is so weird and it makes boons take FOREVER to be blessed. I sometimes even just use it as my only hex now, maybe combined with Undying so even trying to get rid of it takes way longer. Since boons also dont destroy totems, if they never cleanse thrill, it keeps all 5 stacks and makes blessing stay awful all match.

Does anybody know when window/pallet vaults will be server sided like with what they did for pallet stuns? It's extremely annoying to have a decent pallet drop system but then can be hit over a pallet when you are standing on the complete opposite side of it.

As far as I know, they are.

Hi, New player here and a few random thoughts. I’m enjoying the game and found it far more addictive than I thought it would be.

I’ll be the first to admit I was very wrong about this game and I’m little late to game so to speak. Granted I’m here mostly because of the licensed killers. So a big Thank you to the Devs for putting Pinhead in a game! Much pleasure and pain has been had.

But as for Freddy, why didn’t he have a truly ‘nightmare’ inducing power like an ability to create illusionary Freddy clones that just run towards survivors from a random direction? The power can’t hurt the survivors but scare them off objectives /fake them out etc. The pallet one is just…so… meh.

On that note this game really needs the classic archetype of “The Shapeshifter.” The obvious power being the killer can turn into the last survivor it hits.  It really doesn’t have to be a license of Carpenter’s “the Thing.” The Dev team could make a truly horrific creature. I imagine the killer would look the Zygote from Oats Studios (youtube it). I would love to see something along the lines of an infiltration killer, one that can get up-close and set in uncertainty to survivors before transforming and starting the chase.

And can someone explain the actual difference in survivors or is it really just their starting perks? They don’t have any individual pros/cons from one another. Like talents or anything that makes them unique besides cosmetics right?

Thanks, & see you in the trials.

Thank you for the fresh thoughts and I'm happy you are enjoying the game.

A shape shifting killer wouldn't really work super well because a 4 man team could just communicate and break the ability

also you should probably not come here or the subreddit for views on the game lol stick with some nice streamers or youtubers that have actually been playing the game for a long time, they have a much more educated view on the game.

There is no way on God's blessed green Earth that you saw Circle of Healing and thought that was okay to release.

Same with every map you've released since Hawkins, same with Pinhead and how he breaks his own chains, etc.

All feedback submitted to you is promptly ignored entirely, and I just don't know why. Why do you ignore your community? Why do you think people complain about what they complain about?

What are you so afraid of? You don't know the game as well as you think you do, and as Developers that is beyond not okay, it is unacceptable in every capacity.

And STOP TAKING SO LONG TO PUSH CHANGES. Perk changes should be EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. There are FAR too many for this not to be the standard.

If I was a dev I wouldn't listen to the forums either lol have you seen some of the stuff on here?

You can’t really make much distance when she’s 115%

except she has a lot of slowdown setting down her birds, run tiles normal, she starts setting birds, leave

  • For trickster it should be that they take 8 knives to injure, but degrade after 45 seconds instead of the usual like 11 seconds

  • @PlayTwink said:

She doesn't. She's easier to dodge than nurse. Her counter is similiar to pyramid head, trying to dodge torment as long as possible. Nurse requires more stealthy counter. A good nurse in chase is basically unstoppable

Also you can run into her crows and they don't damage

  • @THEBLASTOUT said:

Why can survivors repair 4 gens at a time if I can't chase 4 at the same time, even though killer are a little bit faster survivors have way less things to do in a match than killers.

Killers waste more BP than survivors because they can find a flashlight or medkit in a chest, but killers can't get anything in match, you can be looking for a specific add-on but you can't find it so you waste more BP than a survivor.

Survivors doesn't need perks to play but killers does.

The game is so unbalanced that I can play with no mither as my only perk and win

The game as killer is literally meant to be a harder task, who told you that killer was some powerhouse that wins games without trying lol it is the nature of a 1v4 game that the 1 is harder.

That being said it IS a 1v4 game, not a 1v1. Pressure the map and improve, don't blame the survivors for your loss when you can still improve. Maybe rewatch your killer games and look for mistakes. Look for where you needed to drop a chase, or when you should've played territorial, etc.

Also would love to see some of this no mither gameplay of yours

  • She has about the same counterplay as nurse, it is about mindgames and making distance, especially since the artist can only really down with crows from a range if you are incredibly good at predicting and use 2 specific addons in a niche way.

did you just call Dead by Daylight a "competetive pvp game"?

DbD is about as competetively viable as Mario Party, its not a competetive game at all.

