Yeah but how do I level up Trickster if I wanna play Hillbilly?

That's the only part I hate. I wish it was like survivor, you could switch over. :/

I'd stay out of it for now, at least until the matchmaking has a chance to account for all the new arrivals. It's...chaos.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002470#Comment_3002470

    But...you said 'all the time?'.

To be fair, I've literally encountered two 'farming' killers (in that they didn't play, they just wanted to farm BP) since I've started playing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3002485#Comment_3002485

Yeah, that's unfortunate. Again, I'm not saying it never happens, but I'm saying that it's vanishingly rare in my experience - and letting a single bad experience with a person of a specific category make you treat other people of the same category poorly...that's the sort of thinking I try not to engage in.

Lolol, my buddy is playing it and giving back reports that it is really sweaty right now.

  • Actually, none of the above. It's Make Your Choice. I love that when the person is unhooked, the exposed person yells so you can tell who it was.

  • I'm on a kick for Tokyo City Music from 80's.

  • Lightweight. I swear to god, it makes dodging killers so much easier. Paired with Distraction or Lithe or something makes it so fun.

  • Pinhead. I legit had someone say you're a bad Pinhead. I was like bruh don't I know it, but I'm trying the daily challenge!

  • Honestly, I was hoping with the new ST season out, we'd have the old map again. :/

  • Ya'll are scaring me lol. I'm still at work and haven't gotten to play Anniversary yet. :/

I find it easy to down someone with main event. I played trickster pre knife nerf and got main event at least 4 times a trial. Me getting to use it however.... yeah 10 seconds to activate main event was bogus.

I had a really hard time because I'd active it by filling the knife bar thing, then I'd have to find someone. And that didn't work out. It was hard for me, I never play Trickster!

  • Yeah, cuz you're really gonna notice small jewelry details in a fast paced death match.

  • @Brimp said:

You think thats bad? talk about the dredge one where you have to hit someone within 15 seconds of exiting a locker 5 times in a single trial.

Luckily thats not gate keeping the weapon.

My dude, that's called a friendly match. XD They had one with Trickster that was impossible. You had to activate Main Event TWICE AND DOWN TWO PEOPLE. It's hard to get it to activate once in a match, and it's on a short timer, so noone may be around when it activates. I had to play several hours of friendly AND have my friend message the people in the lobby (we had to search across PS and Xbox), and hoped to get someone. Then you had to have 2-3 be decide to be friendly in order to have enough time to fill up the Main Event bar before people finished gens. It was exhausting.

  • Honestly, I just go for Tome objectives. XD Unless it's an objective I need, I usually let the killer get me, or let the fourth person go. Unless it was really sweaty, then it's kinda nice to rub it in that I won. XD

  • Dude, I agree. XD It's an event, just chill out. We can have a fun time.

  • Honestly, I just do the Bloodweb while I'm waiting in the lobby. Especially with presets being a thing for perks now, it's just easy to do a few levels of web and then go into a match.

  • They just gotta shake it up. XD

Hi!! I would love to take you up on this. I play with Xbox tho. I have some killer achievements I’m really trying to knock out, mostly with The Twins which I suck at.

    I’m #e998

I think unfortunately I'm not able to match up with you as a killer, but I can do survivor ones. =3 Are you able to add a Playstation player? I'm Lekitzul on there as well. I know sometimes the really hard killer ones, I am friendly. Find someone, stand really close and spin in a circle, or go up on a hill and spin. When they stare at you, just nod up and down frantically. Sometimes it works immediately, sometimes it takes a few rounds to get a smart survivor. If they don't cooperate, just go after them!

I don't listen to broadway, but I have several cheesy musical songs that are just fun to sing. Plus some fun Disney songs. I can't laugh.

I really slower alternative songs, or alt-rock.

8 games not hours thankfully. I did run empathy too. David at least has Dead Hard and we’re gunna live forever so you’ll get blood points at least?

Ugh, I didn't do very well.... I needed something where he did protection hits, and he refused to learn Empathy, even at level 49. So I struggled forever on it.

I think what makes glyphs exciting is that there are so many different variants, so if they appeared at random (by this, I mean a random color, as to not make them predictable), it would create that tiny bit of mystery. Like the mystery box in CoD Zombies. Either you're gonna get something great (i.e. the Wunderwaffe, or a yellow glyph), or you're gonna get something that sucks (i.e. the War Machine, or a blue glyph).

But I do agree that it might be tiring to see them every trial. Maybe per trial they could have a 20% chance of spawning.

Honestly, just having a random glyph, would be great, I don't even care what it is. I would look forward to daily activities.

  • So, I actually was friendly to get this match lol. I can't measure meters in the game. :/ So I just went up, got friendly with Charlotte, let them smack me around and then as they were doing gens, I just got back as far as I could and leapt. It worked first try being friendly.

  • It is an interesting theory. I like seeing how these characters are interconnected.

  • I was gonna say, the basic hairs aren't that different anyways, that's bad. XD

  • That really does suck that they left you. I always go back for people, even if I'm SWF.

