I don't know who to believe!
only 60k? The game was much higher on the list a few chapters ago. To think they lost so many players in that short amount of time...
-
None. I run maybe 1 end game perk instead. Survivors will rush gens if they want to rush gens so slowdown perks are useless, but if they rush gens then an end game perk like NOED, Blood Warden, or No Way Out is going to punish them.
-
I don't like it when good survivors give me petty kills. Like do me a favor and just leave so I can get into my next match, and not give me any extra elo so my elo will drop to survivors that take the game less seriously.
-
No. As long as they can rebless totems infinitely, and bless over hexes (resulting in losing the hex). They are just going to break the game, make the current gen rush - dash to safe zone meta even worse, and make Hex perks obsolete.
-
I still upvote friendly players.
Hopefully they add a reward system for it. Like in League of Legends, it would build more incentive to be a friendly player.
-
Really? Mine's Head On, Blast Mine, Flashbang, and Diversion.
-
You can still bless hex totems, so they still break the game and will make Hex Totems obsolete
-
Honestly. I don't care anymore. It's not like they will be able to make a perfect mmr system. It's an asymmetrical game, and I am good enough at the game to face good survivors. So I play normally against people of my skill level, and then go easier on the potato's I face on the off chance.
I play survivor how I always did. Aim to pip. Escaping or dying doesn't matter.
-
A challenge should be a challenge. Should be something you can do in 1-2 trials. It shouldn't be tedious. It shouldn't force you to play without the concept of the character. It shouldn't ruin the fun for any of the players.
Like hooking 4 survivors in the basement was fine. Downing survivors with 8 hatchets is fine. Complete a gen in the killer terror radius is fine. There are harder ones to consider.
Kicking gen 20 times isn't a challenge, that's a killer taking the game hostage and only kicking gens till they get 20, and then either playing normally, or going afk till the match ends. Players are not going to want to do that in 3-4 trials. They want it done asap, and waste the least amount of time. Not using the killers power isn't a challenge, that defeats the purpose of playing the killer. If I can win without using traps as trapper, then I can win with wraith without cloaking. That's not a challenge.

Because I've sat through 4 years of these surveys and I know that what they say and what they mean have been 2 different things since 2017. Combine that with basic common sense and you arrive here.
Bold of you to assume how long I have been active on this game.

At this point you seem to be missing the point of the question on purpose.

It's more of a "In the case of this killer, how much easier of a time do swf have than solos?". See the above comments in relation to this about Doctor and Pig.
And how would you know the point or what it means? Did you make the survey? Also if they meant that, then wouldn't you think they would of wrote that?
You should stop speaking for BHVR.

But does it give specific strengths that solos would not have against that one killer?
You have the coordination everywhere but using @Aven_Fallen's doctor example does not affect doctor in any real way. The survivors don't suddenly gain a blanket immunity from Static Blast.
To use a different example, Pig. Players can call out their position, which for a stealth killer is substantially worse for them.
Or to use the actual example from the question, Pinhead. SWF can coordinate boxes with others on their team and so they have an advantage vs Pinhead that solos would not normally get through being on comms.
I hope this made sense.
The blanket statement is;
"The following is a list of qualities that may or may not apply to any given Killer. Please evaluate to what degree each statement is true of "X"."
SWF still has an easier time against any killer. Period. Communication is the most powerful tool in any game. In Doctor's case, sure his power can affect solos and swf the same way, that can be said about any killer, but a SWF can communicate when the killer is using, has used their power, track it's cool down, and communicate lockers or distance to avoid it. In addition to the same aspect they can communicate objective locations, and the killer locations during the entirety of the game.
Regardless whoever the killer is. There is not any Killer in the game or ever will be, that can remove communication from SWF. SWF will always help against every single killer to exist in the game.

This question is not that hard to understand.
E.g. Doctor - does SWF change anything from Doctor? Do the players not get shocked suddenly? Doctor has the same ability against SWF like he has against Solos.
Not the answer I would give. SWF makes facing every killer easier
-
BHVR are you okay?
How do you answer this question to say "Yes SWF helps against this killer"

I get zero toxicity because I'm smart. I close post game lobby chat.
That's not good. That is literally the response players got for the growing toxicity in World of Warcraft, and we all know what happened to them later on.
Is that what we should of BHVR? Is it just a smaller version of Blizzard right now?
Or would BHVR rather be like Square Enix.
The comparison is really good, and pretty damn real. Dead by Daylight has two ways to go, and right now they are on the Blizzard path.