Not saying it like it is a comp balanced game, but it is most definitely played with a competitive nature and it is player vs player.

Maybe I'm alone here I don't know but I can't have fun anymore when I play as a killer.

Either I have to sweat extremely hard to kill them with the same perks over and over which is no fun and just work or I try new thinks (like the new killer) and get bullied and genrushed in 5 minutes with a teabagging group at the exit gate as a bonus.

How are other people seeing this? Please tell me a way to have fun without having to play blight with ruin and thinkerer.

I still have fun, maybe a competitive pvp game isn't for you if you are expecting to win by not trying

Ironic saying a killer is unfun when like, any killer can be unfun, it is subjective.

With the removal of Hawkins RCPD is now easily the most infuriating maps to play killer on. I never had a problem with it before boons were introduced into the game but specifically CoH makes the map unbearable. If you play killer and get unlucky a boon 2 floors above in the library covers a third of the map. Maybe im more mad at boons but RCPD highlights how one sidedly broken boons are currently.

It is one of my favorite maps for killer, and RE is one of my favorite licenses, I'd rather it stayed lmao

  • Atleast in RPD they have some loops and interactable parts for survivor and killer, if they split it in half it would be a great map. Gideon's though? Worst map easily for me, it is so aggravating not being able to do anything as killer besides play pallet eating simulator and being hard to play for movement killers

  • @Caruto_san said:

Dexter Morgan as a survivor would be an amazing license to have in DBD. He wouldn't be a killer though because that wouldn't make sense with the code. One Survivor perk i was thinking about was one time during the trial (maybe after completing certain requirements) you'll get a 10% haste speed near the killer and can tranquilize (stun) them for 5 seconds. Can only do it once per trial but I thought it would be an awesome ability to save a friend or punish killers if they are running the tunneling/facecamping meta.

I'd love Dexter as a survivor, I loved the series and I'm really enjoying the newest season

I disagree with the Deathslinger thing. It's not that his strength was taken away, he is just so clunky and janky to play now. I played him once on the PTB and the slower animation feels so bad.

Personally, it doesn't feel as bad as some killers are. When I heard it felt super bad, I was imagining old plague, new pyramid Head, or twins, when in reality he just plays similar to huntress now, it doesn't feel as clunky as I thought it would

  • @GannTM said:

Have you played her since her nerf? Did you just look at the 5.3.0 patch notes and come to the conclusion that Spirit was dead without giving her a shot? You all just completely dropped her.

This is making me sad because ever since 5.3.0 came out (which has almost been 2 months), I have only ran into only 4 Spirits. 3 of the games were very fun (the one unfun game was a Spirit on RPD who barely used her power so typical RPD match). I’d really like to see her more often because she’s very fun to go against now so if you did enjoy playing as her before but dropped her because she was given counterplay, please give her a shot at the very least.

So many changes being done now basically boil down to thing being unfun, being changed to be just as strong but require more skill, people don't like that they can be outplayed, they say killer has been gutted, cycle etc. Spirit is so much more fun to play and face now and it sucks that the one thing all she needed to be better was added and people hate it because they can't stand still and win chase.

Same goes for deathslinger imo, I've been playing a lot with him and he feels just as strong and oppressive, he just requires flicking and aiming skill, something he didn't really need before with his quick instant shots.

  • @Wraithy234 said:

"Acceptable" in that you are always considered bad and a no-skill when you can't loop. As a survivor I can do basically anything besides looping, and I do get called bad all the time because "other things require no skill".

Are there really no other skills involved in this game?

Well because looping technically is the most skillful part of survivor. Holding m1 on gens? Doesn't take much skill. Hiding and letting your team die? Not loads of skill. Unhooking, healing, etc. isn't super skillful either. If you can do the objective and heal, etc, you aren't bad, but if you go down in chases super fast without using all the pallets then yeah, you aren't super good

  • @Dehitay said:

Did the devs ever explain the reasoning between why Hex: Pentimento can't be reused on the same totems but Boons can be reused endlessly? Considering which side is more punished by spending time, it seems like it would be the other way around if anything. I can't really figure out what their logic was with this one.

The difference is pentimento really ISN'T a waste of time. It is a map-wide effect instantly, it is so fast you can do it midchase and not lose like any distance, but boons require the survivor to leave their gen, and go apply it. If a survivor even does this twice, that is 28 seconds wasted not counting travel time. The time wasted for a killer to do a pentimento is just BOOP that is it. Not to mention if the survivor wants to get rid of the rekindled totem, it takes time to do it again. Survivor stuff has always been time sinks, while killer is instant.

