  • But I hope you realize that not all purple and up addons are OP.

Trickster literally can't win any games without his purple addon.

Just wanted to let you know.

No, that's not wanting to perform their best.

That's called being "boosted". Trying your best would be done when you're on the same leveling field as everyone else.

If you get ahead in the game thanks to some item you bought, that doesn't count as trying to perfrom their best.

    Just like real life.

Eh... You do have point that buying OP items means you want things easier in life so yeah, there's that.

But unless BHVR is willing to change anything, we're all stuck with what's left.

Oh I’m sorry about that. I didn’t recognise that you were talking about Survivors as well.

I suppose the same thing I said before applies to Survivors as well - Survivors increase their already monumental chances of survival and victory by using strong items with stronger add-ons.

I mean, come on. At least read the entire post before commenting then aye?

Purple toolboxes and medkits are super powerful for survivors and same goes for killers.

Anything over green just ruins the fun of the game and don't get me started over red addons and items.

But it's an endgame mechanic thing.

BP gets abundant and people need to spend it SOMEWHERE.

And they probably made most of their characters prestige 3.

  • Because the game allows them to. It's part of the game mechanic.

Sadly, I do agree that some addons do make particular games boring.

  • As a Korean, I hate his pronunciation of "감사합니다" Gamsahamnida (Thank you very much) at the end of his Mori.

It almost sounds like he's saying "감사한다" Gamsahanda (I thank you) cuz of his weak pronunciation. Korean is a rather hard-hitting language where each vowels need to be clear, similar to Japanese.

    Enough with my rant.

Here are some Korean phrases I heard while playing as The Trickster that's not been listed yet. (I am also the person who added a few quotes from his Wiki as well 😃)

    • When hooking a survivor he says "좋았어" (Jo-ah-seo) meaning "nice" or "oh yeah"
    • When finding a survivor in a locker he says "찾았다" (Chajatda) meaning "found it" or "found you"

Will add more if I find any

  • Binding of Kin was the worst no doubt.

The last most "hyped" original chapter would be Chains of Hate.

Descend Beyond was pretty normal. Plain scary killer chapter.

All Kill was kind of fresh, but is terribly executed.

  • @Pirate said:

Why? If you dont want to have contact with the killer why even playing?

    Survivors be like:

Hey dont tunnel or camp the hook!

    But survivor also:

Oh no, he might have BBQ I need to hide so I cant releave my team by being chased for a bit.

Can you people take a light joke like... lightly?

God, you people ruin the fun out of everything.

I bet you're super popular at parties.

  • I bet it's licensed content.

We've had a wacky chemist, a deformed twin and a pretty boy maniac singer for the past 3 chapters.

It's about time we get smth that's less experimental and more traditionally scary. Not that the previous chapters were bad.

  • @Zixology said:

Not at all. His cloak speed was fine before. I could pressure gens with ease.

Now, when I uncloak, they're already halfway across the map. Even more so if they have sprint burst.

So... you don't like the change?

Would you prefer his older version?

  • I heard his invisibility is now completely unseeable and he moves faster or smth.

That's good compensation don't you think?

  • Nobody owes you anything. Not even your so called "fun".

Play as you wish and just be mindful of your actions.

  • I think people have a hard time comprehending what I'm trying to say here 😅

Oh well, let them read carefully what I've said.

  • @OldHunterLight said:

Which from the experiences that we have playing this game is worse than a killer being strong.

We are not asking him to be nurse level, we are asking him to be at least demo level.

This killer shouldn't have been a 110% with this current power.

    That's my point as well.

I'm for starting with buffs not ending with nerfs. 😀

  • @OldHunterLight said:

Ok but the point of 4.4 110% is that they are strong, not hot garbage like trickster.

Of course he needs decent balancing.

But the point of the thread was that we should be thankful that he's weak first rather than the opposite.

If he was strong since release, all hell would've broken loose.

