Well, you have this post. What do you think is going to happen if everyone is going to play like you suggest. We are going to see ######### tons of posts about crying for tunneling / camping fix. Just creating a circle here...
As long as people see killers arent helpful and the game isnt as unbalanced as they shout, then I'll be happy. If it means people actually start playing the game good, then so be it

I think you mean one is targeting killers and the other is targeting survivors... even less of an issue when it's so specific that you have to say only targeting certain survivors of color. If you put both of them on a scale, the amount of toxicity that survivors have towards killers is insurmountably greater than the chance that your next killer is a bigoted racist.
Literally turned a topic of racism in a gaming community into a Us vs Them comment lmao stop huffing so much copium

So you are basically telling me to tunnel / camp more?
I bet that will get some fun responses in endgame chat...
Oh no, I will get mean comments in a pvp game :((
Play to win, and you will win. Play like a toy, get treated like one. Most PVP games work like this, don't know why dbd is suddenly different

People are playing to win though. They are camping and tunneling. And many many survivors are demanding punishment or stops to said tactics which would mean killers can't even do that anymore.
Most don't really enjoy tunneling and camping. They do it because that's how you have to play to win. Most, including survivors, don't see that as a great design. People have been saying for months that you pretty much have to play dirty now to win. But we still get several threads demanding camp and tunnel nerfs. We had multiple threads a week ago asking for punishments for camping. And many more posts saying how happy survivors are to tbag and harrass a killer for camping or tunneling. Hell I've seen an entire major streamer throw a fit about it.
There is nothing toxic about camping or tunneling for the win. Period.
BTW camping and tunneling won't get removed because it was already said by the devs to be part of the game. What people don't like is Hard tunneling and face camping. Proxy camping and tunneling when it is necessary is fine, but they aren't the only possible way to win the game either. Most of the time, especially early game, it is much more important to spread pressure and hook states, then play more mean late game or when people start gettting closer to death. If people are playing to win constantly and playing good, I promise there would be less "survivor sided" posts and comments. People are acting like the game is impossible to win as killer when it isn't that way at all, and if it is for you, then it is objectively a skill issue.
You are right, if you need to proxy camp or tunnel someone for the win, do it. If you are complaining about not winning, then play to win. After Otz did his large test of killer matches to see if the game is survivor sided, or Scott Jund now making videos talking about killer strength, it turns out the game is more balanced than people like to admit, it just takes more skill and practice, something people don't like.
-
I'll admit healing can be broken but it has always been broken, don't know why people act surprised at it now. Besides that, DH validation isn't a bad thing and it never was the broken part of dead hard. Again, dead hard has always been strong lol validation is just making the servers more secure, the reason dead hard was op was because of the use of it for distance.
Besides that, if we are saying "broken" as in strong, NOED is still one of the most busted killer perks and most gen perks when used aggressively are still just as strong.

Except survivors have no reason to complain they got broken perks like there's no tomorrow and their main problem of tunneling and camping is their own fault at the moment.
Killers also have broken perks and addons and strong ways of playing. Can literally say the same thing to survivor as well lmaoo

If they play to win then survivors abuse them with clicky tbags and insults post game for not letting them win. Many killers do not wish to put up with the one sided abuse and just don't play now.
If you are playing to win as killer, the game isn't impossible and you can bully just as much as survivors do. The only place I can think about the mindset of "I cant ever win as killer" coming from is new players or people who seemingly have never played online games before. Killer can be just as toxic, and survivors can also play nice, stop with the Us vs Them stuff lmao

Usually because a lot killer players play to have fun and playing full mean killer isn't the idea of fun for them, wich to be honest is the main idea of a game.
Fully agree and can accept that concept but still, it is a pvp game and to not expect the other side to also play nice is just going into it wrong. A casual game mode could help but let's be honest the toxic players would just play that too lol

I have huge issue with flashlight macros / scollwheels. That is something about actual health, but black mask used to camp Claudette? That is 100% about someone's feeling and I simply don't care about that. It's not like they can't do it anymore, they will just look different while doing it.
how are scrollwheels and macros for flashlights a health issue to the game lmao

