Any Perks + Boon Totem Perk(s)
There you go you just broke the game

A whole lot of that would make DBD a much better game.
Also Sounds and Information. Before sounds were ominous and alarming when they needed to be, now all the sounds are just information. Killers like Pyramid Head, Deathslinger, and Doctor you can hear their power from anywhere on the map - ruins the whole ambience of discovering the killer.
The amount of information Survivors has leaves very little window to actual scare them, even without perks you get notified what gens are being completed, where the doors are, Survivors that get injured, downed, slugging, and being hooked. Even distracting survivors from being scared with giving them timing information. As survivor you are flooded with so much information that it you're distracted from being scared, and have far too much forewarning before a situation where you can get scared. Perks can just eliminate being surprised at all.
-
You might not of been here for it, but they already gutted Nurse, and left a group of bugs that made it difficult for even the best Nurse players to play Nurse.
Nah, the best Killers already got their Nerfs. Time for another unnecessary nerf to Pig.

There are other playable characters than Feng Min?

Ok, so this was a pain to find.
There was a similar thread here some time ago, and this is what I commented there.
My opinion remains the same:
There is an easy solution and a hard solution.
The easy one consists of everyone buying a time machine and returning to 2017. Problem solved, DBD is scary again.
The hard one consists of working with what we currently have. So, let us start:
1- Maps and ambience
We are starting with the obvious, and so I shall state the obvious: reworked maps are absolute garbage on every single goddamn aspect, this one included. Crotus Prenn is the best, yet saddest example of this: a map whose ambience was top tier got transformed into an empty wasteland.
My idea is simply erasing the stupid Realm Beyond and return the maps to what they once were. However, I imagine this is out of the equation to the devs, so we would have to work to make the garbage more tolerable. And I suppose it can be done, with basically 2 things:
-Fog: We need more Fog. It is an extremely important element in DBD, both lore-wise and gameplay-wise, which somehow the game currently lacks. We would need something like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WTMRHL7BH048/image.png
-Lighting: Lighting is something which, undeniably, got worse throughout the years. The Realm Beyond merely kicked an already dead horse. The image above shows what the lighting should look like, which is basically 2017 levels. Alternatively, the devs can bring this precious treasure back:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MYD69QWC535J/bringitback.png
2- Killers
Next we are going to what makes the game truly scary, the killers themselves. And I think we can divide the killers into 3 types: scary, neutral, and not scary.
-Scary killers are the ones who are scary by themselves and do not depend on the maps for their spookiness factor. In my honest opinion, during DBD`s golden age of spookiness the scariest killers were Freddy and Michael, mainly because of how their powers worked. Michael still plays the same, so everything is okay with him.
Freddy`s scary factor came from the way he approached survivors, something that he now lacks. Give him his old power back and he can rule the Fog alongside Michael, in a spooky diarchy.
Other killers, such as Doctor, are also members of this category, but not nearly as scary as those 2 kings.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NQ38P91VX9AS/image.png
(Don`t question this image)-Neutral killers are the ones who end up depending on maps to be scary, such as Trapper and Hillbilly. However, keep in mind that those killers were designed with the old ambience in mind, and if it was to return I believe these killers would automatically be in a good spot.
-Killers who are not scary are an eternal problem, because not much can be done about them. Legion, Trickster, Deathslinger do not have what makes a horror icon a...well, horror icon. The ambience changing around them should make them somewhat tolerable, but the experience they provide will never be the same as the other 2 categories.
Not to mention that those killers are annoying by themselves, so there is that.
3- Survivors
The scary factor of the Survivor experience depends on the other 2 items, so there isn`t much to talk about here. However, something worth mentioning are the animations. Old animations made the survivors look scared are paranoid, while new animations make them look weird.
What should be done here is obvious. Revert it.
4- Menus
Last but not least, we have the menus. And they should return to the old style. Period.
If you don`t know what I am talking about:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HGSPF8318TU8/image.png
It doesn`t really need to look exactly like this...but something close to it would be nice.
5- Final thoughts
And I believe that is it! Now, I`ve talked about what I think would be the best way to make DBD scary again, but this is all my opinion.
A whole lot of this. The reason Dead by Daylight isn't scary anymore is because the Dev's made it not scary anymore in an attempt to "balance" the game.
-
I actually can't grade because of the hackers in the game right now.
Is this really when I should uninstall this game for good? Like BHVR won't even make a statement about it.

