The practice of slugging the third person and waiting out the bleed out timer to try to ensure there's no hatch escape is completely killer sided and lacks counterplay.

The game won't end normally with two survivors left and all the options for the last survivor only appear after the third one is dead.

I think that doubling or tripling the bleed out timer when there are only two survivors left would do wonders because it actually puts pressure on the killer to hook instead of leaving them slugged. And it makes the game end faster when the killer holds the game hostage by waiting out the bleed out timer when the last two survivors are both are slugged

You can make that bleed out timer 10 minutes you'll always get slugged for the 4k with how red rank killers need the 4k for a pip. Usually the Killers doing it have done it because either they want the 4k or they need it to pip. Either way it's the same thing.

It’s a buff to her as for adept you are REQUIRED to run hangman’s trick

Yes it's a buff in the sense it works for Adept, but calling it a Pig buff is completely different. That's like saying Predator got a buff so Wraith got a buff.

I think Sabo would be fine if it was 4 seconds instead of 2.5. That way they have to actually commit to the hook you're going to instead of just tapping a bunch of hooks around you with no real counter.

    Mad Grit meta now? /s

Hangman's Trick is pretty good now, like BBQ but a bit better (only no bloodpoints obv) I'm sure a lot of people are gonna ask for it to get nerfed though :/

The toolbox changes were a necessary step in the right direction. But yea, Decisive Strike is ridiculous combined with current gen speeds. Survivor's are all but invincible for a full miinute or two each match which is a gen and a bit per survivor.

Mad Grit, Agitation, Unrelenting, and Iron Grasp. Look at them and be like "well I see you there so basement away"

That's made sense, but we're not talking about Cross-Save, we're talking about Cross-Platform.

I just threw Cross-Progress in there since Cross-Progression usually comes with Cross-Platform play. But yes, from a logical standpoint it would seem to be not yet implemented or announced because it's either being fined tuned or the concept is on hold for other important balance issues at the moment, like the Rank Rework for example.

Again for context, I don't doubt that it's possible, but it really just depends on if the systems can handle it at the moment (with thousands of players cross-playing with others), so we'll have to see and wait for, like you said, it to be fine tuned. But we also have no information on this, so we don't 100% know what's happening behind the scenes.

It's all just speculation and theories at the moment.

I added cross save because I feel the Devs would probably add both at the same time honestly. Otherwise we have the same line of thinking.

I really hope this was a bug because I'm sick of this. I'm hate playing with newbies. Goes for survivor and killer, I want to play with people who have to same skill as me or who are more experienced because that's a challenge.

The new rank reset best come back because I hate being with low rank players.

The old rank reset allowed everyone to play without massive lobby times. I mean ya new rank reset made things easier, but reality if low rank killers had to wait upwards of 40 mintues for a lobby. Who in there right mind starting out a game is not gonna uninstall and play something else?

Also even with old rank reset you'll be red rank after a few hours of play bad or gold survivors aside.

That's not really confirmation that it's ready for a mainstream service, one player vs thousands players isn't solid evidence that it's possible.

I don't doubt that it is, but you don't know what's keeping it from happening and neither do I. That's why we need to wait until more is said on it, we have very little information to go off of.

Let's assume for a second it is real.

The reason its not enabled it because the Dev's are probably fine tunning it and preparing for cross save so if people want to switch they can. This also enables people to play with friends on a specific platform.

At least that's a logical conclusion as to why it would be available and added in, but still not available to the general public.

Come on devs, I'm not saying put me on the other side of the map, but waiting that long just to have the killer on you on the first 5 seconds of the match is just ridiculous. And even worst just to get camped.

Feels bad I had an Ace like that yesterday. I spawned on Grim pantry and had an idea where everyone is and before Ace and Nea could reasonably react. Nea was hit and Ace on the floor.

The biggest issue is sometimes RNG makes it so X persons in the lobby move first.

That's kind of my point, surge isn't good enough at the moment. I'd consider it if I were to hit someone but to hook someone? All killer perks seem to be more and more for late game

You don't need to hook someone to trigger Surge. In fact only a handful of Killers can't proc Surge easily due to alternative attacks. If they did that one change the perk would see a significant increase in use because it saves time kicking the gen.

I don't see a lot of Huntress'. I think she has fallen off a lot because of maps. Most loops are too tall for her to hit over.

Ya shes become increasingly rare and with the rise of non throwable loops her popularity dropped like a rock. I'm starting to see that with Billy as well. This has lead to a massive increase in Freddy.

That wont change her power level though. I would say Hag would be the best if the 2 if she wasn't bugged currently.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1110708#Comment_1110708

Nurse is just not worth the effort on console.

Oni is bad because of sensitivity.

Likewise, Huntress suffers too, but that isn't her biggest problem.