Currently trickster is 4.4 m/s with a 24 metre terror radius. I feel like he's quite powerless at high loops due to his slow speed, good survivors can loop him for ages. Since he has a lullaby of 40 metres it doesn't help that he has a lower terror radius, in fact it makes him worse because infectious fright is less useful on him. I think that he'd be much better as a 4.6 m/s, 32 metre terror radius killer. Thoughts?
PS: I sent it before finishing the last option so imagine it says he'd be too strong.
the way I see it, if they were built to be 4.4 and should use their power more than m1, than making them 115 just backpedaling and showing you didn't know how to make a killer. I think with some changes to his power he could be great and fun, but just making him 115 would keep how boring he is, but also make his one counterplay less useful

Between Busted loops, Insane Number of pallets, Meta survivor perks, Boon totems, Skill based Matchmaking, Pallet Validation and now Deadhard validation Killer is absolutely a void where fun just goes to die. Unless your ready to bust out the most boring meta killer builds and sweat your ass off, Killer is just BEYOND unfun right now. You can't even really just play a "chill" game of dbd where you don't care if you win or lose cause you'll probably get matched with a Tryhard SWF group whose soul purpose is to make the next 10 minutes of your life as miserable as possible.
honestly I don't know why killers face a penalty for DC'ing when Survivors are playing to MAKE Killers DC. Killers have to bite the bullet and put up with toxic games or face time outs. MEANWHILE when something doesn't go a survivors way they can easily just kill themselves on hook and get into the next lobby without hassle.
the final nail in the coffin for me is this deadhard "FIX" im happy for all the survivors that a once broken perk now functions "properly" now but from the killers POV its the biggest crock of bull imaginable. re-read everything I wrote from my first paragraph about how many advantages halfway decent survivors have, but imagine putting up with all that when chasing a survivor only for you to land a successful hit and then watch them eat it and power on. There's no more mind games anymore where the killer could try and bait out the dead hard. Instead the survivor just saves it for when the killer swings and tanks a free hit.
I can't take it anymore with this game.
I really think I'm at my wits end.
This exact same post can be said about survivor as well. Like chill out lmao if you aren't having fun take a break, but both sides can be strong and win

You just assume why they are doing it...
One is equiping a free skin and playing a videogame and one is doing some action to piss off other player.
Main point is that it's both about feelings. So I don't really get why treat it differently. Well, I am from Czech republic, we don't give a ######### about racism. We have a lot of racist jokes tho...
So what they removed black mask? If I want to be racist, I am going to be racist, not saying I am. It will just get replaced with something else. Let's say that meaning will get used by paid skin, will you remove it too? Guess what, it will be replaced by other skin.
We can switch it and play Pretty Lady Bubba while focusing only female characters, hey let's make it sexist thing...
This is just pointless change about someone's feeling. If someone wants to be toxic, they will be toxic. It is what it is.
Well sweet, if you want to be a racist dickhead you still can, you just have one less of a thing to do it with. It is only a positive change and if you are mad at it, you are probably someone that used it negatively.

Yeah. Just another game where most gens are done in 5 minutes, and I can't play long enough to do much. What I did do however was negated by free healing for all. My huntress couldn't keep up. Injure. Heal. Injure. Heal. All game.
Then you down someone and o look insta heal into a dead hard.
It's honestly laughable. 4 Gens done in 5 minutes and no toolboxes either. My biggest issue was keeping them hurt. Heal heal heal
Between speedboosts, instaheals, deadhards, and 100 pallets on every map this game is literally designed for swfs to hammer you into the dirt and your supposed to just take it.
Snuff the boon? Nah relight it. Down someone? Nah for the people or insta medkits. When all 5 gens are done and you struggle to get 3 or 4 hooks......
These are the matches I'm having.
Why would you want to win? Why? To play even harder games where people are worse? Everyone knows high MMR is nothing but 4man swfs and cheaters.
I'll just kill 1 every match then. Focus on daily challenges and archives.
You guys can keep your high mmr crap. It's to much cushion for survivors. To many chances and coordinating for killers to stand any actual chance.
It's a pretty miserable experience. 😕
Look at your build and even theirs and you can see you just got outplayed. They aren't even using things to make CoH extra fast, without a medkit or a teammate it is still 16 seconds.
Can anybody accept when a loss is their own and work on improving lmao it is a pvp game, why do people expect to play and get easy wins constantly. I see nothing but skill issue in this post. Killer mains used to be respected for taking more skill than survivor, but now it appears we have become more entitled and whiny than survivors.