I don't know who Wonder Girls are except for their one song "So Hot" so I'm not the most equipped to answer that lol

    Whoops, generation gap showing! hahaha

Nah, they're pretty old now. 14 years since debut to be exact.

But Twice's music is pretty good, not gonna lie. Kudos to JYP

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062749#Comment_2062749

They're "Twice", I think they're a 3rd gen group (but I don't know about the generations so don't sue me) that managed to survive into the 4th gen. Their popularity in Korea has managed to get themselves dubbed "The Official Girl Group of Korea" and they're pretty popular among western audiences too.

Oh, so are they Wonder Girls 2.0 or smth? Cuz I see JYP entertainment.

    My goodness I'm getting old...

  • Yeah, but that's promoting power creep.

That's like saying, since many of the survivor perks were not as strong as DH, Unbreakable and DS, let's buff all of them to make them viable as much.

The reason why devs nerfed DS was because they wanted to LOWER the power granted by the perk. If it was the opposite and that they buffed everything else, you'd be playing a different tune.

  • Sorry, I'm a gen 1.5 person so I don't know many of the newer gen groups.

    Who are these girls again?

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Trickster isn't even average/mediocre.He's just bad.Like really really bad.

    I get it.

Not every killer has to be Nurse and Spirit tier but they have to be decent so people actually want to play.

Having multiple strong killers is a good thing because that means that there are more different kinds of killers you play against.

Nothing is more boring than having to play against the same thing over and over again.

"Having multiple strong killers is a good thing because that means that there are more different kinds of killers you play against. Nothing is more boring than having to play against the same thing over and over again."

No no no. Don't say that. It should be the opposite!

The more strong killers there are the more common they'll be!

Like with strong perks, they'll dominate the game with the presence and that's not good!

If you want all killers to be strong then all the survivors will have to be strong too, and that's absolutely a big NO NO!

We should be making everyone less strong overall so that weaker ones don't get to be seen so weak!

  • @ActulCasul said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062686#Comment_2062686

    1. That was the point of my post

    2. Those 2 perks aren't a problem, they just are strong compared to the rest of the trash perk selection this game has to offer. The game has pigeon holed playstyles and perk selections for both sides.

    3. Not many decent tracking alternatives to BBQ. Noed is trash and unhealthy for the game, should be deleted. Ruin isn't a must and also why tf was pop nerfed?

    4. While there are other good perks available there's no real reason to ignore the better ones to feel special

Okay, Imma be more clear regarding Unbreakable and DH.

They make other perks look like trash because they are the strongest perks right now. DS used to be part of the trio but after being nerfed, it's no longer part of it.

Look how many killers were happy that the stupid perk was no longer viable/abusable. It's not about how strong a perk is, it's more towards how abusable it is.

DS was clearly not meant to be used the way it was used for a LONG time now.

Unbreakable & DH are both second life chance perks that are being abused to the core right now. Survivors mock, BM and even humiliate killers for not being able to play around them and it's not healthy for the game.

You also mentioned NOED and other killer perks that bring the same result.

My point is if we don't pinpoint where the unhealthy perks lie in the game regardless of roles, we'll never make the game a healthy environment.

But rest of the points you made, I agree.

  • @ActulCasul said:

There is nothing wrong with unbreakable and dead hard though, and waiting forever for a killer to get buffed from a pathetically weak point is also stupid.

Every point you made is the total opposite of what I was saying.

Unbreakable and Dead hard are a problem. And this is coming from a survivor main.

It's found in nearly every survivor at higher ranks and it shows why.

It's a MUST just like BBQ, NOED and Ruin for killers.

I NEVER use DH or Unbreakable not even once. It's not because I don't have them, it's because I want to find my own style of playing instead of relying on OP perks. Never used DS either so there's that.

Abuse is infamous in DBD and abusive perks need to be looked at. DS was a great start and now the other two needs to be balanced too. Same goes for all the abusive killer perks.