You can get 2+ kills every game as Bubba i guess he's perfect killer

It isn't like they want 4ks to be impossible and a 2k happens every match, they want people to be more ok with getting a 2k, with a 0k or a 4k being the outliers and the stomps. A killer getting a 4k every single match means they are extremely powerful, just like when people say survivors are op when they get 0k

  • Silly when people say they don't listen when it takes 1 second to look at like, any patch and see it lol

When it comes to "complain about the killer you don't like," the forum has a pretty high success record.

Ironically, they weren't driven by the forums, this is one of the blatantly false things ever. It takes one look at the forums to see the killer bias.

Flashlights are not the game’s weakest items. On contrary they’re the strongest. No other item has the ability to disable a killer. Removing Hags and The artists traps. Light burning the nurse and wraith. Saving survivors while they’re carried.

on top of being annoying, they’re a counter to all killers during a chase and should be controlled to avoid abuse by clicky swf’s

This has got to be bait of the highest order. If they hurt you this hard then you are just bad, like objectively

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/297313/we-100-need-built-in-anti-tunnel

    Sigh.

    Okay.

Let me see if I can explain this.

'Tunneling' doesn't exist. What you are describing is just the meta.

The way this game works, for the most part (excepting endgame builds etc.) is by The Rule of 3. If only 3 survivors remain alive by the time 3 gens are done, the killer usually gets at least a 3k.

If there are more than 3 survivors alive at 3 gens, the killer usually gets a 0-1k. DbD, by it's very nature, is snowbally.

Once you get into even intermediate MMRs, you'll see that trying to 2 hook everyone before killing is a near guaranteed way to get teabagged all the way to the exit by 4 survivors. The killer absolutely has to try to delete someone as soon as possible, so that they don't just get bum-rushed on the final gens and can effectively contest the gates. And when a chance comes to down someone - they need to take it.

    Now, as per your case:

    • Why are you complaining about killers, when it was one of your own teammates that did you dirty? The killer was doing what they should do. I'd probably have given you a break if you had a silly/trolly teammate - but I'm under no obligation whatsoever to do so.
    • 'Built in anti-tunnel' would be ridiculous. You'd have to substantially increase gen times or buff the pants off almost every killer in the game to compensate. Again, if 4 survivors are alive on the last few gens, you've lost.
    • If you are worried about being tunneled, you have multiple anti-tunnel perks at your disposal.
    • If a killer is able to follow you for 12 seconds after an unhook, you've been massively outplayed.

I get that you had a frustrating match, but again - one of your teammates let you down. Complain about that, if you have to complain about something.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2668869#Comment_2668869

    Whatever happened to Sluzzy?

Haven't seen her since a red shut down one of her threads.

Ok but also a built in tunnel wouldn't be ridiculous and you wouldn't need to harshly nerf gen times either, most anti slugging, tunneling, and camping things anyways get countered by just, not doing that so hard lmao. If you don't like needing to run 4 gen slowdown, then don't tell others they have to run 4 perks to counter killer plays. That being said, if you tell them to run said second chance perks, don't be mad that it is all that is used.

  • @FreshCoal said:

Either make decisive strike basekit or something because the amount of killers that just turbo-tunnel and follow you for 12 seconds after an unhook for a free kill is getting on my nerve. Just played a game where the same teammate farmed me twice and I went from a 1 and a half minute chase for the first hook only to have the killer get the second and third hook stage after 30 seconds. WE NEED BUILT IN ANTI-TUNNEL.

I think the best option for this would be some form of BT being basekit and making it much shorter, and making the survivor with it active lose collision. DS doesn't really need to be basekit, BT feels like the most reasonable one because honestly you should be going for the unhooker anyways.

  • @Johann84 said:

This game is survivor sided, the only fun side to play is survivor. Where you can do mistakes and get away with it. Killers do 1 mistake and its game over. With the introduction of boon totems its almost impossible to win as killer. Hit validation is an insult where u get the hit but it does not even register. Even low rank survivors have an easy time to win. GG Behavior you have ######### up your game

How long have you been playing

  • @BowlofTofu said:

It's always the same thing constantly.

Groups of 4, all coordinating, gen rushing, and flash light clicking. It's non stop every game.

Everyone has decisive. Everyone had borrowed time. Everyone is bringing toolkits or medkits. Boons are constantly going off.