The multiple CoH issue kills me on every map, though. They set them up before touching gens, so I don't find them before the game starts in earnest, and I just have to deal with survivors healing at warp speed everywhere because there's no way to handle the boons.
Multiple Shadow Steps can be pretty insane too, but only on indoor maps.
I guess i just play different, I always see that as a positive thing for me, it means in the first 20 seconds of the match people were doing boons instead of gens.

I find I usually don't have issues dealing with one boon, but when there's several boons across the map, or the survivors bring a map offering with a boon spot that can be abused, I'm just super screwed and I can't keep up. (Unless I'm Vommy Mommy, then everything's coolsies.) But I can't sacrifice half of my perks on the chance that survivors are going to send me to RCPD and play a hell game.
eh then those aren't really boon problems, those are just bad game design problems. Bad maps will be bad maps

There's slowdown perks, there's chase perks, there's lethality perks, there's info perks. I've experimented with anti-boon perks, but I just don't have the freedom to give up half my build for perks that will be gone within two minutes anyway.
and that is totally fine, I'm not saying that this is the only way to deal with boons, just a pretty standard and easy way. I honestly play like I always do, I just have my gen defense and like some slowdown and I still do fine, it is all about practice.

You won't hook anyone tho because they all just run to the boon and heal it's hard to explain unless you played vs it
Let me put it like this if you played a 4.4 killer like hag or DS or trickster vs me and my squad we would always have a boon you would never be able to snuff them all
How is that so hard to imagine
It isn't hard to imagine lmao I've been a killer main for 4 and some years. I guarantee they aren't healing in a nanosecond, because so far the fastest that is capable is close to 4 seconds and that is only with an entire build dedicated to healing.
If you are playing a killer like Deathslinger or Trickster, than your power is based around getting quick downs. Boons should especially not be a huge problem to those killers, since your playstyle tends to be chasing a survivor until they are downed, not hit and run. With Hag, you are a strong defense killer and while they will be able to heal after each hit, your defense will be hard to break if you have a good web perimeter set up.
Not hard to imagine, I'm fulling getting what you are saying lmao it just sounds like a newer player having struggles. If you'd like to drop some gameplay of yours I'm totally willing to watch and give pointers. Even drop your hours or anything and I can help

Expect for the fact that there's one killer and 3 booners they just rotate placing it and 2-3 people are always on gens come on man that wasn't that hard to think about.
So in this scenario are you just afk or something? Usually in a match, atleast one survivor at minimum should constantly be pressured, either by being chased or hooked. If someone is hooked, then that should be 2 people pressured (either by you chasing another, or another survivor needing to go to the hook). If someone is also booning during all of this, it is just 1 extra person not doing gens, even if it is for a short time. Learn how to pressure and improve in the game, rewatching your matches can help.
-
@Laluzi said:
Survivors have way more perk slots to dedicate to managing totems than killers do. A survivor running an anti-totem perk dedicates 1/16 of the survivor team's resources to totem management. A killer running an anti-totem perk dedicates 1/4 of their resources to it. That's not a good equivalence when those perk slots were already highly needed for other things.
Add in that every single anti-boon perk is a hex and can be removed, while boons can only be removed by killing the survivor who has them, and yeah.
Even then, a killer does not need 4 gen slowdown to do good, it is why most builds also have 1 or 2 info perks. Replace those with anti boon perks since killers act like they are impossible to deal with, and they arent anymore. Loads of builds have come out to be heavy anti boon perks.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Even killer's perks that effect boons are countered/destroyed by boons. The killer's counter only lasts as long as it takes for survivors to find the hex, then your without perks and survivors have full use.
I am quite aware, but even making one survivor spend 56 seconds on boons is huge slowdown and if you aren't taking advantage of it then you need to rewatch some matches and see where you are making mistakes.
-
@LoneSlinger said:
Yeah I hate to say this but then you haven't ran into a 4 man with 3 coh repeatedly booning the upstairs macmillan totem or the rpd library totem cause those both take at least 30-50 secs to get to and are a huge waste of time
If they take 30-50 seconds to get too, they take that same time and more to reach as a survivor.
Also again, if there are 3 people doing boons, you are getting a lot of free pressure and should take advantage of it. Even on those ######### maps, you can most definitely turn the game around if you are good