If you are willing to not see the blatant truth of the situation, then there's nothing more I can say.

  • @MongolPSR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2062632#Comment_2062632

If killers were balanced down to him I wouldn't play the game. Most people wouldn't play the game. This game would die.

Well either it's to bring all the weak ones strong or bring the strong ones down to weak. You can't have both.

That will be the same for survivors too.

Frankly, I would prefer a game where it's not OP killers vs OP survivors all the time.

Balance is key for a competitive game like this and making the Trickster strong would've only brought nerfs in the end.

    Just like Decisive Strike.

  • @MongolPSR said:

Yeah except he's so bad I'm actively staying away from spending money on him, I won't even spend shards on him its a waste. That's counter productive don't you think?.

If strong killers were to be equally balanced, to the point where the Trickster didn't look so bad everything would be good.

    Same with survivor perks.

Of course, the downside would be that people won't buy him until that happens.

Most people want to buy strong & fun killers anyway that make them feel good when playing. Not some mediocre, average killer.

But I think it's better for the health of the game.

  • I wonder how many people who say "do bones" actually won games by doing what they preach.

Maybe once or twice every 500 games I assume?

The point is, theoretically it works but realistically it doesn't. Especially in a Solo Q situation.

  • @onemind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059814#Comment_2059814

1 the last part was a semi assumption

2 a lot of killers are strong in open spaces ex bubba why throw 16 blades when I can hit them once

3 i agree I do like his perks

    1) Well your assumption is wrong.

    2) Becuz Bubba is a close range killer while Trickster is literally long range one.

    3) Good to hear.

  • @onemind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059789#Comment_2059789

So he was a tunnler and instead of doing the gens the team just let him kill them.

I dunno where you got that last part from. Maybe I wasn't clear enough?

He is very strong in open spaces. This is smth he and the Huntress differ on.

He is a little slow but that is made up for his fast throws and strong pressure.

His perks are pretty good too.

  • @onemind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2059724#Comment_2059724

Were they using the purple bounce addon oneok his like only 2 addons that make him decent

    No, not at all.

It was Yamaoka's Estate and he was actually pretty intimidating with his knives being thrown everywhere.

I think he's great at tunneling down survivors one by one.

People just look at his base speed and go "he too slow to be a good killah" and yet I find him much better than when I last saw him on PTB.

    Dunno, just personal experience.

  • They did say they improved the graphics in the lobby, so I guess it did change a little bit.

I also feel like the optimization is better in every aspect. Lobby used to be laggy af.

    Kudos to BHVR.

  • Just had a match against him...

He really is pretty decent lol.

No way near the trash tier people perceive him to be.

  • It was due to late approval for consoles I believe...

  • Exactly 1 mil ready.

I intend to grind Yun Jin first then Trickster.

  • It's the same with GF, but Myers is a frickin skyscraper compared to him.

He only needs to be buffed mildly, especially his power.

But that would also mean his addons must be compensated with nerfs so pick your poison.

  • my-image.png

Kate is Top notch. Change my mind.

P.S. I always liked Zarina's looks. Sophisticated yet classy.

Oh, and Yun Jin is HOT based on her new skin. Her original one looks like trash...

  • @Mistikus said:

i like the felinx skin but art team can we please stop putting backpack on every single felix skin hot news its ruin the skin

    This.

    He's already tall AF.

Not only that, but the bag also doubles his width so killers find him more easily.

  • The only down side is that Jake doesn't get a cosmetic set when he is literally "Korean" American and this collection is about Korea... 😣

  • That is actually a pretty damn cool piece.

This cosmetic set is going to be lit.

  • my-image.png

Wait, what was this list for again?

  • He's a less lethal Freddy at best.

He sucks at loops, but isn't too bad to the point where he's unplayable.

He has nice pressure and map awareness.

It's just annoying to verse as survivors.

  • When a survivor pops a gen simply because they were startled by my approach.