Like, im sorry to ######### and moan. But I use to usually get at least 2 or 3, even 4 kills a game. But after all these boons came out, and everyone always using the same damn perks I can't keep up with it.

Whose idea was it to have a boom that gave everyone Unbreakable? I can't even slug if there's a boom out now cause oh they're back up and now I have to find the Totem and nope there goes another gen.

Honestly, I just had a game where I got my first down and two gens popped at once. I had just been there, they weren't close to done but when I leave for ten seconds they're all over them like flies.

I'm just getting sick of it. Like im being punished for wanting to play and have fun but I'm always stressed out when I'm the killer.

Playing survivor on the other hand, feels incredibly broken and boring. There's so many ways to heal up and get going again, places to hide right, so many pallets to stun the killer with and all I can think about is...

The Devs have given killers the biggest 'F' off in any game. Balanced? No, everything is sided for the Survivors now that it's not even remotely fair.

Like, how am I supposed to get rid of 4 boon totems, which the last game had, find them, protect my gens, and stop them all at once?

I'm not. I'm supposed to roll over play dead and let the SWF groups call me a #########, loser, tell me I suck all of that all the damn time.

So you used to stomp matches, and now you get either draws or losses? That means you are actually going against people what your skill level should be and don't like that you don't stomp babies anymore, you are the baby getting stomped

This is me also. As a Killer, if I get a good amount of Bloodpoints, then I don't care if everyone escapes. Because survivor bloodpoints are so low, I only feel like it's a win if I escape.

yeah for survivor an escape is a win, but as killer while i define a 3k+ as a win, even a 1k gives great BP and a loss is still learning experience for whatever killer i'm playing

  • @Shenlong1904 said:

Both the forums and the subreddit always were quite killer sided, treating killers like the underdogs while survivors as the big bad villain, but recently this has been worst than ever.

These forums have mostly become an echo chamber for killers who want the game to be shaped around them.

Like yes, I understand that this game is survivor sided, meaning that if both sides try their hardest and play almost perfectly, the survivors will mostly win.

But that doesnt mean yall can just act as if people who play survivor are the scum of the earth.

And holy hell, if the devs really decide to follow the general consensus of the forums, all matches would be a 4K at 5 gens.

The way some of yall get so offended by somebody's virtual avatar crouches over and over again.

Even I have gotten quite stressed because of this game, but I have never, never, never put blame on the survivors or the devs, because, as you so often repeat, "They bought the game, they play how they want"

Recently, almost every post has a variation of "survivor easy and no stress, so survivor players are babies. Killer hard and have stress, so killer players are oppressed".

If killer is so hard, then go play survivor and try it out. If you say it's easy and stress free, there are three things that could make you say that. 1.Low MMR for the skills you have 2.You stress yourself when playing killer. 3. You're lying.

Many times, when you're having a stressful time playing a game, all you need to do is relax and remember, its just a game, and the results don't matter.

But it seems that too many of you have put hours into getting better, and feel you deserve results, and therefore if you dont get those results, you'll feel cheated, which causes you to stress.

Yes, sometimes the game really is unfair, or atleast feels very unfair. But most of this unfairness is created by your expectations.

Hell, for some time i had quit DBD when i had around 700 hours in the game. Because I thought I deserved to win almost every match. And that simply wasn't true.

I play around 70% killer and 30% survivor if it matters.

    Alright, rant over

I remember when the joke back a couple of years ago was always survivor entitlement and that killers were usually the bigger person, taking more skill, and being more humble but man has that taken a turn.

It sucks because the big thing killer players used to always say, both sides really, was to rewatch your matches and try to improve. Even during a time when the game was way more sided to survivors trying to improve was what you wanted. Now if you lose, it couldn't possibly be your own fault, it was the dirty 4 man comp team, when in reality it was because you didn't pressure and just played poorly. That isn't a mindset anymore.

It is so sad the community praises killer mains like Otz, Ohtofu, Dowsey etc. and talk about how good they are at the game, but then when they say "the game isn't THAT lopsided, you can be good if you just improve" oh suddenly now their opinion isn't viable anymore lmao.

Not to mention that a majority of the "killer mains" on the forums or subreddit will complain about the game being horrible and impossible, and then when you ask how long they play, it is almost always a newer player lol

  • I was gonna say "in before the new killer players get mad and say camping is a strategy and the only way to win" but I was too late

Everyone is playing DH/DS, even at a really low MMR : on some killers, i often leave 3 survivors escape as i have pity... loosing a ton of MMR and everyone has DH/DS/BT etc...