Blessing a hex normally takes 28 seconds (wiki lies)
Thrill has a 50% speed penalty so kt doesn't add time to totems but slows survivors cleansing them down
Which means that blessing a hex with thrill at 5 stacks takes 56 seconds.
So yes thrill extremly discourages blessing hexes
Are you sure it is 28 seconds? BHVR themselves said it was 24 unless I'm misremembering.
Even so, like you said it is HUGE slowdown if they want to bless, running anti boon stuff either means they will stick to gens instead of doing boons but your hexes stay up, they will do boons and give you a huge advantage, or they will cleanse and you lose your hexes but they still waste loads of time and if you have pentimento you get value.
People act like killer has no control with killer can realistically put survivors into a lot of lose lose situations.
-
@AngyKiller said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2727311#Comment_2727311
But the thing is; Survivors don't HAVE to cleanse. They can just apply Boon over the Hex. Boom; no more Hex, no cleansing happened, no Penti can be applied.
That's one of my biggest complaints out of two:
- Survivors literally can override Hexes without Cleansing. This means Boons are 'Stronger' than Hexes because they erase Hexes. This also hard counters Penti; no Cleanse, no Penti.
- Killers Snuff totems, which just makes them Dull again. Not Cleansed. And No Cleansed; no Penti.
Yeah but if they want to bless over a hex, it takes 24 seconds. Combine with thrill and even if they get rid of thrill first, that blessing takes 36 seconds.
Also again loads of builds incentivise cleansing instead of blessing. If you have penti and something else but they aren't ever cleansing, may as well count that as penti doing something, they are wasting time doing so many boons or blessing hexes. If you just run pentimento and nothing else, don't know why it is surprising they aren't cleansing. If boons didn't exist, they wouldn't cleanse either. Atleast with boons they are doing SOMETHING else other than gens.
-

