I mean, there should be games where even if you try your absolute best, you shouldnt be able to get a 3k. Just as there are survivor games where even if you try your absolute best, there wont be a 3 escape. That simply should be part of the game.
As for higher ranks leaning towards survivors, no, definitely not. The game doesnt start leaning towards survivors unless you play on tournament levels or against a team of survivors that simply have much more gameknowledge than you or as a team have equal gameknowledge as you.
Fundamentally, the game is survivor sided. Practically, it's killer sided. All the statistics show that killers win in the vast majority of games. All RED RANK killers have an average kill rate of over 60%, and that being the low end(excluding Nurse, since Nurse has the hardest learning curve, making her drag down the kill rate). The average killrate(again, excluding Nurse) along all killers is 70%. That means the average killrate per game is essentially a 3k. If the game was practically survivor sided, the average escape rate would lean towards 3 escapes. Yet it does not. The average escape rate barely exceeds 1 and that is thanks to the hatch. Remove the hatch, and that average escape rate will drop below 1.
Yet there are killers still demanding the hatch to be gone, without realizing what that should mean to the game in general. For the hatch to be removed, survivors need higher natural escape rates against all killers.
Only at a tournament level is the game survivor sided, and even then it requires comms to actually be survivor sided.
This is exactly why people say that killer want 4k everytime.
Even if people don't say it outright. Asking for the hatch to be gone, or that freddy is fine and every killer should be as strong as freddy when there's already a 70% average killrate. Is just another way of saying the killers want 4k every game.
That's not reasonable.
-
If you compare Nurse or other killer that takes skill vs survivor. Sure
But something like clown or freddy or bubba is way easier than playing survivor. You can turn your brain off and roll your face on the keyboard.

The game REWARDS players with high latency... Shouldn't it be the other way around?
The SOLUTION is simple...
Just drop the pallets BEFORE getting into a chase.
There are map with less than 8 pallet. Your solution isn't really applicable in those case. You would empty the map in no time doing that. Then you lose automatically.

I feel this mentality is BHVRs fault. Survivor's are used to getting what they want because they are the majority. It's not just killer's and their add ons that cause people to quit. I've had people rage quit because they were the first one to be found. I think we need a penalty for giving up on your first hook. Put in some requirement:
- If your on your first hook, you struggle to kobe and fail, you do not even bother to struggle then you get a dc penalty.
- If you were on the hook for a good amount of time and you struggled, no penalty. The killer could have been camping or your team just did not attempt the save.
- If your killed within the first 4 mins of a match, dc penalty. You either suck or you gave up.
- If your the last 2 people left in a match no penalty. I've gone an entire match without being hooked. It was down to me and one other teammate. I got caught. The killer was doing well so all gens weren't complete. I gave up on the hook so my teammate could find the hatch.
I hope dev don't forget that they are making a game. It would be terrible if they would listen to this guy.
People are frustrated and suiciding on hook. Instead of answering their frustration and make the game more enjoyable. Let's make this game north korea so you can't even stop pressing space.
-
That wouldn't stop me from suiciding on hook. Who cares about point anyway apart from new players that need to level up their characters.
-
Pipping doesn't matter if anything they should make it harder to pip. So i don't end up in red rank even if i die every game
-
For the same reason hook and generator aura aren't shown to survivor. Different role, different information.
It's one of the way to balance the game bringing solo closer to swf.
-
Because killer are always complaining, killer whining about loop ? dev nerf most loop and promote alternative playstyle. Killer don't like stealth -> nerf stealth.
I swear the killer playerbase are just a bunch of 12 yo.

you dont know their coming you know they're nearby thats a big difference
You can deduct that easily with game knowledge.

Being "undetectable" shouldn't trigger spine chill
Why not. What's the point of the perk if not to counter stealth killer. If they have a terror radius i know they are coming there's no point.
If you nerf this perk it's one more perk that will never get used. It's easy to counter you don't even need a perk. Alot of survivor perk are countered by game mechanics which is a killer advantage.
-
Yeah it's bugged. They fixed the direction in the ptb but they still feel weird
-
Time to remove dc penality again.

