Oh I could go into a lot of detail on all that haha. I gotta get off though, I got work in the morning. I sent you a friend request on discord. We'll chat it up on some of these ideas soon, it's a lot to type. I'm online quite frequently.
Good. Have a nice sleep and good day at work. As far as I know ill be free all day therefore we can discuss as soon as possible.possible

i’m seriously after some tips on how i can stay calm going against deathslinger. i’m okay going against any other killer but deathslinger makes me so aggravated and i just completely loose my composure.
Its not that i struggle going agaisnt him or anything, i just find him so unfun and annoying. getting shot from yonks away and hit is the worse feeling and you just don’t feel outplayed, it feels cheesy and not right.
Normally i just kill myself on hook against him, not because i want to be that one player or ruin my teammates game but i just hate everything about him. i’m sure they all wanna let go on hook aswell.
What are some ways that yous don’t get pissed off when going against a killer you don’t like?
Deathslinger is my most hated the way he laughs, the toxic behavior lots of them do. I hate it. I hate slingers bad design and so he is the only killer ill kill myself against quickly others I will try against if im having a bad day but if I have a bad day slinger will break mr

Can you use discord? I'm on the official DBD discord a decent amount. I don't typically stream much but I can probably record for it.
I could see an argument for reducing the amount of guessing in the game or adding some additional counter play to things like Spirit. However that said, as I got into a little earlier the game would need to be significantly slowed down to allow for it. Some of the things in the game that people feel aren't "fun" game play are currently a necessity because of game speed. IE camping/tunneling/slugging/"counter play". This is a generality I'm applying for a point rather than specifics so don't take me too literally here but you get my point.
There are a lot of different issues contributing to this problem though, it isn't just a couple singular things. Most have been around for years.
No I 100 percent take it literally because its 100 percent true. The gameplay needs to be shaken up and gen speeds are too fast but they are also fine in normal games so I dont think they need to be slower but have more interactive gameplay. Same with the loops I think we shouldnt have to worry about randomized loops maybe add buildings or sheds and some high grass on maps make it good for hiding and then there is no guarantee what you can have. What if you have a looping build but only t walls? Or a hiding build with a regular map. And give killers powers some better effects on the gameplay. Somehow like if oni is in rage mode since he is giant you can hear him map wide and your character stumbles every now and then or screen shakes. Although i think that could be a game mode like a realism mode or something. And yes I do have discord it is Komodo16#2569

Spirits counterplay is having 4 survivors to spread pressure on the killer who has no easy team wide map pressure only relies on hooks and chase potential to mount pressure
very specifically lowering the amount of survivors in the match makes her much stronger so congrats you counterplayed her only counterplay and ruined the match for your teamates
Saying gens is the objective its counterplay to everyone not killers specifically. Killing survivors is also counterplay but we know that and its pointless to say it. More accurate thing is like oh to counter dead hard wait it out lunge at the end of turn 180 instead of saying kill them. Thats or oh how do I loop clown? Dont die. Do gens. When you have to waste pallets maybe get ONE loop in.

Well we're definitely making generalities here for sure. Of course there are many loops that are low wall or have holes in them like shack. I'm speaking more in regards to high wall loops without holes.
I don't think anyone with a decent amount of hours thinks pallets counter Huntress. The scenario I was providing wasn't implying pallets as a counter but simply to provide a hypothetical scenario to illustrate our "counter play"/guessing comparison.
I would agree the Trapper example is a good one to illustrate actual counter play. I'd also argue though that it's one of the reasons he's extremely weak as well aka non viable in my eyes (we probably have different definitions of viable). I suppose my general point wasn't to say that all other killers don't have counter play by our hypothetical definition from above, but simply to point out that there are a lot of killers/base game play that would be guessing and not actual "counter play" by our interpretation.
I appreciate the compliment and I'd love to do just that sometime. Some of these conversations can be a bit more lengthy and confusing to elaborate on through text. Voice is much faster and more thorough. I can talk about DBD for days.
Feel free to add me.
I cant stream because Wi-Fi trash. And frankly I dont have pc so I wouldnt know how to make the video. Me and azame were supposed to do one for his channel but now that he has pc he wants to focus on gameplay. So is there a place we can talk and figure this out. And back to original convo yeah I agree some killers counterplay requires guessing and that's why its not total counterplay and is annoying a good huntress is annoying but fun. A good Slinger is worse than spirit. Spirit is ok honestly once you get better at looping she isnt too difficult but then again there arent many good spirits. Pyramid head isn't that bad because you can read which direction. Be will use it unless he is bad he might get you by surprise. And as for high walls you can always have an area to see. Short wall gym you have to shift tech to get the vault by waiting last second to vault. I still need to learn how to run that gym better and long wall you can wait at corners to see and no matter what they do its no guessing game and regular pallet gyms are the most annoying because they feel so unsafe and I wish I lnew how to loop those effectively against a mindgamer and t wall are just trash honestly