The logic behind 'The Survivors spent 14 seconds Booning a totem' is wrong, BTW.
Because the Killer has to spend time finding and Snuffing the totem. So the Survivors did not actually lose time, because the Killer did not gain that time to hunt them down, as he loses time to Snuffing.
The killer also doesn't take 14 seconds to snuff and finding boons are easy.
If you go out of your way to find boons instead of chasing survivors you are just playing wrong, you should just play normal and take care of boons as you come across them, it is pretty effective and like, no time is wasted. If a survivor even does 3 boons, that is almost half a gen of time. Not to mention again that survivors have to leave gens and find totems too, while killers hear them blaringly loud and can also just, keep playing the game if you need to.
-
@AngyKiller said:
The problem being that Survivors set the pace of the game, and the current meta means Killers have to claw for every second of the match just to kill, never mind having to find that CoH Boon that's giving 3.5 second heals.
On top of that, Hex: Penti was dropped just after Boons, and it's literally the only perk in the game I think of that gets countered by ignoring it. Let me explain:
- Penti cannot be applied if Survivors never Cleanse. Meaning, if Survivors ignore totems, the Killer can NEVER APPLY PENTI.
- Survivors can apply Boons without Cleansing. Meaning, again; Penti can never be applied.
- Survivors can apply Boons OVER Hex totems. Meaning they never have to Cleanse. Meaning Penti can never be applied.
- Killers can Snuff totems, which does not CLEANSE totems. Which means they can't even Snuff a totem, and then apply Penti.
- Unlike Hexes, which are 1 and done (for the most part), Boons can be reapplied forever. A Killer can NEVER shut down a Boon permanently.
- Most Hexes aren't even worth the 1-and-done Hex status they have. Every Boon is. Yet, again; Boons can be reapplied. Because screw Killers.
So this is why I hate Boons: They are stronger than Hexes. They override Hexes. Killers don't have the time to cleanse then repeatedly. And certain perks (cough Penti cough) Show how glaringly weak Hexes are compared to Boons.
Meaning the devs literally took a Killer mechanic, made it 10 times more powerful, then gave it to Survivors.
I don't want to scream the tired old 'Devs have a Survivor bias', but either this is a bias, or the devs have literally 0 idea how their game functions any more. It's one or the other; bias, or lack of awareness.
Because no one who has any clue how DBD functions would have said 'Hey! You know what Killers need? You know, the people asking for SURVIVORS to have a time sink because gen speeds can go under 4 minutes? A time sink of their own! Based off a Killer power that we will horribly unbalance before giving it to Survivors, just to ensure Killers are forced to do this time sink! Survivors can chose to not cleanse, but if Killers don't Snuff Circle of OP; they will not win! Oh yeah; and while we're giving Survivors Hexes (but better); why don't we allow them to apply these better effects as many times as they want! Am I brilliant or what?'
I wouldn't really say boons are stronger than hexes, seeing as a good ruin and a killer that is competent can still change a match in a huge way, and killers don't have to even interact with a totem to get the map-wide, instant effects.
Also I thought everyone came to an agreement that Pentimento was a good perk, you just shouldn't use it by itself. Combine it with plaything or even thrill, anything that encourages cleansing, and I can usually get huge value. Also while doing one boon once isn't that huge of a time sink, if people keep blessing repeatedly the time does add up.
I just think saying boons are a killer mechanic but 10 times as powerful is false seeing as killer hexes can still have game-changing or game-ending effects, while only really CoH is good out of all the boons. That doesn't mean Boons are OP, it means healing speeds are busted, and I don't know how long you've played for but healing speeds have been busted for a long time, now people just really see why that is.
-

You're really not one to talk though. You'll acknowledge how busted old OOO, and MoM was. But not how busted boons are(specifically COH) . Because it keeps people off gens for a whole 14 seconds...Wow.
The mechanic is ok. The implementation is piss poor. In the way that even snuffing them does nothing but takes them away temporarily.
What's worse then you can't actually do anything to deactivate them like hexs ? They provide pretty busted perks. In the form of GROUP self healing on top of 100 % speed..Which means it's self care, WGLF, and we'll make it all in once.
If you don't see a problem with that. I don't know what to tell you.
I personally am fine with boons, while 14 seconds isn't a lot, doing it even a couple times stacks up, including travel time when not on gens.
That doesn't mean CoH is fine though but it is more of a factor of healing being ridiculous, and it always has been. I think if healing got adjusted it would be fine. In terms of them not being destroyed upon being snuffed, I think that would make them really weak and people would go back to the usual 4 meta perks they use. After playing for 4 and some years I'm happy they have something incentive to do a side objective now.
Also I always thought people comparing them to hexes were funny when the only comparison they have is being on totems. Hexes are map wide effects that are activated instantly and provide (usually) strong effects that the killer has access too without actually having to interact in any way. It is why Ruin is so good. Boons on the other hand only effect a limited radius and requires the survivor to find the totem and apply it, and while they can reapply it even after the killer snuffs it, it is time wasted if they repeatedly do it.
Again I totally understand the hate of CoH and healing does need touched, but no other boon is really mind-numbingly broken. I don't think boons are a problem, just already existing bad designs.

100% agree. I'm still a defender of boons, they were a healthy addition that is more of a side objective for survivor than it ever will be for killer.
People give examples like RPD or Midwich but are those boon problems or bad map design? I think the main problem with boons is the fact that they highlight bad designs brighter. CoH isn't really op, but healing is MORE op with it, shadowstep isnt op, but bad maps make it so

I see that viewpoint though, I usually see it more as a side objective for the survivor. That is more what it is like after all, especially since it takes time for them to do it, and I can either ignore them or stomp them fast.
Just trying to give some ideas to people who want to worry less about them, I've been using thrill a lot and it is hilarious the amount of survivors that just stop doing boons.