Shouldn't we try and reach a more balanced game not one side dominating the other. Why do you want to dominate every survivor you come across when playing killer or every killer you play against you need to beat and dominate. What's people's obsession over feeling power over others.
This game isn't and Shouldn't be a power fantasy and a mindset like this in my opinion is toxic.
That's not what it means at all. The point of an asymmetrical game is there are more of one side, and a stronger other side.

Yes, the limit is until the survivors cleanse all the totems.

Go Twins and put Victor to defend your totem while you play the whole game as an m1 killer.

The Pip/Emblem/Grades system is unrelated to the MMR system. The SBMM doesn't even consider your Grade when matchmaking.

MMR judges a match as 4 different 1v1's between killer and survivor individually too which seems a bit bullcrap
Exactly far too much stress on killer, especially when there are so many people playing with swf's of 2 or more.
-
Middle of the road on Haddonfield.
I kid you not. Not only did RNG or a Survivor give you Haddonfield, but out of the 13 totem spawns on that map. It spawned in the wide open, front center, middle of the road. Where you can see it from every balcony. You can see it running between every gen. A blind man would trip over it.

@DemonDaddy said:
By the devs own statement, the killer is playing 4 1v1 games at once.
Given that survivor objective is quicker then the killer's, it makes sense to prioritize which 1v1 is gonna get the most attention. The time constraints on killer just don't allow the equal spread of focus unless survivors themselves are under performing.
Honestly it should be 1v4, not 4 1v1's.

I saw some typed this:
- Higher mmr survivor escape: -5
- Lower mmr escape: -10
- Higher mmr kill: +20
- Lower mmr kill: +10
Means your mmr + 15 that match. That gain is quite high for me.
Even if you kill 2 lower and have 2 higher escape, your mmr would be +10. No wonder Killers complain alot. Their mmr increased non stop.
With that math then you are usually always gaining, and that's terrible for any mmr system.
No wonder playing Killer is so awful
-
Just be the one to pick up the cube most of the time. Pick it up when he downs a survivor or picks up a survivor. 9 times out of 10 by the time he gets them on a hook, you would have already completed it.
Pinhead is also easy to loop outside of a chain hunt.

The way I would do it
Bloodpoints booster based on your rank

That's actually brilliant. Not only an incentive to raise your grade, but an incentive to keep playing after making it to iri grade 1.

The new Thrill of the Hunt is trash (the upcoming update) compared to the way it is now. I dont understand why the descision was made to nerf it, Thrill of The Hunt wasnt even used taht much at all. Smh help
I think you already know the reason.
It counters Boon totems. Can't make things fair for Killer, and can't ruin the Survivors fun.
-
BHVR will we get a free 500k because your grade system broke again this month? A minor inconvenience at best, but it was inconvenient for those that wanted to play the last day to grade 1.
That's right kids, I will use any petty reason to expect free BP. No shame.
-
A few buffs that balances one side to be bearable, doesn't equal or outweigh several buffs/additions to the other side that makes it even more broken.

Got the idea from another topic where I'm seeing people say it's hard/impossible to win loops/lose killers.
I'd honestly say I'm winning 15-20% of my chases as survivor.
My main chase related perk is Lithe.
My fun build uses Head-On/Quick and Quiet.
I find Lithe to be a resourceful, and cheesy way to easily escape chases. In regards to what the game counts as "Escaped" score event, and escaping a chase for Emblem points. Even though the Killer can easily just catch up, and you're down an exhaustion perk.
Which is why I used it for the first season of the Grade mechanic, and will be using it every month prior 🤣

Please do not use the report system in this manner....nothing that player did is against the rules. It takes the staff time to go through all these reports and therefore takes time away from genuine reports.
Wait. Doesn't tickets that don't directly break the rules get sent to Feedback anyways? At least that's what the support team responds with. Which makes sense. If a player reports something that they found unfair, or unfun, but that incident isn't breaking the rules. The report gets moved to feedback so it can be considered among other feedback when deciding future changes to the game.
Personally I would never suggest to players not to use support function for any reason. It's helpful for more than just finding players that break da rulez.