    Demo destroys FPS.

Billy also suffers, but not as much because you don't NEED to flick.

Also, 360's are very good on console, both because of aim dressing and because of low Killer sensitivity.

In terms of power from playing both sides against everyone I have on both PC and PS4 this would be my assumption. We will just talk about my experience on PS4 though.

Spirit, Billy, Hag, and Huntress remain at the top. You see a significant drop in Hag and Huntress being played, but I think that's because people don't want to invest time into Huntress and Hag can be boring.

Oni is actually really good on console, but I see a lot of people use him badly. A LOT.

Though I dont like him Ghostface is pretty popular and with addons is actually not bad. The only issue comes with do you play him like TrU3Ta1ent or do you play him as a leaning stalky boi. Leaning Stalky Boi tends to be significantly more powerful, but TrU3Ta1ent is less risky.

Nurse is probably B tier at best to learn her is very cost ineffective, but the rewards are good, but the lack of optimization and the FPS drops randomly happening hurt her and Legion significantly. Both can still be played well, but there will be times you'll just go "ya that happened" while neither you or the survivors did anything wrong.

Plagues interesting shes still about the same I'm pretty sure when she was designed it was for consoles not PC. When I play her on PC it feels the same as on PS4 most of the time.

360s are pretty good and a lot more powerful due to the lower sensitivity, but it's also like DH you only fall for it once. I had issues with it after going back to PS4 and fixed it by changing the sensitivity too 100% now that problem was solved. I've since learned to keep a DS4 and M&K hooked up to my PC and use them on a rotation.

The biggest issues with PS4 are the lack of optimization, random fps, and bad dedicated servers. So keeping that in mind when picking a killer you need ones that won't have a lot of issues or downsides when missing hits.

EDIT: I dislike Demo the footsteps in my ear drives me nuts so other then rarely seeing him I can't really say much. If they got rid of the map wide notification on his teleport he would probably be good.

  • I highly doubt it would be console as the power level is still the same just the killers shift left or right depending on the console being used due to optimization being horrid. I play on PS4 and PC and very few changes between the killer could shift them this much.

this new chapter will bring back people momentarily mabe for a week or 2 only because it’s “new content.” Once people figure out that content doesn’t change the core problems with the game they’ll start leaving again. I mean just ask yourself do you enjoy playing killer in the current state of the game? Do you enjoy solo q as survivor because you have no one to play with? I do like Dbd but I really don’t have any motivation to play survivor and most definitely killer. If the new sabo and hook changes make it into live servers idk if I will continue to play. New map is cool but it looks like it’s meant for survivors more than killers it’s big. New killer and survivor are cool but that still doesn’t change any issues with the current game.

Funny I actually enjoy killer and survivor. I find survivor way too boring anymore, but what is killing the game for me is the mass of bugs, dedicated server issues, not knowing who has red ping, and broken mechanics getting not fixes.

I'm so glad it isn't just me that feel underwhelmed by this slow cowboy and his breakable chain gun.

    Recent perks:

Surge, Cruel limits, Mindbreaker : terrible

Zanshin tactics, blood echo, nemesis: poor, nemesis is great but means you lose a slot to play with other obsession perks

The only decent perks were with survivors having inner strength and breakout for swfc sweat teams but now swfc sweat teams can pass their health state to the runner?

I think the best advise for me is to find another game there is no fun in unbalanced games

Surge is actually pretty good. Its biggest issue is the fact it needs the same treatment Infectious Fright got and just trigger on a down.

Ok. But clearly in this case they do.

Edit: Just a reminder, my original case wasn't that this bug doesn't suck. It's that Iron Will should work that way.

No the bug sucks because tracking with sound is actually how advanced killers play. They use blood and sound. Scratch marks are the easy way. Stating people should use perks for everything is honestly narrow minded.

If the killer knocked down the Jake with lvl 3 iron will he's done his job even if he slugs because he found someone else running up so restarted a chase. The killer shouldn't be affected by yet another sound bug or have to run a perk to see. If Jake was not picked up by himself or teammates while the killer was in chase that's not a killer issue and shouldn't be made into one.

If sound wasn't an issue then neither survivors or killers would required headsets or any speakers for volume.

  • @ScottJund said:

I mean if they take two hits you're just 1-for-1ing so you don't really lose much. Not that big of a deal tbh

It's really only bad once a good coordinated survivor with Breakout will body block the killer. Let the guy Sabo the hook and all 3 now get away. You may point out that means less gens done and 1 extra hit, but the pressure you lose while the 4th survivor is on a gen and losing a hook state is not something to shrug off.

This is just assuming it's a single survivor who's coordinated enough to pull this off which is not unreasonable. If it's a SWF group this is fully possible every time you go for a hook.