I don't get it. She sucks so bad. Against a team she's useless bc she's to slow. Any survivor knows to simply pop her traps and shift w, and for some God awful reason the devs thought it was a good idea to be able to destroy her traps with flashlights. So dumb. It's literally all she can do that's good. Why counter? She can't chase.
Ever try using a basement hag? Two survivors can just yolo save. One can pop her proximity traps while the other is distracting her, trade hook using borrowed. And the other can simply bodyblock the hurt survivor and the free rocket boost makes so much distance on hag they will get away.
You can trade hook her easily and just do gens.
She's to slow to chase. Any team or multiple survivors in pairs can destroy her. She has to many counters for the lack of chase speed to be worth it.
I cant seem to understand how she's useful. You can trade hooks sure, but if the others just do gens and trade off hooks then once the gens are done just use your second chance perks to save and out the door you all go
Her lack of chase potential is what kills her. Borrowed, sburst, lithe, any of those will create so much distance at end game it's a free escape across the map.
she is a noob stomper that also has a high skill ceiling. Watch some gameplay of good hags and it can be super hard to face her without comp-level communication. Some killers take more practice than others.

Ruin got nerfed because everyone was using it and it was too strong.
But dead hard? A Perk that gives you distance to a vault or just denies the down gets buffed instead of nerfed. Since hit validation is in this game I can't play one game where not at least 1 person has dead hard. It's more close to 2-3 survivors every round. So here is my question.
When ruin got nerfed because it was overused and was too strong when is it dead hards turn?
was ruin even nerfed really? It only slowed down the game against newer players and was still a hex that could be destroyed. Now it provides strong gen regression and pressure, while also requiring the killer to actually pressure and use the strength of it. It is pretty balanced AND pretty strong now.

I've seen all kinds of developers and the way they deal with their community from playing many different online games in the past but BHVR really takes the cake when it comes to ignoring its own playerbase. I don't even see them come to the forums anymore, it's just the mods who seem to perform damage control whenever threads get out of control but that's it.
It's extremely obvious that the game is in an abyssmal state right now (with boon totems/CoH being the worst offender) and yet we didn't get a single change to address this issue when The Artist came out. You'd expect at least SOMETHING after 3 months.
It's just regular business as always, ignoring killers and cashing in on gullible folks who buy this game on a whim just to drop it later anyway since the new player experience is absolutely horrendous. I've seen so many killers recently (on the forums and on YouTube) who picked up the game after being begged to try it just to be massively disappointed. MMR is flatout not working, another great issue which has persisted how long now since its introduction? Six months?
For those who decide to endure the painful learning curve this game has they still arrive at the same conclusion they had at the very beginning: this game is neither fun nor balanced. If you try to catch any of the devs on Twitch they will lock themselves behind chat settings which require your account to be verified just to make any contact with them even harder. And the occasional community streams with their Q&A segments feature cherrypicking at its worst when it comes to answering actual questions relevant to the health of the game.
Just watch as the devs will ignore this thread, too. Their twitter only exists to post memes anyway, not even once have they responded to REAL questions from the community. The regular art retweets are nice and all but they do NOT solve the issues this game has.
If I went to the subreddit or forums to read feedback and it was posts like "noed basekit", "killer is impossible", "killer isn't impossible", "ds basekit", etc I would maybe not listen as much either and instead stick with the players that know what they are talking about.
also they have definitely proved they listen and have implemented changes nearly exactly how we asked.