Even though michael and ghostface have "undetectable" yet sc ignores the undetectable status effect? (Which nullifies all aura reading and reduces your tr to zero) for consistency reasons sc shouldn't be special. Undetectable should mean just that.
spine chill isn't an aura reading perk so of course it works. Sc users don't know where you are coming from. They just know you are coming.
-
Botany knowledge is more consistent and better. Stop crying about meh perks.
It's fake hype kinda like autodidact and soulguard
-
That's the point less god palette more hiding. You can't have it all.
I like looping more but since all killers main cried for month this is what we get.

Just curious, how many hours do you have in the game and what rank are you?
It sounds like you're playing at around rank 20. Inexperienced killers will camp and tunnel because they don't know any better, if you're going down to them to inexperienced killers then that's on you.
If you're playing survivor at the higher levels, you don't really need to use second chance perks to escape. You don't even need to use perks as survivor currently. If you do need to use second chance perks to a chance to escape, then again that's on you.
Killer camp on all ranks including red

There really is a need for a weaker basekit ds.

but the perks are good?
No they aren't. And it's not because they are non meta. There's tons of non meta perks that are still usable and good.
We'll make it for example. While it's not seen every game it's still a good non situational perk with a powerful effect.

Survivors are supposed to be weak compared to the killer. This is an asymmetrical game, you're not supposed to be able to 1v1 the killer. If the survivors' base kit was improved they'd still use every second-chance perk ever, because it'd make them unstoppable.
That's easy to say when as a killer only your own skill matter. But when you are playing survivor there's alot of unpredictability. You should still be able to impact the game as a solo player which mean being able to 1v1.
If i'm a way better player than the killer i should be able to make my team win.
-
Those perks are needed because survivor base mechanics are too weak compared to killer.
They need to improve the base kit of survivor in order for us to stop relying on second chance

I never said it was better than second chance perks. Second chance perks are way overtuned and overshadow everything as they have for years.
Botany is only better with 2 or less. This perk also includes dead and hooked, not just injured. The likelyhood of have 3 or more injured, hooked, or dead is quite high. It's kind of an anti slug perk as well.
If you're running anything outside of the full second chance meta, it's on par.
They aren't overtuned the rest is just trash. I wish we could have a sabotage build that could work at least 75% of the time. but it never work right now it's in the meme build category, there's too many hooks on the map. Survivor perks in general are way undertuned and situational. That's why people run second chance perk. Because there's a guarantee it will get used and it will be useful.

DS, adrenaline, unbreakabill, soul guard. All of those are often run and none of them are consistent.
As far as swf, most if not all perks are balanced in solo q. SWF consistently breaks things. This perk will be one of those things. Rarely useful for solo but in a coordinated group, it will be awesome.
DS can be consistent based on your playstyle. Unbreakable synergize with ds, adrenaline is pretty consistent if you are a good player because you are either the last one down or you win the game and it give you a free heal at 5 gen. Soul guard isn't used that much it's too situational.
-
Those thread need to stop. It's a situational perk like all survivor perks. It can only be used in swf in a controlled environment. It might not even be that good either.
-
Another dlc i won't buy. Survivor perks are useless.
-
Just wait a bit so people can actually learn to play the killer before asking for buff or nerf
-
It's very bad. Resilience is better in every way.
Killer perks looks op tho

Playing as one. FP camera can actually screw you over.
That's literally how the game is balanced. You run faster, have special power to cut down chase. Survivor have pallets and a superior camera view.
This will not change. It's at the core of dbd game design. It's like asking to remove pallet/windows entirely.
Everything is built on those simple concept. Such as "there's pallet on the map" "Killer camera is first person"

No its not, as soon as the killer swings to you you are just pressing E and gain a second chance. And that 3x per game. If the killer respects it you can try to wait your DH out and use it exactly when he swings. But in many situations the killer just cant respect it, or he plays a killer like nurse and cant really counter it. It doesn't really take much skill at all you just face the direction of a pallet or window and press one button. Or just DH away from his hit.
If you wait for killer to swing you'll get dedicated and get exhausted on the ground 100% of the time. It's not as easy as pressing E especially when the killer can just wait for you to use your deadhard by getting close to you without swinging.
-
Use ruin. You can't tap the gen if the killer have ruin

Bullshit..I do it all the time..that's a misconception who try to use bad players to prove a point
You might need to try this against good spirit then.