  • The headgear is in his video if you unlock it, it's how he tortured people.

  • I like the style of Yamaoka alot. Although Dead Dawg is really beautiful, it looks like it would be a very high temperature place, so no.

  • Actually, it's not on the list, but Empathy+Desperate Measures helps me prepare for healing/unhooking. Especially if I'm running a Boon.

But if I'm trying to do group stuff Leader works okay.

  • Man so freaking excited about this. <3 I love Leon!

  • @DrDeepwound said:

Its like 99ing the gates bro, not bannable since there is a bleedout timer. No hostage taken. I do this to Boil Overs who run to corners to die.

Dude I freaking hate that. I assume that since you are really putting up a fight to be on the hook, then you are WANTING to lay on the ground. I will literally babysit and make sure everyone else survives before that Boil Over person leaves. XD

  • I'm like super stoked for it honestly. I think Haddie just looks really cute. <3 I got about 200,000 bloodies to spend on her already, and I'm gonna try and earn some more tonight! I tend to like supernatural detectives, so her backstory seems really interesting to me. Also, having a new map added is exactly what I was dreaming of.

  • Honestly, if the wait time is particularly long, I just do some dishes and vacuum or fold clothes. It gives me a minute to catch up. XD

  • @kaneyboy said:

Everyone moans about noed. DH etc do you all really want a boring game where everyone’s perks are weaker??

Dude I TOTALLY agree. Like, if you don't like the perk, get something to counter it. Like, one guy was moaning that Dead Hard got them to a pallet or window! Boohoo get a pallet/window stopper. Like. I freaking hate the Killer Shack! I get looped so bad there! I got Bamboozle, and it's better! The whole point of perks is to build a set that helps you against your weaknesses.

  • I miss Hawkins so much, it had a cool atmosphere. It's where I learned to play actually.

  • @Slowpeach said:

Yeah I've been trying to learn survivor and mostly done solo queue... not recommended. I had an 'escape with Claudette' mission/ritual and oh my god it was horrible, it took me 8 games to do it and I've got better perks on Yoichi and Jake so its frustrating as hell.

Like a lot of people complain about the killer tunneling and camping which true is annoying but I can't fault the killer for taking advantage of somebody doing a bad play. I can however fault the idiot who thinks its a great idea to unhook me right in front of the killer without borrowed time. Twice! Another one I had two different Megs block me with a pallet when the killer was a fair distance away, then bodyblock me while the killer is coming and I'm trying to run and they are crouching through a doorway. 'Allied' survivors annoy me way more then anything the killer does and you really don't know whether or not they are doing it on purpose.

Granted if somebody unsafe hooks or blocks an ally with a pallet while I'm killer I will go out of my way to ignore the victim and hunt down the offender. I don't care about winning on killer but survivor based missions, rituals, tome things are usually escape or bust.

8 hours dang. Alert, that one that let's you see them after a gen, and Empathy do WONDERS for survival. Also come in with a toolbox.

I had that problem with David, he just seems slower, he's big so it's hard to hide. I got him to 49 and he STILL didn't have good perks. X.X

  • I know it's a bad map, but honestly I've had some good matches on it because the killers hate it as much as I do. XD

  • I am just buying him, but I am saving the bloodies so I can get their Adepts!

  • It depends SOLEY on how the team mates/killer is acting. If they are face camping, I usually don't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing my team mates die, so I will let them pop genies. I do wish they would give points for staying on the hook like Hanging On! 500 points! For like, if someone is leaving you on the hook, and you go from strike one, to two and three without being removed.

    I'm...not?

I'm just saying that, from where I'm standing, these are a ridiculously small minority of the people talking about this, and could very well just be individuals poking the bear (see: trolling).

The majority of people seem to be saying...roughly what I'm saying - if you enjoy this, then more power to you - but wouldn't it have been better if this had been a little bit more organic? Also - this seems to be the antithesis of normalization.

Also also: yes, I say 'hyperfocusing' for a reason - because this suddenly becomes the only important thing about the character.

At best, that leads to clumsy storytelling - and at worst sends the discourse around that media product off in all sorts of silly directions (see the 'queer erasure' stuff about David 'not looking gay enough', or how making him gay is an insult because he's not a totally new character etc.).

From the outside, it looks like there is just no way to win here - if you make a 'diverse' character, then people immediately start insisting that you make them 'diverse in the right way' - they can't have flaws, be unlikeable, or have any connections to anything that might be considered 'problematic', can't be portrayed by an actor that isn't 'gay enough' etc.

Once again, my best examples of this outside of DbD would be the Mineta thing from My Hero Academia: after it became popular in the west, fans demanded an LGBT character, but when the author revealed that a specific character might be bisexual, it caused a huge backlash because it was 'the wrong character':

    https://www.polygon.com/22607424/my-hero-academia-memes-bisexual-mineta-manga-anime

The Cyberpunk ad, where a massive social media firestorm was kicked up because...it was problematic for trans people to be linked to capitalism (this resulted in a bunch of stuff being cut from the game)

    https://www.dailydot.com/irl/cyberpunk-2077-transphobic-ad/

    Or what happened regarding Batwoman:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/comic-riffs/wp/2018/08/13/ruby-rose-leaves-twitter-after-criticism-of-her-batwoman-casting/

Do you see why, from the perspective of an outsider, this might all seem a bit...well, much?