Now let's add some flashlights or toolboxes into the mix and it can be even worse. This new speed has more going wrong for it then anything beneficial.

You may think it's fine, but your not exactly an average skilled player either.

I don't think people run cosmetics for the hiding purpose unless they are stealthing. This is definitely not a stealthing outfit. I just figured if I was gonna say they should change it i should mention at least an idea of how.

I would still wear them because I main Feng, but that depends on of the outfit lives up to some hype or not.

Thats true hopefully they do stand up a bit. It's plausible they could change it to stand halfway up and then be floppy. At that point the outfit would still be shorter then most male survivors.

The concept was cool, but if they can't at least make the ears look good to let you resemble the concept idea then at that point it's just 2 random pieces of fabric. They are not common to run into and if someone took the time to master Billy's full potential then why can't they be strong? I face a lot of Billy but it's very rare that I run into a god Billy who can curve and everything.

Correct me if I'm wrong though :)

Your right a god Billy is rare, but TC has a point. A lot of people call Billy balanced. Yet if you call Billy balanced then that means the majority of DBD killers are clearly underperforming and underdeveloped.

It takes a considerable amount of bias to look at the update notes and actually think it's survivor sided. You seem to completely be ignoring anything other than what favors survivors.

Breakable walls will definitely be killer sided since if it's an advantage, they can break them whenever; and if it's not an advantage, they don't have to be broken at all.

Item retention was always ridiculously easy on escape. If you think this will increase item retention by any significant margin, you have no clue what survivors have been doing all this time. However, the garunteed addon loss on the other hand will be where the true difference comes from and that is huge unless survivors start running Ace in the Hole to counter it.

Sabotaging will now require a deal more of a head start than previously. If a survivor is downed too close to a hook, it's impossible to do anything about it with this change. And the faster hook spawns are definitely in the killer's favor.

Toolbox changes were clearly a nerf. If you bothered reading the details, that much was definitely made clear. You're just desperate to see everything as a survivor buff if you're honestly questioning this.

And all 3 killers that got changes were definitely buffed. This is one of the most killer sided patches in a long while.

I'm not a big fan of the sabo changes or the doctor decay changes. Other then that the patch notes seemed fine. Though I didn't get on the PTB yet.

Because it's a game. If the survivors or the killers not having fun why would you want to continue. Either it being Survivor Or Killer Toxicity, Bad Lag in the server, Carrying a team, ETC. If someone's not having a enjoyable experince they should have the right to leave. There's hundreds of reasons why someone's gonna be "nah peace out I'll go enjoy life in my next match".

That's definitely a neat idea. I do have three things to note, though:

    1. I sorta' have a soft spot for Open Handed as is. You can do some fun stuff when you stack them with other survivors. Combine it with Kindred and you can see the killer from pretty far away. I don't know if I'd want to see it go away completely.
    2. This might favour SWF, who can strategically equip perks and use one person as the "aura reading guy" that everyone can go to and see everything.
    3. It might be too much info? I'm just imagining all the possible perks and items that can show auras, and it could get out of hand pretty easily. Toss on Windows of Opportunity, Empathy, Alert, Detective's Hunch, maybe even a Rainbow Map and you can see just about everything. At that point, it can be hard to make out anything of use.

But I certainly like the idea. I had thought about something similar but as a buff to maps, where if you're standing next to a survivor who's looking at a map, you would also see the auras. Could be a neat way to gives maps some love.

I would like to see a perk like he mentioned maybe in the future. Limit it to 1 RNG aura perk for the duration of 40/50/60 seconds. After that when they come close to another survivor it can happen again.

Everyone knows how important sound is for all sides in this game. We also know that the devs purposefully try to drown out survivor noises with the chase music so killers have a harder time tracking them.

In a recent stream, the issues with sounds was talked about and they mentioned how sounds are affected by many things.

Since sound is SO important to gameplay, and it's affected by even the smallest changes in the game, why isn't sound one of the top things that's taken care of when a new patch breaks it?

It's been several months without a fix to sound, and a new killer is about to be released which we can assume will continue the tradition of affecting sounds in a negative way. Will sound be a priority this time or will we have to continue to watch as sound issues are seemingly ignored for months at a time?

Because bad survivors need more help then ever before.

    Long text warning!!!

It's clear the DC penalty is a good idea put in at the wrong time. Combined with all current issues, it was ill considered. Just had 3 different huntress games literally 12 metre camping with insidious in one of them as backup then tunnel after a very orchestrated unhook. Now in a team this is fine. But with randoms, this is an issue.

It's bad enough it is a random no communication team you're working with which means, unless you know specifically that they're camping, you are wasting time concluding that. Meanwhile you work on gens while the two others try unhooking the guy that's gonna die anyway. Yes that's their choice but why should you equally feel punished by the whole game relying on you to get things done?