I actually think Tru3s video discredited Scotts. Up to interpretation I suppose though.
I see why you would call that not "counter play" per say. However, if we go that direction of interpretation we could start discrediting other "counter play" we have in the game.
For example:
You're looping a high wall pallet and the red stain turns the other way. Most people call that a mind game or counter play to the loop, but if we go by what we're saying above it's not because now you're just making a 50/50 guess as to whether he's faking it or really turning.
You loop a Huntress through a pallet. Will they throw it down and you should pull back the hatchet or will they continue running through? Once again, is that a mind game or counter play? Most would say it is, however it's really just once again a 50/50 guess.
My point is that either the Spirit strategy I provided above is indeed counter play or all this other "counter play" in the game isn't really counter play either. The only real difference is that Spirit forces the guess/counter play more often instead of just at loops like most killers.
Well if you loop something you can keep eyes on it and get to the pallet. I dont mean to sound rude but if thats. Your experience in looping as survivor you could improve unless you are generalizing. But a good survivor can just wait at certain spots and not get hit. Anyone who thinks pallets are counterplay to huntress is an idiot 😂 but I do agree on that but that goes more into looping instead of killer specific. Albeit its my fault for not realizing that I opened doors to talk about other things. Well like lets say you go against trapper one for sure counterplay anyone can do is disarming traps, walking to see traps and to avoid areas he was around of you are im chase. Legion is to split up, etc. Btw I love talking with you. You make me think and have very reasonable conversation and id love to talk about some game mechanics with you on a youtube video at some point since you are a pretty reasonable person.

"If she has duration add ons maybe. You say 4.4 meters a second without power takes 30 seconds. 4.4 x 30 at least 120 meters away. Not feasible."
You misunderstand. 10 seconds x 3 for each survivor on a gen. IE I'm saying you wasted 10 seconds, not 30.
"but a good spirit wouldn't fall for that of she goes against good survivors."
Even if she's good, every time you make this play she is still doing a 50/50 guess. Even if she gets the guess wrong only half the time y'all have won when you look at the time for those. Keep in mind that's also for one hit, not 2 for a down.
No matter how good or bad she is those plays are forcing her to make a guess.
The reason this all works is because you beat Spirit by forcing her to react to you, not you reacting to her. This is the complete opposite of how you play against all other killers. This is what most players don't understand.
Hmm I guess in reality though theres little counterplay to both sides when spirit is involved then. Also my bad on that misunderstanding. But if spirit has to guess like us then its not a true counter for either side. I mean I always knew she didnt have any REAL counterplay but thats because my definition is different so im not saying you're wrong. I just knew it was always a guessing game. Like tru3 video made me realize what you can do against her and Scott's video showed how those tips weren't good. At least all the time