I specifically hate it when a character isn't "gay" enough . I mean, I know their is some typically "gay" fashion, but that doesn't mean David can't be. He's a big buff tough guy, and they can be gay as well. He's doesn't have to be very effeminate or anything.

I wasn't aware of Mineta, but honestly, he would annoy me because he is the joke character in the show I feel. :/ I'm like yeah, the one that is a joke has to be bi?

  • Part of the Twin is they are able to block. If they are that stupid to hang around and not try the other gate, then that's on them. That's why there are two gates dude.

  • Dude, nights for me have never been chilled. I know specifically to get a hard objective I need to play early in the day. I don't even try for irridescent emblems in evening. :/ SWF usually pop up for me in evenings as well, I think because more people are out of work.

  • Well, friendly survivors I take it as they need a specific objective like flashing the killer, pallets, etc. Usually I'm pretty compliant because honestly there are a couple ones (Like Ji-Woon's Main Event, need to knock down 2 people in one match) I literally wouldn't have gotten unless the survivors were working with me. His even takes so long to charge up, I was lucky to get one Event before 5 gens were done. If I act friendly in the beginning, I finish friendly. But if I'm not feeling friendly I will literally rush at them attack and let them know I'm not friendly.

It'll be like the CryptTV skins.. they look neat, but no one will ever use them. I think I've seen one or two CryptTV skins since they came out nearly 2 years ago. I expect to see very little Attack on Titans skins when they go live because not that many people will want to pay 20 bucks for a skin they themselves won't be able to see. That's my main issue with paying for neat killer skins.. You only see it in the lobby and endgame, and in some mori animations. Survivor skins on the other hand, you see your character at all times during gameplay, makes it more worth it to me..

I totally agree on that. I like survivor skins more since I can see them. I may spend a few irri shards on something for a killer. I really only bought cosmetics for my killers if I main them.

  • I think ya'll just complain. XD NOED just make's it so you have to Nea your way to the gate basically. You just have to be more careful and can't be running rabid. I've had people hooked after NOED, and we still managed to escape without a death. DH isn't that hard to counter. When you get close, most people use it too early anyways. It usually only extends my chases by a second or two. It already relies on them being hurt and also makes it hard to coexist with other exhaustion perks like Lithe or Head On.

  • I assume it's like a psychic thing. Like, how the entity is psychic vampire. A lot of his world and designs are very mental. So, with his "magic" or whatever, the fears from past events/thoughts just kinda manifest. This world basically is made to bring fears alive so Entity can feed is the gist I'm getting. Different worlds obliviously mix here, any survivor and killer can go to any map. It makes since for other cryptids/creatures to mix in.

  • Detective Tapp had it pretty bad actually. He go his throat slashed, he saw his partner get blown apart by shotguns. He got an obssesive thing going on after Pig/Jigsaw and it ruined his life. He was physically and mentally devastated. His fallout from his events was harsh, which is why I voted for him.

Jill/Leon have it really bad, they've had to survive through multiple events, but they seem pretty built for it. Cheryl has it pretty rough, but I haven't actually finished her games yet.

true true, that's a pretty good point. I wonder how would be his stance towards the Entity, if he would a guy like Ghostface, who likes it and goes along with it, or more like a rebellious Trapper, I can imagine him trying to be a cunning type that pretends to go along with whatever the Entity is up to while in secret he's just gathering information and planning his own thing. I'd bet he would get along with pre-blight Blight.

Honestly, I think he would be really fascinated. He kinda reminds me of the Blight, how he was a researcher sticking his nose into stuff. So much so he Blighted the other killers? (I haven't gotten to all his story yet, I just know the Blighted Cosmetics for every killer) Wesker was fascinated with infected people and the virus. So he'd probably be interested. But I bet the monotony would get to him.

  • That's called being an ass lol. I've had people try to open lockers when I'm trying to use Head On. I'm like STOP. XD If a Killer is being friendly, I will point the Killer to the survivor being unfriendly tho lol.

  • @Mozic said:

Maybe if you realize that you're up against low-skill survivors, ease up on the clutch a little bit?

Today's baby survivors could use a little nurturing to develop into tomorrow's stable playerbase, after all!

Exactly. Unless I have like a 4K objective, if I'm hooking left and right and gens are not popping at ALL I ease up and play slower. Maybe just hit them and let them go. And usually let at least one escape.

  • Mikaela's can actually be very trollish. But they also tend to be a very targeted character because of their booning. Claudette's need an F. I always find them hiding in bushes and lockers, they don't tend to get hooked much, don't do unhook. Generally just hide out.