And when they do unhook no matter if you run in front of killer to protect, they aggressively want the kill. Hatch pops up and closes right beside the 3rd hooked survivor, right beside a gate. And the second on the same wall. (Great placement devs). And she has NOED also.

Why wouldnt people DC in a game like this when it is rewarding to a lazy killer and punishing survivors that are engaging? I understand killers have faults but it is no excuse to lasily camp, tunnel and NOED your every game. Is this what dbd is now?

Sorry if it seems like a complaint but I cant be the only one that is dealt this and feel the devs are stalling for time releasing new killers and "Potentially fixing" glitches when they should be doing what Rainbow Six Seige did with Operation Health.

Question is how did you not notice a insidious camping Huntress? The Lullaby is always there. Hatch opens when 1 survivor is remaining. So when She closed it after the 3rd person jumped it should of reopened momentarily for you before the Huntress closed it a second time.

Not the most versatile, but more than people give her credit for. I think that a lot of people also forget that her RBT is not a killing tool. And a guessing game, rather than random chance.

She lacks early map pressure due to her slower crouch speed and has nothing to help in a chase, but her dash really helps get that first hit.

The reason I say most versatile is because while she wont excel at anything Pig does a lot more in her kit then any other killer and has it on demand. That to me is more important than most other things. The only other Killer that imho comes close is GF and his power is too situational based on survivors skill and the cool down.

True her RBT is never a kill tactic if it happens I'll be hally because I rarely see that Game Over Score. People forget it's a in built slowdown.

I've never had issues with the first down honestly. Early game pressure in all honesty no Killer has it. While some alleviate this due to Map Pressure with speed. Those few precious early game moments are never in any killers control.

Her dash is fun you can do some neafty little techs with that. I recently learned the one on the grim pantry docks to go flying through the window.

If I understand correctly the new DC penalties are to punish people that disconnect in a match simply because they don't like the way the match is going. The rationale is that disconnecting is unfair to the rest of the people in the match. I 100% agree this needed to be done.

I posted a thread yesterday about queue times on PS4 and had people started commenting on it how when they play killer and they get stuck in a lobby they don't like because of the amount of survivors with toolboxes or whatever reason they just dodge it. Toolboxes are part of the game. The rationale behind dodging in this situation is no different than the rationale of disconnecting in a match. They don't like something so they dodge. Dodging is still disconnecting. It's just done in the lobby instead of the match. It's just as unfair to the people you dodged as disconnecting in match. Sometimes it's more unfair because you may end up waiting 30 minutes or more for your lobby to fill again.

Why does lobby dodging get a free pass when it's done for exactly the same reason as disconnecting?

I've noticed certain lobbies have green ping on PS4 and some have Red Ping. I typically dodge anything over 120 to 140 Ping. That's within acceptable parameters for me. While I normally have green ping on other games sitting around 60 to 80. I've come to the conclusion it's a dedicated servers thing.

I have recently messaged survivors afterwards who were a 4 man SWF who thought I was lag switching until even as they said "pallets took time to fall or respond" and they realized it was the match itself.

I don't think Lobby Dodging should be penalized. The fact is there is many variables for a killer to look at when he gets into a lobby. Survivors are not supposed to see a killer. While the killer is supposed to see survivors so he can adjust his build based on what he wants or leave if he realizes it's not a fair or fun match.

  • Pig is the most versatile killer. She may not excel at anything, but good killer fundamentals and good killer instincts will carry you extremely far with Pig. Since she can do a bit of everything she's well versed and can be used at any rank to great effect with just a little practice. Yet most people call her low tier because all they see is a killer who is Low Tier and RNG dependent because they have had bad experiences with her or that's what people tell them without ever truely trying.

In seriousness it's understandable if killers do that in retaliation. It's sad my Green Keys are in the cross fire.

I 100% innocent green keys are caught in the cross fire. Funny thing is I have so many Ebony Mori's that it's unlikely I will run out anytime soon.

Dead By Daylight is all about farming stats to rank up. Whenever I load in a game I have a mental checklist of the things I need to do to rank up.

    1. Get 2-3 safe unhooks
    2. Cleanse any totem spotted
    3. Contribute to popping 2-3 gens
    4. Heal literally anyone that comes near me
    5. Have all my chases last at least 30 seconds minimum and get a pallet stun in each one

And that's Dead By Daylight. Focus on the checklist, rank up or at least avoid de-ranking. You have a team, but you're really just working on your individual stats. Worked to get me to Rank 4 last season.

That moment you read this and realize your a team oriented checklist is amusing. Except based on the chase one you check off the bad at chases drop pallet.