I just picked up dead by daylight maybe 8ish days ago for free on Epic, at first I was playing survivor with my friends but I found it to be kinda easy, don't get me wrong when I was against very good or very lucky killers I got destroyed but most matches were very uneventful... so I got bored and started playing as killer. That was a mistake, I was immediately curb-stomped by nearly every survivor. Not only would the survivors out play me at every single turn they would also mock me and grief me while doing so. I have had matches where an entire team of survivors followed me around the entire match disabling every hook I tried to use, and 1 million and a half other infuriatingly embarrassing defeats.
After it became painfully clear to me that I needed to improve I began searching the internet for advice and, with the help of various different tips, tricks and Analysis videos done by an array of very high rank killers... I did end up getting much much better.
However, despite now winning at least a bit less then a quarter of my matches, sometimes even getting a clean sweep and killing every survivor... every single match felt like a complete war of attrition.
I'm supposed to be playing the role of a slasher style killer from a horror film but none of the survivors fear me, they just follow me around and grief me and mocked me the entire time.
The only way it becomes possible to win a match as killer is to spend hours upon hours upon hours of researching the meta and game play theory of this game, and then when you actually get into a match you have to perform perfectly... you can't make any mistakes, you have to be on high alert and have a thousand yard stare like you're suffering from crippling post-traumatic stress disorder.
Due to the idea if you lose even a single second of proper time management the survivors can pull ahead of you by a mile, for a killer to win they have to play near-perfectly and you're under huge pressure to perform at literally every single second, playing this game even when you win as killer becomes an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience, even when I kill all 4 survivors I feel worse than I did when the match started.
Winning at this game is like trying to win an argument against a psychopath, you can't truly win because the survivors aren't playing the game, they're playing YOU.... sure you killed them all but at what cost? Your mental health?
I'm making this post to explain how I feel and to explain my subjective experiences with the game in hopes that the devs may see this and, in the interest of making their own game less stressful to play... buff The Killers, all you would have to do to fix this problem is to give the killers a 2% speed boost in all of their animations.... or perhaps make it possible to kill survivors through more methods then just hooking them (it's very frustrating to hit the same survivor 4 to 8 times with a deadly weapon only for them to still be alive). There may be other solutions to this problem but as long as this problem persists I unfortunately can't enjoy playing your game... it stresses me out even when I win... winning as killer doesn't feel like winning it feels like you just barely survived.... Which is how someone escaping a killer should feel not the killer themselves.
I am convinced that if hell is a real place then every serial killer who's ever died is living out an experience identical to playing dead by daylight as a killer... Having to hunt down seemingly immortal people who no matter how many times you hit them with your hammer, knife, Axe or whatever just refuse to die and also spend the entire time mocking you is no doubt a killers truest hell.
This just in, player that hasn't even been playing for two weeks realizes the game takes skill, acts like it takes 1000's of hours to win but says they have won when they themselves don't have 1000's of hours, more at 6.
seriously though lol the people acting like this is facts are the exact people that just want the game easier, not more balanced. It is a PvP game with a skillset no other game really matches. Improve and get better, if you looked up long time killer players and advice I'm sure you saw the fact that they weren't acting like it was the most stressful game they have ever played, experience makes the game easier and no one ever said killer was easy, in a 1v4 game the 1 will always be harder. I don't know where this mindset of "you win every match and it is a piece of cake" came from.

But as soon as you bother 1 survivor on a gen, the other 3 are getting done. There is no pressuring gens against good teams.
yeah that is why you don't commit to a chase for 3 minutes

I've been on the Corrupt/Deadlock "milk bottle" I guess you could say for too long. Because what happens when I don't have those perks? The gens fly. Survivors spawn on gens, they do them, and by that time I've got 1 down max. So I'm basically starting the game at 2 gens. "But don't nerf gen speed! Survivors can't handle that! This is definitely a real statement!" Try playing above ash grade. You'll see what I mean with the gen speed.
At this point, survivors don't even need meta perks. They could bring 1 or 2, the essentials like BT. But against 80% of killers, it's easy as pie from start to finish. They aren't at threat of dying in the slightest, save for them screwing up or going against very specific killers. If they can't loop the killer for more than 20 seconds, that's fine. The gens will get done as soon as the game begins anyway, so they can afford to get downed like there's no tomorrow. 80 seconds: That's all it takes to get 2-3 gens done.
And Corrupt wasn't even enough slowdown, I kid you not. Killers are still humoring gen defence as a viable strategy against top level, but it just doesn't mean anything. You use hexes, they go down. You use Scourge hooks, you waste time walking to specific ones. You use Pop or Surge, your regression is undone in literally 10 seconds. So we started using Deadlock, because it's like Corrupt but for midgame. Now No Way Out is popular to run alongside them, because with that perk we actually get rewarded for hooking everyone, and the game isn't instantly decided once all the gens are done.
There's zero point in defending gens or trying to end chases quickly, because the gens fly no matter what. All there is is what I've just described: gen delay. Not regression, not "defence". Delay. It's the only viable strategy for killers, and when it's gone we're gone.
I am once again saying gen speeds aren't a problem, it is the lack of killers wanting to learn that the game is 1v4, not 1v1 and you need to pressure gens, as well as bad map design and killers not having any good gen regression as base kit. People just say gen speeds are too fast when they are not, it is the fact that survivors don't really need to do anything beside their objective if the killer isn't going to bother them