We call balancing around the invidual players and not the team as a whole "bad balancing."
Yes. In a 1v4 Asymmetrical casual game based on famous slasher films as a party game.
Yeah. This is not league of legends, and Killers don't get paid to play the game.

The balance is not meant to be between individual characters; it's supposed to be balanced between teams. One Killer is supposed to be balanced against four Survivors, not one Survivor.
The whole point of making structures closer, and increase the amount of pallets on the map was so that Survivor could 1v1 the Killer, because to solo players it didn't make sense that 1 player be punished for having bad teammates, so they wanted to be able to 1v1 the Killer and run them for 5 gens. Which the only counter for that was bloodlust, but testing removing bloodlust they saw a big dive in Killer players so kept it to keep the game afloat. I will not be surprised if bloodlust get's removed soon just to fully move the game towards 1v1 instead of 1v4.
The current gen speed, perks, and map layouts are made so Survivors can 1v1 the Killer that's why the role is so stressful.

Why doesnt it make sense that the game should be balanced. Tell me then.
Because they are balancing the game that a Survivor can 1v1 the Killer in a 1v4, turning the Killer role to be too stressful, and more like a job than an actual game.
Which is why this game was so successful earlier on when they understood it was an asymmetrical game and made changes so it would be fun for both sides. Now they want it only to be fun for one side for the sake of "balance" and being able to 1v1 the killer.

The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. Ding A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. Ding Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, ding

Absolutely, less time for them to be patrolling gens. Hell yeah

I thought killers wanted survivors to seek out totems?
It's not that simple, and as someone who plays Survivor, the gens still go pretty damn quick when only one or two people still do totems. I run Detectives Hunch and still end games in less than 4-6 minutes doing totems between gens.
On the PTB all the Boon totems did was make it so I couldn't be hurt or caught during chase, and if the Killer went to snuff my totem I would simply leave and hide - losing the Killer all that time, and then immediately start pressuring gens again till they found me again to rinse and repeat.
Not going to lie, it's fact that the boon totems have done more than ruin the game for Killer, and before this update I found playing Survivor too easy.

What do Boon-Perks have to do with the viability of Hex-Perks? If Boon-Perks would not exist, they would cleanse the Hexes. Boon-Perks or not, a Hex which is found will be cleansed.
So dont act like Hexes become weaker just because of Boon-Totems.
Because Boon totems gives Survivors more of a reason to seek out dull/hex totems.
Don't act like that Hexes don't become weaker just because of Boon-Totems. They do, and it's very obvious how.
-
How about the fact you can bless a Hex perk, making the Killer lose that perk for the entirety of the match, but then still rebless any dull totem even if the killer snuffs the totem.
Why even run Hex perks anymore?
-
Oppression is good against survivors splitting on gens
Deadlock is good against gen rushing

oh I know that, there are plenty of cheaters, however they make such a small minority of players I guarantee it's nothing that would have meaningful impact on the size of the playerbase. Also please consider that's only the players on Steam, it doesnt account for players on console of which literally 0% of are cheaters.
So every day I have faced blatant cheaters, changing to killer in lobby and during game, flying, infinite diversion, massively increased speed, etc, etc.
They really have no fear now it's gotten that bad. Sure you do occasionally get the subtle cheaters, but it's very clear that nothing is being done currently about the hacker issue in the game right now, and it's certainly not miniscule.
In just 20 minutes of play time CoconutRTS ran into 4 hackers. On stream.
-
I don't see what you are complaining about? With MMR being hidden, I want my MMR as low as possible for stress free games.
-
"What's that? You dislike the new SBMM?"
*Checks chart*
"Nope Killers are still getting the equivalent of 2 sacrifices in number of hooks (6) a game on average. Therefore they are having fun. Survivors are surviving longer than 2 mins into a game. Therefore they are having fun"
"Don't worry guys were going to update SBMM to work off sacrifices, *because that's what defines winning in this game*"

What I find funny is; How long did they leave so many bugs in the game during Binding of Kin? Just to remove Pinheads voicelines day of release.

How long do you think before they get nerfed?
They probably won't. The game is extremely survivor sided, they won't get nerfed until they see a significant number of Killer players leaving the game. They will ignore statistics of Killers no longer running hex perks, survivors healing too quickly, or Killers taking too long to find survivors.
So like if you're plan is to wait around till they fix bless totems, you basically just take a break from the game for a year or two.7