It's not a 1v1v1v1v1 because you aren't against your teammates as survivors. If you look at it like this for balance the game will never be balanced that way.
We are also assuming they are all on gens if they aren't in chase because we are assuming "good" survivors vs a "good" Spirit. We'd never have a balanced game if we're gonna balance around bad players. Good survivors aren't wasting time.
The Spirit is chasing you across the field towards a jungle gym. We're going to assume phasing after you because if she's really 110% coming at you across the field then you literally just gave your team near 30 seconds of a gen before the loop standoff has even started. That's a win for you if she does that.
As she phases after you, you fast vault the window and then slow vault back over. Now all she has is tracks to the window and a loud noise notification at the window to go by. She is now completely guessing a 50/50 of whether you committed or faked it. Most Spirits will assume you committed and go straight around as most people don't know how to play against Spirit, won't fake it, and instead come to these forums complaining. Now you're on opposite sides of the wall with her power on cooldown. She should never be getting a hit on you at a loop running 110% with her power on cooldown. Even if we assume her power comes back up and she gets her hit on the next phase that entire fiasco has cost her almost an entire gen for one hit. I'd even argue you have a decent chance of mind gaming her for another phase until you're injured as while you're still healthy she can barely hear you and the mind games are significantly easier.
Multiply that 4 or so more times and ya'll have won the match. Time is on ya'lls side, not hers.
If she has duration add ons maybe. You say 4.4 meters a second without power takes 30 seconds. 4.4 x 30 at least 120 meters away. Not feasible. I want to discuss this so please give some more feasible numbers just so we can both be on one basis. I could easily just say she will either lose her ability before or after you vault meaning she would see you. And as I said these arent counters necessarily they ate prayers. I do agree that is one that will definitely work but a good spirit wouldn't fall for that of she goes against good survivors. Thatd why its an iffy subject that can be disputed on all sides. Also it relies on your personal feelings of what counterplay is too. So we can agree right here on both of what we said or we can sue actual stats to try and understand one another's side more.

Not at all. She's one of the top tier killers for a reason.
I just think people exaggerate when talking about how little counter play she has. The counter play is difficult, it's why she's strong, but it is there. Her counter play is completely the opposite of most killers and I can go into it in detail if you'd like.
I think too many people think of this game as a 1v1 instead of a 4v1, which is where the confusion comes from. With how fast gens go in this game the killer needs to get a hit or a pallet in 15-20 seconds, at most. How many killers can realistically do that against equally good survivors? Very few. Even 15 seconds for that one hit cost the killer more than half an entire gen. 15x3=45 seconds of a gen.
What's my point?
My point is that the length of time that most survivors want chases to last is quite simply put unviable for the killer to still win. So the chases have to be so super short for the killer to have a chance at pressuring which is why a good Nurse or Spirit is viable. They can reasonably make this time.
How do we fix this?
Slow down the gens so that killers are able to have long chases without it costing them the entire match. This way survivors get their long/fun chases and we don't have to make killers that can down so quickly.
Most survivors just think about how fast their chase was without realizing how much that cost the killer. Every 1 second of the killers time you waste is 3 seconds your team gained on a gen.
Depends if they are on gens, but this game isn't a 4v1 in the bones thats the flesh. Its a 1v1v1v1v1 in the bones of it all. But her counters are drop a pallet early so she thinks you went through the other side, or they call it or even more hear your breathing or yet again they end the phase and see you. I don't think counters should rely on chance and gens aren't counterplay they are objective. Thats like saying a counterplay to survivors is killing them

Survivors dying very often to Spirit =/= Spirit is too strong or has no counter play.
The average survivor is just bad.
Amazing survivors vs an amazing Spirit, the Spirit will lose almost every time. I also don't mean just swf, even a full good set of solo's.

The amount of Spirits at the level where there is very little counter play is extremely rare. Similar to a god tier Nurse.
The vast majority of Spirits and Nurses you face have a good amount of counter play, even at rank 1.
They are way different ball games dude. Also it comes to the skill of discerning sound. Also knowing survivor loops. If you know that and are good with her you can be unstoppable without enough gen pressure. The spirit at red rank right now suck they used to be better. And I definitely dont think I got better because I do the same ######### I always tried. Plus I 3k with spirit rarely, 2k more rarely and 1k VERY RARELY. I have 1k one time or even never and 2k maybe 3 times and 3k a couple on that
-
@Blueberry said:
I don't seem to have these same issues with Spirit at all. She's quite out playable.
You have a point. When they suck. I barely go against spirits anymore and when I do they suck. When I went against good spirit they always knew what I was gonna do at shack. They always catch you. I agree there is ways to outplay her but its not really a counter because it is hit or miss. Crouching behind obstacles always works on Huntress unless you time it wrong thats a counter. at least imo. Also you can hear if a survivor vaults a pallet slowly. I had phased and heard the breathing get closer so I downed them. Idk playing her is brain dead easy.