I have seen some of the Otz's stream... with the trapper he was facing baby survivors.

I'm pretty sure he is de-ranking off stream on the weakest killers to give some entertainment and variety to his streams. No one would look someone camping/tunneling to win or someone loosing every trials with 3 hooks only.

He plays around 8 hours a day where his rule is to not throw the game, he tries to get as many kills as he can get and doesn't give exit game escapes since that would lower his MMR, he has specifically said he plays this way so people don't accuse him of deranking, he is proving he isn't playing with babies and his mmr should be extremely high on nearly on killers.

Yesterday Otzdarva made a stream when he tried to prove this point.

So he took every killer, he used really good perks and god tier addons and played.

He obliterated every lobby (most of the time, it was with 4 gens left). Of course sometimes survivors were'nt that strong, but still they at least played DS/DH.

As a killer main (95%/5% killer/survivor). I do not know what to think about ? Am I delusional to think that survivors have advantages over the killer ? But my POV is biaised by the fact I only played killer since I started plyaing (around 200h)

I would like to know what do you think about this ? Does it prove that the game is not survivor sided ? What is your POV on that ? Please also let know other people which role you main !

No, what otz proved is that when you are ACTUALLY good at the game, you will do good against ACTUALLY good survivors, but most "killer mains" now act like improving and getting better isn't reasonable, and act like you are lying when you say you don't feel horrible playing killer.

Otz has always said that you shouldn't just blame survivors for your loss, you should want to look at your own improvement, he even made another recent video talking about it. Play both sides, learn the game, and want to get better, stop blaming other stuff for your loss when good killer players show it isn't always a stomp.

These new players are the louder majority acting like survivors are so op broken when you only play one side and still have a lot to improve on.

    Specific: T-Bagging

What is worse than a sore loser? A sore winner. As Killer you can't do anything to stop them from leaving. In a few cases the overestimate and get caught, but that good feeling does not erase the other times when they just tease you.

I read many times, that you can just ignore it or don't go to the exit gates. If ignoring it would help, there would not be daily complains about it. And if you don't go to the exit gates, you have to stand somewhere waiting until they leave, a complete time waste.

I am proposing to change that, so you can't crouch at the exit gates and in an area around it, because everybody knows, survivor will just find a way to exploit it.

Nobody would be harmed. It has only positive aspects.

me angy they crouch, devs pls fix bad game

  • Noed isn't even that powerful, but it has easily become the hardest crutch perk, and saying "do bones" is as bad as survivors saying "do boons" to the killer. New killer players think the game is impossible and survivors are OP but then chase one survivor all game and act good when their noed goes off.

Noed could do the literal same effect but it should be made to be based off of tokens similar to BBQ imo, so you play the game normal and hook each survivor once, and get rewarded with the power of noed, and it can still be done by totems. Killer has to earn it, and gets a large advantage.

The gateway power reward is very underwhelming since it requires from player to be extremely precised with his controled chains. The two buffs will make him his power feel way more rewarding:

    • Controlled chains projectile (gateway) initially movement speed buff from 10m/s to 12m/s.
    • Controlled Chains no longer breaks immedietely from the environment, Instead it takes now 0.4 seconds to break it. (Still faster than wasting one second per chain in order to break them)
    • In order to compensate his M2 buffs make Possesed Chains (From Chain Hunt) to no longer launch again if the survivor breaks them by the environment.

I've been a cenobite main since his release and I really think all he needs is either

    1) Environmental and pinhead breaks are just not possible (easiest option)

    or

    2) Environmental breaks take 0.5 seconds to break, and broken chains from the environment respawn AND shoot out without delay (it is ridiculous that they "respawn" to compensate, but then they take so long that they don't do anything to the survivor.

    Honest question

He doesn't feel like any different. Quickscoping is still possible, it is just not instant and you need to know how to flick, I guess people don't like that the oppressive killer takes slightly more skill to use. The TR nerf sucks but honestly throw on starstruck and he is super scary

Twins is a failed concept and since they cant get rid of them because people paid money they went with the second option, let the dust settle over them in a way almost noone plays them.

Im all for that, pity they cant delete them from the game.

They aren't even a failed concept tho, how are they a failed concept? If they just let you switch during fatigues to remove all the waiting, it would not only encourage hooking instead of slugging, but make them feel way better as well.

Genuinely curious why you think they should be deleted because they are pretty unique and not completely oppressive compared to other killers