Every so often I look up to hopefully see a shooting star, but I know full well I won't hear the sound of a roaring chainsaw from above ever again.

I just had to make this thread because reading through the forums gives me a headache sometimes.
I probably should not even be browsing this place right now since I am taking a break from DBD, but holy #########, I didn't think the "Us vs Them" mentality could get worse but it has.
I would just like to remind everyone here that you are not fighting in a war, you're playing a VIDEO GAME. You're playing something for fun. You can literally drop this at any time you want.
Survivor main this, Killer main that... It's getting to the point where no one is actually discussing or talking about anything and just parrot the same ######### over and over again. What's the point of a forum?
Flavour of the week seems to be about Dead Hard and Deathslinger. And instead of any actual discussion about how these two aspects of the game can be changed for the better. It's just a shitshow of people fighting. It's so ######### tiring, I legitimately wonder if BHVR should even listen to threads and suggestions in this forum because it's such an unproductive waste of time.
Not to say I'm not guilty of this myself... But I have gotten weary about it. I have some suggestions for the game which I think could make the game so much better. But I do run the risk of running into people who think my suggestions are rooted in me being "biased" as a "Survivor main" or a "Killer main".
Just... Who gives a ######### about that? I just want this game to be fun for both sides, I want to feel like the Killer is a threat in my survivor games, I want to feel like I have to work for my kills as Killer. How is that not an opinion someone can supposedly have without being a main of something?
I play this game casually, I don't want to feel the need to "git gud". If I make suggestions, it's with fun for both sides in mind. But right now the game is so ######### dull and stale that I just want to see something different.
Urgh... Sorry about the rant, but holy ######### this forum can feel like it's two echo chambers fighting each other. It's enough to drive someone nuts.
If a player drops it, they will fall behind in rift/tomes/playtime/devotion compared to other players.
Players want to be able to keep playing the game, and it be fun. So they complain because it feels like a job.

We do take action against harassment/communication abuse and whilst I naturally can't comment on a specific case, it's distinctly possible that a temporary ban was given out as per our Game Rules information shown here:

How long is a temporary ban?

I think PvP games can often bring out the worst in people, that's why we enabled a chat filter, in an attempt to prevent these things from happening so much. (you can also use the arrows to close chat completely, which I know a lot of players have done).
Unfortunately we have no control about things that happen outside of the game, so messages sent on console chat or even on Steam profiles etc. Those are down to the platform that they're on to manage - and I'm pretty sure that they do take things like this seriously (with regards to death threats here). And that's the same on Twitch, it's down to them to police their platform.
And the word "toxic" gets thrown around so much right now, to me personally I don't think things that happen in game that are within the game rules, are toxic - what becomes toxic to me, is people abusing others in aftergame chat or as mentioned above, other places other than the game.
But other games take severe action against players who are blatantly being bigots and encouraging suicide. I want to take this opportunity to bring up that a player told me to kill myself on Tuesday, October 5th. My report got a response that action would be taken, but they can't disclose information. Then I faced that player again Today October 7th. Not even 3 days later, just for me to re-open an update the ticket again.
That's disgusting.
-
Yeah? Killers are literally balanced around the requirement that they have to take slowdown to balance trials.

@SunderMun said:
Of course they're aware, but as long as EAC exists despite doing literally nothing they have an excuse.
Tbf, they could be working on something or trying to procure a contract for a better anticheat and we wouldn't know; I doubt it can happen overnight, but let's be frank, the cheating has been happening all along - it's just exacerbated by the lack of punishment and the awful new matchmaking system.
It obviously has increased since the new SBMM came out, and stretched rez / overlays came more to light.
Players basically responded to SBMM as the game turning competitive so they seeked out hack clients for the competitive edge. It happened in Counter Strike, League, Dota, Overwatch, Apex, and every other competitive game out there. Some players just got sick of the unfair advantage they had against players with overlays and stretched rez, so they resort to cheating to fill the gab. Other players just got sick of how stressful the game is for solo survivor or Killers, which isn't being addressed and they keep buffing SWF.
Like you would be blind not to see how it's become much more popular recently, especially considering all the factors that would drive more players to do it. The fact they are seemingly doing nothing about it just makes players feel safer doing so, and once they get away with it for a bit - their hooked.