First of all, i am NOT against some solo buffs to bring them on par with SWF etc, i even want some buffs.
(with this i mean that i want information buffs for solos, nothing else)
But i keep seeing people crying for killer nerfs and hardcore survivor buffs just because they have bad experiences as solos.
More often then not they then blame the killers and act like the game is extremly unbalanced which is simply not the case.
The reason why solo is so hard is because of YOU or YOUR teammates.
Either YOU screw your mates over with sonethng or YOUR mates screw something over.
Most DBD players are really bad and most of them are playing solo which causes your games to have alot of survivors who just insta drop every pallet (even if the killer isnt even chasing them...) or you get survivors who dont do gens, dont go for unhooks, DC on first down and all this stupid stuff.
The thing is, while getting them in your team is extremly frustrating, you can only blame your team and not the killer or the game balance.
IF they would ,,balance" the game in a way one survivor is able to simple erase the tons of errors their mates made and is able to easily finish all the gens and totems by themselfs if needed (because of bad mates), how do you think is the killer supposed to have a chance?
Its a 1vs4.
Its a teamgame.
You have to work together to escape and if your team does bad plays, your whole team has to live with it.
You just shouldnt be able to easily do everything alone in a 1vs4 because this would just destroy the meaning of the game and the balance.
Did you ever won a match with a decent random team and was like ,,Damn we won, some things on our side should get nerfed so the other side can stand a chance."?
I never saw anyone saying something like that.
Its always someone instantly crying for buffs for their side or nerfs for the other side if they lose.
Also this isnt a us vs them, it goes BOTH ways so dont even try to start a war here now.
Where are you seeing these killer nerfs, the forums can barely handle health changes, don't even talk about killer nerfs, or else you are a dirty survivor main /s

Does it matter?
You shouldn't have to play specific killers just to have fun.
I literally don't play Killer, and haven't for years, because of how unfun and stressful it is.
If you havent played killer for years then how do you know it is so stressful and awful lol it seems like people just hate that one side is harder than the other, what happened to people liking the challenge, go play something else if losing isn't in the cards for you

Taking a break doesn't work, the core issues still remain once you return. It doesn't matter how many days pass between my sessions, I'm equally frustrated and livid after just playing a single match. The constant abuse of second chance perks and the complete removal of killer pressure by a perk like CoH truly removes any actual fun the killer could extract from the game. Games are supposed to help you relax and to make you experience fun, playing DbD meanwhile feels like an actual job. And the worst thing is: you don't get paid for it.
Honestly people with this mindset need to get some mental break outside of the game too. Most people still find dbd fun and if you really see it as a job you can't stop playing then you really need to get some help or possibly just try to practice and get better. If you want to find a game that you always win and is purely fun, there are loads of single-player games out there, but in a pvp game it is silly to act like every match needs to be super easy and win every time lol

You see them on Youtube and Twitch all the time, snickering and giggling as they all try their hardest to be as cancerous as possible to the killer then celebrate when he inevitably give up.
It isn't a successful hit, it is counted as a miss, you just see it hit though. It is only unfair visually.
also I'm still having a blast, I played a round of padded jaws trapper and got a 0k but it was still a fun match even with the survivors trying super hard. I got a lot of hooks and played fair and good. When I actually try and win it is always either a win or a super close 2k+, the game isn't horribly abysmal like everyone thinks. If you think that way maybe you need to try and just play for fun because most sides definitely can make the experience miserable for the other. If you only play killer, try the other side and improve