I would like to know from survivors that don't play in a party what their experience is to achieve less than 3.
I am towards devotion 4 and I can rank 4 at my best when I rarely happened to play in party with better ranked people, but when I am on my own - like 80% of the time - or in a party of other 2 of similar or worse rank, I get stably at rank 5. Plus, I don't like playing as killer 😅
Is there any one here that plays alone and achieve rank 1 or 2 at all? What is your strategy? Do you stick to one set of perks? Do you mostly engage with the killer, e.g. being purposely chased, stunning the killer etc? Or are you more passive, e.g. prone to hiding, doing gens, healing, unhooking and this sort of things? Also, do you play as killer? Could playing from the prospective of the killer be an advantage for your survivor rank? Because my guess is that to excel as survivor you must know your enemy, and all of that tacit knowledge that probably people like me ignore if they rarely play as killer could be exploited too (e.g. movement speed, cool-down time, ...).
I usually go itemless so when I dont get healed I lose out on points because if im injured all game I cant be risky and go for saves. I used to get bad teammates for months so me being a survivor who would run and not hide I was always the first target which made me better but means I dont rank up because i either die first or run the killer all game. Now ive got good teammates but they do gens too fast so a 1 minute chase which is my usual chases end up leaving me with less gens to do and if they barely get hooked and I cant get those saves I don't get points. But all in all I probably COULD make it to rank 1 solo but I feel like that would take a sweater approach and a different greedy mindset that I dont think I'm capable of anymore.

Custom games are helpful for that kinda thing if you know someone; even if you don't ask on the forums someone will probably be happy to help for like 15 min or so.
No I am on xbox so customs are easy to find. But that means taking turns and if I play stupid and the killer is good I will die and eventually they'll catch on. Plus if I go against a bad killer I can heal myself mid chase or whatever and I can let them kill me at end game. Red rank killers are usually better than that and if you dont know the new timing you'll just get killed and if I use the 2 new tricks to window teching its not gonna be the more skilled and effective way thats normal. Also bad killers vault everything almost so I get more chances

Dude dead hard is the ONLY exhaustion perk that effects looping. If you use lithe or sb or balanced to loop you are not a good survivor. You should RUN AWAY. When I dropped dead hard and switched to sb my looping got better because I couldn't use it in loops because I had to run places.

It's just that we get a lot of players that aren't as familiar with the game coming onto the forums complaining of hackers when the person just doesn't understand certain skills/perks/addons, didn't realize they were used, or simply the killer just guessing luckily. This is more than often the case and is why people are more skeptical. I could be a little more reasonable if it was on other platforms than PC as I can't speak for those, however for PC I'm basing this low hacker rate on a pretty substantial sample size (larger than probably 99% of the player bases sample sizes), which is why I give it such credence.
Good im surprised you didnt discredit me, I feel like a lot of people on this forum think I suck or am dumb. Well console dont have hackers as much as pc as rule of thumb kinda. If you somehow hack it you are gonzo. I NEVER faced a hacker before cosplay. Every hacker I seen or any killer who seemed really fast was crossplay. But one Cheryl picked herself up when the whole team was dead without any perk to pick herself up and one time a PH hacked to hit me on fun bus by making his potd activate faster and when he realized I slow vaulted crane to trick him he heard the grunt and sligshotted around at blood lust 3 even tho I broke chase and nhe only chased long enough for bl 1. But as soon as he caught up to me he slowed down to seem less suspicious. Also more on the point of console and pc. Pc is your own property you can change the settings and the icons all sorts of #########. You can get hack tools or whatever but because a console is monitored by the company closely since its for gaming and doesnt give you freedom like a pc when you hack or change ######### you normally cant its noticed almost instantly. I would be lying if i say what im saying is exactly the reason or that I am 100 percent knowledgeable its more of a guess that makes sense but the facts are hacking is just so hard to do. Consoles are like fortresses and. Pc are like houses. Outside hacks may be hard but if its your choice you can do it.