We're not going to have a fun match if it doesn't go in our favor, unless we don't care about winning.
Right now those who play as killers, they're not having fun because they are barely get 1 or 2 kills.
I guess their mentality remained as it was even before the system was changed to SBMM. They come with a mentality that they are going to "win" in that match but in this game there is really no winner.
They can have fun with hooking survivors and not getting a kill.
Personally i find it fun and if i manage to get a kill, it's more fun but not a big deal.
It's very easy to enjoy this game but it has become a kind of competition.
My stress and frustration stopped completely when i decided to have fun with the match and not care about winning.
What about back to back games where you get no hooks, and the gens are done in 3-4 minutes? Then a 30-40min que time just to get the exact same survivors with the exact same Haddonfield map offering, with the exact same sweaty builds, and items?
-
That's probably the plan. They are already so powerful there isn't any point for a Killer to run Hex Perks. Survivors are going to always run at least one of the two boon totems, and then most will use maps or another perk to find totems for them. That's so much totem pressure, there won't be any reason to run Hex perks, they are guaranteed to break early in the match and then your down a perk for the whole match that you got 0 value out of.
-
That's a bronze level build.

Imagine if Huntress lost a hatchet every time she used m1

No, he doesn't need one. It's not as strong as people make it out to be, actually it's pretty useless.

Because some people have no clue to run a Wraith, apparently.
Seriously? How hard is;
He's cloaked, so pallet camp without room for him to put himself between me and the pallet. He's uncloaking and will come around the corner a bit faster so I drop the pallet faster.
Also He's cloaked so i'll stand infront of this window till he's nearly uncloaked and then vault.
Wraith even after the buff was always a non-issue.
-
Absolutely. I loved it when it came out. I was surprised so many people didn't like it, but I am pretty sure it was because the cult that follows a particular toxic influencer is to blame for that. Then right when people started to learn how to play it -boom- no more license, and they plan to remove it.
Breaks my heart.
-
Cult Following
-
Not bannable, why are pc players so toxic? The chat feature. Not one Killer joins this game with the plan to be toxic, it's the toxic survivors that bm them in end game chat at later levels that makes them start to not care anymore, and look to punish players more than playing to have fun.
If you keep being a good sport about the game, over time you will see less toxic players. Unfortunately this would have to be a group effort, as the Support teams does nothing to prevent toxicity in the game. (Actually the game design at it's core is designed to stress you out, and make players more toxic)

Too weak

"the game you tried to joined is no longer available"

Rank 1 Survivor/Killer . Running only meme builds. If against sweaty Survivor/Killer and the game isn't fun, then Sui Hook/Camp/AFK . No point playing a game you are not having fun in, by the end of the day it's just that. Just a game.
BHVR is not paying you to be here, you should be having fun.

Legion. It's too easy to counter their power, not using his power increases the cooldown on their power, their power isn't that strong, and they are an extremely simple concept.
-
I didn't mind he was weak, he was fun.
-
That moment when you run Undying and Devour Hope, and the totems stay up because the survivors assume they are Haunted Grounds - until it's too late.
-
He would be really cool if he had voice lines
-
Probably because it's the actual questions we want answered. We want to know why the game is so survivor. We want to know why they are okay with camping/tunneling. We want to know what role they play, or if they even play the game (because that leads into answering why the game is so survivor sided).
These are important questions like any other, and are also most often ignored, because BHVR cherry picks the questions.
-
They should be able to place their Hexes and hex dull/blessed totems if their hex get's destroyed.
-
They better be working at getting those voice lines back. Otherwise that is just false advertising

Survivors do not get insanely strong perks. When was the last strong or meta survivor perk that we have received?

Why do you think that I'm upset? I'm not upset, I'll just stop playing the game, it's no skin off my nose.
"Do totems" also does nothing to address my issues with solo queue so I'm not sure why you would think that's remotely helpful.
Your only problems was with Hex Perks. Ruin and NOED. The Killers you faced only ran 1-2 slowdown. You are blaming the wrong people for why you are losing games. It's your own fault you are losing games.
Solo Survivor also is in a good place right now, and you are upset because you actually have to have skill and know how at the game to do well.