    Such frustration.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2055203#Comment_2055203

Jeez, the aggro in this reply is amusing. We're just debating a topic, no need to be so snarky.

Let me just put this on the table: I'm not a killer main nor have I ever been a killer main. Playing killer is miserable so I don't even bother much anymore. Don't know if you got that idea because I'm standing up for killers or because I like Oni and have him as my profile pic. Either way, it's bold of you to assume.

Anyways, I'm so sorry that you got offended when I said you're stupid if you don't realize the killer has BBQ. The same could be said if you're a killer and don't realize survivors have Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, whatever. If you don't take the chance of countering a perk after you know the other side has it, that's your fault and your fault only.

Oh yeah, you did compare both perks, even if it wasn't as spelled out as "A is better/worse than B". You said "You used BBQ (a popular killer perk) to track down a free kill and yet you're not happy with them using a survivor perk to get a free escape?", which is comparing both perks to giving a free escape/kill. That isn't the case when one was deserved and one wasn't.

A killer getting hit by DS when he wasn't tunneling is different from a survivor getting a 50/50 chance of getting found and downed. The survivors can counter BBQ whether they hide or get caught and win the chase, unlike DS where you're supposed to guess as to whether or not the survivor still has it despite not tunneling. You won't be able to change my mind on this my friend.

Snarky, offended... So many sentimental adjectives... I frankly don't give two S#!ts about this topic.

You still can't read between the lines it makes my fingers hurt typing anymore and I'm tired of repeating myself over and over and over and over again.

You know what? Imma stay off this thread now. You have a blessed day 😁

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2055125#Comment_2055125

If the survivors don't know a killer has BBQ by the endgame, they are stupid. Sorry to break it to you, but if the killer hooks somebody and comes to your exact position, it's obvious. You must be playing in low MMR if you think the survivors won't be able to counter it.

Moving on.. never once did I imply that DS was skill-based lol. A killer hunting down a survivor with BBQ only to win the chase is different from a survivor not being tunneled, losing the chase and punishing the killer for it with an undeserved DS. Comparing the two makes no sense since one was deserved and one wasn't.

I also find it funny that you think DS was countering BBQ when in actuality it was just giving an unfair escape considering the killer wasn't tunneling, hence why DS is being nerfed in the first place. He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it, that isn't "countering". I don't understand your point here.

Oh GOD. Why do killer mains feel so attacked whenever BBQ is even mentioned?!

    Listen, buddy.

You just gave a pass for killers saying "oh, if you don't realize BBQ is there by the endgame, you dumb"

and yet, you dumb down DS as an undeserving perk that is abusive towards killers only.

Did you hear me say: "oh, if you don't realize that survivors carry DS, you dumb" from my mouth? Hypocrisy at it's finest people.

I get that you are a killer main and you understand more of the killer's side than the counterpart's, but come on. Stick to the topic will you?

Also, when have I ever compared the two?

    Did I say: "A is better/worse than B..."? Wut?!

Here, read this again: What I DID say was that it's wrong to think he DESERVED both hooks when one of them was allowed by a perk (BBQ) that was countered by another perk (DS).

This is regarding KILLS not about perks. He was given fresh information about a survivor's whereabouts thanks to a perk (which the OP also agreed on) and decided to go for the kill. The survivor used DS as a mean to get a free escape from that free information. What's so hard to comprehend?

The OP took the risk to go after a survivor that was revealed thanks to BBQ. If he never did that, thing's wouldn't have turned out this way in the first place.

And finally: "He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it"

    🤣

You are making me laugh so hard. The entitlement is off the roof with this one.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2055048#Comment_2055048

If the killer went through the trouble of chasing a survivor and downing them, they ultimately won the chase and actually do deserve those kills, especially if they got punished for "tunneling" said survivor when that was not the case.

Not to mention, BBQ isn't free kills. BBQ is a tracking perk that has a 50/50 chance as to if you can even find the survivor given they could've moved at any point while you were traveling across the map. You'll also have to win the chase if you find them.