So far it's looking like the map still relies heavily on pallets instead of putting some more vaults here an there.
Resulting in the gameplay feeling awful for both killers and survivors. Primarily because the killers will have to instantly break safe pallets instead of being able to attempt a mindgame. Then survivors have to deal with the anemic amount of windows on the map.
So the map looks to be survivor sided due to the increase in the amount of safe and god pallet spawns. Not to mention what seems to be more godawful placement of breakable walls in some inconvenient places.
We'll have to wait and see if they balance it more, or if they decide to add vaults and remove some safe pallets.
So its same as last time Where is both killer AND survivor sided depending on how fast gens go?
-
@chieften333 said:
Because the footage I've seen so far has shown that many of the pallets are either extremely safe, or outright god pallets.
Can any of you attest to this?

People are gonna talk out our hatred here. So only use it if you want to loop more. You also risk being ignored which may also help. So use it give it a try bit find out if you like it because going fur saves and healing is gonna be hard

I could see the next chapter being licensed, I just don't think it's as likely as an original. But like you said, they want to keep the schedule unpredictable, so you never know. One of the reasons why I think it'll be an original is because there are 4 more realms left that are visually "outdated" (Coldwind, Haddonfield, Swamp & Red Forest). I believe the devs want the reworks for the maps done ASAP, so if 19 was original, they would do 2 realm updates, and finish the last two in the subsequent midchapter. This would make the first new map the Anniversary Chapter, which is going to be licensed. If 19 was a license, they would most likely make a new map (due to the nature of the content), pushing the final reworks to the midchapter of 20, which would be late July-ish. 20 is definitely going to have a map, as it's gonna be a "large" license, since MCote already planted the hype seeds at the end of last year. Honestly, anything can happen, this is just my perspective on the matter.
Well I believe that they said they would never do something like that buuuut you have a good point although if they do another licensed page instead of a chapter they could bring a licensed and maybe even attack haddonfield

3 killers per year and at least 1 licensed is the schedule I believe and if the past 2 were original it has to be licensed. They said they dont want to make a habit if doing things back to back, but they want to be surprising on their schedule

So Feng Min is just a noob-stomper.

One of the more aggravating things for me personally, is when you unhook someone, you know the killer is in another chase so they won't be coming back to interrupt and the guy you unhooked just runs off. Like..ok. If you don't want to be healed, thats fine. If you want the fastest heal, you'll stay put after unhook so I can get it done or you'll follow me to a safer/better spot.
Also goes the other way, when I'm unhooked and I crouch for heals, and the guy just runs off, despite it being safe. Then I get into another chase and b/c no heal, I go down on 1st hit instead of being able to prolong it even more.. Bad feeling.
Not gonna lie I feel like when I play solo im usually injured most the match Tbh. 70 percent of my games

Because of current undying, old habbits, etc.. Most major killer mains and streamers stopped using it for the most part until undying came around; but then they stopped using that combo because it felt a bit too cheesy sometimes (Unless they were going against like a full kitted SWF or something). It could be strong if it stayed up, but it was far too unreliable and was often gone very quickly so most did not bother with it; and opted for something more reliable like corrupt and pop.
Besides; Self Care is the most used perk in the game; doesn't mean it's good.
This makes me sad a survivor main. Nerf self care

Huntress, I personally don’t see enough of them.
Eh maybe because she is hard on console. If she was as easy as she is on PC you'd see more. But if you like huntress I got a YouTube;)

Yes, but only because I am also boosted.
I have no fear in saying that I am not good enough to be a Rank 1 Survivor, let alone a Red Rank.
Haha dont swf much I had to get to red ranks myself. I do admit with the matchmaking since mmr I couldn't hit rank 1 by myself or at least I never try harder to the point I could do it. Recently I started getting good teammates surprisingly but because they do gens I end up looping the killer and all the gens are done and I cant get any damn points. So yeah I hate solo and when I swf it's always with my boosted friends. So personally I THINK I deserve red rank. But idk XD