@immortalls96 said:
People need to remember this is a 1v4..1..v..4..not 1v1..now if we were to change her..give her a small tell during her phase on her husk..like a passive phasing flicker , for the moment her phase starts..it gives survivors some warning but let's spirit keep her mind games,, increases her skill floor a bit but doesnt knee cap her vs good teams
It might be a 1v4 but you are with random with no communication and questionnable looping skills sometimes. I personnaly treat this game as a 1v (1v1v1v1). My teammate can be my allies but they can also unhook me near the killer without bt/sandbag me/ loop the killer near my hook which can make them my enemy.
My opinion is that you shouldnt need iron will to even have a chance at juking spirit. Currently it's kinda that way you either have iron will and you can manage her(if she doesnt have stridor) or she can track you all the time and there's nothing you can do. All those backtracking jukes/walking don't work against a good spirit with a headset.

I'm both solo queue and killer. I've never been, and likely never will be, in a SWF. SWFs need nerfs or killers need buffs, which is it? If you're BHVR, I doubt you nerf your cash cow.
buff solo to be on swf level then you can buff killer.
-
@Zeus said:
Before EGC you can just open the gates and hold the game hostage. Now you 99% it and hold it hostage.
Nobody is holding the game hostage. The killer can go to the gate and activate EGC

@Masochistic_Killer said:
I don't think survivors are OP, I think killers are weak and should be balanced around SWF, which they aren't.
Balancing around SWF is a stupid idea. Solo will get screwed if you do that and that's a bigger portion of player than killers.
-
Most of survivor perks are either straight up bad or too situational. Stop crying about perks that are a useful. We never see you guys trying to buff the useless survivor perks. It's all nerf nerf nerf.
I think most of you need to get good it's not hard to bait dead hard.
-
Most of the time it's not gen rush. If there's nobody on hook and nobody to heal you can't blame survivor for doing gens. That's literally the goal of the game. To do gen and to escape.

Sometime it doesn't work. I literally saw the bt icon. Then a billy just chainsaw me through it. Still have no idea how it happend.

Some killer need a big fat nerf before they touch ds
-
I wish they would put locker a bit farther away from palette and window.
I hate it when i loop a killer, press space and i end up going in the locker instead of vaulting the pallet.

If you self care on the spot, it is more efficient than even walking 1 metre to find a survivor to heal you.
Self care = 32 seconds of your time
Healed by a team mate = 16 seconds of your time + 16 seconds of a team mates time = 32 seconds.
What about these survivors that don't run self care and then run all around the map looking for someone to heal them. I'd take the self-care team-mate over those players.
That's not how you are supposed to play. You don't go around the map searching for someone to heal you. You just wait on a gen injured (if you have iron will it's entirely manageable) and most of the time you will find another survivor coming in that can heal you after the gen.
-
@sulaiman said:
Explain how it wastes time plz, because that is nonsense.
Because most people use it as a crutch to avoid getting better at looping. So they get hit more than they should. Once they are injured they panick (because they aren't confident in their looping) and waste 32 seconds (minimum that's more when the killer have sloppy) instead of doing a gen and waiting for a teammate to heal them.
The longer the game the more likely you will lose. Self care player make the game last longer.
-
This game isn't a competitive game. The fact that there's mori and keys and bs one shot addons is just the proof that it isn't.
So if you use all the broken killer arsenal then you slug for the 4k. Yeah you are one good sweaty boy that probably take the game too seriously.

@Tricks said:
This was only ever possible on Killers back when they hosted matches. As Survivors never hosted matches they have never been able to lag switch. And now that Killers no longer host matches as matches are now hosted in private servers it is no longer possible to lag switch.
/Infallible_Logic.Exe
I've seen it happen just today tho. Getting hit from huge distance, not being able to wiggle getting instantly teleported to the hook.
The same thing can happen when you are killer and they make you unable to pick them up.
-
I bet most console killer player with tv speaker so they are not used to headset killers that can hear everything

@Boosted_Dwight said:
There's an option to disable crossplay in your settings if you don't want it.
Yeah then you need to wait 10mn to find a match
-
idk it might be easier to depip as a killer but it's also way easier to double pip. So it kinda evens out
-
Yes they should at least for killer they shouldn't see this kind of information.
-
Crossplay is a straight buff to pc killer. They get faster queue of clueless survivor that are used to play against handicaped killer.
For everyone else it's just bad. I don't want to play with console player but since it's activated by default queue time are too big if you disable it.