Not everything is black and white bud.

Lol, what dumb logic you got there.

BBQ allows free kills, not that it guarantees any. You see the difference? Survivor won't know you have BBQ and thus they won't make strategic moves against it, hence giving an upper hand for killers in the OP's situation.

Second, DS also takes "skill" according to your dumb logic. DS requires a "skill" check that you must succeed as well as another "chase" that ensues right after (You hear my sarcasm?). You fail to do any of those, you die once more.

I never said he didn't deserve ANY kills. I specifically mentioned that getting 1 survivor out of 2 hooks is not bad especially at endgame.

What I DID say was that it's wrong to think he DESERVED both hooks when one of them was allowed by a perk (BBQ) that was countered by another perk (DS).

    You learn something everyday baby!

  • You already had two hooked survivors then and only one escaped. You still got 1 out of 2.

Yeah, DS is OP but that doesn't mean you deserve those kills.

You used BBQ (a popular killer perk) to track down a free kill and yet you're not happy with them using a survivor perk to get a free escape?

I don't see the logic here...

  • @FogLurker said:

I coulda sworn they said character reworks were supposed to happen like a patch or 2 ago, was really looking forward to it as well. Now it's probably set to happen once all the map reworks are done, forever away. Map reworks are nice and all but it isn't nearly as fun as actually having new maps to play on. Blight, Twins, Trickster are owed maps of their own.

With the release of our 4th Realm Beyond update, we wanted to highlight the changes to Character Models and Animations, and share a bit about what you can expect to see in future updates.

This is the first Realm Beyond update to feature Character Models – should players expect more of these kinds of changes in future updates?

JF: YES! Some Killers will receive the same treatment as The Nurse and The Clown. The idea is to make them more beautiful without changing the look and personality of each character. We are also working on a bunch of updates for Survivor models – I cannot say more for now, but I’ve seen the first results and it looks really promising.

So according to the devs back in early Feb, the models are in fact in development.

Like you said, I'd also bet it's going to be after all the map reworks. Thankfully since facial reworks are not as hard as map reworks, it'll take less time for them to release those.

  • Blight is one of those killers who's super bad or super good depending on the player.

A good Blight traverses maps with easily one of the best movement abilities next to the nurse and literally hunt down survivors with good addons and BBQ.

    Scary mofo that dude.

  • It's his power that allows camping to be so easy.

He literally forces survivors to play like total selfish A-holes or sacrifice themselves to save the hooked one (most cases both may not survive without BT).

His squeals are obnoxious and not to mention BMing hooked survivors with his hammer.

What a tragic cycle from a real cool villain...

  • It feels bad when you play survivor and you're the first one to face the killer within 5 seconds into the game.

It feels bad when you play killer and you hear the first gen going off when you only started chasing a survivor within 5 seconds into the game.

so, it feels bad whenever you play a certain role and don't excel in it.

There's no special treatment in DBD. DS was nerfed for killers while Ruin was nerfed for survivors etc.

  • Survivors:

    • All the old characters' faces, especially the main 4 and Nea. (Quentin, Cheryl and others can wait)
    • More facial expressions. Some don't even move their mouths when hooked.
    • Better posture/body + scale. Felix looks like a model while Jake looks like his torso is 2/3 of his entire body.

    Killers:

    • Mori rework for all the old killers. No more slash slash, okay done Moris.
    • Better stand animation for Trapper. He's way too stiff looking.
    • More animations when breaking gens and breaking pallets.

    hmmm, mad?

I don't think you know the meaning of the word well. Here, I'll put it up for ya:

"intensely angry or displeased -Merriam Webster-"

I'm not "intensely angry or displeased".

You are a nobody on the internet, why should I be mad at you?

All I am doing is pointing out the obvious facts of your silly, unlettered argument that has no factual basis whatsoever.

The one that's looking rather foolish is you, sir. 😀

1 2 3 4 … 7