Let’s stay on the topic and not attack the commenter. That’s just a lazy and poor substitute for an actual argument or counter point. Its also hinges on trolling.
Healthy is an understatement. It’s in most killers toolkits. Interesting how you sidestepped my point about the high number of killers that use that perk. I cannot pin down a stand out survivor perk that I see we’ll say 75% using like bbq. Love to see the game data on that perk and the percentage of matches it shows up. Bet EYE popping...
Ds is used almost every match. Bbq is not bad. Just go behind a gen or in a locker. When I was new I thought the same

Then if counters exist, but you just aren't using them, how is that the Killer's fault? Asking Killers to not take advantage of 4 Solo's is like asking Survivors to only do one gen every two minutes when there isn't any gen defence.
Ruin is not hard to find. Once you get a decent idea of totem spots, it's easy. If you really have trouble, use a map, Small Game or Detective's Hunch.
The issue is, most Survivors at Red Ranks are boosted af because of SWF and easy pip requirements. Ask them to release stats when MMR is working, then we'll have a decent idea.
Are you calling me boosted pulsy I thought we were in love :(

I don't follow...what would a 1v1 entail in a 4v1 game?
It would have certain implications. If I did a 1v1 with a regular green rank killer and lost bad it would mean I'm not deserving of my rank and I'm not good so I cant loop. I'll tell you whether you can loop and that's one key item to your survival

Snowballed as wraith to start but then ones afk and I took out a unlucky ash to fast and I 2 hooked a feng before finding a Claudette just hiding with a key not even attempting to play the match so hooked them and let the feng go as they actively tried to play the game
Last time I showed mercy there was a duo who ran soul guard mettle by and bt with for the people yet I hit the girl unhooking and somehow hit the girl saved or mettle stacks but they also had styptic so many times I had soul guard ruin crap and they played so aggressive and cocky. But to be nice I ignored my nurse literally right in front of me while she healed and hooked a slugged girl i should have just taken the match because that ######### hurt my pride. I got wrecked by a meme build

Not if you just camp next to both of them while one of them is waiting under the hook. At that point, the odds are pretty decently in your favor. :P
Of course XD but with your 8000 posts I'm damn sure you dont find fun in that unless they deserve it ;)

I am red rank.
I barely survive 5% of my games in solo queue at this rank.
I can understand it would be very tough for a killer against a red rank swf but how often does that happen??
Hence, the reason i would like to see some stats so all of us can know the truth instead of guessing.
I will be happy if the stats say :
"it's 50 50 for killers and survivors" and then i shall know that iam just bad and need to improve.
Here how about this. 1v1 me in a kyf. I'm not the best killer but I win most of my matches swf or not. If you go down to me easy it's your skill and you dont deserve red rank (not trying to be mean or make assumptions) and If you wreck me then you get some GOOD killers.

So I got caught and hooked just to be camped. Once saved was tunneled non stop until death on hook. Then they just let everyone else finish gens and leave. #########? This is why I rather run the meta perks and play toxic because when I try to be different I get screwed. So back to the usual easy escape builds and toxic play. Killers whine and complain but continue to be toxic aswell. Screw it. Cant beat'em join'em.
Calm down man. If you like this game just keep playing and learn to accept crap happens. There's always the next one. Dont become toxic to reply to anger. Only do it to the people who do it to you. Like cocky survivors hook rushing or healing in front of you cuz they think you're gonna be bad or the killers who play like scum from the beginning. You won't get sympathy because people here have been here through what you went through and dont play toxic. It takes experience to get over this stuff but if you can it feels great.

I just want to punish Yui for pulling that tech. I camp there to test how long Yui will stay under hook, and willing to take her hook. But not, she never move.
We as Killers could just leave 2 of them there, though as @Greatamygdala said, Unbreakable is a thing.
@Komodo16 I couldnt tell if Yui had Unbreakable that just laying there waiting for me to leave then pick up & unhook Kate. And it would be faster than I able to find the other 2 (not mention chase, injure, chase, down, hook time)
Just fyi, if you fear DS or unbreakable you are gonna lose. By not letting them use it from fear they will use it later when it can ruin the match you worked hard to turn to your favor.

Quentin mains are the best survivors. They always save you at the match end and they best loopers. Even better than Aces. And Quentin never waste time, they always do gens if it's a good time for that.
What else stereotypes you know?
What about me being feng :(
